Staff is very friendly. I like the fact that they are very close to my house. Short commute for my cat/dogs for vet appointments. Prices are very high compared to other veterinarian locations. (They are in a very nice brick & mortar building.) Wait times for an appointment are typically not too long.
Lane Animal Hospital has it all: Kindness, compassion, professionalism, patience, and a reassuring willingness to answer all pet parent questions. You never feel like you and your fur babies are being rushed, and you have confidence in knowing that your precious pets are getting the very best care possible. Five stars arent enough; they should get ten.
Convenient app, Great facility. Staff easily knowledable. Friendly and great with my doggo. Will go there again and highly recommend. Prices were MORE than fair, as well! Beautiful facility. Fast service. Weve thought about finding a local vet, maybe even cheaper services, Im just at ease every time a pet has to have surgery or has gone in alone due to Covid I NEVER WOORY ABOUT THE WELLBEING OF MY PETS. I KNOW they are in ammmaazing hands here from the time Im greeted until I leave, Im informed of the plan and well educated on care instructions. Love to be able to trust a provider we pay so much for on an animal that cant say whats happening behind the doors, because I know theyre safe, protected and Im never sold 9n anything we felt wasnt really necessary. Thanks Lane for doing it right! We appreciate you! Maise&Sam
Our family has used Lane Animal Hospital for 25+ years - we have had positive experiences with all vets on staff. Special thanks today to Dr. Holly and vet tech Brandy for being kind and compassionate as it was a hard day for our family and our cat Ed, who was able to cross the rainbow bridge peacefully with their care. Thank you LAH!
They are always willing to go the extra mile! We have seven cats, all with different needs, and the doctors and staff are responsive and willing to discuss all possible treatment options and answer any questions. Compassionate and caring, I wouldnt take my kitties to anyone else!
We highly recommend Lane Animal Hospital, and especially Dr. Margaret Lane! We are new to Chelsea, and recently took our senior kitty in to see Dr. Margaret Lane. From making the appointment, to meeting Dr. Lane, we immediately felt welcome, and at ease. The office staff is highly responsive and friendly. Dr. Lane is very caring, and extremely knowledgable. She also went out of her way to care for, and treat, our senior cats health issues, not to mention make us feel very welcome. We highly recommend Lane Animal Hospital and Dr. Lane!!
Our dog is extremely terrified of the vet so our trainer recommended Lane Animal Hospital for a successful visit. After two unsuccessful visits where they couldn’t actually perform any of the wellness visit, they recommended continued training and possibly considering a home visit vet care solution until our dog is feeling more comfortable with vet care. I just have to say, the patience and compassion for us from Dr, Fryberg and the rest of the staff was so appreciated, I hope we can have a successful visit in the future. Thank you for understanding the life of fearful dogs...
Lane Animal Hospital has been our vet for over 7 years and we have only great things to say about them. They are always efficient and friendly, their staff knowledgeable, and they genuinely care about your pet. They are one of the few businesses left that make you feel like family.Over the years we have had them care for many types of pets and they have done an excellent job. We always board our animals their and know that they will be taken care of.Super place, super people!
My wife and I would like to Thank Dr. Lane and the rest of the team at Lane animal hospital for taking such good care of us during a very difficult time with our pet. We were beyond impressed by their level of attention and compassion. I honestly couldnt imagine a better handling of a difficult situation. Thank you so much for looking after us and our pets! We very much appreciate what you did for us!
I recently lost my husky of 16 years. She had gone to Lanes since she was a puppy. I dont typically write reviews for companies, but Lane Animal Hospital deserves my time and top praises. They treated my pup for many years with absolute kindness and compassion. I had several family dogs that also went to Lanes before my own. These people are absolutely top notch. They helped me keep my sweet girl for as long as possible, and for that, I will always be grateful. Thank you very much Lanes.... I will always recommend your company to everyone.
First time visiting Lane Animal Hospital today. 💛 Cant say enough wonderful things about Dr. Fryburg and his staff- they were extremely accommodating and friendly even while practicing social distance. Im an extremely hard to please pet parent (yep- I admit it!😂) but Lane easily exceeded my standards. Thank you making a commitment to fur babies and veterinary medicine, especially during these unprecedented times.
My dog has received nothing but the best of care from Lane. They have taken care of him throughout most of his long life and until the end. Without a doubt he wouldnt have made it as long as he did with out them and I am greatful for their competent and compassionate service. I have always felt their service to be fairly priced and I dont think I would ever take any of my pets anywhere else.
FAMILY DOCTORS for us since 1977 for ALL our closest Family members....our 4 legged Friends. The complete staff are the absolute most caring, loving, and knowledgeable staff for us for over 50 years. They have always been up front, supportive, and loving to us as well as to our pets. They truly are partners invested in the best possible care for pets health. We count Lanes staff as extended Family members!
Lane Animal Hospital is excellent! We have been taking our 9 1/2 year old golden retriever there since we moved to the Chelsea area nearly 4 yrs ago. He used to need lots of coaxing to walk into the Vets office. At LAH he runs in eager to see the friendly front desk staff, the Vet Techs and the Veterinarians. He LOVES Dr Margaret!! He willingly follows her to the treatment area for lab work and or minor surgery. Margaret Lane is very professional, knowledgeable and caring. We recently added a golden retriever puppy to our family. He too has received excellent care at Lane Animal Hospital.
I highly recommend Lane Animal Hospital. I arrived home from work to find my kitten (Dublin) was very sick and extremely dehydrated. I called Lane Animal Hospital and they informed me that they would be able to see Dublin that day. When I arrived (10 minutes after calling) I was immediately assigned an exam room.Tests indicated Dublin was experiencing kidney failure, and after injecting him with hydrating fluid, recommended immediately taking him to the animal hospital. Dr. M. Lane called the animal hospital to inform them I was en route and briefed their staff of the situation. When I arrived at the animal hospital, a room was waiting.Additional tests confirmed blockage of the intestine due to the presence of a foreign object. After surgery, Dublin is on the path to a full recovery.Everyone at Lane Animal Hospital showed compassion, professionalism, and a sense of urgency to Dublins situation, and my family is very grateful for that.
For many years, Ive been taking my own companion animals to Lane for everything from regular check-up visits to surgical procedures to end-of-life decisions. Every staff member in the organization consistently performs with both competence and compassion. I would absolutely recommend Lane Animal Hospital to anyone who cares about getting excellent advice/treatment for their pet.
I was very displeased with this vet. When scheduling an appointment they dont seem to care what youre going in for even when you try to tell them. My dog was diagnosed with Lyme Disease during her yearly blood test. I was given the correct medicine with the wrong directions both verbally and written on the bottle. When I scheduled her follow up since they didnt care I said I was scheduling the appointment for a follow up and they didnt ask any questions. When I got there they asked if I was following up on allergies!?!? I also brought my two cats in for being sick for two separate visits as they werent getting better. They have deformed front feet and when I showed the vet he dismissed it. It has since become a problem for one of them. Each visit was was not cheap as this vet is more expensive than average. The one item I did like about this place is they are good about not letting you wait in the waiting room but instead take you back to a private room and usually you dont wait too long even when early.
We scheduled our dog to come in for his back leg injury. X-rays, check uo, whatever they needed to do to make sure he’s ok. We get here, our dog goes in. They come back out 5 minutes later telling us they don’t have time to do X-rays today and basically to take him hone and “rest” him Amd we can come back in a few weeks and get an X-ray. So yeah, let’s charge us $100 to tell us to rest him. WE ALREADY KNEW THAT. Re-pay $100 for them to tell us they don’t have time to see him today. Probably one of the craziest things I’ve heard all week. The part that makes me most upset is that that we brought him here a few months ago for the same problems and they told us it was growing pains. And charged us 900 something dollars. The problem never went away and now here we are. Anything to make an extra buck. We will not be returning here.
We are full time RVers & we came to town last night & noticed our one dog having some trouble walking & jumping. By the next morning, she was not walking or using her right back leg. We called Lane Animal Hospital & they listened to our dog’s history over the phone & gave us an appointment the same afternoon. The office staff was very friendly. Dr. Fryberger saw our dog & was very thorough. Since we are always on the road, we rely on Google reviews to help us find doctors, vets & dentists. I hope my review will help someone like us, who does not know anyone in the area, to know you can trust this office & their care for your pets.
We have always had good service and care at LAH. Currently, we have a little boy with heart problems - and Dr. Margaret, just recently, helped us get through a very scary time when he collapsed at home. It was going into a weekend, OF COURSE!!! With her help we feltconfident to handle our situation.
We have been coming to Lane for 15 years or so. They have always provided us and our pets with compassionate, professional care. Right now our 10 year old great pyr Roxy is recovering from lime disease and is doing awesome!! Thanks to all the vets, techs and staff at Lane!!!
There are a few reasons why I like lane animal hospital. But there are theee things that stand out to me the most.1. They always give me peace of mind; its never a problem calling them post appointment if you have other questions or if you truly do have an emergency situation.2. Honesty plain and simple. They will tell you if you need to change habits that one allows thier pet to have.3. I never felt like the value of my dollar is wasted on thier expertise. Or that frevalish procedures are being done.Dr.holly in particular makes is easy to trust in that regard. If you have cats ask for her.Fantastic experience start to finish.
Dr. Rokke provided exceptional care to my elderly dog in his last days. We took him in because he was very lethargic. We thought he had a leg injury and was painful, however, it turned out to be a lot more than that. He had a tumor on his spleen that was causing him to bleed internally. Ultimately, he was not a good candidate for surgery and only lived for another week before we had to make the hard choice to say goodbye but we were able to keep him comfortable and spend a little more time with him. To say that the staff and doctors at Lane Animal Hospital were compassionate and understanding is an understatement. They were there to help my wife and I through a very difficult time and I will be forever grateful. We will not take our other pets anywhere else.
Do not go here. We have a very friendly pitbull pup gets along with everybody. Less then a year old. Normally take him to the Ann Arbor hospital and he loves the vets and all the staff they have over there. And they love and treat him well. When he was fixed they even had him sleeping on their laps while he recovered. Never had any problems with any animal there. They are awsome with pets and know how to work with animals. Well we live pretty much right across the street from this place (lane animal hospital) so decided to give it a try as all he needed was a simple nail trimming. Well they come out and take my wife into a private room to talk to her, then bring our dog out. He has three leeshes on him, nose bleeding badly and a bloodshot eye from what they said was smacking his face trying to get away from them. This should not happen at a place if they supposedly know how to work with animals. So I caution you to stay away and go to another place if you can.
If could put less than one star i would this place is a huge joke!!!! All they care about is getting money. I have a pitt boxer mix who has been limping for months now he has been in and out of the vet been to lane atleast 3 times in the last two months or so 1st they put him on meds didnt work so they said he would need xrays so we set up an appointment tell the lady on the phone hey u have seen him they said he would need xrays also he is making a weird cough or hacking nosie so she sets up for an appintment we go in...1st the vet technician is so afraid of or dog he backed him self as far from my dog as possible (who by the way was still on the leash) so my dog is growling at steve and steve asked what the dog issue was. I told him he was growling because he came in and just started talking and the dog is scared cuz he dosnt know him so he decided to try to give my dog treats but instaed he threw treats across.the room at him (my dog wouldnt eat them off the floor he trained to take treats from.a hand), and then when he was brave enough to try give the dog a treat from his hand he was shaking and that caused my dog to tuck his tale start.shaking and growl more(my dog took the treat from his hand very gentle) He couldnt listen to his heart because he was to scared of the dog.. at this point my dog is very confused and up set. The dr comes in and decided that he needs to be muzzled. My dog is 5 years old and has NEVER once been or needed to be muzzled. But we let them muzzle him... the doc looks at him for like 1 min just to.tell.us they dont do xrays that day and they cant give him anything for the cough/hacking nosie hes making because of ybe mefs they already put him on for tbe limp. and send us home with no answers or help we were prob only there 30mins all togethwr so we basicly paid 35 dollars to have our dog tortured and get no answers at all expect come back in, in a few days. They could have looked at his chart n told us all this on the phone and saved us money and my poor dog the anxiety. We now go to the Humane Society and not once has my dog been muzzled and he even lays in the vets lap. Also lane told us that xrays would take 6hrs... at the human society it only takes an hour and we had an appointment for xrays the next day unlike lane where it would take a week or more to get in and multiple unpleasant and unnecessary visits. This is not the first vet visit at Lane that has been unsatisfying and a waste of time and money. The sad part is that we have another dog 12 and had been going to lane for years but the last year or two lane has just be a complete disappontment when we go..
I took my Springer Spaniel to this clinic when she became ill. They could not diagnose her problem. By the time I finally received the correct diagnosis, (at another area clinic) it was too late. My dog died of Hodgkins disease. Not only are these vets horribly incompetent, their staff consistently closes early, and messages are never returned. Avoid.This.Clinic.
Very Rude service, took my cat in today and had it checked. They told me my cat had a staph infection and gave it a shot of antibiotics. That was it, they did no other tests and didnt ask us if we wanted extra tests. We then had to go to A DIFFERENT veterinarian to find out that my cat has fleas they did the actual skin test for mange. After calling back to the place, was greeted by a seemingly nice man only to be put down and told I was a liar. They told me there was no way my cat had mange after they didnt do a test.DO NOT USE THIS VET IF YOU HAVE CATS. They dont know what they are doing here and they will rip you off. Lost 70 dollars thanks to this place. Waste of a trip and waste of time.

2021-12-30We were only in town for a couple of days and our Dachshund had an infected paw / nail bed that needed attention. They were able to squeeze us in and see our pup the day we called. The medicine they gave him is working wonderfully and we couldnt be more pleased. They were super friendly and thorough with their explanations. We also thought their pricing was very reasonable.Thank you so much!!

2022-01-31They have been treating my old cat for a few years, the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. They dont push for unnecessary testing, they are very accommodating for scheduling purposes. They keep me informed on testing and reasons for testing, when its needed (my kitty has kidney disease) and are very caring with my pet when he has to go in. Definitely recommend. Ive not seen every provider in the practice, but the ones I have are great.

2022-04-29Really great place. The staff is super friendly and was so kind to my baby GG. GG had peri-care as his hair gets long. Too bad they dont do a full shave. Also he had his shots and they said he was amazing.

2022-06-23Weve always had great care at Lane, but this was the best vet appointment ever! Dr. Margaret Lane took great care of our new puppy, Yogi, was very thorough, and took a lot of time with us to answer our questions and address all of our concerns. Its been a long time since weve had a puppy, so there were a lot of questions! Will definitely recommend Lane Animal Hospital!

2021-12-19I cannot say enough good things about the vets and staff at Lane Animal Hospital. Everyone has always treated my dogs with such love and care, Ive never doubted they were in good hands. A couple of my dogs have had hip dysplasia and one recently passed from cancer. The vets were always open about different treatments available and supportive of the treatments I chose. I never felt pressured into options I couldnt afford. Plus my dogs are always so excited to go there - that was not the case at our previous vet.

2022-01-29We thought they were like family. We had been going there forever and had paid hundreds of dollars in vet bills and trusted the care of our pets to them. Then today our dog started screaming in pain and the front desk told us to go elsewhere, they are booked and a vet couldnt take a minute to look at our dog to see what they thought. We told her how worried we were and how we would appreciate the piece of mind and she just said they were too busy. If you need them to be there, I guess its just about the money not the pets. We have no idea where to go, its a Saturday and she just didnt care.

2022-07-19In addition to bringing my dogs to the vets at Lane, Ive been fostering dogs who have a wide range of health challenges. The vets and staff here do their best to give me appointments quickly, and to educate me on the care and management of dogs with diabetes, epilepsy, osteoarthritis, behavior problems, eye problems, and more. I feel very lucky to have Lane in our community.

2022-03-18They are the best. They have compassion for the animals and patience. I have been bringing my dogs to Lane Animal Hospital since 1967 when they had their office across from where they are now. Excellent care

2022-05-04Ive had nothing but great experiences with them. They really came through for me when my dogs were sick and my regular vet could not make time for them. I cant imagine taking them anywhere else now.
