Lifestyles Hot Tubs in other cities:
I rarely write reviews of companies, but feel obligated with the poor experience we had that I needed to. Will start with the positives: friendly repair man... positives end there.Long story short: Avoid this company to save yourself time, money, and frustration.Long story: Called with an intermittently functioning jet pump. Was told that a serviceman would need to come assess for themselves. Scheduled to arrive at 8AM... called at 10AM to say would be there by noon. Arrived at 4PM (so be sure to allocate a whole day to any maintenance). Repairman was there a total of 7 minutes as I already had the side panels opened up and ready to go. No attempts to fix/ repair anything or look into it more of why the jet pump was intermittently working. Handed a $168 bill for these services: flat rate of $50 to show up at house and $100/hr maintenance rate... to tell me what I was already aware (my pump isnt working appropriately). Told by repairman that the parts department is really unreliable so be sure to call back several times to make sure they actually order the part. Also I would need to disassemble all the decking around the hot tube to get adequate access to service (even though front panel completely unobstructed). Sure enough, called 2 days later... then 1 week later and they still hadnt submitted an order for the pump replacement. Finally 12 days later was told we would need to pay in advance before they would order the pump and it would be $550 for the part and then again $100/hr for installment.... this is when we decided to start looking elsewhere. Ultimately decided not to continue services with them, part cost $250 and good news... no decking needed to be removed to be installed. Unbelievable that they would price gouge to that extent. Do yourself a favor, find another hot tub repair shop near you.
STAY AWAY!!!!! My hot tub wouldnt get past 90 degrees after working fine. They sent a guy out and said it would be a pressure switch @ $80 and $150 for the labor for a total of $220 (1st scam). I get home expecting to have a fixed hot tub. Instead, I have a bill for $530 for a water heater that I never agreed to be installed and 3 hours at $100 an hour to put it on. The tub was empty and now it doesnt work. Should of never involved these so-call professionals in the first place. FURIOUS!!! After doing some digging around, it all points to the owner. He makes the call without informing the customer first. I wish I would of read these reviews PRIOR. This place is a scam and Better Business Bureau needs to expose.
I bought a tub here a few months ago, worked with Angie, she is a AWESOME, she sent me to a closer location to get a few things....enter Chris Strom, the Sales and Business Development Manager....he is Unbelievable...full of energy and information and provided a bunch of tips to help me with some balancing issues. He took the time to write down everything and followed up with a text message with the same instructions. Customer Service is a lost art, but not to Chris Strom and Angie! Well Done Lifestyles....you are lucky to have them on your team!!!
Chris in Fenton was great to work with and we are happy with our purchase. Due to Covid, we had to make an appointment to see hot tubs. Chris was friendly and knowledgeable. The delivery to my home was effortless and the electrician Chris recommended was professional and did a great job. Chris even followed up after purchase and delivery to make sure things were good. That was impressive!
If you have anything but a Lifestyles spa, avoid this place at all cost. I was charged $154 for a service call, and a kid who had not experience came out, and all he did was take pictures and take notes that took no more than 30 minutes, and he spent the rest of time on the phone. I called weeks later after no response from them, and wanted to know where my quote was, and they said that my tub was not one of their tubs, and that parts were not available. I self-diagnosed that my tub is fixable myself, and just needs a new generic heater element and some new generic manifolds that any plumber can fix, and I will be fixing myself in the spring. I feel ripped off!
We purchased a used hot tub a year ago. Our first tub. We had some minor things we wished to upgrade shortly after the purchase, and due to a recent power outage in our area the internal board got fried as a result of the power surge. We have found the team at Lifestyle Hot Tubs to provide top service with both of our service request.
PSA...we purchased a tub on Feb 14, was told it would take 3 weeks to build and we would get a call to schedule delivery. Its now been almost 6 weeks and still no tub. Repeated calls go to voicemail and go unanswered. No response to emails or texts. Talked to our salesman once and was told he would look into it and call us back that was 2 weeks ago. We have not heard back. Calls, Voicemail, email, all no response. We are out our $1000 deposit and have no tub. Strongly suggest you shop elswhere!
Be very careful when purchasing a refurbished hot tub. Our tub had numerous items broken and lights not working. Nothing was listed or disclosed before buying this tub. Service department refused to repair the issues. Will never purchase from Lifestyle again.Joseph was helpful but hands were tied by service department.
We have had our hot tub for 10 years. Our whole family enjoys using it almost everyday. Its great on a cold day when you want to get warm really quick. Love soaking in it when my muscles are sore. My sons loved relaxing in it after football practices/games and track meets. Whenever we had a question or minor repair, someone was always available to help us right away. We highly recommend Lifestyles Hot Tubs. We couldnt imagine life without a hot tub any more.
We have had a wonderful experience with Joseph and the HotSprings Fenton team. Our hot tub issues were not their fault, but they helped us trouble shoot and went above and beyond in communication/efforts. They made several trips to our home to fix the problems and educated us on how to prevent the same issues from happening again. We will remain customers of theirs in the future.
Awful. We purchased a Grandee tub from this company a couple of years ago and then paid about $1000 to have them winterize and move it for us to a new home. After filling it back up we discovered the tub had a leak. Not only were they not willing to pay for it, they were not even willing to give us a ball park estimate on what it would cost to repair...they only said it had to be repaired at the warehouse (so another couple hundered to disconnect/reconnect with electrician). I would have thought after paying such a steep price for the cadillac of hot tubs it would come with some better customer service.
Our friends recommended Lifestyles to us. We wanted a hot tub but didnt want to spend alot. We made an appt and went to their warehouse and were shown many used spas, some were great, others looked old. We found one that worked with our budget and were able to take it home the same day, they even loaded it up for us with a forklift! It was a great experience and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a low priced hot tub.
I strongly advise going anywhere but Lifestyle! Their customer service is abysmal! We paid in advance for a part that took over 4 weeks to be delivered , then waited for the tech to come out, tear the tub apart only to have the problem still not fixed!I am beyond disgusted and will never give this place my business let alone a good word.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!Our repair experience has been horrible! 8 weeks, 3 repair visits and $700 for a part that we didnt need....and still the problem is undiagnosed. We have yet to get a competent technician or talk to anyone at the company that cares about customer service. Our most recent conversation with the company ended with us asking to be transferred to a supervisor. They refused stating first she is at lunch and then we prefer to deal with things at a grassroots level. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POORLY TRAINED TECHNICIANS!
Terrible customer service.. I was in the market for a new spa, and I continually got the runaround, from someone via their text app. It shouldn’t take two days to tell me what your inventory looks like. Their loss, as I went somewhere else and purchased a beautiful spa from the backyard store in Brighton.
This is a great company to work for! They really care about their employees and customers and it shows. The amount of long term relationships (40+ years) with many of their customers, with some families working on their 2nd and 3rd generations coming to Lifestyles, really goes to show how much effort they put into their customer service. I couldnt ask for a better company to work for, and would recommend using their products and/or services to any of my freinds, family, or anyone else considering Pool, Patio, or Hot Tub needs.

2022-06-10Up until delivery everything was going well. I was told prior to delivery date that my time window would be 10am-2pm. That day it was changed to noon to 4pm. Not ideal but I could still make it work. At 4pm I had to call again and was informed I was still 2 stops out. At this point I had my sons baseball game that evening and I could not sit around waiting for them to show up. They did move me ahead of the other deliveries and arrived just before 5pm. I still had to make my sons game but my wife waited at home until the install was complete. The next day I noticed they damaged my stairs and never said anything. In addition, as I started to fill up my tub I noticed there was no plug and the water was draining as fast as I was filling. I called customer service and I am now waiting for them to UPS me the plug. So two days into having my hot tub Im still not able to use it. I am hesitant in recommending Lifestyles to friends and family based on the delivery service

2022-03-01Purchased a used tub in July 2020 for about $9,000. It is nice when it is operational. Unfortunately Lifestyles does not have an adequately staffed service department to keep your tub running. All tubs will need service at times and a tub is therefore only as good as the service behind it. My control panel stopped working over Christmas break 2021. I called Lifestyles to repair it the first week of January. I had to wait 3 weeks for my appointment, which was not great, but I accepted that. The repairman can as promised on 1/25/22 and informed me I needed a new control box and head, which would take 2-3 weeks. It is now March and I am still waiting to hear back from Lifestyles. I have called to check on status several times, but have never been contacted by Lifestyles about status. The truly frustrating part that upsets me is when I learned that it took Lifestyles 10 days to order the parts after my service call. They were able to charge my credit card on the day of the service call, but could not take the time to actually order the part for 10 days. No apology from Lifestyles. It just demonstrates the lack of empathy and responsiveness that you would hope for from a more reputable company. I have been without a tub for the whole winter now, which is when we normally would have used it the most. I have been running a space heater in the hot tub compartment just to keep it from freezing. In summary, Lifestyles does not adequately staff their service department, which creates a big risk when purchasing a tub from them.

2022-03-09I love my hot tub, purchased at the Lifestyles Ann Arbor location. After a few years of very frequent use, regular care and maintenance, I woke up one morning and my hot tub was not working. So, I called to make an appointment for repair. The appointment was made, then cancelled due to inclement weather. When I made the follow up appointment, I made sure to book it for my day off of work, and payday. The repair man showed up without warning the day before scheduled, outside of the time frame that was scheduled, had an attitude, and claimed our hot tub was beyond repair, and left. I received a call from my wife (who was home at the time) upset about the experience. So I called, explained my frustrations, and I was told theyd get back with me with a solution. Then, I received multiple texts and calls stating that they wanted $194 for the service visit. Keep in mind, they showed up on the wrong date, at the wrong time, and did nothing. The hot tub was fine, is now fixed, (by someone else) and Lifestyles Spas of Fenton was wrong about so many things the entire time and refused to do anything to make it correct.

2022-01-20Overall garbage.I ordered a tub cover in October and was told due to supply chain issues I probably wouldnt see it till after Christmas. I agreed and paid for it. Around Christmas I decided to atop in to see if anything had come up. I was then told my cover was never ordered. I wasnt happy about it but some of the office staff tried to help by offering me another cover they had on hand. it wasnt the color I ordered, but I needed one, so I agreed. I then waited over a week to get it installed. I was given a time window of 12 to 4 pm, as 3 pm approached, I called them and was informed another call was put ahead of me and that the installer was 3 hrs. behind. it was going to 7pm. This being after I rearranged my day to deal with this. After he showed up, he found a part that wasnt installed properly from the last time they were out with the previous owners. He said he would be back with the part the following day. As a good will gesture, he also offered to replace the shock on my cover. the next day came and went, he never showed up 3 days later a guy from their officed showed up with the shock and the part. After I called to complain I was only offered some free chemicals.I will never do business with this outfit again.

2022-04-30I would leave zero stars if I could. Waited 1 year for a new cover and they sent out wrong size cover. Coming up on year 2 of waiting and now the cradle does not work with the new cover. No one has mentioned in the past 2 years that we would also need a new cradle. We’ve also needed things replaced under warranty then those items have gotten canceled because someone noted there was “no payment” We were not even notified, they just didn’t show up at the scheduled time and this is what we were told after the fact. It’s under warranty, of course there is no payment in your system. How this place even exists still is beyond me.

2022-04-07We had our tub serviced, heater needed to be replaced. . Cost was almost 1000$. Fast forward to just a year later , the heater is already junk (not heating) and am told the “new” heater is just out of warranty . Junk replacement parts. Not happy

2021-10-29Buyer beware! Placed deposit on 11/30/2020 for new hot spring tub. Was told 4-6 months wait. Called at 5 month mark and was told 15-20 week more wait. Called at the 15 week mark and was told an additional 12 weeks. I said never mind i will find one somewhere else. Was never notified about extended wait time until i called to inquire so i had had enough of the run around. Was contacted the very next day by chris strom, sales and business development manager, and said i have one in stock for you right now. So i paid for it and received it about 2 weeks later. Upon delivery they did not have the disconnect (supposed to be included and delivered at time of tub). Was told to go buy one and would be reimbursed. Bought one still havent been reimbursed. Went to fill with water and it immediately leaked out. Service call #1 day1. Filled with water wouldnt heat. Service call #2 day 3. Found out pumps were installed backwards. Had to drain tub and reinstall pumps. Service call #3 day 10. Refilled tub which we were supposed to be reimbursed for the water since they recommended we have water delivered. Still havent been reimbursed. Hot tub has trouble codes semi regularly that basically shut down most jet functions and essentially put it in limp mode. Service call #4 within a month. Replaced pressure switch still having codes. I discussed the possibility of receiving a not new hot tub with jamie sever, vice president, he said it sounds like i got a floor model and asked if i received a floor model discount. I said no and its best they just come and get the tub because its obvious i have not received what i paid for. He told me too bad. So i would not recommend buying anything from this place

2020-10-29Ive been waiting for a warranty repair appointment for more than 10 months and still do not have a service date scheduled. A technician visited my home in January 2020 to confirm the repair would be covered by warranty and I called the office to schedule a time for the hot tub to be picked up for repair. I have spoke to two different office personnel numerous times and sent follow-up emails requesting to schedule a repair date and keep getting told a manager will call me back. When I call, Im told there is no manager available to speak to and I have yet to receive a return call.

2021-04-20Bought new tub from Chris Strom, sales manager. Chris went out of his way to make purchase, install, and tub set up a true white glove experience. Chris returns texts and phone calls within the business day. He understands the lost art of customer service. I recommend Chris for all your hot tub needs...

2021-04-11We went with the thought of just looking. Joe was the salesman who assisted us. He was incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. He was not pushy at all. We didnt buy anything yet, but will absolutely buy from him. One of the things l liked best was that he treated me as an equal to my husband. So often salesmen will refuse to work with women and only talk to the male. Joe was so awesome!
