Been living here for about 6 months now and we really love it. Though moving in was quite the nightmarish hassle - the management had to move our move-in date back by a month because of a tenant issue they had.But fast-forward that, things have been great. Weve not really dealt with maintenance very much, but when we have, they have been prompt and very friendly. Some fixes are not the best, but they get the job done so I havent much to complain about. The area is actually nice and quiet. Most of the neighbors Ive seen walking around are young adults, most often with a new puppy or fluffy dog. The landscaping is kept very well, and the snow shoveling + salting is pretty efficient. They also come in to our backyard to get the snow out, lay salt down - which we really appreciate.
The office staff refused to work with me when I had issues with ice and snow. I was 8 months pregnant and terrified I was going to fall constantly because my area was often skipped. Years after leaving, Im still dealing with issues with them. It was a fine place to stay if you dont factor in management.
I have lived here for a year now and I love it. The apartments are kept up very well, everything is clean and in great shape, and maintenance requests get processed quickly. Mill Creek is quiet and a great price for the amount of space you get in Ann Arbor. I think peoples main issue with MC is how they handle late rent payments, but if you pay your rent on-time you wont have any problems.
My boyfriend and I moved into our townhome in just a week! Rebecca responded very quickly to any question we had and was extremely helpful throughout the move-in process. From first contact to move in day the process was seamless and there were no ridiculous move-in fees. Even in the middle of a pandemic we got into an affordable, spacious townhome with ease and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our now home. Weve already recommended this place to friends and family.
Its a nice community, lots of fun events and a nice pool area. A word of caution though: Come through at night before signing up for a particular unit. They recently installed ridiculously bright floodlights on the side of some of the buildings in an attempt to light the parking lot from there, rather than from the street lamps surrounding the parking lots. If you are in a unit with an floodlight on it, or an adjacent unit, your patio is simply not usable at night. It feels like sitting in the middle of a maximum-security prison yard; you need to wear sunglasses or your eyes will be dazzled by the obnoxiously bright light. So if you think you ever might want to use your outdoor space after sundown, check out your potential unit to be sure you and your guests wont be sitting under a floodlight so bright it can be seen from space.
On the outside, Mill Creek looks like a decent place to live, however it does not take more than a few days of living here to realize that you moved into a complex filled with terrible neighbors and managed by people with no idea what they are doing. First off, they have no concept of decent maintenance. When we moved in our kitchen floor was covered in shards of broken glass, the wood under both sinks is extremely warped from water damage, weve had leaking pipes, and the gutters outside hadnt been cleaned in so long that the first time it rained we had water pour out, go through our walls, and leak into the kitchen. On a weekend while we were away someone attempted to break into our house by smashing out the sliding glass door, but luckily ran after they broke the first pane. We were not contacted that the event had happened and it took over a week to have the door replaced. We have also had multiple instances with the maintenance crew entering the house without permission. Management never let us know what they found out about the incident even though I was promised multiple times that they would. We also had a fun experience in which we had to stay inside of our unit all day because we had a new patio poured in front of our door with no forewarning, and the crew that did it messed our small yard up pretty bad. There are also a lot of terrible neighbors in complex. People come and go at all hours of the day blasting music in their cars, sometimes so loud that it will overpower my computers speakers on maximum volume. I can also guarantee that there is a decent amount of drug dealing around here, and I generally try not to walk around after dark. Ill stop the review here because its already getting very long, and this is only a small amount of the problems around here. Bottom line, go somewhere else!
I lived here for 12 months and always paid my rent in full on time. I moved out over a month ago and they still haven’t sent me my security deposit. That apartment was spotless when I left. Ive called one a week for the last 5 weeks and they keep saying that their corporate office is “processing the payment”. How long does it take to cut a freaking check? I just want my money back. These people are insane con men.
Moved in a few months ago. We have a great location and waited because we didnt like the configuration of the other homes so we dont have the complaints like the others and my neighbors are very quiet and respectful. The house itself has good space, especially with the basement which is a big plus. However, the all the floors squeak when you walk. I have never lived in a place with such noisy floors. it is disturbing. We have had maintenance issues. Seems like cheap fixtures and the appliances are at the low end. The electric stove has only one large cooking top and three small. I have only ever had stove with two large and two small. Also, the fridge is small considering this is a three bedroom. You can upgrade to a new kitchen but that will be an additional 200$ a month. Not worth it to me. On the positive, the space is great despite very noisy floors. Current maintenance is excellent and professional but still cheaper hardware at least in my estimation. Management is responsive. When we moved in we had issues with the carpeting and other things and they got on it right away. So, were satisfied on that end. It is a bit pricey but, we need the space so it works but its too early to tell if we will take another lease next year.
I grew up here. It was always a lovely place to live when Susan and the old crew worked there. Now they have destroyed the vibe of family orientation that it used to have by turning it into a place for college students. It is so unfortunate. I wanted to move home (Mill Creek) when I returned back to Michigan, but now I could never feel at home here again! Sometimes you can ruin a good thing,.....this is one of those things. It didnt need to be touched its original beauty sold itself. And now it is ridiculously overpriced. So sad people are so greedy for money. The 5 star rating I gave is solely based on the beauty that once was Mill Creek.
Living there was fine, particularly with the help of Demitrius, who was a property manager that moved us in. Since leaving, it’s been an awful experience. To begin, when we moved in, I was completely disappointed with the state of the townhouse. The model house was great. Ours, on the other hand, had dried dog poop in the yard from the previous renter, and the bathroom was a mess because the side of the sink, which was faux wood paneling, was scrapped up like a dog was scratching at it. Other things - dents in the walls nails pointing out, the door getting stuck, mold in the shower - were not ideal but in the realm of expected. When I turned the sheet in, I told Demetrius how disappointed I was in the state of the place.Fast forward. I move out and end of August, follow up because we didn’t receive our deposit back yet. The person I spoke with (I think Michelle) said she’d follow up and she did, saying they had to pull up the carpet and install new ones in the townhouse. I replied that I didn’t understand because we actually got a carpet steamer to clean the carpet before we left, we didn’t have any pets, and there were existing problems (eg the bathroom sink etc) that I documented in my move in statement. I asked to please have an explanation. She said she’d follow up. She did, said they lost my move in statement / review, so they’d give me my deposit back. Here it is, months later-Dec 1- and still nothing and no getting back to me when I’ve tried following up through email and phone.Ridiculous. Whereas I mentioned to the staff when I moved out, I enjoyed my stay, my opinion has completely changed.Oh, and I’ve been dealing with the dry cleaners with whom Mill Creek has come pick up stuff from their front office since September. I used the service a couple times and turned my bag in when I left Mill Creek. Apparently, my information is still tied to that bag and/or address so the dry cleaners have tried charging me for new bills. Luckily I’ve gotten a new card since then so the transaction was declined. Still, I get emails re: those bills (though the dry cleaners are nice and are looking into it and have said they know it’s not my account and to ignore the emails). What a hassle. If I were to choose again, I’d avoid Mill Creek altogether
Ive been here for almost 3 months and love it so far. The community is very friendly and quiet. Perfect for young professionals and small families. Maintenance issues are taken care of right away and the staff is super nice. The pool and amenities are very beautiful and well kept. Not to mention it is pet friendly with lots to places to walk you pets :)
I am a week into unpacking my belongings in to my townhome.I toured the townhomes with Kyle and was signing my lease within 3 days, the process was easy and fast. The units are well maintained and exactly what I was looking for in my new home (ground level, fenced in yard, ability to customize my space).
Living here has been a great experience. Myself and my fiance have lived in one of the ranch-style townhomes for over a year and I say that we couldnt be more happy. The service team is always prompt and polite, and the sales staff always greet you with a smile. 7/5 stars
My family and I lived in Mill Creek for seven years. It became a home for us since we are immigrants. It has woods, park, and a pond and we enjoyed living there a lot. We loved living in Mill Creek Townhomes but we have to move for a job. We highly recommend this place and we would love to live there again.
Really enjoyed our year and a half at Mill Creek. The location is ideal - a few short miles from downtown Ann Arbor, located on an AATA bus route that drops off at U of Ms campus, right next to Mary Beth Doyle wetland preserve where you can walk your dog, play disc golf and enjoy nature, close to the highway as well for easy travel. The staff at Mill Creek was exceptional. Whenever we had an issue (which was a rare occurrence), they helped us through it. They didnt just resolve the issue, but they contacted us afterwards to give us follow-up and closure. We liked going to the community activities, but theres no pressure to attend. Finally, when we told the staff at Mill Creek that we were moving, they helped us find another home in our new city and put us in contact immediately with the right people to get our application process started. Id feel comfortable living in any Village Green community based on our experience.
All staffs are very nice!BTW townhome is really old and area is so bad.I moved last June.4~5 time electric shut down. And ants and any other bugs easy to accessed in my place.Doors are hard to open and close🤦🏻♀️Cabinet is old! (Some unit had renovated but not mine)Finally!!Today morning when I opened the basement door, waters in the basement!!!! Tadda!!!I don’t know what happen just mad ! Worry about all of my stuffs where in basement .+ updateThey’re fixed my door now it is easily open and close. (Very quickly)And give some offer what I can move to renovation unit when I renew the contract. (Of course with increased price and I will not😬)And my stuffs are (flooded in basement) all most (all Summer electric appliances, books, boxes, baby’s toys, electric synthesizer and etc) gone to trash. My insurance was not cover the basement they said it is option (woohoo!) if you want to move here I would recommend please add this option. Also recommend use the shelves.
The property manager Brittany is super unprofessional. We have been working with her to move into an apartment THIS WEEKEND and she ghosted us on signing a lease until last minute. She still has not provided us with the moving cost sheet that she said she would have for us last Friday. I contacted her today, three days before we are supposed to move in, only to get an automatic reply that says she is out of the office until next Tuesday.
Staff is accommodating, helpful and really seems to care about their residents. Great townhomes, great staff, timely maintenance, grill-out Thursdays and Taco Tuesdays. I ate so many burgers, hot dogs and tacos I felt like Hansel and Gretel put together. 10/10. Would recommend.
This place is truly aweful. The management all seem nice enough, but i lived here for a year and had no end of terrible experiences with the neighbors and the apartment itself. The townhomes with basements are disgusting, the wiring is terrible, plumbing has probably never seen better days, maintenance is aweful, and there is not weather proofing to keep the electricity/heating bills down. In my opinion this place should be torn or burned down. trust me, you DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE. If anyone would like i could attach pictures of how undeniably disgusting my basement was after a year of flooding with dirt and insects constantly being washed into the basement and water seeping in through the floor... in spite of multiple maintenance requests that were VERY poorly fulfilled. And how, when my roommate used a humidifier when she was sick, thick sludge oozed from the walls because clearly a previous tenant was a smoker and instead of cleaning they painted over the stains. In the last month or so my roommate and i didnt even have internet because the power constantly shutting off damaged our router. I feel like i should also add that there was a HUGE cockroach problem for the whole year that i was there in spite of multiple attempts by professionals to remove them in our apartment which probably means that our whole building was infested so trying to treat our apartment alone did not make a difference.
Mill Creek Townhomes rock! I moved here from Texas and Rob and Michelle made my move easy, quick, and painless. Rob even helped me carry my mattress upstairs! I absolutely LOVE my town home!! You cant beat having a basement either!!! Its nestled in a quiet area of Ann Arbor with a park within walking distance.
This place is terrible. I would recommend moving just about anywhere else. From B&E, to loud parties and drug dealers, to maintenance problems, Mill Creek has it all. We have had nothing but trouble here from the very beginning. They day we moved in we discovered that our new home had not even been cleaned, as I stepped on a piece of glass and got it stuck in my foot. Nothing like having to sweep up broken glass before you can move in furniture. Not long after my (indoor only) cat got fleas, which I can only assume is from the lack of cleanliness of the previous residents, and the complexs having done the bare minimum (if anything) with preparing it for us. We have a tree in our yard, which I had been very excited about. Only the maintenance crew did not clean out the gutters when the leaves fell, so when it rained, I came home to find my kitchen soaking wet, because water was running in from the bottom of the wall near my front door. The communication is terrible, and they do nothing to actually solve the problems you are having. Our bathroom fan has leaked since we moved in, and they wont fix it. They come in and say You need that fan replaced, but instead of replacing it, they shove some more insulation up there, and wait until we complain again in another month. The safety of the neighborhood is also not great. We have quite a few neighbors who are sketchy at best. My boyfriend and I went out of town for a weekend, and came back to find the first pane of our slider door totally broken. When you looked, you could see that somebody tried to tap the glass, but failed. The police said it was an attempted breaking and entering, but when the glass shattered they probably ran off. Even more disturbing? A neighbor (one of our only good ones) contacted the office about it, and they didnt do a damn thing. They didnt even feel the need to contact us!! Apparently they tried to get in on Friday night, and we found it when we got home on Sunday night. If that doesnt make you feel nice and safe, I just dont know what will.Unfortunately, this is not the last of my complaints. My boyfriend and I are currently trying to find a way to get the hell out of here. Dont make the same mistake we did. STAY AWAY!!
While the location and actual townhomes are decent the management and maintenance staff is awful. When I first moved in my door had a hole at the bottom where the door was wearing away. I submitted multiple maintenance requests, but they did not get around to replacing the door for over 6 months and we just had to deal with the bugs and higher heating bill due to the cold draft that would come in. When discussing a renewal deal with Pat, we were sent a new lease to sign. After looking over the lease we emailed him back with some questions we had. He did not reply to us for over a month! We called and left messages for him and emailed him multiple times. When we finally got a chance to talk with him a month later he said we waited too long to sign and the agreement was no longer available. From my experience you have to be very persistent if you want to actually achieve anything when working with the staff.
I’ve just moved out after a 5 years. Excellent experience. Anytime I had a maintenance issue it was taken care and done right. Pool is well kept and has really nice patio furniture and day beds. The entire staff has always been very nice and easy to work with. Thank you
My time at mill creek has far exceeded my expectations. Most of the price points in Ann Arbor seemed a bit high up front but after living here I don’t think there is a better bang for your buck than living here. The overall space of the townhomes, the community like atmosphere, and just being located within minutes of any entertainment located in Ann Arbor are just a few reasons why I live calling this place home. Would recommend to anyone looking to move in the A2 area.
Horrible. Nothing gets fixed, takes months for them to fix anything and the only reason they do is because we(roommate and I) have to go to the office or call everyday to get it done. Had a service man just walk into our home while my roommate and I both were asleep, then got mad because our dogs charged the random stranger in the house. Yard is never cut unless we go to the office and tell them we are not paying for this service anymore, moved in April 2015 had the yard done 3 times, it is now September 2015. Last but not least have a tow policy where the person who wants to tow, has to be able to prove that it is thier spot. Straight from Shelbys mouth when I spoke with her. However I had to pay $225.00 to get my car out of impound, and they DO NOTHING to compensate that, other than pass out flyers high lighting each persons spot. Funny because they pride themselves on their excellent customer service, over priced and over rated.
As a kid and a pre-teen I enjoyed living at Mill Creek - I got to meet a lot of my friends at this town-home both my sister and my mother lived at this location. But sorry to say when I was living with my mother we fell on hard times and couldnt afford the place so I ended up living with my sister until I fully moved out when I was 14 years old cause. Things happen in life..Your company wouldnt remember my family or I who have stayed there but... When I was living there.. I enjoyed being with my friends and having a blast during the summer, and I still remember falling asleep by the pool and almost looked as red as a lobster.Thats coming from the kid/pre-teen days of my life and as I now remember as a adult who now lives in a different state...
If you enjoy living with bugs, I would suggest living here. Also, of course the staff is aware of the problem, but nothing will be done about it. They will have someone come spray which whether it actually happens or not, wont work anyways. Save your money and find somewhere else to live.
HIGHLY OVER-PRICED for what you are paying for and THE MAINTENANCE IS LAZY.The townhomes are kind of on the older side so maintenance is pretty much mandatory but the maintenance service is poor. The neighboorhood is pretty safe and thats about the only upside. But I would not recommend anyone to move to the neighborhood unless you are extremely desperate or is fully willing to pay lots of money for something not worth what you are paying for.
Ann arbor is a lovely town, but all of the scum live near here, my neighbors house just got broken into over labor day weekend and just this Tuesday someone tried to break in to my home as soon as my boyfriend left for work in the morning. I scared off the intruder. I would not feel safe living here by myself, there are consistent parties on weekdays with loud rap music and shady looking strangers that ask to come in and hang out. AVOID this is the equivalent to the ann arbor GHETTO!
My family and I have lived here for about 5 years at first things were good until time went on and I realized how unprofessional office staff is not sure if the same people are there (sales consultants) because it’s always someone new but management has been the same Which is horrible the basements flood all the time so make sure you have great rental insurance if you can avoid the hassle of being a mill creek resident you should I’m very excited to be leaving this complex of foolishness.

2022-06-235 stars from start to finish! Brittany was so helpful and efficient in my initial inquiry and application. Andrew is fanatic and helped me in every way needed and beyond. His customer service and attention to future and current residents is extremely impressive, and I’m so happy to call this my home! Application and move in was quick and easy. Beautiful location, units, and amenities. Thank you to Megan for the referral!! ❤️

2022-02-28Be careful, theyll throw out your groceries if you leave them on the porch too long. $250+ was basically stolen from us by this complex and now we have no food for the month. Stay far away.Edit to add based on property response: the boxes were not decomposed AND no one reached out to contact us before disposing of them, as proven by phone records, despite what they are trying to say. Theyre trying to discredit me to save their own reputation.

2022-01-27Awful living experience. Lights haven’t worked since we moved in. Uneven floors. Basement floods and the plumbing is dated. We have consistent toilet back ups and shower clogs. They also increase your rent every year. I wouldn’t recommend anyone move here.

2022-06-27Edit: dropped down a star because its so annoying that there isnt a water spiket in every yard. My neighbor put up a huge fence so I have no way to water my plants except to bring buckets from my kitchen sink. Also they changed management and things seem to be becoming slightly more commercial. But I really love the customer service here, when i moved out they were helpful and cool. I got all my deposit back which after being there for 4 yrs with a dog and cat, I was happy for!Old Review: Ive lived here for over two years now and I really love it here. My home is a great size and I absolutely cannot hear my neighbors through my walls which are surprisingly thick! I live on an end unit, which I highly recommend because you get one more window, and I think our house gets a lot of natural light which is important to me. I especially love that my backyard space has a fence so it really makes me feel like its my space and I dont have to look at my neighbors. But what really makes me happy about living here is the location and the staff. Im close to downtown (10 mins by car) and Im also close to Ypsilanti and Saline (15 mins). So I am in the perfect location to do anything I might want. Theres a bus stop just outside our complex and the neighborhood has beautiful scenery especially with the nature preserve at the end of the street. The staff are the shining quality of Mill Creek Townhomes. Im quite thankful to have such nice people to help me out. They are always kind and personable, and have never made me feel like Im asking a stupid question. They host events every month (trivia, cookouts, book club, yoga (pre-covid)) and try hard to get the community involved in various competitions. The maintenance crew is always so nice and helpful too!The grounds of the complex are by and large, very pretty, especially in the summer. I do wish they would plant more trees, they started taking some down and I feel thats what made this place so pretty. And I think some of the houses could definitely be better maintained, in terms of their front yard (which the complex is responsible for).

2021-10-24I wanted to give a shout out to Rebecca in the leasing office and Mill Creek Townhomes as a whole! The single level ranch home meets my accessibility requirements and is beautiful on top of that. Rebecca has made my application process easy. I appreciate her friendliness and it has helped me feel calmer after coming out of a stressful living situation on top of moving. I visited the Mill Creek property last week once I was approved and it was truly beautiful, meticulously maintained, the grounds were very serene, and I love the community already. It was wonderful seeing folks walking their cute dogs on my visit. Nowhere can be totally perfect but this is perfect for me! I am looking forward to my move in date in November. Thank you all for being awesome!

2020-06-11My husband and I lived here for almost two years. The apartments themselves are decent, you get what you pay for and it’s not the best. We did not have the problem with the basement flooding other people have mentioned but did get bugs occasionally in there. The real problem is the management or lack thereof. When we moved in, our apartment had a gate where most other apartments just have an opening in the fence for access to the back door. Cool. However, after living there for 8 months, we suddenly received a note on our door saying they would no longer be mowing our lawn, although our rental payment includes this service. Okay, annoying but we got a cheap weed eater and did it ourselves. They also failed to salt during bad weather including when we had Winter storm warnings in advance. At the time I was 8 months pregnant so it would have been nice not to slip and slide every time I left for work. One night I left around 6pm to grab something from a friend and returned to a notice saying our parking lot was going to be resurfaced the next morning and not to park on our assigned parking spots. Gee, Thanks for the notice. Obviously some of my neighbors didn’t see the notice since it was placed after most people were home for the night and they started first thing in the morning the next day. But don’t worry. They towed those cars out of the way at the owners expense. We contacted them multiple times about breaking our lease as we were moving out of state and had to pay a huge fee to get out of it which we happily paid to be rid of this place. However, we had to call multiple times to get a clear answer on what all they needed from us and were constantly told that nobody knew anything about it except the property manager. Which may be true but she was never around to give us any information. Our lease ended in the middle of the month, but their online payment system said we owed the full amount. After trying to ask them about this multiple times, we gave up and paid it, expecting to get our money back since they wrongfully charged us. Big mistake. We have asked repeatedly for our money back and the property manager said they were “hanging onto it” in case we had any damages to the apartment. Um, excuse me? We paid a non refundable security deposit already when we signed the lease for that. Now it’s been several months and they will not respond to our multiple emails asking for our money back.Good luck if you rent from this place, none of them know what’s going on but will happily swindle you out of money. By the way we had more problem as well but these are just the glaring ones.

2020-07-05I lived at Mill Creek for a 6 month lease to try it out; here are my takeaways:Pros:Friendly office staffFriendly maintenance staffNearby park (Mary Beth Doyle)No one above or below you due to townhome styleMany young couples and small familiesCons:Despite multiple maintenance visits and tickets, the furnace was old and didnt regulate temperature very well. Many times I would HOLD the heat to 70 degrees in the winter, only to come home or wake up with the apartment around 60 degrees. Solution was to manually flip the furnace off and on a few times to get it to reset. Not the worst issue, but somewhat uncomfortable. Some basements flood (mine was near the park which the maintenance professional told me causes water runoff issues) and so in the spring water comes into the basement and maintenance personal have to use a shop vac to drain it. Dont store your stuff in the basement in the springtime or during heavy rainfall unless you want it ruined. Mill Creek will not reimburse you for lost storage space, which is a fair policy, but not great customer service.Drug deals from both residents and people using the location to sell drugs. (Obviously this is difficult to do anything about, but it is incredibly obvious/irritating when you see your neighbors walking up and selling drugs to various cars bumping music every couple days). Not the best area of Ann Arbor, so while any apartment community can have disruptive visitors, I definitely experienced more annoyances here than other communities I have lived at in Ann Arbor. The nearby park seemed to be a big reason for disturbances and non-residents in the area. If you do choose to live here, I would avoid that side of the community. However you get what you pay for. If you want quieter neighbors, you usually need to pay more for a higher end community. Its a simple trade-off.Last issue I experienced was a skunk family living under the patio doorstep for a month. Despite logged maintenance tickets and a notice to the manager, nothing was done about it while I lived there. Just had to use the back door in the mornings/evenings. No big deal.Overall, I would not recommend this community to my friends or family, but it served its purpose for a short term stay at a reasonable cost for the square footage.

2021-02-05This by no means reflects what I think of this place in its entirety, but I would like to say that Dan recently serviced our home and I will say that I love my new faucet! Short review.. my faucet was leaking Millcreek could have just fixed an old faucet that would probably leak again. But they did not Dan came , replace said faucet with a very beautiful upgrade and I love it! It actually makes my life easier as a mom. So thank you Dan for taking the time to do your job correctly and well.

2020-07-09All of the basements flood. Some more than others, but they all will flood. The owners have no intention of ever finding a long term solution. We keep all of our stuff in the basement up on pallets or on shelves not using the bottom shelf. The basements are however, are the biggest perk to living here and the reason we moved in. We have had great encounters with their maintenance team and the front office staff have been wonderful. With our dog we absolutely love living so close to the park.
