Lavender Hill Farm in other cities:
The views are picturesque, the products are all organic and local, and the staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. There is so much to do here, and many paths to explore! We showed up on a whim and it will definitely be a spot to revisit for some of the interesting festivals and activities on our next camping trip. They even make Lavender Lemonade! Loved it!
I love this place, we accidentally found this place on our way to Bay Harbor. The lavender are on their way to blooming, I cannot wait to return and see the field in full bloom in lavender. The event center is coming along nicely and the gift shop stock are starting have a variety of lavender related items for sale. This would be a great place to hold a special event or weddings. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I cannot wait for my next visit.
This place has a cute country store. The lavender honey that they sell is the best honey ever. The place is not as big as I thought it would be but it was nice. They were making oil when I was there and it smelled so good. They had different colors of lavender. Their barn that they host events in was beautiful.
Beautiful farm and impressive operation! They are MAEAP verified and know their stuff. They care about their farm and the soil and Earth it grows from. Thank you for being a sustainable farm! And they have an event barn too! I am looking forward to seeing a concert there in a few weeks.
We made this most recent visit in June, a bit to early to see much in bloom so will come back in a month. Always something under restoration, renovation, expansion here. Lovely gift shop with lavender items from dried flowers, to lemonade, to sachets, to soaps, to.... Now offering tours in golf carts. The lavender labyrinth is coming along nicely. For me this is the highlight of the spot. Their event barn for weddings and other gatherings looked nearly finished. Drying shed. Free easy parking. So many varieties of lavender. Pretty much just have to see this in person!
We took a very interesting tour through the lavender fields, drying barn and distillery. Our tour guide, who was also the owners young daughter, did a great job and answered all the questions thoroughly. It gave us all a much better appreciation of the final various lavender products that are made and sold in the Lavender Hill Farm store.
This is such a cute farm. They have twenty five different varieties of lavender. The smell in the air is so relaxing but not overwhelming. They have a little gift shop filled with little delightful finds. The lavender shortbread cookies are a perfect complement to an afternoon tea. They also have lavender goods for around the house: soaps, candles, pet products, spice mixtures, lotions, even chapstick. They also have lavender soda, lemonade, or gin for refreshments. They have many events happening throughout the summer from yoga to painting.
Beautiful farm. Visited in the Fall so not much farm activities/events. Check website for activities starting in May. Lavender products sold in their retail/events barn... lots of product varieties... lavender cremes, lotions, cookies, sachets, even stuffed animals. Fun to shop for Christmas stocking stuffers. They offer a couple of places to sit outside to view the scenic farm acreage. Ordering from their website is available. It was quiet and beautiful on my Monday visit. Located outside of Boyne City,MI
What an incredible place! Worth every second of your time to visit this very unique destination within close distance to Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Boyne City. Lots of property to explore amongst the lavender, friendly and helpful employees, and a beautiful gift shop in the barn. I was excited to bring home some unique gifts for my family. They even sell lavender salt and pepper, tasty! I also took a golf cart guided tour of the farm which was very interesting. I never knew there was so much science behind growing lavender and uses for it. I saw kids swinging on the swings and giggling. Someday I plan to go back and participate in one of the many fun activities they offer. I would love to take the mixology class and attend another concert in their beautiful barn! And they offer belly dancing, what? I cant wait to return to this magical place! Thank you for a great visit! PS There are other pretty gardens on the property. The butterfly plants with monarchs flying around was a special touch.
The owner, I think his name is Bill, isn’t very welcoming in the slightest. I was excited to visit because lavenders are my favorite flower, but he made my experience unpleasant and I will not be back. Nonetheless all the other staff were amazing and gave me a great tour even though I could tell that they were exhausted. I recommend going to the lavender farm of Niles.
This farm looks beautiful from the outside but when you go in, you see that they are using employees to work long hours in the hot sun while paying them little to no money. They refused to hire actual workers who are trained for the job at hand. Instead they used the employees, did not pay them nearly enough for the job at hand and refused to give a raise. The owners grow beautiful lavender but sell it at such a high markup it is not even worth the purchase. They have no respect for their employees lives and personal time. Not worth the drive out there and not worth the cost of the lavender! Find somewhere else!
We got married here last fall and it was the most magical place to say our vows, the staff was lovely, the fizzy lavender lemonade has become my new favorite beverage and the landscaping let everyone speechless. The whole day was stunning and no matter where you snapped a picture we were able to frame it, we will definitely be coming back to visit and get some beautiful lavender products as soon as we can!
If you love Lavender like I do this is the place for you! The gift shop has the most unique gifts. I purchased soap, essential oil, and lotion for myself, pixie dust which is a duck or pork rub recommended by a local, pet bedding spray for my fur babies, beard oil for my husband. I just opened everything to give it a sniff and it all smell amazing!!! The staff was super helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful! All lavendar lovers must visit!
Very beautiful farm, the gift shop in the barn has so many different natural products that all smell amazing! I bought a Lavender Creame Soda and some of the Blueberry Lavender Sorbet and I loved both of them but the sorbet was like tasting a cloud, so sweet and delicious. The staff were all super friendly and really knowledgeable, they actually had answers to all my random questions about lavender. All around a great place and I cant wait to come back and smell that lavender breeze next summer :)
Their guided golf cart tour was enjoyable and informative. Worth the visit. Gift shop had many lavender related products to choose from. Food related, bath and body, medicinal and organic. Thanks for the great tour Emily. Keep up the good work and youll have a garden plot named after you someday soon!
I have been in communication with the farm for months. I drove three and a half hours to buy a specific variety of lavender. I spoke with several employees about the plants and walked into the gift shop to browse and pay for my plants and was summarily ejected by a very rude cashier for not wearing a mask! There were no signs, no one else said a word, no indication when emailing back and forth. I was so excited about the visit and now Im so disappointed in the way we were treated. I would not recommend this place after this.
We LOVE this place!!! It’s so beautiful. The owner is really sweet. He greeted us upon arrival and was letting us know how everything went. $5 for a tour which is a STEAL considering how educated and informative the tour guides are. Our tour guide was Justin- he was sooooo sweet. He is an amazing young man. He was knowledgeable about the varieties of lavender but also super cheery and funny. It wasn’t boring at all. The gift shop is BEAUTIFUL. It was decorated by a sweet girl who is majoring in merchandising. The other girls in the gift shop were super sweet and personable as well. The prices for the gift shop items are a bit expensive but definitely worth it considering the work and love that is put into these amazing products. 11/10 would recommend if you are near the area! Love you guys at lavender hill! Xo
Atmosphere / Location – Awesome views and Lavender smells from the fields… Recommend visiting on a breezy day. As the smell from the fields (and I’m sure the still) are wonderful. Totally makes for a pleasant afternoon.Amenities / Service – Our tour guide Maya did a wonderful job. She knows her stuff and had a great personality. Not a very long tour but well worth it. Full of tons of information about both the farm and the community.Summary – An excellent place to visit when in norther Michigan. Very glad to see the work that the owners are doing not only for the flowers but also the community. Loved seeing their event barn as well.
Visited the farm today for the first time, and had an amazing experience. Bill was the best tour guide! He took the time to explain the different lavender varieties and walked us through the process from harvest to drying to distilling. Fascinating! Oh, and he even understood the importance of photo ops on our girls weekend! Totally recommended!
Where to even begin? Our experience at Lavender Hill Farm was fantastic. We chatted for a while with the individual working in the gift shop and were given tons of recipes and tips for using lavender to cook, mix cocktails, or bake with. We had a tour of the facility and loved all that we learned. Only wish we were there in July to actually see the lavender as it had not yet bloomed. The event space is quaint and magical. The perfect place for a beautiful wedding. Too bad we dont live closer as they have live music and events in the space. Highly recommend this place to visit- even if just passing through.
Very nice venue in the barn. Went to the square dancing event and enjoyed ourselves very much. The only thing we missed was the smell of the lavender as harvest is over for the year. Thank you for putting on this event. Paul Williams did a great job teaching and calling
What an elegantly surreal place! We were fortunate to drive up just as the lavender bushes were being trimmed. The scent was just wonderful. I dont think we will ever forget it. There is a nice little shop where you can purchase lavender-scented items. I wish we lived closer so I could take some of their classes.
If you want to learn about lavender farming take the tour. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable on the whole farming process. He kept my 13 year old entertained & my 10 yr old. The gift store is a perfect starting or end point too. Just some really great folks here.
Stepped out of my car and inhaled the beautiful lavender scented breeze, suddenly I was I heaven. Loved the scenery and walking the lavender fields. The barn is gorgeous would live to attend a concert or other event here. Also fell in love with all the lavender infused products especially the lotions. Cookies, lemonade, and hand soap! Wished I had more money to spend this was my 2nd trip in 2 days I could not go home to Indy without getting more treats and enjoying the scenery. I will definitely be ordering more online. I wish this was not so far away!!!17th April...Your welcome! I am hoping to order some products soon until I can make a return visit hopefully in July or August. I came back in October and was pleased to see lavender still blooming. 💜
This place is incredibly picture perfect! Loved everything about it. Gained at least a year of life visiting this place. It was so relaxing. They have a few chairs towards the back on a hill, use those chairs and take advantage of the surreal views of the farm and barn!
Great place to stop. Wonderful gift shop with lavendar and honey products made from right there on the farm. You can walk all over the farm including a 6 mile loop to enjoy, wildflowers, trees, a sunflower patch, of course lavendar and more. There is also a great event barn.
Beautiful farm selling all kinds of lavender products such as lavender honey, lavender ice cream, lavender lemonade soda, soap, candles, maple syrup and so much more. Free to walk around their grounds to take as many pictures as you want. You can also pick your own lavender for a small fee or buy them dry at the store. They have a beautiful barn for weddings and events too. Overall a beautiful farm to stop by if you are nearby
We love lavender hill! It is a delight to see and smell and walk along all the rows of so many different varieties of lavender. The store is great, too, with different forms of lavender, lavender honey, shortbread, ice cream, oils, etc, all of excellent quality. We stop by whenever we are in town.
Took my Granddaughter on a road trip to Lavender Hill Farm, it was such a learning experience for both of us. The people are so nice and they tell you all about all of the different types of lavender and what kind you should grow for the different things you want to do with it. They had an amazing little shop that smelled wonderful and they sell everything lavender, even Moomers Ice Cream Lavender Vanilla! They have an awesome big barn for events! We were very happy with our visit and we will return!
I love this place! I can smell the lavender in the air the minute I step out of the car. They have u-pick lavender, lots of areas to walk around and check out or even sit and relax a while, and a shift shop with lavender infused home & bath products, clothes food and more! I definitely recommend the lavender ice cream.
This farm is lovely. Several acres of lavender are growing. Its a beautiful sight, and when its quiet you can hear the buzzing of thousands of honey bees tending the lavender. We saw a wedding going on here, it looked really nice! Its open to the public and a really unique sight.
A beautiful, idyllic place no matter whether the lavender are in bloom or just harvested. The buildings and grounds all make a pretty picture wherever you look. The big red barn is a beautiful, inviting venue and they have first- rate talent showcased with good lighting and sound. And the lavender products cover the entire gamut.
Great morning at the Farm. Worth the side trip if you are traveling around Boyne City/Lake Charlevoix, Michigan. Informative tour, lovely gardens and friendly staff. Even took home a ‘starter’ lavender plant. Gift shop carried a variety of lavender products from oils to soap, ice cream to bug repellent all made from lavender.
A year ago, I would easily have rated this a 5. But that was then and this is now. Why the 1, very simple, any American business that refuses legal tender, the American legal currency, does not deserve even a rating of 1. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. There is absolutely no excuse or reason not to accept cash that is legal tender. These owners dont even deserve to own this business in the USA. Nothing but a bunch of anti american owners who violate the laws of this country. We were prepared to spend a decent amount of cash there today. That changed. Hopefully the owners wake up and realize this is still the USA.
Neat little roadside farm with homemade lavender products. Lavender syrup makes great margaritas. Kid friendly with trails going around the fields you can walk around. Check out their event calendar as they have an old barn onsite they converted into a stage and bring bands in all summer as well as show movies.
It was one of the most relaxing farms they have a small trail on there farm which me and my family walked on and it was very nice to see all of the lavender and the smell was amazing. I would recamend to go to thus place and everyone was very kind I would definitely come back here again
My friends and I went out of the way to stop here on our way home from a camping trip, and were disappointed to see that the shop was closing as we were getting out of our car to walk inside. We were hoping to spend some money and thought that the owners wouldve offered to stay open just a couple minutes for us to look inside and buy a few things to take home. Instead they just turned us away, but they said we could look around still if we wanted. However, by mid August almost all of the lavender has been harvested already so there wasnt much to see. We wasted gas and over an hour of our time... if you want to visit make sure it is closer to mid-July, and also make sure you get there well before 5pm.
My daughter puked as we were pulling in and continued to after getting her out of the car. A worker brought us wet towels without asking, offered to do laundry and even a hose shower. We took him up on the hose, washed my baby up and still were able to browse .Because we were on a time restraint, we werent able to do much with the fiasco.
Lavender Hill stands on a highland above Hortons Creek and Lake Charlevoix, not far from a bookstore full of Hemingway lore and a boarding house where one can stay where Hemingway stayed.Around 2015, Lavender Hill went up for sale and I called the phone number. A woman answered. She and her partner wanted to retire, hence the sale. She quoted three quarters of a million dollars for all the land, the business, the customer list, the fields planted to lavender and the barns. She explained that the barns stored boats and RVs, a cash stream that could help pay off a note.I loved the place. On the Fourth of July weekend, I took a nap in an Adirondack chair overlooking the fields. I texted friends. I delayed the inevitability of driving home to Muskegon.I see the business continues, but under what ownership?Pictures swiped from Facebook, captured by the excellent photographer, Renae Hesselink, July 2018.
Purchased products in their gift shop..was very disappointed once I got home and hardly any scent of lavender smell in all of their products I purchased:-( Called to advise that I was not satisfied..no return phone call. Mailed products back and never received a refund.

2022-06-06Many things to do at the Lavender Hill Farm. One can walk around the fields of lavender, shop in the farm boutique, plan a wedding, go on tours and learn to cook with lavender. In addition concerts are going on at night time on specific evenings. I found out that this year 2022, that the lavender will be blooming at the end of July a few weeks into August. Really love visiting here.

Highly recommend signing up for their Lavender Essential Oil Distillation Workshop; you’ll learn the distillation process from start to finish and get some wonderful items as a part of the class! 2022-06-21They have a lot of lavender, if thats what youre into. Peaceful drive to the location with rolling hills. You can walk the fields or take a guided tour to learn details about lavendar that will afford you the opportunity to break the ice, close the deal, or impress your friends and family. Friendly staff. Wouldnt recommend to anyone that has type 1 mediated hypersensitivity to Lavendar.

2022-06-18My wife had made visits to the Lavender Farm the last few years. We were seeing the sights and wanted to drop in and show me why she enjoyed this venue. I was impressed by the setting and then the quality of gifts and collectables. Our experience was further enhanced as Dawn helped us and explained the varieties of lavender plants available to purchase. We made our purchases and then walked around to see a new structure under construction. We happened to ask a question to a person we assumed was one of the staff and discovered she was an owner. Erin and her daughter Flynn were very excited about their business and all the activities planned for this season. We will be back for our own enjoyment as well as to see this grow as a must see destination in northern Michigan!

2021-07-03This was an enjoyable detour on our road trip through Michigan. Easy to find, parking a breeze. We paid $5 each for the golf cart tour that gave interesting information about the farm, the geography, the lavender plants, and how they extract/harvest it. College students give the tours and are passionate about it. Lots of things to buy. All are said to be locally sourced. All in all, it was about 45 minutes. It’s not a massive farm but worth a visit.

The lavender store has something for everyone and the staff is friendly & knowledgable. You can tell they are passionate about their work and want to share it with as many people as possible.

2021-08-18One of my favorite places, the smell of Lavender is amazing. Cute little gifts, and definitely try the soda and ice cream. So worth it
