This is a place for locals. The food is really good and of course they have great beverages. This is in a wonderful historic building. It has a great vibe. Everyone is super nice and chilled. Not real noisy here either. The servers are very attentive. Never have to wait for a drink even on busy nights. I enjoy gong here every time I am in town. This is a dont miss location.
I am originally from GR and still have family here. When here visiting I always make a point to eat at Mill Creek. I went on the evening of Dec 23, 2021 with family. Was not impressed, had the perch, not sure what the sauce was, so I had to ask, they called it tartar sauce, worst I ever had. The perch tasted like it had been frozen, then cooked. Fries were less than desirable. I understand the Mill Creek is under new ownership. Not sure if I will return and I was hoping to patronize this place a couple of times while in town. Maybe a call to Gordon Ramsay is needed to help steer this establishment back to what the locals remember as great food and great times...I will add...the service was outstanding and the server was attentive, thank you Courtney
It was loud, as some have said, but we were able to talk just fine and the place was full of mostly non-drunk people. Wife had the fish special and really liked it. I had the steak special and it was VERY good. Both meals were $11 each. I was disappointed that there was a $3.50 upcharge for Tavern Fries and the waitress didnt warn me, after talking me into them. The peanut butter pie was a good finish.
This past Saturday my husband and I came in for lunch here at Mill Creek as we do once a month for a lunch date. Our food was great as always and our service was alright. Besides the great food and alright service one thing that really bothered us was a manager that was not on duty. As we sat at a table behind the bar we couldnt help but notice two females at the bar that were pretty intoxicated which is no ones business but there own until it was brought to our table. The two were playing drinking games and taking shots, one of the girls came to our table asking us what we thought her zodiac sign was (which was part of the game they were playing). We were trying to be friendly and guessed to try and get her to leave so we could just enjoy our lunch. She then proceeded to other customers also interrupting there lunches. We tried to hurry and finish lunch just so we could leave because we felt uncomfortable and didnt want to be around the loud chaos. Before we left we watched a man a few seats down ask this young lady if she worked there because she looked familiar which she did to us as well. She then stated that she was the General Manager there at Mill Creek while almost falling out of her seat and as business owners my husband and I looked at each other and felt our hearts drop. In writing this review we hope the owner sees it and does something right away for this will cause a ton of problems to the business and community. We have come here for the past two years on and off and this has not been the only time we have seen this behavior with the staff and this young lady. We truly wish the best to your business and will be taking a break from coming into this restaurant we hope to return seeing a change and becoming regulars once again.
Good food, great service, but not having a physical food or drink menu honestly and unfortunately ruined my first time dining here.Everything besides that was awesome but it really made me not enjoy the overall experience feeling uncomfortable on my phone trying to order as it was on 3%Bring a charged phone to dine! .
We went here Saturday night for my moms birthday and it was all around such a disappointing experience. Our server acted like she cared less about us. First my sisters drink was wrong..no biggie but I finally had to walk to the bar to fix it. Then 3 out of 4 food orders were wrong. Our burgers were quite over cooked. There were regulars at the bar who were obviously getting all the good service from the waitress which I understand bc Im a bartender myself but we were literally the only other table in there and we just felt really uncomfortable. Like we were more trouble than anything Im really upset I wasted my moms birthday dinner here.
Absolutely, one of the best places to eat in Comstock Park. Very friendly staff and great waitresses. She replaced my water today without me asking or noticing. The food is to die for. I had the Man Burger and was not disappointed. Didnt add anything to it. Cheers and enjoy!
Setting wise this definitely not my cup of tea. While I have no problem with a bar setting, the rustic style and wood floor/walls end up making it very loud. Thats a personal preference but I feel it should be noted. The food was decent, the pretzels with with beer cheese were very good, salad was.. well a house salad, nothing special but its a house salad nothing extra is expected. The bacon on the burger was... Not burnt but VERY crispy, again thats a personal preference. What would make it a 3-star experience at best was my WIFES food. She ordered her steak medium well. It came out bloody and rare at best. Her roll was warmed but otherwise was essentially raw, prepackaged dough.I could look past most of this, but then came the service. A sign displayed asks you to seat yourself, which is no problem. We sat down and it took 5 or 10 minutes to get menus and drinks. Not a massive surprise, we sat ourselves so it would take some time to get noticed. But now that we are it will go smooth right?Well 10 minutes later when they FINALLY ask our order speaks a bit differently. It was another 10 to get a cup of soup, the salad, and the pretzels. It was another 15 or 20 on top of THAT for our burger and steak. The steak that came out WAY undercooked mind you.The cherry on top of it all though, was the waitress who stood at the table next to us for upwards of 20 minutes just talking. We got our food and both of us finished as she stood there talking. She was holding that tables dishes for 10 minutes until her older-looking manager/boss came and took those dishes AND OURS and then STILL stood there for another 5 minutes. We then waited another 15 minutes after all of that to finally, FINALLY get our check. My wife had to leave and sit in the car because she was so frustrated with the experience. At least the prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for I suppose.
The staff here is pretty friendly, but I still had a long wait to get my tab, despite the fact the place was far from full. The prices here are really reasonable, for food and drink. Id consider stepping down on how you would like your burgers cooked, as asking for a medium got us all medium well. All in all, this place was good, and I would go back here.
The food was phenomenal. Their chef definitely knows what hes doing.POSITIVES:- food- location- drink selectionNEGATIVES:- food came out too quickly; normally this is not something I would consider a problem, fast service is definitely lacking these days. But this was almost too fast, we had only had the appetizer for 5 minutes or so before the entres followed. That made eating everything difficult- we sat down and had been sitting for a decent amount of time when a new group came in and took over the table directly behind us. The table had 6 seats but easily 15 people showed up to eat together. The people overtook us and literally forced out table into the back corner. With people leaning on our empty seats, bumping in to us on a regular basis, and the servers did nothing about it. Not that they necessarily could have done anything, but it was incredibly off-putting to leave a date having had 10 strangers ruin the evening.
Service was pretty terrible. We ordered something...they didn’t have it. Ordered another thing...they didn’t have it. Drink specials as advertised were not what they charged us on final bill. Bloody Mary was boring and watered down (one pickle and one olive floating at the bottom, kind of sad). Been sitting here for a while and no reason for delay as we’re one of the only parties here. This place used to be great, hopefully they get it back together.
For lunch this place is 3 stars. Its got an eclectic menu and the food is 3 stars worthy- decent but not amazing. I would never choose to go here for dinner or drinks. It doesnt have much ambiance and doesnt seem that clean or well taken care of. In a city with lots of options, this wouldnt make my list.
We live very close to Mill Creek Tavern. We go there Monday nights for their $5.00 burger night and Wednesday for 50 cent wing night. The burgers and wings are very good, Recommend the mill creek Burger! That said the service can be slow, very slow, Very very slow. And it can get VERY LOUD!!! yes Im shouting, to talk across the table. I would give them 5 stars if not for the long wait times for food and loud environment. 2 Cents Please
Tonight was my first time eating at Mill Creek Tavern, and it was pretty awesome! Madeline was our server tonight and she was great! Madeline was the first server we have ever had that could keep my wifes fish like thirst satisfied. My burger was cooked perfectly and the cheese stuffed pretzel bites were what Ive wanted for a while!! The atmosphere was just right!! We will be back for sure! Thanks!
It was a place to eat . . . There wasnt anything really special about it. I had a chicken southwest salad. The chipotle ranch was too spicy to eat. The chicken on my salad was overdone and had a weird texture (like chicken that came from a can). The other people at my table had some good looking food, though. I just dont think I would recommend a salad to anyone; it was definitely not worth the $10.50 that they charged for that size of a salad. The apple pie was less like a pie and more like a turnover with chocolate drizzled on it, which was a weird, unappetizing combination. It was very loud, but they recommended the flamingo side of the restaurant, which was much quieter and allowed for conversations.
My fiance and i went here around 6:30 pm, it was loud despite it only having maybe 20 patrons. we sat down and got asked what to drink about five minutes later. we both ordered iced tea to be safe and waited another 5 min or so to get our drinks. while waiting we noticed 1 bartender and 1 waitress working even though it was $5 burger night. About fifteen minutes later we were asked for our order and i ordered the olive burger (medium temp when asked) with sweet potato fries and my fiance ordered the fish tacos with sweet potato fries. within 2 minutes the waitress returned to the table and asked about my fiances sweet potato fries and said that they were not included and that they would cost extra.... no problem.. since we were both pretty hungry at this point we ordered breaded mozzarella sticks. once our drinks were empty of very weak iced tea, around 30 minutes later the waitress and the im assuming manager came to our booth with very very well done mozzarella sticks and ranch and stated that they were all out of marinara sauce and offered for us to pick a different app and keep the mozzarella sticks at no charge. we politely agreed and picked the smoked whitefish dip with pita chips. Around 20 minutes later the fish dip and our entrees arrived at the same time. my olive burger was really really well done... kinda crispy, the only good part of it was the olives. the fish tacos didnt taste like anything even though claiming to have house made Wisconsin cheddar sauce on them they were fairly inedible and the whitefish dip was also very bland. the only decent tasting thing of the night was the sweet potato fries. 20 min or so after finishing eating what little we could swallow to keep our appetites at bay and pushing our plates to the end of the table, we finally go another visit from the waitress, asked for the check, waited 5 min or so... got the check, placed card in immediately, waited 20 min, waitress picked it up and cashed us out. just before 9 pm we left, hungry, feeling kinda gut rotten, and wasted $24 on nothing decent to eat even though the tavern actually didnt charge us for either appetizer. long story short.... dont come here for the food or the service unless they have a major kitchen/service overhaul. not good.
Downtown prices for hole in the wall experience. Mediocre American fare. We paid $50 for 2 burgers, 3 beers, and a tip. We would have been comfortable paying $25-30. The food was ok. Service was friendly. Decor charmingly rustic (read hole in the wall) though we live across the street we will not be back. Would rather go to Stellas or Hopcat for better, cheaper burgers.

2022-02-25Once again no pictures, but only because it took so long to receive our meals we were all starved and more than ready to eat. That said, I give them a pass on the service because they are only 4 days into their reopening at the hopefully end of the pandemic and all the problems brought on by that. I can say the new owner was very helpful and friendly, as were the several servers that waited on us. As for the food, it was worth the wait, I had the Bacon Jam Burger along with both the chips and fries, they were very tasty. The servers recommended the House Ruben and after a little confusion on whether they were available it was discovered the YES they were available and those that ordered them were pleased with with them and that they had lived up to expectations. The olive burgers were a hit too. All said for now I will give them a 3, because they went over and beyond to explain what was going on with the kitchen and staff, and they did everything they could to make things right and that we return. Hopefully the next time the kinks of opening will be worked out and the reach their full potential. The 9 of us did all agree that we will be back, and hopefully be able to give them a 4 or 5 star rating and based on their attitudes and determination I am sure the will.

2022-05-15We were in for a wedding from Denver and Mill Creek was suggested as a place to eat and grab a drink. We were a party of 6 and everyone thoroughly loved every bite! The Bacon Jam award winning Burger was outstanding. The wait staff, cold beer and that owner dude “Scott” was so so nice and funny. He is in the right business for sure. Hey Mill Creek consider Denver or Fort Collins as your next location!!!! Thanks for a great meal!

2022-04-19Great service and food. The pickle fries were fantastic! Our server was attentive, but not hovering. We had the bacon jam burger with fries.Entrance to parking lot is easily missed and not marked. Heading east, it is the alley before the building.

2022-04-12After all the positive posts lately about Mill Creek Tavern, 4 of us decided to make the 30 minute commute and check them out. Love supporting local businesses, especially with new owners. Gave our experiences a 4 out of 5. We got the Philly cheese steak with sliced ribeye, perch dinner, beef burrito, bacon jam burger, with Scotts totts and smoked whitefish dip for appetizers. Most of it was great, except for 2 things. The smoked whitefish was all smoke flavor, like something out of a can, between the 4 of us we couldnt finish it. The burgers only come well done (very surprised) which really reduced the juiciness of the burger.Prices very reasonable, staff very friendly. Will be back again.
