Comment: Rented a crash pad from here to go bouldering. I wasnt sure how reliable this would be, or if I would be able to pick up the pad after hours, but the store has an excellent self-service procedure which is secure and easy to use. I picked up the pad and dropped it off after hours and enjoyed it for bouldering for a few days for a very affordable price. Great experience. I will be back for more and would recommend to anyone needing to rent some gear last minute!

Comment: I had scheduled a 7-day trip to Yosemite National Park and here I found everything I needed, the way to reserve is through the website and although at first I was uncertain about the pick-up system by yourself without the help of someone, at the end In the end I managed to do everything without any major inconvenience. When dropping things off, the process was also simple and only took about 8 minutes in total. There was a change in the type of tent I had rented but they were very attentive in communicating with me by email. I rented a tent, Sleeping, kitchen, gas, sheet and rubber hammer. Everything was of very good quality and was in perfect condition.

As a newbie to snow sports I learned a bunch.

Comment: My partner and I stopped by Last Minute Gear a couple weeks ago for some very last-minute reservations for our first backpacking trip. The gear we rented (marmot sawtooth sleeping bag + neo air sleeping pad) kept us toasty and well rested, and the backpacking stove was easy to use and pack away. If youre normally a car camper like me or completely new to camping, I would recommend checking Last Minute Gear out!

Instead of unnecessarily spending $100+ on an additional pair ended up renting great quality pants for $11 for 4 days. Exemplary self service drop off thats enabled by their web app (they even have wifi incase you dont have cellular). Also super friendly staff when I inquired about the options. Will definitely come again!

Comment: Great concept, high end gear. One idea for the owners is to include a printed instruction with rental for things that need installation such as tents (get inspired by Ikea or Legos) . We got the Agnes big10 station 6 person tent and we werent sure if we got the poles right. so we ended up not getting the extra room outside.

James was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating when I need some last minute gear before a trip. He was even able to move things around on his schedule to help me before I left town! When I ended up not needing some of the gear I purchased, their return policy and process were perfect. I will absolutely be returning to pick up some ski gear later in the year, highly recommend.

My only product complaint would be that the camping air pad wasnt very comfortable. Im considering buying my own, in case I end up camping more frequently. I bought a Lena cup (menstrual cup) which worked exactly as advertised. Extremely easy to use and I never notice Im wearing it. I no longer have to buy disposable tampons and love knowing that it is safer than bleached cotton and plastic applicators. James answered all of my questions about the Lena cup with expertise I would not have expected from a person who has never used one. Highly recommended!

They answered all my questions about my trip and even gave tips on the equipment I might need. Comment: This place is the best. If you are camping in the bay area, especially if youre traveling internationally, this is the ONLY spot you should be going to get your gear. You have to schedule to pick the gear up, but they work on a 24 hour schedule, so you can arrange to pick up and drop off gear in the middle of the night. Really a great concept, and when you shop at Last Minute Gear, you are doing yourself a favor.

He prepared everything I need for my trip to Tahoe 30min after I placed the order on a Friday night. The showroom is close to BART and a bunch of MUNI lines, which is super convenient for commuters. I truly recommend this business to everyone, especially to people like me who just started snow sports and only go snowboarding for a few times a season!

Comment: My camping stove was confiscated on the flight over, and my girlfriend and I had ordered a few pieces before my trip there. All it took was a couple minutes on their site to order a replacement for the trip and we were ready to go. We found the home in Nob hill easily, and were able to get the equipment quickly and were on our way to Mt. Diablo!The equipment was fantastic — the sleeping bags were perfect, the cooler kept ice better than any Ive ever used before, there was more than enough camping gas to make meals for the weekend, and the stove was just what we needed.In the end, this service was exactly what we needed. High-quality gear, easily accessible, and at a great price that is affordable for anyone. I will definitely be going here first the next time I go camping near San Francisco!

The web-based business doesnt have a physical location, but my friend and I found last minute gear to be a much more responsive and affordable option as compared to renting at bigger name stores (e.g.Sports Basement, REI, etc. where the quote for a sleeping bag rental ran ~$50) - the company features a pay-what-you-can model, making what could otherwise be out-of-range gear more affordable to the general public. Though skeptical about the 24 service at first, I was easily able to get into contact with the owner, James, and he reassured me that the business was legitimate and after placing my order, I received very clear instructions about how to retrieve the package. Alternatively, if you want to avoid a trip downtown, your order can also be delivered for a $20 charge. The equipment we received was in good condition and allowed us to be prepared for a several day camping trip through Lassen and Crater Lake.James is also very flexible and understanding about any situations that may arise; my friend and I were due to return the gear midday on 6/25, unaware that we had scheduled the return time to overlap with SF Pride festivities. On 6/24, James took it upon himself to let us know and offer to let us return the gear earlier in the morning, later in the evening, or even push the return to Sunday. You would be hard pressed to find this type of understanding and flexibility at a more corporate store. Overall, the experience was stellar and I would recommend this service to anyone looking for camping gear rentals in the Bay Area.

So I was scrambling and calling stores to see if they have anymore snow gears, but no luck. Since I was suppose to go to Tahoe that day, I was going to give up but I found Last Minute Gear! I rented a few pairs of snowshoes for a trip to Yosemite last weekend and Last Minute Gear (James Dong in particular) made the process extremely seamless even when I had some un-forseen scheduling issues arise.
