Comment: Life Storage-Torrance was presented professionally. I was treated with respect, and I would rent from this life storage again. The reason for the 4 stars is because the unit I had was close to the neighboring units. One of the other units complained about not enough space. I parked in my designated spot and one of the neighboring tenants continually complained about the space being too small. I received multiple calls asking that I do something different about how I parked. Great service overall.

Daniel went above and beyond by waiting after closing time since I was driving all the way from North Hollywood to Torrance so I could get access on the same day of signing the lease. 10/10 customer service! Accessing the gate, building, and my storage unit is so easy as well. A much better experience than my previous storage unit.

Comment: Andrew has been great and very accommodating at answering all my questions and taking care of any of the issues I had.Place has been going through some changes and upgrades since being there. Theyve added a lot to of new carts and upgraded their security system. The facility can be a bit cleaner, but its still ok in my books.The bad thing I will mention is the price hikes. The company will raise prices on you after 3 months of signing. Theyre asking almost double the price of what Im paying per month. So take that into consideration before hauling your stuff over.

Comment: My stuff was STOLEN from thieves who broke the disc (lock purchased from Life Storage) and took all what they wanted. NO call from the staff!! I walked up to my unit dismayed to find my unit completely OPEN with items stolen and stuff outside the unit! DO NOT STORE ANYTHING HERE!! It will be stolen! This place lacks proper security for the area its located in.The number that I was asked to call in the response is just a general number, no specific person. They DONT CARE!! As I stated before this place LACKS proper security! I would NEVER store my RV, trailer and items here! It isnt safe! See image of how they broke off the lock.

A severe rat issue and constant break-ins! Too much for me.But from the time I rented this unit online and as soon as I walked in the office to check in... Richard provided that old school customer service that unfortunately is mostly non-existent. He is so pleasant and professional, and has a smile that would light up any room! Comment: What caught my eye about this location was the accessibility hours 5am to 11pm. However this location was unkempt and the customer service could use a lot of improvement. Once it got bought by extra storage they fixed the property clean the stairwell and the outside grounds. They reduced the gate hours to 6am to 10pm. The elevator is always broken.Even tho this is an improvement to the property their customer service has not improve.Please do not park here overnight or your windows will be broken.

Then when I asked about the renters insurance she said, I dont know anything about the policy since its a different company. So I asked, Can you please give me a contact number so I can ask them? Comment: I have been a customer of Life Storage in Torrance since 2011. My monthly rate went from $90 to $210, at which point I decided to move to a smaller unit elsewhere. I love the location but I needed to downsize and they didn’t have any units available that met my needs. My interaction with the staff was minimal but I did notice when I needed to speak to someone by phone, it was difficult to reach anyone or get a return call back. I checked out of my unit today and was helped by Erica. At first, she sounded curt and unfriendly, but after she realized that I am a long-term customer and wasn’t intimidated by her, she warmed up and was quite nice. I reported to her an unpleasant interaction with a cleaning person named DONOVAN. He was very rude and had a superior, mightier-than-thou attitude. I was preparing my storage so I can vacate it the following day. He was unhappy that we had stuff on the aisle and he had to go to the next aisle. He told us, with an authoritative tone of voice, that we needed to keep the aisle clear so other renters can pass by. There was no one around at that time! We cleared a path and he passed by a couple of times to make sure we were in compliance. That is no way to treat a customer!

If its something she cant get done for us immediately, or need the head office to take action, shell continue to stay on top of them for us until the job gets done. Comment: Bad customer service I called the corporate office over a month ago about my experience and still havent received a call back. I also witnessed a homeless person on a bike entering the facility when the gate opened after me pulling in. When I 1st moved my things inside they didnt tell me that the doors looked at 11pm. So my stuff was stuck on the elevator all night I called one of the numbers numerous times and when they finally answered someone told me they see if someone could help and took my contact information down and never called.

This is a really large facility and she knows it like the back of her hand. I was impressed that she was addressing customers by their names as they walked in - she takes great care in establishing relationships with the customers.The facility itself is clean, well maintained and secure. If you are looking for a super cheap unit, this place probably isn’t for you. You get what you pay for. I’m willing to pay a slight premium for a superior facility with superior customer service!

Comment: Yes, they are super nice when you are renting, but wholly unresponsive, unsupportive and dismissive when something is stolen from their lot. Zero interest in locating and supplying video to law enforcement. Hard to get them to admit they even have video. Another reviewer pointed to an inside job. Based on the time of the theft, and a complete unwillingness to provide investigators with video until pushed, I suspect the same. Dont store your RV here if you want to feel safe about it.

While waiting to get it repaired, it got broken into and more damage was done to the locks and ignition. What is the point of the expensive secured area with surveillance of you refuse to use the footage when it is needed? Erika is just amazing! She really looks out for you and goes well beyond her job description. Shes kind, honest and has great customer service skills. She doesnt pressure you into a unit or space, unlike some facilities. While Ive considered downsizing and moving to a new facility for cost, I dont think I will do to Erika and the customer service Ive received.The storage is also nice! Its clean, secure and has late night access hours. The storage prices are competitive with other facilities but you get extra care with the customer service here. Im staying! Thanks Erika

She was so helpful over the phone and let me know what time she would be in the office so I could see the unit I was interested in. She was very knowledgeable, professional and kind. I love my my Unit and so happy I choose Lifestorage.

Comment: Store my RV their for over 4 years, first had my wheel covers stolen, and was told the camera for that side was out so couldnt see who stole them that was about two years ago, just went to check my RV and found out someone broke in and stole some valuables, and again their cameras were not working plus this place is a gated storage, a lot that helps. So this place is not safe to store your RV! Got a feeling it was a inside job, cause someone knows how to get inside RVs without out doing damage to doors or Windows and their cameras are never working when something happens. I feel that very suspicious???? And they always say they will call you back and never do!!!!! Very angry customer 😠

Comment: Website pricing not completely accurate (retail location will round-up to the nearest dollar) but still good promo price for the space nonetheless. But hey, the company will make a killing upping how many customers???!!! Damn! Everyone should make it standard biz practice to skim all their customers!? Be aware of the OUTRAGEOUS mandatory insurance (however its worded legally) premium at $20/month or bring proof of goods coverage from an alternate carrier. Do your math - total monthly due may not be so wonderful. Bring a lock. Ample parking, gated site, clean space, clean elevator. Sometimes the hand trunks are tied and locked, sometimes not, but its always available. Dont expect much - corporate office reps suck; staff at site do what they can and may. And this review is a one-time $10 credit towards my account.

Comment: I paid for a space online, drove over, and started moving stuff in within 10 minutes. They keep the spaces clean and temperature-controlled and they have carts you can borrow and other moving equipment you can purchase.So far, Im very pleased with all they offer and the rate was competitive with other facilities in the area.

Comment: The staff at LifeStorage of Torrance were really helpful with making sure I understood the policies and terms of having a storage unit. The units are well kept and easily accessible. The one thing a I love about his storage place is that you are able to access your unit from 5am-11pm everyday. It makes it easier for me to feel like I dont have to pick and choose what I put in my storage. I have more time to go back and forth as I please. The prices are really great too which just adds to the fact the LifeStorage of Torrance was a good choice for my first storage unit.

Comment: To simply describe this place and my experience here so far with only one word...I would have say: awesome! This place is probably one of the cleanest storage facilities you will ever store your stuff in. Not to mention the great amenities they have right on the spot. Need to mail something off at the post office? Well you wont have to walk far, because they have a branch pretty much in the same office. Need a drop off site for UPS pickup? Boom, they got that. Along with the convenient amenities, youll also receive fantastic customer service. Jennifer, who happened to be the one helping me with my rental unit, was both very friendly and very helpful with getting me acclimated with the facility and finding the most practical way to my storage unit. Overall, this is a great storage place for either business and/or personal needs. Would definitely recommend this place.

Comment: I thought I was making a good choice but no one told me you couldnt pay your bill online. To make matters worse, someone entered my email address incorrectly and now (since my calls just go to voice mail) I can not check my balance.. . nor pay it unless I drive to the facility or put a check in snail mail. I dont even use checks anymore!!!! what a hassle this is turning out to be/

Comment: +LifeStorage of TorranceI have to say that since I was referred to Life Storage I have nothing but complements. Jennifer the manager in Torrance has provided superior customer service. My friend and I have had a unit for nearly 9 months and I cant imagine trusting any other company to our belongings. Even one time when they changed the codes to get into the building, I was able to reach Jennifer after 10:00 pm to get an override code to get back into my unit.
