Had a strange noise coming near the exhaust since a couple of days. Got the problem fixed within minutes for no charge. Very personable and honest. Will be returning for any future issue. Highly recommend.
No complaints at all. Called them and explained where my exhaust broke. They squeezed me in for a same day appointment even though they were already booked for the next couple of days. Repaired my pickup in 45 minutes. Never tried to sell me a new exhaust system or replace a bunch of exhaust pipe that was old but still worked. Extremely happy with the service and honest, cheap pricing. I would recommend this garage to anyone needing car repairs done.
Best mechanic Ive ever gone to. I live in Grand Rapids now and still drive down to Kalamazoo to get work done. They always make time for me in their schedule (even last minute, big repairs), and they always take a moment to actually show me whats wrong and what theyre repairing on the car. I wish I could give them 10 stars! The $25 oil change is pretty unbeatable, too.
If you are looking for incredible quality work, from some of the most honest, humble, intelligent and truly compassionate people out there, look no further than Muffler Man on West Main. Admittedly, my knowledge of auto mechanics is poor, a fact which many other auto shops may have tried to take advantage of, charging excess amounts for unnecessary repairs. Steve and Robin (and the rest of the team at Muffler Man) were beyond kind, welcoming and helpful in resolving my car troubles. Having recently moved to Kalamazoo from out of state, I called Muffler Man on a recommendation (a recommendation I am grateful for as well). Even though they were already booked a week out, they didnt want to turn me away without a reliable place to go, so they asked me to come in anyway. I arrived to a little shop in a less than glamorous part of time - but dont let the looks deceive you, this place is truly a gem! It was clear that the team was already overwhelmed with work, and as I later found out, one of their mechanics was in a terrible accident, so they were not only short staffed, but emotionally overwhelmed, too. Despite all of this, they focused their attention on getting the job done for each of their customers, including me! That same day, they had me in and out, free from the stress of car troubles. For the first time ever in an auto repair shop, I was brought back into the garage, and physically SHOWN what was wrong with my car, was instructed where to listen and what I was hearing, and was then told a perfectly detailed explanation of the options that I could pursue, and how important each thing was. Not only was I included in the decision-making process, but I was NEVER nickel-and-dimed. It was about making sure that I was happy and satisfied, at the lowest possible cost to me. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this shop, or the people there. Just go there and find out for yourself. Truly some of the sweetest, most genuine people I have ever met. I needed a new auto repair service and sort of stumbled on to Steve with an Internet search. The reviews looked good, so I decided to give him a shot. Steve saved me a substantial amount of repair money. Instead of remove and replace, as most shops would do, Steve done some actual repair work for a fraction of replacement cost. He truly cares about his customers and maintaining a good, positive, professional relationship. I WILL BE BACK.
Fixed an electrical problem that 3 other places misdiagnosed! Great open, honest communication and extremely personable! Steve and his guys are the absolute best. You wont find anyone more honest and willing to help out while actually diagnosing issues instead of just throwing parts at your vehicle. 5 stars ! The owner Steve is the absolute coolest most down to earth person known to man ! Even though my car was there for a while (it wasn’t their fault tho), they updated me each step of the way and I commend them for that. I would recommend anyone here honestly !
Very fair pricing. Thought I needed a new tailpipe, possibly muffler but he spliced the two at his suggestion since it was an older truck. Nice to find someone who fixes things without padding the bill. Thank you.

My exhaust pipe broke on my car and I budgeted $800 to get it fixed because my car runs a one piece pipe and the entire thing would have to be replaced. Unless you go to Steve! Steve welded my pipe in an extremely clean way, it ended up costing me a fraction of what I was expecting. AMAZING shop!!! Look past the woman on the other end of the line when you call to make an appointment. Shes really nice, just sounds mean :-p I WILL go back and I WILL tell my friends about them!

Took my sons 2002 Altima in for repairs about a year ago. Theres not to many people like Steve who took the time to show me what needed to be done to keep my son safe. Very grateful for his kindness and professionalism.
Customer service at its best. I was visiting Kalamazoo a few days before Christmas and broke down a few miles from West Main Muffler Man. I called and talked to the owner, he told me to come straight to the shop. He got my truck in, diagnosed, got the part delivered (wheel bearing), and repaired the truck within a couple hours. Cant say thanks enough. Good people.

Hi hey i had a problem with my( Do it outdoors) mobile billboard truck. And it was on a day when most places werent open, i happen to see Muffler man open. my truck was parked about 200 ft away but wouldnt start. so walked over told Steve what was wrong. heck he came right over with a portable jumper and it started but thought we might have a loose connection. when i got truck there sure enough it was a loose connection. he showed me before he tighten it. after that no problems what so ever . and i had some a week before not wanting to start . So very happy with the service . Thanks Steve way to go.
Customer Service doesnt get any better than the WM Muffler Man. Problems are diagnosed and repaired in a timely, accurate manner with pricing that wont break your bank. I recommend this location to all my friends and family (and they agree!)

I took my chevy impala to the muffler man on west main street a week before Thanksgiving. I had two wheel bearings done on the front end of the car. When the tech finished the job he pulls out and totally smashed the rear end of my car. The bumper, trunk is all damaged. This isnt the first time they wrecked someones vehicle. Tamela the lady that works in there told me not to worry the business has insurance my car will be fixed. If not theyll have to use a major credit card and fix my car. My car has been sitting at the auto body shop in Vicksburg for about 2 weeks. Theyre refusing to fix my car and their insurance hasnt contacted me. A whole month has gone by.. And I still dont have my car or the damaged repaired. They keep giving me the run around. My car is posted in the photos
Steve and his team has worked on three of my vehicles and from brakes to exhaust he has always been a straight shooter in fixing my cars. Well done work in a timely manner for a fair price.
Oh my goodness, where do I start? The customer service was superb, the receptionists, management, service workers, everyone was so amazing! They finished my car in no time, made a slot for me, helped me in explaining and taking the time to talk about my car, stayed open late just for me......such wonderful service and a great place to go!

I just replaced my tires with 4 new tires, and need alignments, it’s getting worse, and they said it’s because of tire problems. And I asked for redo, but nothing changed
Doesnt seem like they actually look at my car. They say they have the time to look at it, but then it sits around all day (sometimes multiple days) without word on anything. I have to call them to get updates and to know whats going on. Not as impressed as I originally was with them. 2/5

Stopped by because I heard a rattle underneath the car. They fixed the heat shield on the catalytic converter and had me on my way in fifteen minutes!

2018-02-26The BEST shop in town! Steve the owner is an honest friendly guy with a great team. Ive never completely trusted a mechanic before finding Muffler Man on West Main. When you walk in, the place has a great community atmosphere. They are always super busy because theyre good, its worth the wait. They always bring you into the garage and show you whats going on with your vehicle, just never a doubt like there is with other shops. I will never go anywhere else.

2020-08-19Popped in when I was down the street and realized I had a slow leak in my tire. They were slammed but took the time to fill up my tire, gave me a quick rundown of possible issues, and a game plan for me to fix it in the cheapest way possible by recommending other businesses, and charged me nothing for their time and advice. They seem to be good stewards of their community, even while being incredibly busy!

Ive been a repeat customer for 4 years, and these guys have hooked me up more times than I can remember.When it took Steve longer than he thought it would to get to my car, he gave me an incredible discount after he fixed the problem I was having. 2019-04-15Hands down where I will take my vehicle for everything.I was told by another car repair shop that my car needed $1200 in repairs, which basically totals my vehicle.I bring it here, and every step of the way I felt prioritized and appreciated. They walked me through why they thought the things they did and really made sure I understood what was going on with my vehicle. Their work ethic and passion for their craft is obvious.I saved over $1,000 by coming here. I will send all of my friends and family this way.This shop for sure has earned every 5 star review.

2019-12-27Reviewing for a friend. Very poor customer service, typical surprise upcharges when vehicle was picked up. My friend actually had to return his car to Steve multiple times for the same runability issue, only to end up scrapping the car after the third time he was told it was all set. Besides that, a frequently rotating staff and an owner Ive watched get into customer vehicles with a lit cigarette make it a very unappealing choice to me. I wouldnt go here.

I’ve brought my car here a few times and every single time Steve goes above and beyond to make sure my car is taken care of. Please do yourself a favor, and bring your car to be worked on here. 2017-08-31We have been going to this muffler man for a little over a year now after being referred by a friend. Steve and the rest of the staff are extremely honest and they are always so friendly. I wouldnt go anywhere else after having met them. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they have never tried to sell anything that your car doesnt need. If you need a mechanic definitely give them a call!

2018-03-30My Appointment was at 11. Got there at 1030 and didnt even have my car in a bay till 2:40pm.The appointment was scheduled a week in advance, i wasnt a last minute squeeze in and i wasnt a walk in.The job was replacing 3 wheel studs. Super quick and easy, only reason i didnt do it myself is because discount tire broke them and was paying for the job and parts.They wont see me again.

2018-02-02Brought our Subaru here with a torn up oil filter not knowing what to do with it, Steve the owner was very very helpful. Explained what he had to do and got it all put back and the oil changed no problem. Even had it brought inside to do a safety inspection right away because we showed up before it was done. Amazing people, all so helpful.
