Really good egg rolls. Every time I have been here the fried foods taste better than other places. It doesn’t have that “old oil” taste, I think they change their oil more often, and it shows in a good way. The food has been good every time and I would highly recommend.
I have been a customer of this restaurant for years and it has been very good. However, within the last couple of years, I have not gotten what I ordered and I order pretty much the same items. I have had two orders of Mu Shu lately and it did not have pork as I requested, but looked like beef instead. The meat in the Mu Shu was flavored like beef and texture more like swiss steak. The pork is sliced and has the BBQ coating on the outside, this was no where close. The Won Ton soup used to be the best in the area, light delicate broth. It is now like yellow salt water. Very disappointed.
Great food, great family running the business. However, they are notorious for telling you short wait times when it could easily be double. If they just gave realistic wait times I would give them 5 stars but when I wait almost 2 hours for food that they told me would be a half hour it lowers my rating.
Vegetable rolls and vegetable egg food young were drenched with oil, every time I ordered, it wasnt like a one off situation. Vegetable rice super bland.Broccoli with garlic sauce is good.Singapore noodles are good.General Tsos tofu is good half the time and tastes like plastic the other half the time.Whenever you call to order food she will ask you if you want to order other dishes you used to order, which is annoying then you feel pressured and irritated every single time you order, to order more.Wait times stink, 50% of the time you will be waiting double the time stated.
Possibly some of the best Chinese food Ive had. I feel like their chicken is breaded with their own recipe and everything they use is high quality. Portions are stuffed to the brim enough for 2 meals. Their prices are comparable to others in the area. Everyone is friendly although it can be a little hard to understand them at times. Only downside is that their seating is limited to 3 tables.
Wanting Chinese food, I came here relying solely upon Google reviews. I was not disappointed! I ordered shrimp with garlic sauce and my wife had chicken lo mein. Our meals were made quickly and were hot and fresh when brought to the table. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Based on this experience, I will defiantly give them another try when Im in the area again.
I give this place three stars because the chicken fried rice was better than other local Chinese food take out. The sweet and sour chicken was what you would expect from an average China takeout. The Mongolian beef was mostly packed with onions and very little (and I mean little) beef. But the flavor was great. Prices were cheap but it was nothing more than your average Chinese take-out.
How was Luckys House...Well, Google, its difficult to say as this is the second time Ive had to cancel my order due to the order/pickup time online being over an hour off. I should say AT LEAST an hour plus off, because when I cancelled at the 90-minute mark (after being told 25), they had yet to touch my order - to say nothing of the tickets still ahead of me.I get that things are off right now - but they need to speak to whoever is setting their default prep/pickup times. There has to be a way to set a reasonable expectation here.Ridiculous.
Do not use their online ordering option! I used to stop in to this restaurant and take-out all the time, but tonight I placed an online order, their website states a 30-60 minute delivery window - seemed reasonable. An hour and ten minutes later I was still waiting on my delivery. When I called to check the status, the woman said it would be another 25 minutes. 40 minutes later (almost 2 hours after original order time) I called back and the same woman said it would be another 8 minutes. I expressed how upset I was with this experience, but as I was speaking I overheard her ignoring me and speaking to another customer while I was on the phone. So I hung up. She called me back a minute later and said the food hadnt left yet, so if I wanted to cancel the order, I could.... thats just what I did. I work in the customer service industry, therefore I understand what it means to take care of your customer. This experience was completely unacceptable... I will never order from this restaurant again.
Hands down the worst Chinese food I have ever had. We ordered a variety of things and none of it was good. Chicken was soggy, tasted undercooked and was pink on the inside. Egg drop soup tasted old and burnt. Egg rolls were dry and chewy.I highly recommend going somewhere else!
I get Lucky House delivered to my work a lot. I absolutely love it! I have been to many of the Chinese restaurants around East Lansing and Okemos, but honestly, Lucky House is the most dependable, tasty, and affordable place Ive found. If I could give it more that 5 star I would.
I used to order pretty regularly, and got a little frustrated with a dish or two missing, or getting less or more of this or that (less egg rolls but more rice for example). I took a break from ordering because I got tired of the order being incorrect or taking a ridiculous amount of time to receive (two hours on one occasion when we live 8 miles away). Tonight my husband and I ordered in hope of having leftovers. When I spend $50 on food, I like it to be decent. Tonight our order was wrong, which was okay I guess, what wasnt okay and is not going to be okay, is finding copious amounts of hair in my broccoli chicken! It was literally wrapped around the broccoli stalks, and since I didnt stir the dish, I cannot consider it to have come from my home at all. My hair is also braided back this evening, and the strand is black.I highly recommend taking the time to order Panera, Dominos, Hungry Howies, or going to the Asian Buffet.
Ordered Kung Pao (I asked for EXTRA SPICY) and some spring rolls. The Kung Pao is awesome here, great sauce not to thick, just the right viscosity. The spring rolls were delicious and I had enough sauce from my dish to dip them in witch is exactly what I want. First time trying the place but definitely not my last!
The best take-out in the Okemos/Haslett/East Lansing area for sure. All your favorites, large portions, good quality, decent prices for the quality and the portions. Their fried dishes can sometimes be a bit overcooked (Sesame/Tsos/Orange chickens) but their stir-fried dishes like szeshuan and kung pao are always great. So is their sweet & sour chicken and shrimp if you need a fix of that sort of thing. My favorite is their Hunan chicken, which is a stir fry with lotus root, carrot, celery, mushroom, onion, and those fermented black bean type things that are amazing. A little licoricy and garlicky with just the right kick. My wife likes the garlic broccoli and veggie lo-mein. Their steamed dumplings are also fantastic. Spring rolls are the best of their egg roll, shrimp roll and spring roll options - although the shrimp roll is good too. Not a huge fan of the egg roll. A lot of people seem to order the fish dishes that are usually on special, but Ive never taken the dive. There are a couple tables in there - Ive only seen anyone eating there a couple times though. They also deliver for like $3 more, and its usually fast, but it can occasionally take way longer than it should. We usually do pick up anyway.Great place, and its been around a long time.
My food came over a hour after ordering it and the guy tried walking away to keep my change for a tip. It was cold and I only live 1 minute from the resteraunt. This isnt the first time this has happened either! I thought the previous time was a fluke or mistake but its apparently just the business.
They brought wrong food refused to correct and hung up the phone. They were extremely rude we didn’t eat any of the tofu (we ordered chicken) and when we finally spoke to some one they said we called to late to fix it, (never heard of such a thing it had been 20 min) when we were trying to call them but they would just hang up.
Ive ordered from Lucky House for a long time now and until now, despite the awful costumer service and the fact they are constantly late every time (by an hour and a half or so), I didnt see the point of complaining. However this time, after placing my order for General Tsos Tofu (which I know is a vegetarian dish as the lady on the phone told me many times before) I got my meal with pork fried rice. I have been a vegetarian for over 6 years for religious reasons and when I called Lucky House, distressed and thinking that the order must have gotten mixed up, she told me that the General Tsos Tofu comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll. This obviously is a new combo they are doing and I explained the situation and instead of her admitting the issue and apologizing (which I would have accepted and moved on) she tried to blame me. Instead of taking fault and having a new one delivered she demanded I come into the store and pick up a new one (which I cant due to the fact I dont own a car). After her continuing to insist the situation was my fault I told her I wouldnt be ordering anymore from them if this is how they handled their costumers. She then scoffed and HUNG UP ON ME. I have been a costumer since I moved to the area but I WILL NOT BE ORDERING AGAIN.
Since there are only three tables in this tiny place, its not a sit-down restaurant. Come here for the Chinese take-out. Portions are double of what a normal person can eat in one sitting, and the food is excellent. If you have a group of five, order three meals and split them or plan on leftovers for lunch.
Ordered food over 1 and half hours called said be rite here, he called said couldnt find house we said we would meet him at gas station where he was and went there he was gone called in and was told he canceled the order.Waiting for food for 1 and 1/2 hours no food big zero.

2022-05-05The shrimp in my Shrimp with Garlic Sauce tasted disgusting. The rest of the dish is great, but if theyre going to use imitation shrimp, they should reveal that on their menu.

2022-01-25Awesome take out Chinese place for the days when you don’t wanna go to the kitchen. LolMy kids love their food a lot. Their Lo mein, hot and sour soup and all the chicken curries are really good. Also if we want the dishes spicy they customize them. Really recommend their food for a quiet movie night at home or even a party at home👍🏼

2021-06-12The food is terrible. The general tsos taste nothing like general tso chicken. The vegetables are hardly cooked compared to what people are used to. I recommend MC World Buffet on west Saginaw highway.

2021-08-06Excellent chinese food. Everything weve ordered has been tasty. Takeout only, the wait has been reasonable. Seems to be family owned. Prices are reasonable as well. Cant say enough good things about Lucky House.

2021-09-14Decent food and a lot of it. Incredible price for volume. They seem like great people too! They make everything to order so it helps to call ahead, but its worth it!
