The food and staff is ghetto, they literally serve you Great Value wedges from Walmart.
Really nothing special. The menu is modeled almost exactly like KFC but offers lower quality food. Im not exactly sure why their chicken is considered famous because it didnt taste any different than your average fried chicken. It was also a bit tough, but did have some moisture. The restaurant has very limited seating, no restroom, and youre basically eating with the audience of the staff. The staff also were not all that friendly.
Chicken is hard today guys my daughter was chewing saying it chewy . so i checked my box sure as heck she was right all dried out. so i called he the manager had the balls to say come back. Gas is $3 a gallon.i think not ill see yall tomorrow when im back in the area.

I love their spicy chicken when its fresh and cooked throughly. Otherwise its stale or slimy lol smh. And almost always their biscuits are burnt or rock hard. Get it together!!!

Food and staff are great.Wait times, ordered in drive through at 13.03 and got food at 13.171 car accounted for 11 minutes at the window, 2 others and myself were served and gone in the following 3 minutes. Not sure what the delay was but perhaps could have asked car to pull into parking space and allow others pull through or if delay affected all orders then inform at speaker before taking order.Will still use this location though.
Stopped by to grab a pot pie and while I was waiting at the window, a guy with purple hair ran his whole hands through his hair multiple times. I told the girl at the window, I guess she thinks that is normal. I asked did he work with the food and she said yes 🤢 I asked for the manager and she looked like she didn’t know what the problem was. As long as he don’t wear a stocking cap and keep his hands out of his head, I won’t be back.
They often get our order wrong and the chicken isnt always fully cooked, but they sure are tasty when its done right! Would rate 5 stars if they were more consistent in fulfilling our orders without mistake. Still recommend more than kfc and other competition In the area, though!
What happened to the chicken? Tasted different than all the previous times I have ate here. Even the sides tasted not very good as usual. Its almost like restaurants cant get there usual products since Covid so they just get whatever but they dont tell the customer. Save us all a trip here the chicken from Meijer freezer aisle was better tasting!
The food could have been better seasoned and the person waiting on us should have paid better attention to our order. If we had not checked our order we would have driven away without our potato salad. They need to make sure their customers order is complete.
I dont know what it is about Lees brocolli pasta salad but It is SO GOOD!😋I love it!😍💕The spicy chicken strips are bomb too.

Its such a pleasure to (finally) visit a take out restaurant that has its act together.These folks are always pleasant, efficient and my order is always correct and hot.Plus the food tastes great.Their chicken sandwich rivals any of the others out there and you dont have to wait in line 20 minutes to get it. Good chicken, sides are just okay. Currently understaffed, but thats ok for todays climate. We waited in the drive thru for a good 20 minutes. We identified ourselves as ordered under our name via website. Seems like this confused the drive thru person, who asked and was confused when we said we werent doordash.Honestly, this wasnt a problem, mostly just due to underpaid overworked staff, I sympathize with them. However, they forgot my biscuits, which mad me sad and cry. Humanity will not rest until the biscuit balance has been restored.

Went in to order at Riverview location on Saturday 8/21/21. Music was blaring and they were blasting explicit music for everyone to hear in the store and over the intercom.Very ghetto-like atmosphere. No place for this in a family business! Don’t bring your kids here!
Horrible place. Waited forever for 3 pc meal and a 5 piece strip meal. Ordered tea and then they didnt have it gave me tea in a 32 oz cup instead of a gallon. Which I know it takes 4 to equal a gallon but they gave me 3. But yet i paid for a gallon. We were inside the store for.more than a half hour. Got 6 potato wedges for a order. The staff was very unfriendly and seemed extremely stressed.

I use to buy a large chicken dinner for my family once a week but lately the chicken has been so small. The chicken legs are just bone! Or its Been twice fried. I say that because I worked in fast food for years I know when I get twice fried foods.

I did get served today. However over the past month of so. I have been there 4 other times in recent months and have left without food dó to a food shortage. There was also a time when I waited in line for 45 minutes only to have them turn the lights off 10 minutes before closing. I was the next car. Then they let us just sit there waiting instead of just saying sorry last order was completed.
We bought a 16 piece bucket meal with 4 large sides 20 strips 4 pies and coleslaw the price was great food was awesome store was clean the people were really nice and friendly Id recommend eating here I know we are repeat customers 😀

Terrible service. We visited Lee’s last night 12/14/2020 and purchased an 8 pc mixed meal and bought a few extra sides a well. Firstly our order was totally screwed up, they gave us 3 wings 3 thighs and the rest of the chicken was chicken strips and they also forgot more than half of our sides so naturally we gave them a call to let them know they had completely screwed up a simple 8 pc bucket meal and were met with total disrespect and rudeness. My wife called and immediately they stated that they were closed, so my wife tried to explain that they had messed up and we were just looking to get the sides we were missing and maybe some actual bone in chicken like we paid for, the staff was completely unprofessional and were arguing and getting loud with my wife and actually hung up on her. I will NEVER give this place my business ever again. They offered no refund and no replacement, so think twice before you buy from Lee’s.
Great chicken! Very similar to KFC but, thats because the people who started KFC together split up and went their separate ways and Lees kept the original recipes for every item sold where KFC started changing and watered-down the potatoes and gravy. But Lees still has the home made feel and taste. Lees most definitely has KFC beat when it comes to quality!
Chicken was excellent as always but drive through was VERY slow. Choose sides wisely if you arent going home to eat, as NO utensils or napkins included. I ordered buttered corn, which was basically a bowl of melted butter with corn swimming in it. Very greasy & tasteless.
I love the food at Lees, especially the slightly-spicy Extra Crispy recipe. The meat is so moist & juicy, the coating is delicious & crunchy. Original recipe is very tasty & has a thin layer of batter.The employees at this store are very friendly & helpful.The lunch specials are a very good deal.

Ive been going there ever since I could remember, They got the best and I mean the best coleslaw I have ever had. Great atmosphere friendly people. I would highly recommend Lees famous recipe, if anybody loves coleslaw you would not be disappointed.
Great experience from the time I walked in. Attentive staff, acknowledge me upon entering, walked through items on the menu and very knowledgeable. Chicken was fall off the bone great, great side portions to feed the family and the Chicken pot pie was easily the BEST my wife has ever had. We will be back!
Crowded misplaced my order gave food to person before me
Service is terrible. I asked for ranch for the strips. Got to the window paid, gave me a bag with the boxes of strips saw no ranch or honey. Said I need the ranch and honey they said that they had put them in the boxes. Got home guess what no ranch or honey. Wasnt very happy especially since it was for my kids and they were not pleased either.
The 2nd shift staff consists of a group of criminals. I only received about 2/3 of my order that I paid for. I called to speak to the manager . She was rude and unprofessional . They ripped me off then acted like I was inconveniencing them. Lees on Riverview has went down hill.
Great chicken, no surprise there, lots of choices, sauces & sides. Long wait to order but the food came up quickly. The staff were quick and friendly, no problem there. The location can be somewhat difficult to get into and out of because of its proximity to a busy intersection. Definitely recommended and I will be returning.
This restaurant is whats my family eats about two times a month after church on Sundays and is never a disappointment. The prices have increased a bit over time but is still has the best pasta salad Ive ever tasted! Very helpful staff clean facilities!
Drive thru is awful. Three cars ahead of me and waited about 25 minutes. Lee’s on Westnedge is much faster. Probably just get Hardings chicken next time. 😊 Will not go here again.

Long wait in drive thru, they were out of ranch dipping sauce and Cole slaw, and the employee was rude, asked for my receipt and was told it was in my bag which it wasnt, then she finally gave me a crumbled one which she had obviously thrown in the trash. Food was good and hot though.
Just need to learn which pieces are dark meat, and which are white meat. That applies to previous 3 times there, also. Still decent overall, with a very friendly lady working the drive-thru very well.
Chicken was underdone, coating wasnt golden brown but blonde and didnt taste done. Disappointing, couldve had a good burger somewhere.
Good food, I’ve never been unsatisfied with my meals. However, customer service is a big N O. I came here during a very rushed lunch break and ordered a meal with two sides. I made it back to my job site and to my surprise I had no utensils in the bag. I called the resturant to express how upset I was that I could only eat half my lunch and explain how important utensils were to ppl eating on the fly and when the employee answered the phone I was placed on hold for several minutes after they heard why I was calling. Once customer service matches the food,the resturant could be something special.
Why are we picking and choosing when we’re going to have our lobby open that’s not good customer service whatsoever I come here quite often and I’m sick of having to sit in the drive-through when there’s a perfectly good lobby and perfectly (not so) “good” employees in the back to take my order it would be different if it was always closed it’s not get it together
As far as super greasy chicken goes, this place is far superior to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). The reason I rate four is not necessarily because I think this place is absolutely excellent, its because compared to other fried chicken based fast food restaurants, this one is the best one in this area. The chicken is good, and they have decent coleslaw and okay biscuits. The liver and gizzards meal is unique and actually great. The one star is knocked off because other than the chicken, gizzards and liver, and maybe the macaroni and cheese, the food is not great. Still, its better than KFC.

Ordered a 20pc. With five sides only received 3 sides. Talk about upset,, first time at the Gull Road store, incompetent individuals at that location. Been a frequent customer of Westnedge, and are order was double checked. The employees are very incompetent and dont have ANY CUSTOMER RELATIONS. CLOSE IT DOWN.
The food at any Lees famous recipe NEVER disappoints!! I live for their jumbo strip meals! 3 piece and 2 sides is enough to stuff me like a Turkey for several hours!

I eat here at least two to three times a month they always accommodate me wanting my chicken straight off the grease and they give me a time to be there so that I can make sure that is hot the manager is very sweet she always nice to me friendly courteous polite as well as humorous I love her shes a beautiful person

I will never eat there again. They dont wear a hat. Only one employee used hand sanitizer. The girl with the long braids was very rude and kept scratching her head. This was on Riverview Dr. And they were out of a lot of stuff.

I went to the Riverview restaurant today it was HOTTER THAN OUTSIDE! some of the staff were walking around with frozen towels around their neck. The floor was wet and had muddy wet footprints on it. Food good service good the girl was friendly, but its too hot for them, get your air fixed

I love Lees Famous Recipe, there were two of them where I lived in Kalamazoo Michigan, I live in Florida now and the only choice we have here is Popeyes and Kentucky Fried Chicken ( yuk )
My experience at Famous Recipe was terrible the reason is they took my money then they forgot I had paid for my chicken and they never brought it out to me so I went inside to ask what the problem was and the young man that had took my money so readily said do you want to order something I told him I already had ordered and paid for my order but I never received it since he told me to park in front and he would bring it out to me I stayed there over 30 minutes trust me it wont happen again because I will never spend my money at Lee Famous Recipe again I demanded my money back I got it back and I will tell all my friends never to eat there either you have too many kids on your riverview store! they are of control they playing to much they cant get the orders out! So you get no stars from me

2022-07-12Always a delight to visit these chicken. I tend to go for the chicken breast and it didnt have any ready they were considerate enough to tell me that I have to wait 15 minutes for them to get done. I waited to 15 minutes seemed like a long late but they was on time it was hot and fresh. A very appreciated me on as my companion whos hungry I said thank you it was very good.

2022-06-27I stopped and bought lunch at Lees store on Riverview drive-in Kalamazoo and was given the wrong order. I did not know this until I got home and I immediately called and spoke to Tina. I returned to the store to be compensated for the meal and I was told that Tina was in the bathroom. Tina had taken my name when I talked to her and I gave that to them. I was in the drive-through burning up gas and it didnt seem to matter to them. Your customer service is horrible and I will never stop at this place again. The lady who waited on me today I was told was new and she made a mistake.. I didnt have an issue with that. What I didnt like was a p*** poor treatment that I got.This store is in a predominant black neighborhood and maybe thats why they felt that they could give less than stellar customer service. I never want to go to this store again. Do Better!

2021-12-24Stopped by the Riverview location to pick up a family chicken dinner to celebrate Christmas with our parents. I was so impressed by the staff at this location. Everyone was so friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. You can tell this staff loves their job and each other. So nice to see this especially this time of year! Merry Christmas!

2022-03-18Drove over a hour for a bunch of liver dinners the staff was great very friendly. Restaurant was clean. Made us fresh livers. We will most certainly will be coming back to thus store.

2022-05-05Come all the way from Battle Creek to kalamazoo to eat there. Grew up on Lees chicken been going to the same spot for as long as I can remember. Nostalgic!
