Meijer in other cities:
This review is specifically related to one of your employees, Elizabeth K., who was working the self check-outs on Tuesday, January 4th. Probably 1/3 of my items werent scanning, issues with the bar codes, and then when it came time for me to use my coupons, none of them were scanning as the ink was too light on them. She came over and helped me ring up the items 2 or 3 different times, and then came back over to manually enter all my coupons (I had a quite a few...sorry!). Anyway, she was so kind and helpful, and it was busy and she had customers yelling left and right for her assistance, yet she didnt let that bother her kind attitude. She was so wonderful and didnt make me feel like she was annoyed by helping me with all of my issues. I really hope someone sees this and acknowledges her hard work and kind personality. Thank you Elizabeth!
This location has had stocking issues long before 2020 that were much worse than the other local stores. Even way back in 2018 they would just run out of our diapers for months and always ran out of sale items like they didnt know how to order or something. I could always get what I needed in Grand Haven or Muskegon. Even now, with all the shortages, those stores are so much better. Friends and family refer to this as the bad Meijer. Now that we occasionally use grocery pickup there is a difference between that here and at other stores. I just dont understand why? Its hard because we live closest to here, but find ourselves driving further regularly.
Meijer has continued to reduce the amount lanes they have open with real human cashiers. They had three opened when I was there and they have all their self service lanes open with a lot of people waiting for those. I would hope they would open more lanes when people are waiting to the length of time they are. Meijer has made more money off customers ringing up and bagging their own groceries than they would admit. So if at all possible, I would use a person to check out groceries with, if I were you.
Meijer has the cleanest store and the absolutely the best produce than any other store around! When you combine Mperks and Meijer credit card deals, you save a lot of money! They have baggers in the regular lanes and added more self check out lanes. They also added scan & go for Smart phones. They recently added the option to purchase as you clip coupons. Meijer is working hard to keep store clean & as stocked as possible! To me Meijer is the BEST place to shop!
If youre looking for food, household supplies, health and beauty products, a garden center, automotive supplies - this is the place. Theres more but who can name it all? Oh...technology, gaming, sporting goods, and a top rate pharmacy.. The parking is well lit, the cashiers are friendly and efficient, and the store is clean. I prefer shopping at the one on Harvey St., but theres also one on Henry Street and in North Muskegon.
I didnt like how the food was located. Made it a little confusing for first time shoppers there, which i was, out near the Lakes Mall in Muskegon. Prices seemed high, but I am a thrifty shopper. The aisles seemed a little low in inventory, and being such a big store, there was only 2 cashiers. The rest was self check out, and only 1 would check out alcohol. But, I do love their bottle return area. Great machines, usually all working, and a clean area.
One of the best run stores in the Meijer franchise. The selection, here, is better and service is on target. Tesla charging stations outside and many other retailers and restaurants nearby for one-stop shopping. Meijer runs a tighter ship than most retailers and it shows.
Several times I have been here and the lines were backed up much longer than they should be. It seems that management doesnt consider that some groceries require refrigeration and that if you have ice cream in your cart and have to wait 30 minutes to check out because there are more than 40 customers trying to check out with only 3 lanes open that is a problem and when I did ask the managers what was going on they once replied with sorry, we have too many people on break and lunch right now there is nothing I can do almost as if they didnt realize what MANAGERS are meant to do. I have started going to other stores because I am tired of all the inconveniences. When I were younger there used to be more than 10 lanes open at the same time with cashiers AND DEDICATED BAGGERS. You wouldnt spend more than 5 minutes in lines but now because of corporate greed we all put up with this, WELL I WILL NOT. There are small businesses not doing this all so that a CEO can have a 3rd vacation home in Italy.
The prices are a bit above my favorite stores, but they have an awesome selection of hard-to-find ingredients for my occasional new menu experiments. They also have some really great specials...a couple of weeks ago I stocked up on veggies and fruits for less than my traditional stores.
I went to get sweet tango apples. I picked up 2 bags because I know the stores are going to run out soon. The self checkout lines were very full but the regular line had a opening. I grabbed my bag( I thought) but when I got home one of my sweet tango apples bags was missing. My husband was able to go back to the store and get the missing item without problem.
I love meijers. By far the cleanest and best stocked store we have in Muskegon. I would give 5 stars If they would have their dressing rooms open. They are the only store Ive been in recently that I cant try clothes on. My only option is to buy clothes in various sizes then take them home to try on. Hopefully Ill remember to return them but sometimes Ill forget so I have various clothes that dont fit with the tags still on them. Huge inconveince from some people.
It’s a shame that something is happening at my local Meijer. When the store opened some years ago it was always fully stocked. Fast forward to a year ago, I noticed that the shelf’s were not always stocked and favorite items no longer carried. Now to this morning (1/17/21), shelf’s are empty and not stocked, for example, coffee mate creamer I usually buy not not been there for 1-1/2 months, Pillsbury rolls completely empty, packaged salad 🥗 mixes gone. All of this was at 8:00 am. I would go on but what’s the use. Meijer was my favorite store but it sadly has slipped in the most important aspect; Customer Service, 3-lanes open and congested. That last part has been a systematic thing going on for years there. So I will take my business elsewhere where it’s appreciated. Meijer we had a 30 plus year relationship but you’ve changed and not for the better.
They are as bad as Walmart only three lanes open that arent self serve and the self serve are for small orders. At least Walmart has conveyor belts for larger quantities!!!!! My experience was a nightmare to say the least and I traveled to far to ever put myself through this again.
Great selection. Produce kept well stocked. Store always clean. Employees courteous. The checkout lines can be long sometimes, but just tried their new shop and scan app that allows for bypassing the regular checkout in favor of the quicker 20 items lanes. Easy to use. Its my new way to shop!
No grapefruit juice. Not any brands. The stockboy kindly looked for me and asked the person who orders who informed us that it is no longer being ordered. I drink this in place of taking meds for my manageable cholesterol. This is a big deal for me. Shelves are poorly stocked, kind of sparse.
Today is March 18, 2021 and I recently visited this store location to pick up my son the brand new Playstation 5, and I was of course waiting in line and knowing the rules and was acknowledged that it was 1 per household I knew I was going to get one from my placement in line. While I was patiently waiting in line I noticed that the employee who was working (Cody) sold a multiple PlayStations to one family, which was 3; I tried to tell him about the situation about how the rules stated that it says 1 per household and he smart mouthed me as he proceeded to say the transaction went through I can’t do nothing about it. I felt like I was lied to as a person. I definitely would not come back here unless they step up their rules and make sure they are enforced when it’s something that is high demand. I would rate this store location a 0 if I could but I’m giving them a lucky 1.
Been awhile since Ive been here.... needed vinegar to make pickles.... the only aisle it is found on is the laundry aisle, and its labeled cleaning vinegar $3.59 for a gallon of vinegar, that, although labeled with food grade ingredients, wasnt purchasable with my EBT food card!! What a rip off!!!
Excellent selection of products and good prices. Produce is fresh and most other things I have purchased here have met or exceeded expectations. Although I have yet to purchase anything from their little restaurant next to the deli. When having a sale, the sales are also usually very good. The shelves mostly stay stocked, even during sales and the meijer associates are always willing to help. This review applies primarily to the grocery section of the store, as that is the part of the store where I usually shop when in this store
This store gets worse and worse every time I come in here. I waited one time over 20 mins for some help in the pet section and have waited in lines for over 20 mins while employees stand around doing nothing. IF YOU DONT HAVE ENOUGH EMPOLYEES CLOSE YOUR DOORS UNTIL YOU DO!!!! Ive never seen such a poorly run store
We dont have this Meijer chain in California. I work for a MI company and travel here regularly now. Meijer has become my go to place for nearly everything. From pharmacy to household goods to clothing to groceries - the stores are well stocked, organized, and clean. Plenty of friendly helpful staff. Checkout is usually fast. This place is way better than the big warehouse and membership club stores.
Most of the time I love Meijer, I have went since I was a little child. I would go with my Dad and Mom. They shop most everyday. Its always clean and the food is fresh. I buy just about everything they carry. I love sales and rewards and coupons if I dont forget them lol.
The Pharmacy at this location is probably the worst Pharmacy Ive ever dealt with. Multiple times Ive called ahead to make sure something is filled (because their phone app. doesnt work half the time) and show up and its not filled. Theyve billed the wrong insurance multiple times because my husband and father-in-law have similar names (Junior and Senior). Dont plan on it being fast, either-- plan on waiting at least 30 minutes. Avoid this pharmacy like the plague, the benefits you earn on Mperks arent worth the hassle!
Mike C, the manager at the fish counter, was in a bad mood. He seemed agitated and made me feel like he didnt want to assist in my request. His tone and body language made me uncomfortable. Thankfully another worker was willing to be accommodating to get what I needed.
This Meijer location has really gotten sloppy over the past few years. Ive been driving past here to work for years, and I have become gradually less and less impressed with it.In the past, the employees were agreeable and helpful. Now the words that come to mind are awkward and untrained on a good day, and snippy and mean on a bad day. Ive always treated retail employees with respect and dignity, and the same would be pleasant in return. The store used to be quite friendly to people with unconventional schedules, and the long self checkouts were a lifesaver if you needed to grab some groceries after a super late shift. They removed those, and the employees operating the small self checkouts act like its a burden to have to assist a customer with their gimmicky terminals. There are rarely any manned checkout lanes open during off hours and during peak hours, maybe 3 or 4 are open.I just get the impression that most of the employees do not care. There are a few cashiers and stockers who are pleasant and helpful. I will wait in a longer line to deal with one of them, or avoid one of the cashiers who is outwardly unkind to other customers.Meijer, you got comfortable with your status as at least it aint Wal Mart but youre really about to lose it.
Great environment people can be friendly a couple of the managers are great a couple are not. I once overheard a cashier ask a manager to use the bathroom and the cashier was quite adamant that she had to go now, the manager just told her to deal with it age failed to get her the proper coverage
Waited all year for cyber Monday sales paid for a TV online yesterday at 1 PM and found out that they’re out of stock at 10 PM so much for cyber Monday deals for me thanks for nothing MeijerBye.Kiss my $200 a week in grocery bye-byeCustomers are not the priority when I asked And associates about the TV he said sorry it was out of stock I was trying to buy probably the most expensive thing in the store and they could care lessUpdate— Constantly out of stuff that other stores stock so they can’t blame it on Covid the store has fallen apart Covid destroyed this store. STOCK STUFF.But yet you’ll see the manager stocking candy while the rest of the store struggles
It is 7pm 2 weeks before Christmas and there is 3 registers open!!!! Lines backed up into the clothes department yet there are employees wandering through the store doing absolutely nothing. Get it together meijer. Seriously. The busiest time of the year and the busiest time of the day when everyone is getting off of work. Hope my ice cream doesn’t melt😤
Meijer is a favorite of mine. They carry such a large variety of products. You can visit Meijer and get most, if not all, of what you need here. The food selection is vast and of good quality. The other departments carry almost everything youd be looking for. I really enjoy their garden and outdoor department and have experienced great success with flowers and plants I have purchased here.
I absolutely love this store! I love the food, the veggies, the fruit. The chicken is usually at a great price. Also, the baby section is awesome. I get all my baby food here. In addition, their bargain books are a great bargain. Totally recommend this Meijer for anyone.
I wish I. Could say good things about this meijer. There are a few decent employees but that word is a few. I recently went into the meijer to return bottles and get some things for the house. But I went in the bottle room and was swarmed with nats. The machines were broken and the machines on the outside had liquids all over them and the floor. It looks like noone has cleaned this room in a few days. I wanted to bring that up to the store leadership but finding a employee was difficult. Several employees told me its not their problem. I found one employee willing to help me but she got no were with the leadership of the store. They danced around the issue of helping me. Deferring me to the next leader in the line. The employee helping me walked me up to the service desk and there the employee tried to help by having a leader go and see the problem. But again they didnt. They sent what appeared to be a bottle room employee to go review the complaints only after I talked to another employee did I find out that the gentleman was actually a team leader wearing a normal employees clothes. Either he didnt want to be seen or... I am glad there was some people who tried to help but overall a bad experience.
Wish more checkout lines would open up to communicate with a person. All those checkouts and hardly any people especially when do it yourself is a hold up on the register itself if not something else going on and holds up anyway for s person to fix it. Need more checkout lines to open up. Let workers work the registers please.
Love the store!!! ABSOLUTELY HATE THE SELF CHECK OUT REGISTERS. They are touchy at the area where you put your items after you scan them, the touch screen only wants to work 1/3 of the time, and they dont give you enough time after you pay (maybe all of 5 seconds) before it starts telling you to please take your items. Jeesh at least let people put their change away.
Going to the Grocery store is always a bit annoying. But Meijer has always done its best to provide a relatively stress free shopping experience. It can be a bit tough on weekends, but for the most part Meijer always has what you need. They dont have the same variety, or sales that someplace like Walmart has, but by comparison Meijer has a larger selection of quality and familiar brands. If you are looking for fresh produce I cant recommend them enough. :)
The new shop and scan needs work. Took longer to do this than traditional shopping with self checkout. Had to wait quite a while for cashier to verify our small order. She then had to pull out all the produce, because she did not understand that it was already scanned into the app. With 12 self checkout registers, and two easily distracted cashiers, Im not sure how this is going to work if everyone is using shop and scan and needs verification.
Not only do I already love meijer, the Harvey St. Location is always outstanding. Every time we shop the employees are helpful and dedicated. Its also really sweet that they go out of their way to remind me everytime that my kids can have a free cookie and piece of fruit to keep them occupied thru the store. Always clean. Literally only thing that could get better is a few general merchandise products are pricey and thats compared to Target! Last note, meijer brand food is better than some brand name foods and easier on the wallet too!
There is a greeter in the Fruitport store whose name is Jeff. He is so welcoming and I really appreciate him. I have shopped in that store for many years and NO ONE ever welcomed me to the store or even said hello. Jeff is glad to see everyone and happy all the time.
My favorite Meijers store to go to. Ive gotten to know the greeters and a few cashiers over the years. Friendly staff. Fresh fruit and the items I enjoy most are always in stock. I wouldve given them a five stars except for the the fact that on most visits, I spend more time in line than I do shopping.
Where has been my local go to grocery store for about 40 years. Im very loyal to it I love the layout, the fresh produce, quality products and lower prices. What Im less pleased about lately is that the lines are longer and fewer cashiers are available. I also dislike that they took out the U scans for unlimited amount of groceries. As a shipt shopper I find I have to do quite a few substitutions and stocking is done at Prime shopping times. I guess you have to have that but it does make it difficult to get around. I dont fault staff but Management on this.
Meijer is the only store where you can buy clothes, groceries, home decor, camping supplies, auto supplies. greeting cards, candles, beauty and health items.and more.this store is one stop shopping.I shop at least 2 times week at Meijer. If you are looking for something you can usually find it at Meijer.
Store is great. The only gripe I have is the shipt shoppers. They have gotten so bad. I have found items hours after the shipt shopper has said that there wasnt any of a certain product. I think they get lazy and instead of genuinely looking for the product, they just say there isnt any available.
A good clean Meijer but the few times I have shopped there it always seemed that the shelves were more empty than full. It always seems like they never have what I want when I go in there. This location always seems to be very busy and the in store layout is slightly different from other meijer locations making it difficult to find some items. Seems as though they have tried to pack as much shelving space as possible into the smallest footprint store.
Overall, Meijer is a good place to shop. The negative points are 1. There arent every enough lanes open. 2. I dont know whose idea it was to have an employee walk around the store and ask if you want to open a credit card while you are shopping. Seriously?? Every visit I make there (at least 3 times a week) she asks me. I always tell her no. To top it off, she asked me 3 times in one visit if I wanted to open a credit card. My kids laugh every time we see her when we are shopping, they have witnessed her ask me more than once in just one trip.I am going to make a shirt that I wear every time I go to Meijer at this location that says, NO! I DO NOT WANT TO OPEN A MEIJER CARD! ASK AGAIN AT YOUR OWN RISK.
👎Edit 11/25/2020So i decide to order my groceries for Thanksgiving off of meijer.com and have them delivered.I place my order and it was claimed 10 min later. My groceries were shopped at 7pm. (Keep in mind no shipt shopper ever called or sent a text to my phone). At 7:45pm i saw on the website that the shopper only grabbed $40 worth of a $100 shopping list. It also said that my order had been delivered. But i had no groceries. I try calling meijer and was on hold for over an hour because no one answered the phone. I finally got a hold of shipt whom shifted the blame to Meijer. I called Meijer the next day and spoke with the store director who proceeded to call me a LIAR after i told him what shipt said. After this horrible experience i will never shop at meijer again. Online or in person. Meijer does not care if shipt shoppers try to steal your groceries.
We thought the meat counter was dated and the shelving area for meat looked unclean. Doesnt appear to be taken care of. Took a long time to checkout. Waiting we noticed all the dust on the ductwork and cobwebs. It was really gross for a grocery store. Weve definitely been to much better Meijer stores.
This store is very difficult to shop at after 11:00 p.m., as they close off many aisles for cleaning. The aisles not closed are often difficult to navigate at that time of the night due to associates stocking the shelves. Tonight, we had to forego many of the items we came for because of these obstacles.
Our family enjoys shopping at Meijer. It always feels cleaner and more organised than some of the competing stores. Some of the prices might seem slightly higher than walmart. For a big box store it seems like they have a good variety and decent quality. And it might seem like a silly thing but the children enjoy riding on the 1cent horse.
Ive always thought this meijer was just ok, but an employee by the name of Mary (Im pretty positive thats her name) changed my mind tonight. I was having trouble finding a couple items, and she was more than happy to help. Even if she didnt know, she called and asked someone who did. She walked with me through the store to find the items. I hope upper management sees this because shes a great employee, a huge asset to this store, and deserves some recognition!
At the Meijer yesterday I enjoyed myself so no one in the guy that was greeting all he was so hilarious I wasnt going that first one since he greeted me and stuff I went to that store like it was a maze and its because of him and it was Sunday also so that was put a blessing up on his heart to greet me so I can have a very special day and I did praise God
Meijer is consistently my choice for general grocery shopping, providing great choices, fresh produce and meat, and just good products all the way around. Prices are affordable, especially with weekly deal, coupons and their mPerks program. I save hundred each year and get better quality than shopping at W***art.

2022-04-25It has only gotten worse since I left. I came in to shop, and I couldnt believe how the team leaders were treating the cashiers that were literally doing their best with how busy the store is.Your customers are aware of how staff is treated. If they are smart they will leave all at once and screw the store over as karmic revenge.

2022-05-14We choose to go to this Meijer because there are not enough employees at the other location. They keep things very clean, the produce section is awesome.I like that mostly the shelves are stocked. There was a deli person and a bakery person to help us which rarely happens at the other location. I recommend Meijer over Walmart any day of the week for sure.

2021-08-25This is not a complete review of our entire experience at meijer. This is just something worth noting. Normally our experience is fairly good. The meat at this store has been incredibly over priced lately. 1lb of 90/10 ground beef was 8$. Also, the meat was expired and completely spoiled gray. Maybe if they were not charing so much for the meat, they might sell more of it quicker? Attached a few photos. Sad really...

2022-04-21Grounds and building were clear, clean and free of clutter. Friendly floor staff, cheerfully greeting customers while in the isles, and shopping carts were fully stocked. Multiple (3) cashiers for employee check-out, but walking past the self check-out corral, only one cashier near the 5 items or less . . . chatting with a customer, and at least 2 registers needed her attention with the other 15(?) were fully used with a line waiting enter. Items purchased rang up correctly. Bagger assisted cashier.

2022-05-06Quick place to find most anything you need from glow in the dark Duct Tape to avocados. I ❤ this place! Buy a Weekly World News on your way through the checkout line. Enjoy the REAL FAKE NEWS instead of the lies of Main Stream Media.

2022-06-05The lady with long gray hair that works the customer service desk today 6/4/22 about 8:30 pm is so rude and awful and is not very good at her job. I should have learned from the last experience at this store and hadn’t been back since. When I asked for a manager she thought it would be appropriate to mock me in front of him.

2022-03-17My rating of a two star is based on two aspects of the store.1st, the customer service department/staff seemed to bad mood usually. Also, there are certain exceptions that can be made by the staff when it comes to returns, but you can forget about it with this CS staff. I have tried to return items to this store in the past that they have declined so I literally drove to a different Meijers and returned the items without a problem.2nd, I have used the in store pickup on 7 occasions now and my order has be missing items 6 of the 7 times. I’m not talking about missing only one item. I’m talking about missing several items. Twice I was given someone else’s order mixed in with mine. The staff that brings the groceries out states that they can provide you with a receipt when you pickup your groceries. No idea why they can’t do this. Maybe it’s because if they did then you would have a list you could use to see if they gave you the correct groceries. If they don’t include something that you paid for and should have been included and you don’t realize it until you get home you are SOL! Lastly, multiple times I have paid for something and later decided to return the item only to be told that the item is not listed on my receipt. Remember, they don’t give you a receipt upon pickup.

2022-06-04I go to smaller stores closer to home for convenience at times for small pickups.. and I regret how much I get for what I pay. Times are still tough but should always just go to Meijer.

2019-12-19This location is huge. It really is your one stop shop. The store is always busy, but thankfully they were smart and have many self check outs and plenty of registers for quick check out. They also have a decent pet selection its like a small Petco. They have live fish you can get purchase which is pretty cool and more than the normal usual 3 aisles dedicated to pets. They also have a clothing department, small shoe department, ,etc. Its like Walmart except better! The store is fairly clean and organized things are in their proper spots and well stocked for the most part. Aisles are clearly marked so you know exactly what aisle you’re going into. The staff was also helpful and friendly. They greeted you as soon as you came in with a friendly smile.
