Tonight I came to see Elvis and had to go ask to have the curtains moved back asked for a Manger and was told there wasnt one?! Employees got an attitude asking if it was the movie playing or previews shouldnt matter! Paid to watch the whole screen. This is the second time thats happened this month. Came and seen Jurrisatic World on the 9th once again had to ask to have the curtains moved so you could see the whole screen. I dont know what the issue is there but I will not be back. Completely disappointed with the service and the attitude that was given.
Asinine rule of no kids under 6 after 6pm for pg13 movies, no exceptions. even when thereβs a total of 15 other people in the theatre with you, theyβll send you to another room or kick you out. mind you, no refund is offered. left with an upset kid seeing a disappointing movie
Always a good time, but I am really disappointed for the first time in 20 plus years of coming here. they dont allow a infant carrier for a small baby. Was told safety concerns for falling. I have a safety concerns without it. Anyone could fall on the property, so that was a horrible excuse. The seats and floor space is more than large enough to accommodate. I have used it before there for my first born with the old crowded seats that were ten times more dangerous than the recliner seats.. now you cant? I feel this should be modified. A lot of parents want to enjoy a movie and sometimes that carrier is everything and releases stress on families with little ones. And today would have been more relaxing and enjoyable if we had ours, I guess I will have to go elsewhere to enjoy movies with my family. Also no one knew what time the bar area opened? Employees showed know the operation hours.
Love the MJR in Adrian! I have been there three different times. First was to watch Kong vs Godzilla, second was Mortal Kombat, and thrid was The Batman. Everytime I went, the costumer service was excellent. They are always nice and they keep the whole building clean! Ill be back! Highly recommend the MJR in Adrian!
The updates to the theatre seem nice, larger chairs, new carpet, etc. Prices are typical. The railings, etc. seemed to not be clean. I was not impressed with service. Team members seemed distracted and not focused on getting patrons to their shows. Extra charge for on-line ticket purchase seemed unnecessary.
This was our first time here since they remodeled late last year. The new lobby, restrooms and bar were very nice and so clean. I loved being able to reserve our seats ahead of time and getting in with our confirmation email was seamless. The theaters now have reclining seats, which were very comfortable and the theater was very clean. We typically have a good experience here but all of the updates make it a GREAT experience!
We went for a Christmas Day showing. Line was long but pushed through fast. If you purchase tickets online you can skip the line all together. Bathrooms were clean and the new recliners are very comfortable. They do serve alcohol in the bar area and have many options for refreshments. Overall the buildings remodel is nice!
I love this theater! They remodeled a while ago and it is now a top-notch movie going experience. They have reclining chairs, a bar, and free popcorn/drink refills. If you are part of the rewards program, you can see any movie at $6/ticket on Tuesdays and get FREE popcorn!!!! Yes please!
Exceptionally nice decor and comfortable seats. Also very clean. Bathrooms very clean. The people in Adrian are some of the most courteous and nice people around. The floors were void of stickiness and popcorn common in other movie theaters Ive been to. Attendants were all so nice and smiling.
Update edit: Love the new seats they are comfy. Love how easy it is to check seat availability online, And purchase seats before you go. Best part is i no longer need to travel to Saline Mi. To get a good movie experience.Nice place but feel squashed i when i sit next to anyone. Ill upgrade my rating once i try out the new seats they have coming in.
Updates are nice, but recently they changed how they approach customers. My wife and kids bring blankets in because of how cold they get the first time in years we been going they asked us to shake the naked to insure we were not bringing candy in. Also they requested to search my wifeβs purse, no privacy at all. Use to be one of our favorite theaters but now we will most likely never come back.
I rarely write reviews, but I had to write one for this theater. To keep things in perspective, I drive all the way from Toledo just to come to this theater pretty often. When I pulled up to the theater I was expecting something entirely different than what I experienced(not the most impressive looking theater from the outside). The employees are nice and attentive and service is prompt. The theater is actually CLEAN and the seats are comfortable. The screen is surprisingly good. Ive heard better sound, but its definitely adequate, no complaints. Most importantly, prices wont make you feel like youve been robbed when you leave. This keeps people coming back. This is how businesses should be ran.
The new seats are so comfortable! I used to travel to Monroe to watch movies because they had nicer seats, but now that MJR has improved them, I love going there. I also recommend using the rewards program, even if you dont watch movies often. The rewards are all run through the app, and make it super easy to use. I also recommend purchasing tickets on the app ahead of time, that way you can get the seats you want, and skip the line when you come in.
The staff at MJR are personable and very helpful. I enjoyed the new reclining seats and a staff member went out of his way to show me how to raise the arm in order to make the transfer to/from my wheelchair more easily. My one complaint is that there was no way of telling which of the 10 viewing areas would be showing the movie I wanted to see. I dont understand why.
This is my favorite theater to go to. Their popcorn is always fantastic and they dont charge you for extra butter or seasonings like other places. Always go to a matinee showing, or when they have summer deals. The rewards you get from being a member are also superb. The seats are comfortable but it can get a little cold in the theater. The fact that its an old theater does not bother me, but Im excited to see how it looks when its updated.
The customer service and quality of product is always exceptional at the Adrian MJR. I was so excited when they were able to open back up on the 9th. I often go see movies that I may not necessarily be interested in, but go to see just to support the theatre in any way I can. This theatre has been a huge part of my life since I was a little kid, I hope it sticks around for as long as I live. They deserve 10 stars but unfortunately 5 is the limit on here lol
So i recived a call today from the manager and i came to a conclusion i had to change my review the way he handled it was incredible this mjr location has been part of my life for over 18 years i didnt want to let go having so much fun with my family and friends and now things are cleared up i must say this place is forever for me thank you
Edit: The updates were finally completed. This is hands down the best movie theater! Its exactly the same from 20+ years ago. This is the same theater that I went to for my first movie in 1997, through my teen years and so on. One thing remains the same MJR theater! I love it here BUT they need updates. Nearly all of the bathroom stall doors are broken or have had to modifications to them so they can shut. The bathrooms are also very cold, the sinks are aged terribly. My daughters hate washing their hands because the water doesnt warm up much and when the air is cold its almost painful. They keep saying the new chairs are coming but its nearly been a year now and nothings updated.Other than those complaints, everything is fine. I enjoy MJR as a kid and now my children do too. I also like that you have kept the payphone box, it reminds me of calling my parents for a ride home. LOL
Staff is polite and friendly (mostly younger people, but still good). Very clean environment. As pricey as you would expect at a theater. Decent selection of films. Movies all kind of start and end at the same time, so all the transitioning happens at roughly the same time. Movies dont go super late. Overall quite satisfied.
We went and saw a movie at 10 pm and got pop and popcorn from the snack stand. We wanted a second pop and popcorn after the movie started and they shut down the snack stand. So you could not get a refill. Not even one person their. The seating is good and the popcorn is fresh.
Remodel of theater is nice, seems ridiculous to have to pick your seat at the front when you purchase your ticket for a movie that has less than 20 people in the movie. Bar service seems like you are just asking for problems, if you cant watch a 2 hour movie without an acholic beverage then maybe you should just wait for it to come out on DVD. Bathrooms are the nicest upgrade to this theater.
The facility is good, always showing the latest movies. I prefer to only go during matinee time due to the prices. However once you buy anything to eat the price just skyrockets! For a family of four at the minimum for admission and two kids boxed popcorn with drink and gummy bears and a large popcorn and a pop it cost us 50 to $60. I would much rather just wait to see it in the comfort of my own home. However sometimes the kids want to go to the movies.
We went to see frozen 2. We had to pick seats we had never seen. Had to go back and have them change our seats as they have screen to close to the seats. Said the seats in F were reserved but have of the reserved seats NOBODY showed up. I think they blocked out seats on purpise.
This is our go-to theatre; others are actually closer but we prefer MJR. The movie selections are great, never have any problems with staff, snack prices are high but so are any other places. We like the Tuesday matinees especially during the winter months. I saw another reviewer mentioned the carpets needing cleaning and Id have to agree with that but overall we have always had postive experiences here.
Looks great but when i got my popcorn i had sat it down in butter while i was putting butter on my popcorn. So i asked for a new bag n the manager on duty said he wasnt able to n tried to give me a brown lunch bag. I asked why n he said rules are rules like what do that mean.
Priced fair, considering other theater pricing,is more. I will give them 5 stars, when they update mens restroom, and install partitions between urinals, for kids safety, and more importantly sanitary issues. Its rather disgusting when urinals are within inches of each other, and sanitary measures are not in place. Other public facilities have them installed.
So my friend and I were watching a rated R movie. Our guardian bought us and her a ticket our guardian left as we went to see the movie with our uncle . After the previews they proceeded to kick us out even after we told them we were here with our uncle. The manager did not seem to care and had no respect and was very very rude as we were leaving the movie theater truly truly shameful that our American movie theaters do not allow underaged teenagers watch death and Murder P.S Why do you have better chairs in the lobby than in the actual theater?
It badly needs an update. All the workers seem to be unsupervised and untrained teens who dont know how to be courteous to customers. They sort of just address everyone with a zombie like demeanor, besides not wanting to eat brains, that is. Im guessing its because theyre filled with rage for being forced to put down their phones and communicate with live people. lol.A manager really needs to step in and teach these kids about customer service, banter, and smiling.
This theater is very small and old and can get very congested in the lobby when there is a popular movie or a discounted replayed movie. They also have odd ways of doing their rewards and usually the employees are not really friendly. I prefer going out of town to see movies if I can
I walked up to the door at 10:10 like I often due because I hate the previews. The doors were locked, kid comes to the door and says were closed. I said the last show starts at 10 you guys never close early like this, he looked me in the eyes and chuckled at me and said well its not 10 anymore, a teenage girl then walked around me and my son and he stepped out of the way and let her enter the theater. He then turned around and shut the door. I drove 30 min to get to the theater and we always go to this place. I will now go to Hillsdale or Jackson if I wanna go to the movies!
The day before the showing I checked the website for show times. A movie said it started at 12:30 but didnβt really start for an hour later and I confronted the person selling tickets and she said the show times posted in the theater were the ones from the website, which I do believe her but I just gave her a friendly reminder when I checked times before coming in it said 12:30. Bought the tickets anyway but the lady doing the tickets told her manager and was at the refreshments and the manager didnβt handle the situation well at all. The manager was speaking very loudly about how there website was right and how the βguestβ needs to double check next time because they arenβt right and how I needed to change my attitude because they werenβt going to change showtimes for me. Maybe being the manager isnβt for her π€·π½ββοΈ Like I said I didnβt care I just bought tickets for the later movie. I just think the management staff shouldnβt speak loudly when they know the person is standing right there and maybe they just shouldnβt say anything at all and just ask the staff if they made the correction to me about showtimes.
I was not comfortable during the movie. One of the employees was standing looking over the half wall the entire movie, which happened to be next to where we were sitting. He went over to the people in our row and said something to them during the movie and after that, I looked up occasionally and he was staring at me. I have never experienced this during a movie, it ruined my evening. No one was loud or disruptive and I dont understand why he would have the permission to spend that much time in a movie. I noticed the manager when I left but was too upset to tell him. I hope it was an exception and he is never hovering in my movie again. He was creepy and it was inappropriate.
The staff was extremely rude here, I had my knees up on the chair in front of me in an EMTPY theatre and an employee came in to interrupt the movie to yell at me. As well, I have dietary restrictions so I brought in a drink of my own and they came in AGAIN to interrupt the movie and threaten that we have to leave or give the drink up. If they would have asked kindly or shown kindness, I wouldnt be writing this. But they were EXTREMELY rude.
Went to see Star Wars today, 1/4/16 in theater #9. Movie was not what I expected. Would be nice to have some backstory on the new characters. Effects were good. Overall the movie was ok.The presentation was dismal. Picture was dim, focus looked soft and the audio was just bad. Volume to low. For some reason the ceiling lights shine in your eyes for the entire movie.I sat 5 rows up center screen. Sitting closer may be better?
Its the only theater in town. Its not horrible, Ive seen worse, but I think theyd be in real trouble if someone with a bit of money to invest opened up a slightly more updated theater in town. Patrons dont come here because they want to, they dont have any other choice.
We were disappointed that the movie times change without notice. We looked at times yesterday and went to the show today to find that the start time had moved earlier and the feature show had started. Some other people complained also.We talked to the manager who seemed sympathetic but we were offered nothing in the way of customer goodwill. At least post online the different times the day before.
Came to watch king author for mothers day. They told me I couldnt bring my 7 month baby in. Thanks alot for wasting my gas and money. You also loss out on 3 adults +3 pop and popcorn. And we will no longer be returning.(We have brought her here 4 times befor and never had a problem.)
Went to MJR tonight reserved 4 seats for my sister, niece thats 8, my daughter that is 10 and me to see the movie get there and had to stand in line for 20 mins due to know reserve kiosk like every other movie theater has then get to the ticket stand finally and they say that the movie is sold out and we wouldnt be able to sit by each other due to not having a reserve section like every other theater mind you we have kids with us and not into our children sitting next to strangers in a dark theater.so therefore all they did was refund the money to the card that is in limbo of processing for who knows how long and never even recurved a apology or compensation for the inconveniences it caused let alone the upset in the kids. I actually go to MJR very often but after that I guess I will be taking my business else where to a theater that is up to date with technology of the times and know how to treat there customers.
*****THEIR RULES*****22 yrs of coming to this theatre! 7 children-numerous neices & nephews & extra children and now...I am Not a happy camper. We take our 5 yr old grandson to go see Bumblebee....& we get told he cant go in after 6 pm. ARE you kidding me!Their rule after 6 p.m. what makes it different than a 4 oclock show?
I went to pre order my tickets for the x-men movie and they wouldnt answer the door i asked to pay for a movie said no wait 10 mins. Serious Im here for public consumption and the girl and staff are rude shut the door in my face. Yea work on customer satisfaction, because Im not paying for your additude brah....

2021-12-23The new upgrades are so amazing. We havenβt went to see a movie since before the pandemic happened. We lived in Texas then. It was really nice !We just went and saw sing 2 today with a 7,5 and two year old. It went great. Very clean. My kids were happy.

2022-01-24I absolutely LOVE the upgrades that were made to the theatre! They also added a bar, which is pretty cool! The popcorn is always so good (even if you donβt go see a movie, you can buy their popcorn πβ€οΈ). I only wish they would update their menu. Choices are slim and the pricing could be more reasonable, but isnβt that how it is all theaters?

2022-04-25We have never had a bad experience. Even ticket exchange for a new time or refunds are no hassle. Our grandkids still love going to the movies and for my husband and I the theater provides a nice relaxed date night option. Comfy Seats, many beverage options and usually a good variety of movie choices.

2022-06-03Was kicked out of a childrenβs film because my 5 year old son who rarely gets to go out to the movies wasnβt old enough (6 years old) to see a movie after 6 P.M. Thanks for wrecking my sons night Karen, I am sure you felt very big in front of your high school employees.Response: If bobs burgers (a cartoon) is not considered a family movie than Iβm not sure what would be able to have this exception?

2022-05-03I havent been to the movies in a long time. I was very pleased with the service. The new reclining seats are the best. The large size pop is huge. Surround sound is absorbing, really transports you into the movie. I had a great night at the movies. I watched Dune and enjoyed it thoroughly. This time I saw North Man. Same good experience. Well worth the money.

2022-06-22Wow! The chairs are so comfy, all they lack is a massage feature! Theater and public areas were clean, too. And reasonably priced! Check it out!

2022-04-15I hadnβt been to MJR Adrian in about 10 years, since before they βupgradedβ to reclining seats. My experience today is that their seats are only comfortable if you are at least 30% reclined. I found the seats almost painfully uncomfortable in the upright position. The seat is too deep for my legs unless I sat forward and no matter where my butt was positioned the back of the seat was at an awkward angle. The recline controls LED were positioned annoyingly in the visual corner of my eye but when tried to block that with my hand I kept activating the recliner so needless to say I was miserable for 2-1/2 hours. And The popcorn was excessively salty. I wonβt be going back.
