Monro Auto Service And Tire Centers in other cities:
I took my car to them.it turned over but wouldnt start..they said it was fixed charged me $600.less than 24 hours I was stranded on the side of the road with the same problem it had when I took it them.i had it pushed back to them was told it would be pulled in first thing in the morning at 2pm it hadnt even been looked at..very disappointed n very short on cash.
I had problems with my van, and Monro got me in the next day. They gave me a reasonable quote, which I approved, and they got to work right away. I got a call a few hours later, and it was ready. In the process, they managed to save me a few dollars off the quote.I really like the new manager, and I think you will also.
The only reason I go to them is because theyre the only place my warranty will cover. The first time I had problems they fixed it but I couldnt drive it home because of another issue. I literally couldnt drive it away Im not sure how they thought it was okay to send ithome. Then this time I had to take it in because there was ice in the starter and it wouldnt start. They had it for 4 days told me it was fine and I bring it home and the key is bent. I cant lock my door because its the only key. Definitely not going to even use the free oil changes from them it would be easier to do it myself.
Stopped in to get a tire filled, they couldnt help me. Half hour before posted closing time and the only mechanic had gone home... and locked his tool box. I wasn’t aware that pulling the air hose out to the car and sticking it on the valve required something from a tool box but what do I know.... I thought they were a tire service center!!!
Highly recommend them! They did all my breaks in about 2 hours, and when I mentioned I would be waiting there they offered to take me home in their company car AND pick me back up when it was finished! Prices are pretty average, but they are willing to beat any quote you bring in from another company. Staff was very friendly, engaging and knowledgable. They showed me all the things wrong with my car and explained everything to a T.Thanks guys!
This place is terrible I got 4 tire for my honda crv and the next day tire one of the tires exploded while I was driving. I called the place to tell them what happened and my paper work had stated guarantee up to a certain amount of miles. They said that I had to purchase a plan for protection on the tires. They never offered it to me or suggested putting some type of protection plan on them.
First time experience was great! But of course it was getting a new car thru a dealership they’re contracted with. Made an 1pm appointment and dropped my vehicle off 30 minutes early since being I would still be at work. I returned around 3:30 pm for them to tell me he never got to it and if I give him 15 minutes he will do it. I stated I already dropped my vehicle off 3 hours prior and at that point just told him I wanted my car back. Very unpleased especially since being I made an appointment 3 days before. All I needed was an oil change!! Not to mention the number of people inside without masks during this pandemic made me feel this place isn’t sanitary friendly.
I stopped by here on Thursday, 2/13/2020, for an oil change and an inspection on my wifes minivan as the exhaust had suddenly been very noisy. The staff was very friendly, fast, and honest. What I was expecting to be an expensive repair on the exhaust, ended up being a broken weld on the exhaust piping, which only cost $70. I was in and out, oil change complete and exhaust fixed (its back to being very quiet!) in under 45 minutes. I would highly recommend this location and look forward to my next experience there!
I had a great experience at Monro. Mike was incredibly friendly and helpful on the phone and they got my car in right away. They fixed the initial problem quickly, did an oil change, took a look at a tire I noticed had some metal in, and even went above and beyond with their inspection and corrected other misc items. I will certainly return to Monro for future vehicle needs.
Worst experience I have ever had at an auto shop. Brought my jeep in for a tire change. After an hour and a half they called me and said they couldn’t get the tires off the rims. I came back and as the guy was backing it out of the bay door the back end dropped. Turns out they put the wheel setup back on but didn’t put lug nuts on it. Dropped the axle right into the barrel of the rim. Absolutely unacceptable for a shop that specializes in tire service. If I could give negative stars I would.
I received coupons for free oil changes but after the service here Ill just pay for my oil changes somewhere else. I asked for my tires to be rotated the tech said he did it really because i watched you change the oil he then went back rotated tires in less then 15 minutes after leaving i lost a hub cap within a hour I lost 2 I contacted shop they said theyd replace I took a hub cap there so they could order Ive called 3 times since February 7th no one knows anything and I has no hubcaps Terrible service Ive never been contacted about my hub caps I never got any paperwork on oil change on fluid levels tire treads etc that you usually get with oil change I know you get what you pay for this is a sad business for sure never again
I just wanted to say Thank you to this amazing tire shop and their people! We got a flat at 3am on a Sunday Morning with speciality tires. Not only did we get extremely lucky that they had a tire to fit my car they understand our situation and went above and beyond to help get us on the road quickly knowing we had a baby waiting at the hotel and were already past check out! I can not express enough how Thankful we are that you were there to help us out! Thank you so much! Now our vacation can continue.
Went here for an oil change. Price was reasonable. Service was quick. The guys were friendly enough. I loved the fact that I came early so I didnt have to wait. I had been trying to get into Walmart for an oil change for about 3 weeks or so. These guys got me in and out, no problems. My only suggestion would be please get some comfortable chairs, lol!
I dropped off my 17 year old sons car to have his tire mounted on new wheels and have an alignment done. They mounted the tires but didnt do an alignment. Fast forward a few weeks when I was driving his car and pulled into a parking spot to hear all the air leave one of the tires. I had someone change the tire and saw that it was completely blown out on the inside. The best part is, Monroe KNEW that there was a bad spot when it was mounted because it was CIRCLED! My husband checked the other three tires and sure enough there was a second marked tire with a giant bulge that was also about to blow. Not only did Monroe lose a customer, they but my child in danger!!!!!!! Dont do business here!!!!!
I wouldn’t recommend going here for a few reasons. Firstly, I had to sit and wait two hours to even get a quote when I had an appointment set up for 1:30 and didn’t get a quote till about 3:30. Secondly, when the guy (Todd was his name) did give me a quote, he said that all I needed was my brake shoes replaced and drums turned and that it would take another 2 hours. I got a ride home and I called right before they closed and he said he was just finishing up. So I went to pick it up the next day, paid and drove away only to realize that my brakes didn’t engage until I put my foot all the way down to the floor. So I called and took it back to them and Larry, the manager, figured out that I had air in my brake lines and that Todd did not bleed the lines as he should have the night before. I wasn’t charged for the second time but I had to sit and wait another two hours for them to figure out what was wrong.Larry was very helpful and worked on it personally to get it done, but I’m very frustrated that I had to even go through that and that they didn’t pay attention to the actual problem. The guy that drove it after they finished it the first time had to have noticed that something wasn’t right when he had to hit the floor in order for the brakes to engage! So overall I wouldn’t recommend going here, I there was no attention to detail and the wait was insane! They should have caught the issue to begin with, and I could have gotten into a bad accident because they didn’t actually fix my brakes! When my fiancé asked for a discount because of our trouble and because he sent me away with not properly functioning brakes, we were told that we couldn’t have a discount because the brakes still worked technically... like seriously...They apparently strive for being trustworthy and all about customer satisfaction, well I can’t trust them and I definitely wasn’t satisfied so there ya go!
Very slow service. Needed my tire patched, they were closest. Called ahead, guy said no wait Ive got 2 guys standing around. I already had the rim off. After 30 minutes I asked if it would be much longer, I was rudely answered with - yeah. hes filling it up now. So as I write this it has been 45 minutes sense I rolled my tire in the front door. Still not done yet. I will not return, and would recommend looking elsewhere for service if you can. 53 minutes to patch a tire - wow
The staff are good, they got my vehicle in and out quickly and the brake job was done well. The big issue I had was I was called at 1pm saying my vehicle was done and I didnt pick it up until about 5:30pm. I did not leave until after 6:30pm. They could not enter my bill in correctly to check me out. It took an hour, in which I was the only one in line, for my paperwork to be done so I could pay. I should have went in and paid and been out in 5 minutes. In summary, employees are good, work is good, computer/billing system is HORRIBLE.
First off, brake job was messy and they forgot to put the brake fluid cap back on and I found it in my engine. Second visit they gave me my car back with the muffler incomplete. Like how did it pass the test drive when it sounded like a muffler slapping around? Im not sure.
Larry was great to work with. He gave us a rough estimate up front. We left our vehicle with him overnight. In the morning he called to say we only needed two brakes replaced not all four - who does that? Highly recommend this location and Larry in particular. I know where well go if our other vehicle needs work.
I’ve recently moved to Kalamazoo,MI and have seen many of these Monro auto & tire centers. I pass by the one on Sprinkle Rd at least 10 times a week, I thought I should give them a try. My first time to Monro is today; an oil change. I usually go to Midas for the oil change. Last oil change was at the Midas off Westnedge in Portage and I was WAY over priced- about $80 and given the wrong oil. Not here at Monro on Sprinkle Rd.I was warmly greeted and mentioned this was my first visit here. I gave my car info including the Michigan plates. I mentioned my unfortunate overcharge for my last oil change at Midas and told the gentleman behind the counter that my vehicle took the above standard oil; not the highest/ most expensive oil. He researched how much oil my car took and gave me an estimate of $50 for the oil change which includes a $10 discount. I’m coming back tomorrow for my wife’s standard oil change. WAY better than Midas!!! Thank you Monro!!!
The guys on Sprinkle were wonderful! I took my car in for just an oil change but on further inspection realized that my shocks were bad. They had everything done within a few short hours and I was on my way. Amazingly this was the day before the holiday and they were still able to get it all done! These guys should have July 4 off for all the things they do!!!!!! Thank you for all your help!
Cant just walk in and get your car worked on anymore. You have to make an appointment no matter what!! There were only two guys working there. And the manager was there, but the one guy doing all the guy said it was his day off. While I was there the guy working on my car answered all the phone calls, helped everyone that came in, helped all the guys that brought parts in from other stores while the other two sat on their butts and chatted. The manager did not even answer the phone while he was there. And neither did the other guy who was suppose to be working. They just sat there while the other guy did it all. The guy working on my car had to stop every time. So that made me have to wait longer. I have never been in there as long as I was today. And the new manager Mike was rude. That is just bad service.
I have had a couple services performed here and just had a new tire replaced a few weeks ago. I discovered a screw in said tire today and when I called to see if they had time to patch it, Larry told me maybe in a couple hours... and when I asked for a more definitive time I was told I dont exactly know maam, I keep taking work, so it would be whenever we have time. I understand you want to keep taking work and tire patches dont generate money, but I also have to work today and I dont know how to patch my own tire. I called Tuffy on westnedge and they were extremely nice and booked me an appointment right then. As a manager in customer service, I was extremely disappointed with Monro.
I called on a Tuesday and made an appointment for Friday. I explained to a man on the phone what I needed done, brakes, alignment, oil change, and there is a shaking at highway speeds that needed to be looked in to. When I arrived on Friday, the only note they had was the fact that I had an appointment. Not a big deal, I explained again what needed to be done, and the manager, Bill, told me he should have it done by the end of the day (6pm). I figured that would be plenty of time since I was dropping it off at noon, and went about my day.At 5:30pm, I had not heard from them and called. They told me a ball joint was bad and was likely the cause of the shaking on the highway. They gave me an estimate on the total of the job, I agreed, but then asked how much longer they would need my car. Bill told me they would need it for Saturday morning to finish. I figured if we kept the time under 24 hours, that should be fine.I hadnt heard from them by 2pm the next day and called. They explained that they ran into a problem with my wheel cylinder and things were taking longer than expected. They then told me the car should be done within the next two hours. At 4pm I hadnt heard them so I called again, and they said I can pick it up at 6pm.Not once was there an apology for this serious delay. When I got my car back at 6pm I asked if there was anything else I should be aware of, and he told me the stabilizer joint was lose, but nothing alarming. When I got back on the highway to head home, the car started shaking at 60mph, where initially the shake had started at 75mph and my alignment hadnt been fixed at all.The next day I call them and explain the still existing problem, and Bill, the manager, got an attitude with me and said, I told you theres a bad belt in the tire that was moved to the back! Even your husband said he knew about that. We cant get the alignment right with the tire in that condition. You need to let me know when you want to get the tires done because I have to special order them.Well, he seemed so certain that I thought I may had been mistaken, so I call my boyfriend that was with me when I picked up the car and double checked. He assured me that the conversation never happened. None the less, I took my car to Discount Tire to check the tires since mine are under warranty before I called Monro back. After my tire inspection I was told there was some uneven wear from a problem with the cars alignment, but no belt problems. So I called Monro back, and Matt answered. I told Matt how I was rather upset that I just handed them over $1000, the work that was promised to me was not done, and Bill had gotten an attitude with me about a conversation that never happened. Matt was nice, but never apologized, said Bill had gotten me confused with another customer, and made another apointment to look at my car again. When I brought my car back in, I told Bill Im pretty sure the alignment could be a good reason theres still shaking, and he told me thats not possible. After my inspection was done he told me my tow is out of alignment and thats what he explained to me before, (no he didnt), and then said theres nothing we can do about it. He said if we replace the tires, the shaking will go away, but I would have to keep up with rotations due to the tow. When I got into my car, my alignment was different! I thought it was strange because Bill swore they did an alignment at my last appointment, but now instead of pulling to the right, it pulls to the left. The shaking has subsided, and I do believe the rest of the shaking may be because of my tires, only because Discount Tire said I need new tires, but mine arent horrible.I can overlook the exceedingly long time spent with my car, the return trip, and the confusion, but I cant overlook the attitude, lack of apologies for any of it, or the attitude attached to the interactions from Bill, the manager. To finish the work on my car, I will go to a different shop.
Ive been taking my cars here for 15 years. Mike is always fair and up front about the repair and the price. I recently sent my daughter here because I did not want her to be taken advantage of considering the issue she was having and her lack of knowledge about it. Mike took care of her like he does all of his customers and he didnt even know she was the daughter of a loyal 15 year customer. He treats everyone like family.
2ND EDIT 6/25/19 After calling the corporate office I am being refunded the amount I had to pay an outside shop for my repairs. Its unfortunate I had to call the corporate office to get what I deserved. Larry the manager is terrible with customer service. He even was rolling his eyes and complaining about a customer he was speaking to on the phone while I was at the counter waiting. I will never take my car to this shop again!! But the corporate office did do what was right.EDITED ON 6/23/19NEW INFORMATION..My car stalled a few weeks ago after starting. It only happened once. No engine light was on. I happened again about a week later. Still no engine light. Then about 5 days ago it happened again, but 4 times in a row. I took my car to a competitors auto repair shop. I was told I needed THE SAME 2 SELONIODS Monor replaced 3 months ago!! Cost me $300 more dollars. I went to Monro with their parts and I was told. Pretty much too bad. I wont get a refund on my parts or anything. I called the corporate office and am waiting to hear what they are going to do to make this better. The other shop told me my parts from Monro were defective. Im not asking for a full refund. Just what I paid for their defective parts!!! Stay tuned to know what happens. I am happy to remove this 1 star review if Im given the proper refund I deserve!!!I waited a few weeks before writing this review. I dont like to write bad reviews but I feel I was left with no other choice. About 2 months ago my engine light came on. I took my car to monroe around March 11 2019. I was my 1st time there. I was told I needed over $550 of work. 2 solenoids, engine flush(engine flush was done on my vechile about 2 months prior at another shop) I didnt think I needed another flush but I did it anyway trusting the workers. Less than 24 hours later the light came back on. I called monroe and was told to bring it back theyd take care of me. I went and was told I had to bring it back when the mechanic who worked on my car was there. Due to my work schedule I came back a few days later. The mechanic told me Larry should have told me it might come back on because there might be a different problem. The mechanic looked at my car that day and said he cleaned something that had to do with air intake/outtake. Less than 24 hours again my engine light came on. I went back a few days later. The mechanic did not have time to look at my vechile that day. I found that out after I left it with them the entire day!!! I was told to come back in 2 days (friday) at 8am and the mechanic would come in early to help me. I got them around 8:15am and was told that mechanic doesnt come in until 9am. At 9:15am the mechanic comes in and tells me hes sorry he forgot I was coming. He looked at my car and said a hose was kinked and if the light comes back on we would have to order a new hose. Less than 12 hours later light came back on. So I decided to get a 2nd opinion. I went to a different shop. They did a diagnosis on my car and found out I had a cracked manifold, and something was STILL wrong with my air intake/outtake stuff. $1,500 later.. issue solved.. no more engine light. I feel like monroe was just guessing what was wrong with my car and I spent money for stuff I didnt need. I will NEVER take ANYTHING to monroe ever again!!! DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. THE MECHANICS DONT KNOW MUCH BEYOND BASIC REPAIRS IN MY OPINION!!!
If zero stars were available, thats the rating I would give.Bill is a crass, rude and incompetent manager. He cursed at myself and my spouse after we complained about the work done on one of our vehicles.I will not go into detail as I am currently working with the district manager and the corporate office to resolve my issues. It is my opinion that this particular location needs a new manager and retrained staff. They all lack common decency that is expected in the customer service industry.I will be working with a different location to resolve my issues and hope the manager there will deal with me in a kinder and more respectful manner.
I wouldnt have gave them even one star, but I had to in order to post. THE WORST service I ever experienced. They never fixed the problem, but charged us to guess what it could be. They never re-aligned my car afterwards and wanted to charge me to look at it and fix their mistake. Do not go there.
I was recently thrilled with my experience at Monro on Sprinkle Road. I had some issues on some things that were never really resolved at other shops. The new management at Monro seemed to know how to step in and give me quick answers. I called but didnt need an appointment, much to my surprise. Things are humming along and Ill be back to deal with Larry and his crew.
Was in Kalamazoo for the first time and we got a huge bolt stuck in our tire while driving to our hotel. We happened to drive past Monroe on Sprinkle Road. Bill Brown (manager) went out of his way to help us and even though he was busy with other customers (Friday late afternoon) he got us fixed up and back on the road to enjoy our trip!!
Great Customer Service from Brandon he was very helpful with anything i needed to know and Got me right in and out for a much needed oil change which was a suprise cause im often having to wait hours if not days to get one from alot of different auto shops i definitely recommend
PROBLEMS ALL ROUND car might come out running but if you work there good luck feeding your family when you get a half pay Check three times in a row. (only worked there a month and a half so it was every check I GOT) didnt say anything I figured no mistake they knew what they were doing and they have a big history of this and last month just made deal in SUPREME COURT FOR 25 MILLION for unpaid wages, overtime and abused employees.(HOW DO I RATE ZERO STARS???)
They put a new thermostat in on 3-9-2019 but did NOT put antifreeze back in and now I have no heat yet again I am not happy because of the employees at MONROE my car is cold and they will be getting a phone call and they will be seeing me in person. Thank God for the warranty

2022-02-09I was visiting from Idaho and had a shimmy in my car. I went in and said I needed an alignment. After inspecting the car, Andrew told me my alignment was fine. All I needed was to have one tire balanced. I was very impressed with their honesty as well as competence. He had no expectation of repeat business (since I was going back home) it wouldve been easy for him to charge me for the alignment I expected. Definitely recommend this mechanic.

2022-05-02Rated 5 stars ,dropped to one. Needed an alignment and got sold lower ball joints and a fuel line. So I got it done. After that car couldnt get fuel pressure. It took over a week to get the issue resolved. When it was finally resolved I asked to speak to the district manager and he argued with me and called me a lier when i told him the car ran fine before they worked on it and said he should of just let me break down on the side of the road up north somewhere. He stated I should of been responsible for the cost of everything to fix it. He was mad at me and corporate that he had to eat the cost. Total garbage service.

2022-07-12I needed new brake pads, but when I came in for my appt they said I also needed rotors. I was not going to be able to afford it, but Todd and Drake at the Sprinkle Rd location in Kalamazoo worked some things out and were able to save me money!! I will be forever grateful and a forever customer! Thanks again.

2022-04-08532 dollars to replace only the front pads and rotors on a ranger. Wouldve been 460 without replacing the bearings. Most expensive brake job ever... Only authorized due to needing the car back asap. Oh and they lost my keys. Never going back.

2022-03-02Ohmigosh, these folks are AMAZING! I don’t know when I’ve had better customer service. They went out of their way to help me after a tire blowout, and had me back on the road two days earlier and for less money than we originally thought. I will never need to go anywhere else!

2021-12-31Never felt so ripped off in my life. I went to this location desperate to fix my car, but I guess I never should have let them know that, because they completely took advantage of me. Because I needed my car working quickly and my car suddenly didnt feel safe to drive due to an important part of it not working at its best, I just took it in to the closest auto repair place and didnt think too hard about it. They charged me an absolutely insane amount to improve my cars problem by maybe 5-10%. I shouldve argued with them about it but I just drove off because I was just so tired and frustrated with it, not to mention they took roughly 250% longer than they said they would. I recommend everyone that can avoid going here to do so.

2021-12-31They do a fantastic job and do way more than just tires, shocks and mufflers. They just ordered a blower motor on my heater for me y Mercedes 350R and replaced it in less than an hour. These guys are knowledgeable and honest mechanics. Thank God for a business that puts the customers first.

2022-01-29They will rip you off. And break your sensors on your tire and not fix it, but try to charge you 145 to fix their actions. They over charge for tires quote one and hit you with another. Be Aware Of Them. My opinion

2021-11-17Took my car in for new 02 sensors and to have the power steering fixed. I told them point-blank that the pump was bad and needed to be replaced. They called me 2 days later and told me it wasnt the pump, it was the rack. It was leaking all over the place. Ok. Fine. So they replaced it. Took them nearly 2 weeks. Its not my daily so no big deal. They call me and I come to pick it up and pay the $1730 bill for it. $1300 or so was for the new rack.Well I get in the car and didnt even get out of the parking lot before I realized that IT WASNT fixed. The pump was still doing exactly what it had done before. Who test drove it? Did they not notice that the vehicle that was being worked on for bad power steering STILL had a power steering issue? Why didnt they call me to inform me? Instead they tried to pass it off as done.I complained to them and told them it needed a new pump, which, after I insisted, they installed for free as long as I paid for the part, which of course they had an outrageous markup for. They also insisted the idler tensioner pulley was bad and that it needed to be replaced. Took them another day and cost me another $570. The total for the Genuine Mercedes Benz power steering pump and tensioner pulley were about $300 total so they still charged me double the cost of the parts.Their service is good, and they are always friendly, but I question the professionalism of their mechanics, who failed to notice that the very loud and hard steering wasnt fixed on their test drive after they installed the expensive rack.I have been a customer there for several years now and have had more than a few vehicles worked on by them but after this my confidence in them has been shaken. I feel completely shafted for the work they did. I also asked to see the old rack and they never showed it to me.I have complained in the past to them as well. They did an oil change on my brand new white Silverado LTZ and they didnt even wipe off the truck when they were done. There was oil and handprints ALL OVER THE HOOD.I will give them one more chance. They are very friendly and do have good customer service, but if that isnt coupled with decent, efficient, professional mechanics and service techs, then there is no point. I would rather be treated brashly and have exceptional word done then be treated nicely and have shoddy work.

2021-08-27We had a breakdown on the Highway and ended up in their parking lot on a Sunday. We left the car and the keys and called them Monday morning. They were able to work us into their schedule and fix our car right away. We asked them to do a couple other things for us and they could do one of the requests. The other request they could not do because it included an aftermarket part that we had already purchased. Overall their service was great!
