I had given up on this McDonalds a few years back and thought Id give it another shot, but its still unreliable. I went today, got to the front of the line about an hour ago and waited for 15 minutes for no one to say hi. If you cant even be bothered to say hi to someone, how can I trust you with making a meal?
They dont really have an interest in making your experience positive or working fast. They are understaffed it seems, but in addition it also appears the staff has no driving factor to work harder or faster. I wonder if I sit down restaurant would actually be faster. Lol
My son has a shop up the street.. I dont mind the dining room not being open, fact is I hate fast food. I just help his customers. I understand there is a shortage on employees, what I dont understand is why the lobby isnt open for take-out or why is the smoothie machine ALWAYS BROKEN???
I just waited 20 mins in Mc Donald’s drive through on Southfield Rd only to go to the window and a young lady told me they were short staffed and closed. The line was out to Southfield Rd. I called in and a guy answered the phone and said his name was “Antonio” and stated they were open. I explained to him someone just sent me away along with other people and he said no they didn’t. I pulled back up while still on the phone with ‘Antonio” and a different young lady took my order. Now I see atleast 5 employees! They still didn’t get my order right and clearly it was funny to them. Not a good look for this area at all.
Sat in line for the drive thru for ten minutes. Got to the speaker, after a couple minutes someone says hold on a minute. After fifteen or so minutes with no response I left and went to the McDonalds on Greenfield road and was in and out with hot food in less than five with more customers ahead of me than the Southfield road location. Will never go to the Southfield road location again.
The woman who took my order yelled at me when I wanted to add an item to my order. When I got to the window she inserted my card to the machine without handing me the machine,I advised her that the chip of my credit card is protected by a password and she has to tab it!She ignored me and inserted my card again.I asked her again to not insert my card because by the third attempt my card would been blocked (this is a Canadian credit card)Then she started yelling at me because she was not talking to me and she said I could only talk if I was spoken to.I called them to speak with her manager! The supposedly manager kept saying that he is going to fire her in a mockingly manner! They were laughing on the other side of the line.
Waited in the drive through line thirty minutes, placed order, rude lady came to the first window opened it and walked away, so I proceeded to the second window . Young lady said $8.99.rude lady from the first window said I told you to wait, she didnt say anything, first of all you dont tell me anything, you ask me or anyone.
Ordered and when recieced food it was missing a fry. We had ordered it and the guy deleted it and didnt charge us when we pulled around to pay. He then continued to tell us no we were wrong and would have to pull back around. We waited 15 minutes in line for this. I wouldnt recommend this McDonalds because they obviously dont care about their customers.
I usually don’t like coming here, but it’s convenient for my Sunday schedule. Today they did everything great, and everything right. The food was fresh and hot. Service right on point. Can’t tell you how refreshing it is to get this kind of service again. I know it’s hard to find workers these days for fast food restaurants, but today knocked it out the box. Great job to a great team.
So, we did eventually get our food...but we had to wait for about 20 minutes. Which, in my humble opinion, disqualifies this from being fast food.My best guess is that they were short-staffed... it felt like there was only one person inside taking orders and flipping the burgers, but this was 12:20 lunch rush so if thats all hands on deck then this McDonalds has, like, four hands max.Maybe this one was on me since there was a Burger King I passed on the way, and they, per usual, had next to no one in their drive-through... Maybe its time that changed.Once we got our food the person we met didnt greet us or say anything about the wait or our patience or the order or the time of day...no eye contact either...but we did get our food.Maybe this is what the non-personal, corporate capitalism future will be like?Everyone driving to the nearest McDonalds in their autopilot Google car to pick up perfectly made reheated food made by a machine inside...no real connection, no artistry, no humans, only the bottom line of the budget.At least at that point we will get our fast food faster, right?Right???
Placed a mobile order and had to go in the drive-through line to pick up the order because they were so short staffed. During the 45 minutes I sat in line waiting to reach the speaker for my order, one of the employees walks out the back door, goes to the liquor store next door, and downs a mini bottle of Smirnoff as he walked back… At that point I wasn’t waiting any longer and I definitely did not want a drunk man handling my food. I wish I could give negative stars on this review. Absolutely horrible. Drive 5 minutes down the road to Woodward and you will meet happy employees that are NOT drunk…
Worst McDonalds in area. Slow, slow,slow. New managers needed.Update 11/7/18 No improvement.Update 6/30/20 still crummy and slow.Update 6/16/21 no improvement. Slow and accurate and they often dont type orders up on the screenUpdate 6/16/22 many visits later and still bad. Was told just now system is down no hello, no greeting, no apology. Its as if its my problem they cant function.
I don’t expect much as it is from fast food, so the bar’s already pretty low.. but here, there’s always an over annoyed and impatient voice waiting to take your order. Especially at 1029, right after you sat in line for thirty mins waiting to order to be told you can’t even get a sad bowl of oatmeal, which is an all day item anyway. But no, not at this location because the drive through employees make the rules at this specific location. I was even offered unsolicited counsel from the employee, addressing my dissatisfaction. It’s unique, in a way you really don’t hope for. Thank god there’s many other options to choose from nearby.
Drove up for coffee at 6:20am. No one answered intercom. Drove around to side, knocked on window. Woman apologizes and says she was looking for batteries for the headset. No problem. Then she said she isn’t open yet. I said “well great news. I only want coffee”. I could see a full coffee pot. I even pointed at it. She said “oh, our registers aren’t up yet either.” She did not offer for me to wait for her to get the register set up. This location never fails to fail.
They would only accept cash. Shakes slushies and all other forms of dessert were unavailable. The employees working the windows and the order fulfillment stations were unprofessional and careless. The order was wrong. This is not the 1st time Ive had terrible service like this. At this location bad service is normal and it seems to go unchecked. Change ownership. Change management. Change something. Customers deserve better.
What ever happened to fast food?Sat at the speaker for 3 minutes. No greeting at all. Said hello multiple times, nothing. All the while I could hear people muttering in the background. At the same time, the line is literally out in the street blocking traffic.Finally I get a response which is nearly inaudible because either the worker is talking very quiet or the speaker is quiet. Took another 6 minutes before I finally got my food.Only reason I waste my time with these places is because its supposed to be fast, yet Im spending my whole lunch break waiting in line.
Worst McDonalds. Rude and slow service when their systems arent down... consistently out of products i.e. shake mix, buffalo sause for the chicken sandwich. Absolutely rude and ghetto workers.*update as of 5Aug22.I reluctantly came to this McDonalds knowing the horrible history Ive had here. But my son needed to eat and I was in the area. At 4:30 in the afternoon they were closed due to no staff. They should shut this place down already and be done with it. Worst McDonalds EVER!!!
This has to be the slowest McDonald’s I have ever been to. I use to work in fast food for a long time, so I know how they are expected to perform. I always thought this McDonald’s was pretty slow, but this time I timed all the cars going through the drive through. I timed only at the pick-up window not the entire line, and not a single car made it away from the Pickup window in under 90 seconds. Most of them took 2-4 minutes at this one spot. This isn’t including the line, ordering, and paying.
I wish I could blame the POOR and PATHETIC customer service on the COVID 19 Pandemic and lack of staff but I can not because this started long before 2020. This location by far is the worst. The employees open and close anytime they feel like it. They purposely BREAK THE CREDIT/DEBIT machines on weekly basis. and say “CASH ONLY” forcing many to pull off as many people do not carry cash on them. I know this is being done because a relative of mine worked there recently. Did I forget mention how RUDE the staff is? Did I forget to tell you to make sure to check your bag before you leave? There is a 50% chance you will be missing something from your order but if you make the mistake and get home before you discover your order is incorrect….plan on driving back because NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. I live so close by and my 2 kids love Mcdonalds but after today I will drive a couple of extra miles to the other McDonald’s location. The Southfield Rd location needs to close. Period!
WORST SERVICE EVER, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, RUDE AND LOOOOONG UNNECESSARY WAIT. In total I believe I waited about 35 minutes, literally for an Uber eats order that they should’ve handed to meI was here to pick up an uber eats order - the lady just continually shook her head when I was at the door, and then when I called the store explaining I was here for Uber eats they made me wait in line for drivethru anyway even tho they knew that I wasn’t ordering. Then when it was finally my turn I waited for like a minute with no response, then said “hello?” And very annoyed the lady said, “please wait, thank you for your patience.”I proceeded to wait for at least 10min.Finally, as I literally couldn’t see cars in front of me anymore, they are dealt with almost all the orders in front of me, and I was holding up the drive-through line, I said into the silence of the speaker, once again, “I am with Uber eats I’m here to pick up an order for *******” Then and only then was there a response of what’s the order number? I recited the five numbers even though I had already said the name for the order, and she still wouldn’t let me go but asked for the last three numbers. Which anyone in a brain would’ve heard as I stated the five numbers, so obviously I also stated the last three numbers in the five number sequence. However I humored her and stated the last three numbers. Then and only then did she let me pull around.And I still had to wait in line for the remaining few orders, they never allowed me to park.I wish I could give negative stars!!!
As a large number of black people have high blood pressure as I do. When I order out I ask for no salt. I rarely eat fast food. But today my daughter wanted a big mac. I asked for NO SALT on fries....get home & we have a bag of salt. Yet they want $15. One they can never get your order right. The food is never fresh unless right as menu change over. And the workers dont care what they give you. NO TO $15 for fast food workers.
I would give this place zero stars if I could. I was cursed out by the manager, Jasmine, for simply saying Hello after waiting a full minute at the drive thru speaker. She answered, yelling, We Closed! I asked, What? She replied, We are having a problem at the window and you getting an attitude because I cant take your order! I ask, well, what would you like me to do about that, call corporate? Jasmine resorted to go off on a rant about how yall always be wantin to call corporate whe.ever anything happens! I be telling yall you need to wait or Im havin a problem and thats all yall do! She then cursed at me. I ask for her name and then told her that the only crime I have committed is wanting breakfast for a Sunday treat for my kids. I am a very recent cancer survivor and recuperating from a double mastectomy not 2 weeks earlier. So, I pulled out my phone to record her, then the speaker went dead. I pulled up to the window, and there was the entire staff, sitting up front and laughing. Shes obviously had corporate called quite a few times, as she indicated in her statement. People like her, especially in managent, do not deserve to work with the public. I am generally extreme polite, calling everyone by maam or sir, because I think everyone deserves respect. They have lost another customer. I will never go back to this restaurant until the change their hiring practices.
Cold hard burnt food, to be fair I hear this place is extremely understaffed so I won’t say anything about the wait time. However EVERYTIME I have been to this location the ice cream machine is NEVER working! Like I mean I have asked everytime I have come as an almost experiment of sorts and they have always told me no! It’s almost like they don’t have one! Should just take it off the menu. They close at whatever time they want, one time I showed up at 7:50pm and they said they were closed! She told me at the drive through they were closed! If your closed then why are you there!! Just don’t come here.
The worse McDonalds ever... there’s nothing fast or fresh about this location. I have never heard of a fast food closing due to down systems or not enough employees but this location seems more closed than open. The second lane is never open either. Hoping new management takes over .
Horrible service! Ordered online for pick up and only drive thru available! UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION THEN. I’m stuck now with an order in a huge line and can’t even cancel it and get my money back. Please understand as well that it took more than 45 min to be in the drive thru and this is considered “fast food”
Worst McDonalds Ive visited within 5 miles... Foods OK when you finally get it, but even in the middle of the night with no other customers the employees working the drive through are lackluster at best. Forget about spending less than 25 minutes in line during lunch rush. Takes forever to order and they almost never have more than one lane open - whats the point of having two drive through lanes if one is always blocked off with cones? (this was even before Covid-19...).... and speaking of cones... their ice cream machine IS ALWAYS BROKEN. I know McDonalds are notorious for having broken ice cream machines, but this location takes the cake. So reliable is their ice cream machines lack of functionality that I always have two orders mentally prepared when Im forced to come to this location. I use quotations on broken because Im not entirely convinced the employees arent just saying that to have one less machine to service, its just too regular an occurrence.Unless theres nobody in line ahead of you and you dont really care about the service, I wouldnt go to this location, and try not to myself if I have a choice.
TERRIBLE. Terrible and very very rude service!!!! The restaurant is clearly open with workers inside, and there was a sign on both drive thru monitors that they “were out of service”. Ok. I drive to the window to place my order along with a few other cars that had the same idea. Then a very very very rude black woman, while laughing with her coworkers in plain sight, shook her head ‘no’ and yelled “Were not open!!” BS!! Mid day!!! They were so lazy and clearly didn’t want do their job but still get paid min wage. They let maybe 8 cars leave in the 5 mins I was there. I will never be back and I hope every single person there is fired. The reviews say enough.
This notice stated that this restaurant is open for drive through until 10PM . At 7:30 PM it was closed even though all the lights were still on. If you dont want our business dont open up. This was the worst McDonalds before the pandemic, and is still bad . Why is the price different for the same items every time I go.
This location is always slow. There is no let me hit this drive-thru real quick. The other thing as well, they hardly ever have that second lane in the drive-thru opened up.Also, the food quality is always terrible—cold fries and chicken nuggets that are way past their shelf life.On another note, you better check your bag. You have to ask for Napkins straws, etc. This location is the worst.
THIS IS THE WORST McDonalds to go to. Avoid this restaurant at all cost. I experienced horrible service from an employee by the name of Rosslyn. I made a complaint with corporate headquarters and emailed the CEO. This group of young people are very disrespectful and are very self entitled. It seems like they are high or something. There are plenty of restaurants in the area.
Pulled into the drive thru at 8:15pm and was told they took their last order for the night. All signage and the internet says open until 10pm. When I asked why their hours were different than posted, they responded with the same comment “we took our last order for the night.” Ridiculous.
I placed an online order, and when I got there the store was closed without explanation. I didn’t receive a refund but I was given coupons. Unfortunately they were only valid at this unreliable location. Waited in line for about 20 minutes which was only 6 cars or so, and right when it got to me a lady came out and said it was closed. Both of these experiences were middle of the afternoon with no explanation at all.If you value your time just don’t go here. There are other things I could nitpick as well. Just go to another location.
It was the slowest McDonalds drive-in I have ever been in. A worker came out to empty the garbage and one of the cars drivers asked why it was so slow and he said there were only 2 people working and this was 11 oclock in the morning. Absolutely disgusting and ridiculous
Worst McDonalds around. Was here Sunday at 2. Got our food home (1 mile away). Very obvious meat had been sitting for a long time (dark and dry) and the bun was hard. Took back our sandwiches, asked for the manager and the register girl said they werent available and then asked why we needed them. Told her we wanted a refund. Manager was working the fryer. Didnt even apologize. This is also not a corporate location. Got charged 60 cents for tomatoes and 20 cents for mustard. The McChicken was $1.40 instead of $1. Have had problems in the past too. Never going back. Drive to the one on Woodward, they are great.

2022-03-16They “open” at 6… I see workers inside, there are no lights on outside the building. No one is responding at the drive through menu. Okay, fine, maybe they need a few minutes to get everything up and running. I still had some time before going to work, I come at 6:30, I see more workers inside, I see them working, yet still no lights on and no response at the drive through menu. The lobby isn’t open, I sit for 10 mins and still nothing.

2022-06-24Go somewhere else for business. If you go here be careful of false advertising. The sign had a cheaper price while the store charged a higher price. When I waited a long time in line there for coke the ice cream machine was out. Also dine in is not available as the employees locked the doors. Be careful at this restaurant because I heard people screaming in the parking lot.

2022-08-17Lets just say when the cheeseburger is burned and nasty what else can you say? The service was quick. It was quick to get me through the line for two burnt cheeseburgers. I was too hungry and tired to turn all the way around and take it back. Its scary at the people who are out here helping these days out of desperation to have an employee work for you to keep a business open. That person who served me that burnt cheeseburger wouldnt have wanted to eat a burnt cheeseburger Im sure.Isnt the cheeseburger one of the easiest foods to make? I guess not.

2022-06-11Terrible service. Almost ten dollars for a fish filet meal where the pop was the best part of the meal. The fries were cold and the fish sandwich had sat under warming lamp. Just sad they would serve people meals like this. Id rather wait to get a fresh meal than pay for a cold fry dry fish meal. So the two stars is for the refreshing coca cola drink.

2022-06-16Sat in line for 30 min even though there were only four cars ahead of us, only to be told they have no ice cream, no apology, and it’s 95 degrees. Why don’t you have any ice cream during the hottest part or the year? I drove off. Not worth my business. Also, you still can’t go inside and order.

2022-06-06Young girl running the drive thru talked like she had peanut butter stuck to the roof of her mouth. Had no idea what she was saying. Drove around, got the order wrong (go figure) told us we had to drive around again to fix the order. Staff here are completely retarded. But hey 15 bucks a hour right!!

2022-07-04I don’t write many reviews but this place is awful I don’t want others to waste their time. It’s either closed or super long lines at the drive thru. No dine in. Once I ordered on the McDonald’s app and got Confirmation and it told me ready for pickup. I drive thru it said they are closed. I try to get someone’s attention and the lady just screams through the closed window. Never go here.

2022-08-04Ive been going to this location for years and its always been trash! Everyone up there has attitudes the card machine is always down this one time the employee told me I may only pay in exact cash and nothing over! The food is always under cooked, there was a fly in NY orange juice one time and they take forever to acknowledge the customer!! One time they were also selling romaine lettuce and it was a national recall on them! This mc donalds location is TRASH 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
