We wanted to go to dinner and I decided to go here well Ill have to say the staff is so amazing best place that we have been to our waitress we had was one of the best waitress we have had in a long time The food here is absolutely amazing. We had 6 people with us and we all had something different definitely would recommend this place we definitely will be going again soon
Went for lunch, don’t remember the waitress’ name but she was a heavy set girl with dark hair and very loud. She was very rude and was impatient and rushing us when we were ordering. I always make a point of saying thank you when they bring something to the table, not once did she respond back to the 4 or 5 times I said thank you to her. Then when she brought our food before the appetizer, I couldn’t even get her attention the dozens of times she walked past our table because she wouldn’t look my way. Finally when she brought the bill over, I mentioned the missed appetizer and she said; “that one was on me”.
Went there in December, oredered stuffed cabbage. They were bad, old, the taste was horrible, the cabbage looked like they been sitting there for weeks. I got my money back, ok. Last weekend we went there for breakfast. Orange juice was bad, ordered Pepsi instead. And received Cherry Coke. We won‘t go there anymore. The kitchen staff needs to take more care in throwing old food away!
Great food! Great daily specials! VERY Clean and plenty of elbow room. Great place to try if you havent been here before. They even have a nice, newer bar area that is separate from the dining room area. Check it out!Update: Just went back to have the Polish Plate...you need to get this! It was so great! The food here is TOP notch. One of Monroes best places to visit for great food at a reasonable price. Service has always been great. AND this place is always very, very clean.Keep it up, Monroe Grill!
Delicious place to get some nice breakfast. Never have had bad service here, or bad food. Pricing is excellent and this is one of the best places to eat in Monroe.
Was on Walleye fishing trip when we found this place. Food was excellent and service impeccable. A cool place to lay back to eat and drink.
Its a nice clean restaurant, the waitress was nice and on top of everything for us. The heat could of been turned up a little more on this cold day but i would return. The pizza was good its just like a home made one but just a little better. I would of gave 5 stars but i had a fly that wouldnt leave me alone.
We Love their French Toast; its amazing! They cook up amazing sausage links-- just like my Grandmother used to. The portion sizes are big, and the coffee is Great! We found a new favorite nice place to eat!
It looks very nice inside. Their menu is huge which is not always a good thing when it comes to quality. The service was great, super friendly. I had the turkey dinner and my husband had the stuffed cabbage. Mine was decent, my husband didnt like the stuffed cabbage. The macaroni and cheese we had was ok but a little watered down. There is nothing that is really bringing me back to this place.
Food was great overall. Toast could of used more butter. Didnt see the waitress much, twice I think.

Pretty good place. Good variety and moderately priced. Good portions and friendly staff. Frequently have to ask for refills on my pop. Seems the wait staff doesnt come and check if you need anything often enough.Have had a couple of my takeout orders incomplete as well and have had to explain to the waitress on the phone what a loose burger is and still got my order wrong its on the Menu.The food tastes good though. They now serve Alcohol. It doesnt compare as a coney island compared to Lafayette, American, National, and Leos in my opinion or even Bennys locally. On a side note, no one wants green peppers in their loose burgers. No Coney Islands serve them that way, I have been to tons of coneys and have never got them that way. Just at Monroe Grill.I know they close at 8 pm. I called my pickup in at 725 pm. They call me at 740 pm asking where Im at because they close soon. I told them I was on my way and be there within 10 minutes. I got there to pick up my food and I mentioned to cashier that I know what time you close and there was plenty of time so dont call and see how much longer Im going to be. She said well I always do that when its getting close to quitting time. I do not take it as a kind gesture. I took it as hurry up so we can get out of here.You are no longer allowed to vape in the restaurant at all or even at the bar counter like in past and you are not even allowed to vape in their bar next door!

Went in for lunch, then went to pay and thats when the trouble began. It took over THIRTY MINUTES for them to try and take payment, all the while having swiped or inserted my card more than 15 times (so Im sure my meal is charged 15 times, but I wont know until after midnight tonight once their offline charges all process). In addition, the owner came out to try and resolve the system issues, calls their tech guy who wanted to try a credit card number over the phone. So, the owner, instead of using a business credit card or company card, insists to their IT person on the phone that he has a credit card right here to try, and proceeds to use my credit card number to try over the phone. Im sorry, but waiting 30 minutes to pay for $24 worth of food for two? At that point so much of my time has been wasted, my card has been swiped so many times, and then used as the guinea pig (test subject) for over the phone, my food should have been free. I should have been told not to worry about it at the 15-minute mark. But nope, tomorrow I get to pull up my statement and see how many times Ive actually been charged for my now almost 2-hour lunch that made me late for my return to work. Not happy
Stopped here while traveling, the fried perch was good and I would come back again.

Pretty standard, no-fuss place with an expansive menu (though each item on the menu is generally simple enough). The entree portions were gigantic, youre definitely not going to go hungry. Its a safe, easy option.

I’m leaving this one star review due to the fact that they impose a 3% charge to use ANY CARD PAYMENT. This is not disclosed until payment receipt is given. In a time where countless stores and organizations are asking to use card when possible due to a national coin and change shortage, I find it a little ridiculous to make the consumer pay the credit card fee!When the business was asked they said “IT’S THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY’S FAULT” when in fact it the THE BUSINESSES CHOICE to charge that fee to their customers!!There are numerous other small business and restaurants that choose to NOT charge this fee!
Fish dinner was ok on fish Friday. The fish was bland and definitely frozen not fresh
Actually good food for a diner. One of the better around in Monroe, and a really good kielbasa. Theyre Polish breakfasts ( skillet, crepe, etc) are all really well done and they cook the onion well
Food was great. I got the steak and eggs, and the steak was cooked just right. My wife got the strawberry pancakes and she said they were amazing. Waitresses were nice and attentive.

I am new to the area and have drove by Monroe Grill a few times and kept saying I would like to order from there. Today was the day...and so glad I did! We ordered the stuff cabbage and fish and chips. The food was delicious!!!!! Everything was so good and fresh. Staff was so nice and polite. THEY ARE MY NEW FAVORITE!!!!

First off the food portions to price is a bit ridiculous and it is definitely a place for elderly people only!! The food was bad according to my 7 year old and the waitress kept swearing and we had two little kids with us it was just unacceptable behavior!! We are not happy and we will not be back!! If I could put zero stars I would!!

This place was recommended to me by family who said the food was awesome when they went 2 weeks ago.....needless to say, I was disgusted with what happened yesterday morning.1 star only because the waitress was overwhelmed in the section she was in and the number of table that had 4 or more patrons. Had the waitress not been doing her job correctly, this would be a 0 star review. There were 5 of us in our party and we were seated and had waters within 20 minutes of walking in the door. Maybe 5 minutes later our orders were taken by the waitress who also was bussing and cleaning her own tables as well as making all the drinks, including the alcoholic drinks because there was no bartender. Our food arrived 1 hour after ordering and this is where our experience went straight into the garbage! Medium steak was cooked bone dry throughout but the outside looked as if it was boiled in water due to the filmy substance on the steak. Over medium eggs under cooked to the point the whites were running all over the plate into the other food. Steak omelet ordered without onions due to an allergy was packed full of onions and the hash browns were burnt on one side and damn near raw on the other side. Eggs benedict with a hollandaise sauce that was lumpy and broken which means it was either a prepackaged sauce or it broke while making it. The only things that were given to us right were our drinks. When I went to cash out, I asked to speak to the manager and I was told The manager is too busy to speak with you at this time!I am sure some will think I am being overly critical and you can think that. But when you order simple food with simple instructions, like omitting something because of a food allergy, youd think they would at least get that detail correct!Wont ever step foot in this establishment again!

I went there with my so for a nice ribeye steak. It was delicious. Got a salad and baked potato even some yummy rice pudding. I ordered some fried calamari, it was done perfectly. Service was very good. Handicap friendly, and plenty of free parking.

Just stopped in for a beer with an old friend. Had a decent selection to choose from. Ambiance reminded me of an old diner. Didnt have anything to eat but food looked like diner food, nothing special. Very kid friendly. My friend had his family with him and they seem to enjoy their meal.
Dissatisfied with our first order from this place. Two dinners with box mashed potatoes, package gravy, bland, pre-frozen vegetables and alternatively over-seasoned or under-seasoned entrees for $70. My boyfriend called it hospital food. I dont think well give it another try anytime soon.
First time eating out since Michigan re-opening. Great menu, clean, super nice waitresses. Ended up walking out before even ordering though. We were sat, only ones in the restaurant, then 2 guys came in without masks and sat down. Nobody corrected them or enforced the mask order. I get that we take our masks off to eat, but this is where i planned on putting food in my mouth and I’d rather it be Covid-safe.

Very large selection of good foods on their menu. The proportions and quality of food were also great for us today. I had a very basic cheeseburger which was well-cooked and tasteful. They are especially known for their rice pudding as a dessert here.

Great food excellent menu variety. Usually get their gyros, wraps, or last time had the Polish platter and it was delightful. Each meal usually comes with a soup, salad and a rice pudding but the portions are so generous dessert is often an afterthought.Always friendly and prompt service, good care for their carry-out customers, packaging is durable and keeps the food fresh. Never have to worry about things breaking open or food being cold.Dining in has always been great even with our family with 5 kids the service is fantastic

Nice atmosphere. Have eaten here often. Food is good , little pricey however, portions are decent. Servers are hit and miss. Sometimes great Service other times very poor.. seems to be all or nothing. We stopped for coffee and dessert Tonite. Specifically ordered fresh coffee please. Coffee was very old first and second. We asked for fresh pot. Coffee was worse with the new pot. We are now searching for stomach medication to ease the symptoms of stomach pain. We are disappointed ☹️. It is not like this every visit

This was the first time for my wife and I to stop here. Breakfast served anytime, so thats what we had. The food arrived quickly, the portions were plentiful, it tasted great, was priced reasonably, and our server, Rachel, was friendly and attentive. Their menu is quite extensive. So much from which to choose! Well be back!
I ordered fried chicken, green beans and mash potatoes and chicken gravy. Guys the food was great but the potatoes and gravy were amazing! Also, please order the chicken lemon rice soup, for an extra zing add a side of lemon, hummy!!!

Order to go sat. May 16 8:30 am arrive take 15-20 mins. at 9am was asked for name was told it would a 20 mins. They haven’t even put the order in yet reason being really busy well busy is when all the tables are taken that’s not the case phone is right next to register to put order in they wrote it down and forgot it . SIMPLE SOLUTION IS TO FINISH SIMPLE TASK THEN ON TO NEXT TASK

This place is just starting and they were doing what I call a soft serve. Great place to hang out. The staff was great. I was drinking margaritas and they were really tasty. We had appetizers that were really good. So be sure to try it. Both my husband and I will be going back.
Bought the bbq rib dinner for my son, he was appalled. Mostly bone and the little amount of meat on it was too hard to get off the bone very tough to chew. He threw it out because it was awful with an ounce of hard meat.He said never again. Pretty costly bones. Have eaten here dozens of times. This is only for rib dinner. Otherwise most stuff if really good.
Crepes were burned and undercooked at the same time. The marinara sauce was disgusting. Im just unimpressed with this place

1.) Food is cafeteria grade (easy to spot this place relies of on frozen/ canned food) which is surprising for the price2.) Service was terrible. Host took our drink order than forgot. Waitress forgot/ messed up 50% of our families order (mind you, we were literally the only table in the restaurant). They messed up my pasta dish (wrong sauce) and brought my food out within minutes back on the same plate! Do I even want to know how my sauce magically became meat sauce that fast?3.) Place might walk and talk like a bar, but it’s a polished up diner with an identity crisis. Calling it “Bar and grille” might allow this place to charge a premium on GFS food (like $6.75 for a kids meal) but anyone who tries it once won’t be fooled again.

Nice place. Really broad menu. Everything we had was good. First time I ever tried dill pickle soup. It was quite good. I had stir fry. The sauce was teryiyaki and a little sweet for me, but good none the less. Wifes Super Nachos were great. Will return.
Wife had the steak stir fry dinner,I had the ribeye steak dinner. OMG!!! My wife Lorie said her dinner was fantastic and my steak dinner was also fantastic!!! My hat goes off to the chef and the staff was great too. Highly recommend Monroe Grill &Bar!

I ordered a salad it didnt have much of anything to it but two cucumbers lettuce and a little bit of meat. My girlfriends chicken salad was the same but had super dry chicken. We spoke to the owner and he did not act in a professional way he made a scene and told us to just get out. Very unprofessional. I do not recommend coming here especially with someone owning a business acting in that matter to their customers.
Enjoyed our meals. Everyone was really friendly and the restaurantwas very clean. I felt the chili on my loose burger was outstanding and their rice pudding is the best. This was our second trip to the Monroe Grill... I am sure we will return.
I brought my elderly parents in the other day and they loved the food and waitresses treated them very good and that is. not easy

Comfortable atmosphere and charming staff. Food is always on point for a family restaurant. Has a diverse menu and the floor is spacious. Have never had a bad experience here, and for the locale of Monroe, that is a tall order. Wonderful experience.
Excellent steak and cheese omelet. Made with chunks of steak. Very good swiss cheese. Great overall flavor. My mouth is watering just writing about it. Good pancakes with whipped butter. Rye toast was super soft and well buttered. Server was great too. Cant wait to go back.....

The food here is amazingly good. The waitress was nice and greeted us quickly. We were immediately given our drinks and the food came fast. it didnt matter that we were finished eating there and were just yalking for a while afterwards either. They were awesome. There are booths and a bar( to eat at) here. There is also a kereoke bar connected to it inside, We were invited to go sing kereoke if we wanted to also. It was friendly, cozy and we had good food here
I work next door so I decided to get breakfast here. This place is way too expensive, my buddy and I both got the western omelette and a pop, they were $18 each! That’s a ridiculous price for a Coney Island type restaurant in Monroe. No receipt so who knows if I was overcharged on purpose.

Im not impressed by this place at all. I am currently writing this while at my table in the restaurant. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap thinking how can that be bad at all. Boy was I wrong. The wrap came with vegetable soup which still had a bay leaf in it (not really supposed to eat these) and it tasted bland and had a gritty texture. The wrap itself was also not really all that good. First it took a long time to get to the table, their reasoning was they burnt the tortilla, who burns a tortilla! The taste was also not there when it did arrive, it was 7 dollars and tasted like I could make the same thing at home for like 2 bucks. The lettuce was soggy the breading on the chicken was not crispy but soggy as well and the chicken was cold. All in all I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
Food was great value for money , very tasty , waitresses were very polite and attentive even when my order was wrong straight away it was dealt with . Also I would of have given an extra star just for the rice pudding I could of eaten buckets of it , definitely be coming back again soon to try more of the food they have to offer .

Enjoying dinner at the Monroe Grill. We absolutely love the Prime Rib dinner. Staff is prompt and friendly, and service time is good. So far everything has been delicious though the house salad could use a bit of work. Looking forward to our next meal here.

This is my Sisters and my to go place. Ordered the western omelette. The waitress brought me a Southern omelette. I never order anything with gravy. She mad an angry face and walked away with it. Not even an Im sorry I will get that for you. Was embarrassed. Felt to me she thought I made the error. When got my order was delicious. I think our next Sister event might b some new Monroe experience.
Food is good but service is terrible. We have been there several times and when we managed to get food it was good. On two of our attempts to eat there we were seated but a server never came to take our order so we left.

Worse service ever. Waited 1/2 for our food & never received it. As my husband & I were walking out, he heard our waitress telling the manager on duty that weve been waiting a long time for their food & now theyre leaving. Manager never asked us what was wrong or said anything! The waitress apologized but the manager kept quiet. I didnt enjoy watching customers ordering their food after us & getting their meal while we were still waiting! Very disheartening. Will NEVER go back again. Managers need to be trained in customer service!!!

My wife and I were skeptical when they first opened but the clean, modern dining room, friendly prompt service, and great menu with a bodacious selection of diner food has us eating here on the reg my dudes! Take a number across the street at the Secretary of State and wait your time out here with a greek skillet or philly steak sub!
Its just a fancy name for a koney island with alcohol drinks available. Went here when they had the 1/2off entire menu special, wasnt happy with the order or overall experience. Would never come back and pay full price

My experience today at Monroe Grill would have rated a 5 if the waitress Carly we had was the slightest bit interested in doing her job...she served our food with no silverware on the table and just walked away...we sit there for about 5 mins until we got the attention of the bus boy...he was kind enough to get us some...she never came by to ask how our food was or to see if we wanted more coffee...once again...we got the attention of the bus boy...he was very kind and helped us right away...our waitress was more interested in paying attention to the guys at the bar ...they didnt have to wait at all.. we sat in the bar area, in a booth which was not busy at all. .besides us...there was one other table of people whom she ignored also. After...we spoke to the owner and told him that we wanted to give the bus boy a tip...he kept making excuses for Carly instead if saying he was sorry...it was one excuse after another...he did not want us to give the tip to the bus boy who was actually taking care of us..food was great...really enjoyed it.
Our first time going there - and the food was great! The service was wonderful! And the prices arent terrible. Ill definitely be going back.
Weve eaten here a dozen times in the last few years. The quality and variety of their menu is above your average restaurant and bar. Prices are good.
Great service that our food was a little salty. Could be because were used to a salt free diet.
New menu. Overpriced. Payed $8 for a crepe. Asked for extra meet. Was charged $5 extra and hardly any meet in it. When I brought it to waitress attention she shrugged her shoulders at me. Rude rude rude. Wont recommend this place anymore.

Would give no stars if possible. Photo of mac and cheese looked delicious and homemade. Had it delivers to reab hospital, I have 2 broken legs. Ordercame it was cold box mac and cheese for$9 bucks! I called to complain Credit in store 9 bucks went to use credit next day, you must pick it up. Explained my injury , sorry must pick up. I then asked for them to credit account the refuse. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOOD SUCKS GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! OWNER IS RUDE AS WELL

The food and service here exceed the paltry 5 stars I am able to give. A restaurant of this caliber deserves a much higher rating. Well-deserved praise will have to suffice.

Wish there was a minus on the star option. Ordered the French toast with the blueberry topping. Specifically asked that the topping to be warm before putting on the toast. French toast came to the table cold with cold topping. Told waitress and she stated that she had told them to warm up the topping. She took it back and told me that they were doing a fresh order. Many minutes later, she brought back the food, which turned out to be the same order, only with a little more luke warm water filled blueberry mix dumped on it. The French toast was still cold. By this time, the side of bacon had turned to congealed grease. The manager told me that I shouldnt worry about it because they had taken my meal off the bill. Very generous seeing as I didnt get anything to eat. I was not even asked if there was anything else that they could get me. Just a half hearted sorry. Help and cooks are beyond terrible and management is non existent. Run, run, run.
The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The deep fried Ribs are AWESOME.
Baked chicken was great, fell off the bones and savory flavor. Our service is always excellent and the beer is really cold! You get rice pudding with most meals too.
Staff was polite and respectful. Patient when deciding what to order. Waitress was still gorgeous and it was closing time. Great desserts. A must go to when in Monroe!!

2021-10-13Cannot recommend this place enough. Probably the best bang for your buck around. We have been in Monroe working and discovered this place when another fell through, and went back the 3 remaining days of the week. Promptly opens at 11 (when we take lunch) and our food is out within 10 minutes. We’ll continue to visit for lunch. $9 gets you more than enough food. Thoroughly impressed!

2022-04-19Very pleased with Monroe Grill and its staff for making our monthly visit an enjoyable one.Our party of 11 was well takin care of by our Server, Alyssa. She was exceptionally pleasant and very attentive to our needs.Everyone ordered from the breakfast items with no complaints from the group.Again, thanks to the kitchen and our server for another enjoyable outing.Only one issue to bring up. I think $3 for a cup of coffee is way too much. I would like to see that price reduced in the future.

2022-05-01I had not been here since before the pandemic. I always liked it, however, recently I visited and the food was not as good as it once was. Worse than that, wait staff or kitchen staff went into the restroom and smoked a cigarette. We had to leave because the smoke was so bad. Do they not realize that it is illegal to smoke in public places in Michigan? Besides that it was a beautiful evening and they could have stepped outside at least. We said something to our waitress and she laughed out off and asked if it was a vape. Um, I know the difference. Will never visit again.

2022-02-27So far so good on the 1st trip. French fries are awesome.....cheddar jalapeño poppers are hard to find in restaurants most are cream cheese.... steak and cheese is on chabata bread.... chicken tenders were good but skinny. Great tasting high quality food here. Ill be back for breakfast.
