Comment: We were so happy with our recent stay at this hotel. The staff was amazing. We lost some medication during our stay and they were so helpful. The room was clean and the view was amazing. We were there to celebrate my daughter turning 21 and I was really stressing on picking a hotel. This was the perfect choice. I also wanted to recognize the superb service from in room dining and valet. Loved our visit!!!!!

Comment: The room was absolutely lame. The receptionist did not care about the fact they gave me a room ten feet across from some apartment that had writing on the window. Felt like I was in 1984, the book, not worth booking. Who cares if I’m a member, nobody

Comment: Recently, we visited Santa Monica, and we were looking for a place to stay. Our daughter suggested Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica hotel.Upon arriving at the hotel, we saw that the exterior and interiors of the hotel were classy and elegant. We were greeted by the very warm and welcoming staff, starting with Hugo, the porter who helped with our luggage. Then the front desk staff greeted us with champagne, and especially Tracey was charming and very helpful in every interaction. When we got to our floor, we were very impressed by how comfortable the beds were, and how clean, light and airy the whole room was!The next morning, we went down for breakfast and were warmly greeted, especially by our hostess, Praveen, as well as the food and beverage managers, Steven Diaz and Francisco Guzman, and the whole waitstaff who were pleasant and attentive to all our food requests. The food was also first rate.I would gladly recommend the Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica hotel to anyone whos visiting Santa Monica and looking for comfort and elegance at a very reasonable rate!

Comment: Poor customer service from the front desk. We arrived past midnight and we’ve booked room for the next day, we asked if we could do early checkin the next day but the front desk staff does not allow us to do so and thats fine and so we sat down at the waiting area to check on our bonvoy apps for rates the same night and the same front desk guy came to us and ask us to go as the staff need to clean then we go to the other part of the lounge which was cleaned to continue check on the rates and the same guy came and chase us away and said that no one is allow here- we are shocked! Hotel lounge is a common waiting area for guest. It’s just plain rude and disrespect of your guest- as we already book room for the next few days here. We decided to cancel the room and not to stay in this hotel with arrogant staff and poor customer service. This front desk staff is only money minded as they do not value guest and show no concern. Also, the parking rates came as a surprised!$60 per night.

Comment: What a nightmare! We couldnt walk out of the hotel without being harassed by homeless people. We did not have working wifi the entire trip and the technician was unable to solve it. We also didnt have a working phone. We were charged extra for both everyday. We were promised money back but never received said money back. I have no idea how this is a four star hotel. It also took over an hour on the phone to try to get money back about our stay which was promised -- and we still have not received that money back. Hopefully they can remedy the situation as this was our only vacation of the year and it was a nightmare.

Comment: Great experience at this hotel from check-in to check out. We were greeted and helped by Darius who set us up with an upgrade and explained everything we receive (2 glasses of champagne, beach yoga, and breakfast with the resort fee). The other guests were also super friendly. The room was nothing spectacular but it was clean, quiet, and what we needed.Great location and very walkable to the Pier, shops, and restaurants.Definitely will stay again next time I’m in SM!

Comment: Stayed here for 3 nights and had mixed feelings about the place. The initial staff member we checked in with was a bit stand off-ish when we questioned our room upgrade from a standard king to a double queen deluxe. Im still not so certain it was really an upgrade. The construction noise right outside our window started very early in the morning, as did the school marching band practice, and the young kids in neighbouring rooms. The Queen bed we slept on sagged in the middle and I really regret not requesting we have our room with a king bed like we initially booked. Now onto the positives: The room was ok, a bit dated but I didnt mind the decor and overall look. The cleaners were really nice and did a great job. All other staff members were wonderful, especially the lady in the cafe. Location was good. We hired the free bikes from the hotel and rode down to Venice beach and other days we walked down to the nearby mall and Santa Monica pier.

Comment: The place was clean but service was poor. I also expected better facilities like tea/coffee inside the room, a microwave already present(it was provisioned on request). Parking was also not included and it came in as a surprise that they charged 60$ per night extra to park onsite. We had requested house keeping for Day2 but no way stopped by to remove Trash and replace towels. Did not expect this from a Marriott facility.

Comment: While the workers at the hotel were very nice, they could not make up for the protests that occurred each morning I was there from 7-9am. It made my stay extremely uncomfortable. My room smelled like mildew.Id advise the hotel to pay their workers so that they strike can end, otherwise I cant imagine anyone reading reviews would book there.

Comment: The hotel is at a good spot, but there’s a lot of abandoned houses and shady characters around the area. The hotel room itself is old and not as clean as it can be. Lastly there’s a protest going on (for the last couple months apparently?). While I don’t have comments on the protest itself, it feels like the hotel at the very least can provide ear plugs or something for the inconveniences. I would not stay again.

Comment: As of 4/3/24 there were still people on strike outside the hotel. They showed up at about 7:30 AM but were gone by 9 AM. The hotel has tons of security guards, so felt safe the entire time. Valet and check in was easy, wasnt too long of a wait for valet every morning, but they do warn you it can take as long as 20 minutes so text the # on the ticket before you leave your room.Rooms: There is no coffee maker in the room, but they do have coffee offered in the lobby. There is a small refrigerator and safe. The bathrooms are definitely outdated for a Le Meridien (shower curtain) but the rest of the room seemed to be in fine condition to me (balcony was nice) and the bed was comfy. The room was clean when I checked in as well. This hotel definitely felt like it has a lot of guest turnover and was very busy.Other Hotel Amenities: Gym/Fitness center isnt the greatest but certainly not the worst Ive been in, its like 3 hotel rooms combined into 1 room. Water bottle refill station was in there along with 2 Peloton Bikes, 1 cable weight machine, lots of free weights with 3 benches, 4 treadmills, and 4 ellipticals. Pool & Hot Tub had cabanas which seemed out of context. Did not see Penthouse or Mezzanine level for events.Location: about 15 minute walk to 3rd St. Promenade/Pier and 10 minute walk to beach. They had electric scooters outside so could have zipped around faster, but chose to walk.Overall, I would stay here again.

Comment: Just found out after disputing the bill that they have a $33 a day amenities fee to pay for the pool and gym and supposedly free champagne, you pay this whether you use or not. This should be disclosed before you book, it is clearly deceptive and misleading conduct. They also have protester shouting and blowing horns early most mornings, that’s never mentioned it’s apparently been going on for months.

Comment: Free breakfast if you want to be treated terribly for using their voucher they provide. Most of the staff walks around as if they are better than the customer. The waiter seating people and taking breakfast orders is rude stomping around with a poor attitude.Dont bother asking for any traveling advice, as you are treated with fast, stern impolite answers. Its the typical feeling everyone has experienced, when the culture of the working environment sucks, and the customer holds the burden.Top it off...got woken up at 5:00am to a crowd gathered outside the entrance. The crowed was blowing horns, screaming on a megaphone, and making so much noise. Come to find out it was former employees protesting better wages.I guess that explains the poor customer service !!!!

Comment: I had a very bad experience in the hotel. On my day of checking in, they charged $1800 to my card. And 5 days later on my checkout the front desk person informed me that my card got declined and Id have to pay the amount again. She talked to be rudely with a dirty look on her face. They are rude to foreigners I guess. They ignored my distress, did nothing to release the hold they created on my card, made me pay $2000 before i could checkout. Now, even after 20 days, Im still waiting for the refund of $1800 that got deducted on the 1st day.My emails and complaints to hotels customer care has not been addressed. My card issuing bank is saying they cannot revert the amount because the hotel hasnt acknowledged it/ released it.Please dont go to this hotel. Especially if you are not from US.

Comment: The room was relatively clean besides the crumbs and hair in the bed. The bathroom was dusty. For some reason, the elevators close at a certain time. You will need to walk down rusty, creepy stairs. Then walk through the parking garage because all the doors at the bottom floor are conveniently locked. I didn’t enjoy my stay. It wasn’t clean enough for me. The customer service was decent. I would never stay here again.

Comment: Was happy to be at Le Meridian Delafina Hotel in Santa Monica for AFM 2023 (American Film Market) October 31st through November 5th. Attending a film conference, I wish they had more elevators, plus they worked a little faster. Spent a lot of time waiting for an elevator but it became a networking opportunity to meet other people and definitely an exercise in arranging your meetings by what floor they were on before moving on to the next level. Beautiful location with views of the beach nearby.

Comment: Great place to stay however, watch out for the additional charges. My team came to Santa Monica for a business trip. We went out for the evening and we have some smokers. Someone left a half joint on the balcony and to my surprise got a bill for smoking in the room. No one smoked in the room but because house keeping found the joint they say we smoked in the room. Once I rebutted this the front desk then said “we are a non smoking facility” the argument was that no one smoked in the room. There is nothing posted that you can not smoke outside. I asked repeatedly for them to reconsider and the house keeping manager refused with out hearing me out. I asked for it to be escalated but no one reached out to me. Watch out for extra charges. On another note is that the employees were protesting loudly with sirens, drums and horns every day early in the morning. Not a restful stay by any means.

They will return the money after we check out. On Sunday 10am we check out. Our final charge was $400, so I was expecting be returned the money, insted of that I got charge another $600. My husband and I call and they could explain the reason and they keep saying they will return money. How can they keep charging after we check out?, why didnt let the guess know they will be charging more the $200? My family and I travel a lot and never happen to us before. The service it was ok. Please be aware of this place and make sure they dont hide charges after you check out.

Comment: Unfortunately had a really bad experience here and would not recommend at all. Stayed for 5 days- all 5 days, we were woken up at 630 & 7 AM to loud drums and vuvuzellas. Im absolutely in favor of the right to peacefully protest, however the security staff of the Meridien allowed those who were banging drums & vuvuzellas to ENTER the LOBBY of the hotel & the staff was unaccommodating & unapologetic relevant to the challenging situation this made for guests. Our 2nd floor mezzanine room meant we couldnt get any sleep, but the hotel would not move us. The hotel itself experience was poor- dirty showers, poor gym, and plumbing issues that also werent accomodated for.

Comment: Property conditions are old and poor and in need of renovation - bathroom showerhead low pressure, rust along the drain, and the room had a bad smelling stench the whole time…. Possibly due to old carpets?? Beds were not as bad as most Marriott’s (typically I find them sunken in and causes back pain). Food at the restaurant is really overpriced compared to the quality so I would avoid. The positives: free champagne each day (2 glasses but most of the staff doesn’t keep track) and unlimited water bottles. Balcony is huge and has lounge chairs.

Comment: Terrible customer service and hospitality. My flight into LAX was cancelled because of a huge storm and I had to come in a day later. I called ahead and told them I would be delayed. When I checked in, the front desk told me they gave my room away… like WHAT? I called you and said I was delayed. I booked a king bed with the scenic view. They said that was no longer available and that I would be getting a room with two queens on the 2nd level with no view… terrible. The front desk didn’t lady didn’t even seem apologetic, then had the nerve to offer me champagne. Like what, no I don’t want your cheap champagne in a plastic cup. This place is terrible, will never stay here again, they should be ashamed. Very overrated, plenty of other places to stay in LA.

Comment: This place is fake fancy. The only thing going for it is the location. Overpriced drinks and food, crazy expensive parking/ valet, wall paper peeling off the walls in the halls and rooms, very cheap room fixtures. For the price of $200+ per night, I was expecting much more. The price for what you get is not worth it. If you want to spend this much and get your moneys worth, stay at the Huntington, or a Broadmoor property, or the Omni.

Comment: So after a decade of coming here, and many nights at Bonvoy Hotels as an elite member, this was a strangest stay I’ve ever had. Check-in is normally great at this hotel. But the person who checked me in at night my first night was rude to the point where I would say he was mean. One of the elevators was out, so that created a huge backup for the entire week. All understandable, it happens. Bad staffing happens. The craziest thing was my second night there I came back to my room late in the evening after attending an event nearly an hour away, and there was a room service tray full of food in my room. Food is ice cold, clearly been there for a while. It was so strange that I took a photo and shared a few laughs with some friends the next day about it. I went down to the front desk in the morning, to let them know that food was mistakenly delivered to my room, and I assume that they probably had figured that out already last night because if a guest ordered this food, they would’ve surely called down to see where it was and they would’ve figured out the mistake. Nope. They actually were surprised, it was news to them. They said they would credit it back and apologized for the hassle. One week later, I get a voicemail saying that they spoke to someone who took the food order and they confirmed my last name and room number, and that they would need to charge me for it. Not sure how they come to this conclusion when I was miles away from the hotel for hours when the food was ordered. Oh and I never used the phone. Now I have a job of tracking them down so they can actually take care of their own mess.

The workers are currently on strike which left the rooms dirty, extremely loud outside with the protesting and zero accountability from management. On top of which we were not warned about the current situation when booking. Theyll lie straight to your face, CHARGE THE SAME PRICE and when you confront them and ask for the basic amenities youre entitled to, get dismissed with the protesting workers blamed. Comment: We flew in to LAX, but had to be in Santa Monica the following day. We had probably passed this hotel dozens of times without realizing it was there. We are so happy to have found it though because it is a hidden gem. From the time we arrived and met the parking attendants we were well taken care of. The hotel is across from SanMo High School and parking is generally tight in the area (from past experience). Check-in was seamless, and we were met by a friendly hospitality staff who gave us bottles of water we could help rehydrate with. We chose to eat in at the restaurant at the hotel. Prices were not out of line with local prices for the area. We all decided on cheeseburgers, which anyone can make decently, right? Each one was cooked as requested, and they were perfect! Whether well, or medium, some with toppings left off, or on, they were some of the best cheeseburgers any of our party of three had tasted. We are old enough to have had plenty of burgers over the years. Service was impeccable, glasses were never empty, and after a long day of travel, greatly appreciated. We were upgraded to ocean view rooms. You are roughly three city blocks from the Santa Monica pier. We were on the 4th floor and from the balcony rooms we had you could see a pretty expansive view of the shoreline. We have stayed in hotels closer to the beach which claimed an ocean view, and the only way it could be so was if you could crane your neck and look down the block to see what was a postage stamp compared to this view. You are looking over buildings, especially on the lower levels, but it was certainly a nice surprise and good view. There are two chairs and a small table on the balcony, so whether you want to take in the sunrise, or enjoy the sunset, you can do so. The room was spacious, clean, not new, but well kept. There were some photos of beach goers from decades to a century ago which was interesting to see. The bathroom had ample counterspace to spare. We only spent one night on a weeknight. Our friend goes to bed very early and the only thing he noted as a potential negative, for some, was the high school band practicing, which we did not hear, but we have a portable sound machine so we are not quite as sensitive. The following morning everything was done with as much professionalism as we had experienced the dsy before. It was also nice to meet one of the housekeeping staff who could not hear, or speak, but was doing her utmost to get the room ready for the next guest. We had tried to explain we were done in our room, and going down to check out. There was a senior staff member nearby who was there immediately to relay the message. It was truly a blessing to us to stay at Le Méridien.

Comment: Classy on the inside, a little wear and tear on the outside. Elegant lobby and bar area. A couple of major issues: only one elevator was working so it was often a five minute wait. We woke to no hot water the first morning which was not ideal, but it was fixed before lunch. They comped breakfast to make up for the issues. The breakfast was good and the service was great. The upper floors have a view of the Pacific. The beach, Santa Monica Pier, and Third Street Promenade are all less than a mile away.

Comment: I would give 6 stars if I could. I arrived late at night and forgot my credit card, but I did have apple pay. No other marriott would let me check in, but Sherrod at the front desk was truly heroic in finding a way to get it done even though he also did not have apple pay set up. It required him to go through a cumbersome process at midnight as he was ready to go off shift, but he did it courteously. Moreover, I observed his interactions with the security guard and other guests and I was truly impressed with his kindness and courtesy. Really above and beyond, even for the hospitality profession.

Comment: Would never book with Le Meridian Hotels ever again! First of all they only do valet parking which charges you roughly over $50 dollars a day which is ridiculous!!! so I suggest finding parking/garage nearby. Secondly the beds are way to firm and soft. You sink in and it is hard to get out of. They charged you for internet. YES you heard that correctly. You dont get free wifi. You dont get anything for free here. My most important complaint was that early in the morning was woken up before 6am every day of our stay with protesters being super loud and on top of that there was construction going on all through out the day. So definitely not a quiet hotel. Shouldnt even be 4 stars more like a 2.5 star hotel. We paid over $2,000 for four days. What a rip off of a place. Not to sound like a Karen but this is all true. You have been warned. Our vacation wasnt enjoyable with this experience!

Comment: This place was very expensive... The next morning, there is a Union Strike out front which wakes up my son and I from 6:30 AM... It lasts all morning/all day... BANG BANG BANG, yelling and screaming. The hotel knew this was going to happen but still booked people without warning them. I called the person in Charge of Billing/Receipts to see about a Discount/Refund, and I have never received a call back after leaving a voicemail.

I worked there temp while the strike was going on and while I was on my lunch break they told me that I didnt meet there standards. Afterwards I went into one of my rooms that I did took pics, and looked the same as if I just cleaned it. they dunno what they are doing. That what happens when you get uneducated people working at a place that needs more training. lol

Comment: Its 6:30am on Monday, July 31st, and Im wide awake in my hotel room because the hotels union workers are protesting outside with drums and whistles. Passing cars are responding by honking. Theres also a large scale construction project happening across the street. So, this is definitely not the quietest location at the moment.PROS: The hotel location is good. The hotel is about a 10-12 minute walk from the pier and 3rd Street promenade. The hotel rooms are sufficient. The beds are very comfortable. The WI-FI connection was great. The lobby is inviting and beautiful and the check-in process went smoothly. The valet staff are excellent. Your car is brought to you very quickly. We received excellent service from everyone we encountered.CONS: Our carpet has a slight mildew smell but that is probably not typical of the other rooms. The bathroom does not have a fan vent so the room gets humid with each shower. The A/C turns on and off which can be bothersome especially during the night. Parking rates are expensive and the pool is relatively small.Overall, the hotel is good but Im not sure if I would stay here again.

Comment: We’ve stayed for almost a week and housekeeping showed up every single day and left the room spotless. I really appreciate that! The shower was quite tricky, you need to regulate the temperature carefully. The staff, from the servers to the housekeeping, the guys that help with your luggage and the valet attention was exceptional! The facilities were always clean and we had a nice time at the pool as well. The downside is definitely the area.Close to everything if you have a car but if you want to walk to the beach, pier or downtown, it may feel like a long walk. Also, I strongly recommend to check the pillows as they were really uncomfortable. Actually, the bed itself was uncomfortable but the pillows were definitely the worst part.

Comment: Had to report three maintenance problems when we arrived, only two of which were fixed during our stay.Rooms are ok, but relatively small.Gym is small but functional.Pool is tiny, and was populated by boorish drunks on the only day we went.Parking steep at $56/day + tax. What annoys me though is the policy of US hotels to charge additional “resort fees” on top of the price you pay when you book, for use of the “free” amenities like gym and cycles - once these are taken into account the hotel is quite average for the price.

Comment: Hotel is ok but not really up to date. They rent out bikes for free which is very nice but thats their only contribution to sustainability. No sign that towels can be reused, only one time paper and plastic cups instead of a coffee mug in the room. Sparkling wine comes in a plastic cup which is environmental unfriendly und without style. The shower is not up to date and has minimal water pressure. Staff is nice. Location is so so with a lot of empty buildings, trash and homeless people around. Overall I would try to find something different next time

Comment: Loved the view, stayed here for 6 days. Very close to the beach and lots of restaurants nearby, our room door is not closing properly though, so everytime we close it when we thought its close all the way but it wasnt. Didnt have any problem with the security, so we felt at ease. Trashcan always dont get to put any trashbag, not sure if it just in our room or what. So we asked, thinking maybe they just forgot but on just one day they put one and the rest no bags. We assumed theres always complementary breakfast but we probably just woke up late, theres one morning I went down early and didnt see any complementary breakfast so we just walked around to get breakfast nearby. On our last day (Saturday) thats when we saw complementary breakfast, so not sure if its not everyday and just certain days, dont know. Pool is nice heated too. So all in all with the price pretty ok.

Comment: The hotel is fine, a little run down, but not awful. It is in Santa Monica, so youd think the location was great, but it isnt where youd likely want to be if visiting LA or especially Santa Monica. Oddly enough the shower was excellent when I checked in, then barely had water (and it was cold) when I showered the next morning. The biggest issue I saw was the night manager (Kenn). I watched him berate a family for allegedly not returning darts (they have a gaming room with darts and a pool table). The family mentioned they set them on the counter and he insisted they didnt and made them hold the elevator until he could verify. The darts were right where they said they were and he didnt even apologize. It was very awkward and uncomfortable for everyone on the elevator. Less than an hour later a guest asked for salt and pepper for their food order. Kenn insisted the kitchen was closed and there was no condiments available. The guest asked about the bar area (the bar was closed, but it is part of the lobby area). Kenn was irate about the whole thing as the guest just walked into the bar area and took salt and pepper from one of the tables. This property is supposed to be a luxury type property, but the night manager treats the guests like they are at a motel. Very disappointing!

Comment: The location is great in Santa Monica. Staff was friendly, and very helpful. Overall, the room was fine. The bathroom is quite small, and was very humid. We had to keep the AC on to keep it manageable. Room was clean, and housekeeping came daily. Keep in mind, the walls are thin, we could hear our neighbors entire argument one night... not great. Valet service was nice, but $56 a day; no self parking option existed. If it came down to it though, Id stay here again.

Comment: The room truly is beautiful but these rooms already arent cheap, on top of that they charge a TWO HUNDRED dollar deposit. Thats absolutely ridiculous for the price of the rooms. No parking except vallet which is like $50. I will NEVER stay here again. We were scared to leave our room a little dirty because of the deposit and the possibility of not getting it back. The night prior we stayed in a cheaper hotel that was just as clean (little less fancy) that had parking and all that. The only upside to this place is maybe the location as it is fairly close to the beach but the price is just WAY too outrageous. Like I said never again. Im very unhappy with this stay. If you stay here I hope you have cash to burn because it is NOT budget friendly.

Comment: Ok, it was farther from the Pier and Fairmont where my event was taking place. The room is your typical Marriott Starwood type room. Clean, good pillows, etc. Expensive for what you get but this is Santa Monica. The area is nice but you will hear construction very early In the morning as they are building a high school across the street. I rented a car but at 52.00 a day parking, I left it in the hotel and Uber or walked. In hindsight, since I was there for only 3 days and 2 events, I should have not rented the car as parking is expensive and gas is over $5 a gallon.

Comment: This is an ok choice for a mid level hotel with a pool, within walking distance to the beach, but dont expect luxury. The rooms are a bit dated, dont have coffee machines or robes. Our shower was laugable- almost not worth having one, the water pressure and volume so low. The phone in the room was not connected so theres no calling reception for anything. Most of the plug outlets did not work. It can be pretty noisy in the hallways outside the room, and the air con is so loud theres no way you can leave it on overnight. For the price, would expect a little more care over the room- wash the curtains, provide robes and in room amenities.

Comment: I opted to stay at this hotel for a wedding in LA, as it seemed to be in a convenient location and was moderately priced. I would NOT recommend staying here as I feel like the value of what I paid did not reflect in my stay. First of all, the room I originally got placed in (230, right by the elevators) had a giant gap between the door and the door hinge which allowed everyone to clearly see into the room. I tested it out with my boyfriend and while standing at the foot of the bed he was able to see that I was holding up 4 fingers from the outside. Luckily we were able to switch rooms immediately, but it was annoying that we had to take the time to do that since it was a busy wedding weekend. We also valeted our car (surprisingly more expensive than the Ritz in MDR - here, it was $58/night I believe) and literally heard our car screeching into the parking garage. I think the valet driver was tired or something since we arrived late, but we are pretty sure he didnt realize the emergency hand brake was on and therefore didnt release it before driving off.My cousin also opted to stay at this hotel and had to switch rooms TWICE due to sewage water that flooded his bathtub (see photo, day 1) and then his bathroom sink (day 2, as he was getting ready for the wedding). It is absolutely absurd to me that that would even occur in the first place, and it occurring twice in the span of a 3 night stay. My cousin is quite unconfrontational, so all the front desk offered him for his troubles were: 2 free room switches and extra Marriott Bonvoy points for a future stay.I would say the main/probably only thing this hotel has going for itself is its location nearby downtown Santa Monica. It is easily walkable if you dont have a car to get down there. Overall, please save your money or spend a little more elsewhere to have a comfortable stay on the westside.

Comment: My family and I had a decent stay here; however, for what we received this hotel was severely overpriced. The hotel restaurant served us lukewarm food. It smelled terrible in the hallways leading to rooms. The building was poorly lit. Comment: Service was great but lots of fees to the convenience fees of 33$ you have to had about 4 dollars of convenience fee tax plus valet parking is 52 dollars plus valet parking tax of 5 dollars so at the end even if you paid your hotel in full you are looking at about $90 per day. We ate once breakfast expensive and not that good (Starbucks located down the street) the dinner was expensive and the portion ridiculous. My daughter took the pasta tasted like airplane pasta my husband had the beet salad put together it would fit in a small glass and the small plate of bread was ridiculous for the price. We were told that we would be upgraded to a deluxe queen room I guess the upgrade is the view on a construction site. Not really an upgrade. The service though was impeccable from valet to check in and out and housekeeper. The complementary drinks were nice but no room service. The fees are just too much. Will come back to Santa Monica but a different hotel. And now I will be careful with all those extra fees

Comment: For the price of this place you would expect a halfway decent hotel. This is not what you can expect unfortunately. I stayed on the ninth floor. The first thing I noticed after checking in and getting out the the elevator was the stench of mildew in the hallways. My room was not very clean either mainly the carpet was sticky. This place offers hardly anything for amenities. There isnt even a microwave in the rooms, and they dont have any snack vending machines only soda ones. They also tack on undisclosed charges at the end of your stay under the guise as a destination fee. I never agreed to those charges and they provided zero benefit. The least they could do is offer a continental breakfast but that isnt an option either. If you want breakfast expect to over pay for mediocre food. Its pretty bad when their competitors are offering better accommodation with better amenities for significantly less. I break the one star down as this. I subtracted 2 stars for the mildew stench and the sticky carpet, subtracted 1 star for the lack of amenities and I subtracted the last star for the rudeness of the staff when I called to enquire about the undisclosed charges. Id suggest booking elsewhere.

Comment: I’m in LA for work and currently staying here for a week. This has been absolutely one of my worst hotel experiences. The first room I checked into had a terrible and strong musty odor so I asked for another room. While the second room didn’t have a mildew smell, it is very dated and dirty. The walls have stains, the shower takes a good 15 minutes to get hot water, the bathroom door hits into the toilet, and there’s literally no mini bar. Lastly, the location isn’t that convenient as it doesn’t have any restaurants in a safe walking distance so you either have to hop into an Uber to grab food or order food delivery (hotel food is pretty bad). Super disappointed and will never ever stay here again.

Comment: Good points, Restaurant staff all very attentive and helpful.Free valet parking still available until December this year .What I do not appreciate is the RIP off resort fees … I do not need a bike or a shoe shine so why am being penalized and paying $33 plus tax for the 5 nights I’ve stayed . This is so disappointing and the rules really need to change to reflect what customers require . I would expect in a country like the USA where usually there’s a great deal of consumer protection then why is this still happening.Different hotel loyalty cards have alternative rules especially when booking using points, both IHG and Hilton do not charge resort fees when booking using your points so why is it Marriott having a different approach.

It was very expensive we were charged for using a pool and a gym that we never used and we baked in our room. We had phoned and complained and someone was supposed to talk to us someone from Marriott someone from the hotel and nobody does a thing. Never again.

Comment: I booked this hotel for a birthday gift to my mom since she was driving from out of town. Check in is at 3pm, however, upon arrival we were informed that my mom’s room wasn’t ready yet because it was still being cleaned. We were told that it shouldn’t be too long and I agreed to wait there so long as it was within reason since my mom needed to change and get ready for the Chargers game at So-Fi (another birthday gift). Front desk said it would be no problem and to enjoy the hotel amenities in the mean time. The issue is that by 6:05pm we still had not been given a room and when I asked again, no one could give an ETA. The game started at 7pm and to anyone who knows LA traffic we were already cutting it close. My poor mom had to change and freshen up in the public hotel restroom because we still didn’t have a room more than 3 hours after the actual check in!I informed the front desk staff our dissatisfaction and that we had to now leave at 615pm without any knowledge of when/or if she would even have a room after the game.We were called at 6:30pm letting us know the room was ready. To say I was frustrated is an understatement. My mom was supposed to be able enjoy the pool and a nice cocktail at her hotel after driving several hours to visit but because of misinformation and poor hotel organization, we were left like sitting ducks. No one offered any accommodations such as a later check out time, complimentary meal, or even recognition in this issue. The room was clean but the hotel is lacking in organization to say the least.

Comment: Had a wonderful 3 night stay at this property. I’m so grateful they had valet parking at no additional fee.Room:Spacious and clean. We had daily housekeeping. We used the sofa bed for my 7 year old to sleep in the living room area.Location:A little out of the way from the promenade and pier. It’s about a 15 - 20 minute walk but we chose to drive instead. Parking around the pier is plentiful and inexpensive. We did not dine on-site or use the fitness center. The bar is fantastic though.I would absolutely return my for my next stay in Santa Monica.

Comment: Okay experience. I had a somewhat last minute trip and this was one of the hotels available in the area. Check in is at 3, but when I arrived around 3:45 there were a bunch of guests waiting for their rooms. We were told we were being upgraded, but that the room wasn’t ready yet… doesn’t make much sense. We picked up a quick late lunch to eat in the hotel but as our room was not ready, we were going to eat it at the bar area with a glass of wine. We were told we couldn’t eat outside found anywhere which generally is fine but if our room wasn’t ready we didn’t have any other choice.Rooms could have been a little cleaner. An okay experience but will prob check out another hotel in the future for a business trip.

Comment: Nice hotel but the worst after sale customer service I have ever experienced in any hotel. I left my prescription glasses in the restaurant. Upon returning home, I phoned the hotel and was told the glasses had been found but I needed to send a prepaid mailing label. I did. 3 times UPS tried to pick up the package and each time they were told the package wasnt ready yet. Then I contacted a manager in housekeeping. Several promises were made that they would follow up and not once was I contacted without calling back myself. In the end, I was told that the person who claimed to have found my glasses had lied (or they lost them) and I would be reimbursed for the shipping label. That didnt happen either. I am a frequent Marriott guest and am surprised that they put their name on this travesty of an organization.

Comment: My fiancé and I stayed here for a week while he was in LA for work and I was working remotely. This hotel was actually perfect and I honestly could have stayed longer! The free coffee every morning was delicious and such a nice perk, the free valet had exceptional service and charged our Tesla every night which was one of those things that would make or break the experience and made everything so seamless, the cleaning service came every day based on when I was out of the room and the free bikes were so much fun - we biked to Venice. I went to an amazing salad place called Alfalfa every day for lunch. Highly recommend staying here - we have very high expectations as far as accommodations go and the Meridien surpassed them.Other great things to mention: awesome gym that I used every day, free water bottles and free glasses of champagne daily. Will stay here again without hesitation!

Comment: This hotel stay was definitely not what my friends and I expected - from dirty duvets, to car keys being lost - this hotel was a literal mess. This hotel did not acknowledge us when we asked for a new duvet cover as during the daily cleaning we were given one with a stain (so now we are questioning the cleanliness in general). We then planned to go out and were handed a surprise when the valet company could not find our keys and had asked US to go through all the keys and find our keys (also not safe at all for the other guests). We then lost our dinner reservations and were charged $100 as this ordeal took half an hour! When we talked to the overnight manager Kay or K about this experience we were told that this valet service is a separate service and NO ownership was taken - although no where in the booking process were we told it was a third party company or that the hotel would switch companies during our stay. Quite frankly none of that is our problem as we trusted the hotel and THEY are accountable for who THEY hire. Then Kay or K decides to send THE SECURITY up to our room with more dirty sheets and no duvet like we requested, not to mention her attitude was horrid. The next day I was told that my resort fees for the whole stay would be waived - my receipt right now has the full charge on it with a whopping $4 waived for the resort fee tax for ONE day.We were charged almost 400 a day for echannel services but the hotel hasnt paid for any services and we werent able to use any provider like Netflix, Prime, etc. This was a HORRIBLE experience and super stressful to stay the least. Dont ever stay here - RUN!

Comment: The front desk/reception staff is not flexible nor friendly, rooms are old and the property is very OKAY (worth $100). There are several alternatives in the 400-$500$ range with updated amenities, rooms, services and friendly staff. I would avoid the hotel unless you have absolutely no alternative! Very strange to see a Marriott property being hosted by unempathetic staff and being so poorly kept

Comment: The housekeepers were the nicest! The free parking, free valet & free bike rentals were bomb. Our fave worker was Jesse (an older Hispanic fellow who was funny & accommodating). He made our stay 100 xs better. The outside was relaxing. The pool was heated, clean & seating was wonderful; even had nice fire pits in case it got too cold at night. I could see the ocean from my balcony!!! The hotel restaurants food was delish & the servers were so sweet! I cannot say NOT ONE bad thing about this place.

Comment: This hotel isn’t worth it - so much needs to be updated or changed. 1. beware of the complimentary valet parking. I called ahead for 5 days straight and still had to wait because they didn’t have a notification system in place to get our cars. Long lines to wait for your car is ridiculous for a hotel like this one. 2. No coffee maker or tea in room. Had to go downstairs to order TEA! Only coffee is available downstairs for free. That is so inconvenient. 3) the bathroom sink had low hot water 4) the air conditioner wouldn’t cool the room enough - old wall unit that needs to be updated.

Comment: I arrived at Le Meridian via another hotels total mess-up and every interaction there was absolutely lovely! The valets took my car right away and there was no storage fee. The folks at the check-in counter addressed me before I walked up and made it an easy check-in. I was there for a special event and staff advised me to book a Lyft the night before to speed things up. The room was very clean and stocked with every thing one can imagine, including water. I had to leave really early the next morning and they were able to store all my belongings. When I returned, the concierge brought up my items right away. My car was also returned with speed. If I could afford this place on a reg, I would only stay here in SoCal.

Comment: I do not recommend this hotel. It falls far short of the Meridien brand. To start, we arrived at noon and asked about early check in. While our reservation said check in was 3:00pm the desk person said it was 4:00pm. We were also told there were clean rooms available for early check-in but it would be a $75 fee to check-in early. I have never seen this before at a hotel where rooms are available but they charge you for early check-in. The rooms themselves were basic, and consistent with a much lower brand/tier hotel in terms of quality and amenities. The carpet in the room was also very dirty (think sticky bar room floor). While some staff members at the were very friendly, most were not. The hotel pool was very small, cold, and surrounded by walls making it feel even smaller. In short, rude/unhelpful staff, cash grab policies, short on cleanliness, below standard rooms, lack of amenities means not a great place to stay. For the price/level, next time I will stay at the Lowes, JW or Viceroy and recommend others look there instead of the Delfina.

Comment: This is overall a pretty good hotel but considering the cost I expected a lot more! The staff are all really nice especially Jimmy and the hotel is generally pretty clean. The bar closes at 10 which I found pretty ridiculous especially in a hotel of this type. We wanted a coffee but could only get champagne from reception haha normally would have been ok but there were no coffee facilities in the rooms either so walked to the nearest 7-11.Bathrooms in the bedrooms are a bit run down.Location is excellent and the bike rental is a nice touch. On site parking facility is very good too.Pool not bad but pool area could do with updating.

Comment: Weve booked a premium room for 2 people, in this 4 star hotel for 2800 USD a week. The water was leaking through the ceiling in the first night, and we were relocated to another room which turns out to be quite a bit smaller. Shower seems to be 30 years old und the hotel doesnt even have USB charges. We were promised another room with more modern facilities by the night clerk but the management is of the opinion we would need to pay another USD 110 if we wanted to upgrade to something that has got a modern bathroom like it is shown on the hotel website.. Bad service, no apologises, still waiting if we maybe can get another room. The place is pretty run down and needs a renovation, the carpet is dirty, only 1 chair in a 2 bedroom rather low ceiling room and you pay more than USD 300 a night? So if you think you should be staying here make sure to check your room before checking in and dont simply trust that a Mariott would have a certain standard.

Comment: I am a Marriott Titanium Lifetime member. Stayed at the hotel in mid-December for a night. I specifically asked for my room to be serviced and A/C fixed. When I came back at 4pm, neither was addressed. The front desk person said that housekeeping had left for the day and was unapologetic. I left for dinner and came back and the A/C was still not fixed. An engineer had to come at 10pm and fix it in front of me. I asked to speak to the GM the next day and no one ever responded. I never got a survey request from Marriott so now posting a review online. This hotel service is abysmal.

Comment: This hotel has 4-star potential but not able to execute. Our 5th floor room with partial ocean view was nice except for the loud partying next door to all hours of the night. After 2 nights of no sleep we finally approached the front desk and were given a room that they said was “comparable”—absolutely not! The caution tape around the outside of our 2nd floor absolutely no-view room was very disappointing. I would have thought they would have tried to make it right given we had done nothing wrong. Would not recommend this hotel-definitely better options in Santa Monica at this price point.

Comment: The staff at the hotel was very nice but it is badly in need of a renovation. The room was not very clean and the furniture was stained and worn. The picture of the pool was not the hotel pool, the hotel pool was tiny and crowded but clean - but this was the view of an empty algae slime pool out the patio of my room added to the overall sense that the place is falling apart. It is also not in a great area, late night food options were 7-11 and an Arco convenience store, though during the day it was a short walk from nicer areas. You have to ask for coffee, but once they delivered it - its Illy pods and very tasty. The shampoo is nice, too - Malin + Goetz products smell amazing, but unfortunately did not make up for the smelly carpet.

Comment: Stayed for 3 nights in October 2021- Booked me into the wrong room (two doubles instead of one king)- Told me they didnt have any of the room I booked- Told them well, I am not getting what I booked/paid for, so how can you make this up to me? The initial response (at 11pm at night, after a 6 hour flight) was well, we can check you out if you like? (!!!!) Terrible customer service. I responded I have been on a flight for 6 hours and it is 11pm at night so I most certainly dont want that, and that is a very inappropriate suggestion. Then spoke to a manager who said shed refund my resort fee for one of the three nights, and change my room the next day. Not the greatest gesture ($30 or so on a $1000 stay) but I guess better than nothing.+ The room the next day was great, nice balcony and spacious? Gym is small but okay? The pool is nice, but the bar, Longitude, was closed from 1-3pm which was not mentioned to me at check in and was not on the hotel website (which says open all day). So was a bit disappointing having to wait 1.5 hours to get some food by the pool when I got there at 130pm one day. When they did open, it was pretty decent sandwich+ They gave me an hour later check out which was nice- They still charged me the resort fee, and I had to ask to get this refunded. I still dont think this refund has happened- Had to ask for a coffee machine, which was delivered, but this should be noted at check in. I wasnt told about this.- All in all, the service / efficiency wasnt there for the brand / price

Comment: We were here just one night before flying out of LAX, needed a place with free parking for a rental car. We had a great stay here, right from the start with free valet parking and friendly front door staff. Inside was quiet and well decorated. Our room was clean, also well decorated, and the beds were comfortable. Service staff out at the pool were excellent and the pool was a great spot to relax and unwind after our long week of travel. We got a couple small plates that wee tasty too. Our toddler loved swimming in the pool, they have nice seating out there. Later in the evening the pool side got a little busier. We were able to walk to Santa Monica Pier in probably 15 mins or so. Pricing for the hotel seemed average for the area when I booked, maybe a little on the higher side but all in all I felt like it was good value after staying there, and would stay there again.

Comment: I really wanted to give a higher rating but I practice keeping it real. The staff was excellent and the best customer service I have experience in years. Parking is included in the cost for the room which is a great savings. Please note that finding any type of parking is an adventure or costly to the pockets. The location is away from the noisy Santa Monica boardwalk traffic. Please note that you will need to walk about four blocks to be in the mix of things. The problem is that the rooms have extremely thin walls and ceilings. You can hear everything from neighboring rooms all hours of day/night. I could hear personal phone calls, coughing, phones ringing, footsteps on carpet and people using the bathroom. Overhead, the sounds of every step as if the ceiling would collapse at any moment. In short, my hotel room was not a place for rest and peace. Attempts at Sleeping required ear plugs or compete exhaustion. Extremely disappointing but want to thank the staff for all attempts in trying to make things right.

Comment: Our stay was from August 20th through the 25th. We came in on a late flight from NYC and didn’t get to our room until about 1:30am. Unfortunately upon arrival our bathroom shower was filthy. What we thought was just was rust come to find out was left over sewage from the shower overflowing. We called down to the front desk and the receptionist on staff apologized, but didn’t have another room to match what we had paid for. She said maintenance wouldn’t be in until the morning, but we will comp this evening due to you not being able to use your shower. The next morning maintenance came and we waited about 4 hours for the issue to be fixed. We thought the issue was fixed seeing the rest of the day we did not have any issues. The next morning however it happened again and it started to flood our bathroom. Come to find out this issue was with the room next door and their sewage was coming up through our shower and making our toilet clogged. Upon speaking to the hotel manager on duty Josh, he offered to move our rooms and to comp another night which we thought was fair seeing what we had been through. The rest of the stay was pleasant and we were glad to no longer be dealing with any other issues…After getting home we realized only one night was comped and and not two. We have been going back and forth with the hotel and Marriott customer service and are being told nothing can be done, and that it was handled. Which is was not. As a Gold Elite member this has been seriously frustrating and we will never stay at this hotel again. What makes it sad is that the hotel was aesthetically pleasing, and the staff was friendly. It could benefit from an upgrade, but other than that it would have made for a great place to stay when visiting Santa Monica again.

Minutes away from the Promenade, close to Malibu and right next to the Interstate 10 and PCH. The rooms are nice and I had a nice view of the ocean but it was just a few blocks away so you are not right on the ocean. The balcony is very large with lounge chairs to layout if you want. Literally every experience I had with the staff was FANTASTIC. They honestly gave the best service I have had as I was there for 8 days and ran into minor issues and all resolved quickly!!!! You will not be disappointed.Nice lobby area as well! And you get bikes to rent in case you want to bike down to Santa Monica Beach. The hotel food was decent. I didnt eat there much because I would prefer to have an experience at the local restaurants instead.

Comment: The good:Very clean! Great location to the beach. Easy to grab local transit. Great a/c! Amazing customer service!! After I got to my room they called to make sure it was all ok. The most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in.The less than good: Old carpet in the room smelled weird. All the lampshades and a couple pictures were askew when I went inside (just seems like an easy detail to attend to). No coffee in the room?? For what I paid (almost $800 for two nights) you’d think they could put a Keurig in the room. Also no cups in the room, but housekeeping got me some quickly. Good coffee can be found downstairs but it was $6. Too steep but that’s how it goes. I’d stay again!

Comment: The staff is this places saving grace, they all had really polite and pleasing attitudes. Other than that though, I feel like this place wasn’t worth the money at all. Between Priceline getting me for an extra 40 dollars and the hotel charging you an amenity fee for basic things like microwave or pot to heat water up it seems like this is a place for the upper class to use as a bragging right. I’ve stayed in Holiday inns that were more accommodating*considering Holiday inns keep microwaves and such in your room from the start”. First the room had a great view of the alley and building behind its wall. The fact the kitchen closes at 10 isn’t a big deal, but then you have to ask for a plug in kettle because it’s not provided in the room, so to make your own food is kind of annoying. Then I wanted to treat me and my girlfriend to at least one meal in bed so I called to order room service for breakfast, but apparently they don’t do that. Paid 50 dollars for a continental breakfast “a croissant and a fruit bowl” and eggs Benedict breakfast, That I had to go get from the bar. Also confused as to why they couldn’t do room service when I saw a server walking past me down the stairs with food in his hand. He literally had to walk past my room to do so, so I’m wondering why they don’t offer room service ”especially because we had such a basic room on the mezzanine level”. Guessing there kitchen is in an awkward spot so they have to. If that’s the case the least they could’ve dropped off our to make the room less mediocre and somewhat give us a worth while stay. Literally for the 500 dollars a night we spent I would’ve expected to be treated like rich folk. All in all save your money and just drive to Santa Monica if your middle class, especially if you’re working class like me.

Comment: I sent a crew to Santa Monica for work this past weekend. I called ahead to the Meridian to confirm they could bring my card I used to book the rooms. I also checked to make sure they would have adjoining rooms and lastly to make sure there was room to park a trailer. I was on hold for quiet a while with customer service and they confirmed all three things. Upon arrival, the rooms were not adjoining, there was no available parking for the trailer and there were additional fees not stated ahead of time that required my crew to use there personal cards to cover. I dont recommend this hotel for business trips. They did report the rooms were nice quality. Maybe for a vacation it would be appropriate spot to stay.

Comment: I never write reviews but this hotel was so bad I had to. Not worth the money. This is a old, cheap and poorly maintained hotel. 1st room had no sheets, no remote, broken A/c unit, missing lightbulbs in lamps and the mirror was falling off the wall. Add to that the chipping paint mold smell and no ventilation in bathrooms it’s easy to see why the hotel is in poor condition. We were moved to a “better” room. This 2nd room smelled like mold, had paint chipping and falling into the shower. No sheets again just a comforter with old makeup stains on it. But at least this room had a/c. Parking was hilariously terrible. They block in every car so u have to wait a while no matter what to get your car unblocked. Or they I’ll simply park your car in the entrance so people can’t get in and out of the hotel. Overall one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. Would rather sleep with one of the homeless guys all around the hotel. At least I would feel like I didn’t waste my money.

It was our interaction with Frances, her generous accommodations to our requests and her warm, personal, gracious, hospitality that started our wonderful stay. In our reservation note we had mentioned this was our first visit and we were celebrating a birthday. Frances greeted us with choices to all our requests. We had been upgraded from a queen size bed to a king. We were also given the choice of another room higher up, with a shower stall: but only two twin beds. We choose the initial room with another generous consideration on Francess behalf. Due to covid19 restrictions we were told that housekeeping was not available for stays of less than four days. Understandable. And then Frances offered to book a visit from housekeeping halfway thru our three night stay. Wow. Accommodations after accommodations. And then we were offered two glasses of sparkling rose to welcome us.The bellman helped with our luggage to the room. The room was perfect. Spacious, well appointed, and immaculate. Perfect size closet, generous amount of hangers, and a luggage rack. Not seen as often these days. The bathroom, also immaculate, great selections of towels and a huge vanity. The shelf underneath was a fantastic touch. The King size been was very comfortable. Firm, and gentle at the same time. Comfortable sheets and oversized pillows. Ample drawers for clothes. The enclosed safe, and refrigerator, both nice touches. My favorite was the additional electrical plugs built into the extra large tables used on both sides of the bed. And in fact we did have a view of the ocean, and a small deck large enough for two chairs. Each employee we interacted with was gracious, friendly, and accommodating. From the gentleman maintaining the pool area, to the extremely friendly Latina valet who was directing traffic to the parking garage the last two days of our stay. We also had a concern with the air-conditioning, and a gentleman from engineering was at our door to fix the issue in less than five minutes. The pool was so enjoyable. Just the right size. The patio was perfect. Chairs, umbrellas, lounge chairs and the mini cabanas. Towels available, and a coinvent bathroom located near by. We enjoyed our daily glass of complementary sparkling rose. We also had nightly contact with Frances. Recommendations for restaurants to dine at and places to shop. No question was unanswered. All suggestions were spot on. Our interactions with Frances were always sincere and it was appreciated that our names were always remembered. We were truly sad to leave. Our stay, directed by the consummate professional Frances was memorable. We would in fact stay with you again in the future. And highly recommend The Le Meridien Delfina Hotel Santa Monica.

Comment: Mixed feelings about this place 1st the positives. Great location, the room we had was great spacious with a great view of the beach. Now the negatives. We were only staying 1 night so got there right on check in time 2 hours later we finally got into our room . When you only have 1 day in the area taking 2 hours out of it makes a big difference but counter staff didnt seem to care

Comment: We checked out early after finding our room to be infested with what I can only assume we’re bedbugs. We were given a refund on the remaining days of our intended stay but I asked for assistance with the cleaning bill for our luggage and clothing due to the fact that the infestation this hotel has crept into our personal effects. I’ll post an update once I hear back from Marriott corporate. The staff was unbelievably rude to the point that I had to walk outside and calm myself twice. The “manager “ was no better. This hotel is definitely in my top five worst experiences ever. I also overheard the desk staff talking about a guest whom they felt their religious beliefs determined the tip they left and that’s as far as I’m comfortable relaying. I seriously do not even want to repeat what this guy said. Anyway I would stay in a teepee fashioned out of dumpster material before staying here, or any Marriott affiliate for that matter, again

Comment: Had a lovely stay at Le Meridien. Very nice and fancy, better than expected actually.Parking spots are a bit tight, but at least there’s no additional fee which is nice. Staff is friendly and available and charge you an additional 35$ fee which however includes a cup of sparkling wine per night and the hotel also has free bike rentals. The hotel is 18 min walk from 3rd street promenade and the 15 min from the Santa Monica pier. Optimal location to visit the beach as well.Room was nice, clean and quiet. The pool was open and allowed up to 15 people in the pool

Comment: I’m very disappointed with this hotel. I booked my room 3 weeks ago to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my husband. We booked a suite with the jacuzzi in the balcony we paid a very high rate. 1 day before my reservation I get an email, not even a call, by the director asking to get in contact with the hotel. I called the hotel and they told me the suite I booked and already paid for is no longer available due to an emergency. I understand emergencies happen but the options the director Bruno Santos provided were not held as satisfactory standards. I felt the hotel did not make an effort to accommodate this inconvenience. Unfortunately our plans have been canceled due to this unexpected circumstance.

Comment: Super high prices compared to every other review Ive seen for the little accommodations that they had.The room was great and the view was really beautiful, but I ended up paying close to $700 for 2 nights. After reading some reviews, it seems the pricing was vastly different.I definitely felt like they should have discounted the rooms because there were no services other than the pool.I would like to see this place when its fully running because it was a bit of a let down during this time.

Comment: Very nice staff at the desk but the hotel is a little bit tired and needs updating. we just checked in for a weeklong stay in two rooms and we were told that we were upgraded to the deluxe suite room. The room is tired and needs a lot of updating/maintenance. The bed is comfortable but it feels a little bit run down and that is disappointing

Comment: I booked a stay here for our work group trip after a friend had recommended it to me. I must say it was everything and more! Booking for large groups can always be a challenge, but Rose, the Exec. Manager, really made the process so easy. Not only that but she truly went out of her way to ensure everyone had a pleasant stay. The staff was so welcoming, professional and hospitable. We really utilized all areas of the hotel from meetings in the lobby, to doing work in the office space, and not to mention definitely the free champagne at the bar was a treat! This is now my go-to for Santa Monica and has led me to really adore the Le Meridien brand. PS- Thanks again Rose for going above and beyond!

Comment: Nice clean rooms. We had a spectacular view of ocean and mountains (north side). Very friendly and accommodating staff. A game room where you can play pool, darts and shuffle board. Cute bar. Small workout room. Walking distance to beach and Santa Monica pier. Cruiser bikes to take (they come with a lock). The only downsides; pool was closed for renovations and the shower was not on par with the rest of the room.

Comment: Amazing hotel! Excellent customer service! The front desk check in with Samuel was the best service I have ever received. The bar and restaurant were very nice. All of the decor was so perfect! The pool cabanas were so nice. The room was fabulous with a private hot tub on our balcony and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub as well. The bed was so comfy too. Comment: Its listed as a high end hotel however they do not have a hot tub. Their pool is listed as heated but its freezing cold. They had loud construction going on, on our floor, during our stay. There TV remote wasnt working. The staff was unfriendly when I spoke to them over the phone. The hotel is shiny and pretty on the outside but not so much where it matters. If youre spending the money spend it on a nicer hotel. Or just go to a Best Western, they have a hot tub.

Comment: Amazing experience! The hotel itself was beautiful and our room was spacious and comfortable. In addition they do not charge an overnight fee for your vehicle but instead offer a free valet service. The hotel did everything in their power to make sure we had the best possible stay. When an issue did arise they went above and beyond to remedy the situation and make me and my family feel like they truly cared. I would HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel if you are looking to enhance your stay in Santa Monica.

Comment: I love this hotel. Ive been staying there for years, even back when it was a Sheraton. The location is great but what really makes the experience is the staff. Comment: A beautiful hotel located less than a mile from the Santa Monica pier and beach. I did not stay here. I was working an event in the ballroom in the penthouse. The views from the bathroom and meeting rooms is absolutely stunning... you can see from Catalina to Downtown L.A. Excellent food provided for lunch and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Only downside is the complete lack of any kind of loading dock.... which means unloading onto 6th street on a hill and then everything has to go up 3 stairs😳 then into passenger elevators.... not fun. And the location in Santa Monica means dealing with traffic.... absolute nightmare. The views and the service make up for it.... just be prepared for that load in and load out. Would love to stay here.

Comment: Stayed for just one night on a quick business trip. Overall great service from the staff and complimentary valet was a huge perk given other hotels in the area charge$40-50 a night for parking. Room and bed were comfortable and clean. Very close to the beach, have to walk a couple blocks but not a big deal. I could see a tiny bit of ocean from our window.

Comment: The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are nicely set up. Staff are kind and helpful. overall the hotel was really nice, close to the beach and good service other then in the restaurant. the restaurants food was sub par especially for the price. I ordered n eggs Benedict and the eggs were a little over cooked, the potatoes tasted like theyve been sitting out for hours. and the sauce was too thin. dinner wasnt any better when ordering the beef brisket. I would still recommend the hotel just dont go to the restaurant. save your money and stomach and go walk around near by. try the Caribbean place just down the street

Comment: Although we didnt stay over at Le Meridien, overall experience was excellent. Customer service at the valet and the front was great, the walk way to the elevators smells fresh and nice. Most importantly, the restroom at the reception area was always cleaned up after each guest uses which was extraordinarily, and loved it. Next time we will be around that area and need to stay over, we definitely stay at this hotel based on our experience.

Comment: We loved this place so much that we ended up staying twice during our California trip! You cant beat the perks of valet parking, complimentary wine at check in and bikes that you can rent onsite that are included in your stay! This hotel is about 5 blocks from Santa Monica pier and is close to so many neat restaurants. The lobby bar has a great selection and the staff is extremely friendly. The pool area has ample seating which we enjoyed in the mornings while sipping the complimentary coffee. I loved the decor of the room and the comfy beds. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to be close to the pier!

Comment: When it comes to service, the staff at Le Meridien do not disappoint. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by valet. The $30 resort fee includes parking, use of beach cruisers, car transport within 2 miles of hotel and coffee and tea bar in the morning. The lobby has tall ceilings and bar and a great vibe with a variety of intimate seating areas. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony with ocean view. There is a pool and outdoor area around the pool. Love the location too! Other than the amazing view, the room was a little disappointing. There was only one night stand, even though there was plenty of room. The room was a little warn and only supplied with 2 towels, 1 wash cloth, 2 hand towels, 1 small bar of soap and small tube of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Another frustrating thing that I encounter is almost every hotel is the name on the label of shampoo and conditioner is so small compared to the brand name. I wear glasses and it is very challenging to read the fine print on the shampoo and conditioner containers. I know I am not the only person who has this problem.

Comment: This is more like a 2.5 star review, but that is not an option. I really wanted to like this hotel, as Le Meridiens are usually pretty nice. The lobby here was beautiful, and the sparkling wine at check in was a really nice touch. The staff was pleasant with the brief encounters we had, but I did get a bit frustrated with valet as they had been calling out make and models of cars as they were being pulled up, but neglected to call out ours, and since we couldnt see where it was pulled up, we just stood around waiting. What really bummed me out were the facilities: our room was in some serious need of a deep clean, and some remodel work. I should have taken some pictures, but did not.The tub had rust spots on it, as well as the molding along the floor and ceilings. There was a layer of dust on the desk/TV stand, and the refrigerator had not been cleaned out from the previous guest. Housekeeping must have rushed out of the room while preparing it, as a folded up top sheet had been left on the desk as well. We used the pool for a bit, and while the cabana area looked nice, the pool itself had rust spots, and the ladder to exit was super loose and felt like it would fall apart if someone too heavy used it. All in all, I would not be likely to stay here again, and Im happy that I had used points to reserve, as I would have been really upsetto pay out of pocket for the place. I really did want to like it, but it definitely fell short.

Comment: Not a bad stay. Champagne upon arrival and free bike rentals (though we waited forever to get our bikes after being led to two different people in guest services). They also have a game room to watch the big games and hangout with friends. The outdoor pool seemed small but nice and the indoor bar was not bad. For food - they dont have anything vegan and do not go out of their way to accommodate. For example, I needed a microwave and they said theyre all taken. The kitchen apparently doesnt use microwaves (eyeroll) and because of that, they dont have a general microwave that can be used by guests. The room, though pricey, was small. We had to call 3 times to get the things we wanted for the room (including a missing, standalone vanity mirror).

Comment: The staff were nice and accommodating, the housekeeping staff were phenomenal. Clean room, pool, common areas. Good location!!! Easy and fun walk to the pier, beach, shopping. My only complaint is that the bathroom in our room had some gnarly mold in the shower/tub, and the pipe under the sink was leaking, but overall its clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar is great for drinks, the food was good but a bit overpriced. Overall, I would definitely stay again, but plan to eat at any of the awesome local places within a short walk.

Comment: This is a great hotel and the service was excellent. Free valet parking and four hours of free use of the hotels bikes. It is a short distance to ride down to the beach and along the Venice Beach walkway. Head in the other direction and you are at Santa Monica Pier. The rooms are clean and modern and had the most comfortable beds I have had in a hotel. Upon arrival you are greeted with champagne (although I am convinced it was non-alcoholic which is fine) and a friendly staff. One of the hotel managers came over to us at breakfast and asked us how we were enjoying our stay and chatted with us for awhile. I would definitely stay here again .

Comment: EXTREMELY nice staff! Clean hotel and a nice location. Room service was a definite miss though. Called three times and they never picked up, and kept going to front desk. Finally front desk took my order on the 3rd time I was auto transferred to that line. Just wanted a cheese burger (which was subpar) after a long night. Took an hour and half to get it... sounded like the front desk forgot to give my order to the food/room service folks, until an hour had passed and I called in to see where my food was. Just a heads up, they have mandatory valet, but luckily its free... except for your tips of course.

Comment: Quick and easy stroll to the boardwalk and beach where I was attending a conference. Aside from a brief kerfuffle on the phone about the impending reservation, the service and service-folks themselves were incredibly courteous and welcoming. The lobby is large and accommodating, plus the free coffee in the morning was an incentive to venture down and hang out on a couch or chair as guests filtered in and out—check-in after checkout—and so on. The rooms were great, as well as the bottles of Dasani that were on-the-house; however, I was really hoping for a walk-in shower with all the modern amenities. Would I book here again? Absolutely.

Comment: Staff are beyond friendly! Included breakfast for platinum members is okay (for a freebie), and the free premium coffee voucher every night is hugely preferred to a coffee maker in the room. Some things to watch out for:. $25 a day resort fee...You can certainly get your moneys worth from this if you use the inclusions. Free valet parking is nice, and they also give you free bike rentals and there is a free car service within two miles of the hotel. The pool is nice, but small. Workout room has a lot of machines, but no space for yoga or the like. If you want a nice place to hang out there is a nice bar on the 2nd floor with a pool table and shuffleboard that is often empty..Also a great spot to work during the day if you are here on business. The location isnt great...Expected to walk a bit or tranist anywhere you want to go, but the car service and bike ease that. All in all I was happy with this place for the price. Its not as swanky as other five star properties but we thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay.

Comment: Everything was incredible! From the scenery off our balcony, to all the complimentary services. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable (pillows were too comfortable and swallowed you whole when you laid on them). Only downsides were paper-thin walls and a rude security guy that assumed we werent guests by looking at us. The security guy walked into the Sandbox (where we were playing pool) and my husband told him one if the sticks was broken, to which the man responded with a shocked look on his face, oh you two are guests here?! I felt incredibly disrespected by that.

Comment: Choosing this hotel was based primarily upon the fact that it had complimentary valet and was 3+ stars. However, upon arrival it was clear the decision was an excellent one.Upon checking in my wife and I were offered a complimentary glass of champagne. We were informed that until 8pm a hotel car would drive us to any location within a 2mi radius. Finally were were told of the availability of bikes during daylight hours, also free of charge.Upon entering our room we found a clean, well lit space with comfortable mattress and linens, and modern-yet-retro-chic decor. The balcony (nearly every room appeared to have one) was spacious. My only complaints were that the bikes were a bit small for my 34inch inseams, and the tv control could be more responsive. The next time,we are in the area, we will stay here Im sure.

Comment: I have traveled all around the world, staying in all kinds of hotels, and this was the nicest and most stunning hotel Ive ever stayed in. Their front desk clerk, Sonia, was lovely and upgraded us to a nicer room with a view of the ocean. Our room was beautifully decorated with stylish decor and great utilities. When we ordered room service, they were quick and the food was absolutely fantastic. I want the chef to know what a wonderful job they did because my husband and I talked about it multiple times on our trip home. The bartender was very helpful and attentive to his guests as well. The Le Méridien has a great staff and they helped make our short time there worthwhile. Thank you!

Comment: Stayed at the hotel two times - on a business trip and one time with my family. The hotel is a bit old but still in a good shape. Everything is very clean. The hotel is close to the beach and surrounded by nice places to walk around. The service is great. People are very friendly. Really appreciated how I was treated as a guest.Only downside was the room size and their upgrade behavior. While the room size is okay for a single person on a business trip, the rooms are quite small for a family. The upgrade policy - especially on suite award points - is highly questionable. Although I am a platinum member and have requested to use my awards 6 month ago, they told me those rooms have been unfortunately sold out...however I was still able to book the suite online?!With this a great 4 out of 5 as the final result.

Comment: Randomly came across this hotel, and Im glad I did. My room has a beautiful balcony with all the basic amenities you could ask for. The tvs are a bit outdated, but everything is clean and nice. That balcony with the ocean view is just amazing. My first room was one over the street, and that was a bit noisy from all the cars, but still alright. The hotel also has an awesome game lounge with a pool table, bar, shuffleboard, big screens, darts, and a bar! Not crowded, so its an awesome place to relax and have fun.The staff is really friendly and the complimentary valet is amazing! Did I mention they give free bike rentals!? Not the best bikes, but still awesome to have.If you plan on staying, get a room with a bigger balcony and ocean view. You wont regret it!

Comment: Great experience. We were in town for a wedding and only stayed one night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Valet parking service excellent. They had to make a special effort to park our RV and we really appreciated it. The room was clean and very quiet, perfect temperature and a very very comfortable bed! Two bottles of water FREE which you rarely see these days. We hope to come back on our next visit to Santa Monica.

Comment: Standard awesome hotel experience! The lobby was was very modern with extremely friendly staff. Everyone was so nice. Be sure to check out their bikes so you can bike along the Santa Monica beach and venture into Venice Beach a little. Surprisingly close to good restaurants and entertainment. Definitely recommend to friends and would absolutely stay again.

Comment: Not bad for the price. Good looking lobby, friendly service. We got upgraded to the deluxe room and it wasnt bad. Not exquisite, but clean and comfortable enough. The AC was noisy, as was the bathroom vent. Pleasant stay overall despite a few minor nitpicks.
