Luckys Steakhouse in other cities:
Worst restaurant experience in my life. They close at 10pm on Wednesdays but when I got there at 8:30pm, staff was already sweeping, and closing. They said they had already done last call for alcohol beverages and that kitchen was closing at 9. We made an order for two steaks well done. One came down pink and the other one dry with no sauce or salt. We kindly requested the pink one to be redone. They brought it back so burnt, looking like charcoal. When we asked to see the manager, she came and started laughing at our plates. We didnt eat or take home anything, but the manager insisted we pay for the mushrooms that came with the steaks.
This has been one of my favorite places to go since it opened, so of course I decided I wanted to got there for my birthday yesterday. Our waitress was new and super nice, however that was the end of the positive part of our experience. Our appetizer took forever to come out due to a new person in the kitchen being in charge of apps. The entrees for our table of 4 came out, all but mine. The waitress explained that it had gotten taken to another table by mistake and they were cooking mine right then. The rest of my family ended up being 3/4 of the way done with their meal by the time mine came out without the side of mushrooms and onions that I ordered. 10 minutes later those arrived at the table.Following all of this my husband asked to speak to the manager. During this conversation she came over and he explained our experience for the night. She didnt seem to listen, but instead made multiple excuses for what happened and then said she would give us a discount on our bill (ended up being 10%) and of course I would receive a free desert (which was customary for being there on my birthday). When the manager left our table another guest who was with us saw her making faces and mocking us to another employee for letting her know about our concerns.I confronted the manager on this as we were leaving telling her that if shes was going mock or complain about customers expressing concern that she should do it where other customers cant see her. She of course lied to my face saying I promise you I did not until I walked away and then when my back was turned to her did the same thing again (saw by another member of my family who was waiting for us).Needless to say we wont be going back!
Last night: we had a great time celebrated my birthday and my good friend called in and got us a bottle of really good red wine for the meal. My porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection and delicious!Last fall: It was a little chaotic in the restaurant, primarily because they were super busy and for good reason. Great steaks, fresh Caesars salad, wonderful asparagus, and a perfect martini, all for half of what Id pay in Raleigh NC.
Had a terrible experience tonight. I got a steak it was supposed to be medium well it was on the medium rare side. It took us 20 minutes to get anyone over to check on us. I finally was able to send it back as everyone was finished with their meals. It came back more done but was a plate full of grease. I could tilt the plate and it was a puddle. Then we wanted to speak to the manager about it and see if we could just take it off the bill. It took 25 minutes to get our waitress to come back and there was still no manger. We received our bill with the steak still not taken off. We had to ask why we haven’t seen the manger. Finally our waitress came back and told us it was taken off. We never saw a manger, it was terrible service and steak. I am usually never one to complain as I have worked in customer service and understand times are hard but I was extremely disappointed.
This is one of the best chain steakhouses over ever visited. Their steaks were big and cooked to perfection. A generous choice of delicious sides were offered. I was skeptical about their finishing sauce for the ribeye, so I had it on the side. It was delicious! Added perfectly to the steak without overpowering the meat. Why a 4 star review? The crater as you exit the poorly lot parking lot damaged my car. When I called about it, they said there was nothing they could do about it. Ill be back to Luckys, just never this location until that parking lot is fixed.
Had to wait 20 minutes on Saturday before the 4th of July. Reservations for only bigger groups. We sat at the bar and had a drink. Waitress got us waters and took our orders. We could tell they were down some staff on the floor and in the kitchen, but everyone was positiveI ordered the filet medallions. Great flavor! My wife got a very nice piece of salmon. Sides were great too. Very enjoyable. We will be back!
My family likes this place and the service and staff are great; however, the food on the other hand is terrible. Ive tried at least 7 entrees and all have been poorly cooked and the quality of meat has seemed terrible. I really have tried to like this place and honestly dont like giving the bad review because the staff is so awesome but as an eatery I find it lacking. Ive had better food in bars with no kitchen. P. S dont ever get the ribs if you try this place, the meat has a disgusting, old, flavorless boil taste; the appearance is equally unappetizing as it resembles roadkill.
Got to the restaurant and waited to talk to hostess. That was a 10 minute wait with no one in front of us. Then they told us an hour wait, which we knew was likely for all restaurants around town and we were ok with that. At exactly 1 hour they sat us. We proceeded to wait another hour and 45 minutes for our food. My husbands did not come out with the rest of ours. When his finally did, the stuffed grouper was not fully cooked. At this point he didn’t even want to complain because at this point they were closed (at 8pm) and we didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes or whatever for them to cook another. My potatoes were cold as well so I didn’t even eat them. We left a small tip but we just won’t be back. And I would not recommend eating here.
Luckys is one of my favorite restaurants in this area and they do a fantastic job with steaks and homemade bread and lots and lots more. On this particular visit I ordered my large porterhouse somewhere in between rare and medium rare and what I got was medium well plus the food took at least an hour to come out because they were short on staff. Additionally I if I would have had a fall jacket in the car I would have gotten it and put it on because the air conditioning was set so low it was amazing. I think the mushrooms were nice and hot when they left the kitchen but the smaller ones were already cold by the current time they got to the table. My wifes boneless ribeye steak was done perfectly and she really loved it. I would have actually returned mine had it not been so late in the evening by the time it showed up. Our server Frankie was fantastic though and thanked us for our patients and took good care of us with regard to what she has control over.
This particular visit the service was great! I was able to get in and be attended to promptly. The food was just ok.I asked for my steak to be prepared medium well but it came rare.My sweet potatoe was rubbery, and not too great. It was my first meal of the day and I was famished, so, rather than bring it up and wait longer, I just ate it with no mention of it.Im convinced judging by my past visits it doesnt matter how you ask for the steak to be prepared they will always be prepared rare. The bread they serve is fresh and tastes great!
I dont recommend this particular location for their food. The service was great but the food was mediocre at best to borderline unappetizing. I had the shrimp and crab cakes. I was served two overcooked small shrimp on top of two undercooked crab cakes. The dressings for the salads were house-made but they were horrible, too much cornstarch was used for thickening, and not enough herbs and spices for flavor. There were horrible water stains on the dishes, glasses, and cutlery. This restaurant has the potential to be good, the back of the house just needs some revisions.
Bartender no offense to anyone an African American homesexual ignored me for starters then tended to other guests. Upon taking my order had an attitude and left my salad 3 feet away. First bad experience here and its really left a sour taste in my mouth. Currently waiting on my entree but reluctant to return. No tip for this individual for sure. Hopefully this event doesnt deter me from returning to this establishment, I always visit when Im here for work with Dart Container.
Food was good, but ..... Was informed after we ate and were ready to pay, that gift cards (we had a visa gift card) dont work with their system. Apparently some credit cards dont work either (sams credit card). Lucky we had cash/debit card to pay. They need to explain prior that only certain payments are accepted. We also had to wait 15 minutes for a server to come up to take the order and get our drinks after being seated. Update: found out next day they charged us an adult price for a kids meal. I should of reviewed the bill better, but thats still no excuse to take advantage/be dishonest. We will not ne back
Two great meals last two days, with family and friends. Boys bkb finals at Breslin, my HS from UP playing for championship-ETC Panthers!Had Steakhouse Salad yesterday, Steamed Mussels-sweet and tender- and Stuffed Mushrooms today. Both meals were wonderful! Will go back soon!
This is the worst restaurant experience we have ever had at Luckys. Our waitress was new and I get that. Asked to seak to manager. Apparently the manager was new and had never worked at Luckys rither. Had to argue over whether you received 2 sides with an entrée. Thankfully the hostess was able to read the menu to the manager. Bread was not warm. warm warm.
Stopped in for dinner and was told it would be a half hour wait. We said wed wait, but our table was ready in closer to 7 minutes. We thought that was cool.We were seated and told our server would be with us soon. She stopped by, said shed be right back with some bread and left. Then we never saw her again. After 20 minutes of the dull roar of the restaurant and ear piercing screams from children at a nearby table, we still had no bread, no drink orders taken, and no sign of our server in sight, we figured it was likely an indication of how much neglect we could expect throughout our meal and decided to go to Stillwater. We had scallops and crab stuffed salmon. Stillwater was pretty good, prompt, and friendly while also being peaceful and accommodating. Will eat at Stillwater again.
First time and wont be back the service was atrocious they acted as if it was thier first day on the job with no training. Couldnt answer questions told us for 45 minutes the bread was baking then finally an hour later told us the bread person went home. The food was subpar my Monterey chicken was missing the onions and peppers so it was just chicken cheese bacon. No sauce and Two piles of redskins potatoes. The server did not check on us we had to get the manager ourselves because of my food. They did comp my meal and gave us free dessert . The cheesecake tasted like jello cheesecake mix and the tablespoon of raspberry sauce was enough for one bite. Very disappointed I had heard better about this steakhouse.
Best part hands down was our server. The establishment as a whole was clean. Including the RR. I ordered the fish. The breading was ENTIRELY too thick. It overwhelmed the actual fish in an extreme way. I pulled at least half of it off in order to enjoy the actual fish. Side dish bacon mac & cheese was good. Spinach/mushroom was HORRIBLE! The cajun shrimp & stuffed mushrooms appetizers were really good.
I had a reservation for 15 people reserved over a month in advance and they only had one waiter for all of us, our food was given To us separately, it was cold, I ordered first and almost 3 hours later I still haven’t got my sides To my steak and got the bill before I even got my full entree and they tried to charge me full price for everything. I won’t be coming back here. Everyone’s meal was cold and messed up and they were just trying to take off 15% when it’s food we never even received.
06/01/2022 Came in for dinner to celebrate our kids 13th birthday, never been before but hear great things. 6pm Dinner Rush times, no problem I understand I have worked in the industry before. Our party of 5 (2-adults,2-13 year olds,1-4 year old) was told it would be about 20 min wait. No problem gave the hostess our phone number and was told that we will get a text when a table is ready. Waited outside about 15 mins came inside to wait on our text. about another 15 mins pass by a young gentleman asked a few questions and proceeded to the dinning room to clean tables. (at that point we were thinking maybe that was for us?).... About 10 mins go by and still no one has texted or talked to us again. So, I then ask one of the two girls that seemed to be holding up hostess area I guess? How long they think until a table would be ready, she asks my name and she replies ooh we texted you about a table. I informed her that I have not gotten a text-again no problem glitches in tech happen.Food was fab!! No complaints there!! Great Job to the Cooks on Duty! I sneak away from my family to ask the hostess if they do anything special for birthdays (same girl I dealt with in the beginning) She states to me Yes! We do Sing for the birthday guests, So I ask her if we can set that up. She then tells me that I need to tell my waitress, Ok no problem (not your job I get it) Find my waitress and ask her the same thing does Lucks do anything special for birthdays? She replies: unfortunately we do not sorry (in the sweetest and sincerest voice ever) I tell her ok thanks you. Asked for our brownie sundaes to be boxed to go and got the bill. On our way out the nice young gentleman that spoke to us prior asked if they like the birthday song and I informed him that no the waitress stated that Lucks does not do anything for birthdays, even though I was already informed that they do. We said have a good night and went on about our way. Side note- I have a friend that works here and this is how I originally knew that they do in fact sing for birthdays, just wanted my kiddos to get the whole birthday experience. But looks like the staff wasnt up for it?
My experience is the people are nice that Work there and frequent there. I’m a picky eater and a very clean person . Luckys is a place that’s crowded a lot . Mostly because there’s nothing else around for dinner . Still water across the street will soon close . The bar area is always dirty . The wait staff tries to wipe the counter off . Unfortunately because the counter is not sealed . It smears anything that’s put on it .so it smells from the rag , needs help . When you sit at the bar . You’ll notice the a film on the bar . It’s from the rag that wiped it . The glasses are always dirty , because the dish washer is worn out . The food is mediocre at best . They have a high turn over of staff . I’ve tried several times to eat there . Wife and I only drink beer there .seems the saga continues . Now new day manager is wearing frogs for shoes or . Everyone here seems lost . I’m sure soon owner who seems nice but lacking in judgement for management . This place will sell or close soon .
One of the worst experiences Ive had and we hadnt made it inside the restaurant. One staff person in particular was very unprofessional. The restaurant prioritized 1 game over a birthday reservation made far in advance. No consideration of customers time schedule or sacrifice made to accommodate the restaurant. No customer should have to change their already scheduled reservation for any reason. The party was willing to spend money at this place and they would rather close to watch tv than conduct good business. No wonder the parking lot was empty whoever is in charge of this place might want to reconsider staff choice and business practices.
I enjoyed my eating experience at Luckys Steakhouse, I ordered the Chicken Chardonnay with a salad and asparagus, it was so delicious and my friend ordered the Maryland Chicken which was delicious also , Luckys menu is extensive , they offer a wide variety of wines and beers, and martinis , as well as salads, burgers, and sandwiches , and steaks and seafood and pork chops , the staff was very attentive and helpful , being a first time customer , I definitely will be returning soon.
My first visit to Luckys Steakhouse was a mixed experience. We were seated promptly, the place is clean and pleasantly decorated. The food was fantastic, portions were generous and cooked perfectly. We had the prime rib that was on special and it was incredible. My only issue was the service, and it may be isolated to the server. The food was ready rather quickly, then the server disappeared...for 15-20 minutes at a time, and we could see them in the kitchen...just standing by the door.
First time there at 6pm on a Saturday. 30 minute wait, which was less than they estimated. Great food, attentive server. Overall, was really good and reasonably priced. Their menu has s 7 oz filet with a lobster tail for $25. Thats a lot less than other restaurants in the area. The filet medallions were cooked a perfect medium well, very tender, and buttery. Exactly how steak should be. The pork chops are huge, 9 ounces, and theres two of them. Will definitely be back. If youre not a fan of waiting, get there earlier for dinner.
Ordered the Cajun Rib eye an it was all fat an raw! Waited 2hrs for cold nasty food! Manager came past out table with a plater full of fat/undercooked steaks. Ask if I was the one with the fat steak? Sorry about that..an the kitchen was closed so no steak for the other table either.
Luckys is doing a great job of duplicating their customer experience from site to site across Michigan. I think this is the 5th location Ive visited and all have been great. Our party had 19 people in it which was a big challenge. However, our server was fantastic. She took great care of us, and the food was excellent. Ill definitely be back.
I have experienced several not so pleasant experiences (reservations, food & service) at Lucky’s -Okemos, but on yesterday (Dec. 15, 2021) I must admit everything was PERFECT, and there were no complaints about the quality of the food. Our group was 16 and when we arrived we were told that our reservations were at a different time as well as for only 6 and the location we were going to be seated was not available, however, the Manager quickly accommodated us with a better location. Our Server Aimee was the Best. She was so efficient, patient and pleasant-can’t say enough good things about her. Yesterday’s experience restored my fading opinion about Lucky’s.
I personally have sent a dozen or more folks here. The food is pretty good. My experience was not the greatest but many do like it. I found my Porterhouse to be charred instead of cooked. I asked for medium and I got well. But it was also busy, so Ill consider coming when its slower and update my review if it is an improvement.PROS: the bar area looks real nice if you are the sort that spends the evening drinking. They have a LOT of regulars that drink all night there.CONS: Personally I found the open layout was really loud. It was almost impossible to hear conversations at a table of 6. That to me is very odd for an expensive steakhouse.
Hung out for about 2 hours before the food came, the apps/salad came well before then, gave us time to hang out. This isnt a place for you if you arent willing to spend quality time with whoever you go with. Quality food and atmosphere (drinks especially Second time going and would go a third.
To start with the positives, the wait without a reservation on a sunday afternoon was quick, we probably had to wait only 5 minutes, maybe a little more. Menu items were tough to choose from, many things sounded very good. Prices I felt were reasonable for a restaurant like this, no problems there. What really gave me the negative experience was the service. Our server came to us relatively quickly, but subsequent visits were slow. The visit to take our food order, he did not follow up after giving food to see how things were (only to take another order of drinks), did not bring a coke that I ordered, and i had to ask another server to please ask our guy to stop by so we could ask for boxes and the bill. The bill was my next issue...granted, I SHOULD have asked, I absolutely am to blame for not clarifying this...right when you walk in they have a chalkboard next to the desk displaying todays specials. I ASSUMED (yes, I know what happens when you assume) that a special was a discounted-priced item. When I read the bill I asked our server about my meal, bringing up the sign at the front stating it is a special. He laughed and stated that its a feature, not a special. While I should have asked, I very much would have appreciated clarification when ordering. I got the stuffed salmon, which was absolutely fantastic. Great taste and a great portion amount.
Do not eat at this location, not a good experience at all. I get a lot of places are understaffed, but they had a good amount of waiters on the floor and the restraunt was not packed. Our waitress took a long time to check on us after appetizers, to clear our plates, for re- fills and our main course. the waiters and waitresses were no where to be found through out dinner. and while you can see through the kitchen, the employees were hanging out in the back and not checking on their tables. our main course took forever to come out which happens, but this kitchen was not backed up, and when we got our food it wasnt hot at all. I noticed my gnocchi was undercooked and had it sent back. I get my food back from a different waiter, and they go to clean up some of our glasses because again our waitress is no where to be found. and he clearly is stressed and moving fast. He knocks over a glass on to my friends meal, it breaks and shatters all over his food. Now he has to get that re- cooked, and mind you this has already taken so long and we are just ready for a check to leave at this point. We get the other food remade and the waitress brings back the food and says sorry about that, nothing else more to say. Doesnt comp anything from our bill, and that was it. Paid full price for some of the worst customer service I have ever had.
My husband and I went there tonight for our wedding anniversary. It was our first time here and we were NOT disappointed. We waited an hour (it WAS during the dinner rush) but it TOTALLY worth it. Our Waitress was so polite and friendly. We got all our food in great timing and everything tasted wonderful. My husbands steak practically melted in his mouth and my shrimp/lobster Alfredo was perfect. At the end of our meal we shared the cheesecake dessert (which was big enough to feed 4) and that was most definitely the most delicious cheesecake either one of us has ever eaten. The restaurant was clean, bathroom included. I would recommend this place to anyone. Only word of advice-come hungry.....and be prepared for leftovers because you are getting generous portions :)Thank you Luckys for an amazing anniversary dinner!
Service and food mediocre at best :(Arrived at 8 pm to the bar area ….counter dirty, ordered bottle of wine, no water served, wedge salad, no bacon only tomatoes. Mussels blah…no extra bread avail, kitchen staff enjoying the evening at the bar also?! Weird experience!
While the food is on point (and, more often than not, very plentiful), the taste and large portions just barely beat out the slow service. Dont get me wrong, everyone is very pleasant; theyre just very slow.Update:The service has definitely improved. Our server this afternoon was very attentive and amiable. Bumping from 2 to 4.
This place has poor management and has no regard for their customers. Been here three times now and each time has been a nightmare. The first time was for a dinner party where the staff was not tentative at all, cold food, and mixed up cook-to-order steaks. The second time the host was super rude and acted inconvenienced by having to seat us, to the point where she scoffed and rolled her eyes. The last time was recently for a dinner party where reservations were made and they booked too many parties and basically turned us away because they couldnt accommodate us, despite the reservation weeks prior. In shock this place can run a business like they do.
Absolutely terrible experience. We arrived shortly after 5:00p on a Sunday. The restaurant was not super busy, and we were seated in about 15 minutes. That was the highlight of the evening. After waiting for 15 minutes, I had to go back to the host stand to ask who our server was because we hadn’t seen anyone yet. Another 10 minutes goes by and our server finally arrived. She seemed disinterested in waiting on us. She took our drink order and we gave her our food order as well. Over the next 60 minutes, we had to beg for water and drink refills, but no food. When we asked her to check on our food, she disappeared for another 10 minutes only to return to say that one of our items wouldn’t be done for another 7 minutes. So, all of our other food was done and sitting under warmers?? We asked to speak to a manager. After 10 more minutes, still no food, and the manager never showed up. So we left money on the table to cover our drinks and salads and we left. If their kitchen was so short staffed, they should have stopped seating people. Everyone around us was experiencing the same long waits. They had plenty of wait staff but clearly not enough in the kitchen. Terrible experience
I really recommend anyone to have a awesome meal, without the high prices! The staff was amazing! I was greeted by a wonderful server, he made me laugh. The food was amazing! I never knew this place was even here. Let it be known you food critics come and check it out I really recommend it!
Always a amazing experience. The seasoned freshly baked bread to begin with a side of butter that melts on nicely. The steaks, sides and soups make this an incredibly filling meal. The steaks are cooked to perfection. And if not, quickly fixed. Decadent dining for those who love American food.
Last time I was there I ordered a medium steak and it came out beyond well and burnt. They slyly placed the burt side facing down in hopes that I wouldnt notice. Girlfriend also got a steak ordered medium that came out hockey puck style. Didnt send it back because thats not how I roll. Dont want spit or other additions made to the recipe. I worked in a kitchen once... I know what happens. Potatoes were ok I guess.
Ordered the salmon salad. Salad was great, but the salmon was undercooked and a bit slimy. But the cheesecake was disgusting! How do you mess up cheesecake? I get that its supposed to be homemade, but I could taste huge chunks of cream cheese. Tasted like Crisco. The service was good and they took it off the bill. Maybe it was just an off day. 🤷🙄
Went to visit and pick up my daughter from MSU for the Thanksgiving Holiday and wanted to treat her to a nice dinner. Restaurant was pretty busy for a Monday evening but service was top notch thanks to Morgan and the food was really good! I have spent much more on Dinner and drinks at Steakhouses and not had as good a meal! Great food, great service, great value…I will be back!
Terrible experience.Timeline;Seated at 5:15pmWaitress welcomes us and takes drink order at 5:30Drinks, bread and salad arrive shortly after that.No food at 6:00Still no food at 6:30Still no dinner at 7:00.Asked to speak to a manager at 7:00.Manager never showed by 7:15.Put $20 on the table to cover drinks and salad and then left.No urgency or care from staff or management that wed been forgotten about. Plenty of staff and all other tables around us ordered, ate, and left in that time frame.Terrible.
Had dinner there last night,(Nov 16). I asked for my burger meat to be medium, came to the table well done and the bun was burned black. The dressing on my wifes dressing/breading was also burned. The kitchen was slow when the restaurant was not yet busy. Our server was very attentive to our needs.
I am at Lucky’s right now and the host looked over me and another black couple who was waiting and set the white couple first. Not only did she set them first but she moved them from one table to another table and ignored that we were waiting. After we spoke with her she acted like she didn’t know that we were waiting to be seated. She said “Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t know you wanted a booth.” Diversity training would be beneficial for her.
Drive by Luckys almost every day but never stopped until today. Wish I would have stopped sooner! Really good food, first of all. Good atmosphere, good drinks & just overall very solid. Steak was good for sure. Fish tacos were very different from your normal fish tacos but excellent! They give you free bread, which was delicious. Just a nice vibe and a great choice in Okemos!
This was our first time eating at Luckys . We arrived at 5:30pm on aThursday night. It was starting to get busy but we were greeted and seated right away by the friendly host staff. Our server was Ellie. She was polite and nice throughout our entire experience. We started with the Dynamite Shrimp. I loved how the sauce was in the middle as not to sog out the crispy shrimp. We absolutely loved it. I got the surf n turf with lobser. I ordered md/rare and my filet was cooked perfect! I got a side of the spicy lobster sauce which complimented my meal perfectly. The bread they brought out in the beginning was fast and warm. All over great experience
If you would have asked me 3 months ago I would have probably given this place 5 stars. Pros - the food is pretty good. Cons - This last visit we felt like they were using cheaper ingredients like kraft swiss cheese instead of real swiss on our steak. Food always takes awhile to get, and the place is very loud. I feel like I am in a cafeteria due to the noise level instead of a slightly pricy steakhouse. Servers have always been great though.
Sadly this place is severely lacking in quality and service. I know our waitress was doing her best, but it’s clearly understaffed. We’re there for 2 hours and had horrible food, and were only checked on once for drinks. I’ve never had such a bad experience at a restaurant in my life. And charged full price. Won’t be coming back unfortunately.
I came in around dinnertime and ordered Surf and Turf aswell as the Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer. I was served Steak that was not cooked to my liking and a appetizer that was cold. And to make the experience even worse my server, Jasmine, was unwilling to help fix my experience due to a lack of effort and helpfulness. Very disappointed.
I have been to this restaurant one time before now and it was decent. Decided to get my order to go this time. Went to go eat the food and my key lime pie was in a puddle; crust all broken up. My boyfriends burger was missing condiments. The chicken on my salad was so dry I couldn’t even eat it. For paying almost $60 I was beyond disappointed.
Our server was terrible. We waited an hour to get our salads, while the table next to us were seated and received theirs in about 5 minutes. There were two different servers. My steak was a ribeye and it was DRY!!! I have never had a dry ribeye in my life. I am not sure how they even accomplished that. And it was cooked medium!?!?! We will not return.
First walking in you can barely stand because the entire dining floor was very wet and extremely slippery with what was used. One other gentleman was seated and no other customers were in the restaurant. We waited 20 minutes and were not even offered a water. Another customer comes in and the male waiter argues with the hostess that people were being sat in the wrong section. Still no service from the waiter. We get up to leave and slide to my butt back to my seat because the floor is still wet and like ice 20 minutes later. Other people walking in complain about it. The waiter did not care about the customer today. The hostess tried. Other staff lady didnt care about it either.
Service in Okemos was great, atmosphere nice but food- not impressed. Prime rib and augratin potatoes were both very bland, meat was also very fatty, although French onion soup was good. My husbands stuffed shrimp was not good at all. His meat also bland. German fries were ok.I ordered a to-go order of chicken parmesan. Had no taste and came with NO PASTA, just a few chunks of chicken with a little sauce on top. Very disappointed when we got home to eat it.
Okay usually i wouldn’t leave a review if i’m not completely satisfied but i like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this was a struggle!! when we walked in the hostesses were very nice and sat us right away. the menus had something on them that made them sticky and hard to hold and the table was far from clean. our server came and took our orders but didn’t bring us water for 15 minutes so i ended up ordering waters for my mom and me at the bar. he never commented on this. then our food came out and he asked me whether i had gotten my salad yet, which i had not, since we hadn’t seen him at all in 20 minutes. my mom asked for another napkin because she used hers to wipe the sticky table down and he brought 2 completely dirty and used napkins with gross stuff in them. i was honestly shocked. then he didn’t ever bring us our check and we were waiting so long that we asked someone else to check us out. he came over to the table and said he got distracted and we said okay and just left.
What happened? This place used to be really good but the service is now down right lousy. No plates were cleared from our table at any point. I was sharing a dessert with another person and there was literally no place on the table for another plate. The server could obviously see this as she left it on the only bare place on the table. I had to move some dirty plates to the empty table next to us. Not a polite thing to do in a restaurant I know but what do you do if there isn’t even enough room to set down a plate to eat off from? Server came back right after I did this and literally chewed me out saying that the table had been sanitized and that now she had to do it again. I asked her why she didn’t take any of our plates and she mumbled an expletive at me and at this point I said it back to her but did not mumble. Worst service that I have ever had at a nice restaurant in my life . Diners and coney islands that I have eaten in have better service. FYI- previous time eating here waited over fourty minutes for our food and it all came at once even the salads. Food was barely warm. Wrote it off as a fluke because some times things just happen we’re all humans right! Made the mistake of coming back hoping for better. It turned out to be a bad choice.
Dark. Crowded (didnt have to be). Took about 15 minutes or more to get our drink order taken. It was over another 45 minutes or more before we got our food (never brought out salads). The chicken in bland. Especially the chicken tenders. Other food was ok and thats the only reason for 3stars. Im not sure it is deserved but Im giving the covid bump.
The food is fantastic ! But it took over 1 hour to get our food after we got our appetizer. And I would give them a F for failure on how cold it was in there. I understand that the servers get warm . But thats no reason to Freeze the customers out. It felt like 58 ° in there.
If youre used to fine dining, dont go here. Multiple mistakes from the cooks. Fish that wasnt done. Steak not served the way it was ordered. Flavorless German fries AND overcooked. Takes forever to get served and overall poorly managed. Needs to be on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares and beg Gordon Ramsay for help. 💥
Where do I BEGIN.. we waited 40 minutes for four meals. However, a table of six sat down after us and recieved their food. Spoke to manager and she did absolutely nothing. When we finally recieved our meals, in horror the potatoes tasted like they were from a box, asparagus was limp and sour (never tasted that before, yuck), the bottom of the Maryland Chicken was as black as coal. However, the waitress was absolutely wonderful and spoke with my table and provided free dessert. Pretty sad dont know if I would honestly eat there again.
First off this restaurant was recommended by the lady at the front desk of the hotel we are staying at. Great carry out service, great food, and food done on time. We are from out of state and visiting. The food we ordered was awesome and big portions. Definitely recommend.
If I could give this a negative review I would. The service was absolutely terrible. We sat for over an hour waiting for our food. They got 2/5 orders wrong and it took just as long to get it fixed as it did to get it originally. By the time the fixed orders came everyone was done eating. I ordered a drink and the waitress forgot to put it in. I waited about a half hour for her to come back to the table and reminded her that I was missing a drink, and she said she forgot and would put the order in. About a half hour later the drink had still not arrived and she then blamed the bartender saying he was really backed up. She then took another half hour to come back so I could cancel the drink. During that time we had asked for a refill on a tea three times over an hour and never received one. After 2 hours the drink arrived after the waitress forgot to cancel it. Once we were finally tired of waiting we eventually got hold of a manager. We explained the situation very calmly and the manager had to send the waitress away to keep her from getting angry. Now typically I understand and give people the benefit of the doubt, mostly with COVID, but this was so unacceptable and unprofessional. Then we witnessed the waitress standing in a corner talking to someone where we could all see her pointing at our table and talking about us. This made us all very angry and was unacceptable behavior. The manager then took over a half hour to bring us the bill where they very generously comped our meal $15. The waitress would not come back over to the table at this point. At least four other tables put in a complaint because of this service. Will never come back and would definitely not recommend eating here. We spent a total of 2 1/2 hours with only 30 minutes of that time spent actually eating.Waitress: Mackenzie/KenzieManager: Jen
This place is surprisingly affordable for the atmosphere. The place feels like a fancy place, but the prices are not awful. 20$ for a delicious piece of prime rib is not bad at all, not to mention their bread is phenomenal!! Soft, warm, and fluffy... Its easy to fill up, but you need to save room, even their sandwiches are on point (I had the french dip, the horsey sauce on there.... Ugh... So good) definitely worth a visit!
The whole experience was amazing! Went on a Saturday so had a long wait for table but the check-in system worked great. They took my phone number and I was able to follow online the progress of our table. This gave us time to check in to our nearby hotel. Once seated, our server Justin took great care of us. Drinks were refilled promptly without even asking. At our table 3 different types of steaks were ordered, all cooked to perfect temp and taste. To the whole staff, thank you for a memorable night out with my family!
UPDATE: Tried reaching out to the Manager and the owners.... Absolutely NO RESPONSE!!One of the employees just said Oh Well, some people dont like our food. Sorry, nothing I can do.Are you serious???? How do you stay in business with that attitude????VERY disappointing with this place.Figured we would try this place instead of one of the other steakhouses. Upon calling they were very friendly and got me on the waiting list. We pulled in and as we were getting out of the car we got alert our table was ready. We got sat immediately. Then we sat there and sat there and sat there for 35 minutes before seeing a waitress. So she apologized for the waitress that was SUPPOSED to be our server. She then took our order. Another 37 minutes pass. We get our steaks and they are completely cooked wrong. For being an upscale steakhouse, you would think they know how to cook a steak. They offered to remake but im not going to sit and wait another 30 minutes and watch my family eat. Then they would have to sit and watch me eat. Thanks for spoiling our family dinner. My family got a nice meal... I get Taco Bell now... Thanks!!I will stick with Longhorn Steakhouse. They KNOW how to cook steak.UPDATE: just 30 to 40 minutes after we left, my wife became ill. And hasnt been able to leave the bathroom...
Before Pandemic this place was awesome. We have been 3 times since the Pandemic and it has been worse each time. Our server tonight was especially neglectful and our steak ordered medium rare was barely cooked. Better than over I guess. Someone in management needs to do better.
First time I went to lucky the rib eye was half fat. Waitress told me that the rib eyes came that way. I swor id never go again. Tried it one more time. Hostesses 4 of them told they didnt accept reservations for 6 and it would only be a few min wait. I asked them specifically about the wait time if it was over an hour. They said no. Only a few minutes. After a 50 wait we just left. Will never go back. Third time wont be a charm.
Never been there before. Walked in told me itd be a 45 minute wait. I said fine ask me for my name. I gave them my name. Then they asked me for my cell phone number. I said I didnt bring my cell phone. She goes we cant take your reservation then. I said you cant page me. she said no. So we left. Im curious to see if the owner of this business reads the reviews and answers them. I own a business every review comes to my personal email and I answer myself.
Great food, excellent waiter Matt we had multiple orders, some single some up to 5 people, he took all the orders everyone received the correct orders and he accommodated multiple requests with kindness and a great smile. Thank you for making our celebration a wonderful experience.
Cold steak and another char burnt. No seasoning or sauce on the meat.. Very inconsistent with making marqueritas. Left 2 drinks untouched. Very silly server, laughing at everything, not realizing it was immature. Would not return to this restaurant. Quite a waste of money.
Cant really tell you how the food is as I sit here and wait seen a party of eight get their food before us. Havent had the chance to get our food yet but have been here an hour without it. Maybe it is good maybe its not we might get the bill and split prior waitress started off good and ended in a downward spiral terrible terrible experience
Only the 3rd place to get a Blue steak correct!!! Which is even more rare then rare level. Wont post the photo as some might mistake this for a not cooked steak on a bad review. It was steak was great for the price point, and the lobster was okay, but for land locked area was not expecting premium.
Let me start out with the service price and food. 5 star all around. However the one star is because we walked in during a rain shower. My sister hit a wet spot in the floor fell down very hard. Other customers came over to help. She seems fine as of now. Mgmt never came over to check on her. But did have time to dry the floor and put up a Caution placard. We will never go back to this restaurant. Hopefully she is not really hurt.. its a shameful. This was our 8th or so time eating here. It was becoming one of our favorite places.. needles to say not anymore.
Nice atmosphere, upscale presentation without the high prices. Meals were excellent, good size portions. Carrot cake is very, very good. And the serving is enough for 3. Maybe 4. Outdoor patio area too. Social distancing and through cleaning of used tables was observed.
We was seated promptly which was nice as they looked busy from the parking lot. Got in seated and waited 15min and watched 5 waitresses walk right by our table. Having a menu in front of us waited to place our order or at least get our drinks. So we walked right out and told staff they can have there table back.
This restaurant was difficult to get into on a Saturday night before the pandemic. Today it was dead. Seems surreal and weird. The food was very good. My steak was cooked perfectly, as was my sons. The service was good. It felt good to eat out again with family. Luckys was a great choice for this! Things I noticed as asides. The menus are old and need to be replaced, difficult to read. The landscaping needs to be cleaned up, bushes are overgrown. But then again. This poor business has been running at reduced capacity and revenue for months.
First time I came here it was excellent. 2nd time it was ok. 3rd time both my husbands steak and my steak was not prepared correctly. No offer to fix it, just a sorry from the waitress and Ill tell the cook. Only reason I did do a two star is because the flowering onion was great along with the garlic string beans that came with the raw Filet Mignon.
I typically don’t write reviews but I have to. My family loves lucky’s we typically eat at the one in Fenton but have eaten at the lapeer and Clio locations as well and also been happy. Today we went the the okemos location. What a terrible idea. We waited for 1hr and 15min to get our food. I ordered a ribeye medium, it came out well done. My wife got a ribeye medium rare, came out rare. Ordered my son chicken tenders, fries, and Mac and cheese. Chicken tenders were burnt, so badly the waitress tried to pass it off as normal when it was brought out. The fries were so burnt that they broke in half like a popsicle stick, the Mac and cheese was cold. The manager came over an did make it right by giving us a gift card but honestly all I wanted was good food in a timely fashion. We will go back to a lucky’s location again but probably never this one. I just hope someone important at the restaurant reads this.
Wow, everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! Ordered the grilled chicken and Swiss sandwich with cheddar potato soup - my husband ordered the 22 oz ribeye and it was like taking a bite into heaven! Our waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive! Will definitely be back here!
Update: Went to Luckys for a second time. This time was such a different experience and NOT in a good way. The ribs were awful! We asked why the difference from last week to this week and were told a new guy made them. Very disappointing! Our server was pretty slow with drink refills too. This visit was such a let down. Not sure if we will return.Dinner started with yummy garlic bread. The combo appetizer was amazing and very reasonably priced. Carrot cake was delicious. Our server was awesome too. Definitely recommend this place. We were told a 45 minute wait but ended up only being 20 minutes.
We waited over an hour for our table which it being a Friday night at a new restaurant isnt that bad! Our meal (the bread is so good!) and server were great. Really enjoyed her - she did not miss a beat despite it being super busy. My only suggestion would be to re-evaluate the wine list. Not impressed.
Dinner on a Wednesday evening. We had an Excellent attentive server, the portions were generous, & everything was delicious. We had a table of 6, and all were 100% satisfied with the meals.....salmon, steak, grouper, perch, whitefish. Excellent salads and side dishes. If there is any complaint to be made, it would be the high noise level.....however that seems to be true of so many restaurants today.
This place is AWESOME!!! We went here for our Anniversary + this is now our favorite restaurant! Pedro, who was amazing + so sweet + accommodating to us was the best!! What a terrific server!! Our hostess was so kind + made our seating so special for our Anniversary. The food, oh man, was the best of the best!! We were so pleased with our dinners. My husband got the huge Porterhouse steak dinner + I got the Lobster + Filet. Those steaks melted in your mouth!! The flavors were so good in everything we ordered. We are totally hooked on Luckys. The cheesecake we took home was out of this world...seriously! There is nothing like Luckys New York cheesecake. Everything was 100% perfect!! Such a wonderful meal with excellent service. Thank you so much Luckys for making our Anniversary so very special!! A++++ Thank you too Pedro...youre the best!!
Im only giving it two stars because my friends enjoyed their food. Lets start off with the wait, we walk in and ask for a table for 3. We were in town with a friend from Maryland. We were told it was a 20 minute wait, no problem we give them our number and step outside to chat. 35 minutes later and after watching several parties walk in and get seated in front of us, i go in and ask for my table... lookie there its open. Long story short, my food sucked, the service is subpar and the only thing that would ever bring me back is... well nothing.
I saw mixed reviews about this place but have been wanting to try it and am glad I did. I was pleased with the value, flavor and how my Strip was cooked. The staff was friendly and prompt. The Okemos restaurant feels like the offspring of Outback and something upscale. Somehow it pulls it off. There was a mix of ball ballcaps and black ties but everyone seemed comfortable.
First time having dinner at Lucky’s. The atmosphere is nice. The service was terrible and the food was overpriced and bland. My brother’s steaks was over cooked and when re-prepared and then undercooked. The manager came over and not only did nothing about this was rude about it. Their version of the “blooming onion” is bland. The waitress forgot to put in an order and she did not come back to check on our food after it was served. The whole meal was a mess. For the kind of money my family and I spent at this place, I would rather eat somewhere else. Won’t go back again and will not recommended to anyone.
Made us wait 2 hours on Valentine’s Day. Around 9:00 took us off the waiting list. Told us they had no food left and the manager was extremely unapologetic. No compensation. She just said “it’s unfortunate” with a very “not my problem” attitude. We were only one of many parties turned away during that time.

2022-07-12We love to come to come for Happy Hour. The prices are great but the food is even better. We come right at 3 before it gets real busy. We love to sit in the outside patio because of covid. The cosmopolitans are very good. We really enjoy the flat breath pizzas. We also love the bread here. Its the best! The waitresses are always friendly.

2022-05-17The menu is actually pretty amazing. You can order steak and seafood. We also ordered crabcakes and they were delicious. A little salty but they were still delicious. Our service was absolutely amazing. My guest loved it.

2022-04-22This was our first visit to this restaurant and So we look forward to our dinner. Well Ill begin with the good things my wifes dinner was perfect it was hot And it was delicious it was the salmon New Orleans and my wife loved it. My dinner on the other hand came out cold and all the sides were cold. I had prime rib ordered medium rare and came out well done and cold...even the Sauteed onion and mushrooms were cold. Had the waitress take everything back... and within 10 minutes had a new dinner that was very good. The only problem being didnt get to eat dinner with wife. We talked to the managers about this and they took 20% off our bill and offered to give us a free dessert. If I were to eat here again I would make sure that I ordered dishes that take the same amount of time to prepare for their chef seems to be inexperienced and cannot get timing right for two separate dinners. The waitress staff was great so that was a plus.

2021-11-07The service was OK. She kept forgetting to bring things. The food was not OK. Id heard really good things about this place so I drove for an hour to go there for my birthday.Ordered a medium porterhouse, loaded baked potato and salad. Received a well done steak. Replaced with a rare steak. I didnt eat it. You just cant send it back twice right? My daughter ordered a shrimp and chicken pasta and I showed the server a black piece of chicken and she asked me what it was. My response... Exactly. The chicken was burned beyond recognition. My child literally spit it out and tried to eat around it. She threw it out when we left.We were seated immediately but it was over an hour before we received the meal.Very disappointed

2022-03-142 stars only because the wait staff seemed like they are trying hard. Ordered a well done NY strip. Swimming in grease and water, grainy and dry. either they pre cooked or they gave me a sirloin. Mashed potatoes had that hard outer crust on them like they were sitting under lamp for too long and bitter like the cream and turned. Couldnt eat. Instead of trying to make it right they just took food away and didnt charge me. Didnt even care about what was wrong with food. Steak shouldnt be grey and swimming in grease

2022-02-14Geesh where do I start 🥴Birthday dinner party of 10.- Got to the restaurant for our reservation on time 3:30- didnt get served until after 5:30.- when we ordered, we let them know we had a mushroom allergy in the party. They sent out our guests salad WITH mushrooms and then brought the entree with a boat of mushrooms as a side- the staff was nice nasty although we were super patient and we even apologized for their issues.2 of us ordered the same dish and had rhe same exact issue. As you can see in the first picture the dish was oily. This is supposed to be a salmon and seafood dish with a Lobster cream sauce. The salmon was almost a jerky is was so over done and almost tasted old!!! The refire you can tell was fresh and looked completely different. Unfortunately, the scallops were RAW.-Someone else ordered a steak to be medium, came out well and the waitress was rude when he pointed it out. There was hair in our butter and food on our plates. The manager took the 2 salmon dishes off our check and offered us dessert. She was excellent. The food had the potential to be amazing as well. We still tipped the waitress well and told her to have a great night inspit of all of the issues that were going on. She literally thanked us for not being jerks lol.I may not be back. If we go, it will not be anytime soon. The last time we were there in December for my birthday staff quit and silverware and plates had hunks of food on them.

2022-04-28Have to say this place surprised me. The prices are excellent. I got a great piece of prime rib, 24 ounces for $25.99. My wife got 4 lamb chops for the same price. Stuffed mushrooms that were some of the best Ive had and they were huge. Very clean, great waitress named Kylie. Food was served in good time. Good size menu with a lot of choices. Will definitely eat here again.

2022-03-04We had a great time here with 2 other couples. Service was a little slow, took awhile to get our bar drinks. 2 of us ordered the 22oz ribeye. Ours was ordered rare and it was definitely rare, but my husband loved it. Fries and salads were very good! Bar drinks were 👌🏼 as well. Had a bite of the Maryland chicken and it was very good! We liked the atmosphere and the restaurant was clean. Was told it would be a 20 minute wait to be seated but ended up being less then 10. Will definitely be back!

2021-06-09The place is a bit more upscale but no minimum attire. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The food was really good as the group I went with ordered a variety of things. I ordered the blue cheese burger which was really good. The meat was not dry and the bun was really good. The salads that were ordered looked amazing! They said they were really good, which will be my next dish. The prices were very reasonable as my meal was only ~$10. I would definitely give this place a try. I might see you there. 😉
