Leos Coney Island in other cities:
I understand people may be desperate for people to run their business but man this place wasnt even busy , waitress took forever to get our order. Giggling and chatting was more important. I never seen the waitress wash their hands after grabbing other dirty dishes off other tables. Also, other people got their food who walked in after us! Sorry I worked in restaurant style job for 12 years this is not okay service. We are still in a pandemic, if your employees cant follow proper hand washing and sanitizing areas then why do you think your business should still run. Again I understand your short staff for help but like I said it wasnt busy at all and I see more busy places follow better protocols on health and safety of being a place to serve food. I will not come here again for a while. Hopefully they can get help and change their safety habits of serving food!!!!Just sharing to warn others!
The food was so delicious. I got a soup a burger and frys. It was all nice and hot. They brought my food pretty fast.it was a pretty good price for just on person. My waitress was so nice and did a good job checking to see how i was doing. Left her a good tip. She deserves it
Looking forward to Chicago dog, no where even close to a Chicago dog it should be removed from the menu if that is how they make it. My husband, who we call Mikey because hell typically eat anything, said the chili sauce on dogs wasnt good and didnt even eat much of the fries, said tasted odd. Still charged us full price, pretty sad. The waitress was OK, didnt seem to care that we were disappointed. Right now I let a lot slide with places but the taste of food/flavor isnt one of them.
I have to agree with the previous review. we used to come here often, pre-covid, mainly for the salad bar (which has still not been opened back up as of august 21) but the past couple experiences here have been unacceptable. we have come in during slower hours of the afternoon, when they are not busy, with plenty of empty tables and at least 3-4 waitresses on staff, so this is not a staffing issue. the waitresses we have had are chatting and talking to co-workers behind the counter, taking strolls, etc. rather than serving the customers, taking orders, bringing refills, checking to make sure everything is good, etc. on the visit before last, waitress was too busy chatting to even come back to the table to check on us or bring us refills until we were finished with our meal, when she was within 15 feet of us talking to co-workers the entire meal.on this last visit, the waitress literally forgot about us and left us sitting there for upwards of 15 minutes without taking our order. the host had to remind her we were there, then she walked up without even an apology. we left without ordering.as the previous reviewer had stated, we are aware and understanding of staffing issues since the pandemic, but this is not the case here. the waitresses are not swamped, nor busy, just neglectful of the customer.
I did the drive-through and what I ordered was absolutely wonderful but the price that I was told on the phone because I had exact change plus their tip at the window when I picked it up changed by 2 1/2 dollars so I’m not sure what’s going on there but if they can’t stick to the price they tell me on the phone I will not be back and I haven’t but I do love their food you just need to stick to the price it’s even on the menu you can’t make up your own
This is one of the best Leos I have ever been to. I have had the breakfast buffet and it is so good hands down best one of ever been too. Its really clean with a great hard working regular staff. The seating is quite spacious and large. The atmosphere is great especially with the great green house type windows that run in front and alongside of the building. The salad bar is stocked, clean, and fresh with everything you might need.
This Leos use to be okay but every time my son or I have ordered from them there has always been something wrong with our order and the owner/manager doesnt even care. I called a order in and was told it would be 20 mins when my son arrived to pick up the order it wasnt there...niw every time I order from here no matter what the order I tip above what is customary so Im not sure whats the issue Im always nice when I come in and have never had a problem with the staff. Its to bad because I like Leos so Ill just go a little further to Zorbas from now where I know the staff will be kind and my order will be right.
One of my favorite restaurants. Excellent variety of different menu items, from Greek, American and everything in between. Also a great salad and breakfast bar. The place is clean, staff is friendly, and its big enough that you never have to wait to be seated. Highly recommended !!!
The food was great and all, I came here for breakfast after my teams hockey Practice and my Grandma got the new COVID vaccine so we all thought why not come here bro the local restaurant of Leo’s we came in and it looked like a 5 star but the reason behind the 3 stars is because we got are food and statutes to eat Manet 10 minutes past and then this couple comes in and at the front your supposed to write your name and phone number and wait to be seated when we were half way done with are food a couple walked in and sat down right a crossed from us like there is no virus in this world
The service was great. My ice tea tasted like dirty water. The waitress was so nice, she apologized and brought me something else to drink. I had a Gyro and a Greek Salad. The salad was good but the Gyro was bland. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very pleasant.Maybe Ill try another one someday.
Normally I love Leos, but today is not one of those days. To start I was sat at a dirty table and the waitress took forever to come clean it. She left it very wet and set our napkins in it. When I got my food, the French toast was cold and the eggs were not cooked the way I asked. Then, to top it all off , the waitress dropped a hot fudge sundae in my lap. Needless to say, it was not a good experience.
Literally the WORST Coney Island I have EVER been to. I took my grandparents here for dinner June 28th, the waitresses didnt bring us anything we asked for, we were given food with no utensils, we were given no napkins, and they gave my blind grandmother rotten mushy tomatoes on her swiss burger and she almost threw up. The worst part of it is that they werent busy AT all, there were only 3 other tables besides us, and it was terrible. I understand they dont want to work because of this pandemic, but as a waitress myself I wouldve gotten chewed out for the service they gave us.. GO to River Village instead. This coney island is TERRIBLE.
Absolutely terrible. My wife and I went to eat here after the other location we were going to was closed. This was our first time going to this particular one. My wife did not get part of the order that she paid for and also there was a large piece of sharp plastic in her sauce that she was dipping from. My French toast was not cooked and was very gooey in the middle. We go out to restaurants a lot and have never given a restaurant a bad review, but I guess theres a first time for everything. The waitress herself was nice and apologized over and over again but the head cook/manager refused to come out and apologize. I will never eat here again.
This Leos Coney Island store moved into a Big Boy restaurant that was shuttered. They kept the iconic buffet bar that the Big Boy chain is known for, yet made it their own. The soup and salad fixings now reflect the Mediterranean menus more familiar to Leos customers. Overall, the subtle changes work, although a few more choices for fresh green salads would be appreciated. I ordered just the salad bar. My husband had a plain hamburger included with his salad bar. It was offered to me as well, but I declined. The hamburger was a bit puzzling. One dried patty on a bun and they brought the condiments over instead of putting them on the plate. It just didnt fit with the salad bar option.Aside from that, the place seemed relatively clean. I did not use the restrooms, but the ingredients on the salad bar were fresh and appealing, the booths and tables were kept clean. Staff was attentive and friendly. While we dont have occasion to be in the Riverview/Trenton area often, this is one restaurant I would return to.
The food was good, however the restaurant needs some updating. The flooring is worn out with broken tiles, the silverwear is worn out, and the salad bar plates seem the the original 1990s Big Boy plates. We got a high chair for my 2 year old that looked like it had been dragged behind a truck for 5 miles.
Very disappointed. Took the family there yesterday and the waitress brought out our food in bits and pieces, one dinner got the remainder after he was finished. My daughter in law ordered grilled chicken and asked 3 times and was told yep, and when her dinner came, it was fried chicken, my granddaughter wanted a side salad and the waitress charged us 10.99 for a side salad because she said it was cheaper to get the kids salad bar! And all of this for 67.00
Stopped in for dinner tonight thinking it would be pretty comparable to the Flat Rock location. Was completely disappointed. Dont get me wrong my server was great but everything else was sub par. Their bowl of chili is nothing but coney chili with a couple beans in it sent that back. Asked for desert they brought me the wrong one and it had hair in it 🤮 . Went to the counter to tell them there was hair in my cheesecake and the server Racheal was sitting on the counter and was very rude to me. Asked to speak to the manager, who let me sit waiting for 10 minutes. Decided to call the owner tomorrow. And the bathroom was nasty. Will not be back to this location .
Ordered dinner for my 3 kids and myself after a long exhausting day. The kids food all turned out great and the waitress was the sweetest ever! Packing extra ranches and blue cheese for the kids and the Cobb salad I had ordered for myself. Unfortunately, the chicken in my salad was chewy and horrible. There was very little blue cheese crumbles and the salad tasted about a week old. The pita included with my salad wasn’t packed but that’s ok. As a previous waitress for a long time, I would come back for that service but the cooking needs some work.
Absolutely love it!!.. The owner is very friendly and seems to be always there... All the employees are very nice... The food is always awesome!!...love to go to the breakfast buffet on Sundays!... Hash brown are the best around.. Not dry very moist...one of our all time favorites!!!!keep up the great work!!
Food ok most of the time, service is wonderful, but of all the places I grab a bite at this one is the most likely to be out of ingredients or forget to put them in. Plates often served cold. Carry out is seemingly always missing items. It seems harder to get good help these days but serving below average food at an eatery is a recipe for disaster
This is not a typical Leos restaurant. The restaurant is run down. There were ceiling tiles and wires hanging down when you 1st walked into the restaurant. The food was subpar compared to other Leo Coney islands. This is the 2nd time we have been here and will be our last. The food wasnt good the first time but we thought we would give them another chance. Specifically the chili was watery and not very good tasting, the gyro meat was dry and overcooked (possibly cooked ahead of time and reheated) and the spinach pie was dry and salty, again overcooked. You might want to send someone over to Leos in Allen Park off of Outer Dr. and let them show you how to prepare the food the correct way. They are the gold standard. Also our waitress did not come back to our table 1 time to check on us. This was not the norm because I saw other waitresses go back other tables several times.
My friend and I tried to eat here. We ordered breakfast and waited 30 min for our order. The people behind us came in several min after us and finished their food before our waitress came with our food as we were leaving. My friend asked the girl if she was forgetful today and she appologized and said yes, I asked if our food had been sitting long and she said no. We felt our food and no suprise, it was old and cold. So we left. Wont be going back. We saw her standing around talking to another girl as we were waiting the entire time.
I will not be going back to this particular Leo’s in Riverview. The lemon rice soup was moosh and had no flavor. Yesterday’s leftovers? The tzatziki sauce was not creamy it looked dried out on my gyro. I also ordered extra but did not receive it. Since this was a carry out order, I just had to do with what I got. At least the lamb wasn’t dried out. Guess I’ll drive the extra miles and continue to go to the one in Woodhaven.
Service is always great. However, the food is not. Ill stick with the Woodhaven Leos even though its much further for me. The cooks at the Riverview location cannot cook. Always dry, plain tasting chicken and half the amount that youd receive at the Woodhaven location.
Vegetables in my salad are mushy and the carry out box was only about half full. I only got the seeded parts of the pepperocinis. Three staff members continued talking and ignored me for 3 minutes before one finally asked how they could help. Instead of helping, however, they then took the customer behind me even though I saw my food on the counter. It then took another 2 minutes for one of the other two standing and chatting to greet me. My last experience here was similar. Definitely should be your last resort coney.
Very greasy atmosphere, when you leave, you feel like you have to wash your hair all over again cuz of the grease in the air. The place smells like grease when you walk in. Floors, tables, chairs, everything you touch has a coating of grease on it. At least 50% of the food is too greasy. Waitresses use greasy dirty towels to clean the tables. Once the waitress gets the tip, you never see her again. The owner is a nice guy and tries to accomodate the customers but he really needs to scour all that grease out of the place. The place just needs a good cleaning of the floors, tables and even bathrooms because of all the grease. Im surprised someone hasnt slipped on the floor and ended up sueing the restaurant. And when you want a refill on your drink: If the health dept caught the waitresses taking your glass off the table back to the fountain where it can contaminate everyone elses glass, the restaurant would get a violation cause when you get a refill its state law to put the refill in a new glass. No complaints about the NON-greasy food--just stay away from the greasy foods like their french toast that is deep fried on the breakfast buffet, you will feel sick after eating it. I didnt know what it was, so I tried it and one word came to mind: yuk!
My son had metal shavings in his chili dog... showed it to the waitress.. No one came to tell us sorry or anything.. charged us full price... went to pay... i asked the guy if they checked the chili sauce.. he said no.. I will tell anybody i know not to go there... even the soup on the salad bar was not fresh... tasted like it was days old...
For me it was the first time ordering a carry out order from them and the last I ordered three chili cheese fries two cheese burgers and two hotdogs one order of the fries was in a container by itself and they put the other two in with the cheese burgers so the burgers were covered with chili and cheese very messy and soggy and very small portions
I have to Leos many times, but this time sadly the food was terrible, I had brought my granddaughter and grandson with my wife and I and the food was cold and both of their hot dogs and hamburgers were hard as a rock, the service was good but not the food, I am hoping it was just a off night.

2022-06-18Food was delicious. Waitresses was awesome. Actually went a couple hours later to place a carry out order for another person. The carry out order tasted great also. However, definitely check your order. The carry out came missing the top of the hamburger bun.

2022-04-22Horrible customer service. They were slow with 3 waitresses. They got our drinks order and asked if we were ready. We asked for 1 more minute and they never came back. We sat there for 20 mins and decided they didnt need our money. Wont being going back.

2022-01-12The oil for the fried food hasnt been changed and is well over due. The ranch had lumps on it, thought maybe it was powder lumps but wasnt and the chicken strips were beyond dry and tough. Im hoping this is a one time miss-hap as Ive had many delicious meals there before 🙏

2022-02-21Not to be an entitled person but the Gyro was disgusting. Wife had a chicken wrap, the pita crumbled apart as it did on Gyro. The waiter was super nice and did a great job but the food was less than average.

2022-03-01Watery Chilli and old hot dogs served. HORRIBLE SLOOOOOW SERVICE while there was staff and the restaurant had about four tables/booths total we waited 20 mins for 3 hotdogs and Chilli fries. BTW the waitress brought fries not the Chilli cheese we ordered. When told she the brought a little side of Chilli ( I had a lil chuckle) never seen that in my life!?
