I put my own speakers in and all my speakers went out. I went to Mickey shorr’s to see what was wrong and they charged me $40 to check it and they told me my radio amp was fried and I had to pay $400 to get a new amp and run the speakers through that. Next day I went to the hardware store and bought a car fuse for my radio like the little dollar one!! My speakers started to work again but we’re coming in and out so I put my old speakers in and nothing was wrong with my radio. I grew up to the royal oak one and have helped me with my first sub and last ones and always knew what was what and this was the first time I tried this place out! They will not get my business again!!
I cant say enough good things about the Canton location. Ryan and his guys have service Down to a tee. Very helpful and accomidating. They gave me exactly what i wanted at a fair price and finished sooner than promised. 10 stars out of 5. See them for your mobile electronics needs. You wont be disappointed.
The store is fairly easy to see from the road. The inside of the store was clean when I visited and there is a nice display of products for your ride.The guy that helped me (Mike) was trying to get a bite to eat but they were short staffed and he rushed to take care of me. The radio and back up camera I ordered will take a couple days to get the parts so Ill update this after install.
If you have a car stereo installed make sure you test all the speakers before you leave. I have had 2 installs on different cars now where the sub woofer speakers did not work. I even told them on the second car to make sure ALL the speakers work before you give it back. They assured me that they check everything. Well they didnt. How can you not check ALL speakers?Both times they fixed the issues but it was a big inconvenience and should never happen at a place that installs stereos.Prices are pretty good but I have a hard time recommending this place now.
Very unprofessional facility!!! Had a warranty item fail for the second time. First one smoke came out of dash and they replaced the defective part. The dash panel was left loose and the steering column apart in pieces. Second time the same part failed they wanted to charge a $49.00 fee to determine cause and had no record of the work done less than a month ago. After some words exchanged as to my disappointment and a finger salute, my daughter and I exited the facility. The store manager then came out of the garage bay and threatened me as I was walking to my truck and my daughter was walking past the now 4 men wanting to start a physical confrontation with me. The manager went back in the building when I started to walk his direction. I then went to the front door of the store and opened the door and stated how very unprofessional that reaction was and in front of my daughter. The manager came out of his office and cursed me some more and the other staff said just leave. I left and the whole store staff came out of the front of the store and were yelling and screaming at me in my truck and my daughter in her truck as we waited to turn onto Ford rd.This store is ran like a gang of thugs.NEVER WILL I RETURN TO A MICKEY SHORR FOR ANY WORK TO BE DONE.I will do my best to inform all vendors of the caliber of professionalism of the MICKEY SHORR location as to how they are representing their products.A call to corporate office will be placed on September 4, 2018.Will edit if there is any more details as to the restitutionThey have record of my name and address in their computer system. Explained the situation that the Canton location has put everyone in. They were very helpful. I was offered a service appointment at the Garden City location. The regional manager met me there to over see the warranty repair. The Manager of the Garden City location was very concerned and made sure my daughter and I felt confident that the repair would be done and correctly. I was found that the module was never installed correctly at the Canton store.Thank you for fixing my problem.I still will give Canton a low rating
The staff was kind and knowledgeable, installation looks awesome they were over a $100.00 lower on installation and parts cost than both Best buy and Car tunes in Westland and they did the job right on the spot. I am very pleased and would highly recommend their services.
Was nervous at first because I hear horror stories about people having electrical issues when they have audio installed. Shoutout to Mike for taking care of me; gave me a great package deal and worked with me on exactly what I wanted, which a few other shops I visited could not do. I hung around while I waited for the job to get done and the staff are great to just talk to and kick back with. Will definitely be back, and I got exactly what I wanted.
These guys were great... we were having problems with a remote start that wasnt even installed here and a brand that they dont even sell... they brought it in the garage and had it fixed for $42. Only drawback is the first come first served policy... would have been nice to have an appointment. We had to wait while 2 others were helped before us.
I had some issues and repeated visits to sort things out, at this Canton store. However, when I wrote the regional manager, Bob, about them, he called me immediately and ensured that all my issues were resolved. He sent me to his Keego Harbor store and Adam, the technician there, worked very hard to get everything working and sounding good. I am happy with the outcome and really felt that my car was in good hands with Adam. Also, I felt that Bob, the regional manager, really cared about making sure I was happy with the work done on my car.Ill be going back there whenever I need car electronics installations or work.
We are now happy with the viper system we had installed on my wifes Nissan. It was done poorly the first time and was half a$$ed upon bringing it back to be fixed. They got it right he third time. Management dealt with it professionally but I think the guys doing the work were not giving 100% on the job. If youre going to work with smart keys and proximity locks, you gotta know what youre doing if youre charging someone for an install. I spent all day going back and forth in my spare car on my only day off.
Some of the worst service Ive ever experienced. Got a good deal on products, but service made me wish I had paid the full price and gone to a big box retailer. Very unprofessional. Low class. 2 other customers were in the store with problems and instead of helping them them the manager, Mike, literally slept while a younger sales guy did his best to hold things together, all while making excuses for Mike. When I say slept thats no exaggeration, he literally put his head down and went to sleep at 530pm tonight (12/12/2016), with a total of 4 customers in the store (1 who was buying a remote start from the younger guy, 1 who was very disappointed with a sub/amp system and needed Mikes help, then myself and one other gentleman who were waiting for installs) I was flabbergasted with his unprofessionalism. Absolutely unbelievable experience.In fairness, the price was good. Its only been a few hrs so I dont know about the quality of the products/install yet. But, Mike should be working beneath a manager until his narcolepsy subsides. It was more than just his sleeping, he was unprofessional and showed an unwillingness to help even before he fell asleep. Total apathy was displayed for the entire 2hrs I spent in the store.12/31/17 update:: The install was on par with Mikes service. The backlight that lights up all the instrument panels was non-functional after install. Some of the molding wasnt put back together properly. Mickey Shorr might be a good place... but not the one Canton, thats for sure.
They could not give u price until U stop by there.They gave me price and said it includes 2yr warranty. After I got receipt they had charged me 30 extra for warranty.Did not ask me if I wanted to get/buy the warranty. Lee was the sales personRep on phone was rude. Price over phone was less than what actually was.
The team is incredible, I had them install a Metra Dash Kit for a 2012 Mustang that everyone on the Internet said was next to impossible to install. They did the installation effortlessly and got it right on the very first try, it has worked amazing since installation along with my Kenwood DMX 905s that was also installed. The price was great and it took no time for them to install. If I ever need audio or installation work done I know exactly where to go, Mickey Shorr’s in Canton.
They do have great staff, everyone is nice and frienly/willing to lend a helping hand. However, the remote starter ended up not working when I needed it during the cold winter (2 years ago). My schedule was so busy I never had to time to come in. Then finally I came in they fixed it. Again, I am dealing with it not working. Overall, this will be my third appearance at Mickey Shorr with faulty car starter... So Im not sure if its a manual issue, my car, the actual starter or what. Although, it is getting irritating. Other than that this place is nice. Staff is great, however, equipment needs to be just as great.
Absolute worst place to get anything installed about a year ago I came in and spent $1500.00 plus dollars on audio equipment for my boat. Which was installed correctly I come back a year later to a have a remote start installed and they totally screwed me over I was 2nd in line to get my equipment installed and they told me till 6pm keep in mind I was there right when they opened. I asked for my money back which was a fight in itself however I got it back the installer was rude to me as I was asking for my money back absolute worst experience with a company ever bad customer service and bad install services as well, if you want to get screwed over come here.
Took my boat to have a radio removed and a new one installed . abc warehouse sent me to micky shore for the install. The radio that i bought from abc was no good from factory .. So the tech working on the boat went out of his way and sold me a better radio for a few dollars more than the one i bought at abc. He installed the radio and went above and beyond with a few extra things that came with the radio he sold me .. Also the tech that was doing the work was happy to fit me in and get the job done that day no matter how long or what it would take to do the job . the sales ppl were nice but seemed like they didnt care if they got the install now or three weeks later otherwise it was a good experience.. Thanks to the installer again
The sales manager spoke to me in a belittling manner while I was asking him questions about their products and service while comparing them to other installers in the area. He was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. Ive never had an experience that negative with a sales person before. I can only assume he felt threatened by the other installers I was comparing them to. Regardless, there was no reason for him to act the way he did. I thankfully did not and will never buy from this store.
Friendly Service, Terrible and Unprofessional InstallAfter going back 5 or 6 times to fix the install job they did I finally decided to go to Car Tunes in Westland. I took pictures of the before and after. Mickey Shorr left live wires open and ungrounded and used about 4 extra feet of wiring for each wire that they just jumbled together under the passenger floor trim piece. Stock wires on my brand new vehicle were unnecessarily cut and some connections were hand wound back together. Each time I went back to get my vehicle they said you are all set, problem is fixed and sounds great. Each time I could immediately tell something wrong (i.e. turned the key on and the front speakers didnt work and the front and rear speaker inputs were switched).The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the manager and sales staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. I believe there might be one or two guys in the garage that may know how to do a good system install but its obvious the person who worked on mine did not know what they were doing. Go to Car Tunes to get your installs, they were professional and showed me what my vehicle looked like before and after and explained every little thing they were doing so I knew it was being done right.
Had to go back to many times and still not right had to fix the problems myself will never set foot in there again. UPDATE 11-8 2019 to make matters worse I was contacted by the corporate office about what could be done to correct the issue at the time I told them nothing and they assured me that all I need to do is contact them and they would make it right well I did so about yet another problem and was told someone would get back with me within 24 hours that was 2 months and Ive heard nothing NOTHING WAY TO GO MICKY SHORR......
Very helpful & knowledgeable staff. All factory controls worked after deck was installed. New deck was perfect & better than factory. Deck brought me new handsfree Bluetooth for cell phone, Bluetooth streaming music & integrated phone charging port. Exceeded expectations! Thanks Ryan!
Very disappointed, bought a speaker box and woofers from Mickey Short in Canton. Already had after market radio and amp. Just needed it installed. Got it installed Saturday been back 3 times including installation. Because they messed up my radio wiring!! WHY MESS WITH THE RADIO WIRING WHEN ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS HOOK UP A AMP? The radio has RCA amp outputs!!!
Awsum crew ther i was in need of some 6 ×9 speakers and a used head unit for sombodys car i was getting back on the road. And i called ther im new to canton. Long story short i spoke with a gent And altho i didnt have enough for the speakers and head unit lee hooked me up. Thanks man. Really aprecait it. Awsum crew. Keep up the good work man
I love working at canton Mickey Shorrs in Michigan, because I love helping my customers finding out what they need, and customize is the #1 customer service I love to advencs myself in this company, I’m a open minded employee sales assistant, and I will take excellent great care of all my following customers everyday....when they walk in the door I always welcome everyone to are store and a great smile and telling the customers come back again with your friend and family... that is great Customer service and I always hold the door open to all my customers when they leave are when the customers and I walk outside...If you need anything come and see are wonderful team today.
I have a 2019 mustang spent 1,900 on a system they broke my truck and didn’t put my plastic on the inside of my car together and left the car a complete mess.. come in to complain the guy behind the counter is discussing a party for the up coming weekend very unperfessional

2022-05-02I brought in my car yesterday to have my radar detector hardwired to the electrical. Staff was very easy going, and gave me a great price on the installation. Before I knew it they already had my vehicle in and not too much later it was ready to go. I just bought a brand new car so I was really apprehensive about having work done, but these guys are pros. Everything looks super clean and just like new.

2020-12-11Very curtious, was able to install my system, when I called same day. Good specials. Left my truck just the way I gave it to them. Explained how to use my system. They always wore masks. They have designated 6 foot spots for customers to see. Thanks to Ryan and his staff for doing a great job.

2021-10-26Super fast install of remote start car alarm, sub, 4 speakers. This would be my second time getting them to install and re- install in another vehicle. My car sounds amazing!!! 2021-06-09This location of Mickey Shorr is incredible! We have a Volvo that needed a radio, they were the only company that was honest with me. My Volvo cannot use an after market radio and they told me that up front. Every other place I called tried selling me something. Ryan and Lee were fantastic to work with. There were locations way closer for me to work with, but I chose them even though it was 40 miles away! Thank you for such great service!!

2021-04-14I’ve only had reason to go in a few times, but I’ve had a radio and speakers put into two different cars in Canton. The staff was extremely helpful at balancing good quality with a good price, and have all been really professional and knowledgeable. The first time around the install was done I would say in just a couple hours or less (granted this is off an older memory)- I was able to stick around and wait while they installed everything. This time around, whether it’s policy or because of COVID they estimated up to 4 hours, which isn’t unreasonable. They’re adding 2 more speakers with the new car, and we talked about potentially adding more electronics later. Each time the prices have come out to be reasonable, and I can’t say enough good things about the employees I spoke to.

2021-08-02I bought a sub and amp from a friend and wanted it professionally installed. I went to these guys and Ryan and the tech (name sounded like Mulan) helped me out. A few weeks later, my fuses blew and they helped put in new ones. These guys are friendly, professional, and 100% recommend.

2022-05-09My son took his car here One Year ago this month (March 2018). Had his after market radio, amplifier and speakers installed. The tech installed the Power cable under the vehicle. This place has gone down. Be careful.

2020-09-15Fraud..... Fraud..... Fraud. I called this place last week and spoke with the representative in regards to the inquiry on purchase and installation of remote start on my car. He verified my vehicle compatibility and gave me the price of $219.00 ( including parts and labor)plus tax with some warranty. When I went to this store this morning, one of the guy started with few varieties of remote start devices they offer. While he was explaining, he stated he would not recommend one of the cheapest one they sell because how cheaply it is made( if you can’t recommend something, why would you sell it?). The story doesn’t end there, he also mentioned that I also have to buy a device along with it for better integrity or my vehicle can get disabled while using. The sad part is none of these come with any warranty unless you pay extra for it. All of this with tax came up to be more than $320.00. I just can’t believe the company store like Micky Shorr would quote their customers like that. I would rather get it done by the dealers where it actually comes with life time warranty. Will never do business with this people.

2020-06-24Love this place. I have spent thousands here and am always happy. Ryan Lee and all of them are super nice, funny and attentive. It is more than a shopping experience it me hanging with some friends. I trust their recommendations and often apply them to my various vehicles. Prices are great installation has never been an issue. And in the very very rare case there was an issue it was immediately rectified without issue or incident. I have looked at Car Tunes and other Mickey Shorrs and keep coming back to this place no matter the distance just because of the staff. This is the best place around. Dont bother looking elsewhere I did that for you, and trust me you dont want to go through that hassle.

2018-03-22Fantastic place to do business. They know what theyre talking about and are honest people. Gave me a good deal on everything Ive had installed by them. My father and myself have had full system installs done by them and it turned out great. Would highly recommend to those just starting in the car audio hobby. Great work, great products, great staff. 5/5.
