Macys in other cities:
I needed to find a specialty bra for my wedding dress and came here. They had a pretty good selection of specialty lingerie and I found two bras that will work. I could not find a slip but fair enough, no one really uses those anymore. Plenty of parking but its difficult to see the shopping center from the road.
I HATE THIS STORE!!!! SO MUCH THAT I CANT STAY OUT OF IT!! I always go in for 1 thing and end up walking out. With BAGS of stuff that I dont need but cant do without...Like SHOES(size 11) cute clothes, household goods and lets not forget BACKSTAGE(upstairs) all around savings at this store.
We shop there as little as possible. The store was clean, the people are nice but there is always perfume in the air that drives us out. I have never known anybody to say I will not shop there because they do not but perfume in the air, but I do know people with allergies that avoid stores because the store is perfumeagated. Odor free could increase sales. I would like to see brick and mortar and store succeed but they are push out some people that they do not have to.
This store used to be a higher end store. It had clean bathrooms, it had fresh new clothes that you couldnt find anywhere else. But it has gone completely downhill. The bathrooms are disgusting, the dressing rooms are so dirty and gross that you dont even want to try clothes on not to mention the fact that You couldnt find an actual employee to save your life. The people who are there are overworked. They dont even Acknowledge you. They also changed the entire layout of the store. they even changed the shoe department, all the shoes are on in boxes out on the floor so now it looks like a Sears. bye bye Macys.
Sam is AMAZING!!!!My sister is getting married and my family told me to get clothing from Macys. I said ok.I walked in and was trying to guess what to get. A gentleman came up to me and introduced himself as Sam. I explained I was here for a suit. He look for about 2 seconds and was able to put me in the perfect size blazer! I asked him to take a picture and he was more than happy to help!I bought two, just to be sure and he told me that I could return whichever one the women dont like and he said that with a knowing smile.Over the next week, I came back and forth between Macys and wedding HQ more times that I can count. Each time, Sam was there, remembered me, and was happy to help and always friendly and understanding. He also helped me with dress pants, and a dress belt. He was incredibly patient as I had to explain to my family over the phone and relay information to him about what they wanted. He made a great comment about how I was being very respectful about said wedding and joked that, while I admitted I dont own much dress clothes (dont really need to), he hopes that Ill come back and shop more and to see me again in the future. He gave an incredible personal and friendly touch while still being very professional. He and absolutely made my shipping experience better than I couldve asked for and Im already recommending friends (also getting married) to go to Macys and to talk to Sam.Thank you Sam!
Probably one of the oldest feeling Macys Ive been too. Nothing seemed in style. The shoe section made me feel like I was in a kohls or walmart. Just overall, wasnt impressed by anything in the store. The did have a mac section which I always like. The purse section was nothing special either.
Its very hard to get assistance most of the time. they dontve a fitting Rm.available in the Womens dept. weve to walk a long way to find one! which , of course, is inconvenient for senior citizens! Especially if Uve a DISABILITY PROBLEM! They need to open 1 up immediately!!!
The sales lady in the mattresses department is very rude. She came off as very jealous and had an attitude. She cut me off when I was explaining what kind of mattresse I wanted but she cut me off and turned to my husband and proceded the conversation with him.I didnt get her name but she was short and wide.
Their curbside service is a joke. The lady literally hung up on me so I had to come in and wait in a 20-minute line to get my order. Macys is just falling apart all the way around. You cant even place a phone order without a Macys credit card. What kind of Monopoly is this?
Cosmetic sales women at the Clinique counter are pushy. They wouldnt except a return and told me to try it for another week. I dont use mascara every day of the week. Im 70 years old. Didnt want it in the 1st place. I asked for body lotion, the sales person said that I didnt want that and then insisted on the body cream. They were extremely disrespectful as to what I was wanted to purchase. I should have walked out. I will never shop at Macys again and Clinique lost me as a customer.
This is not a review of this particular store but of Macys policies overall. I purchased shoes and got a discount with my new Macys card. Less than 2 weeks later, I realized the shoes were too small so I exchanged them for a bigger size. Lo and behold, I was charged extra for this exchange simply because I did not make the exchange within 1 day of opening the Macys card. So I lost the Macys card discount and if I hadnt checked my statement balance, I would never have known. The Macys store associate did not alert me to this issue and let me know that I would not be charged extra and the exchange would be net neutral. But it was not.
Macys now has a friends and family deal. You can get select discounts on items that qualify. Isnt it nice that the place we already went to for clothing, bedding and household appliances, among other things, now gives you special pricing on the things you need and 💘 love. I will be shopping Macys for the rest of my life and I recommend anyone who wants high quality fashion and high line kitchen appliances shops there as well.
Came in close to closing, so teen daughter could purchase a watch for her boyfriend. Needless to say, she took a llllonng time making her choice. The sales associate was amazing, sweet, patient and making helpful suggestions through the whole process. This is real customer service, thank you Lainey, so much for your kindness in making my daughter feel like a valued guest ❤️☺️
I love the employees and the products!!! There always in stalk and the employees always ask if u need help or give you tips on what you should by for gifts and for yourself. They also give u tips on how to save or tell you when the next sale is coming or what they recommend by heart. Love Ann Arbor Macy’s❤️❤️❤️
Love that Macys is an anchor store in Briarwood. However, the inventory is less and less designer or high end for women, which I understand is probably based on demographics and buying patterns. If youre looking for casual, business wear, and more affordable items, then youll have plenty of selections.Safety protocols in place and felt safe shopping in store.
Good store with huge collection.convenient location, enough parking lots. polite staff members make the experience better. Mostly offers are there to get you good quality branded products with discount. Even better with macy card. I bought couple of dresses coats and they were really good deal.
Dont bother shopping turn around and move your way towards JCPenney or Kohls or youre able to stack coupons on top of things on sale already if your item is already on a special you cant use your coupons unless youre different color of the credit card rainbow bronze or above, good luck
Macys online is awful. There is no way to talk to a store employee about an order. I placed an order and it came broken and through the chat I got a return label to exchange the item for a new one. I sent the broken item back and through UPS tracking the package arrived at its destination. When I contacted Macys.com to check the shipping status of the new item they said my package hadnt arrived. Now what?! Now Im without a Christmas present for my husband and also out the money and theres no one to contact. Do not order from Macys.com!
The store itself is usually pretty messy. I dont always shop here but I feel like I dont usually find much that I like. I did buy a suit here once, and that experience was pretty good, the suit guys were really knowledgeable and friendly. The Cafe upstairs is probably the best part, they actually have pretty good food and the staff is really friendly.
Customer service is severely lacking. If I had another option to shop at I would have, but unfortunately I had to experience the rude, retail worker who wanted me to leave in the men’s shoe department. He told me I have 5 minutes left before closing, even though I was well aware of the time (which was 8:45). I never feel compelled to write reviews, but the attitude and disrespect towards me as a customer leaves me no choice. Will not return to this location.
Very large store with top brand names. Over the Christmas season, I received a gift that I needed to exchange for a larger size. When I arrived at the store. I was greeted by a worker who brought me over to a counter, where I was politely asked How can I helpBefore I knew it I was in and out in a flash and enjoying the rest of my day 😊Great place to shop, I hope this helps you guys!!!
I really like shopping at Macys. Especially when they have a big sale on their shoes you cant beat the price. The shoes are very durable and name brand. I brought four pair of shoes and boots from Macys. I am very pleased they ship it to you in one to three business days. If you want you can have it shipped to the store and it does not cost any Thang. Four stars
Quality consistently goes down but prices stay up. The coupons sent in the mail have so many exclusions that the dont work on a lot of the items I want to purchase. Have had bad luck with comforter sets. They bleed in the wash and snag easily. Most fabrics are synthetic and dont wear well and snag especially with accessories. Purchased new stoneware and it chips. Overall disappointed with Macys.
Ive had mixed experiences at this Macys. My most recent visit, I was almost signed up for a credit card without even being told. I was going to purchase a perfume, ended up not buying it, I bought some face masks instead. The woman at the counter told me I should really buy the perfume, its very popular, etc. She said that she had a way I could have 25% off if I give my email to Macys. Then she asked for my drivers license, turned around and said and then if youre approved you can have the discount... and I asked her what is she even trying to offer me? She said a Macys credit card. Um... no? She didnt once mention that she would sign me up for a store credit card until that moment. I know companies require employees to make sales but...come on.(I didnt give her my license or anything, but I can see how someone might think they were getting a discount, and were signed up for a credit card, credit score pulled, etc.)
I have had the worst experience. CHEATING US out of $130 with no product receive and no management help. Didnt receive our delivery, were offered a refund we didnt receive, and customer service wouldnt let us speak to a manager until we hung up and got a different rep.My husband and I had a couple gift cards from returns, used them to buy climbing shoes. We tracked their shipment and watched they came all the way to Michigan and then turned around and went back to the warehouse. We called to see what was going on and they said there was an unexplained issue with UPS and they couldnt get them to us so they would mail us a gift card for that amount. For some reason they couldnt just ship out another order with the same shoes in the same size. The reps were unhelpful and literally would NOT let us talk to a manager until we hung up and called another rep and demanded. The manager was rude and no help. So they said they would mail us a gift card and email us the receipt so we would have proof. Never got the email receipt. 2 days later we get a letter saying that they cant give us the receipt because the delivery service confirmed that the product was delivered even though we received no package AND everyone in customer service confirmed the product was sent back to them.So now we are literally out $130 and still having to deal with customer service who dont know how to think outside the box.
So tried of their stupid coupons that never work for anything were buying. The people there get 5 stars but not the corporation Macys. Zero for them. Forget issuing coupons and just give us a good price. Everyone would be much happier and probably shop there more. Coupons in the mail coupons in the paper theyre not going to work for us ever it seams.
There was a district visit for Holiday set up today and after passing them at least three times not one in the group acknowledged my presence. Not even the ones who were probably flown out gave me at least a smile and nod. One would think that on a corporate walk they would be on a higher alert for customers. Completely unacceptable. I guess Hudsons is truly dead.
Most wares at Macys are very expensive; however, their furniture is priced slightly expensive, but if you can wait for it to go on sell, youll get a great deal. The quality of Macys furniture is outstanding and long lasting - the lasting/longevity to pass their furniture down to your kids as they become adults. Macys furniture Id rate it at five stars!
Macys, both at Briarwood and all their other locations, has always left me irritated.First, the organization of their merchandise is miserable... There doesnt seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. Perhaps they organize by designer, but that is far from useful when you are simply looking for a sweater or pair of pants. But this is the least of it...They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced while shopping. There are rarely any sales associates around and, if by some off chance you do find one, they have absolutely no idea how to help you. You spend more time wandering around the store trying to find someone than you do actually shopping. The last time I was there, I was shopping for a pair of heels for work. The young man who went to get the size I needed from the back disappeared for about 20 minutes... And when I went up to the counter to ask about the shoes (and the missing sales associate), I received a snarky response from the girl working there. I wish I could say I had been rude to her, but I was surprisingly patient that day. Regardless, I left without the shoes and immediately went elsewhere to find them.If you MUST shop here, just do it online... Save yourself the headache!
Operation Elf was a Christmas Eve success. Shout out to Jessica @ Dior, Ken @ shoes, & Beverly @ luggage! Ran in Macys at 3:30 with a list I had no idea where to find the items. These 3 were prompt and cheerful and really helped save the day. Its 4:22 and Im already on my way to deliver the presents!
Looks like they stock the clothing racks using a cannon. Severely disorganized, outdated, and understaffed. Its like a bigger TJ-Maxx, but with Nordstrom prices. On a positive note, the bathrooms always have vacancy... Sadly, it appears that Macys has thrown in the towel and reserved its final resting place in the mall graveyard, next to Sears and Brookstone.
Bought a Purple mattress with the understanding that it would be delivered by June 23rd so we could take it to our cottage for our annual 4th of July vacation. Specifically discussed that request with the Macy’s rep at the store and was told we were all set. The next day I noticed online that there was no delivery date set. So I called customer service to see what was going on and they said there was a mistake and no delivery was scheduled but they could fix it. They claimed to do that and said that I was all set. Today I called because I hadn’t heard anything and was told that the mattress was backordered and that we wouldn’t get it until after July 8th...after we get home from vacation. Really wanted by our trip and now that’s not possible. Wish they would have told me this at the beginning and I would have just purchased it directly from Purple. No more big items from Macy’s ever again.
What can I say I like shopping at Macys but for a high-end department store Im really turned off by their 30-day only return policy. At Kohls and JC Penneys you can return things anytime during the year you can have something thats 8 months old as long as its got the tags on it and you have the receipt and its never been worn you can return it. I tried to returned a dress one day past the 30 day return policy and they wouldnt take it back and I had the receipt. If it wasnt for their return policy I would given them a four or five star. But their return policy is a big turn-off for me. I buy clothes for my granddaughter on clearance at Kohls at the end of summer for the next summer and when it gets closer to the next summer if theyre still too big for her or shes outgrown them before the next summer, I can still take them back , Kohls has a 12-month return policy as long as I have the receipt. Macys 30 day return policy is just not a very good return policy for a high-end store.
No sales people available, slow checkout process when you find one. Misleading signage prominently stating Nike apparel was 40% off, until you get to the register and find out, not tru for the hoodie you picked up. $70 for a hoodie that can be had elsewhere for less.
Went today at Macys briarwood, Ann Arbor. Was great experience sales associate in shoes department asked us if we need a help then show us the pretty useful remodel and how neat and organized the shoes department then we went upstairs Mary helped us at men department to find what we need with smile and polite nice attitude, Linda was helping other customers . Thanks Macys,I love you
Love the selection of clothes and shoes. The clerks macys are super helpful. Definitely a place to go. Wish their salon wasnt burried in the back corner of the store. The bathrooms are easier to find. Speakibg of the bathrooms they are so clean. A rarity at briarwood mall
So unorganized clothes everywhere. Bathroom looked like it hadnt been cleaned in weeks and on top of all the the customer service was disgusting. Lady in shoes mocked us for asking simple questions such as if they can order shoes from another store. How disappointing, go ANYWHERE but Macys
Went to mens wear to purchase a suit for my husband. How I wish I had gotten the name of the woman working. She was rude and dismissive. Tried to sell us a suit to small just to sell us something. We went to Mon Vaur and purchased a beautiful suit. Lesson, dont treat people rudely.
Awhile back I went to Macys at briarwood mall it by my work so its convenient. I ran in on my lunch looking for a dress ended up finding a outfit in clearance and a purse also in clearance. I seen a older gentleman not sure what race but he was behind the womens cologne counter I asked could he check me out there he said yes no problem. So I put my stuff up there he looks at then ask me to go another register with him I didnt think much of it so I followed him to the one in womens and he proceeds to talk to the cashier there whispering. I stood I. Line waiting my turn I get up there she then looks st me and said all the stuff was marked wrong someone hanged all the tags. I was horrible embarrassed they was customers behind me and I felt as I had done wrong. I tried to explain where I found everything but she kept insisting that I did that. I told her I am not asking for the outfit for the price thats on it if they are mis tagged I would never do that. So I left with nothing went to von maur and spent $200 on a better quality outfit and a dress. I am a manager in retail myself and I would never nor would I allow any of my associates to treat someone with such disrespect. I have been back because I love Macys but only to be followed around bySecurity. You wonder why so many Macys are closing.
The mens department for suits is exceptional, they are the best. Went there on a Thursday afternoon and even when there were quite a few people there, a kind gentlemen and another lady helped me out. The prices on some suits are actually lower than what is posted online! I drove 45 minutes out of the way to come here, past 2 other macys, and Im glad I did. I will be coming here again defintely.
I am writing this review as I sit on hold with Macys online customer service department. So far on hold for 1 hour 10 minutes waiting for a supervisor to make a change to my shipping address. All other agents only repeat that it is outside the 30 minute window and nothing can be done. I ordered a box of candy to be shipped to my mother for Mothers Day. I entered in her address in the shipping section hit enter. When I received my confirmation email it had my home address. We live in different states. I am requesting an address change or cancel the order. It is scheduled to ship two days from now and I am being told there is only 30 minutes after an order is placed to make changes. I missed the window by 1 hour. As we all know Macys doesnt care about this type of customer service. They make their money anyway.
I went in for a new suit. Found a few that i like and decided on one. Took the suit home and dropped it off at the cleaners for a nice crisp look. The cleaners called and there was a hole on the sleeve i did not notice. I then called macys and got lucky they had the same size still. This was on a monday. The rep said we can not hold the coat till Wednesday initially but then understood the situation and agreed to save it.
I bought an Armani Jacket for my brother at a different Macys for christmas and I am a student at Umich so I hadnt been home in a while and I didnt realize that my brother had lost soo much weight, so I decided to return it because it wasnt the correct size so I went to this Macys with the receipt and everything and their so-called manager accused me of wearing the jacket. How could you talk to your customers like that? You can clearly see that I wouldnt be able to wear a large! Dont go to this place unless you want to get disrespected and humiliated. No wonder people use Amazon for everything nowadays. I ended up returning the jacket and getting a different size at the Macys in Shelby township.
Normally I have awesome service here however, today I went to get links on a watch I received as a gift removed and the lady was rude. First Id like to start by saying I dont wear watches but not for a specific reason, I was just never into them. When I got to Macys I was thinking about possibly exchanging it for the same price. I asked the lady (I dont remember her name but she had a thick foreign accent) to show me the watches that were the same price. She told me Id have to point the ones I like out and she will look. Now, why cant she just look at the prices that are displaying in her direction? I brushed that off and she began to pick out watches (that were way over the price of this watch) and later made a comment, maybe you can come back when you make more money. I was livid and didnt know how to react. Honestly, Id never spend $150+ on a watch, so all that didnt matter to me. The only reason I didnt cross the counter is because their were families with kids around and I didnt want to be in nobodies news or social media feeds. I was so pissed that I just ended up getting my links removed. (I mentioned to her in the beginning this was my first watch) she gets an attitude and tells me to put the watch on..how else can she tell what one(s) to remove. At this point Im over her service and tell a manager. I was very disappointed and will be back to talk to HR.
The woman who guilted me into a makeover, constantly commented on how sick I look because of cancer. She got too personal and I am still so upset at her callous attitude. Very judgemental with my lack of makeup knowledge. Then basically bullied me into purchasing something I didnt want and couldnt afford. I literally told her I had no job because of cancer. So any makeup lovers...avoid shiseido.
I use the handicap parking, so I parked close to the entrance but Macys closes like 1 hour before the mall does, so I couldnt get back into the store to get to the parking lot and had to walk around the outside of the building. Macys should make it clear that this could happen...
Ok so why did I take my items to the counter and the person at the counter says she cant ring me up because I might want to go somewhere else because what did she say , it may not give me the discount prices, now mind you she has not even touch these items they are in my hand she just looked at me look at the items that I had and assumed they were discounted... I left them at the store
I called over 5 times just now and every extension I was on hold for never answered the phone. An establishment of this caliper should at least be able to answer the phone; not have me speak to an operator for 10 minutes and tell me this extension is not available at the moment. Its just sad.
Although the store does carry tons of clothing, etc, it does not have a dedicated and kind staff team, every time I visit this store, there are two registers open when there are at least 200 people trying to buy things. This problem really needs immediate fixing. I would NOT visit this store and I advise others not to aswell.
The worst costumer service, I went there one time thing to return some close that didnt fit right, and the there were two ladies, they were extremely rude as if I was doing something wrong, they were also mean to the lady next to me in line, and called up the manager cause they couldnt return what she has, overall extremely unhelpful staff, they dont show you were the stuff are when you ask, i hope macs does something about this, cause i like the stuff in the store, however the ladies in there are unbearable

2021-11-27A store full of variety of brands and amazing deals. This place always surprise you owing to friendly staff and quality of clothing (Men, Women & Kids) , wallets, perfumes, jewelry, watches and much more, at very good prices. One of the best store to start with shopping in Ann Arbor, due to assortment of brands with steal deals!!

2022-05-05The new store manger has really brought the morale down, his breaths stinks, his since of style is terrible and the poor Macys employees look so uncomfortable when he is around to “watch over”. Great place to find fabulous deals like the drive is very much worth it. Andrew the Manger is outstanding and Ms.Angela also a manger is such beautiful spirit I walk around just to say goodbye before I leave. But Ed the Manger breath really needs a tick tack or wear his mask so customers don’t have to smell the terrible leftovers he had for lunch.🤢🤮

2022-04-12Nice clean store with a dedicated entrance from the outside. Comes in handy when the mall closes at 8pm and Macys is open until 9. Good spot to find clothing for us or our kids. Of course, the escalator rides are a highlight for our little ones.

2022-05-20I placed an order online for mothers day. I placed the order on May 3rd. The order was never received. I have call several times and have spoken with a different person each time. I trying to get a refund for some shoe that were ordered but never received. I spoke to Sebastian and he was absolutely no help. I spoke to Phylicia and she was wonderful. She fully explained the process. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. Evelyn and got disconnected. It is so hard to speak with a supervisor. Macy is the worst. How hard is it to get a refund and to speak to someone who knows what they are doing.

2022-02-20Is this store going to keep up with times? Mens department is smaller, less choices...better off at other stores to buy mens clothes. The dual toy area is weird, and some of the home goods sections are not what I would expect. Left to look for clothing for an upcoming trip from JCP and Kohls.

2022-07-15We had sales people, Im guessing 4 coming up and asking if we needed help. Many cashiers were open and the store was spotless. It was about 88 degrees out, but Macys had on the air, nice and cool.I had just came from another major store in that mall and it was HORRIBLE. Smelt bad, dirty and 1 cashier for the entire 1st floor!I will go to Macys FIRST now. Even if I might pay a bit more, at least it will be a pleasure shopping again!!

2022-06-12Stopped in to make a return. The wait was long and the line grew while a single person handled customer service. The worker had a very complex return in front of us. They should be able to call for backup help, especially as the line was growing on a weekend day. So disappointed on how far Macy’s customer service has fallen behind.

2022-05-21Not my favorite Macys. There are other Macys in other locations which cater to all my needs but not this store. Good for basics, casuals, seasonal but not for party wear, occasional outfits.
