The owner and technicians are always very skilled, friendly, running a honest faith-based business.Once you’ve had your car in their shop a few times and allowing them to be familiar with your vehicle, they can help you with good advice and service on how to get the most mileage and length on the road. I scheduled an appointment a week prior, I came in and talked to the guy at the front desk and said I have an appointment today at 2 and he asked if it was a drop off I told him no I had an appointment to get it done today. He told me Ill have it done for you in 20 minutes, so I decided to get a bit to eat next door at the coney. I come back 45 minutes later thinking my vehicle will be done right, I get there and he tells me that it hasnt been worked on yet and said give me 5 minutes and Ill have it done for you. Let me tell you after all the years Ive owned a vehicle this is probably the worst job Ive ever seen in my life. Ill be posting pictures for anyone to see them. The muffler was sideways the clamps were still on holes in the weld and it was a very unprofessional job. I took it a step further cause I was upset about the job that I paid money for and called up there to speak to a manager, well it turns out the guy at the desk who welded my exhaust was the manager and he was so disrespectful to me and I didnt appreciate it at all, he wouldnt let me talk and after a few minutes he hung up on me. Told me he has been welding for 30 years and telling me Im all wrong. So with further ado I will be posting pictures and giving them a bad review!
My husband recently left a review, our car was a bit of a poor choice to buy and they explained everything well and efficiently. The owner and mechanics did go out of their way to try and repair the vehicle after it began having trouble again, I appreciate their patience and personally think our car just was not taken care of well by the previous owners kids who drove it. Thank you for trying to fix what they drove into the ground haha.

The owner and mechanics are all very very friendly and fast, sadly we needed a new transmission and were told it would be a 2 year warranty but upon closer inspection after paid it was 1 year or 1,200 miles. once we got it home ( they did pay for a rental car and that was very nice) by the morning it was pouring fluid as the seals werent changed it seemed. we had it towed back and they covered that and fixed it within a day or two but we were left with no rental and I had to walk to work over 10 miles to work. none the less it was fixed and we were happy with how they treated us and still are. the day we picked it up it was grinding and progressively got worse until we finally were able to bring it in I was told by different people to bring it in different times or was told they were busy though we already paid for ours to be fixed once. ( I couldnt miss work and a rental wasnt likely to be provided ) it was fixed as the heat shield was loose from a messed up bolt or being warped it seems upon repair of the transmission. I wasnt upset as I know this can happen with transmission work and theyve been so kind. the day after we picked it up it was grinding again, so we brought it back in and it was tightened again and within 5 minutes was grinding badly again so i hope it really is the heat shield and isnt the transmission thats bad or something more serious but a very loud grinding coming from the front of the hood is scary seeing we have had it in so much and it cost us about 3,400-3,500 to be fixed and have babies we drive around in it. For friendliness and speed I would reccomend.
Chris was nice and professional. Him and the mechanics got me in immediately and replaced my exhaust within a few hours and oil change, when I couldnt even get other places to look at my truck until 3 days prior!! Couldnt have been taken care of better. Reasonably priced as well.
Had another great experience at muffler & go this week! My family and I have been coming to Chris for over 20 years, he and all employees bend over backwards for expedited attention. They’re always kind, fair, helpful, and timely. We’ve always gotten better service and prices here then any other service company in the area, and aren’t waiting long to be able to pick them up! The team here has consistently taken great care of my familys repair needs. I had a check engine light come on and they were fast to diagnose and uncovered faulty work done by another shop. Parts were warrantied and they took care of it. Didnt try to over sell me on things (older high mileage car), just did what was needed at a fair price. Id highly recommend for service.
First off, I would like to say that they were very kind, and professional when it came to the work being done on my truck. I had exhaust work done on my truck, and in person I had talked to someone about a specific flow master muffler being put on, and they said they would put the muffler on and do some other repairs I needed. I called back to see how everything was going 2 days later, and was reassured that a flow master was being put on the truck and all the other repairs were going as planned. Was very excited to hear my new exhaust, and they’ve done good work in the past for me. 2 days later they had the truck finished, but as I drove away from the lot I knew they didn’t put the specific muffler on that I had asked for and been reassured on TWICE. And after crawling underneath and looking at the muffler it was confirmed . I called back and mentioned I noticed that they didn’t put the correct muffler on. The front desk worker went into a spiel that their generic brand mufflers were the same thing as what I asked, and in fact what they put on was not similar to what I asked for . I didn’t put up much of a gripe as the work that they did was all fantastic, but they didn’t put the parts on that we had agreed upon, and in the instance of me knowing that they were installing something different then what I asked for, I wouldn’t have had the work done there. Overall I feel a little gypped in terms of what I expected and what I got.
Amazing and Honest! Muffler & Go saved us. We were traveling back home from Northern Michigan with at least 4 more hours to go when our brakes started to grind and smoke on the highway. We limped into Muffler & Go on a Friday @ 4:45 PM. Chris didn’t want us stranded overnight – they took our car straight into a repair bay! Within 45 minutes, they had us on our way. AND they did it all for no charge - FREE. Great business and people. I highly recommend Chris Burke, his team and Muffler & Go. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
I originally took my truck in for service on my cat converter. It was not corrected properly the first time and they worked the issue until resolved. They continued to work with me re an engine light issue that was centered around poor workmanship at a Holly shop for engine rebuilding that was bad. The owner worked with me several times to help correct someone elses mess that cost a LOT. Fingers crossed my issue has resolved thanks to the help of Chris and his team.
These guys are great! I always drop my cars off to them for minor to major repairs. Been going here a long time. I’ve had a transmission replaced, tune ups, custom exhaust and more. Every time the work is done to the highest quality and fair price. Can’t thank you enough!
Im a repeat customer....that fact alone says a lot. Muffler & Go offers quality repairs at a reasonable price. The 2 repairs Ive had them perform on my vehicle were done with short notice. They were able to complete the repairs in a reasonable timeframe. I like the fact they are capable of handling a wide range of repairs (they replaced all brake & fuel lines for one repair and replaced a leaking power steering line for the other repair). If I could find a fault with their service I would say it involves providing updates on repair status....but its a minor issue considering the big picture of why we go to auto repair shops.....to get quality repairs at a reasonable price. Overall Im a satisfied customer.
Took my car here to get some exhaust and suspension work done. There was some confusion with the work to be done and how long it took due to an employee getting COVID. Chris, the owner, made it right and took care of me. I came in with my F150, dumping gas. My gas range was decreasing 1 mile for every quarter mile. I panicked thinking my gas tank or hose was leaking. I drove straight to Muffler and Go in Fenton. The guys were very nice, the waiting room is extremely clean and nice! They checked my truck and test drove it to test the fuel consumption. Ended up being a false alarm. Best part - they did this out of the kindness of their heart. I’ll definitely make this my main automotive service shop in the future. Great people, happy I found an honest and friendly shop!
Five stars isn’t even enough to say how awesome this place is. I had my transmission rebuild here late January and Chris really worked with me on a price I could afford seeing as it is a costly repair. He walked me through everything he was doing and even sent me a personal video of a part direly needed replaced.I returned today to get my car checked out since there was a check engine light continuously coming up and taking it out to muffler and go they were able to find the problem and get me back on road. I highly recommend this shop because of their honesty and efficiency.
This is the second time we’ve used them for my Land Rover. They are more than fairly priced for imported cars and I feel don’t try to take advantage of you. Trust them. Don’t let the name fool you they do everything well
Heres whats interesting about this review. Its a hybrid of what Ive heard about Chris and Muffler and Go and what they didnt do.I went to Firestone and Tuffy. Both gave me estimates for COMPLETELY different things - all suspension related and all costly. My ma has used Muffler and Go for over 20 years on all her different cars both import and domestics. She recommended that I bring my car to Chris and muffler and go saying theyve been able to repair all her issues - engine, suspension, tires, electrical, etc. And so I drove an hour to have Muffler and Go look at it. The technicians found NOTHING wrong with my car. Chris and his team saved me 1K... yes a thousand dollars. This, to me, is just as important, if not even more so, than a repair. Its about finding a business that you can trust. A business that doesnt see a high repair/profit bill and a one time customer but instead sees you as a long term customer and wants to just do whats right.
We have been using muffler and go as our mechanic for the last 4 years or so. Chris is great to deal with. Very reasonable prices and quick service. Chris went above an beyond today for us after purchasing a used vehicle that had an issue. He not only fixed the problem, but made sure the issue wasn’t worse than just the repair needed to get it back on the road. Chris has always been very honest and I won’t take my vehicles anywhere else!

I never caught the names of the guys who helped me but I came in because someones tire blew in front of me and I couldnt avoid without going in the ditch so I took some damage to the engine splash shield/under cover for my car. They helped me that same day. Fixed it like brand new. They were super friendly and I will continue doing business with them.
I have been going to this place for years and have recommended it to a lot of potential customers. Never again will they get my business.Got a new muffler today talked to Dan yesterday about it and dropped my truck off before they opined. Talked to Dan at 10:30 and confirmed price and prosedger and gave the go ahead. I returned at 4:00 and then they pulled my truck in so I could wait 40 minutes while the job was done. Not a good way to do business in my eyes.
Ive taken both my cars to Muffler & Go multiple times. Ive always had a great experience each time Ive gone. Theyre honest about how busy they are at the time, and whether or not theyll be able to complete the job in a timely fashion. The people are friendly, they do good work, and have fair prices.
The management and staff are very professional.There was a discrepancy between my initial quote and what my bill actually came to. The employee I talked to over the phone was very empathetic and told me when the management team would be in. When I stopped by the shop to discuss the issue with management, they fixed the discrepancy without much hassle.- Honest workers- Good quality work- Quick service- Educated StaffAnd theyre right next to Uncle Rays to boot. You just cant beat that deal!
I have been going to Muffler & Go for the past few years. I refuse to go anywhere else!! These guys are AWESOME!! I drive for a living, so a good running vehicle is a must for me! No matter what I needed or how fast I needed it done, they have ALWAYS come through for me! They are very knowledgeable, polite, professional, and very reasonable in price. They just cant be beat! As a woman, I have always been skeptical of taking my vehicle in for repairs anywhere. I have even resorted to learning to fix some of my own things after being taken by other repair shops. I dont ever have to worry about the integrity or workmanship of any of the guys at Muffler & Go! The shop is clean, bathrooms are clean, and the service is excellent! You will not be sorry!!
Big fan of Muffler & Go. The wife and I have been getting our oil changes here for many years. I recommend making an appointment though, as theyre often very busy.The prices are fair, and the service is quick. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Trustworthy and speedy service! Was told i may need new calibers which run for about $120 a piece, they guys were able to save them and save me money! They fixed my A/C, rotors and brake pads all within 12 hours for under $500!
Terrible customer service. Specifically asked for a quote on only what was covered by my warranty. After a week, I was able to go pick it up. Total came to just under $300, when the warranty work deductible would have only been$100. Im not sure of the legality of doing work without consent from the owner of the vehicle, but even if legal, its certainly shady business practice. When I refused to pay until I talked to Chris about the extra work and charges, I spent 5 extra days calling and visiting the shop, every time Chris was supposedly not in that day, out of town, or out on a test drive depending on who I asked. Luckily Dan just let me write down my credit card # and said he wouldnt charge it until Chris talked to me about it and let me take my jeep. Chris was supposed to call me by the following Wednesday, and after never hearing from him, I began to call again to no avail. They ended up just charging the whole amount to the CC, and I was forced to pay.TL;DR: This shop has very sketchy business practice, they take forever to get what should be fairly basic work done, and their customer service is garbage, and basically nonexistent. If you still plan on doing business here, steer clear of Chris, hes a real shady guy.
Honest service with fair pricing. Muffler & Go is the only place I will take my truck for service because I have always been pleased with the quality of work and the more than reasonable pricing. I discovered them when I needed an exhaust manifold gasket replaced and their estimate (which they stood behind) was half to a third of the quotes from other shops. Now, I typically take the vehicle in for repair without asking for an upfront quote because I am confident the charges will be reasonable and fair. I wouldnt consider doing that anywhere else.Thank you, Chris.
Customer service is top notch! We had an issue with our vehicle registering there was a problem with the antilock brake sensor. After a few attempts at resolving the problem the real issue was finally determined and fixed. Chris and our mechanic took excellent care of us and our vehicle. We were grateful for getting our problem resolved finally and getting us back on the road. Here we are a month later and car is running great and no problems since Muffler and go repaired it. Just got back from Muffler & Go...Ive taken cars there for the past 18 years and always had a good experience. This time was no exception. Honest, objective information and a pleasant attitude every time! While waiting, I watched them interact with several other customers and they were professional and polite. Reasonable prices, too. I called first. They said the brake work would be done on Monday, so I had the truck towed the weekend before to their shop. I understand being busy in these times. I dont understand how it went from $500... done by Wednesday..I went to shop on Wednesday. The truck was in same spot as when I went on Monday. By Friday the cost to fix was $1,500. I had the truck towed back home.
My power steering pump siezed up and I had to have my Durango towed here. I live over an hour away so I wasnt happy taking my car to a place i was unfamiliar with. Originally Chris said he can only find an OEM pump which cost a ton to get from Dodge. But he spent an entire day trying to find a 3rd party pump and ended up finding one for 1/3 of the price. He also didnt charge me extra for it or the shipping. Basically paid wholesale price for it. They were professional on the phone and saved me alot of money in the long run. Doubt Ill ever go back since I dont live out there lol, but anyone in the Fenton area, dont hesitate

Very impressed with how professional this auto repair shop, right from the start I felt I had picked the right place to have my repairs done. There waiting room was very up to date, and had the cleanest office and waiting area I have ever seen. The staff was very helpful and they supplied me a rental at no charge and as I checked around for prices they were very reasonable. I needed a heavy repair and they not only did an outstanding job, but went the extra mile. After my repair I found out from friends and neighbors that they also go there and had the same great experience. They do everything there. I recommend this to everyone. Great job guys. I was having some issues with the front shocks on my car. The Muffler & Go employees took the time to show me the issue and fully explained the different options I could take to remedy the issue. I certainly felt like they were being very honest and upfront about everything with me. When they did work on my car everything was done on time and they communicated well with me to keep me in the loop when the car was fixed. I would certainly recommend them to anyone. Thank you!

I dont bring my vehicle here anymore for repairs. The last repair I had performed here took 3 times to get it right before I felt Satisfied.The first time I picked up the car the job was incomplete. It was clear to me later that day something was very off about my brakes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and drove it a few days. The trip meter didnt move more then 0.3 miles which barely enough to go from off a flat bed into the bay and out. They didnt test drive my car. My score at the time:10%The second time I picked up my car the job was incomplete. Score 12%. Claimed they bleed my brakes and it was air bubbles. I dropped the car off with a full tank. The Trip meter didnt move more than 0.3miles. Again they didnt test drive my vehicle and check for leaks at brake flares.Took it for a second opinion. 2nd,Wait you drove this over here... Where did you say you had the work done?Myself,Muffler and Go.2nd opinion,Your car shouldnt have left that property and returned to you the first time around. This is absolutely unacceptable. This could have caused an accident and possibly killed you. I cant work on it since its under warrenty and they need to make it right. This is unacceptable. Its leaking at this point in the Brake Flare route. The ABS Module.Took my car back to Muffler and Go. When I picked it up the 3rd time I dont think they test drove it then either. Score: Satisfaction for the age of the vehicle and better then before the Brakes went out. This is what I paid money for. Score:70% This is what I should have received the first time around considering its a 185k vehicle. In comparison I was judging 85-90% being my Grandpas 100k mile newer vehicle. Thats where my rating come from.I now cant even trust this place with a simple oil change in fear they will forget the $20 worth of oil.The Brake line Job above was the 3rd Straw and last to Losing my trust. They cut corners and Didnt test drive my vehicle twice if not 3 times on just my car alone. From this it was clear I was no longer their valued customer after about $7,000 out of my pocket over the years. Not a Penny more from me.
I have a Silverado Hybrid truck that had a power steering issue, the dealerships wanted big $ to even look at it and give a diagnosis, Gil had it for a couple hours, figured out and back to me the same day! I recommend Muffler and Go for your service work! They have great oil change specials also!
Took my 2000 Camry there on Saturday because I had an exhaust gas leak. They quickly identified the problem. Turns out it was my exhaust flex pipe. Took another hour to fix and I was there about 2 hours tops.The customer waiting area is really nice and bathroom was clean. Staff seem friendly. Itd be nice if they had a receptionist to handle calls and other customer issues up front.Overall a good shop and I would take my car there again.
I used to love this place. Very knowledgeable and fair. Always worked to do only whats necessary and affordable for your budget. Until last week. I sent my girlfriend in to have her exhaust checked due to noise. They gave her an estimate of over $1000.00 and said the manifolds need to be replaced. Nothing else. I told her no way and to get another estimate. The next shop said it just needed a new muffler. Put on lift, showed my girlfriend the whole in muffler and then showed her how quite the manifolds were. Not very happy and probably wont return here again
Chris (the owner) runs a stellar business in a great location. He and his team went way above and beyond to get an exhaust problem fixed on my Cadillac, and even hand delivered the car back to my business. These guys really know what theyre doing, I would trust them with anything to do with my car. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
Very nice guys, highly recommend them. Went to auto zone, was told I need a new alternator. Got a second opinion at muffler & go and was told nothing’s wrong. They even helped me reset my menu board so my battery light would go off, absolutely free of charge.
Took my car in for exhaust leak/sound. Quoted me $500 plus. Literally said..itll only take 40 minutes to rob you. He showed me the system pointed to multiple joints suggesting they were all leaking. I knew the resonator he wanted to replace was only about $75 because I bought one before. So, $400 for 40 minutes work is a bit steep. Explains the nice furniture and fish tank decor.I left. System had one break in it and was fixed with a $10 coupler. If you dont care about paying through the nose and getting lied to, I am sure the actual repairs are fine.
This place is phenomenal. The people are always working hard and fast. The man who works at the front desk is scrambling all the time to get things done. I will not go anywhere else to get my car fixed. 100% recommend.

He was the one who answered my phone call He was very verbal and put everything into an u understanding for me as a woman calling, when I asked when I could bring my car up to be looked at, He said and asked me my schedule, Hands down I will be a repeat customer!! They fixed my car the first time right told me what I could do now and what I could wait and do in the future there was No pressure!!
Never, again..Spent $400 on an exhaust repair, had a small leak a year later. Wasnt looking for warranty, just needed it looked at on a day off without having to leave it all day. A very abrupt rude not even possible answer. Seem to get a lot of good reviews from regular customers though.
These guys are top notch and really care about customer service. Ended up having to wait about an hour longer than I was told originally because they got backed up that day. Because of the wait, they gave me the oil change for free. Awesome customer service, very clean waiting area with coffee and magazines. Would recommend this place to anyone.
I have been twice for minor work. First to remove a heat shield that was rattling and they refused to take payment. Today I asked them to install a O2 sensor I supplied on my truck. Chris told me it only took a minute and again refused payment. I have been to many shops in the area and always thought I paid through the nose. Chris and his crew certainly gave me a positive experience not once but twice. He has my business from now on.

I’m never disappointed when bringing my CTS in for service. When I leave there I always feel like I got the best price and best TLC for my car. When bringing my car in for anything I feel like I’m taking it to a great neighbor and what a great feeling that is!
Been there 5 times for the same thing my transmission light keeps coming on been thru 2 transmission and a blower and it still comes on. The owner Chris is a joke Terrible service

I received a coupon in the mail for a discounted oil change from this business. I called on Friday and asked if I needed to make an appointment to get it changed on Saturday. They said to just bring it up. When I brought it up the next day, they said that they were closing at noon (I was there by 10:30) and couldnt get to me until Monday. I went elsewhere.This is why I tried to make an appointment! Also, dont send out coupons if you dont actually want more business.
I try to do as much of my own work as possible. When there is something I cant do, I take my Jeep to these guys. Today they removed a seized tie rod end link for me for FREE!!! I expected to leave it there, but they took care of me on the spot. Great job guys!

I and my family live full-time on the road. We pull a 36 travel trailer which is our only home. Im always leery of taking my Yukon XL into places for oil changes and repairs because so many places try to rip you off if you have out of state plates. I am so thankful for Chris and his crew. It was such a relief to have his shop recommended to us by the pastor of the church we were ministering at that week. We were having an exhaust leak problem that was going to be an expensive repair.Chris did everything he could to save us money, and I greatly appreciate his honesty, kindness, and professional knowledge that got our Yukon back on the road before we had to leave that weekend. I thank God for Christians in the professional work place that excel in their area of expertise and see it as their responsibility to use what God has blessed them with to be a blessing to those in Christian ministry. I cannot thank them enough for the blessing they were to our family.
Tried to bring my car in at opening to have them run a scan, since I had an indicator light that was flashing, warning me of a possible transmission issue, and wanted to see if scanning it would tell me what was wrong with it. Was interrupted part way through explaining my issue to the guy at the desk to be told that the guy would not look at it today at all, not even to scan it quickly right then. I wasnt looking for any extra work to be done, just looking for some information. Again, this was a couple minutes after they opened the shop. I took it over to Fenton Holly Transmission and Gear, and within 15 minutes, I had answers. The scan itself took 2 minutes, the rest of the time came from the guy deciding he wanted to drive the car to see if there was anything obviously wrong. They were very clearly swamped, and warned me that they were very busy, but they would still be able to run a scan to get me some answers. Just wanted a quick scan from Muffler & Go, and I understand they were busy, but the scan would not have taken long, and another shop that was already in full swing for the day (Transmission and Gear had already been open for more than an hour at this point) made time for me and got my problem solved. This place lost a customer.
After accident repairing tie rod I took my vehicle to get toe adjusted. Front wheel needs bearings replaced in front as well as back. Then body repair of minor damage would be next. Will work into my monthly budget.
Very reasonably prices.. They took the time to look over my car and figure out what was wrong. Would recommend to everyone if you are having car problems or need a oil change.

2022-03-20Highly recommend this shop. I took my SUV somewhere else to be looked at and was told I needed A LOT more repairs than what I actually needed. I called Muffler-n-Go and spoke with Keith was very honest with me as I explained what I had been told by the previous shop. He apologized for other business in his industry for lying/scamming and ensured I understood what was wrong with my SUV and why I didn’t need the additional repairs the other shop mentioned. Plus, the turnaround of my service was way above my expectations! This is definitely my go to shop for all car repairs now.

2022-01-09Really did a great job replacing the catalytic converter and muffler on my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. They also checked the rest of the vehicle at my request and offered to set up a payment plan and make the repairs in phases.High recommend Muffler and Go.

2022-01-24Called Friday to set up an appointment, was told to come in Monday morning and Id be on my way in a few hours. Show up right at 8am and was told I would need to drop the car off and would get to it when we get to it. How would I be able to accommodate this without prior warning? Not a way to treat a customer.
