LeafFilter Gutter Protection in other cities:
First of all high pressure sales on my elderly parents. They didnt tell me they signed up for $5500 gutter and leaf filter install. Came 9:30pm installed poorly leaked where they told them ice builds up on deck. Installed crooked and looked terrible. After many calls they tried to seal where it leaked. Still leaks. Now tree growing out of gutter filter what a joke. So I had to get on ladder and pull out with much difficulty. My 92 year old Dad was ready to climb up there till I stopped him. These things do not work please dont waste your time or money. Its been about 3 years so I can tell you they really dont work. I have a picture but couldnt get it to load. So buyer beware of this terrible company.
The price was extremely high even with their rate deductions. I still had to clean the gutters in the Fall and Spring. I had the whole house gutter system done on a new house. In the winter the ice froze over the gutters and in Spring the gutters clog up where any of the valleys join to the gutters. Water then flows over the sides of the gutters. This does not match their warranty. Which include to never have to get up on a ladder again.
They quoted me initially as outrageous amount just to clean/seal gutters for a single-level ranch. When they asked me what I was thinking and I gave them my high-end thought then they magically found ways to get it under that, cool. However, I was very surprised and disappointed that they didnt clean up any of the debris which is now caked on my patio and I have been trying to remove it and more so that my dog doesnt get to it. I guess they are literal in the sense of saying we will only clean what is in your gutters but what we clean and remove that ends up elsewhere is your problem.Down the road project is to get the gutters replaced but I am now unsure of using this company again since if they do not clean up now then I dont want to imagine all the stuff I will have to clean up from them with new gutters.
I would give them zero stars if I could. I went to an rv and signed up for an estimate. They called and set it up. Then they called back and said you have a mobile home and have no one to do the work. I told her its a new manufactured home, has a regular shingle roof, fascia, dried ge etc. She wasnt having it and was really rude. Thats ok because the company that did come out for an estimate got the job. Your loss leaf filter...and dont want to deal with your overpriced and high pressure salesman anyway. They only go for high dollar to pay for all those high pressure salespeople and all their advertising. I would AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
All reviews about quotes are correct! Even told him i need to put the kids to bed and me and my fiance would discuss the price and let him know and he STILL kept pushing. Then said he would sit outside for 10 minutes and let us discuss it, ummm sorry no you wont! Showed us a PowerPoint via dirty binder. Come on dude, get with the times and be a bit more professional. Waste of my time!
High pressure sales. Signed a open ended contact scheduled then no show. No response to reschedule request. Totally sucks. 11/3/21 Gee thats the number I called how times will it take. The phone operator had no idea it needs to have a local contractor to reschedule. But zero response backIf you sign a contract make sure it has complete by date. Then you have an out. Could be next year before they get around to it. Quick to sell then crickets. 11/7/ 2021. Still no response. So much for getting this done quickly. Looks like I will have to hire someone to clean the gutters before the weather turns. Horrible company. Sad the staff has no clue what is going on.
I had requested a quote online, and within a few minutes a call service contacted me to schedule an onsite appointment which was the next day. The salesperson came out, and when I advised that this was a project house he was very upset that my partner wasnt there because they needed to see the product, which is code for I need them here so I can pressure them.He went through the production details, and I will say there were very nice and the quality seemed good. However, for 74 of gutter, I was quoted over $7,000, but the onsite discount brought it to $3,250 and he needed a signature right then to schedule. I read the document, and there is a 72 hour cancellation fee or be charged 25%, so I refused to sign until I spoke with my partner. He proceeded to write down Phone Approval and called to get a schedule! He further told me he doesnt care if I buy or not, but his dad (his boss) doesnt want him to go to the same place twice!Ultimately, I let him proceed and sent an email after advising that we would not be proceeding. Quote requester beware, they will push as hard as possible to get that signature right then - this isnt a small investment, so dont let them bully you.
My husband also scheduled a Free Estimate and very similar to prior reviews, we had the nice turned extremely pushy when we stated multiple times that we were only looking for a quote at the time. We were told the quote would be good for 1 year. The salesman was on time for the 7pm appointment and seemed very nice during his filter presentation. Our goal was to obtain a quote to budget with other home improvement projects before the end of the year. We were both very interested in the product. The salesman let us know that he could drop the price and honor it until 2023. We appreciated the flexibility and continued to reiterate we were interested, but just not today. The appointment started going south as he repeated how he wanted to Keep his guys on Ladders, and how people should not waste the companys time because they have to schedule these estimates and told us you guys cant do $ a month? The estimate amount went from $6,800 to somewhere in the $4,000s. All of his amounts was on a random sheet of paper and we were not left with any information for follow up with the pricing. His last statement made was this price is for today only . It got so uncomfortable as we had a child in the house. It made us wonder how the quality of the work would have been if this is the type of person they are intrusting to be the face of the company. After that experience, we have to now go back to the drawing board. It would be a great idea of the company perhaps reconsidered who they send out for in home appointments.
I had gutter filters installed over this weekend. The sales person and installers were nice enough however during the inspection prior to payment, issues were brought to my attention that I was told would be taken care of during install. I was advised by the installers their boss said “that’s what the warranty is for”. I found that response to be unacceptable being it was discovered during install. Dustin, the very rude and unprofessional project manager, boss called me to discuss my issues. He told me that I “misunderstood” ,”he knows how it goes and the salesman was new”, I had to “call it in under the warranty”, “he had a long day” and finally “if I didn’t pay they would take it all down”. I not so politely let him know I couldn’t care less if they did. I also let him know that his day was not my concern and if he didn’t know how to talk to ppl he should refrain from doing so. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. They are pricey and I have a bad feeling on how future calls for service will go. My gutters are clean though. Installers were nice and left my yard clean, otherwise they deserve a ZERO rating.
Not 100% truthful. I installed leaf filter last year Nov-Dec timeframe. Since it was winter and snowing in Michigan I couldn’t notice everything they did. Now it’s raining and realized that the person installed the leaf filter didn’t clean my gutter which he was supposed to do it as per my salesperson. Now the rainwater overflows from my roof instead of falling via the downspouts. Also I paid for additional gutter installation and leaf filter for it, but noticed that they didn’t install the leaf filter on the NEW gutters. Now I am getting worried about their workmanship and promises, and it is very hard to physically check all my gutters climbing on my roof. They are not responsible for any of my roof damages also if any.Now the warranty doesn’t cover any of these issues.BEWARE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.PLEASE DON’T TRUST THE SALESPERSON.Save your money. (I couldn’t upload my video proofs here..)
I called and made a appointment last Saturday to have a salesman come to my house at 1:00pm today 04/17/2021. I mentioned when I called that I would be getting 3 quotes from 3 different companies before I would make a decision. The salesman did show up on time. He explained why I should buy Leaf Filter Gutter Protection. As the presentation went on he started to become agitated because I would not make a decision. As I mentioned to him I needed to get 3 quotes before I would make any decision. He kept dropping the price 5 times and became angry when I asked if he could write down the quotes. He went from $4,459.00 then $3790.00 to $3411.00 to $3240.00 to $2990.00 then $2550.00 He then went out to his vehicle and came back with a burn price of $1500.00. I know what a burn price is, I wasnt born yesterday. He then said, what your not buying. I said no I am going to get 3 quotes before I make a decision. He then started complaining saying Im not making any money that he took off all his commission. I found that very unprofessional. He told me if I didnt buy right now the deal was off even though he had told me the prices he quotes are good for a year. The guy was so rude I would never buy from anyone that tries to pressure me the way he did. I asked for his card so I could call him back if I decided to buy from LeafFilter Gutter Protection. He refused to give me his card and said the deals off that I would need to call LeafFilter and make a appointment with someone else. As he left my house my house outdoor camera recorded him cussing at me. He put his things in the back of his vehicle and drove off. Im 66 years old and this is the 1st time I have ever had someone come to my house and treat me the way your salesman did. Ive been in sales for over 38 years and now a Coordinator in the automotive industry. It doesnt matter how good your product is if you have sales people acting in this manner. He was definitely someone I would never trust. It was just a horrible way to do business. I would never buy from anyone that represented a company the way he did no matter how good the product is!!!Just wanted to give you a update on my Google review. Just had another company come out. Very polite and professional salesman. His 1st quote was only $1,100.00 installed. I knew LeafFilter was trying to screw me. Good thing I went with the other company!!! I would not recommend LeafFilter Gutter Protection to anyone EVER!!!! LeafFilter Gutter Protection is obviously not committed to customer service.
Very impressed with this company and their product from start to finish. I called on a Tuesday and was able to get an appointment that day. My salesman was Jeremy and he was right on time. I got a new roof last summer and early in the winter was getting ice dams, which I thought were an issue from the new roof as I have no trees. Jeremy pointed out the roof grit in the gutter and suggested that I went with a 6 inch gutter and the Leaffilter system. Darren was my installer, who was also on time and a class act, got the job done in one day, during a snowfall. I was happy on account that the ice dams didnt come back, just some small icicles. Now that we have had a few rain storms this month, I am even further impressed with the system as there is no longer water poring over my gutters and ruining the flower beds. The system was more expensive than I had imagined, but well worth it. Jeremy and Darren were top notch professionals all through and I received an unexpected follow up call from the installation manager a few weeks after my purchase to make sure all was well. Highly recommend!-Marc Lund
BEWARE.... a scam!! We spent about $4,000 on their product. And the gutters fell off our house after the first storm. They blamed our roof being rotten and charged us extra $1,200 to fix it. The gutter installers who came the second time around said that the previous guy cut off our gutter straps which is why it fell off. We have repeatedly tried to contact the company.... not very responsive or willingness to work it out. We assumed that the warranty would cover it, but it did not. Their warranty is a joke. We were paying about $160 dollars a year to get our gutter cleaned, now it will take us about 32 years to fully make this our worthwhile. DO NOT REPEAT OUR HUGE HOMEOWNER INVESTMENT MISTAKE.
LeafFilter came in and replaced our gutters and installed their system which included new gutters and covers to keep grit and green out. The system works great tested by the wet summer we have been having. The team worked through July 4th Sunday to complete the job - tremendous dedication and outstanding service.
Got quoted $4800 for 200ft on a small single story ($24 per ft)Ended up doing it myself for $2 per ft with Gutterglove ordered from Sams Club.Saved $4400 and it only took a few hours to install!Be careful these leaffilter salesman seem more like con artists than contractors.
I was very excited to get these and never clean gutters again. The salesman was nice and very professional. I was scheduled quickly. The installer was prompt and friendly. He got them up in no time. However, with my eye I said that the gutters now appeared to lean to the house and they were on straight with no angle to drain. He assured me that everything was measured and installed correctly. So here I am after a snow/ freeze and thaw and my gutters have icicles. No other neighbor has them. Plus I have a wet spot on my corner ceiling and wetness in a bedroom ceiling.I called for service. I received an appointment for the next week. I then asked for insurance info. A man called immediatelty and sent a technician to check out my gutters.I was not at home when he came, but due to the fresh snow his prints told me that he walked across my front yard nowhere near the house and not in the back.I am unable to reach anyone now and will be making a claim withmy homeowners.I do not recommend this system. Its going to end up costing me a bunch. And I had newly installed insulation that Im sure is ruined. Ill have to wait on the insurance adjuster. Did I get scammed!
Salesman was very pushy and rude. Quoted $5,600 for a job at our house. When I explained that the price was way too expensive he immediately asked how much I wanted to spend. I explained that I was looking for something in the $1,000 - $1,200 range. He immediately dropped the price to $2,000!!! This certainly doesnt say much for the value of the product when their price drops 35% immediately. Obviously the initial quote is to take advantage of homeowners that dont know any different when it comes to salesmen coming to your home. He gave me an old coupon from his briefcase that was worn and dog-eared and showed me a Consumers Report article that listed them as #1 in the gutter protection business. When I asked why the article was from 2009 he was somewhat offended. He did not have a more recent comparison to provide me. He became increasingly angry that I would not purchase anything today and abruptly left, taking his coupon and business card with him saying that I would not be needing these. No written quote was even provided. Having been in the sales industry for the last 20 years I was somewhat surprised by his sales tactics. If he cant take rejection he probably should find another line of work. There has not been any follow up phone calls or email by anyone in the company to determine why I have not purchased. Doesnt say much for the management of the company. I guess if I owned the business I would want to know why a customer did not buy. It would help to weed out poor salespeople and provide additional training to others.
I am completley happy with the product and the service. I use to clean my gutters twice a year and I probably should have cleaned them 3 or 4 times a year. I wanted a gutter guard system for a while but they are all such terrible eyesores. When I saw these at the state fair I immediately set up an appointment.Sean, the salesman, was here for about 30 minutes. He showed me the product, I asked him the price, we set up an installation date. Probably his easiest sale of the year. The installer cleaned my gutters, re-pitched the garage gutter and installed the product on the house and garage. It was slightly more expensive that I had thought, but not enough to make, me reconsider. I never have to get on a ladder and clean my gutters again. They look great, really cant even see them, and we can add them to the list of perks when sell the house.
Salesperson came to my house gave me a quote of $1,500. I scheduled installation and the day of installation the guy showed up late and said the salesperson wrote down the wrong gutter size, wrong color and said it was a one story house when it’s a 2 story house. So the guy said he can’t do the installation and that someone would call me soon. Total waste of my Saturday. 4 days later no one called me so i called the scheduler who was completely rude and didn’t even apologize all he said was it’s going to be more money and wouldn’t give me a price over the phone.. so then general manager calls me and again doesn’t even Thanks apologize for their mistake. He is completely condescending and rude on the phone and says it’s going to be $400 more. His excuse was that corporate didnt know it was a 2 story home. So why are you sending a salesperson to my house to give me a quote if he’s not even capable of doing simply that? Completely shady do yourself a favor save your time and money and go with another company. Worst customer service ever!!!
This company is wonderful. From the appraiser onto the installers. They installed new gutter and their filter product on the front, then cleaned and installed their product on the existing gutters on the back of the house. We are looking forward to never having to clean them again and not seeing any dangerous ice build up. The life long, transferable warranty is a plus.
Very pleased with the decision we made to have new gutters and LeafFilters installed on our home and detached garage. We had a small issue with the layout of where the gutters were to be installed. A mistake with the salesman drawing of our configuration. I accept some of the responsibility because I did not review his drawings. However, he did not offer for me to review them. That said; the company was quick to make it right and did a great job. I highly recommend this system and service.
Sales guys are relentless and pushy. Starts at an extremely inflated price, willing to come down to appear you are getting a good deal. In the end, you still paid too much for what you got. One installer showed up and did my job in less than one day, when I was told a crew would be out to handle the job. I overpaid for the project, but do feel I got the best product on the market. Not worth more than 2-3 thousand at the very most.
Had them install leaf filter on my house last year product works great have had no issues and gutters are still not clogged. Ill admit the sales guy was a little agresive and pushed me a little to make a same day decision. They where my 5th estimate and while they where more then some they where cheaper then junk products that dont work like leaf guard and gutter helmet. I was asked to write a review after install and i was reluctant to do so till I had actually seen if they worked. A little over a year later I couldnt be happier! Thank you for keeping me off my ladder .
Clicked on an ad, got a call, asked for a ballpark price so I wouldn’t waist anyone’s time, they told me they couldn’t give that to me over the phone but would send someone over for a free quote. Once the sales rep arrived he was very nice until I said I wouldn’t make a decision on the spot. He then started insulting me stating “this is why I don’t deal with young people” after dropping his initial quote by 66%… makes me wonder what the first quote was based off of.
I am very very happy the the sale person he was extremely nice and the installer over did hisself because he was very very nice also. I love my job that was done on my gutter and one of my gutters were full of mud that’s why I had ice all over the back of my house near that gutter in the winter. The installer cleaned that gutter out completely (I couldn’t believe all the mad that fall out of that gutter) and said I will not have that problem again.Great choice on my behalf.
In all my years i have never seen a more pushy approach to a sale. so unprofessional. They want to enter into your home to push the commitment when all you want is a quote. They basically stand there till you commit then when you dont they make you feel bad by telling you others signed etc....100 perscent hard sell. There are other solutions. go elsewhere. do not get a quote from these guys.
I was suppose to get an written estimate and it would be good for a year. 1:00 apt and the sales person didnt get to my house until 1:30. After jotting down a bunch of figures on scrap paper he circled one. The price will be around $8900.00!! (CRAZY!) But then he circled another number on his piece of scrap paper with figures and calculations all over it and said if I agreed to having the work done today it would be $6200.00. Knocking of 30%. I said that number was still way out of line of what I ever expected the job to be. Okay then if I agree to a couple of things he could get that number down to $3100.00. Im just looking at this piece of paper with lines, drawings, scribbles, arrows and circles all over it and I said no. There was no written estimate and the prices were totally ridiculous. I think the product is a good one but way over priced!
A sales guy called to ask if we were interested in LeafFilter. After hounding us to schedule a FREE quote, he came to our house. Sat in our front room for over an hour to chat about the product, about the CEO of the company, and just went on and on. He finally gave us a price of over $3K. I told him that we will get back with him in the Spring when we have more money. I asked for his business card and his response, Just call the office. He stormed out of our house while aggressively stating, You wasted my Saturday. I will never do business with LeafFilter because of this guys attitude. You will not disrespect me in my own home (He also walked in with his shoes on and didnt have the courtesy to take them off).
The sales rep never made it into my home! Our appointment was scheduled for 7pm. I admire the promptness of the rep, however a call stating they would be 15 minutes early would have been greatly appreciated due to my husband had a late meeting that ran until 7pm. Nonetheless, that wasn’t the issue, we asked the rep if he had a mask due to the COVID virus, he turned away huffing and puffing childlike as he returned to his van to retrieve it. When we we returned to the door to let him in he stood with his hands on his hips saying, “ I have my mask now”. Totally not professional and due to me being in a high risk category and a homeowner, common courtesy, politeness and consideration was never taken into account.
Buyer Beware!I didnt read any reviews first. My experience is similar to others. What a shame. They seem to have the best product out there but there approach to business is straight out of the Glenn Gary Glenn Ross movie. My sales guy was polite and very educational. However,....In the driveway, he told me that my house was 4X bigger than their typical home and any pricing I might have seen online that ranges from $3500 to $6000 would not apply to my large house. (My house is not that large.)After a great presentation that convinced me that I wanted their product, he asked is there anything other than price that would stop you from buying it?He said it would cost $9,965.I said that I didnt realize it would be that much and thanked him for his time promising to talk it over with my wife. Then, he offered me $250 off with a coupon.I thanked him again and said we would talk it over. Then, he pulled out an expired 15% coupon that he said he thought he could get for me. He said it would knock the price down to about $8,500.After thanking him again, he said that he could combine the offers and get it down to $8,250.Still wanting to do more research, he stated Look, we have 15 crews that we have to keep busy. If I can get you 30% off, will you do it tomorrow?I embarrassingly agreed to this offer. The salesman drew up the paperwork and said that the crew would be here tomorrow morning. However, the paperwork said $8,000 not $7,000.I called him afterward and said that I noticed a price difference on the paperwork. He stated that he never said 30% off and I just misheard him.So, I cancelled the order. After canceling, he reluctantly agreed to do it for $7,000. He said that in order to keep the crews busy they would just do it for $7,000.Later, he told me to name my own price. When I said I just wanted cancel, he offered to take a loss on this one at $4,000.So, they were willing to bilk me for as much as they could get.How can you trust a company after knowing they were willing to gouge you for as much as possible? Its too bad. They seem to have a quality product but lack integrity.
ALL of the negative reviews are spot on.The sales manager came in with a list price of $5,800 and a winter special price of $5,500. After high pressure sales tactics, I stated that $2,000 might be acceptable. Low and behold, he returned with $1,944 as long as we accepted that price on the spot. I still told him I need to think about it. He begrudgingly left, giving us an hour to call back, which we did.We called him back and said that we would move forward for $1,944 (156 ft. of gutter). These conversations took place on a Monday and we wanted install on a Friday. He pushed, stating that the price was only good if we took immediate install (Tues or Wed). Im aware of my legal right to a 3 day buyers remorse period and at this point the MANY red flags were really starting to add up. We complied reviews from multiple online sources and the result was outstandingly negative in regards of service, especially when it came to the sales manager. For me, the main value proposition was the no clog warranty. Supposedly, if the gutters clog they will come out and fix it. In theory if the mesh molds over, it gets replaced. The warranty is no good if you cant get in contact with anyone to see it to fruition.I called the sales manager back to cancel the install. He said, what did I do the paperwork for, and then HUNG up. This completely justified my decision no to move forward with the install. I feel like I just dodged a HUGE bullet with this company.I guess I wont be using them for their gutter tuning service either.Best.
I had Leaffilter installed on my two-bedroom downriver bungalow with only about 100 feet of gutters. My gutters were a few years old, so they re-aligned them and installed new hangers. Total cost of my job was under $3000, and I feel the value of getting them cleaned (and sealed with caulk on ends) and having to never climb a ladder again, was totally worth it. I have a huge maple tree in my backyard. I was so tired of dealing with the seeds and leaves. Great product that works!
I just had a similar sales pitch experience although my sales guy was polite and was not pushy at all. I am concerned that we started at roughly 13K for 426 linear feet ($31 per linear feet) and at the end of the pitch we were roughly down to $13 per linear feet. Again my sales guy was nice and polite, but with all the reviews I am a little worried about selecting this company. Can anyone share if they will go lower than $13 a linear foot?
Geez, not sure how these people are still in business and running national ad campaigns. Like many of you, I experienced 1) an extremely pushy salesperson who 2) would not leave a quote although said quote was good for a year, 3) gradually dropped the price 75% over the course of a half hour when I did not sign on the dotted line right away, and 4) walked out of my house in a huff when I said I needed to sleep on it for 24 hours before deciding to shell out over $1K to them. Ive been in sales for 25 years and have sold several million dollars in products and services. I have never met such a pushy, rude, ill-bred salesperson. At no point did he ask me any questions to qualify me as a lead. He presented a whole binder book of product benefits I did not ask about and that I could care less about. Ugh. Someone get this company a Zig Ziglar sales training book, for Petes sake.
The first price you get is not the price that you will pay... think Art Van, they come at you hot and heavy, but you need to stand firm and wait for a good price. The product is outstanding and worth it, so do what you need to, but dont cheap out and buy something else - this really is the best on the market.
I have never EVER been so put off as I was with the salesman who came to our home. This man was not only aggressive, but was also insulting and incredibly rude. He told us that in order to hold the price he quoted (we are installing a new roof also) we had to give him a check for $500. I told him he was the first person to come out and that we were looking to get a couple more quotes. He replied that he wouldn’t make the trip out again. Nor would he honor that price if he left without a check in his pocket.Honestly, I have never been so disgusted as the way he treated my husband and I. And, I would never recommend this company...Run!!!!!!!
We dont have a big house but some of the gutters are 2nd story, We have thought for a long time about hiring a company to fix our gutters so we wouldnt have to clean them anymore, I started my research and kept an open mind, I had no idea how many products I would find!I even looked at the DIY products at the box stores,All my research led me back to Leaffilter,The company gives a transferable warranty and even gives back your money if the system clogs,(didnt find any other offers like this!)I was excited when I was able to save money by placing an order on a product I knew I already wanted,Product was installed as promised and I couldnt be happier5 starsGreat productGreat company!!
I had Leaf filter install their product on our home in Dearborn Michigan. After having done a lot of research on the products available and having recieved several quotes from other companies. The product is absolutely amazing I have a maple tree locust tree and several pines. This product keeps all the debris out of the gutter. Me ...and my husband have been off the ladder for the last 7 years. The install department was absolutely amazing and my sales rep was great. Yes their product was a little more then other inferior systems but after 7 happy years Id say Id recommend this system to everyone as a matter of a fact several family members have had this installed because of my positive exsperience. YOU GUYS ROCK!
Sales guys are relentless and pushy! The initial list price was ridiculously high, and they haggled like used car salesmen before giving us a discount, then finally coming down to half list, as long as we scheduled the install for the next business day.I got suspicious when I asked for references I could call, and he refused saying it was illegal for him to provide them. This is simply untrue, as long as the references give permission. Then when my wife noticed that a common complaint was they often rush the install date so you dont get your full 3 day window allowed by Michigan buyer remorse law, the salesman tried to guilt us out of changing the date. Well if you think you will cancel, dont buy it in the first place. Thats not the point! We just want the 3 day window we are legally entitled to.When he realized we would not budge on our legal rights, he quickly stood up and said Were done and stomped out.Since that time, they called us 4 times in one day, and are now harassing my wife via text msg, basically offering an even lower price (!!!) and guilting her for not returning messages. We have blocked their number.I would have accepted their price of half list (which comes out to about 16/linear foot) had they not lied and bullied us. If that is their business model, I want nothing to do with them. A shame too, because I think the product itself is actually good.
Buyer Beware of Leaffilter!I had leaf filter system installed on my house last week and I am very unhappy. My primary complaint is not with the product or the installation but with the companys deceptive sales practices and stratospheric prices.I found out about LeafFilter at a county fair in Southbend IN about 3 weeks ago. I was intrigued with the product and agreed to have a free estimate made. The free estimate turned out to be a 2 hour high pressure sales pitch ending with me signing a contract to pay $6335.00 for 235 feet of gutter screen. That works out to $27.00/foot for what is essentially a piece of perforated PVC plastic with stainless steel screen over it. Keep in mind that I could have had the entire roof replaced and new gutters installed for about the same money! The initial quote was $32.00/ft but he knocked $1200.00 off just like that if I agreed to his installation time. I said I wanted to think it over and discuss it with my wife but he told me the the special discount would be void the next day. After signing he told me I had three days to cancel the contract as required by law but, I was not given the contract cancellation instructions which is also required by law.He then asked me when I would like them to be installed. I did not express any preference so he asked if he could arrange installation at his convenience. Well guess what? He had a crew in the area and they could be installed the the very next day. They showed up at 7:30 am and were done and gone by 1:30. In fact it took two men only 6 hours to do the whole job! So much for high labor costs. This included two inside corners and 7 outside corners. The day after I got up on the roof and inspected the job. An entire 25 foot section was missed on the carport. I put a stop on the check and after doing more research and being still within the 3 day time limit I decided to cancel my contract by writing cancel across it and sending via certified mail.It took less than a week for me to get a nasty phone call from the salesman threatening prosecution under federal law for breach of contract. The district service manager left me his number and I called him. He was very patronizing and basically told me I was in breach of contract and subject to a lawsuit. I informed him that I had cancelled the contract and sent it by certified letter. He denied having received the letter. He told me it was impossible to cancel since the work was already done. We ended our conversation basically with him telling me I will see you in court.I found out the next day that the certified letter was at the Farmington Hills post office and that the local Leaffilter office had not signed it and had refused to pick it up even though it had been three days.My desire to cancel was based more on my remorse at paying the outrageous price than anything else. Not wanting to get lawyers involved and wanting peace in my family I agreed to honor the contract if the carport gutter was finished which it was. This is the advice I would leave for anyone contemplating installing the Leaffilter system.Know going in the price quoted is grossly inflated. I have heard that they will take as little as $10.00 per foot. The salesman will tell you the installers are employees of the company but they are actually contract workers who get paid by the job.Never let them install before the 3 day cancellation time is past. It greatly complicates your ability to cancel.Demand the cancellation form with your copy of the contract. You will need it if you decide to cancel. If you decide to cancel the contract hand deliver the paperwork if possible.
I had the experience of obtaining a quote without my husband. The comparison to other products including DIY. After going through our on reciews of all other gutter guard their product seemed to be more logical and durable. My husband was not at home.at the time he heard and observed himself the entire conversation with the salesman Big Al, He would not give a chance to answer questions he only wanted to make a sell. He told me my home was bigger than what the normally do but he will do his best to give me a good deal. He quoted me $ 3,800.00. My husband told me to hurry and get him out of our houme. When I told Al that I would dis3this with my husband he told me that he will wait so I can call him so I can sign now because his crew is very busy. I politely said no I or we will call he then gave me a quote of$2,800 . When said again I will call him he gave me a quote of $2,200. Then I asked then yiu can sign me a dwal of $1,150 and its a deal. He then mumbled then I cant paythe crew. That was the nail in that ended.
Beware of their slick sales people. The product is junk, they do not return phone calls. The entire job they did is disintegrating and falling apart. We have already contacted the Attorney General about this company. Complete scam outfit . Update, two years after install all of my leaf filter gutter covers are covered with leaves. Does not work
I m posting this review while i wait 3 weeks for second call on service .Initial installation: july 3rd. We were told it would take almost all day with few guys and they wud be there in morning. They came around 4 pm: left by 7 or even before.First complaint with first major storm in mi. Water overflowed. Called them. 2 weeks wait. Gave is aug 2nd date. The local guy called july 31st, left msg that he will be there aug 1st. I didnot confirm this or return his call. Yet the crew landed on my property. Told the tenants staying on property that they will return for repair. When i called next day, the head guy said oh there was some debris, we cleaned it. So:1. You didnot clean the gutterbefore putting gurads on, as it says on the contract.2. One of you is lying because tenants were told that repair needs to be done and we are told debris was ccleaned.Problems gets worse with second round of rains: this time 3 weeks wAit. No apologies, no concerns for damage to your property....nothing.Manager is a robot. Keeps saying “ we put u on cancellation list”.We are waiting for sept 10th, 2019 for these guys. They are busy fixing their own installations.Save tourself. Do not use leaf filter.Ps: our fascia board is rotting. Will update u when our basement gets flooded. All thanks to leaf filter. This is a newly build house !
Customer Service is terrible! The job was to be completed in one day but it took 5 days to complete with no show for 2 days in between (no communication for not showing up). The sales guy (Alan) is all nice till you book for the job; but barely talks if you call thereafter to ask any questions & express your frustration on the delay of the job. Sales over promises & under delivers but the guys who actually install is perfection.
In July a storm knocked down a tree branch on my power line, which took out my gutters and fascia. A leaf filter representative came out to my home first week of August and gave me an estimate. My husband and I signed the contract and someone was supposed to come out September 28. No one came. I’ve called and have yet to successfully speak with a manager. The call center says they’ll email the manager and someone will get back with me. Now I fear I have roof damage because it’s open to the elements.Update…I had to go with another company and paid 2x as much as this place contracted for. I followed the suggestion and called LeafFilter back at the number I was given. Someone finally answered and said the reason no-one showed is because they were out of a product. Then they couldn’t give me a reschedule date. Then they stopped answering. The other company came out OCTOBER 30. My gutters are done no thanks to Leaf Filter
I have a hard time giving 1 star! I am having this put on a 2nd story and asked for pictures of after they clean the gutters so I can rest assured my money was well spent. It is a LOT of $$$.THEY REFUSED TO [ICS BEFORE OR AFTER. BTW it is 25% fee to cancel so I am STUCK! NOT HAPPY AT ALL.
After seeing an ad I called. Immediately the operator sounded as if they were in a barn, and proceeded to complain about their PC instead of addressing my questions. After reading reviews (horribly bad) I canceled my free estimate. The operator became very aggressive, and made several passive aggressive comments before I hung up on them.Do NOT use this company.
This is a complete scam! If you unfortunately invited the saleman into your home, he will try to push you extremely hard to sign a contract with 1/3 of the asking price. When this happened, just ask him to leave your house before unfortunate thing might happened to you and cause you unnecessary headaches. No salesman would spend hours (at no cost) pushing you into doing some honest work. Believe me! This is a complete scam!!! An honest company will never try to push you, they get paid for their hard work. Please listen to me. I do not want you to become another victim. If you already a victim, report it to the general attorney & Bbb, write report on social media to help others.
Did not use them do to the fact that the prices were outrageous and sales person was pushy. I would prefer to use a company that comes out and gives me a fair price, not a company that spends hours to demonstrate how good there product is just to justify the extremely high quote. Knowing it’s inflated so you as the costermer can talk them down to a price that’s still way high just to feel like you got a deal.Oh and just another FYI. they like to demonstrate there product next to selective products. Products that have poor raittings. Another words products that are know to fail. After he left my house I found other products similar to there’s but they failed to compare theirs to those ones. I think I will save the $5,000 and install a similar style myself.
Would give zero stars because I never received a call back for my commercial gutter project. The phone number is an automated answering service, so you dont know who is the local vendor providing the services, and cannot contact them directly. Terrible way to do business.
I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone! The salesman was pushy and wouldnt leave our house until we signed something, he was here over 3 hours. The customer service was non existenet when we called to complain after the gutters were up and not looking or working like they said they would. They cost to much to do no more then any other gutter would do. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY! !
Had them installed less than a year ago and now I have major clogging. I have been calling service for 2 weeks now and no answer and no call back. How ironic that the sales team has no issues answering the phone but the service department wont call you back nor answer the pbone.. No surprise there.
The details of my experience are second hand in that I installed a $ 13,000.00 G.A.F.Armour Shield Timberline roof on a customers home in Farmington Hills with great care.My homeowner chose his own gutter protection for going my product(leaf guard by ply gem). This company ripped damaged our roof and components with what appears to clear glue and zip screws through the face of our drip edging.I removed and replaced 45 of 1-1/2x1x3 t style drip edge. The repair was excruciatingly difficult and they have yet to pay out for the damage.Sad...
I wasnt home when the installer got to my house but I texted him that I was on my way and to begin. By the time I got home he was almost done and was getting ready to clean up the yard. He showed me all the spots where he made adjustments and confirmed details that the salesman had put in his notes.

2022-01-13On 11/10/2021 I had a Leaf Filter rep. come to my house to get an estimate on gutter guards. High pressure sales. They measured, explained how superior their product was compared to the competitors then high balled the price at $7,000 throwing discount after discount at you to make you think youre getting a deal. They tell you that if you dont agree to this price before they leave, this offer is gone. Unfortunately, I signed thinking I was getting a good deal. Wrong! After looking into comparable products, Leaf Filter pricing is very high. a few days later the salesperson called me to set up their appraiser to come out to evaluate their numbers. I told him that I did some research and found their product to be overpriced, I did not want to purchase it any more. He told me that if I did not want their product then I would not be forced to buy it. Therefore, I thought the contract was void. Then I received a call from someone at Leaf Filter 1/13/2022 trying to schedule my install. I told him I did not want their product as I had spoken with their salesperson. He told me not to assume the job is cancelled.i can save you a bunch of money. We dont want this to go to collections. This is terrible business practice even if you have a good product.

2022-04-15Do not waste your time. Pushy sales guy gave a very high estimate and got upset when I didn’t want to make a decision on the spot. They were the first company I contacted and needed to shop around. I signed the contract to get him to leave and called that afternoon to cancel. When the office called me to confirm cancellation, the rep was also very rude and unprofessional because I was cancelling. Very awkward.Honestly I could not afford nor justify the $6100!!!! price for cleaning and installation / $4000!!! gutter cleaning for a job that would take an hour or so and my husband ended up cleaning it himself. We also reached out to another company Lake State Cleaning who provided digital proposals and were very friendly They offered gutter cleaning for $200.

2022-06-08Upon my first initial meeting for a quote, the overall experience has been nothing but top notch. Not only are the prices unbeatable, but the service you receive is one of the best. The installers are friendly, timely, and do a great job. It is very easy to get in touch with someone for any follow up questions or additional services. I highly recommend leafFilter for anyone dealing with any budget.

2022-04-21I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jeremy K. and the LeafFilter team. I appreciated Jeremy’s thorough approach to explaining the product. After doing my own research I found that there is not a comparable product and although perhaps not the “cheapest” option I can tell you first hand it’s the best value (they removed some junk that another company sold me on just 3 years ago that created more problems than it fixed). This product has performed just as promised. Bonus, they realigned some gutters as part of the process resulting in much better drainage. If you want a quality product at a good value call LeafFilter and have Jeremy come out and take a measurement! Thanks LeafFilter!

2022-04-12My husband had a representative come out and gave him a high price to do the job after talking he came down in price that we agreed to after the representative was extremely pushy. Contract was written up and signed. The day they came out to do the job we were informed it would be an additional $1400 more than the contract was written up for or they would put back up the old aluminum back up on the house under the gutters even though this was included in the written contract. We did not have them do the job and they are unwilling to work with us to resolve the issue. Would NEVER recommend this company.

2022-07-24Our issue was a temporary removal while we had a roof replaced. The same technician did both the removal and reinstallation. He was a very nice man and he did a good job both times. My only concern was that it took almost 3 weeks after the roof installation was completed to have the leaf filters reinstalled.

2022-07-26Do not do business with this company. I called this company for a quote. I wanted to get guards installed on my grandmothers house to ease her worry. Her house is only an 1700 square foot ranch house and yet this company quoted $10,900.00. This is beyond predatory pricing and should not be tolerated. I will be reporting this to the BBB as well. After pushing his price this guy tried a sob story of how far he had to drive and that we should buy the guards to reimburse him for his gas. I can not stress enough that you should not be supporting this business.

2022-08-02The company is all over you when they are trying to sell their product. However NOONE seems to be interested in how the installation went and whether or not you are happy when the job is done.I called with some concerns weeks ago...crickets. noone has called me back. I received an online review to fill out. I mentioned my concerns... crickets. As a senior, I am now really concerned. What is going to happen if there is a problem with the leaf filter? Do they respond and honor the warranties? I am not feeling that they will based on my experience so far.I have discovered that I could have replaced my whole roof for the price I paid. I am 73 years old and am having to go back to work to pay for this.😥

2022-06-09I got a quote from leaf filter for 200 linear feet of gutter replace ment. Initially I was quoted for $12500 with 20% offer applied. (Regular price he told was around upwards of $16k). I was amazed at that point. Later he brought down the price to $10500 and told that if I give the order the same day. I told him clearly that I will get multiple quotes before I make any decision. All the above #s are written in the paper. After sometime he got frustrated and asked me for my budget for this project. I told him, I would not reveal it as it depends. He later put a new number in his calculator and showed me the number which is around $6300. This price is valid only if I sign for the order the same time. This no. is not in the paper quote. Not sure why they are publishing that Valid for 1 year. Also, customers has full privilege to get multiple quotes from different vendors. Good marketing is that present your product and challenge the customer to do price match with any of the vendors with your same kind product of yours. The price from 12k down to 6k ???? Amazing... After getting that $6k #, I started thinking what kind of service I would get after that.

2022-03-11In fairness, I never hired this company. My review is based upon my initial call. I called to set up a quote for an installation. When I explained it would be just me meeting with them (after they questioned me about who is meeting them), they told me that my spouse would have to be present for them to come do the appointment. What?? I didnt know we went back to the early 1900s where wives couldnt make decisions. I was also wondering what they would do if I made this call prior to being married because I did own a home then too. Hmm.....
