Great basketball hoops, beautiful trees for shade and cutting down the wind on gusty days. Playground is great, especially for imaginative children. Awesome place to sirens a few hours.
Lots of grass area to play possibly great sledding opportunities lol. But seems like playground was removed? Not sure whats going on.
Kids and I had a blast! Although if you have little littles be prepared because there are some areas where they will need some extra close supervising due to some of the obstacles on the playground!
It was a beautiful day and Ive never been to luminous Park before and neither has my grandson which is now 3. There was plenty to do and he ran around everywhere climbing and sliding and swinging ect.
Very nice clean park. Its large with BBQ pits, picnic tables, playground and basketball court. Nice place to take family or pets for a picnic.
Beautiful Park love the improvements cant wait to see finished improvements Loomis Park has changed so much since I was a kid from the neighborhood,just wish people would try harder to keep it clean👍👍✌🇺🇸
My kids love coming there and every other Monday they have a food pantry type thing going on
They ruined the big hill out front for sledding but they do have the nice playscape for the kids on the ganson St side plus I noticed the equipment to it looks like they are redoing the basketball/tennis courts bad thing is Ive found used needles the last couple of times I was there

Park equipment desperately needs some restoration. Plenty of wood is broken and deteriorated. Rubber protective covers are also deteriorating.
Pretty park with childrens playground is usually peaceful and quiet. Nice stop for adults to catch a break and enjoy a little taste of nature.
Nice play structure but a bit too much trash. Im willing to pick up some other peoples trash sometimes but not when Im playing with my 2 year old.
Needs some updates but great place to go chill will the kids.

A nice, open, grass area. Asphalt and walkways need some attention, but basketball and tennis court seem ok. Still a nice enough location for any activity.
My dad has fond memories of playing tennis and baseball at Loomis Park in the 1940s when he was in high school and visited family in Jackson. He mentions it in his biographical notes that Im typing up for him.
Brought our Southside Deli here for a picnic. Very pretty park. Glad to see something like this place is offered in Jackson.
The play structure is a lot of fun, but there is graffiti everywhere and a general feeling of unsafeness to the park.

There is no playground. Just basketball hoops. My son and I were very disappointed.
We love the Hurst planetarium!!! Its our favorite thing to do on Sundays!!! So much fun...

Had some test done at the hospital. There was Time to kill until my next appointment. I ran a few places, couldnt think of any place else to go. Then I thought of the park, it was close to the hospital. So I drove up to it to wait until my appointment time. While I was there, my presence was verbally, greatly unwanted. So I dont know if it happens all the time. Or just that one incident. But I was greatly unimpressed. Despite the feeling of being unwanted, it is a cute little park.

2019-08-03We saw this park while driving by and stopped on a whim. The kids loved it and couldve stayed all day. Nice and shaded when we were there!A variety of swings, including a neat child/adult combo swing.

2021-08-14They used to have a fence around the playground. Between the kids and the parents usually sitting and letting the run and the older kids destructive tendencies, there is no fence. Still a nice place to sit and chill or eat lunch. They need more picnic benches about if they insist on keeping them all under the gazebo. Plus, in the summer at least, they should have at least a water fountain.

2021-07-31Ive watched this place turn from a questionable park to a very nice park over the years. Growing up in Jackson and within the area of the park Ive witnessed a lot of negative things but Ive also witnessed the most recent changes and I can say that theyve done a great job as of late keeping it safe and up to code for the citizens of Jackson to enjoy, a great place for birthday parties.
