Meijer in other cities:
Overall a fairly nice experience. One of the workers came up to me and my two friends and asked us if we needed help. I would put 5 stars, however, it was fairly busy and the lines for checkout were long. There were only 2 lanes open. I understand this may be lack of employees, but I saw that there were roughly 2 or 3 employees per check out line.
I shop at this Meijer the most as its closest to my home. But also because the employees are usually nice and helpful. They are well-stocked. The only thing that would be a bonus is to assign two employees at the customer service counter more often. Many people return bottles here and sometimes guests with only bottle slips end up behind someone with returns and there is only one employee waiting on guests. There is one lady at customer service who is very nice, though and quick to help next guest.
Very pleased with the selection, layout, and quality of produce especially. The line length was insane, but with a shortage of workers right now I know its not their fault. The cashier had a great attitude and made it easy to stay cheerful. Would definitely recommend!
Woke policies have lead to both an unsafe working and shopping experience alike. The store policy seems to be send unarmed women to fight the constant safety threat these poor employees go through on a day to day basis. The store director would rather ramp up production and worry about his 80s p-rns💫 appearance than worry about the safety of those who make sure theres food on thier table. Not to mention... the man let politics enter his workspace over and over fanning the flames of violent altercations.Bout as good as a look as the congressman miejer this location is🤷♂️
Great place to shop for All occasions. I would highly recommend people to shop there. I just love the place. People help you youre all the department. Great smiles and tremendous workmanship and their excellent and theyre clean. I cant wait to see our one here look nice
I love Meijer however they really need to bring more cashiers back at least on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Im glad to see that they have also brought back baggers to the stores. I feel less stress trying to put my groceries up on the belt, listen to the cashier and trying to bag before I have to pay. Awesome 👍
Pretty epic location when you consider the surrounding area. It has the one of the cleanest restrooms in the area and hey, thats enough for me right there!Self checkout is always fast, mainly b/c I am awesome quick! But hey they DO provide the environment in which I am able to push my own checkout speeds to its limits.
Meyer is the worst place to work the management team and is not understanding to employees medical condition they fire you and I dont even ask twice about what is going on in your person personal medical history I feel sorry for anyone who has medical problems and work there because they dont ask you whats going on theyre just easy to fire you on the spot without checking and seeing as youre okay and what is going on in your life I feel so sorry for the employees who work there Im so glad I am no longer part all the Meijer team and I hope anyone who has medical condition work there because theyre not understanding the anything of the sort. Do not work there the company is a joke.
Quality produce, great selections on everything. Awesome ethinc food aisle! Great wine/beer/liquor selection. Brand spankin new pop bottle machines may 2017, best ever! Store is always clean and well stocked! Much better than the competition across Henry St!Update 2022: the store was redesigned. Feels swankier inside. Pop bottle machines still the best in town. I dont recommend turning in on a Monday during summer....
The lady at the door accused me of having a return and followed me around the store just because I was looking in my purse when I walked in. Then she watched me and my man check out at the self scan and talked to the cashier and he stood directly next to us when we were checking out and we werent even done and he was asking if we were going to pay for the rest of our things. I was appalled and felt discriminated against and completely disrespected! I wont spend a dollar at this Meijer again!
This store can be for some products a little bit more expensive than Walmart but it is worth it because they have all the baking products I need. And it is very clean and the employees are very polite. They also have a lot of lanes open when you go to cash out. I really do appreciate that.
If I could give this place a negative star I would. I arrived to return my empty soda bottles. The return room was a disaster. No machines were working. Took over 20 minutes for a clerk to clear the machines. The floor was gummy and stuck like it hadnt been cleaned for a week. Filthy grime in the corners. I wish there was soon decent competition for these folks. Wear a hazard suit to return your bottles.
I would give them 5 Stars, BUT I have the same problem with them as I do with Walmart!! I DONT USE SELF CHECK OUTS very often AT ALL any more!! I put off going to the store until I HAVE TO, and by then I have to buy more items than are allowed in the self checkout anyway!! So I find myself in one of THE FEW LANES OPEN, with AT LEAST 4 IF NOT 5 LOADED CARTS in the line ahead of me!! I am disabled and I cant stand that long without my BACK HURTING!! On top of that, WHO TRAINS THE CASHIERS TO BAG 🤔 the items anymore?????! Do they realize that SOAP ITEMS SCENTS are ABSORBED by BAKED GOODS???!!! And who really wants to WIPE OFF ALL THIER CANNED GOODS when they get home because someone put them in a bag with a package of bloody chicken (that should have been double bagged anyway?)!NOT ENOUGH CASHIERS, THAT ARENT TRAINED RIGHT!! (Some of them ARE, but the new ones are NOT!!)
Went here after work to grab a few things for Easter. Was suprised how several end caps were empty and areas that were half stocked. Then there was a manager telling the stocking crew just hurry up and finish and just pull things forward dont worry about filling everything. I think the stocking crew needs both better management and time management....
The store itself is fine, but they consistently have far too few registers open. 23 registers and there are only 3 open with lines out into the aisle. Its ridiculous. Edit: They brought back the self checkout, so while there still are not enough registers open most of the time, at least I can do it myself. Bumped from 2 to 3 stars.
Went in looking for a radio and and batteries for the radio. The older lady in the electronic department was incredibly rude. I asked her if she had a certain type of battery and where it was, she looked at me and stared. Didn’t say a word. So incredibly disappointed.
Dunt dunt duuuntttttt...... Retail stores, dept stores, grocery stores, all mean lots of Joe Q. Public coming and going. Hopefully I wont ever have to walk into the store and hear about So and sos Mom and Dad going at it all day long again. Isnt Meijer a family store? Conversations should be ones kept in a civilized manner...
Shop here for groceries all the time! Great value & prices. Yesterday I got my Covid vaccine here. Registered online for appt. Answered in 3 days. Received my appt for the next week. Very well organized. Filled out paper in line, by the time I was done..ready for vaccine. Waited 15 min after shot & then did grocery shopping. Easy-Peasy!
My sister went in to get a money order and the cashier kept stating, her card was declined, after 3 attempts, my sister asked her to stop. We left and went to the bank and my sister got her money with no problem. I take it that this particular staff person did not know what she was doing. But this is not a reflection of the Meijer store for bad service, just that staff member. Meijer is an awesome store and customer service is great
Good customer service but Highly advise you stay away around night time. the floor walkers are on a mission and they have a way of making you feel uncomfortable. I had one follow me for a good 20 minutes til I got in line and proceeded to get in line with me. They shouldnt be so aggressive!
This Meyer is a nice supermarket. I was really impressed at how friendly the employees where. I was greeted warmly by several employees while walking through the store. And it wasn’t just your typical Walmart greeter style “hello” but actually someone stopping, making eye contact, and speaking with you.I really didn’t notice anything else that seemed super amazing about the store, except that the employees were very friendly and they.
I bought a cell phone from here about a week ago and came back to get a case for it. The lady at the back counter where I purchased my cell said We dont sell cases for the phones we sell which seemed odd to me so I asked if she knew why they sold cases for the new iPhones (I didnt buy one of those~too much for my small budget, lol)and didnt sell iPhones yet sell the kinda cell I purchased but not the cases then?It seems strange to sell phones but no matching cases and cases but no matching phones. She repliedI really dont know.Im busy looking after this section and the toy section and dont have time to find out right now which to me seemed rude so I simply set down my stuff I was gonna purchase there, turned away and went to get groceries at Walmart.Nothing against Meijer, just against that particular worker.I didnt report her rudeness cuz she may be having a bad day but they lost my business that particular day due to her attitude.
Ultimately I do a lot of my shopping here so Ill give 3 stars. I do think Meijer has the best variety in the area. Their sale items are fairly priced. The convenience of having home goods is nice.As someone who has lived in 6 states and has shopped at dozens of big name grocery stores, I honestly think Meijer is my least favorite. Its impersonal, unwelcoming, slightly over priced, the least coupon friendly. Sale items are always out of stock. Meijer is by far the least kid friendly. I used to go after I put the kids to bed but evening (8:00pm on) shopping is impossible due to the mess made for stocking shelves. If Meijer wants to improve on any of these things, I suggest they look to Kroger as an example of perfection. They have kid carts, car carts for kids to drive, free balloons for kids, carts go right up to cashier so you dont have to unload. Employees dont treat you like you ruined their day... they help you to your car. Coupons are doubled... Just a few of the things I miss while shopping.
Yes, I shop here often. Not liking that more check out lines are being taken away. Not everybody cares to go to check yourselves out line. I happen to like talking to a person who checks me out. Having to wait for someone to the lines where you check yourselves out are a pain in the behind. Customer service is better for most of the people I know who shop in stores. I have noticed the changes and many friends and I are discussing on going else where to shop if more self checkouts are installed. Not happy with Meijers lately. I think all registers should have cashiers ready at all times to service customers. Please reconsider.
They had so many dead fish and just shouldnt be allowed to sell them, I seen 2 bettas dead in the small bowls they keep them in for so long the water had turned cloudy, their were also clumps of dead fish in iver crowded tanks its a great store for clothes and food but they should not be responsible for live animals.
Went to pick up a few items, hard to find some things as Im new to this area and this Meijers setup, so I need to learn where everything is. Plus right now I dont want to spend the extra time just browsing. I found what I needed in short order and was out of there after waiting on line for a little bit.
Bought an item online, was surprised when I realized Meijer uses a third party to fulfill online orders, with an additional charge. The instructions stated I would receive a text from my “shopper” setting up a time and details. I never received a text. I went to the store, but the customer service desk had no idea of the process or what to do because it’s a third party. I called the customer service number and was told my item was being picked up by my shopper and to await a text. I never received a text, later that night my order was cancelled with no additional correspondence as to why. Considering how other stores do online orders this is the clunkiest and worst option among any major retailer. I will not buy online again though meijer .
Shelves werent stocked good on a Friday morning no betty crocker au graten potatoes or imperial margarine folgers coffee was sparse l had to try a different brew of it. Lines were long only had 4cashiers working from the time we got in line until done checking out took 1hour.
It was a quick trip other than deciding or kind of liquor I wanted. Got the food I wanted. And they had lines and all the automatic payment areas open, unlike that place across the street where no matter how not busy it is you have to wait for the one line. Of course across the street at that big w Mart It doesnt matter if theres two people in front of you is still takes a half hour. Thats why I go to Meijer.
Always can find what you need at Meijer. clothing, outdoor furniture, toys, flowers, always fresh and pretty, shoes, cooking utensils, food, and to many other items to mention.I like to shop the produce at Meijers, it is always fresh andalot of produce to choose from.always friendly staff and are ready to help you when help is needed. check it out. great place to shop. I shop Meijers at least 2 times a week.
Love meijer don’t get me wrong but I went to go get fish there on Valentine’s Day and I saw 4+ dead fish in the goldfish fish tank and so I got 2 of the bigger goldfish next door since non were dead in there and I brought them home but Please meijer take better care of your fish
This is my go to shopping place. They have everything! The produce here is so fresh! The bakery is great and full of friendly staff. Groceries, pharmacy, pet supplies, gardening supplies, deli, crane game, mechanical pony, multiple bathrooms (even a family one), bank, shoes, clothes, baby supplies, photo development, flowers, balloons...
Had a terrible experience with Laura, who cashed us out at the register today. We bring our own bags and bag our own items all the time. She went way to fast for us to keep up and food was falling on the ground as I tried to keep up. It was quite obvious that we were having a hard time and yet she proceeded to pile the items on top of each other. I’ve never had a problem with the gals at the register until now. Very disappointed with our last visit and how inconsiderate Laura was.
While, I like their selection of products over all too many times they are out of stock on the sale items. It doesnt seem to matter when you shop there for them either. They really need to have enough of a product to support their sales. It is very disappointing to shop there only to find out they dont have the things I am shopping for.I have over 20 years experience in retail sales, marketing and advertising.
Meijer has always been a really good company and store, but the staff an management is really rude. I was there window shopping for a couple hours and the manager was following me around everywhere, I eventually put down a product I was going to buy before going to the restroom. when I got out of my stall the manager was there and accused me of stealing he called the cops and told me to leave. He followed me all the way out, I didnt steal anything, and he harassed me. Also a time before that I was offering to help the elderly with their groceries when they made me leave for opposedly soliciting when I wasnt, all I want doing was trying to help.
Let me start off by saying normally, Meijer is my favorite place to shop but unfortunately I made a horrible choice and tried to place a curb side pickup on there website and what a terrible mistake that was. Slow, constantly reloading of the page when you remove or add an item, complicated to navigate, sales not reflecting and by the time I finally placed my order my pickup was pushed to the following day! When I called the store Jenny in curbside had a wretched attitude and told me to “just cancel my order then.” I will NEVER spend a dime of my money at Meijer again because of this experience! Meijer get it together because this is completely unacceptable.
Like any other super store, you can find just about anything in a Meijer. They have more organic selections that other super store. And the prices are pretty fair. The staff here was friendly. The store was relatively clean and picked up (not that it can ever be perfect as long as customers are making messes). But it was clean and organized so customers could find what they needed. Would always go back to a Meijer. Highly recommend.
I have shopped at Meijer ever since i was on my own 18 years old am 70 i dont and wont shop at any shopping center got everything here been class A in my life keep up the good work hey i see a Meijer Shopping Center going up in Fremont so cool a long time coming but am loving great for the area supper again keep up the good work
Been shopping with Fred Meijer my whole life. This is a very nice store for all your needs open 24 hours a day however there is no returns or exchanges after 10 p.m. which kind of sucks I feel if a store going to sell things 24 hours a day they should also do the business of returns 24 hours a day. There has been some harassment out in the parking lot with people trying to scam customers for money. Great produce and meat department also seafood and lots of liquor and Wine beer choices.
Ive always been a loyal Wal-Mart shopper, but recently switched to shopping at Meijer. Love the fresh produce selection. Some items are more pricey, but well worth it for the customer satisfaction and having more than 3 check out lanes open at a time. Plus, with Mperks and deals you can save a lot of money.
I dont think this store even deserves a whole star .I have gone there three times in last month to by food for my dog and they have not had the kind of food that I was looking for.I talked to someone from the pet department and they told me they were getting some in a shipment the next day and they told me someone would call me when it came in. Well no phone call and I tried to call them no one answered the phone. I called again and they transfer me to the pet department and surprise, surprise I get transferred back to customer service and they hang up on me .

2022-04-25Just went in really quick to buy some swimwear for myself and my boys, a couple books, and toys for my toddler. It was clean, their were employees everywhere, which I love, all the checkout and self checkout lines were open, fast enough for me to not get left by my cab driver. 5 stars 🌟 and no complaints.

2022-05-27Everything I want or need. Almost ;-). Standard McDs menu. It was clean. Good counter help. My burger was just right. True Love asked for no onions but they forgot. Always love the McDonalds fries - they remind me of our dating days. Ice tea is good and Im hard to please with tea .

2022-04-24I dont like what Meijer has become. The machines arent good, tried to put a dollar in 6 different times and wouldnt take it. Even the employee said the machines arent good and are poor quality. Was a perfectly good dollar. Then half the machines for the toys are out of order and completely stole my quarters. The layout is too small in the isles now which makes it very uncomfortable for customers. Seems extremely dry in the store and I get irritated after only 5 minutes now. Also the prices of items has gotten to be unfair and overpriced. I am not the only one who thinks this either. It just doesnt feel like a family owned business anymore. It feels purely corporate and lacks the beautiful feeling that shopping at Meijer once gave you. I just prefer Walmart now. I give it 2 stars.

2022-03-30This store is very nice and clean! Plus its only 4 blocks from my house. The only thing I didnt like was couldnt find a fitting room or any employee s to ask for help, I was looking at jeans.

2022-03-24Ive gone weekly for my groceries, toiletries, and household needs over the past few years. While the store is always clean, the checkout lines are always long and the shelves are still bare time and time again. You can walk down an aisle and at least a quarter of the aisle is completely barren. Its unfortunate because some of our family staples are no longer carried or I cant find them at this location for months at a time. The cashiers and baggers are also hit and miss, sometimes theyre extremely pleasant while other times you can tell they dont want to be there or theyre more interested in carrying on about the grocery gossip, which to be honest, if Im not in a hurry, I dont always mind. Its like a soap opera sometimes, ha. All in all, Ive gone back and will continue to do so.

2022-05-28After a period of waiting for a bottle return machine to open up. I took my slip inside and was on my way back out cash in hand in less than 1 minute while I also had the pleasure of being coached on how to use the machine. Thank you to the Meijer team as a whole for a quick and pleasant experience.

2022-06-27Employees not allowed to help you due to policies? Items you waited for them to open for locked behind a glass door in an unrelated section? Havent restocked the things you buy for the last 5 years? Self-checkout lane blocked by a giant refrigerated display?Just walk across the street to the real store, blue and yellow, that isnt horribly mismanaged. This place is just a waste of time.

2022-04-21The electronic shopping carts could use a little more attention, brought in from the parking lot. It was a long line at the self-checkout Corral and difficult for a wheelchair user to navigate through. He only had a few items and did not want to go through a cashier lane. Because there were only two open in several customers already in line.

2022-06-04The Frozen Section was confusing. I think they have changed the I aisle Signs Above to match what is in each freezer as of 6-3-22. I couldnt find a couple of Items that Walmart always carries, An I know I was in the Correct Aisle. But on a positive note I am always Impressed with Meijers Fresh Fruits & Veggies!!!
