Have been using Legacy Title Agency for a short period of time now and have found it to be a pleasure working with them, Both Aaron Kopczyk and Madison Osborn have been most helpful and knowledgeable in the field. They were both quick to respond to phone calls or e-mails so sales could be finalized and closed within the allotted time frame. It is also convenient that they have closers that will travel to whatever office is most convenient for both buyer and seller. I look forward to working with them in the future.
Legacy makes doing business a breeze. Closings are completed quickly, efficiently, professionally, and accurately. The team at Legacy is very knowledgable and extremely responsive. In addition to working through standard transactions, Legacy has gone the extra mile when issues pop up that would derail many closings ... but not here ... Legacy has been able to find solutions that keep deals together so both the buyers and sellers walk away happy.
Avoid by any chance! While they might be able to get the job done, dont rely on customer service or following instruction stated in contracts. I asked to wire the money, they mailed it (to this day the check never showed up) and I had to drive all the way to Clarkston to get my money as I did NOT trust them with a wire anymore. Online platform didnt work to get the contracts digitally so I got a scan delivered to my email (look out for spam detection).
I have worked with Legacy Title on well over 200 transactions in the last three years on behalf of my buyers and sellers. They are professional, knowledgeable and courteous with my team and my clients. Communication is timely throughout the process and you can count on their closing representatives to be prepared and efficient on closing day. I cannot say that about every title company I have encountered, but I can assure you it has been my experience working with Legacy.
Disclaimer: Im not sure if this is the correct branch, but my voice will be heard.I worked with Legacy Title Agency, because my real estate agent thrusted it on me without even asking. At the time, I was OK with being a first time home buyer (at the time) and all. Note to future home buyers (owners), please do your own research, ask friends and family who they worked with, and hopefully they had a pleasant experience/ service and can recommend someone to you.Any way, I am dissatisfied with the service received from Legacy Title Agency. I feel like they took my good good money and their attitude/ service is as if Im getting a free service or a discounted rate. First of all, they pawned me off to someone from RealTeam located in Shelby (if this is common, I wouldnt know, because first time). The lady (still dont know her name to this day), gave me the property transfer affidavit to file by my lonesome. In hindsight (talking to friends after the fact), they should do this, because I paid them. Then, she was suppose to hand me a copy of the signed paperwork when I collected my keys. Nothing. To this day, this havent received my paperwork, even after calling my representative, Andrew several times. He keeps saying hell contact the title company. No results. As for my Property Transfer Affidavit, I used my good good time to drive to City Hall, only to find they dte closed to the public and that I should drop the docs off in the drop box. But guess what? I didnt take envelopes with me. This was the last straw for me. I just couldnt contain my anger, so I called Andrew and vented. Like, why am I going through hoops when I paid you!!!???? This is what is upsetting to me. Still is. Writing this review doesnt exclude the fact that I have to drive back to City Hall to drop the paperwork off, but people need to be careful about who they work with. If Im paying you for a service/ product I except results, quality results and experience. Anything less will result in reviews like this. Who has ears to listen, eyes to read, please do so. This is beyond foolishness. Zero stars. Deal with people better. Please send over my paperwork. I also wish to get a refund but thats wishful thinking.
As a Transaction Coordinator, I use Legacy Title for just about all of my transactions. They are extremely professional, and have come through for me when I needed it the most - even stopping what they were doing on a Sunday afternoon to make sure we closed on Monday morning. I highly recommend them!
Legacy is my go to title agency, Ive been doing business with these guys for a couple years now. Heres a couple reasons I enjoy doing business with them, #1 Specific, familiar agents that handle my files from start to finish. They are easy to communicate with and get deals closed. #2 When the occasional issue arises (missing payoff auths on my end for example) they jump into action and get the job done.
As a first time home buyer I am so grateful to Legacy Title for guiding me through my home purchase. They were extremely responsive and were able to answer all my questions. I was very prepared when I got to the closing. I would highly recommend Legacy Title to anyone considering a home sale or purchase! Job well done !
Friendly service, not impressed with the competency. I bought a house that was just flipped and had two issues with the closing.1. The city started knocking on my door for past due building permits a month after I closed and I was stuck dealing with three months of back and forth with contractors and city inspectors to close out the permits the sellers left open. Someone dropped the ball on the open permit search. Legacy told me I was on my own to deal with it with the sellers.2. The property was supposed to be titled to a trust, not to me personally, but they came to closing with the paperwork prepared for me. They told me to just close and do a simple quitclaim deed after the sale. Legacy does not do quit claim deeds. There’s also a several thousand dollar transfer tax involved unless I now get an attorney to work out the paperwork and exemptions.
If I could give zero stars, I would! I have never worked with such an incompetent group of individuals in finance before. They sent me the wrong check then BLAMED me for sending me the wrong check. They called me AT CLOSING and asked me to pay another $2100. And I still have no idea where that money was applied because its not in my escrow. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Who makes 3 mistakes on one transaction with someones money???? Completely incompetent and Wendy is the most unprofessional of all.
I thought long and hard about writing this review. However, I do think that my experience really should serve some good. My hope is that the management at Legacy title will read it and really question the ethics of the personal that they hire and their training practices. First, Id like to let readers know that I have been buying and selling properties for the last 30 years in MI and CA. So, this closing was not my first experience. Erica Schons was my title agent. I also worked with her supervisor Diane. The lack of customer service and communication skills that I experienced were on a new level of sub par. I sincerely experienced a closing that for many reasons was not totally legit. Dates were forged and one occasion I was instructed to put the wrong date on documents to cover up the mess that they had created. They continually kept giving deadlines that did not mean anything the next day. The whole process was frustrating because they simply to not care to be ethical or customer service focused. Even the receptionist had a bad attitude when I called back after put me on hold for over 30 mins when I asked to speak to the owners. Please do not use Legacy Title!
Poor attention to detail. Didn’t bother reading the paperwork sent by the buyers title company so they had no idea our money couldn’t be wired through a split closing. Didn’t call us to tell us they screwed up...we called several times when, after 24 hours, the money never showed up in our account. Has to call several times and was sent to other agents and even other companies to try and get a confirmation number for our mortage payoff. Also had to call several times over a period of days to get a confirmation number for the check that was supposed to be overnighted after they messed up the wired transfer. Really poor customer service. Did not receive check until 4 days after it was supposed to be sent overnight. Would not recommend.ETA: They never took care of the homeowners insurance paperwork so we are just now getting the refund check.8/1/18 We finally got our homeowners insurance sorted out and got a refund check...one more job the this title company lied about taking care of. Seriously...avoid these people.
I am surprised at how unprofessional this organization is. My lender and closing coordinator have both been unable to obtain final closing costs from Legacy Title Agency and the closing is one day away. It is inexcusable how poorly this company has handled my closing. I would certainly not recommend Legacy Title Agency.
First of all a quick disclosure they are based in Clarkston and trying to do a transaction here in Lansing. That being said, they produced a HUD with an incorrect tax proration and when confronted about it they insisted I was wrong and the HUD was correct. (I have been buying and selling homes in theLansing area for over 2 decades so I know what I’m doing)I then had to go to a local title company to obtain proof that the proration was wrong and the title company said they would talk to the selllers totry and fix the issue. The day of closing I received a new HUD which had the sellers paying almost $700 above what they were supposed to credit me for. I had to do the tax proration myself at closing and cut the seller a check. On top of all this the closer was about an hour late to the closing and was just a notary, not even a closer so she had very limited knowledge on what had to be signed and where. Definitely would not recommend using this title company especially if the transaction isn’t local.
No one from this title company showed up at my closing! We were trying to find the documents for closing which they were suppose to bring to closing. They also did not provide me the two affidavit that I need to turn in to the city. No follow up afterwards regarding these issues. It just seems to be normal practice for this business.
