Comment: Even though the refrigerator in my apartment is a new model, it stopped cooling. I spoke with Kyra at the business office and she arranged for a visit from maintenance. Within a couple of hours Daniel came over and quickly diagnosed that the fan motor was not functioning.Daniel went the extra mile. Literally. He wanted to be sure that he got the refrigerator up and running before my food spoiled and even though that meant driving out of town for the part, and working after hours, he stuck with it until the job was done. Office management and maintenance staff are first class.

Comment: Your roof will leak into your apartment. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when, and where. They will patch it and in a few months it will leak again. Ive been here over 3 years and it has happened every year, the roof needs replacement on all the buildings.Extremely high chance of mold based on how many leaks occur every year.Renovated apartment had 1/2 of the appliances in broken or disrepair. Wiring to electrical outlets and switches was incorrectly done. Door had 2/6 screws holding it up. Garbage from previous tenant was supposed to be taken care of and never was. Hot/Cold water reversed on faucet and toilet inoperable. Renovated in this case meant new carpet and paint on the walls.

Comment: Living at metro was a decent experience as far as it being a nice layout in the apartment and maintenance coming promptly. However, kyra at the leasing office through the entire 13 months just seemed like she had no idea what she was talking about and doesn’t keep her word. coming out of the lease I repeatedly made phone calls to schedule a walk through and receiving my deposit back (which I didn’t end up getting back anyway.)Sabrina was always honest and nice, no issues on her end.As far as the overall property, no one scooped up their dog poop, it constantly smelled like pee when I walked out my apartment, and people would throw their trash on the floor when there are multiple dumpsters located around the complex. I personally wouldn’t come back as they also raised the rent beyond what the place is actually worth.

During that time: the apartment wasnt ready and the office was closed on the AGREED UPON MOVE IN DATE, major roach infestations (they were too cheap to spray the entire building), a wire in my electrical outlet COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED from the circuit AND LIVE, carpet tacks in the rug, the plumbing sounded like living in a submarine, a ceiling fan that fell out of the neighbors dining room ceiling, bicycle theft of of our BALCONY, and... the cherry on the Sunday...When we moved out we were charged an EXTRA $250 in cleaning fees after only living there a year and cleaning it BETTER THAN WHEN WE MOVED IN (there was garbage left by the cleaning people on the porch).I made several friends while living here. NONE of their experiences were good.

Comment: Moving into Metro Six55 about a year ago has been the best decision for my family and I. Tomorres the manager does it all. She is excellent at communicating and overall a great person that makes sure you are taking care of. Same goes for the maintenance team. Mike is an outstanding worker and has always taken care of a maintenance problem right away. The community together is always looking out for each other. 10/10 I would recommend this apartment complex.

You’ll be paying for lots of utilities that are not included on the lease agreement like sewage fee, boiler fee, an admin fee, water, trash fee, utility cost conversion fee, all which is supposed to be shared amongst the tenants. On top of your rent and PG&E you’ll end up paying $200-$300 extra in these shared utilities. The apartments are also nothing spectacular, They’re outdated with popcorn ceilings, they smell like smokers lived in it, they’re also infested with cockroaches.

Comment: AVOID AT ALL COSTSThey told me they would take the cleaning and end months utilities out of my deposit. Deposit wasnt returned until almost 2 months after I left with no itemized deductions list with $258 taken from it.Now, over 6 months later, they are trying to take me to a collection agency claiming that I still owe for my last months utilities and refuse to answer any phone call or email.Edit based on owner reply:While it is true that my deposit was delayed because of a bad address, they still had my phone number and email to contact me - neither were used. I only got them to resend it AFTER calling them 5+ times and emailing them multiple times - and no, it was not an incorrect email because it did not bounce and it was listed on their site at the time.They still, to this date, over 6 months after I moved out, have not given me a deductions list as to why $250+ was taken from my deposit.This edit comes a week after they replied to my initial review and I still have not received any contact from them after they said they would be in touch.

Comment: The new management seems better than the last one but unfortunately when I left, the new management was just settling in, thus the 4 stars. I lived here for 4 years and the rent kept going up.Extremely convenient because the BART station is just next door, however, the biggest inconvenience is parking. Very few guest spaces available that are mostly occupied by the residents. Street parking is virtually non existent because on the weekdays, BART owns it. On the weekends, you could park on the streets and keep patrolling on a hope that a guest spot will open up.Best feature of this place - The GYM. During my years, I lost 25 LBS just working out in that gym. It is a kind of gym that you dont usually see in other rental communities.

Comment: My hubby reviewed 11 months ago. Heres an update. We renewed our lease. While we dont regret it its not been all sh*ts and giggles. Some units are corporate rentals, short term per the manager when I complained about walking through clouds (Im not exaggerating) of cigarette or pot smoke and they do nothing. We open our balcony door for fresh air and in minutes shut it due to the stink of our downstairs neighbor getting high on theirs.The pool area is over run every nice day with teens, okay thats fine, but whats with the absolutely screaming unsupervised small children? Its morbid, but Im waiting for one of them to drown.Its a secure complex but the gates are often broken, hanging open inoperable. Parking is a joke there is NO guest parking, many times Ive come home to find someone parking in my spot (which I pay for) and when you call the security patrol the mailbox is broken/full or the system just hangs up on you and you are left S.O.L. If we have visitors they have to park at Bart and walk over and I woke this morning to a motercycle parked on the sidewalk.

Comment: I was a tenant with this complex for three years, and the services and my experiences with the staff and the occurrences in my unit were nightmares, and I will explain thoroughly.1-The apartment appeared nice, but at closer inspection all constructive work was lackadaisically done.  They simply spray painted the inside of the cabinets white without removing the adjustable shelving, so when adjustments were made dark bald lines would be visible.  The cabinet and door hinges, and the knob of my coat closet after a few months.2-There was a leakage from one of the sprinklers in the living room.  I contacted the leasing office and they said they would have someone out for inspection.  I requested that they contact me before entering the unit for I am a female who lived alone and didnt feel comfortable waking up in the morning to find strangers in my home.  They failed miserably.  Men were consistently showing early in the morning, would knock once or twice, and enter.  I would wake up to hearing men conversing loudly in the living area from my bedroom, and that made me incredibly uneasy.  Unfortunately, that mishap did not end after their claim of fixing the leak.  The water pipe connected to the defective sprinkler burst, leading to a huge amount of water flooding my living room.  They contacted me (for once) while at work to notify me that my belongings were safe from the havoc but the carpet was ruined and will be replaced after maintenance.  I returned home to find chaos: a massive void was in the ceiling, floors bald, all my living furniture was dislocated to either the dining area or the balcony (they opted to have my CANVAS couch outdoor).  The duration of the maintenance was over a month and NEVER did I receive an update of any kind.  The men would show up one day, disappear for three and show up again for maybe two days.  There was a large wooden contraption right in the middle of the already disorderly living room, making it inconvenient to maneuver around the space.  For over a month, I was essentially confined to the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom.  The maintenance team used my bathroom and left plastered footprints across the hard floors.  My couch remained on my balcony the whole time.  When the whole nightmare over, plaster dust smothered my furniture.  They were neither cleaned nor put back to where they originally were, and no help of offered.  THERE WAS NO APOLOGY OR ANY COMPENSATION FOR THE LENGTHY INCIDENT AND THE INHABITABLE SPACE.  My frustrated neighbors reported the situation to the main office and received no response.  I was just glad it was finally over.4-The last thing was incredulous, and it occurred AFTER my departure with the community.  I decided a month before the expiration of my lease that Id be relocating.  So, accordingly, I submitted a written letter that I would no longer remain at the complex after the term.  I left some items for them to throw out for I expected to forgo the $500 deposit.  A month later, I received a bill for over $1200 with listed descriptions of the service charges, for which of most I concur.  But, it listed that I extended my stay for an additional 2 weeks after my lease and that was where the additional prorated charges stemmed.  I vacated the apartment 2 weeks BEFORE my lease ended and returned my keys and fobs night before the end date.  Theres no signed documentation noting that I would be remaining for any additional days.

The property is well-maintained and beautifully landscaped . The gas grills picnic area exercise room equipment are state of the art. The pool and spa area is a 4star resort- like environment. have lived here for two years and would encourage anyone to take a look and see if this place is for you to make your new home.

Comment: I have lived at Metro Six 55 for the past 30 days. I’m a big believer of status reports over time. My first 30 days, and my move in process have been overall very positive. The front office was easy to reach by email and responded in a reasonable amount of time to any questions before or during my move in. I would advise email over phone calls, as this also provides a paper recorded of the request.The unit was in very good shape upon move in. New paint was well applied. There were some issues that needed repaired or acted upon. Maintenance request were easy to put in using their online portal, and acted upon in 24 hours if urgent, or scheduled if needed to be done at a later date and have been completed.The complex is very pet friendly and there are a lot of people with dogs. Waste bags and drop of areas are provided for animals. With that of course comes people who do not do a good job picking up. From my experience at other complexes, Metro Six55 has a pretty good amount of tenants who do pick up after their pets. People in the complex and overall very friendly and say hello to one another outside often.The only negatives I have currently is unassigned parking is limited which is an understanding due to the size of the complex. With Bart owning most of the surrounding side parking it could be a walk of a block or so if you needed to park somewhere else. The spa was not as hot as I expect, and is currently down for repairs so hopefully that will be fixed.Overall I am very positive and happy with my choice for apartments.

Comment: Moved in this past May 2015 and my experience with the property and staff has been AWESOME. After I moved in there were a couple of items I found that needed attention, and within an hour, it was completed. Every time I have had a question, I have walked into the office and its like visiting Family I have not seen in years, the staff is always full of smiles, and have always made me feel welcomed, I feel like I am part of their family. Tomorres & Daniel, as well as the maintenance staff are Great, if you are considering moving here, you will not be disappointed. The property is clean, well maintained, and even when an occasional tenant does not clean up after their dog, I recall the dog poo being gone an hour or so later, So either the onsite staff, or maybe even a good neighbor, someone picked it up. Also the move in process was online, convenient, and smooth, I am so glad I moved here.

Comment: Dog poo all over the grounds. The facility people dont clean consistently and the dog owners dont care much to clean the poo either. The facility offers bags for people to use but unfortunately folks chose otherwise. Its disgusting. We complained to the office and they said they would have all of it cleaned but they never followed up. Another resident told me she suggested to the office to post signs reminding people to clean their poo, the staff said they would post signs but it never was completed.Parking is ridiculously limited. You are only allotted one spot per household. Which is contradictory to the fact that you are charged for the utilities based on how many people you live with. So if you have three people then you are charged utilities for three; however, you get no more than one parking spot. As a matter of fact, the recycling bin takes up a parking spot in an already very limited area.You can have another spot but guess what, they charge you.Hot tub was cold for one week without repair. When I asked the site manager for an estimated time of repair she replied, hopefully soon. She acted disassociated.One of the contractors on site for another issue told me that the pool has a leak lasting for over two weeks but the managers are dragging their feet to fix it. Is the leak a big deal to me? No, but the bigger picture is the fact that staff is not quick to respond to things that are reported to them.I give this place two stars because its placed conveniently across the street from BART and it is not as rowdy as other apartments around.Straight up, the staffs answers and responses to inquiries are canned.

Comment: I can not describe how glad I was to find a place to stay after being transferred to California from Mississippi for a job promotion. Daniel was so nice and walked me step by step to help me get all my forms in order. There were several options on the table for me, but I am glad I made my decision. Understand, I had never been to Hayward, and my job is in San Bruno. Hayward is an awesome town, and Metro Six55 is a little like home. Your management staff is very friendly and always returns calls the same business day. I am blessed beyond measure. I love the new renovations!! I cant wait to use the gym!!

Comment: The worst year of my life. Where do I start? Upon moving in I was told I would have to pay for water. I asked how much the water bill would be and I was told about 40 dollars a person. To my surprise the water bill included: water, hot water, garbage and sewage which would run about 120 dollars a month. For two people it would have been nearly 200 dollars a month.I was also told there would be light construction as they were going through a multi million dollar renovation. For about 6-8 months there was very heavy construction with people banging outside of our apartment all day, jackhammers removing concrete, etc. And none of the renovations actually improved the the standard of living. It was just a ploy to dress up the outside so that new tenants would have to pay SF prices to live in the ghetto. We were also displaced for a week while they renovated the sprinklers. The high end fixtures are poorly installed and made out of cheap material. They constantly break and need to be fixed. And popcorn ceilings? What decade are we in?Which leads me to maintenance calls. It took nearly 2 months for someone to finally come and fix a faulty outlet that they broke while renovating the sprinklers. Expect to call the office multiple times with no response for weeks sometimes. Also the A/C they boast about works best as a fan and only if you are standing directly in front of it. The water heater constantly broke leaving us without water for a day at a time. The pipes also made moaning and groaning sounds all day and all night. Im not sure if they fixed that problem since I gave up asking about maintenance pretty early on.The hydrotherapy spa lol, okay its a jacuzzi that often looks too dirty to even enter. the pool is not heated and is super ice cold even on super hot days so expect to never use it.I was paying 1600 when I moved in for a 1 bedroom which I thought at the time was pretty steep but I now see that my apartment is being rented for nearly 2000 a month... for a 1 bedroom!Bums are constantly in the garbage, cars are always getting broken into, street noise is very noisy with racing motorcycles, ambulances, police, and fire department. since this is the ghetto its understandable. Im so glad to be gone from there.I cant imagine anyone giving this more stars, I think theyre fake. If you like your apartment staff constantly in your apartment with just a days notice of a note on the door be my guest move in.

Comment: After living here for almost 2 years, I will be sad to be moving away (Job Transfer) Im a before and after kind of guy, and seeing how well they did with transforming and renovating, its been amazing. First off, the Pool and fitness center are amazing! The apartments are spacious with a good floor plan, and the in-unit amenities cant be beat for the price. The grounds are well kept, and the staff is always helpful and pleasant. People say Hello to me every morning, weather I like it or not :-) the surrounding are is also great, with good food right around the corner (try the Thai or the afghan place down mission, theyre both awesome). What else. . .Pet friendly, lots of light and and lots of trees, and despite being between a major road and a bart station, surprisingly quiet. if I could I would pick this place up and move it to were Im going.

Comment: My husband and I have been living here for about 18 months and what a transformation! When we first moved here, the property was in desperate need of renovation. There was a lot of construction going on, as the buildings were resided, painted, got new signs & lights, but now everything has been completed and it is great. We were given notices in a timely fashion and the contractors that they had working on the property were considerate. In addition to the building renovations, they have completely rebuilt the pool and spa, put in a new fitness center (with state-of-the-art machines) and significantly improved the landscaping.We have found the management to be absolutely lovely to work with and extremely accommodating. They even went to the extent of putting us in a temporary unit when they had to put in the new sprinklers so that our newborn baby would not have any chance of exposure to anything. In terms of maintenance, we have had only one plumbing issue (inevitable) and they responded immediately and sent a plumber out to us even though it was a Sunday. The maintenance guys who work here are very considerate and regularly checked in with me to make sure everything was good while I was pregnant.The location of this property is very centralized. It is right next to the South Hayward BART station, so it is very easy to get to SF or Oakland. Also, there have been major improvements to the downtown Hayward area, which is only a five minute drive away. There are new shops and Off The Grid is every Monday night. :) Something that is unique is that the property is this accessible, yet at night it is quiet and you can see the stars.The rent here is exactly what you would expect for the East Bay. First, you cant just look at the amount of the rent. You have to consider what you are getting for what you are paying. As I mentioned before, there are facilities such as the pool, fitness center, lounge (with WiFi) and soon to be a new BBQ area under the redwoods in the courtyard. Every unit has a dishwasher, washer & dryer and a porch or balcony. We have not had any problems, whatsoever with mold. Someone else had mentioned that they paid between $130 & $150 for a month of trash and water. That is absolutely ludicrous...our bill is typically about $50. Someone else mentioned that they had problems with pests, we have NEVER encountered this either.Obviously, I would recommend this property to someone looking for a home in the East Bay.

Comment: I have live here for FOUR years!I have endured rats, roaches, FOUR cars break ins (TWO for me TWO for my visitors) and my boyfriends car was stolen TWICE (The break in and cars steal occurred between 11/13 and 1/14), water leaking from everywhere (my downstairs furniture was ruined TWICE!).I pay for the gate to remain closed at all times but it rarely is especially at night when crime in this area is at its height. In fact, the police officer I spoke with the last time I called, said that Hayward is 9th in the country in cars being stolen. I can live with the unruly kids and huge dogs running everywhere, but the lack of parking, constant renovation at the inconvenience of the tenants, and the overall DISRESPECT the property OWNERS show the hard working tenants is RIDICULOUS!I put my notice in the leave at the end of my lease. Meanwhile, my apartments sprinkler system was being worked on TWO WEEKS without property notifying us!Since I work from, I had to leave me apartment with my dog everyday due to the noise! I was unable to pack and clean properly to leave on time. When asked for additional time, corporate management credited just TWO days and served me with a 3 day notice!Any thing above 2 stars is coming from the CURRENT management......They must have forgotten we can see their pictures! God bless them because they are working for an AWFUL companyThis is my experience......Enter at your own risk!

Comment: I moved in before it was metro 655 and whenever you needed anything done, it was like pulling teeth. Now that its under new mangers and a new name, its so much better. the staff is very nice, i have been here for 2 years and going on 3! i love the area, they are making a lot of repairs and its really starting to look nice and neat!! and i know when all the repairs are done, everything is going to be even better!!!I would suggest going in and talking to Daniel! He is so nice!

Comment: Moved here from Illinois and picked this place due to its location close to BART. Nothing exceptional but no issues until it was sold to a new owner in early 2013. The new management is AWFUL and the primary reason why I am leaving at the end of my lease. The first month they posted a notice on everyones door notifying them that they still needed to pay rent (duh) however made no mention of the more pertinent fact that they would be disabling the online payment portal, neccesitating a cashiers check be delivered by hand on the first of the month to avoid late fees. I have gone about a month without receiving mail, when I went to the post office they pleaded with me to please tell the management that there is a giant pile of undelivered mail due to the mailboxes being too damaged to be delivered to. When I spoke to the management about the issue they informed me that they were aware of the issue but could not give me a reason as to why the residents were not contacted.
