AMAZING!! My son loves it here. Every time we drive by it to go to Brighton hes like going to baseball... Had to keep telling him not right now.. We are signed up for this session of baseball and he is excited. We loved the training sessions previous and Im sure we will love this one too. The staff is great with the little kids. We are even more excited to get out little girl into soccer this session as well.. Our kids love the legacy center and we will continue to let them be part of the team. Thank you for bringing such a great facility to our community. Keep up the great work.
To start with Legacy has an amazing facility and great level of coaches. They have managed to be very successful at providing positive coaching in my experience. It is important to talk with directors and coaches to understand team and league structures if you are interested in having your child play a sport long term as they have different levels of competitive play for all sports and want to make sure kids are placed on teams that will be beneficial for their development and build positive experiences through their progression.Unfortunately they have been a bit of a victim of their own success and seem to currently be struggling to build and expand their facility to meet demand. Their website currently boast 490 club and travel teams. That creates an enormous demand on parking, concession, and indoor practice space and staff.I cannot fault them for their success nor their desire and passion for wanting to be involved with every person who wants to progress their athletic journey. Everyone I have met there has been passionate about their sport, their teams, and takes personal pride in helping every person they touch. No wonder for the slight growing pains of their facility. There is plenty of demand for quality coaching and not just having it reserved for the elite. In my experience if a player has a passion for their sport it will be developed here.
My daughter made the Legends Adidas Volleyball team. We played 3 out of the 10-12 tournaments we were supposed to and our season was cut short due to COVID. We payed a ridiculous $3500-4000+ to play on this team and be part of the club. Not to mention all the travel expenses. Most clubs and sports teams are giving refunds back to families that had their season effected by the PANDEMIC. Ive been getting the run around from the head coach and have been told I will get a call back regarding any refund. Still no calls! The coach said theyre planning to offer $1100 credits to families returning next season. So generous... lol I asked her what about families that are not returning?? She said theyre not sure and if they do give any refunds it wont be that much. I was told that the Legacy center doesnt have the money to refund families yet theyre building/adding on the giant facility they have there. Hmmmmm strange! I think that all these families should get a refund of atleast the 60% ($2000+) of the season we got screwed out of. No ones fault but we all paid a lot of money for this club and the season. Its called Integrity or doing the right thing. Ive spoken with other families that have already retained a lawyer so I guess that is the only way to get anywhere with this place. Clearly nice facility but TERRIBLE customer service and WAY OVERPRICED.
Legacy tournaments are a joke. Save your money and stay away. No medical on site, bathrooms do not work, and they never provide enough baseballs for games. On top of all that they always stack pool play to benefit their teams. The fields may be nice but that is the only positive Legacy brings to the table.
We were visiting the baseball complex for a weekend tournament, which the team paid to participate in. They charged us $10 per person to enter the complex to watch the games. Throughout the entire weekend the bathrooms did not get cleaned or restocked nor did they bother sweeping-up around or cleaning the viewing stands. Unsatisfactory in my opinion. On the plus side they did have nice fields that were well-maintained. If youre going to charge us $10 per person to come in at least clean the place up.
I have mixed feelings about this organization so far. The facilities are definitely top-notch. However, the parking is pretty atrocious. The outdoor fields do not handle rain very well but thats pretty standard. They are really nice when the weather cooperates though. The real problems begin with the selection and coaching of teams. The top-level teams get a lot of attention. The second-level-- not so much. Last summer the tryouts were an illusion. It appeared as though the top-level teams were already selected prior to tryouts and EVERYONE ELSE was offered a spot on the B-team. This resulted in the team being more of a rec team than the kind of team you would invest $1,500 in for your child to have a quality experience and evolve as an athlete. The team was atrocious and it got worse as the season went on. They won only one game and were humiliated regularly. Several players quit by mid-season. Many others finished the season but will never return to sports again due to the very negative experience. The overall effect on the players was devolution. The coach was totally ineffective and appeared disengaged. Im not sure if this was a product of his limitations, or just simply a reflection of the talent deficiency due to the everybody gets a spot selection process. Regardless, the feeling that this team was a money grab for Legacy and not a quality sports experience for my child is undeniable. This is unacceptable. I have decided to give Legacy another chance this year and my child has, once again, been offered to join another B team where everyone who attended tryouts was offered a spot. Not very redeeming so far. Once thing I can promise you is if this turns out to be another experience like last year, I will do everything in my power to expose this operation in every sphere I have the ability to influence. However, If this year is a positive experience then I will withdraw these comments and share my positive experience with all of you because this is how we, as consumers, can reward the quality businesses and shut down the bad ones. More to come...
Been here multiple times for baseball tournaments. There first experience was bad but you like to give people and places a second chance. Well, our team is done here. The fields look beautiful until they get even the smallest amount of rain and then they become unplayable. Parking is terrible. Our worst experiences in 5 years have been at this facility.
Over crowded! I wish I could give no stars. We have done multiple activities here from flag football to baseball leagues and catching and pitching clinics. During a pitching and catching clinic with Inge, he only worked with half of the boys. It was advertised that my son would be working with this ex-Tiger. We spent $250 my son never got the chance to work with him and he was Instead placed with only with legacy staff. Who to my delight brought a football and played catch with the boys on the last day. I was paying money to get him to become a better pitcher. During the season of rec baseball, we never got to play on a field. We were constantly bumped for travel leagues and were made to play on the soccer field where we had to sit on the ground behind a net. I gave this place chance after chance until a major accounting glitch happened leaving my account overdrawn. Email after email was ignored until I quit. Only they did they refund my overdraft fees, but not the money I paid toward travel ball. I was told there were no refunds. I asked for a copy of that policy and where I signed it. I was again ignored and given excuses! They kept my money and signed up 2 new players so ended up making more money. We now play in the same league for about $800 less! We arent getting hit by soccer balls, volleyballs and my son gets to actually play outside on a baseball field! This place only cares about about the money...not the people!
Great indoor facility.... Hard to get to the bathrooms with the food line as long as it was. BUT the bathrooms were clean when I got to them. The parking was tough but it looks like they are working on that issue. My son was happy they had a yogurt truck for a somewhat healthier treat between games.
Fitness center is nice, always empty which is good and bad. Gym has stuff laying around a bit much, but its not a big deal. Im sure the classes are amazing though, everyone seems happy when they come out. *update* looks like they changed some policy, Ive noticed its much cleaner around.
Awesome facilities and staffing! The Stay Strong classes have had such a positive impact on my life; a healthier self physically and mentally. I love being able to work out in a group setting where we support and encourage one another; the group accountability and friendships keep me coming back, daily! The professional training provided by Mike, Sam and Lori are exceptional! Each workout challenges and pushes you to your max; never a boring or unsatisfied day. No matter where you are physically, this amazing team will safely get you to where you want to be!
We were encouraged to bring our daughter here after she tried out for the travel fastpitch. They told her that she was good but felt that she should do a season with their travel rec team to build skills and tournament playing. We thought that this would be a great opportunity for her especially to help gain skills in such a great facility. Well how can you gain skills when their are already to many girls on the team to where 3-4 have to sit every inning. And she is actually treated like she has never touched a ball. Im not saying she is the best player on the team but she sure as hell isnt the worse one either. The diorganization from the coaches and the arguing in the field in front of the players is ridiculous. Instead of boosting her confidence she feels like she isnt good enough for any kind of travel team. We also just let 2 12 yr olds join the team with 1 month to go in the season. Tonight they actually got to play both games without sitting out at all. So now we have 4-6 girls sitting on the bench. Im sorry I think i could have spent 2000 on private lessons and she would have come out a better player. I would pull her if I thought I could get a refund but conveniently there is no refund policy. I would not recommend this place to anyone they are just to big. It is beautiful so I guess thats what my money has paid for.
This seems like a nice place from all the times I have visited. Overcrowded but thats expected. The only issue Ive had so far is not being able to find any answers for my questions online. I just need to know if they offer anything for slowpitch softball teams and how to go about joining or starting a league. Ive searched online but only found information about baseball for kids. So maybe a wider variety of information would be a nice touch to their website.
WOW! This facility is amazing! Large, clean and decorated beautifully (that was unexpected in a sports facility). They have a wide range of classes and programs for everyone, and not solely for sports. One class they offer will tutor your student for the ACTs and SATs!Their purpose is to develop well-rounded young people. KUDOS to the staff and owners of Legacy Sports Center!
LEGACY FITNESS: This review is in reference to the Legacy Center fitness classes, most specifically, the morning Legacy Group Fit training. There are many perspectives that can be applied when assessing a training facility / complex. I am not an athlete to say but have trained at everything from muscle and CrossFit gyms to an incredible martial arts program. I have found that the gyms all have personal trainers to guide you through a program and have often appreciated these people but now realize that they were not all great programs.I have had a couple of injuries over the years including one that came when trying to race other gym members, leaving good form behind, when practicing CrossFit (it is all about speed). Anyway, my perception of a good personal trainer changed when I came to Legacy.I have no problem with intensity. In fact, I typically need to be contained. The Legacy Group Training classes are extremely comprehensive and structured to ensure a functional full-body and high-intensity workout. It is set to challenge each person as an individual by catering to our individual needs. I find this far better than a standard gym membership as the workouts are designed in a purposeful total body fitness ~six-week session format. This was a wake-up call for my more then one muscle group in my body.Mike Chezz runs the morning program and is an excellent personal trainer. He has a background in rehabilitation, strength and conditioning coaching and nutrition which helps him individualize any workout routine to meet a persons actual needs. He expects intensity but not at the sacrifice of proper form and function (keeping a close eye on everyones technique). He regularly modifies the daily workout plan for me (and others) to help strengthen certain areas while also focusing to avoid aggravating known injuries (disc, shoulder, hip etc.) In short, one can tell really cares about a persons well-being.Anyone can benefit from this program. There are people in their ranging from highly tuned competitive athletes to others with more of a focus on weight loss or to simply maintaining strength and mobility. If you want an impactful total fitness program, check out the Legacy Group Fit training program.
Best soccer facility around, and construction of the other 2 buildings isnt even done yet (although the building for baseball/softball training is almost done)...cant wait for that, as Im sure it will be awesome once totally completed. The indoor field is top notch and the outdoor fields are well cared for. My sons love playing here and are spoiled by how great all of the fields are- when we go to other locations to play, they often complain about how bad the fields are in comparison. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the grounds are always clean. Many times, especially during tournaments, I am surprised at how clean they keep the restrooms and lobby with such high traffic. My son has trained with James and Sam (soccer LSA training) and both of them are great and push my son to meet his full potential. I feel that he has grown as a player after taking their classes. My son also looks up to them as role models and they are always friendly and take time to talk to him in passing, which does not go unnoticed. Nate is the athletic trainer and has checked out my son for injury on 2 seperate occassions- one required wrapping a sprained wrist and another time for a sprained ankle. Nate was thorough when addressing the injury and taped him much better than I would have and I really appreciated that and felt like he had better support while playing because of it. Droo and Mike are also always friendly, as are the ladies at the front desk.We enjoy that they offer drop-in play, especially over school breaks. We also like when they bring in food trucks for tournaments, as it makes it easier to eat between games and the menu choices are usually healthy and delicious. So glad to have such a wonderful facility so close to home!
ZERO STARS!! 1st off my daughter plays for Legacy fastpitch and if youre thinking of bringing your kid(s) here DONT!!If they would give me a decent portion of the $2000 I gave them for this horrific experience I wouldnt walk but RUN!!! The reason for my review is centered around a management figure named Joey Thorington... yes he is in management and yes he coaches a team at Legacy and believe it or not he runs the fastpitch tournaments there... if you end up playing his team forget about it!! The umps are so slanted in his direction Ive had parents of 2 other organizations say they will never come back to a Legacy Tournament... and yes we got screwed too... him cutting the time short in a bracket game against his team... him changing the brackets in the middle of a tournament so his team wouldnt play 3 games in a row!! And his latest debacle, we were playing in the Championship game when the other team took the lead well past the time expiration... but Joey Thorington was not paying attention so he just called the game??? WTF ?? It was the top of the inning.... rules say revert back and play International Tie Breaker...we never got our at bats??? So he awarded them their so called 1st place trophies and called our team around him and said sorry...I screwed up.... are you Fing Kidding me!! Both teams were still there!! Fix it!! Legacy Center will go bankrupt with this type of management...not only will I be leaving but at least 3/4 of our team will be gone!! Dont get your kids mixed up in this type of management malfeasance!!
If I could give Legacy Center a No STAR rating I would....In September,Legacy Center substantially changed the direction of the Legends Volleyball club. I contacted them several times by email and received no response. Instead they arbitrarily decided to keep our initial deposit and refund only payments made toward the annual club fee. They fully refunded some families but others like me, decided to cite a “no refund policy.” Then they decided to put the deposit “on account” at the Legacy Center which I will never use.Luckily, we were able to charge back the payments and deposit to our credit card company.Buyer beware! They are not engaging in professional practices toward the families.
While passing by the other day my car was hit on the hood with a baseball which also bounced off my windshield. Now I’m left with a smashed out windshield and a dented up hood. I can live with a dented up hood! I cannot safely operate my motor vehicle with a smashed up windshield. Not very safe. What if that would’ve been a motorcycle rider? I think there’s should be more safety standards protecting passing motorists. I tried to call today to speak with somebody about my situation and was hung up on. I hope nobody hangs up on me I will try back again tomorrow. I may have just had a bad signal.Come on Legacy Center I know you guys are better than that?
There is no facility in Michigan that compares to Legacy Center. Provides multiple program options for not only kids, but adults. If you are an athlete, or looking to be involved in athletics, this is your one stop shop. From the beginner to advance athlete, Legacy provides everything you need to advance, educate and maintain your athletic career.
This happened to me sometime ago and it did deeply affect me. I was harassed by a male client at there workout facility. At the time I approached three different trainers about it. One of them is still there today. My issues were dismissed by the trainers. After much frustration, I approached management about the male client. They told me they would look into it but did not do anything about it. One manager,Droo, knew of the situation but put me off. Good Old Boy Network with them!Would not recommend working out here or giving them any of your business.Just because Legacy was never brought to Justice. Due to the fact of my word against theirs. Does not make it right!
Playing at there usssa tournament. Worse fields my daughter has played on in her 5 years of travel ball. I would recommend never signing up and paying top dollar to play on field full of rocks and weeds embarrassment to softball but typical of legacy according to most teams here
The Legacy Center has been a great place to work out! I enjoy taking the classes that are offered and all of the staff are super friendly. I enjoy reading the healthy articles that are put on the Facebook page. I cant wait to see what the new phases have to offer! I highly recommend Legacy Center!
Never enough parking. It’s great to bring all of these sports to our area but they book way too many things on the same day. The parking is ridiculous. So frustrating just to watch your kid play the game you pay so much for and then spend 20 mins driving in circles to park. Make another parking lot!!!!
I recently tore my hamstring and was able to work with Nate and the training staff at Legacy. This was the most progressive therapy program I have experienced! I tore the same hamstring in college, and it took four months before I could even run again. That was many years ago now so recovery isnt as easy, but thanks to Nate and the Return to Sport Program I was back to training within a month. Nates schedule was always made to fit my availability, and even after the therapy sessions ended Nate and the Legacy staff continue to check in with me when I am training. Amazing experience! Thanks Legacy Center!!!
My daughter worked with Nate Santoni as a part of the Legacy Return to Sport training after an ACL tear. We are so pleased with her progress and all that Nate did for her. He was very thorough, patient and knowledgeable about my daughters situation and put her on a very appropriate plan to get her ready to come back to the sport she loves - soccer. Nate went above and beyond our expectations, even going so far to check in with my daughter at times outside of her sessions.Nate was able to push my daughter in ways that kept her very motivated during a very tough time but also kept the sessions fun while working her hard to reach her goals. Return to sport is not just physical, but also mental and emotional - and Nate catered to all of these elements of her recovery.Thank you, Nate!!
It was my first time at legacy for a private party. The lady working the party had her kids there. They were coughing and sneezing, clearly they were sick and should have been at home in bed. Not to mention how rude the lady was, she was very short when asked something. Then would go on her phone.
My son and I just went there to check out the place. Awesome, amazing, comfortable, professional staff, more then I ever expected. We had met the owner, truly genuine, helped my son with training, above and beyond helpful. Highly recommended. Thank you for the great experience.

2022-02-26My daughter is at an all-day volleyball tournament. There are no refs for the event. In addition to line judging, now the girls have to ref. It is basically an expensive open gym, not a tournament. If you cannot staff an event, it should be cancelled and fees returned.

2022-06-11Listening to a walk up song for 10U about smoking blunts isnt what I would consider to be good for youth baseball. Your organization should be ashamed of that. Good team, but terrible parenting and coaches for allowing this trash.

2022-02-28The tournament director was beyond unprofessional. We will not be back and will make sure that we spread the word about the behavior happening during matches to non local teams. The favoritism was debilitating to the teams competing here. The facility itself noted no coolers because concessions available. It was a snack bar at best with drinks and chips and a few muffins that ran out in a few minutes. With an almost 10 hour tournament with no coolers or food tables allowed, food of sustenance should be made available for purchase. The bathrooms were dirty and lack of viewable seating.

2022-04-30Just had a carload of young adults pull out of Legacy onto Rickett and had to hit the brakes. The driver of the vehicle had the nerve to look at me and laugh. Is any wonder we hate what that place has done to the neighborhood.

2019-04-20Great soccer park with an addition indoor field. First class in every way. One thing lacking is not having an encompassing roadway to all the fields without having to walk across. It would help those parents, grandparents and kids who are unable to go the distance in a wheelchair or Walker to watch their kids, grandkids or friends. That being said the fields are pristine and well groomed. No build.up of puddles even during heavy rrain. Overall a good job done by Brighton on these fields.

2021-12-13I think Legacy is a great organization. I manage a team that is not an upper tier team. Due to COVID cancelling a tournament in 2020, we had a credit for 2021. Since the team aged from 14U to 15U, the number of tournaments for 2021 were limited to college prep ones. I feared that we would be playing against upper tier teams that would be above the level of my team. Ryan at Legacy listened to my concerns and created a wonderful tournament. We did play some upper tier teams but also played many that were at our level. The tournament was well run, and we enjoyed it immensely. Thank you to the staff at Legacy for their hard work and consideration of our concerns. Great job!

2021-07-17This place is a total racket. Way overpriced for the quality of product. The place has really nice fields and indoor facilities, but the people are mostly terrible. When you raise an issue, you’re ignored. If you have ANY other option to get your kids in sports somewhere else, go there. Unfortunately, it seems like they just throw anyone out there to coach. My kid literally does not want to play the sport anymore after a season with legacy. The coach was just grumpy all the time and many of the 13-14 yo felt that they new more about the game that that individual. Seems they just want to make as much money as they can so they hire any warm bodies to coach.

2021-06-01Fantastic facility.I was there over Memorial Day weekend for my daughters volleyball tournament, and also visited over the winter for my sons indoor baseball tournament in the dome. The dome was a little tight when youre trying to squeeze 3 baseball fields in there at one time, but the same could be said for squeezing 20 volleyball courts into the other facility. It is what it is.Take advantage of the catwalk/balcony to get a little more space and a better view if your kids are on one of those courts. Its a little tough to find the stairs/access, but well worth it. Nice concessions, parking, bathrooms, etc. Easy access off of 23.

2021-06-13Beautiful complex. Great buildings. Well kept. We were there for an 8u tourney and we had the most unprofessional ump. He conducted himself so poorly to all teams and cussed at an opposing teams catcher when a passed ball hit him. Honestly In about 25 years of watching, playing baseball, this gentleman was very negative for the kids. He extended the mid innings several minutes by texting for long periods of time. I wish I could post videos because he did it every inning. Really took away from the players experience. Worst part was the legacy director was on site and disregarded the situation by saying he has no one else to replace him. (Could have at least coached him on being more professional).Great complex and probably a one off experience but the lack of control on the director and the horrible professionalism of the ump was very disconcerting to all teams.

2022-01-291 referee looking at her phone during the game while the other pulled out some cash out his pocket and started counting it! I don’t know which rock the Legacy Center turned over to find these bums but they are a complete joke.
