Great place with tons of varieties. They had a nice table in the middle of the shop with small samples of most if not all the types of tea to smell and see what what you liked. The guy there was very nice and knowledgeable about the subject and helped us find a great selection. Highly recommended if you love tea or just looking to explore some interesting flavors to try.
There’s absolutely no other tea that even remotely compares. As soon as you open the tin you realize the quality of this tea. The fragrance and flavor are so robust. And not only that, the tea also has so many different medicinal values. Can’t go wrong with a purchase from Light of Day Organics.
The tea is delicious. Heads up- Order online vs over the phone to ensure the prices are not changed. I was disappointed to learn I was overcharged for a tea due to the two systems not connecting. I would not have bought the second tea if I would have known it was not the sale price over the phone.
Who knew that you could grow tea in the US, much less Northern Michigan! The staff are so knowledgeable, and the tea tasting was awesome. We left not only with a load of amazing tea, but a tremendous amount of tea knowledge as well. We will definitely be ordering all of our teas from them from now on!
This is the friendliest place Ive ever walked in to. The grounds are beautiful, and the tea is delicious. They have a huge selection of organic teas. Tea tasting is reasonable, and it was also very informative. I would definitely recommend Light of Day Organics to any tea lover.
Tea tasted great. However the tea tasting was a bit pricy ($10/person for 5 different tea). I expected they would talk about history and the back ground of their tea garden. I also expected they made fresh tea in a tea set to serve us. It turned out the tea lady just served us pre-made tea and talked about what was already on the label. A little suggestion: please don’t put extra stuff like mango juice with Matcha Tea because it really killed the matcha flavor. Or tell costumer that’s matcha tea mixed with mango juice instead of just matcha tea. :)
We had a delightful experience with Teri. She was knowledgeable, personable, and best of all, fun! We had a flight of tea, and a tisane. Then we tried Matcha. The shop is calming, the farm is pretty. She also gave us homework. Yes! We are to spread the word that herbal tea is actually not tea. It is tisane. Teri, we are using the correct name, and telling everyone we know. And I continue to slurp with great abandon. Definitely worth the trip.
I learned about Light of Day Oragnics at The Omelette Shoppe in Grand Rapids, MI. My mom ordered the Creamy Earl Grey with our brunch on New Years Day. I had just started getting a terrible cold and it soothed my throat and tasted amazing! I also found a local shop that carries it as well. Now, I need to get a travel mug/press!

2022-07-30I took the Tea 101 class with my mom and daughter. We had such a great time learning about and tasting the different tea preparations. Angela was so welcoming. Our favorite teas were the matcha, white tea, and creamy earl grey. We will definitely be back for a visit next time we are in the Traverse City area.

This is a must see stop when visiting Traverse City for every tea lover.I am so happy to have found a new source of tea, grown right here in Michigan.Love the mission of Light of Day Organics.

2019-05-20Light of Day has the best loose leaf tea I have ever tasted. And I absolutely adored their tea room and gardens. The staff is very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I could have stayed for hours smelling teas on the sniff bar. You may be off put by the prices, but please remember you are paying for quality here. And boy is this quality tea! Even on a foggy, drizzly day this place seemed magical.

2019-06-22Feeling relaxed at this peaceful organic tea farm. We appreciate the very knowledgeable staff! My husband and I tried a cup of the Red Raspberry green tea and the Happy Spleen green tea.

2021-04-12Really fantastic and comforting tea. Angela is a nice woman and the tea is superior to anything boxed AND certified organic. She runs the place on solar energy... how cool is that? I spoke to her on the phone only once, sometime in June of 2020 becausewe were curious about the tasting room/ shop.Even though she was busy tending to the land, she offered to show us around, we didn’t take her up on it yet but have been buying the tea’s at Oryana bulk in TC ever since. The price point is worth it for the traditional medicinal benefits of organic local herbal teas.

2021-06-24Took a fabulous tour of the farm and had an amazing education about the process of producing tea from start to finish. It was a wonderful experience and had a chance to taste several different teas which were all excellent.

2021-07-09Kinda disappointed this time. I have not been there in a few years. They had a store then. This time there tea was all in a trailer. The inventory was really low. Not much of a selection. They only had one of the teas I came to buy. They were out of the other two.

2020-08-19The tea is great but customer service is less than expected. We have previously ordered on line with 10$ shipping a 4.5oz can. So we decided to order for pickup at their facility. We were charged $1.50 handling fee on top of the somewhat pricey cost of the tea. The tea was put in a bag and set on their porch for us to walk up and retrieve, so Im not sure what the handling charge was.

2021-09-19Bottom line: Great teas! It is unfortunate that their tasting room is closed. Sign of the the times. Try the creamy earl grey, nothing quite like it.
