I took my Jetta in here for a second opinion after a dealership told me my engine was seized and I needed a replacement. Thank God I did because they told me that same day there was nothing wrong with my engine and it was an electrical issue. They were able to inspect it and fix it, along with some other necessary repairs as well.Taking my car here saved me thousands of dollars, and the dealership was just trying to prey on people, not bothering to try fixing the real issues. Next time, Im taking my car here first.
I highly recommend Mechanic One! From the moment I contacted them I experienced nothing but professionalism! They diagnosed the issue with my Jaguar quickly, had the parts need for the repair overnighted (from several locations) & installed those parts and got back on the road! Throughout this process, they kept me in the loop by way of phone calls and text messages. I felt like they were handling my vehicle like it was their own!
My car slid and broke axle on a snow day. Luckily it happened close to Mechanic One workshop. They took my car and provided the estimate. They also caught problem with the struts that i got replaced from another workshop who fixed my car with old used struts and charged me price of new. Mechanic One was transparent and fair they provided great service. They are very reliable and honest.
Brought my car in because the engine light came on. The staff was quick to diagnose the problem and even quicker fixing the issue. They kept in contact with me and the drop off/pick up was awesome! I hate going inside car places, I get very anxious and I didn’t have to step foot inside. A few days later they even reached out to check on how my car was running! 10/10 recommend and will absolutely be back… (hopefully not any time soon because car problems suck haha)
Zar and the team at Mechanic One have always beat the dealer price, but with the same professional care as the dealership. I have been taking my cars to Mechanic One for years. As of this review I trust them not to up charge me or scam me. Just to keep them on their professional toes. I will return with an update if anything changes ; but as of today and in the past Mechanic One gets five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Took my f150 there for repairs, and it turned out to be a bad transmission. They sourced parts and filed a claim on my behalf with my warranty company. There was a couple bumps along the way and it took a little longer than I expected but the work was done right and my truck is driving better than before. Ty was very professional on the phone and kept updating me along the way as the repairs were being made.
As a contractor who relies completely on my truck in order to sustain a living, I was very happy with my experience at Mechanic One. I live 45 minutes away, and was stuck in the area with a newer truck that randomly would not start. They kept me in the loop with daily phone calls, not only fix the simple issue (battery) but further diagnosed it so it would not happen again. Professional, attentive, and trustworthy business & employees.
Please beware of this shop Ty the Manager and Zar the mechanic. They did work on my car NEVER fixed the primary issue and kept requesting more and more money from me and the primary issue my steering wheel shaking very hard d which was very scary to me when driving on the freeway way over 60 55 mph. . $7k later my issue went s still not repaired and after paying the last $2k was told about yet another issue of inner outer front issues and an alignment that I was told another $1200/$1300. The front steering wheel was ALWAYS the issue and has NEVER been fixed. This place is a scam so please beware. I read the reviews and was excited but I’m not sure who is writing these reviews. Like one gentleman said on here they are writing their own reviews or family and friends.
Best mechanic in town hands down. Its rare to have the combination of honesty and being the best at what you do. Zar and his team are both. I was lucky to find such honest care afer being ripped off by dealerships and folks who dont really care. Long live Mechanic one
I took my 2016 Tiguan TSI to be serviced after my check engine light came on. I had recently had the gas delivery service at my employer fill up my car and they left the cap ajar and I figured it was a fuel air leak code they’d probably have to turn off. They said they found a code for a large evaporative leak. And they closed the cap securely, cleared the code and drove the car it came right back on. So they said they could perform a diagnosis on that code to the tune of 449$. They thought they were doing me a service with 35% off and using the rest towards any required repairs. My fuel cap was cracked. Could that have been the cause for the code? Maybe? According to searches I did after it could have yielded that P0455 code they found but I’ll never truly know because according to Tahla my evap solenoid needed to be replaced. He sounded knowledgeable. Said they often work on these cars. This is often seen with age and mileage and my car is getting up there, so I believed him and agreed to the fix because I need my car. It all cost $1200. Please YouTube repairing a solenoid before you let someone charge you that because I nearly died after I watched how easy it is to replace. Now when I I get another text from Tahla expect to hear my car is done-more of news. My head gasket is leaking and will need to be replaced but they’re almost done with all the other work. Ok? So you were dish so g and working on things in my engine but you put it all back together before you told me it needs more? He said that they’re in two different locations and that the solenoid was electrical and that’s what they were fixing. So you’re looking for something to fix when it’s convenient for you? Oh and that fix also costs 1100$? Ummmm I think not.I got lured in by the convenience and the ease of the texting estimates. And Tahla sounded knowledgeable but they’re just like all the other untrustworthy mechanics out there. Fishing for work. Upcharging on parts. Definitely preying on women. Don’t trust the google reviews everyone. I did and it did not pay off.
Helped figure out what was going on with some noise in my car. Work was done exactly as quoted and throughly explained in detail. Took the exact amount of time they said it would, which I still thought was pretty quick based on some other work I’ve had done recently. Would recommend!
Gave them a call a few weeks ago about the problems my transmission was having. They told me they could repair the issue and work on cars like mine often. Well I was completely mislead. It turns out they could not find the problem I was having with my transmission. The employee told me I would need to have an additional diagnosis done to figure out what’s wrong. To my surprise, still no answers and $300 down the drain for the “diagnosis”. Now I’m down $300 and no lead on what’s wrong with my car. Do not come here for transmissions, as they do not work on singular parts and only replace the whole thing. If I’d known that from the beginning I’d of gone elsewhere…
As a first time customer, I was really happy with my experience at Mechanic One. Zar and his guys were very professional from the start and kept me informed at every step of the diagnosis and even offered discounts for many of the services. I liked the convenience of the drop-off/pick-up, even after hours, and they found several issues with my Cadillac SRX that needed to be replaced or tuned up. The customer service was top-notch & I’m so happy to have found a great place in the Plymouth/Canton area for all my future auto needs. Thanks guys!!
110% recommend Mechanic One! As a customer I appreciated the work that Zar and his team of mechanics did to both my Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. Amazing and quality work done to both my vehicles. The experience and also how they are professionally licensed auto shop is what gives me the approval of getting the maintenance my cars need. Extremely happy with this shop. I have had many services done to my vehicle and each time the job was done with professional quality and in a timely manner. The shop workers have gone out of their way for me to with assist with the repair of my vehicle. They have located and ordered parts for me, they have picked me up and dropped me off before and they are fair with pricing. I return each time my car needs to be repaired and each time I leave happy and confident that my car has been repaired by quality mechanics who care. Lastly, I have to say, I was super impressed with the cleanliness in the shop. I would recommend them to anyone again and again. Very professional, Upfront with what was really wrong with my car (honest). PS, if you’re reading this I highly recommend!
I have been taking my Kia and my Subaru here for a year now. The Master mechanics at Mechanic One have noticed things that dealerships and others have missed. I feel confident and so well taken care of. And the prices are not unreasonable. Everyone I have spoken to here has a high level of respect for their customers and explains exactly what they have found and what they suggest, why they price it as such and why they suggest going that route. I recommend Mechanic One to anyone who takes their vehicle care seriously and wants a good mechanic they can trust!
I had a very good experience at Mechanic One. The attendants were very helpful (as much as they could be during COVID). They let me know what they would be doing to my car and then contacted me letting me know what was going on. I called periodically, just wanting an update, each and every time they were patient and let me know what the status of my vehicle every time. I also appreciated them working with me on all levels for my cars completion. They were really professional in making sure that my car was in good shape before it’s return to me, checking it on the road and while idle. There was no run around, just straight forward information about concerns and their resolve.I would definitely recommend and return to Mechanic One Auto Repair shop.
Communication was excellent and very timely and accurate diagnostics and repair. My local mechanic was in over his head with my Subaru and told me to go to the dealer. Was so fortunate to find an independent Subaru mechanic that was waaaay cheaper than the dealer would have been. I would highly recommend these guys.
I was on a very special road trip (For me at least.) when my van was in need of repair fast. I use my intuition for choices in life many times, and was drawn to get my van looked at by Mechanic One in Canton, Michigan. Not being from Ann Arbor area made it all seem very stressful. Fortunately the folks at Mechanic One gave me confidence that this was an honest repair shop, by the way they showed respect and concern. My van is a 1999 Chevy Express, and boy was in need of some major work. The owner walked me through each step of repair work, was reasonable in repair cost and I was confident that I would be fine for my trip to Colorado. My van is now called, “The Beast”, as it travels very well in most terrains. My new gas tank is doing extremely well, and my Pulley work has proven itself. Both of these repairs were reasonable for parts and labor. All in all, I would highly recommend Mechanic One for vehicle repair work.I feel gratitude that I landed at their shop.
I was in town visiting family. My dad recommended that I get my brakes checked out while I was here since they did not sound good. I took it to Mechanic One Auto Repair. They had a contactless drop off, which was very easy to do. Their customer service was amazing. They did a great job on helping me understand what was wrong with my car and walked me through the pricing. I appreciate that they gave me recommendations for future work on my car. They also contacted me a couple days later to make sure everything was running great. They did a fantastic job with my car, I am very happy with the service I received. I will definitely come back for future repairs.
Ive been taking my Subaru to Zar and Mechanic One for years. Im giving an enthusiastic five stars. They always give me the best price, do fast, solid work, and offer a fantastic warranty on all repairs so if something isnt just right, theyll fix it no questions. I especially appreciate Zar and Co.s thorough explanations of what needs fixing and what will be done, so Im always confident Im getting the best work at the best price.I drive out to Canton from Ann Arbor, but its well worth the trip. Now I never take my car anywhere else.
My first time having my car repaired at Mechanic One Auto Repair and I am very impressed. They solved an electrical issue that I believe has been causing issues since I bought the car, a problem other mechanics had failed to correctly identify until my car completely shorted out. The diagnosis and repair took a few days but a mechanic named Zar contacted me daily with updates and did a great job of keeping me informed. Absolutely great, thorough work at a very decent price. I had a very good experience and I will be back! Thanks!
I would most definitely recommend Mechanic One and will be a returning customer if and when needed! Its a trustworthy repair shop with the knowledge depth to get the job done. They go that extra mile for service. Zar and the team at Mechanic One are the best in town! With a little one always in the SUV, safety is our biggest concern, and they went above and beyond to check off all of our possible issues in order for us to drive worry free. Worth every penny!
My experience at Mechanic One far exceeded my expectations. I dropped my BMW off for a check engine light and they were quick to diagnose the problem and perform the repairs. Zar called me daily with updates and gave a thorough explanation of what was found and what needed to be done. If youre looking for an honest, trustworthy mechanic look no further than Mechanic One.
This was my first visit to Mechanic One, so I was apprehensive about leaving my car with a business I didnt know. I was only going to replace one set of brakes and rotors, but after consulting with the owner we agreed they would perform all four replacements. I thought the price was fair and the new brakes/rotors look and feel good. If you have a German car, dont hesitate to bring it here for maintenance. I will use them again.
These guys are awesome. Resurrected my dead Journey! My car, Misfire City. Kept me in the loop through the whole process. Replaced half my engine, and it needed it! Parts are high quality, and the work was excellent. Definitely choosing these guys for any other work I cant handle.
This place is great! They are super friendly and most importantly honest! I was getting all my oil changes here because it was very straight to the point, Mike let me know that my brakes needed changing last time but didn’t pressure me. I went back to get my brakes done and it was another great experience. Mike let me know ahead of time what kind of price I was looking at and the things that could possible add to that price (because I didn’t take his advice and change the breaks at the last oil change). I never thought car repairs could be such an easy experience. This will be the only place I take my car from here on out.
Zar was so professional and extremely patient with me. I was not familiar with contactless drop off. In fact, the whole process was confusing for me. Zar answered all three of my phone calls during drop off and my questions. He made me feel comfortable. When it came to the repairs he explained what was wrong with the car and how he would fix it. He used clear, professional language and didn’t dumb anything down because I’m a woman. He was up front about all the pricing and did not repair anything without my knowledge of the price and the procedure. He’s made a new customer for life! I highly recommend his business.
I asked them to check out a car I was going to purchase. Not only did the get me in quickly but I got not only a review of the vehicle but also a personal chat and some guidance on what I should expect with the car. They were very up front and definitive in their advise. I appreciated the candor and professionalism. Well done guys!
Have gone through mechanic one for many different repairs and they have provided excellent service everytime. They help out with pricing providing relevant discounts when applicable and offer 0% financing (third party). Great trustworthy mechanics!Zar is amazing and got me through a rough patch with my car. Highly recommend the shop especially if you have a bmw!
Not sure if these reviews are all family and friends --Customers beware. (They had a lot of good review as to why I choose them to fix my car) BUT after I declined the $300 inspection fee to figure out what is wrong.... I decided to take a different route - and declined their services - (they could of told me that over the phone this was their process and not mislead me that theyd wave the $50 inspection fee since I was a s first time client) had I know that it would really be $300 to figure out my convertible top issue - I wouldnt of taken my car here. I said I pick it up in the morning -- When I went to retrieve it the following day - they had parked the vehicle with its lights on overnight - and the 1 year old battery was completely dead. Nice!... Accident or not -- they had to physically turn the lights from Auto to manually.
I had a GREAT experience with Mechanic One - and would highly recommend them to anyone.I had damage done to the front of my car repaired by them, and they were very good at communicating updates, providing me with transparency about the progress of the repairs, and working with the insurance company also. They went over and above - thanks to the whole team, especially Zar, who was very professional and fast at providing updates and information to me.
All of the staff are friendly and professional. They were happy to answer questions, and the work on my brakes was done in a timely way. Their price was less than what was quoted at the dealership. I would highly recommend them, and I know where all my future mechanic needs will be met!
Ive gone to Mechanic One twice in the past month and a half. I first took my 2017 Chevy Cruze in in early July as the entire car was vibrating at low speeds and the engine light was on. When I took the car in, they replaced the turbo and spark plugs for $1,800. When I picked the car up, one of the tires was totally flat and no one was able to tell me why that might be. One of the mechanics reinflated my tire but the next day the tire completely lost pressure again. I took it to a tire shop and was told a nail was embedded in the tire, which was not the case before I dropped it off. I thought that at this point all was resolved but, two weeks later, the engine light came back on, with the same two codes and vehicle behavior. Add to that a new oil leak...This time, I spent almost $700 for a new valve header. I was told that the new turbo was providing higher pressure to the old exhaust system, which caused a crack in the system and therefore the oil leak (into the air system to the new turbo). Its been two weeks since the second repair and my car is leaking oil AGAIN. I am beyond frustrated. I am out $2,500, have gone several weeks with no vehicle, and my car is no better off than it was before I took it in a month and a half ago. I thought I was getting a good deal at this place but it has been a huge headache. Each time I take it back in they seem to find something else that needs to be fixed immediately.I came back to the shop this time around because I had a good experience when I brought this same car in for a repair last year. They were quick, reasonable, and friendly then (therefore the two star rating rather than one). However, as mentioned, I am not at all satisfied this time around. I appreciate that they take the time to explain what seems wrong and detail the repair. However, it doesnt seem like they fully know whats wrong and keep charging me for it...I am hoping that Mechanic One is going to do the right thing and fix this.
My overall experience at Mechanic One was very good. My initial problem was related to the heat and cooling of the vehicle which prompted me to take the vehicle in. They offered to diagnose the vehicle while I waited, or I could drop the car off and come back. I chose the latter, but the waiting area was nice. They had water and coffee, free wifi available if I needed to wait.Zar, the mechanic who communicated with me throughout always called and explained the issues they found, why it is important to repair, and what the cost would be. There were many issues with my vehicle (though my car had just crossed the 100,000 mark with no major maintenance done, so this wasnt a huge surprise). The only minor issue was I expected my vehicle to be ready for pickup, and arranged a ride to go pick it up, but when I arrived near closing, the alignment was off and they had to keep the car one more night. I was frustrated, but they took care of driving me home and I picked up the car the next day. Im glad they made sure it was 100% correct rather than giving me the car that night knowing it wasnt finished. In short, experience was good. Mostly young guys, but you can tell they take pride in what they do. Prices werent out of this world great, but definitely fair and competitive. I would recommend
Mechanic one is a fantastic place to get your car taken care of! they are always very transparent about whats wrong, explaining why it’s wrong, and they have outstanding customer service. every time i get something done, even if it’s just an oil change, they always check in with me after a few days to make sure things are running smoothly and i’m happy with the work they did. i’ve never been overcharged for anything, and they’re always really great at helping you finance your fixes! the work they do is fast and reliable!
I drive a 2008 Smart Car which had a transmission problem and decided to try Mechanic One for the first time. Zar (the owner) was very thorough in diagnosing the issues and had me back on the road in a timely fashion. Matt, the mechanic who worked on my car, was very familiar and knowledgeable about the car. I wouldnt hesitate in going back as its not easy finding anyone to work on Smart Cars.
Took my 2005 Range Rover to have it looked at. It sat in the same spot for DAYS!! I purposely rode past at different times all 4 days he had itand it never moved. Then had the nerve to charge us $500. Zar is very unprofessional and just cares about getting money. I would 1000000% recommend you take your vehicle next door to All in 1 Oil Change Complete Auto Repair They will take very good care of your vehicle.Update:Now the owner is trying to say I didnt bring my car to them to fix when I have the the receipt. Believe all the negative reviews on here. Nothing good will come to people who scam hard-working people out of their money
Need to thank the shop for taking care of my 2012 e350. Zar and his team took time to inspect and test my trans. I knew I had problems since two summers ago. invited me in to take a look at the shavings inside my trans. I told them to repair anything they are able to. I love my car since it was a hand me down so I had to go in. Whenever I could not go in, they sent pictures of their findings. Ended up getting a better transmission. Took care of some other issues during same visit. No more odd shifts!! Very honest and very profesional.
I recently worked with Mechanic One on significant car repairs. Zar was responsive and easy to work with through this stay safe period. Received an estimate within 24 hours and repairs were completed on time. The car is running great and Zar followed up to check in on my satisfaction. I highly recommend them and will return for future needs.
Took my 2013 Honda Accord here for my 150k mile service, and Zarr and his team were spectacular! I came in knowing what issues needed to be dealt with for my car and they took care of everything, kept me well informed as well as giving me a timeline. Would heavily recommend Zarr and his team, as they did not try to up-sell me on unnecessary upgrades unlike other shops.
Zar did some major work on an old junker of mine that gave it new life and now my partner and I go to him for all our car repair and maintenance needs. He’s timely, professional and will take the time to explain everything to the not-so-car-savvy which I’ve always appreciated. He treats his customers with respect and as long as I live in the area he will have my business.
I recently purchased a 2007 Bentley GTC convertible and took it to Zarabd his team to make sure it was ready for the summer and they were as thorough as could be. They diagnosed any issues and did a good job of communicating what they were and what my options were. I felt very comfortable with the process. They picked up the car from my driveway and when I picked it up it had been detailed and gassed. Two nice customer friendly touches. They also walked me through the vehicle etc. I recommend them highly. Jim in canton
Ive been to Mechanic One about 3 times. The first time was a few years ago, and I had some minor repairs done and everything was fine. The next time I went, I had my rear brakes replaced (maybe a year or two ago) and I ended up paying a lot because they kept finding more things that needed to be replaced. Fast forward to last week - my check engine light was on so I went to Mechanic One again. They diagnosed it and told me the wiring and throttle body needed to be replaced. Then, they said my gasket cover was shot and oil was leaking in my engine. I trusted their assessment, and it cost $1300. After they test drove my car, they told me my front brakes needed to be replaced. At this point, I got suspicious. I ended up taking my car to a Midas and they inspected my brakes and told me my front brakes are fine but my rear passenger brake and calipers were worn (and they showed me). I will no longer be going here for repairs.
Zar and his team at Mechanic One are truly top notch! Through my experience, they really care about seeking ways to provide you with excellent service and expertise at the lowest price possible. They have a great communication and present a list of options for solving a problem as opposed to just one answer that is usually the highest cost. I saved a bunch of money through them and trust them with any repair needs Ill have in the future! Do yourself a favor and reach out to Mechanic One. Be sure to thank me later!
This team is amazing! Super professional, great communication, and very understanding! This team took on to what others probably looks like a P.O.S rusted pick up truck, but to me it’s my baby. they didn’t judge me for it and diagnosed everything and told me what was going to make my truck the most safe/essential and provided me with quotes, so I could work on the other non-urgent repairs as time comes! I’ve grown up in auto repair my whole life; they use top of line parts and have top of the line service skills
Towed my car for brakes and suspension all the way around. They told me theyre bad but its looking bad underneath the engine. I already understood what that could mean for my car and the repairs but they explained to me either way so were on the same page - I was impressed by their experience. My bill ended up being almost HALF of what the dealership was asking for. I got pads and rotors and suspension done on each side for cheaper here. Went with an engine tune up along with fluid changes after my initial repairs. Then got some new gaskets to make sure itll stay dry. My SRT hasnt driven this smooth in years.
By far the best mechanic experience I have ever had. Professionalism and Punctuality is unmatched. Working with Zar, he made sure to keep me updated on the process from start to end, was very straightforward, and timely. Drop off and pickup were seamless and COVID safe. I will be coming here for all my repairs in the future!
Mechanic One did an excellent job on my car. Had an issue with my Mazda not starting and I took it to several different places and no other place could identify the problem. Mechanic One immediately discovered the issue and gave me a discount prices on the price for parts and labor. I highly recommend them if you ever need your car repair or checked out.
SHADY! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! I have honestly no idea how these people have any good reviews. I am making this as a warning to anyone considering taking their car here. I only took mine here because everything else was full at the time and now it all makes sense Our last resort mechanic one auto repair, seemed to be an honest and legitimate company at first. Dropped my car off and they were very eager to call daily and pressure into adding on more repairs throughout the process. Which by the way takes forever. And is extremely overpriced. Pretends to throw coupons on their already ridiculous prices. Almost 1000$ per repair. Im sure theyd keep adding untill you tell them to stop, I had to stop them at 2000$ which was the price I paid for my car! Ended up getting my car fixed for something I didnt even bring it in for, and being wayyy overcharged. Not only that but as soon as I received my vehicle, rolled the window down and it became stuck down! Never had this problem before, figured maybe they slammed my door too hard and when we called back they told us to bring it in and they would repair it free of charge. Thats the only reason I let these people touch my vehicle again. Next day we drop it off and we get a call a few hours telling us to do the free repair we had to remove the door panel which costs $400 but since we were soooo lucky we could get it for 150$. Completely led us into their shop with lies so they could do another overcharged repair that wasnt even present untill I brought it in. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt the whole way but i feel so tricked. Got my car out of there immediately and I am warning everybody I can to STAY AWAY from these heartless people who would take your last dime if they could!
I took my Acura for a valver cover gasket and all the employees where very helpful and profesional. Owner or Manager Zar contacted me days later to make sure that evrything was going good with my car at which I told him that the car keept leaking oil do to a pinched cable. Zar told me to take it for an inspection and without charge they replaced the gasket. I would defenitly recomend this shop.
They were very accommodating to take my car repair late on Saturday evening right before closing and even gave a loaner to use till Monday when they worked on the repairs. Explained the issue very clearly and gave me updates until all the problems were fixed with the car. I would highly recommend their service.
Im from out of state, and my car broke down while we are traveling to Detriot . I took my car at mechanic one to get it fixed. They looked at my bmw. Zar ang his team assured me that they will look closely for the problem of my car.Im so glad i took my bmw to their shop because they have the knowledge and they are willing to go beyond your needs.Zar and his team fixed my car and made my way back home with no problem. I highly recommend mechanic one to everyone!
Zar and his team are amazing! Very fast results as well as reliable information. I had just purchased a vehicle (from a reputable company across the nation that claims to have a easy process), and the day after I was having problems with it. Zar was straight to the point and provide me with information that has made me a lifetime customer.
Hands down, this repair shop has to be the best repair shop that I’ve ever experienced in life! The young man who assisted me over the phone when I called after being quoted outrageous prices for services from the dealership, was so courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Shortly thereafter, i brought my vehicle in— same day. All of my vehicle needs were handled within approximately 1.5 hours or so. We won’t even talk about the cleanliness of this place, as well as the snack and coffee beverages while you wait! Very reasonably priced also. I will certainly be returning for a few other auto needs very soon. Thank you Mechanic One!
Zar and his team of experts did an excellent job in diagnosing and fixing my electrical problem. The team was honest and very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. At no point did I ever feel pressured to to fix something I want didn’t wanna fix. In fact Zar always had A step one, step two or a third alternative to finding the solution. Being new to the area I was very relieved to find a mechanical service that I can rely on today and in the future. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
Got my Toyota 4Runner back on the road.Had a great experience with them. Zar helped me out a lot, great at communicating with you through the whole process of fixing the car. Gave constant updates to let you know what’s going on and worked with you on everything.I Highly recommend!Great service-Greg h
I have been taking my BMW to Mechanic One for the last 3 years. They are great. Very knowledgeable, professional and their rates are very reasonable. Zar is always cheerful and easy to talk to regarding any issue with your car. They do not pressure you to make any repairs. They let you know what needs immediate work and what can wait. Needless to say my car runs great. If you are looking for a professional , friendly and reasonably priced car repair put Mechanic one on the top of your list!
Love this shop! I’m always hesitant before going to take my car in because I don’t much about cars and I also don’t want to be ripped off. But mechanic one has truly changed the game for auto repair. When you walk in you feel like you walked into an Apple store or Tesla shop. Very simple, clean, welcoming, and cool. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and great teachers when explaining everything about repairs or parts needed. Pricing is also fair compared to crazy expensive dealer prices. The guys do great honest work and truly care about customer satisfaction. If you’re not happy or have questions, don’t hesitate to ask questions or talk to the owner Zar yourself, they will always take care of you. Highly recommend!
They took very good care of me! Being a female we get taken advantage of with the little car knowledge we have. Not at Mechanic one, they make sure to explain everything In detail while considering what works best for you. Not to mention the cleanliness of this place Holy smokes it’s the cleanest auto shop I’ve witnessed! You can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea as if you are just casually relaxing in your home. Thank you for phenomenal service!
Prompt response and the entire process was contactless, which is nice. Just dropped off my car, spoke with Zar on the phone about what was going on, then I picked it up two days later. They even fixed a rattling noise from my steering that the car had had since purchase. The prices also seemed reasonable compared to repairs Ive gotten in the past. My girlfriend is thinking of taking her vehicle into them as well.
Seems like they are all about telling you whatever they want just to make some money. Took my car here 3 times for front end work and paid a deductible of $250 twice for me to still turn around and have to pay $130 for a new battery and all my problems went away. So since they didn’t check my battery before doing unneeded work, they gave me a $250 store credit. 2 months later I now need rear end work, considering the fact I have a $250 credit I took my car back (which is the only reason I came back!!) for a 3rd time for rear strut assembly. They told me $750 with the $250 deductible. I went on google and it said the most I should pay is 800. I called around to belle tire they told me $507 and I called Holbrook and they told me $600. So how it is that with the $250 off i still would have to pay $750 for the work. Meaning the total work for the rear strut assembly would be $1,000 which I know is not even close to correct! I didn’t get the work done. I went and purchased the parts myself for $150 total. And paid $100 for the work. Which put me at at total of $250 all together which is $500 less than what they were trying to charge me with a $250 store credit. Wouldn’t recommend them to anyone and definitely don’t recommend my credit union to do business with a company like this.
They mislead me about long it would take to fix the transmission. They charged $350 as a diagnostic fee. My 2014 manual Jeep Patriot was there for three weeks. $4500 to fix the trans. Less than a week later, it started making ominous creaking noises. I took it back because they worked on it last and you know what? The guy at Mechanic One told me that hes seen a lot of suspension problems in this Jeep model. I took it to my car guy, John at American Auto. $20. All it needed was a lube job. Dont use this company unless you absolutely have no other option. And no, I absolutely did NOT mistake Mechanic One for the oil change shop. This place really did a number on me. Never again.
Had a service done here on my 2005 dodge magnum RT which needed a new engine. When I first took the car to them, they claimed that there was a free inspection. I get a call the next day and I’m told I have to pay $90 for them to do a more thorough inspection. I pay them and let them handle everything and do the work. The day I go to pick my car up, it’s ticking and he says to take it easy on the car the first few months but I’ve had an engine replaced by a mechanic in my home town and the day he finished the car, he told me to push it and if I couldn’t then his work was wrong. So the day I get my car back it has a tick. I was told to drive it and it’ll slowly go away. Shortly after, I went on vacation and came back home to my car loosing coolant constantly. I replace my radiator and continue to drive it so one day it doesn’t start. I take it back to mechanic one and the company they had gotten the engine from voids my warrant because the radiator was changed out. It all boils back down to mechanic one not doing their job correctly because if they would’ve done this “thorough inspection” they would’ve noticed that the radiator was bad and I never would’ve had to change it myself. So now I’m out of $5,000 and I’m about to lose my job all because someone didn’t do their job correct the first time. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. THEY JUST TELL YOU THEY WILL TRY TO FIX IT AND NOTHING EVER HAPPENS. FEEL FREE TO REPLY AND I CAN SHOW YOU HUYS MY RECEIPTS
Zar was friendly and polite. They worked on my cars electrical system. He explained everything and was patient. It took time to find my problem. I expected a wait, so, that was par for electrical service. He called every step of the way. They also did a total car inspection. That was great when a few problems were brought to my attention. I didnt feel like I was being milked for more money. They also picked me up when my car was done. That was a great help for a one car household. They also followed with a call to make sure my car was runnig good. They are a great hometown auto repair shop.
Called in late one evening looking to get an oil change before a road trip. They took my car in and took care of everything quickly. Nice waiting area with some snacks and the front desk was extremely accommodating and did not pressure me into getting any other work done that my car did not require. Will definitely be back again!
The guys at mechanic one are awesome. Both my boyfriend and I took our cars here and both experiences were exceptional. They were honest, explained everything that was going on, made sure to find the exact problem, and were all very pleasant and polite. Best place that I have ever taken my car to and I would go back again if I ever had any issues.
Mechanic one auto repair rocks!!Brought my sons car in for some brake noise. The staff were very nice and had me leave the car for free inspection. Later they called to say the front end brakes needed to be replaced and an oil change as well. A few hours later the manager called back to say upon further inspection the rear end brakes were low but still had some wear left on them and could probably go for another 3000 miles before replacement was needed. There was no pressure to change them now but a heads up. I decided to change them now and the manager said no problem. Got the car back the same day. They showed me the old brakes and the wear on them. They were professional all the way answering all my questions and concerns. Mechanic one auto repair is definitely my new auto repair place of choice. Just love the wonderful, friendly and honest service they provide!! Thanks guys!
This place is amazing, the customer service is top-notch, and they left me with a satisfied experience. Way better than all the other mechanic places Ive been to around Canton and practically the entirety of Michigan. Definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone in Michigan.
This place is AMAZING and the owner is so nice. I was quoted a great price for the amount of work I needed done. Definitely would of easily cost me $1,500 somewhere else and the loaner car made it even more convenient. I was still able to go to work for two days while my vehicle was being repaired.
Ive been going to Mechanic One since I moved into the area five years ago. They are incredibly fair and go above and beyond. Their mechanics always take the time to thoroughly explain the issues and show us exactly whats wrong. They offer a fair price and have always been respectful. I highly recommend them.
I have a 2005 VW Touareg and while I was driving to my appointment at “Mechanic One” in Canton MI., a red light came on in my dash. Of course, I was very concerned. I took a chance and continued driving to, “Mechanic One.” I spoke with the mechanic, Zar, and explained my concerns surrounding my truck. He was a professional and provided the information required for me that was necessary regarding the engine issues. Throughout the work taking place with my vehicle, Zar continued to explain everything, step by step.I was certain that he was a professional and I was confident that he and his crew would work hard to successfully complete the enormous task ahead.I will also bring my Touareg back to, “Mechanic One” for all future mechanical work.I am grateful to find an automotive businessThat is honest and place the customer needs first.Thank you, again.Jean-Etta Smith
The diagnosed 3 broken things to be change was wrong and to fixed it the total price was too high we took it to different places and they fixed only one thing and the price was 70%less.So if we changed the things that they told us about!? The problem will stay there and will be more money to be spent for a fault diagnosed. That was my first time going there and thats my story.
Zar and the guys do a great job.I came in to get my cabin filter replaced. They checked the air filter as well and brought me to show me the dirt and leaves and stuff in both filters. They also saw that my battery was leaking acid pretty steadily and I had corrosion going on. Got all if it taken care of and quickly.
During my visit to MI, Mechanic One Auto Repair provided very high quality service to my 2012 Honda Accord with great dedication and at very affordable price..In fact, Zar provided additional service at no extra cost. Appreciate their exceptional auto experience and superior customer service. I have recommended Zar to several families in MI. Akbar
Of all my local shops, these guys offered me the best price for the job I needed done. And they were super friendly when I walked in and DIDNT try to strong arm me. Only reason its 4 stars is because it did take a bit longer than planned. Not their fault entirely, but still worth noting. But would definitely recommend
I recently took my 1999 Lincoln Town Car which has 326,570 miles for its yearly service. I was greeted by Zar the service manager. Zar and his team of mechanics treated me as #1. I was given a fair price to have the oil changed, top of all fluids and have my entire vehicle examined. While waiting for my car I enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee and snacks which was covered by Mechanic One. I have absolutely no complaints of the work the mechanics did on my car. As winter rolls around I am going to count on Mechanic One and Zar to keep my 1999 Lincoln Town car on the road. Thank you again Mechanic One for your service and hospitality.
Mechanic One took care of repairs I needed on my car in a timely and professional manner. They thoroughly inspected my car and were very clear in explaining what was wrong. They didn’t pressure me into additional repairs and fixed exactly what was wrong with my car. Great work!
Excellent customer service, gave me great advice on my car when the engine died and they had nothing to gain. He said that they would put another one in but it wont be worth it as well as tons of other unforseen problems that could occur. If you want a honest answer for your car needs, this is the place to go.
*10 stars*Zar and his team performed a pre purchase inspection on a vehicle, showed and explained everything to my daughter and repeated the report to me over the phone. I contacted Zar the next day with additional questions, he answered all my questions with confidence and obvious expertise on the subject. This car had major issues and would of been a disaster had we purchased without inspection. Zar even contacted us to follow up if everything went well when we spoke to the seller of the vehicle. Mechanic One is the type of place that raises the bar for the industry, and though I do not live in the area they have my business going forward.
Fast and friendly service. Mechanic One Auto Repair from being incredibly friendly and helpful over the phone, they got me in same day, waited for the delayed tow-truck to arrive after business hours with my Infiniti G35 Coupe and had my car in working order the next day. You pay for quality and its totally worth it! They will backup my battery issues for the next five years. Great shop! Mechanic One Auto Repair is a sweetheart!
Right before NYE the timing chain on my car broke. I Took It To Mechanic One and they treated my car like it was one of their own. They called and gave me updates almost everyday. When I called they were always nice and well mannered. I will definitely recommend them to anyone.
All the employees here are extremely helpful at explaining what is going on with vehicle and explaining in such a way a non educated person in mechanics would understand. They also checked after fixing vehicle within 72 hours to ensure it was up to my expectations. I’d recommend them to anyone who wants a humane experience and wants their vehicle fixed properly the first time.
Trustable and very professional!! Will recommend to anyone needing help with any and all repairs from sports cars/trucks/to your daily driver. I have had all 3 type of vehicles worked on with great professional outcomes. The owner and staff really take time to really explain the problem with your vehicle and give you the best options to make ends meet with competitive pricing!!
After a bad experience at a dealership Mechanic One took care of us. Not only did they fix the car they drove it to make sure we would have a reliable car that wouldnt breakdown in a few days. Far more concern for their customers than any car repair shop Ive been to previously!
Very professional, very nice shop. I took my car here because the other shops didn’t know how to work on an e36, they found the problem pretty quick, called me up and told me how much. I was a little unhappy with how I got my car back... because they got it dirty(the inside) however, they got the job done that I couldn’t figure out, Firestone couldn’t figure out a couple other shops here and there. Definitely the place to go if your car is foreign and/or older. I would’ve most definitely given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the mess. Zar, the owner, has checked up on me and my car multiple times ever since. Mechanic One cares about their customers, out of all places I’ve been, I’ve never had somebody ask me how the car is driving months after they’ve worked on it. For sure a quality job!
They seem to do a good job overall, most of the time. Their manager is friendly and easy to work with. However, I cannot give five stars for two reasons:1. When we brought in our car with a serious (but intermittent) problem (likely a transmission failure), they fixed several other issues but not the main problem.2. The interior of our car smelled strongly of smoke after they finished with it. Luckily the smell dissipated after a couple of days but was very annoying while it lasted.
I had an intermittent starting problem with my 2004 Chevy Impala and it turned out to be an electrical issue which they diagnosed and now it runs beautifully. They also went the extra mile and fixed my driver side door which made a terrible noise when opening and closing. They kept me informed and I was very happy with the service I received!
Lars answered my call quickly with enthusiasm, politeness, and genuine interest in solving our car problems. He told us to drop the car off, so we did that very morning. It was all contactless service, due to covid, so we filled out the orange slip with my girlfriend’s info, dropped the keys in the envelope, then into the dropbox. We left and awaited a call. Later that day, Lars calls and says its her brakes, they were at 15% life and needed urgent fixing. He quotes us at $700, and thats after he applied our first timers discount. We tell him its okay to do the work. Later that night, Lars calls again and says they’re almost done, but that her gasket was broken and it was leaking oil all over and it’d be an extra $600 to repair. Keep in mind, after the initial call, Lars was speaking solely with my girlfriend. I wasn’t near, and when my girlfriend got off the phone, she was in tears. She told him to fix it. She said he sounded very honest and nice, but I knew he’d obviously made it sound pretty bad for her to have been in such distress. I wanted to call back, but she insisted on letting him do the work. He told her it’d take most of the next day to fix, but that it should be done. $1300 later, the next day, he calls and tells my girlfriend her control arms were broken and that it’d be another $600 repair. He told her to finance it. She told him no, thankfully. He said okay, and that the car wasn’t done, but that we’d be able to pick it up by noon the next day. After taxes and fees, we paid $1400 for the work. Once we finally picked the car up, my girlfriend rolled her window down on the way to work and it became stuck down, a very first since she owned the car. Huge safety and weather concerns. Upon looking at it myself, the controls were working and moving the window a little bit, but something was blocking it from going up even half way. I call Mechanic One back and Lars happily tells us to bring it in and that they’d fix it free of charge. The next morning I call to give a heads up about dropping the car off and to ensure he would do it free of charge. A second time, he said those exact words, “free of charge”. So F it, we bring the car back in. A few hours later, he calls me, and tells me it looks good from the outside, but that they would need to take the door panel off. Of course, I figured they’d need to! He then tells me its a $400 job, but that since we just had work done, they’d do it for $150. JUST to remove the door panel. If the window was off its track, they’d repair THAT for “free”. But the door panel was being considered a separate job. Lars claimed it would take upwards of 4 hours to take the door panel off, and that time is separate from any repair that would actually need to be done afterwards. He said if it was a part that needed replacing, it’d cost us even more. I told him to leave it and we’d figure it out ourselves. They earn their one star, because somehow they did get the window up, but it’s loose, and I think now there is a broken part. People like this think they’re clever by staying “honest” and “transparent”, all while still getting one over on you. I don’t know how dumb or naive they thought we were. Professional (maybe selective) scammer with a well written script and years of reciting it. They wasted so much of our time. I’m unsure how they can be comfortable wasting their own time like that. Never saw a face the whole transaction. When I called and asked how to pay, I was told to go to the website, scroll to the bottom of the page, and take out a loan for $3000, with which I’d use to finance the repair. What the hell? What trusting and/or trustworthy business gives away $3000 to first time customers, and with no credit check?? Whats further absurd is he sounded surprised when I said I’d be paying in full. I would highly advise the public to look elsewhere.P.S. We don’t need anyone from your store “reaching out to us to resolve this matter”. I’m unsure how you can use the bad experiences, which belong only to those of us who’ve had them, to make your service better in the future.
Simply put, this mechanic is top notch. It takes a while to find a business that you trust to look at your vehicle and provide accurate information without trying to nickel and dime you, and this one was superior as soon as I walked in the door. The staff at Mechanic One provides a level of professionalism unparalleled to other auto shops in the area. On multiple occasions I have been able to drive in on a whim, have them look at my car, and have a diagnosis and recommended plan of action within MINUTES. I didnt schedule an appointment, nor did I pay to have them take a peek (like many other shops do).Not only do they provide outstanding service at a fantastic rate, but they are personable and approachable. All too often it is hard talking to a Mechanic in fear that they may talk down to you - Not these folks! They explained issues and their remedies in a way that you understand, and made sure you were comfortable during the entire process. Simply put, I dont feel like another payment in their books when I bring my vehicles in - they are invested in both the product AND the customer, and it show 100%.I cant recommend this business enough!
It was a great experience with the mechanic one auto repair shop, Excellent customer Service, Used this shop to fix my car problem. I heard about the mechanic one shop from one of my neighbor who also fixed his Car problems from the same place. They recommended this car repairing shop address to me and I called Mechanic One Auto Repair. I was truly very happy after getting my car problem fixed by Mechanic One repair staff, Especially thanks to Mechanic One Auto Repair Team for organizing an incredible service in Michigan. Will definitely use their service for any of my car problems in future.
This place is horrible. If you’re young or a female do not go here, they’ll assume you’re stupid and take advantage. They will overcharge you for everything and leave your vehicle worse than it was. The mechanic smoked cigarettes in my car. Please read the full storyLast week I had my Toyota Prius towed to Mechanic One after it broke down, not knowing what was wrong. The mechanic who worked with me, Zar, said they would do a free diagnosis to assess the issue. Later the next day, he called to tell me there were two codes that came up for the engine, and in order to trace down which particular sensors were at fault I would need to pay for a $200 additional diagnosis. I understood what he was saying, so I agreed to move forward. He called me the next day saying that two sensors need to be replaced, totaling to $1,100. Considering I need a car for work and school, I authorized the repairs. A few days later he calls me and asks for my parent’s number. I asked why, and he said he could give them the news and then me. My parents recommended the mechanic to me and called to check on the status of my car. However, the car is mine and I am the one paying for the repairs. He called on Saturday and told my parents the throttle body needed to be replaced, which would be an additional $800. My parents said they couldn’t authorize them to move forward, since they weren’t paying for it. Zar never called me back on Saturday, and by the time I had a moment to call they were closed. Mechanic one is not open on Sunday, so I had to wait until Monday to call. Zar told me what was wrong and that it was a part they had to order. My car would not operate without it, so I did not really have a choice. Had he called me on Saturday and not my parents, the car would of been fixed sooner. Two days later I picked my car up, and the next day the check engine light came on. I took it to O’Reillys auto shop, and the code that came up was for the sensor I just had replaced. I took it back to mechanic one, and they told me that O’Reillys was wrong, and that it’s a completely different issue with my car. I did not want to have any more work done to my car through them, so I just came to pick up my keys. As soon as I went in my car, it reeked like cigarette smoke. I ran right back into the shop to ask why my car smelt so awful when I have never smoked a cigarette in my car. He told me that they leave the windows rolled down for all the cars in case the keys get locked inside, and the mechanic are allowed to smoke inside the shop near the cars but never in them. He told me to drive home with the windows rolled down and air it out. Keeping in minds it’s -20 degrees outside. Zar told me my car could break down at any time. So after spending over $2,000 on repairs, my car is at risk to break down at any moment. I wish I could give 0 stars.
NATS in my Nissan Versa was broken and got it fixed. Though it took fairly long time (2 working days), I was very satisfied with work done by Team Mechanic One. They ensure customers are fully informed prior to performing any work and it is done to full satisfaction. Besides, a safety inspection was also done additionally. Highly recommend this place to my friends and relatives.
Excellent auto repair shop in Michigan. Serving for a new or old car this is the best shop from my opinion. I purchased a car few month ago. I went to Mechanic one shop to service my brand new car. Mechanics checked every issues from A to Z. I just needed to change brake fluid, Put some screw, recharged AC and tighten my cars brake, even they allowed car washing facility. Highly recommended auto repair shop of all time.
Excellent communication through out the process of getting my car fixed and they worked with me to get my back to me even though there was a problem getting my payment from my end (issue with my card/banking).I will definitely bring my families vehicles here in the future for any diagnosis and repairs.
I called the shop to specifically ask for a price to have a part put on my car. The manager answered the phone he would not give his name and told me, I had to bring the car in for inspection and then we would go from there. I replied I didn’t need my car inspected I just needed a part put on then he hung up in my face. I tried calling back and he didn’t answer, so I called from a different number and he answered my phone call, I politely asked him why would he be so disrespectful hanging up in my face when I asked a simple question. He replied phone got disconnected, he also said they have a strict policy which could have been said from the get go to not waste any time. I knew he was lying so I ended it with have a blessed day. The MANAGER is TOO disrespectful and this is my first experience ? Lol no thank you I would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING THERE.
I have had several experiences with taking my vehicles to many different Auto Repair companies, but none stack up to Mechanic One. I can trust they will only do the work necessary and not try to add on. I once took my car in thinking it was time for a Brake Job, but was told there was quite a bit of time left before needing that repair. They will take care of you!
Zar and the mechanics are top notch. He saved me significant money versus the stealership and was one of the few mechanics willing to work on a diesel interference timing belt system without hesitation. Scheduling was easy and work was completed in a timely fashion (even around the holidays). Would highly recommend and I will return to them for future work.
From the minute I walked in I was impressed. The place is immaculate and the staff members made sure to answer any and all questions I had. They were all great. Zar went above and beyond to make sure the work was done just as I expected. I will definitely be back for all future work to my vehicles and gladly recommend them to anyone looking for great and honest work/service.
I took my truck into this shop because it was missing and running bad while the vehicle was in gear at a stop.Other than that it ran great! This was an intermitent problem. I also asked them to give me a price on replacing spark plugs and wires while it was there.I took it in on a Friday. They said they could check it out right away. The following Wednsday they called and said there free scan showed problems and they wanted to do a more in depth scan for $150. I okd this and then asked how much to do the plugs and wires. I was told $1400 to do plugs and wires. This put a bad taste in my mouth because I just had them done 2 or 3 years ago across the street foe $700. I said to forget the plugs and go ahead with the $150 diagnosis. the next Friday they call and said its running bad because the timing chain needs replacing to the tune of around $1700.I gave them permission to do the work. 4 or 5 days later they call and want another $300 because the timing chain guards are broken. I ok this also. They call and say the truck is done.I go and pick the truck up and 1 mile down the road the truck is smoking and smoke coming in the cab. I take the truck back and they say they had a pinched gasket but now fixed it (So they never test drove it).I pick the truck up again, drive it for a little bit and the truck acts up and starts running like a deisel motor just like when I brought it in the first time.Only now the motor seems stiff and stalls at every light. When it stalls it barely starts back up (It always started right up before and never stalled before). So over $2,000 to make the truck run worse.I take it back again. i reminded him that when I brought it in I said I thought it was an emision problem or a computor problem because it runs like a brand new motor until it decides not to.They check it out again, call me , and say , you were right, its an emmision problem. It needs O2 sensors and Mass Flow sensors replaced to the tune of around $800. I ok this work giving them a paid shot at restitution! They do the work and when I go to pick the truck up they flat out tell me this didnt fix the problem either and want to replace other sensors. I tell them no way!I pick the truck up and it barely runs and stalls at every light. Then it happened! It stalled on Ford Road during traffic and would not start. I got a jump and got it home!So I am extremely dissapointed. Prior to taking this vehicle to Mechanic One the truck was reliable. I drove it every day. Now if you drive it long enough to warm it up then it leaves you standed. Thanks Mechanic One for squeezing all you could out of my wallet and giving me nothing but problems in return.
MECHANIC ONE IS A SCAM. Tell you it’s $800 to patch up your transmission. When you & they know it needs a new transmission. Wouldn’t give me an estimate on completely replacing the trans. Says the patchwork should be done first.. They are so nice on the phone/in person you wouldn’t think they’re out to ROB YOU yet they are. Wouldn’t even trust them to put air in my tires.
BE AWARE: The claim of Free inspection is a scam, It is simply a trap. They will put your car in the lot for 20 min and come back to say they will need more analysis that cost $149 and more.I live in Canton, own 3 cars, Mechanic One will never have my business again. and below is my experience with Mechanic ONEFrom the start these folks have an appearance of been honest, free of greed and claim to provide a reasonable repair cost , until I failed into their trap.- On 11/10/18 I called Mechanic One for my Honda Odyssey Slide door issue. Zar Syed answered the call . He indicated they will conduct a thorough inspection on the failure free of charge and provide a cost of repair afterward. I drop off my car and got back home. 30 min later i got a call from Zar indicating they dont know the failure and they are going to open the slide door, it will cost me $149 they will repair but if hardware are out or order, i will have to replace them. I told him to do the best to fix anyhow.- Came back on 11/12/18 to review the repair status. Zar told me 3 parts are defective and need to be purchased. Cost $600 plus $300 labor. I google the parts and found they were available at major auto parts store ( autoZone, NAPA, Advance Auto....) about half the price of Zars dealers. Zar didnt like that claiming autozone have no warranty. Everyone knows autozone part have warranty. I told him i will buy and bring him the parts.Because of not making money out of parts purchase deals, Mechanic One refuse to perform the job but still ask me to pay $149 for inspection advertised as free. I left as i came spending $149 for no reasonTo ZAR: I gave you $149 not because i have to, but because i am not a confrontational guy. There will be a day you will face someone else not like me and that day no one will be sorry for you.
I have nothing but good things to say about Mechanic One Auto Repair. Ive been going to them since moving nearby a couple years ago. They works hard and gets me in and out with very little notice every time. Often Ill call him when Im rolling by to stop in for an oil change or random noise my car is making. They never does more than is needed, considering my car is getting older and I dont want to always fix everything... but will make recommendations if they thinks its something that cant wait, like changing my worn brake pads or bald tires, etc. The prices are fair and the service is top notch!! Today I stopped in for an oil change and to fix my headlight. I was in and out in 30 minutes and Mechanic One Auto Repair gave me cofe. since when does a mechanic ever think to do that?!? So sweet!! Thanks Mechanic One Auto Repair!!
There are two things I hate in life....paying taxes and auto repairs. Cant do much about the taxes, but for auto repairs, the guys here continue to minimize my nightmares! Had to bring the sons car in for possibly an electrical problem. Would you believe on probably one of the hottest days of the year, my son couldnt roll any of his car windows up or down! Power door locks inoperable as well...though it was just a fuse thing but turned it wasnt. Took it into Mechanic One Auto Repair in the morning and had it back in the afternoon. Turned out it was a loose connection inside the drivers door panel. I know some places would try to tell you its a major electrical problem. These guys are honest guys....I would trust them with my first born!!! The staff are super guys - honest, fast and very knowledgeable. No bsing. The best around.....you wont be disappointed!!
DO NOT take your car to Mechanic one. They can not fix a simple door. My daughter took her car there, the drivers side door would not open. Seven hours and $200.00 later, the accomplished nothing. I had the door open in 20 minutes, after I came home from work. They need to be investigated!
Got some muffler work done and I was happy with that. However they did an inspection of the vehicle and told me everything was perfect. I drive down the road and hear a noise that nobody could miss. Turns out shocks and struts needed to be replaced, brake fluid is completely black, coolant leak from the thermostat housing, and there was a misfire so I needed new plugs and wires. That is quite a lot of things to miss on even the most basic inspection. Wont be back.
This is the best auto repair shop on my opinion. The first time service is much sensitive in mechanic one auto repair shop means perfect repair that gives long lasting assurance of my cars well condition. Already hit my car 115,000+ still better service near to my location for repairing my car!Good work team...outstanding services. Thanks again.
So where do I even begin? I came across mechanic one when I got their flyer in the mail. I had called and talked to them about bringing my car in for some maintenance services (brakes, fluids etc). Upon arrival I got flagged down in the parking lot by (jamie) the oil change place next door to them. Being under the assumption that they were the same business, I had them perform the work which turned out to be a complete nightmare. Then the next day, I took my car to mechanic one and not only did they fix what next door had broken at no charge, they also went ahead and performed the repairs we had discussed over the phone.Furthermore, the owner Mike of the oil change facility next door (all in 1 oil change) has the audacity to leave mechanic one a negative review under my name.Mike, if you are reading this I hope you get arrested for identity theft for copying and pasting my review for mechanic one under MY name.
First time customer, very pleased with their work. Zar clearly explained the problem going on in language a layman like me can understand. Gave a great deal to get the job done. Also explained the potential future improvements while being realistic. A big THUMBS-UP to Zar and Mechanic One team. Will definitely return again!!
UPDATE:12/11 light came back on. The $760 repair didnt fix my concern :(. Long story short I am getting good will assistance from my vehicles OEM who are going to pay 90% of my vehicles transmission replacement cost at the dealership. I still think Mechanic One offers great communication, and good customer relationships, but I had to lower my review because I paid $760 and didnt get my concern fixed. In my opinion if a root-cause is conducted correctly the confidence in the repair should never be less than 100%. I was informed the repair done on my vehicle works 90% of the time. How unlucky that im the 10%.Im trying to tell myself that “the silver lining is that I paid money to KNOW my car needed a new transmission”, but it’s still unfortunate and hurts that all that money is gone and my car wasn’t fixed. Even tho I’m getting help from the OEM, I could have gotten that help without paying the $760. But like I said I think MO is still great with customer relationships, and communication. But just for me this one repair didn’t pan out.Engine light came on last Tuesday, got it read and it was a torque converter code. The code had “past” so i was told that means everything went back to a normal state so I got the check-engine light deactivated. One day later it came back on so decided to take it into Mechanic 1 who had ~4.4 star on google. Zar explained to me they do a “free investigation” that usually finds the problem but if not they would have to do a “deep dive” for ~$150. I appreciated the forewarning. Well to my “unluckiness” the free inspection didn’t teach the true root cause of my problem and they had to do the deep investigation. But they gave me a phone call before proceeding to let me agree/disagree to the deep dive. I appreciated the good communication. So, i agreed to deep dive and, unfortunately, I was told that I had a blockage in my trans lines and it needed like deep cleaning compared to just a typical “drain and fill” or a “flush and fill”. So I was quoted ~$760 out the door. I felt this was crazy to hear as my car is only 5yo and has ~70k miles. I reviewed the owners manual that came with my car and for “std maintenance” it doesn’t say anything until 120k miles (if I’m reading it right. Also there may be updated manuals out there as my vehicle/manual is 5yo). And i don’t drive crazy so this seemed excessive. However Zar explained why they were recommending what they were recommending, performed the fix in a timely manner, test drove it to confirm the codes didn’t come back, and overall I’d say they are very thorough. As a customer it’s hard to know when you’re being taken advantage of, but besides that paranoia they did the job in a timely manner, for a fair price I feel, and so far no code. And for that 5 stars. All I can say is, please keep up the honesty, good communication with customers on prices/expectations, and I’ll keep coming back.
This place is a total scam. Please read this review and take my advice. This place is the reason why I don’t like taking my car to a mechanic shop. I took my car there to get shaking coming from the car checked out so they took it on a test drive, when the “mechanic” got back the brakes where sqreaching... so I went ahead and let them put new brakes and turned out I needed rooters too, long story short I spent $850 on a brake job and left with my car still shaking. Couple weeks later I go to top off my windshield wiper fluid and the cap from the brake fluid was off on the side of the engine from them doing a brake flush and never put back on..... I’m totally unamused. Lesson learned to just spend the extra couple bucks and go to the dealership with ease in mind knowing everything will be done right.
I would love to come across you in my next car deal. This is by far the best foreign cars auto repair shop, well service, assurance of every work and easy to handle with. Price is also reasonable. I have got amazing experience on my first visit to this shop. Excellent Service.
Thank you for fixing my car the same day that i brought it in much appreciatededit: i had brought my car in before and was pleased with how fast they ziptied my car together. i just went back to get my brake lights fixed and my car inspected. i was told it would be an hour. an hour later i was told itd be another hour. i said id come pick my car up because i couldnt risk another hour later. i came inside and was treated extremely disrespectfully by this mike character? literally left and never going back because of you bro. like im literally sitting in the parking lot typing this because you guys literally texted my personal number asking me to leave you a review after i had already left a nice review bro like hop out of my DMs if youre not about to come thru in person as much as you want to seem like you do onlineedit x two: please check out ryans auto repair across the street!!! i was in and out in less than thirty minutes and was given amazing service and the people there were really nice to me and i very briefly saw a dog so literally five star service right there
I can strongly say that with my confidence this is a great mechanical car repair shop so far I have found near my location. I have used services very long time and all I am very satisfied with work provided. Always willing to help and works to find the best solution. I got stuck in a problem how to fix my Mazda 3 2011 and between 1500 to 1900 RPM, and it makes that noise, not terribly loud but a bit annoying. It does it especially when the engine is cold. I heard that its a common thing on Mazda 3 but no one really knew where it came from and why is this noise happening. You guys noticed and solved it nicely and now my car does not make such disturbing sound. I will must come here again if I need. Best of luck.
I was highly satisfied with the service. I usually used another place, however they were not open on Saturdays. It was the New Years weekend, they were able to find the problem, fix it the same day and the price was very reasonable. I would use them again & recommend them to anyone who needs a reliable, up front place to take their car.
This shop is a gem!Had a problem with my altima coupe because of a weird noise coming from the engine. The nice owner opened the hood found the problem, removed it and told me just to buy a new hose ( $2).He didnt charge me anything! Who does that nowadays?Highly recommended!
This is the first time Ive ever gone to an actual auto repair shop (before I had a family friend who was a mechanic) and I couldnt have picked a worse place. I originally took my car in on 7/30/16 because it was leaking power steering fluid and they said it was because of the hoses which would take til Monday morning (8/1/16) and be finished around 10am. Its noon on Monday and I havent even received a call.So I give them a call and then tell me its taking awhile due to the rust. It doesnt take away from the fact they couldve let me know what they were doing seeing as they were late. They call back an hour later (the only time they ever called me back over the course of this repair) later saying they have to replace my rack & pinion and that its gonna be around $1,140 to do and that itll be done Tuesday morning around 9am (8/2/16). I had to call off work on Tuesday since I had no means of getting there. So I call on Tuesday around noon since I havent received a call yet they tell me its gonna take another day to do even though they told me it would be done that morning. They say itll be done at the end of the day. I call back again later that day and then they tell me itll be done tomorrow morning.I call on Wednesday around 2pm and they say they still arent done and that itll take til the end of the day. I call around 5 which is an hour before they close and they say the same thing as before oh itll be done tomorrow morning. Are you noticing a pattern? This call marks the first time theyve apologized too.I say to them that Im missing work and then he says something that was such a slap in the face. He says you can rent a car and if you bring us the bill well cover $30 off. Not the entire bill, only $30. So theyre telling me since they arent done when they say they are I should spend even MORE money and that theyll cover a super small portion of the bill. Ridiculous. So I call around 3pm today (8/4/16) and they finally say itll be done today. When I go in and pay for it I ask if I can receive any sort of discount for the delay and the inconvenience its caused me and he says theres nothing he can do. He brings up again how if I rented a car that they wouldve covered $30 of it. Instead of making things right he basically says well its not our fault you didnt rent a car and pay more money because of the delay were causing you.Ill never do business with these guys ever again. I would go as far as to have my car towed to my original mechanic (which is 50 miles away) just because I know he would never leave me in the dark on the repair or give me a date when itd be done only to delay it even further. I have no idea how these guys manage to have a five star rating.EDIT 8/11: So in addition to everything else I mentioned my wheel alignment is also completely screwed up, my wheel is constantly always turned to the right even when Im driving straight. And Ive had my car back for a week now and the other day I started hearing loud rattling from underneath my car, yeah quality service alright. I got my car back fixed but now with two problems that werent there before.
I can no longer recommend this garage for service, they will do pretty much anything to make more money. I was told a repair would be 3-4 hours when it was easily done in 30 minutes somewhere else, always upselling.Update: Just so everyone knows, they said they would reach out over 3 months ago, still nothing. Beware!
Not only are they good at what they do, they also have character. My vehicle needed more time than anticipated and while this was causing me a little inconvenience, Zar offered me to use the shuttle vehicle and also waived the labor charges. Neil made sure he did a few extra test drives to make sure the job was done right and it was. Thank you Zar, Neil and all at Mechanic One, I am sold!
Provides you with a 35 percent off coupon then doesnt let you use it on your bill. Had to take a lyft to pick up my car thinking I could ise the coupon then when I got there they wanted to hold my car hostage and told me I could go home to get more money and come back. Then the rude front desk employee that seemed like he just wanted to joke with his buddies in the back didnt like that I insisted on using a valid coupon he went to call the owner. After getting off the phone with the owner they STILL didnt honor their coupon and just said theyd take the 300 I brought with me instead of the 350 my bill was susposed to be. This shop just wants to take advantge of you. They said free insepection to figure out the problem but that turned into a 350 charge to look into it further. They should be very clear about the terms and conditions of their coupon if they are going to try and hold you vehicle hostage of you dont bring enough money.Edit: After this horrible experince I decided to get a second opinion thank god I did turns out the diagnosis I got that my transmission was bad was completely wrong. I tool my car to a transmission specialist and tjey saod there is nothing wrong with my trans the clicking noise is coming from my exhaust vibrating. Also I have a clutch fan thats going out. So in short this shop tried to scam me into getting unessecary work done. BEWARE
This is HANDS DOWN the BEST auto shop place in the canton, plymouth, livonia, westland, northville area! No one else knows how to work on foreign cars around here, seriously. I found Mechanic One Auto Repair by driving around, and when I saw their wrench I started doing some research online. Take my advice on it, I have been EVERYWHERE with my car nearby and it has been nothing but nightmares. Come here for anything regarding your car are you will get quality service at a very reasonable price as well as an honest opinion.
Andrew the manager was so incredibly helpful on the phone explaining why a P07 CEL code appeared after I purchased a remanufactued transmission from another shop. Above and beyond in helping me out especially since my trans wasnt purchased through them. If my issue isnt covered under my previous shops warrenty I will be taking my car straight to them.
Went in to get a squeeking noise fixed on my old toyota. 5 star service the entire way through, in contact all the next day and had the car ready for after work. Thank you guys for treating our old cars with the same dedication and respect of all the newer ones ;)I will definitely be back
Do not go here they are not honest people. I talked to Andrew more than once so I make sure I understood what they were going to do for the amount of money but when I went to pay Andrew wasnt there Im disabled cannot be without a car because I cannot walk without a walker or a car. When I complained when he came back to work after I pick up my car his lovely response was Well you signed for the car. I told him that was no excuse I had to have my car thats why I came to you but what difference does that make you quoted me one price and they charged me a different price I believe they call that bait and switch. I call it playing.
Please disregard a review left under my name that All in 1 oil change had copied and pasted under my name for mechanic one. It’s really sad that such nice people have to be next door neighbors to the biggest crooks in the world. The oil change place next door to them (all in 1 oil change) is not the same as them. Please know the difference and save yourself a whole world of trouble.
I had the best experience with Mechanic One, zar and his team did an amazing job changing all the break pads for my LandRover , I was there two days in a row and they were very friendly and patient and they did a complete check to my car to ensure all the safety factors, thank you guys you are the best.
WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, Took my Bmw in for a simple trunk repair, they charged me 443.00 to change a small motor in the trunk and did not even know how to code it properly, I still have the same problems I had when I took it in . DO NOT BRING A BMW HERE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. IF YOU GUYS DONT KNOW HOW TO DO SOMETHING YOU SHOULDNT DO IT. FUNNY YOU DONT REMEMBER A CAR THAT WAS IN YOUR GARAGE TODAY CHECK YOUR RECORDS AGAIN YOU GUYS ARE LIARS , I HAVE A RECEIPT. I WILL SEE YOU IN COURT. YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN BUISNESS.
First...I took my car in there at noon, I called prior and the guy told me they were slow and it was a good time to bring my car in. I went home and waited for a phone call to see what was wrong and they never called. I called at 3:30 like hey has anyone looked at it? The guy gave me some brush off answer and said they’d call me when they looked at it. I knew they closed at 6 so when it got to 5:15 and I still hadn’t heard anything I called again and whomever answered the phone had an attitude like we said we would call you. Like hell you have had my car all day and people have lives and jobs...the car had been there for over 5 hours how has no one looked at it?? So basically I just went to pick it up and when I got there they gave me some $1800 price of all kinds of things I needed to fix. Needless to say, I got some great work done elsewhere for less than half the price. I will not be returning.
This place is literally horrible. They take advantage of girls by underestimating their intelligence when it comes to cars, therefore up charging customers and not repairing vehicles to their full extent. Workers and owner are very disrespectful, smoke cigarettes on the site, and talk down on younger customers, treating them as childreren rather than young adults.

2022-02-23Took my car here after being told nothing was wrong with it at another mechanic, they were able to figure out the problem with my transmission and did an amazing job replacing it! Took longer than expected but due to short staffing and a large repair job, it was understandable. The only thing was when I received my car, the steering wheel had oil on it and the backseat and back doors were covered in some type of mud stain (that still hasn’t come out) :( Although they did a great job and offered to detail it, the fact that they were okay giving me the car in that shape makes me question if I would come back here.

2022-04-01Zar and his staff were very thorough and hospitable from the first moment i walked into his shop. I had a previous shop incorrectly install my shocks and was not trying to refund me for faulty work. They assessed the issue, fully explained everything happening to my car and allowed gave me my options. They followed up with me daily until the job was done. This service was amazing! I definitely will be coming back for future repairs. One of the best experiences Ive had getting work done on a car. Thanks guys!

2022-03-17The team at Mechanic one are fantastic. This has to be the most professional shop I’ve been too. Ty filled me in on what needed to be done step by step. They called with updates. Got my car back today and it’s running great. I would highly recommend.

2022-06-24Mechanic One has great customer service. I had brake/rotor repair and they had explained and showed me exactly what needed to be done. This is my second time having work done at Mechanic One and would recommend anyone to check them out. Zar had reached out the next day to make sure everything was working well. That shows they care about the customers!!! 100% Satisfied

2022-04-11Brought a BMW in for a pre-purchase inspection. They have an easy online service and estimate portal. They brought the car in without an appointment. Gave it a full assessment and gave me their opinion about potentially purchasing the car. They followed up with a written estimate for all issues to be resolved. They were responsive to answer any follow-up questions I had. Would recommend. 👍🏼

2022-04-11The representatives are very kind, caring and dedicated to their customers. I have gone here several times and they have provided impeccable, timely service. Their communication after the repairs to assure your satisfaction with the repairs supersedes any auto service experience I have ever gotten and shows that they truly care about their customers. Great team!!

2022-04-20Excellent customer service from Zar and Ty. Would definitely go back as they’re hands down the best repair facility in the Canton area. Don’t waste your time with those other shops that are too busy. They took my car in and told me exactly what was wrong. I authorized the work and the car was done the following day with no issues at all. I’m 100% satisfied with the work performed.

2022-01-24My experience here was above average. The mechanics were nice and did a great job of diagnosing my issue. It was done in roughly an hour which is quick and they got back to me to tell me the issue. The only problem I had was the $300 diagnostic bill. Most mechanics I know charge around $100 an hour for a diagnostic. The $300 works well if they are diagnosing something that takes aroubd 3 hours to diagnose but if not, you are paying alot of money in my opinion. They did offer discounts if I chose to use their service to repair, but it would have been quite expensive.Personally, the owner is nice and mechanics are good, but as a college student, I cant afford a $300 diagnostic every time I have an issue with my car so Im not sure if Id come back but only for that reason.
