Posting 1 as I cannot go below that ! Worst possible community. This place is a perfect example of Dont judge a book by its cover. The community may visually look better with the lakes, but be ready to lose your mind if you are planning to lease in this community. Below is just part of my experience, I have had friends who lived there and had their house start leaking water all over and all muirwood had to say was , we can shift you to a new house with the new pay and you will have to take a new lease.I stayed there for a year now and the most i was able to get them to respond was after me leaving the community when they had to settle balances.Their houses are not in good condition, maintenance orders never get answered and they close them out without completing them. I had multiple work orders pending for months. The people in their leasing office are extremely rude and make sure to forget about your security deposit !. And the list goes on ! Their 2.3 rating should say it all by now ! LEASE AT YOUR OWN RISK !!
Do not move here! There is a reason there are so many negative reviews. This community is so unorganized, it was a nightmare from beginning to end. Our A/C never worked properly and even after multiple calls to the complex it was never properly fixed and we were forced to pay $500 electric bills each month in the summer because of it. Multiple calls to fix things went unanswered, honestly no one there cares at all. When it was time to move out they kept our entire security deposit and sent us a bill for $500 more! We requested an itemized list for charges & materials and were completely ignored. Never even received a call back after MULTIPLE attempts. I do not recommend living in Muirwood.
I have been trying to get hold of the leasing office for over a week and call everyday just to fill in the application for the right apartment and making payment. Trust me its soooo difficult to get any kind of help. If this is the situation now, I doubt how they treat their residents.
We are newly married couple who decided to stay at this place because of the nice area and security and nice place. But once we decided to get a apartment to lock it in Anthony at the office spoke to us and let us know we are all set we just have to fill out the paperwork. That same evening he ended up telling us that place wasn’t available anymore so we got a different apartment number. Then the first month our automatic payment did not go through Muirwood charged us $100 then $50 each day without even letting us know. We explained them that the auto payment didn’t work but we weren’t aware there was an issue. They still charged us. Every month after that they kept on charging us a fee for some reason or another. We probably paid over $5000 just in fees and monthly lease extension for moving out and final walk we gave them all the keys they still charged us for missing keys the carpet being old which came just like it was we didn’t do any damage probably paid over $2500 just for walk out didn’t get out full deposit back. The office and all the workers including the managers and especially Cheyenne in there was really ruthless people the rudest most low ratchet people because the next year we wanted to change our apartment to a different number on the first floor and she goes why are you down grading we don’t allow that you need to either upgrade to a bigger place or move out. She was such a low life rude personality I don’t even know how Muirwood can hire people like that for management staff. One day she won’t have a place. We decided to move out that year we were done with being in anxiety every month and ended up buying a condo thank you Cheyenne it worked out for us!
WHAT A SCAMI have lived here for over a year and made the biggest mistake of my life renewing here. AC has been broken for over a year now and maintenance never fixes it. They come for five minutes, claim they have made the repair and leave. Got to 93 degrees in my apartment. Ive tried calling the office everyday for weeks and they always sound annoyed, even though they arent the ones living in a sauna. This apartment complex will take you for everything you have and then leave you dry. Any positive review has to be posted from staff because this place is terrible. Oh and after hours if you need help dont worry security wont listen to your problem and hang up on you twice and the security guards at the front gate sometimes will just let anyone through without stopping them first. Beztak, the property management company for Muirwood wont help you either. Not to mention their pool is always closed and their is always something wrong with the gym. I ignored the bad reviews and decided to move in anyways. Dont make the same mistake I did, this place treats their residents terribly and doesnt care about you, just your money.
I moved in MARCH 2021I will share the good first: the property seems safe and the gate entrance staff does a very good job with ensuring safety of incoming traffic. Next if you get an apartment with good windows and a view it’s beautiful. Don’t get tricked by the view though. However, I gave them 2 stars because the property is old, outdated, and most EVERYTHING was broken in my apartment on my move in day. The kicker is that they didn’t show me the apartment I was to move into prior to my move in. I was only shown a beautiful model and told that the apartments had the same lay out which is very misleading. They also only hand you keys and tell you to find your apartment on your own. Upon check in of my new apartment:chipping paint, nasty bathroom tub, oven still had grease from prior tenant, broken dishwasher (it spilled water everywhere when it was turned on and they tried to fix it 5 times before determining that they’d have to replace it), broken balcony banister, oven hood falling off, balcony handle broken, poor patched wall cracks, broken closet door, old carpet (causes a weird smell), and the office staff; well very unprofessional depending on who you get. However, they came right away to try and fix everything (even though the maintenance guy got caulk on my couch from trying to repair cracks in the wall) but I was also very vocal with my disappointment.Bottom line is that the apartment wasn’t turned over properly. I would have moved out day 1 if I hadn’t had only a 6 month lease (I’m buying a home). Nonetheless, If you’re looking for something long term or more updated and high end at the cost LOOK ELSEWHERE and pay the extra $$$ if you can. This isn’t it... the price only reflects the location, and school district
This place could be a great place, but the staff up front is rude disrespectful and just tasty, Marcus at the front desk is so sweet and nice. I have been waiting on a light near the handicap parking to be fix now going on three years. If anything goes wrong that you need maintenance forget it fix it yourself or it will not be done for weeks. Snow removal is terrible no saw, but they will put a hole bucket at your front door. The driveway stay icy and the roads cause it’s not salt down. They don’t remove snow from your driveway. You for sure don’t get your money’s worth in this complex. The rent goes up and the service goes down. The people at night on the gate just leave the gate up while he sits there. Why have a gate? This place is overrated.
Whatever you do DO NOT live here. My wife and I have lived here for 3 years and have been good tenants. There were some issues with our apartment moving out and rather than giving us some leeway and bearing some of the cost, they wouldn’t budge at all and made us pay over $500 for damages (in addition to our whole security deposit) that weren’t wholly our fault. They do not care about your financial situation or how good of a tenant you’ve been. They will not work with you because all they care about is their bottom line and what they can get away with in order to maintain it. Very unethical management. Do not be fooled on what you see on the outside when you first see the place. Please save yourself money and heartache and live somewhere else. I do not recommend this place one bit!
Had so many issues with this complex and I didn’t even get the chance to live there. Please consider this review if you’re planning on moving here. I had toured one of their 1 bedroom models and everything seemed good so I decided to apply for one of their units, I was initially promised an October 4th move in date, on the day I sent in my application they were prompt to call me and inform me that I was missing some documentation, which they stated I had to provide within 24 hours because that was the amount of time they could hold the apartment for. I sent in the document an hour and a half after the call and received no correspondence back. I called that day to confirm that it was received but was unable to even speak to anyone in the office. I called the following day and was once again unable to speak to anyone. I called the day after that and still no response. Finally on the 4th day of trying to reach someone I was able to talk to someone after calling 7 separate times and was even hung up on, they then proceeded to tell me that they gave that apartment away even though I sent them everything they asked for in a very prompt matter. I decided to bite the bullet and change my move in date for another unit a month later and $30 more expensive per month. They said it would be a few days for approval which I accepted and waited for communication. Again! I received no correspondence until I called them, they then told me they don’t know when it will get approved, second red flag. I finally was approved for my second move in date, I straightened my finances, took care of insurance, gas, electric and got all of my services squared away. Out of the blue I received another call from the person I was working with stating that the new apartment was no longer available due to “unforeseen circumstances” which they said they were not obligated to disclose to me. I took this as a sign and decided to terminate my already signed lease agreement. Overall my experience with muirwood was a disaster, I went through weeks of stress and anticipation with no communication only to be misguided and discarded. I don’t recommend anyone to move into this complex if this is how they treat someone who is literally trying to MAKE THEM MONEY, lord knows how they treat their residents who have already signed an agreement and forked them over their cash.
DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE! A few weeks after I signed a lease I was told that the apartment was not going to be ready in time so they basically told me I had no choice but to resign a lease for another apartment that is $30 more a month. Now, four days before I’m supposed to be moving in, I am told that, despite paying for the whole day, I cannot move in until 4PM. The only response I’m being given, by the very rude leasing manager, is that it is their policy. So I am paying for the whole day but can’t move in until 4PM? This has been extremely inconvenient. I have had more problems with this apartment complex than any other complex I’ve stayed at and I haven’t even moved in yet!
I lived here for more than 3.5 years. But management is ungrateful and disrespectful to the tenents once the lease is signed. The phones would never be picked up. When you get to the office in person, the staff wouldnt be available. When they do, they dont even show you the courtesy to offering seats while you discuss your concerns. I have heard other communities in the area waiving the lease breakage charges and repairs, especially if you are moving to a newly bought home or lived there long enough. But, with these apartments, despite serving the complete lease term, I was hit with high repair charges for normal wear and tears ($1400+). They wont give enought time despite the pandemaic and their unvailability to negotiate. My friends were refused upgrades even as their family grew and them willing to wait. They increase rents irrationaly year after year despite the poor maintenance services. Also, they wont help or check with dispropotinatley high power bills ($250) in my apartment during the summers. Dont get fooled by the pretentious response from the owner here. Nothing has improved. Dont know where all those millions going into!
Have been staying here since 3 years. So far no major complains. Within these 3 years there has been drastic change in management. Have become insensitive and rude towards the residents. First they changed the apartment move in date by 2 weeks, charged us for their delay. We requested if we could get the keys a day before, they are like your not staying on the streets, you have roof. Okay we dint say anything. After we shifted everything to the new apartment found out AC is not working. I am 36 weeks pregnant, temp is 88 degrees can’t bear heat. When my husband went to complain they are like people deliver babies in 90 degrees.Totally insensitive and rude people in office. paying so much rent upfront to be treated like this.
I was residing muirwood apartments from April 2017 in single bedroom apartment and I applied lease transfer to 2Bed /2 Bath apartment (They said newly renovated apartment :)) last month. I requested the see apartment condition before seeing move in they didnt allow to see the apartment. Saturday, I got the keys from the leasing office happily and eager to see move to new apartment. As soon as I open the apartment I am shocked after see the apartment condition also I didn’t the consumer energy/DTE energy / Internet everything to new apartment and I am forced to move to this new apartment because I packed all my stuff in old apartment , arranged the packers and movers everything. Immediately I went to complain to leasing office they said I am responsible only for sales she asked me to talk to manager on Monday.Monday morning, I went and spoke to the leasing manager. I showed the pictures and condition of the new apartment and she agreed the apartment is not in movable condition. She asked question is the apartment in my possession or you returned the keys to leasing. I said apartment in my possession. now she is telling I am not responsible to fix the issues, but I will forward your request to service team and she didn’t commit to fix issues. now I am in full depression.I am request to everyone please do not think about this apartment it’s a junk apartment everything old. don’t believe them nothing is renovated but their advertisement they will say renovated. you can see the apartment condition after renovation in my pictures. To Owner :I contacted and i sent a lot of email to service coordinator and Property manager . so far they fixed only drywall and nothing else is fixed and now service service coordinator is telling, Your apartment storage room will not come with shelfs and this is not acceptable, when all other apartments having shelfs why my apartment itself not come with shelfs? . Who is the right person to contact for the issues.
We had a horrible experience staying in Muirwood apartment. We lived for one and half year and had many maintenance issues and most importantly these apartments are nearly centuries old and they are not renovated. We heard crackling noise all day and night from roof when someone walks. We had this issue throughout our stay. Interesting part is when I informed this issue to leasing office people their response = “Since these apartments are old some crackling noise will be there and live along with it”. I will never recommend someone to move into this apartment.
Didn’t even move in and had a terrible time with the leasing process and office! We toured the apartments and fell in love with it. They were very kind and professional from what we could see and the apartments overall were really nice. We applied online as we were told to do. We called shortly before we applied and were told that all the buildings were dog friendly and seeing that we had a dog, we went ahead and applied to the one we liked. Well, once we applied and were approved they changed the apartment we chose in the system without a phone call or notice. We called them to ask why they changed it and they said the one we chose wasn’t dog friendly. I immediately got upset because they specifically told us that we could apply to any of them. I called many times to complain but no response for days. Every time we called, they’d say someone will call back but no one ever did. I ended up speaking to the manager/worker Alissa who was extremely rude and short with me and told us there was nothing they could do. We left it alone. The next day we look at our apartment and they changed the rate to a much higher rate again with no call/email or notice. I call again to ask why. They said they’d give a call back and we got no response for days. We ended up getting another place. Again, we hadn’t even moved in and there customer service deterred us. I’m extremely disappointed because we loved this place but the customer service was terrible.
I want to commend Austin, and the rest of the crew in maintenance for getting my requests taken care of expeditiously. Ive had to reach out to them a few times recently since Ive moved in and theyve been right on top of things. I received a response today from David in the Beztek maintenance office about a door slam in the entrance of my building that shakes the entire wall of my apartment. I put in the request this morning, and he advised me that he would have a team member check this out on Monday 11/8/21. I really appreciate this service. Ive read all the reviews and am sad that so many have had a bad experience overall. Yes, this is an older community that needs many updates for Muirwood Apts. to be on top again like it was some time ago. In my opinion, the property owners have a responsibility to this large community and repair all that needs attention and invest the money, time, man-woman power, and materials to update and maintain this beautiful community. As to the management office, Alicia and her team have only been very helpful and kind to me.
My bedroom window can not be open. Maintenance told me it can not be fix. I have called and sent emails to corporate office no reply. Very poor customer service. So I have to turn on the air conditioner to keep cool at night. This is costly. So I hope the next tenant is aware of this dilemma when they rent this apartment when I move.
Worst place I have EVER lived!!! The maintenance is HORRIBLE and management couldnt care less. I escalated issues to corporate and never got a response. I moved into the apartment sight unseen because they couldnt show it before it was ready but it wouldnt be ready until the day I moved in so Id only seen the model which was NOT comparable to my unit...AT ALL. To name a few of the issues I had when I took possession: master bathroom had to be completely redone, shower tiles, tub and doors, vanity replaced and both toilets leaked; Kitchen was dirty, carpet dirty and should have been replaced, paint running down the walls, ceiling cracked, laundry room/washer FILTHY, tub in second bathroom needed to be re-glazed, blinds dirty. After moving into an apartment that was NOT move in ready I spent the entire first 2 months arguing with management and getting NOWHERE!!! I would have NEVER moved in with it being in the condition that it was given to me in. Their solution was you can be released from your lease with no penalty. Who wants to go through moving AGAIN after just moving??? Well, eventually, before the end of my lease, I took them up on that offer and left before my lease ended because I couldnt take anymore. In the winter snow removal is nearly non existent, the parking lot was a sheet of ice for days! My boyfriend swept and shoveled my walk way so I can have a path inside when I got off work. Maintenance takes WEEKS for SIMPLE requests. I WISH I HAD READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE I MOVED IN!!! After I moved out I was charged for replacing burners on the stove (that were dirty when I moved in) and an additional $50 for disposal of personal items, the personal items in question were an air freshener at the front door and a small pint of ice cream in the freezer...there was not another single item left in the unit and they charged $50 for that---unbelievable. It would have saved me time, energy and money on moving a second time in a year. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pay attention to these reviews!!! As I have read them I can honestly say I agree, the common thread is poor maintenance and lackluster staff---they are accurate and had I read these BEFORE moving in would have never made that mistake!!!
I have worst experience with this apartment, We created 4 or 5 complaints non of them addressed lot of cockroaches in the apartment I opened service request no one showed up, bathroom clogged some one showed up after 3 days we fixed by our self, AC is not working we opened service ticket 3 days back no one showed up, we are staying in hot temperatures.
I’m concerned. I was merely a delivery driver and the front gate person required my driver’s license and took a photo. As prevalent as ID theft is these days, I’m concerned about the safety of what was taken. I have recorded this place as a possible breach and if any suspicious activity occurs, this will be the first place I will tell authorities.
If you are a person who wants to sleep in a noisy environment after a long work day, in that case this is your place. If you want a peaceful sleep, look for other options. !!!!We lived in this community for 1.5years and we regretted each day for opting this community . Never had a proper sleep as the apartments were very old and when someone walks on the above floor, tiny footsteps sound is heard loud. When we complained about the roof creaking noise, the maintenance guys said we were lucky that the noise is not too loud and there were apartments in the community where it was worst than ours.I would have given zero rating and would never recommend anyone moving here.
Hell No!I would never recommend anyone signing up lease here !Trust me if you do! Then you cnt expect any quick service from them. We loved there for over year and half and it’s like all the neighbours are living with us . Lot of roof creaking noise that too early morning and late nights. We complained multiple times but they clearly stated we cnt do anything. Not flexible in terms of anything. Our unit wasn’t having any bike racks near by waste of ever suggesting anything to the management.
The worst community to live in Michigan. I am a current resident of Muirwood , our A/C is making a very loud noise and our walls are vibrating all the night. I almost raised a maintenance request for more than 3/4 times , the people who came repair said the A/C can’t be repaired and the unit has to be replaced but this management is not caring the resident issues at all.the staff in the leasing office were very rude . I’m very much disappointed.Never ever think to lease here.
So not pleased with Muirwood! I have been staying here since two years now and I wanted to extend my lease by three more months. They’ve asked me to pay +500$ (+37%) to my current rent. How is this even reasonable? ADDING $500 TO THE BASE RENT! At times like these we need more understanding people in the community. They did not even for a second consider this request and talk about negotiation. It’s sad that I have to deal with this and I wish none of you do. Unreasonable unreasonable unreasonable! I wish I could give negative ratings. Customer service and satisfaction is so important in these modern times but these people take advantage of our uncertainties.EDIT: As asked by the owner, I reached out to them in the office and all I got was “Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do”. I have visited their office thrice, what a waste of time that was.
The worst management team. No action will be taken even after placing a lot of maintenance requests.Never answers the calls/ requestsRoofs are horrible. Literally people living in the 1st floors can never ever stay in house. Continuous creaking noise.Never fixes issuesNot even worth half of what you pay as rent.
This is ONE OF THE WORST APTS I have ever lived since I have moved to the US. The maintenance service is simply HORRIBLE. Everytime I call to follow up my open ticket, they say that Maintenances is working on Emergency tickets. The lady Michelle (Service Coordinator) spoke to me very rudely while I was trying to explain her my empathy. The worst part is, they canceled my open ticket that I had put in for maintenance. I have been following up on my ticket since third week of July, they keep saying we will get to your ticket. Maintenance is working on emergency ticketsI wouldnt recommend my friends/family to ever consider Muirwood or its sister properties.
Great complex very clean and friendly. Feel very safe with the visitor entrance. It’s very quiet and family friendly. One thing is that the walls are very thin and did not get any welcoming when moving in just gave me a packet with keys and said go find your apartment. Complex is very easy laid out so wasn’t that hard to find apartment. Just would’ve liked more of a welcome to your new home. Felt more like a business not a community.
This place, by far, has the rudest, least helpful, and absolutely atrocious service and management you will ever know. We lived in Muirwood for over 2 years and the number of issues was astounding. When we first moved in, they were seemingly helpful.DO NOT FALL FOR IT!We had maintenance issues time and time again. Our doorknob on the front door fell off and they asked if the dead bolt still worked which apparently made it okay that we had no door handle?I went into the office 3 times for that same issue until it was finally resolved after 5 weeks. The next maintenance issue we had was in 2020 when our air conditioner stopped working entirely.I put in a maintenance request and they stated it would be about two weeks. This initially made me angry because it was in the thick of summertime and I was 7 months pregnant, but ok, we will wait. After 2 weeks, we contacted them again and got the same response. After 6 WEEKS, I had it.I went into the office building, during COVID and while 8 months pregnant, to see when they were going to have it fixed.I was told they “weren’t fixing air conditioning units anymore because it was September and if we needed heat, they could work on that.” I was blown away.It was still 70 degrees outside, and it had been 6 weeks since I put in the request!!!I asked that our rent be adjusted but because it had not been over 85 degrees in those 6 weeks, they would not adjust our rent. Mind you, we lived in an upper unit, so it was HOT. Forget it if we needed to do laundry or cook – it added a couple more degrees! They claim they have updated apartments when they are not. There were cracks in the ceilings, the tub in the bathroom never drained properly, the shower head was coming off the wall, the stand up shower was old, the windows made a screeching noise when you opened them, you had to use a little metal piece and screw it to the window if you wanted them to stay open, the neighbors below us stated when we ran our sink that their sink would overflow but Muirwood would not fix it.They also have a guy drive around in a beat-up, rusty, old, white van taking things from people’s carports. We had an incident with a small grill being taken and thrown away with no warning. They claimed to have “left a note on our door that must have blown away” and “sent an email” but when asked to show proof of this email, we got no reply. This man also takes chairs, tables, and kid’s bikes if they are left out (not ours luckily). They expect you to have nothing outside of what is supposed to be your home.To boot, they did not provide bike racks up until a couple months before we moved out.The sidewalks around the neighborhood are narrow so only one person can walk on it at a time.It seems like instead of paying a man to drive around taking people’s things, they should focus that energy on fixing people’s homes in a timely manner without making them beg.Upon moving out, we supplied them with our new address so they would be able to send us information regarding our deposit. They were supposed to send us an itemized list of “damages” they had found (if any) and what the apartment was left like.We took a video of the place before leaving to ensure we had proof.I reached out two weeks after we had left by email to see about our security deposit… crickets.I reached out a second time… crickets.I finally reached out a THIRD time because we received no statement, and by law if they do not give this to you, they forfeit their right to your security deposit.THE FIRST TIME I HEARD ANYTHING WAS AFTER A COLLECTIONS AGENCY CALLED US! By the third email and no response, I called Muirwood and they stated they had sent the itemized list and then verified our new address. If things do not get to someone’s mailbox, they return it to the sender. This reminds me a lot of when they “put something on our door and it blew away” or the “email” they had sent us.Anyway, we will not be paying for the “damages” because we have proof of the condition the apartment was left in and emailing several times with no response. We will see them in court!
10 maintenance issues every now and then. Even if it is an emergency issue, you have to wait for them to resolve the problem in order in which they have received it just like normal maintenance requests. We have been boiling at home with our air conditioning stopped working for the 4th time in 10 days. We told a customer service rep Meshail that we have an INFANT at home, and the temperature at home is 90 degree F, we need to maintain certain temperature at home, the lady tells me That its 85 actually. How can a representative have the audacity to respond to me like that? I have a temperature control monitor at home which tells me the actual temperature in my bedroom. I am pretty sure next week, the air conditioning will stop working again. Feel like placing these emergency requests in advance. They always say, that the maintenance guys are busy. If the community is very large, they need to increase their staff as well. AC problem, Electricity plug, drainage problem, sliding door problem, door plug came off the door & and the door was about to crash- (this got resolved after 2 months of placing maintenance request), bedrpom window does not open and many more. As you can see in the picture, my baby is sleeping in a bedroom where the temperature is between 89-90!! We place our 4th emergency request..and no one has showed up. When someone showed up 3rd time to resolve the ac issue, the AC stopped working in hours and we had to place 4 th emergency request. Its been 2 days now we have been boiling at home. So including last emergency requests, we have been without AC for more than 6-7 days in 10-12 days sleeping in 88-90 temperature. No one picks up the call at the emergency number . Please read all the reviewed before considering living here. I would rate zero starts if one wasn’t mandatory.
This apartment complex is a disgrace. Their maintenance team and response is the worst youll find anywhere. Everything is outdated so it needs to be fixed often. Youll have to wait weeks for it to be fixed. They will go far out of their way not to compensate you for trouble or the money they caused you to spend. Go anywhere else and youll have a better time.
Legit the worst apartment experience that I’ve ever had. But somehow the most costly! I WANT OUT. It’s not worth a fraction of what they charge to live in. The apartment I asked for wasn’t the one I got and it was nothing I can do about it because I didn’t discover this until move-in day. I proved to them that I was given the wrong apartment and youd think they’d offer me some type of discount or lease adjustment ? Not at Muirwood. My apartment is overran by huge spiders and All they ever offer to do is have someone come and spray. I thought at some point when they saw that spraying wasn’t working they would try a different approach. Nope, not at Muirwood. Management goes back-and-forth with you like helping you or putting a work order in comes out of their personal paycheck. I had very few requests when it came to what I wanted in a place to call home. The one thing I said I did not want under any circumstance was to live on the bottom floor. And that’s exactly what I got. I live underneath a family that is up all day and all night banging on stuff in the kitchen. Marching around the house at all hours. And being that the buildings are old and not updated you can hear everything. From every apartment around me. Each time someone on the third or second floor uses their garbage disposal I smell it in my drain and it stinks up my entire kitchen. A few other really messed up things that happened was my toilet bathtub and kitchen sink overflow with sewage within the first 90 days of me moving here and it made my dog and I ( prego at the time) very sick. For the past 4 months someone in our building has been stealing packages and I asked for someone in the office to intervene to prevent an altercation. Not at Muirwood. I was told to send in a police report and that they did not want to get involved. But they make sure to get involved with petty stuff like a plant being on your patio I sending a site wide email for that. Or how about the time they let Comcast into my apartment and left my door wide open with not even a note, email or anything. I had to wait for family to come over and inspect my apartment for safe entry of me and my newborn. I sent an email and voicemail asking why they left my door wide open demanding a response. Do you think I got one? Not at Muirwood.
Ive been living here since October. So far Im really enjoying this complex. I love how close it is to the grocery store and freeway. I also enjoy being able to walk around the complex with my son. I do hate how small the sidewalks are. Many end up walking in the street and this can be dangerous . So so far its been ok.
My Son moved in Muirwood early May of this year 2021... His carpet is dirty and hard, it feels like youre walking on Rocks. The living-room wall has streaks in it, like someone washed it with a dirty rag. The worst part is No One ...Absolutely No One Cares... The Manager in the Office told him to send pictures. That was over a month ago. Still No Reply. Someone in the Office told him he Cant Have New Carpet. I.
This one of the worst apartment building I have ever lived at the do not help you with anything or communicate good with you. Also I had a 2bedroom 2 bathroom and I wanted to switch to upgrade and they won’t let me because I had a returned payment but they did not tell me that I can’t pay with a debit card, So now I have to wait 6months to even move to a new one and I don’t even feel safe In my own home but they do not care.
Dont move hereWe were slightly late when we moved out notifying them that we werent renewing our lease and were fined over $800, even though we left the apartment spotlessly cleaned. They are greedy and I read many horror stories of them loading up on charged when you move out.
This place is going downhill! Very unprofessional and poor management.I called to complain about cars blocking my parking spot couple of times and no action was taking. Also, it looks like The caregivers of the resident underneath my apartment smoke Cigarettes and/ or MARIJUANA in the patio and the odor spreads throughout the building and your apartments as well.I did raise complaints with management, but they didn’t care and no action was taking. They advised me to contact the Farmington Hills Police Department in case of future incidence. One of the assistant managers was extremely rude and hung up the phone on me.
Never ever recommend to visit this place if you are not resident. I was guest trying to visit a friend during daytime only. The lady at the gate was so rude to talk as if I am there to damage the property. She wanted to show id on the camera and I had no issues in that. I can understand because of covid she must be taking care of to not touch the id.But then she took id from me to see my last name.Guys, be consistent in what you want to do with proper reasoning.Being rude will not solve anyones purpose.Dont cover your mistakes behind the name of property policiesI had this treatment for the second time. I was also resident here sometime back and have no better experience as such.Look for other properties and better avoid this one if possible.
Read to get the real experience before you get locked in.Absolutely terrible and disrespectful staff. Once you sign your name on the lease and give them the $640 worth of fees. You become less then human in the way the treat you.I was giving the same speech as everyone who comes here. They make it seem like this a a nice place of business, but we paid for a 2 bedroom and signed the lease just for 3 days before our move in date for them to breach contract and tell us they let the old resident resign their lease instead.
HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I stayed in the complex for 1 year and never had a pleasing moment. Getting through the front gate is not as easy at it would seem. Inside my home, every single closet door came off the hinges. The carpets were not clean at all. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY RACK UP LIKE $500 EXTRA TO EXTEND YOUR LEAVE FOR HOWEVER LONG
Debbie is the worst rudest nastiest raciest property manager ever!! she has no respect for ANYONE she’s always rude and very standoffish whenever you address her with a concern she ignores you! If there becomes a petition to sign count me in! this company is the worst i’ve ever dealt with in my 56 years of life!
Horrible ac unit it breaks every other month . This month it broke 1.5 weeks back , I have raised a maintenance issue when it broke and maintenance never comes on time . I have been calling daily ever since but of no use still .It is 90F inside home currently and increases to even 95 -100F during evening time . Miserable condition to live in . Definitely moving out as soon as lease is up !
This company treats their occupants like we live on a plantation! every day we get email after email about what we can’t do here and the list of can’ts are much more longer than what we can do! it’s sad and it feels like our human rights as citizens are stripped away from us living in this community! you can’t have anything on your patios no flowers we can’t bbq here can’t have children play outside can’t have themplay inside can’t do this can’t do that! the onlything they want us to do here is pay thousands for rent and sleep! I hate it here and i definitely won’t be returning, i thought this would be a nice community to retire in but how wrong was I! this place is ran like a cult! don’t say i didn’t warn you all
06/24. Muirwood after your reply here. I am trying to contact the office (15th call) since four days and no resolution. You guys are useless! Not sure whats going on but you guys should be closed by the county to conduct the property management businessRude maintenance emergency staff. Rude front staff. Rude everyone. My AC is down since two days now at 90F with no prompt response. MUIRWOOD DO YOU READ THE COMMENTS OR JUST SCROLL THROUGH. YOU GUYS HAVE A 24 HOUR MAINTENANCE GUARANTEE THAT IS IN NO SENSE FOLLOWEDSOMEONE SHOULD FILE A CASE AGAINST THEM. THEY HAVE TWEAKED REVIEWS IN THEIR WEBSITE. MAINTENANCE PROMISE IS FALSELY CLAIMED.Should change to name to DISASTER APARTMENTS02/19 update I have now uploaded pictures of the snow management here. How will a person walk out. My car is stuck trying to commute as you can see.as you see on the third picture I had to plough the snow myself just to get it out. 1290 bucks of rentNew lease agents need a customer communication lesson 101 course. The only reason muirwood might be a good option is it is accepted by a minor community who can feel safe to the most part. But customer satisfaction is still missing.Update on 02/2/2021I need a maintenance service for issue with window blinds fixture, been calling them for two days no one is picking and no call back on my voice mail. DO NOT COME HEREUpdate on 08/26/2020I finally moved in and soon I enter the garbage disposal was not working. Tried calling maintenance no answer. This place is full of useless people at the front office.Update on 07/02/2020I booked an apartment and they canceled it stating the resident does not want to vacat(THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE A 90-60 DAYS POLICY!!!). THIS IS GETTING COMPLICATED AND TEDIOUS TASK.) and now they are proposing a costlier apartment. TO A POTENTIAL RESIDENT - PLEASE SEE OTHER OPTIONS that my take on this
It is a great experience to live in these apartments. Very responsive office and a very comfort place. What makes our family every day happy to see, is Martha Cruz-Guevara. She is the loveliest person in this community. A welcoming smile and a very friendly language. All the employees are good, but she has something special that makes our house to feel like home. Love and respect! Shkembi family.
Came in thursday night at 10pm April 29th and i didnt have my i.d. but my friend did. When i was asked why i didnt have my i.d. by the gate staff ( short white haired woman who seemed new of Caucasian descent) i begin to explain how an officer had taken it and never gave it back as i thought it was just a small talk opening i was suprised to hear what i heard next which wasnt pleasant small talk at all. The woman spat oh you must have been drunk driving in the most vile tone before i could finish my sentence. For starters it wasnt her business at all what happened and her remark was totally unprofessional. I was simply delivering food and as a visitor there was no hospitality at all.
Worst maintenance and management. When we try to reach out to the office for any issue they don’t even care to resolve ,instead just keep postpone them for weeks and comeup with a random excuse .I see owner responded to all the below reviews to contact office for help . If office resolved the issues then residents wouldn’t post the review here :( .
If I would have got a chance of giving negative reviews I would have given those. The management doesn’t even care about the service requests and calls that have been made for the fixes.I moved in August 2017 and since the day I moved in I had trouble with my bath tub.It was peeling and after 4-5dequests they fixed it and they told me that they would fix the drain the next day, they haven’t fixed it till date.I called them many times to fix the washer dryer problem and everytime they said that they will send out someone from maintenance to take a look at it even they din’t send anyone to fix it.Now comes the best part of their carless attitude, They access system was not work both with card and through phone call(i tried it for more than 20mins) I went back to their security staff and explained them the situation. She was so careless that she said she can’t do anything till morning. They can’t fix it and their is no other option to enter the community. seriously?? Then how do you people promise about 24/7maintenance?How is it the residents fault that it was not working? The lady from the security staff was so rude that she said I doesn’t care about it.What kindoff attitude was that? I am paying thousands as rent. I don’t deserve that kindoff attitude. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.
Honestly I never leave a comment in general forums , I am a current resident and this is my honest review. I wish to give 0 stars but unfortunately i dont have an option here. Do not even think to stay here in this community. Please find the list of problems i am going through,1. Maintenance - If you raise the maintenance request or call the office or visit the leasing office they will provide the rude answers by ending up with useless arguments. They will not fix it at all though its an emergency.2. Apartment - They will show you the nice apartment in a nice place but dont expect you will get the same. Fake communications and promises.3. Office staff and Manager - Rude in nature.
The buildings are old and outdated as well as the appliances - because of this you will get charged an arm and a leg just to run your appliances and have a/c. I just moved here from Indy Green and my electric bill was $80 a month compared to $214 in the same month from Muirwood. When I went to the business office to talk to them about it they made me feel like a criminal and had very poor people skills. They then proceeded to tell me to call the maintenance office next time even though I called everyday for 2 weeks and nobody ever responded (left messages as well) - which prompted me to go into the office in person. It is a safe community and a great location but it is way too expensive for what you get and their customer service is the worst Ive ever seen - if you have a problem youre almost better off fixing it yourself than dealing with those people. The customer is NOT always right, was told to my face by someone working there - that should tell you everything you need to know.
When they say, These apartments go fast, they arent kidding! The leasing consultant, Wahab, worked hard to help me along as quickly as possible. Having lived in NYC for over 10 years, when someone tries to move you quickly, its usually (in my experience) to put something over on you. NOT in this case! I waited until the next morning, after I spoke to him, and the apartment was gone! He did try to warn me. Thankfully, there was another apartment only a little bit more expensive and an even better location available and I wasnt about to let this one go. Wahab was incredibly helpful, very kind, and made sure to walk me through every step of the process with patience. He even gave me some names of companies in the area that would help with my move. Ive never had to shop for an apartment solely online before. I was starting to get frustrated with the process until I heard from Muirwood. They were quick to respond and tremendously helpful.
All I can say is do not move here. I agree wholeheartedly with the previous resident who shared the warning of “Do not fall in this trap.” The buildings are OLD, I mean old, and cause problems inside their units. And they will tell you that AFTER you’re already stuck. Even their so called “newly renovated” units, which I selected, have MAJOR issues. For the rate they charge for rent the issues they have should be easily resolved. They have the worst maintenance I’ve ever experienced, NOT helpful and I won’t even comment on how terrible the property management is! It’s sad! I don’t even want to read their little follow-up comment because it’s all BOGUS. The last storm we received the snow was barely removed, it was like sliding on frozen snow/ice for 10 days. It looks very appealing on the outside but please be forewarned, this place is not as pretty as it seems.
I have been living in this community since 3 months. Except for community and stores and restaurants nearby, this community is useless in its service. The management is rude, the maintenance is horrible. I had my AC repair sitting since a week and hardly they are showing interest to fix it. Stay away if you are planning to move in. I will anyway go out after my lease.
Not the worth the headache.Application process was easy. Thomas was my leasing agent, and he was extremely helpful during the whole thing. Props to him.Be careful! Make sure you do everything electronically and save your documents for them. After losing my move in check in list, they tried to stick me with several large items that were damaged upon me taking the unit. After back and forth emails with an account manager who was either quite daft or simply being insanely obtuse, it took having to quote MI statutes and discussing how to proceed in the courts before it could be resolved. Muirwood is out only for money, and they think it is all owed to them. Make sure your move in checklist is thorough, complete, dated, and turned in digitally and in person. Otherwise, C will try to stick you with everything little thing they can imagine.Maintenance and management are nightmares. Depending on you who you get in the office, you have about 75% chance of dealing with someone who is either rude or disgruntled. On several occasions, I have had a maintenance request randomly cancelled with no explanation. When questioned, they either lied or never responded. Lord forbid you have the misfortune of speaking to someone in the business office. Probably 10% of my interactions there have ended amicably. I would not recommend this complex unless you really need to. Plenty of other homes and units in the area that are cheaper with nicer people. Maybe B and D had a rough day, but there is no excuse to straight up lie to a current resident, interrupt them constantly, and act in such a manner. Glad to be moving.
Very Very bad customer service. I spoke to anthony and some other guy later on the phone and he said there is a 2 bed 1 bath available and he gave me the apartment number 24107 and scheduled me for a tour on August 04 5:15 PM . I have leave the office to attend the tour so i did it but when i went to the leasing office the guy talks very rude and he said we dont have any apartment for you for specified dates even though they told its available and scheduled a tour. I mentioned them the apartment number which was told to me and all but they said you spoke to some customer service people and we dont care what they say,he said we are business office people and we are saying we dont have apartment for you.!! Hope they learn some manners!!Such a bad customer service!! zero star service!! Hands down!!
Disgusting maintenance. Takes forever to fix things. No one responds when called on the Services office number. The Main office people put us on hold and disconnect the call after a while. I dont understand why people have so much trouble to do their own job. And dont even ask me about Move-in condition of the house. They give the house in a most gross condition. Are you Moving in to this community soon? Be prepared to clean your house upon arrival...!
Worst experience I’ve ever had with any place I’ve ever rented before. They came into my apartment without my knowledge and sawed holes in my ceiling and moved all of my stuff.I also had cement in my toilet that leaked from above after they were renovating the apartment above mine, but worst part is they took DAYS to fix it and until I called management threatening to stay a hotel and send them the bill is when they sprung into action.1000% do NOT recommend this place. Complete disrespect from all employees including management, and the lack of care to you.
The place, area, atmosphere, neighborhood all of these are great. But the maintenance is so slow that they have not fixed the window that were malfunctioning since I moved in two weeks ago. The dryer issue was resolved quickly but the window takes forever to get fixed or replaced. I have not even received a phone call from the maintenance department.
I never wrote a bad review for any service, but this apartment really put me off and I have to tell people the truth: this place is horrible, and living here is the worst experience I ever had in my whole life. If I can, I would give them a negative star rating. Words cant describe how bad our living here is......We payed expensive rent with a payback of extremely poor service. They only care about the external appearance of this property and how to get you here, but the inside story is totally different. Once you signed the lease, they become rude and arrogant. We moved in a apartment with dirty floors, dirty and nonfunctional windows, broken door screen, exposed nails in balcony, nonfunctional kitchen with broken microwave oven held with duct tape, broken refrigerator, yellow nasty floor, almost falling down ceiling light...... (and a long list of other problems that I dont want to waste my time to list them all). This is not all; the worst thing is that we reported the problems several times (by phone and in person several times), there was absolutely no response at all for more than one month. Eventually we wrote an email to their headquarters, finally they showed up to fix some of the problems with a rude attitude, and there are still numerous problems left unfixed. It took us a lot of time to deal with these people trying to fix the problems with our apartment and still not get it all fixed. From previous reviews, you can tell that we are not the only people who suffered from their horrible management and we heard all sorts of complaints from our neighbors. Dont waste your time and money on this place!!!
I am giving this Apartment complex a great review even though I am not moved in yet ! I was welcomed by Wahab Butt, and he was so professional, took the time to answer all my questions, and advised me to apply because the rates change daily, which they did ! I am happy that he was so friendly and accommodating , and the property is clean, and it was everything I was looking for. Thanks again Wahab.
Muirwood shows itself as a luxury apartment complex that’s cares about its tenants, but all they really care about is your money. I was shown a nice furnished apartment for the layout I wanted, but you are not able to see an actual unit. After filling out an application and paying the fees and a security deposit, I asked to see the unit I would be renting and was told I’m not entitled to see it till I sign my lease agreement. This is the only place I have ever gone to that won’t show you what your renting. I have tried reaching out to them for a week about this incident. When trying, calls didn’t go through to their leasing office and they didn’t respond to emails. Do not make the same mistake I made and fill out that application.
If anyone is willing to move in to Muir wood apartments please change your plans. these apartments are just for showcase purpose. but if you enter inside totally worst. after 1 month of moving into the apartments there is leak in the 3rd floor that ruined the whole roof in the first floor. after 1 month i got the maintenance team after several times of bugging them. the maintenance guy told that it is hard to live here while the work is in progress. i talked with the service manager about the issue and asked for a different apartment. after a couple of time calling and explaining the issue she got mad on me and saying we are not stopping your water or heat you can stay in the apartment. that is ridiculous. she is very rude how the way she speaks. after going home all my household items what ever in the house is full of dust and everything is in the living room looks dirty because work is happening in bedroom , bathroom, kitchen, walk way, washer and dryer room. the problem is how hard it is to cleanup the things after the work done. how a person can live there. so just to let you guys know how bad is the service and how ridiculous the behavior is with the service team and manager. if you guys cant maintain the apartments then please stop giving to the people. this is the worst experience i ever had in my entire life. Apart from this my bell never worked and the blinds in the living room are from old ages never replaced them. lots of bugs in the carpet. complained complained complained....... nooooooooooo responseeeeeeeee.
Based on my experience staying almost 18 months in this apt, you should have extra care for everything during your stay otherwise your all security deposit will be almost gone during moving out time . I was wondered that I was charged $628 for those stains in the carpet as property damage list during moving out . . I had thought they will be charging some reasonable cost for carpet cleaning . As it looks small some stains or looks like few wine drops for me but for them it seems major stains . However the photos here I have attached for your ref and had been sent by Muirwood leasing office to notify me . Similarly , I was charged some couple of hundred dollars more in the section of cleaning and all and which seems to be really no sense for me . I realized now that I would have gone through the all reviews people posting here instead just believing the beautiful words from leasing staffs during move in time . Anyway happy stay !
I wish there is an option to give 0 rating. It’s the worst community I have ever stayed. I am happy that I signed shortest duration lease. They just collect money and don’t even care what happens to their residents. Their maintenance team is the worst in the entire world. I would never recommend this community for anyone. Maintenance team doesn’t even respond to calls or emails or even if you visit office.
I havent even moved in yet and they are making things so difficult; and after reading all the reviews, I regret my decision to sign the lease. The one and only reason I was moving here (temporarily) was because I wanted to be in the Farmington area, and this was the only apartment complex that had an apartment available at the time. I really dont want to take any names, but the staff has been generally rude to me, and I always have had to involve their manager to get any work done. For starters, I have been calling them for around a week, asking if the apartment is ready yet. Always the same response : Theyre working on it. I am moving in tomorrow and still I get the same response Theyre working on it.Firstly; my wife was visiting me from California, and I ask one of the staff members whether it was possible to show my wife the apartment day before I moved in. They say that my wife was not permitted (yes, they used that word) to enter the apartment because the lease is on my name, and they would have to charge me $100 if my wife were to enter the apartment. Wow, just wow. Fifth graders would do better admin work, Muirwood staff. I called for the manager who explains to me that they have 1400 apartments and they cannot work effectively resolving every single issue. Yes; Its not that they are unaware about their incompetency, its just that theyre unwilling to do anything about it.Secondly; AT&T dropped of my internet modem here two days ago (they shouldnt have but I dont expect better from AT&T). I was trying to reach them to see if the modem is in the mailbox or outside the door, as I am concerned, obviously. But here is their response: They will not tell me whether the internet modem is outside, or in the mail box, and neither will they let me come there and see for myself. I had to literally scream at the staff to get me to speak with their manager who eventually had the box dropped inside the apartment.Thirdly, and this is the best one; One of the staff member tells me they only take rent payments online. And when I ask them where exactly do I pay (website etc), they say that thats not their problem. I dont know whether to laugh or cry. Confused, I try and ask the same to the manager. She says that i can drop a check on the date of my move in.I dont really blame the staff. Theyre incompetent, thats all. They are what they are because of people like us, who rent these 1400 apartments, who have no other choice but to make people like them feel entitled. My opinion of Muriwood wont change unless theyre willing to change.P.S. Muirwood: Since your calls are recorded for quality purposes, please take the time to listen to those recordings and analyze what youre doing wrong, and maybe you wont get so much hate.
This is the worst apartment someone can live. They will never pick up your call. If you request any service request they will take more than 2 weeks to response and never reply to email. They have renovated the apartment will very low quality appliances which are not working from day1. As I am working as a contractor I lived in many places but this place is kind of nightmare . Stay away from here.
PLEASE BEAWARE OF THIS APARTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I believe, this is one of the worst apartments in the whole world. After moving out they tried to rip me off $3850 in the name of property damage and insufficient notice.I was charged in the name of damages that were pre-existing.Due to the COVID, I called in leasing office and informed about my move out in August 2020 they told me that they’ll update the move out information in their system. After moving out they sent me a notice saying insufficient notice and charged $1041.10 for samePlease do not believe in them, all lies and not supportive. Forget about the security deposit, even if we handover the unit in the same condition anyways, they will charge us only.I want to take this matter to court and consumer department. Its total rip off, ridiculous and unethical. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
This has got to be one of the worst places to live. Honest when I moved in I was told by others it wasnt so bad, but that has changed. Initially when I moved in I wrote/verbally told the apartment complex on move in that my kitchen cabinets didnt lock in place and would fall off, the doors didnt have the latch so they didnt lock in the room, there was a huge hole in the underneath the kitchen sink in the cabinetry. Honestly you would think they would do a walk through. They put in a new stove that didnt even fit so every time I opened my oven door it gets stuck. All of these items either took way too long to get fixed or didnt get fixed even now almost one year later of moving.Later my secondary bathroom tiles were bursting at the seams and it took 2-3 weeks to get that repaired and no notice of when a date was set. Because they had to work with a third party. And they fixed this without notifying me having someone else not from the apartment fix it and leave my bathroom a mess. They then sent me my renewal notice letting me know my rent was going up, however when I asked to for some sort of negotiation the business team pretty much gave me a slap in the face with a $15 off the renewal amount. Then I asked to see if I could possibly move into a different apartment in the complex and ask for how much it would be. They returned the favor by telling me I needed to complete a transfer document that would $25 just to see if I qualify after living there for almost a year and paying my rent on time every month. And if I did decide to transfer to another apartment in the same complex they would charge me a $500 fee because they had to flip 2 apartments. Wouldnt they have to do so regardless of a new client coming in to mine after I move out and if some new client was moving into the other instead of existing customer? The so called business team does there best to never return calls. Ive called and left multiple message, but they disregard them all. The entire staff with maybe an exception to one or two is awful. They are rude and inconsiderate. To put it politely I am very fed up with this place and cant wait to move out.
This was the worst place I ever lived. Leasing office doesnt care for your needs, Emergency Maintenance takes around 1 week to get it fixed, and non emergency services takes around 4 weeks.!! U DONT EVEN GET UR DEPOSIT BACK!! Trust me, you dont even get 25% of the total deposit which you pay..Its better to choose a different apartment
DO NOT MOVE HERE! I was interested in these apartments because I have a friend who used to live here and I was drawn in by the amenities: pool, workout room, tennis courts, and sauna (which is non-functional, but no one would tell you that btw). The property looks nice, but that apartments themselves are GROSS! Cracked molding, bugs: bed bugs and cockroaches, cracked floor tiles, sloppy caulking, and the apartments smell terrible! The model apartments and pictures online make Muirwood look amazing, but it is far from being anything close to that. The staff is dull, dismissive, and rude. I toured with a leasing consultant……he had me wandering around the property for about 3 HOURS. He would not listen when I said I needed to hurry. I missed other appointments I had set up at other apartments that I’m sure I would’ve been more interested in because he was so slow! Unfortunately, I also encountered staff in the business office: ignorant simpletons who run around like chickens with their heads cut off and get mad if you have questions to ask them. They do not care about their residents or potential residents AT ALL.I’m sure that if there are any good reviews for these apartments, they are fake reviews that the management made up. I’m sure everyone that lives here regrets their decision, like my friend said he did. If you are thinking about moving here…DON’T.
Pretty good apartment community with lots of issues and feel good environment. I stayed here in 2018.They have a beautiful community with nature complementing it with its beauty. However,They have a slippery roads during the winters. They clean or salt the road a bit late compared to what you should expect. if you happen to drift race your car without you even noticing it .Then, congrats. You got a chance to do so. I was shivering when this happened, then thought of having got a chance to do so.Maintenance : They do try their best to help people out. It takes a week or less to respond but they do help. For emergency services : You need to call them example : When your heater is not working during winter.Security : Extremely polite human beings at the gates. Its great except when you have a guest and they happen to interrogate them like they are a criminal. One of my friend was racially target when he entered the apartment community during late hours. I did make a protest with lady at the gates citing the same.Rent and charges : Its too high for the place, however they cant be blamed. The michigan has really poor construction situation for new apartments that are being built. Almost all the apartment are super old in this state compared to new booming states and there are less number of good apartments for people to take. Beztak is doing its part . However, ignore it as long as you can afford.Refund : I got all my deposit back except a 50 $ for some utility taken off.
I really hope that there is a 0 rating for this community as well. I have been living in this community for more than 5 years. Maintenance has been the worst. THE WORST. I have never had this experience in any other apartments I have lived in. Ive used online maintenance request and the next thing you know it says completed when the issue is still an issue. I have a sink that has been leaking for 2 months now and Ive requested multiple times with maintenance and has not been fixed until today. The community and living space you get is not worth it with the service of maintenance you get from the rent you pay monthly. Nothing has improved from the day I rated this community 3 years ago. Feel like its getting worse.
They will trick people to sign the lease by showing wrong layout and once you sign the lease there is no going back.Details:I have checked online for a preferred layout and filled an application. After 2 days they sent me a lease agreement online within 24 hrs time limit to complete. When I asked to show me the apartment, they refused because people are still staying there. But they showed me the layout and model apartment and confirmed that my unit will be exactly same as the one they are showing.I signed the lease and after that I figured out Layout doesn’t match the room, there are less window and structure is different. But when I complained regarding that they tried to give me other apartment which is way costly. They gave me two options1. Live in the suffocating apartment which they tricked me to sign with wrong information.2. Take an apartment with bumped up price than what before. When I asked for 3rd option and not take the assigned apartment or any apartment in the complex, They refused to return the money they took during the lease sign.Everyone from top to bottom are liars or will hide the truth until they get your money.Customer are just some money machines and not entitled for any basic rights. They are running a CON where they will find a loop whole and try to manipulate and exploit you if you are not careful.
I hate the maintenance team, they are very slow, they fix something and a month later something else come up. We have been here for about 2 years, and guess how many maintenance request I have submitted? 13.I have requested the replacement of some bulbs since a couple of months, we do not have light in the hall, just one bulb working in the dinning area. The exterior, gardens, buildings look very nice, the apartments they show you look perfect but once you move into your new apartment you start finding small details that later become a problem.Avoid this community, take a look at the rest of the comments and then you decide.
We have been from about a year. The Apartment is ok and livable but I cannot say the same about staff. Leasing staff are extremely rude. Maintenance requests are answered too late if at all. I called about a repair with my bathroom about 2 weeks ago but still there is no response. We had a lot of repairs when we moved in. We could not believe any one would rent it with so many repairs. When who checked it before it is let out. When we asked in the office every one was saying it was not me. We were so frustrated. This apartment is expensive than all other apartments around the area. If the staff at least tries it would be worth paying.
Worst place I ever rented from. I stayed here 2 years starting in 2012. I have posted my negative experience here multiple times over the years warning people and will still continue to do so. They will NEVER show you the apartment that you actually get. The apartments and appliances including the furnace are all very old and not insulated properly resulting in high utilities. They make no attempts to replace old appliances. My furnace actually had duct tape on it. All maintenance have keys and come and go as they please, I had to call police while living there because someone was coming and going in and out of my apartment without my knowledge. Office staff are absolutely horrible and unprofessional. Ive said it many times before and its been previously proven that the good reviews you read have been posted by their office staff. They do this to push down all of the negative reviews to the bottom. So many other places to rent from where your money can be better spent. BEWARE!!!
We have been living here since 3 year. Community is maintained quite well, specially exterior. Apartments are spacious with good storage space. Clubhouse is pretty neatly maintained and good space to arrange gatherings. I would have given four stars but had to take a star off for poor management and compliance to service requests. One of such experiences is -They scheduled carpet replacement for my apartment today. We moved furniture from bedrooms, emptied closets and walls. In the morning when I called to check and lady in office said they will come any time during the day. At 1.30pm when I called again to check, they simply say that its not scheduled today. No sign of courtesy! These kind of miscommunications are very common here. Advice if you are planning to stay here - Confirm all appointments in writings. Dont deal over phone!I really hope management takes these reviews seriously and work on fixing core problems than having us fix the reviews!
DONT MOVE IN HERE. My boyfriend and I have lived here for about 8 months and it’s been horrible. It’s very expensive and the apartments are outdated and appliances are rusted. They claim to have 24 hour maintenance and that’s not the case at all. We called 5 months ago about our showers leaking and they never called back or came to check them out. We actually had an emergency, our garbage disposal started shooting water out of it and water was over flowing onto our floors and it took them multiple hours to respond. Also, the pool hours are inaccurate, they claim to open the pool at 9 I believe but over the summer they wouldn’t open it until roughly 3 and the female’s bathroom is always locked and the code was not provided a code. When I asked the front desk for the code they gave me the wrong code twice and gave me an attitude. Last, they don’t plow the roads during the winter. Our road was a sheet of ice and snow .Bugs are also a huge issue! Therefore, there are many apartment complexes around here and I highly recommend going somewhere else because the customer service is horrible.
Please stay away fromThese apartments, they can make your living miserable, they don’t bother about your credit scores and blindly go aheagd and put invisible charges. I have an entire story to share. The staff is unprofessional, I moved out of the apartments couple of months ago before the lease ends on the basis of submitting my new job offer letter (which they had asked me to do ) so that they dont charge for my rent for the 2 months left over. I send all the letters and proofs, everything goes fine and I submit one month vacating notice. They accept it and I vacated the apartment at the end of the month. After moving out of the state they send some letters telling you have a lease buyout and should pay rest of your rent, I immediately gave a call to them asking about it, they go like the company is not in our list of corporate preferred when I am working for really big corporate company. They ask me to pay the rent as lease buy out which makes no sense completely because I was there for a month after submitting the offer letter and not a single call telling It not possible to move before the lease ends. They are just tying to pull cash for whatever reason, not even trying to listen to you...... what were they doing for month without informing ??? Not even by phone or e-mail??? I called couple of time and still couldnt get any help !! I wasnt even able to reach out the manager when I asked for him to talk about the issue.....
We moved here in November of 2016 from out -of-state. We did a lot if research in our apartment hunt and unfortunately in retrospect we chose Muirwood. If we could pack and leave tomorrow we would- this place is a deceivingly pleasant waste of money. Our list if complaints could go forever but here it is as short and basic as possible- upgraded apartment is just a term they use for hey we did a cheap job of restoring but dont expect clean carpet, tiles, bathrooms, floors, or showers, patio doors that work, trustworthy appliances, or a neighbor that has fed the geese so much there is feces everywhere you walk outside your door. Pretty much everything is junk. If you do decide Muirwood, move in, and make a request DONT expect anything to be done about it regardless of their promises. This place is like a used car dealership. Everything looks great up front until the deal is done and your legally bound to pay them money. We move a lot for my husbands job and this is the worst rental decision we have made yet. It is disgusting (it took me 5 months to get the stench out of my apartment.. one can only assume its the carpet?).Best advice I can give is dont be fooled by the models and customer service up front. When we came here the staff in The leasing office were great and that is as far as customer service went. The ONLY reason we didnt turn around and leave on move in day was because the moving service was here and we would not have had an opportunity to go somewhere else on such short notice. For just one specific example- it has been 6 months since we moved in and requested a few fixes to our upgraded apartment. Our shower has had mold growing in it since day 1 regardless of my best attempts to clean it. We were told it would be redone and now, months later, I took the day off work to be here with workers while bathroom was redone. NO ONE showed up. I couldnt get a hold of the office until 3pm. They claimed they werent sure why they didnt come then said there was an emergency. Okay, that is fine BUT did Muirwood not think it would be common courtesy to call and let us know before an entire day was wasted? Guess not. OR maybe they would have called company when no one showed up in the morning asking for apartment keys? Hmm..This is just one of many examples of Muirwoods blatant disregard for their renters. This place will charge you an arm and leg for their apartments and take it with a greedy hand. If you move here dont expect much in return.
I lived close to a year at Muirwood and loved the experience. I am very happy with the way they treated me even after moving out of the apartment and helping me with timely documentation to assist my relocation process. All service requests were promptly completed and was impressed with the technician fixing a minor A/C issue on the penultimate day of my move out. I would have loved to stay back if only I was not moving out of state.I felt safe with the controlled access to the community. I felt glad when they organized community events. I was happy to see the roads being maintained well during winter and heavy snow.Overall, it was a nice experience.
Im going with 1 star just because the apartments are really nice. i read so many bad reviews but thought what can go wrong with my apartment. i was wrong. things started to break down. Six months ago i called up maintenance even after multiple escalations and several requests, i didnt get any response till date. After that things got only worse with each equipment . Kitchen lights went off , no water in shower. i feel like living in a cave. even before giving notice . i told them clearly that maintenance is the only reason im moving out and i would really appreciate if they can reimburse or waive off my 2 months rent. the response i got was only thank you. i mean seriously?. its a shame that the management dont take residents seriously. i would have definitely loved to continue if maintenance was taken care in time or atleast taken care . come to this place if you want to shed your hard earned money and still live a tribal life like a wild-ling. no no to anyone . please look out for another decent apartments. they are plenty out there. good luck
The worst apartments i have encountered.Especially the leasing and business office staff. They are just present there to say sorry for not keeping up to their promises.Initially they promised an apartment in a weeks time but later called and informed its been taken away and i have to wait another 3 weeks to get another. As I didnt get any other so soon, i have to stick to them. The lock doesnt work consistently.Maintainence guys do a temporary fix and go and again it repeats. There is a hole behind the washer which welcomes rats inside. The shower doesnt work. There dont do proper inspection before giving an apartment. Most important is with the leasing terms.Business office staff says I will not be charged as I have to break the lease and move to another state. They say one month notice is enough for preferred employers.I went thrice to get it confirmed but again they say the same. Later, I will be sent an email to pay around 2k after losing even my deposit.ALL RESIDENTS PLEASE GET IN MAIL FOR ANY PROMISES THEY MAKE AS LATER THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT AWARE.
Community looks good but it is not a decent place to live because some residents smoke MARIJUANA in their apartments here and that odor not only stay in their apartments but also spreads throughout the building and your apartments as well. If you and your family are not comfortable with that odor 24/7/365 days, then you are better off moving somewhere else.I did raise complaints with management, but they did not take any action on that complaint. Forget about taking action, after raising this complaint, they did not even send an email to the community/my building resients warning to stop smoking marijuana around community/building.I like landscapes, walking trails, 24/7 security at the entrance of the gate etc. but, if living here is not comfortable, no pros outweigh the feeling of uncomfortable with marijuana odor. So, i cannot give more than a star rating.
I moved-in just recently– it hasn’t been a good experience. I thought I did my due-diligence before choosing this apartment, and I read all these comments in addition to visiting and seeing the “display apartment,” and now, here I am writing my own review for the next person looking for housing. My experience thus far:1.It’s difficult reaching anyone via phone – even when you call the direct office line, you are likely to get your call diverted to the call center where you don’t know where the person is that you’re calling, and they know nothing.2.The office is disorganized, has poor communication, and is not the friendliest. When they pick up the phone, it sounds as if you’re a waste of their time. It’s never helpful.3.When trying to settle on an apartment, we asked for an updated apartment that was fully renovated. They said one was available and to put a deposit down with an application filled out online. We did just this. We were then contacted to email the information we submitted with the online application and then were requested additional information. We over shared information, which felt very intrusive.4.Our welcome letter was sent and a move-in date established. Our old apartment was packed and loaded into a U-Haul. Upon arrival at Muirwood, they looked surprised we were there and said the apartment was not ready. We had to postpone all our other plans and make accommodations for their negligence. When the apartment did become “ready,” we asked for a walk-through before signing the lease and collecting keys since we got a feeling nothing was done to prepare the apartment after the last tenants.5.This was a BAD idea! Walking around the kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc., we could immediately tell that these were OLD apartments. The plumbing is old, the fixtures are old, the washer/dryer have crank dials on them and are more than 10 years old. All the bathroom cabinets and kitchen cabinets are unfortunately disgusting and old. There are stains on the kitchen floor, and there are black smudges and marks all over the walls since nothing was painted when the last person moved-out. Nothing was maintained. The toilet constantly flushes, and the bath tub and shower handles are outdated and difficult to set hot/cold water with multiple knobs to adjust temperature. The A/C is not working, and the thermostat is old.6.It’s been disappointing, but we’re looking to make the most of it. They said renovations will take place after our move-in date, so we have to unload all our kitchen and bathroom and be living here during everything. They didn’t even accommodate for their mistakes and the fact that nothing was ever done to get this apartment ready. In its current state, it is not renovated, and that is what we are paying for… what’s funny is that each individual apartment is uniquely priced “depending on demand and how long it’s been available.” Well, when we asked for some compensation for the hassle with the apartment not ready, having to change plans, and then to not have what we expected, they said no apartment could have their price changed. BS!7.In summary – you can find better. These apartments are OLD – everything is just layered in paint to cover it up. Have a tour, ask your questions, see the apartment before you move-in. We were assured things would get fixed and updated after move-in, and so we went ahead with it… but I feel it’s too expensive for what you get. The age of any apartment is important. This was built in the late 70s-early 80’s.8.Good luck!
It seemed like a great place at first, but within a month were dying to move out. Our apartment constantly smells like smoke (I assume our neighbors smoke) and they basically told me Im SOL. Weve also been licing here for barely over a month, and out apartment is a revolving door of maintenance people. The only occasionally tell you theyll be entering the apartment, or they notify you that theyll be entering the apartment sometime in the next few weeks weeks and in the meantime you should keep your pets locked up, no dishes on the stove or inside the oven, no furniture by the windows, etc. I called the office after the last notice, and they literally said that I needed to move all my furniture away from the windows. Across the entire apartment. This seemed like a completely reasonable request for them. The randomly came in and patched some drywall (which I appreciate that they want to maintain the apartment) but I feel this should have been handled before I moved in. The cracks were there back then while it was vacant. Maintenance left drywall dust everywhere, they didnt even bother cleaning up after themselves.Honestly, save yourself the money. It looks nice initially, but its way too expensive for the inconvenience and how rude the office people are when you call with a concern.
Too stressed staying here. Do not fall in this trap. Apartment appliances are too old and worn out. One of the worst maintenance I ever experienced, takes almost a month to get some response. They do charge you for work order requests (window blinds, light fixtures..etc). Many accidents within the community as they dont clean snow during winter. (If you want any photos I can share them. Poor appliances, winter accidents, poor house construction). If you want to test your patience this apartment is for you.
My family enjoyed our stay in Muirwood community. I would like to thank Brandy and Dawn who where instrumental in providing the service on time. They where very helpful, pleasant and welcoming. I would surely recommend Muirwood community to my friends and relative. The service is really very good when compare to other apartments near by.
I moved in last week and have had a great experience. The leasing team was very professional and made my relocation very easy. We were able to complete everything without actually coming in since we were moving from Pie Town, New Mexico and when we arrived the apartment looked better than the pictures they sent me. So far I am very happy.
Iam staying in this from 2014 .From my experience its worst apartments in farmington. They simply cheat the people if u dont check the rental agreement . I given consent for 6 months and 12 months leases respectively for my last 2 leases .But in original they included 7 and 13 months .I found out after couple of months .Got answer that i should check and its not their mistake. They will lie without blink in the eyes.Worst to the core .pathetic in servicing the maintenance requests. no request completed at first time.because of their delay in servicing the Centralized AC i paid $750 as electricity bill for 3 months .Worst management team .will always say they cannot do any thing stay away from these apartments . giving 1 star since its not allowing to give 0 stars.I just saw the owners response. Please go thru the damage photos shared by your team.Do these damages requires $600 ..?Simply put they just looting the money for the apartment maintence.
Very poor service , created the service request on 14-June-2020 that my dishwasher is not working and till today 8-July-2020 no one has checked to see the problem , when I called the service department today they said they will do ASAP and failed to provide a ETA.and this is what is written on their maintenance page24-HOUR MAINTENANCE RESPONSE GUARANTEEThe 24-Hour Maintenance Response Guarantee only applies to routine interior repair items. If a service associate does not respond within 24-hours of a request, the resident will receive a rent credit each day or portion of a day that exceeds the guarantee period. (*Restrictions apply)
Today we are moving in to this apartments and I am very disappointed by there maintance it was very terrible experience bugs fell dead around all the place and dust and trash was not vaccumed. Even after we visited leasing office and enquired about the readiness of the apartment before one week and still this is the situation. If there is an option I would have uploaded the images
Extremely hopeless place.Leasing office is just terrible . Rent amount paid is just not proportional to the service and community structure.Noisy neighbors , poor maintenance and on the top of it too pricey to the kind of community it is!! Much better places in and around farmington than this ....
I lived here for three years, I should have moved after the 1st year. they never return your deposit, I know so many people who this also happened to. I moved out with a clean apartment. I even had a company professionally come clean my apartment the day of move out , it looked New. everything was in order. I traveled most of the time and year. I was home maybe 6 days out of the month. there was no need for me not to be refunded my money. My deposit is $1400The rent is extremely raised higher each year. My rent went up a $105 last year. there are so many nice apartments in the area that are very nice. I just recently moved, I can not support this establishment. they are all about the money.dont move here, please do your research!!!!!
I recently moved into Muirwood. So far I experienced excellent service while renting the apartment and paying rent. My conscience is not permitting me to type even a single good word about this community. I will come up with a detailed explanation about my experience shortly after experiencing this community for two more weeks or so.
There was no zero star review, otherwise I would give a zero rating. If you have plans to move into Muirwood, please think again. The only advantage of being here is accessibility. We have been having issues from day 1, the apartment was not given to us in a good condition, the carpet was not cleaned, blinds were rusted and lots of dust inside the apartment, few lights were not working, the patio door was not opening and full of dust and bugs. We weren’t even able to list all the issues in the move in condition checklist. When we contacted the office, they said all these will be fixed in the regular maintenance visit and we had to live with those for a while. We asked them to give us another unit on in a few days we moved to the apartment, and they were not ready to do that either. Now our apartment is flooded due the leakage from the water heater, we had to live with no hot water for three days. The issues list can go further but these should suffice.
I received my keys Saturday, today is Tuesday and I want to move! Touring a model apartment is deceptive, the actual apartment is totally different. I asked could I see the apartment prior to committing to an apartment on the application and prior to me giving them my money, but I was told I could not because it was not ready. I shelled out a few thousand to them before seeing the actual apartment. Walked in and the smell was awful. The community is highly populated with residents from India, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but they cook with spices that leaves a smell in the apartment that can only be removed by a thorough cleaning of the carpet and painting the walls. The linoleum flooring in the hallway, kitchen and laundry rooms looks like they allowed kids to put it down for their shop class. It is peeling, cracked and uneven. The carpet has spots that are worn to the padding. The shower is so small I cannot bend over without hitting my head on the knobs and the shower door was filthy and toilets are the absolute worse. I know I am a clean freak but they did not clean the apartment thoroughly before leasing it to me. I believe that the reason they do not show the actual apartment before you add it to your application is because many people would not accept the apartment and once you sign that lease you are locked in. This is fraud and deception and I will prove it.Also, during the walk through on Saturday with the leasing person I pointed out the issues she assured me it would be rectified on Monday and today is Tuesday no word no work done. This is fraud, deception, and a classic bait and switch and I will prove it.
Leasing team didnt responded any of my email even after a month even after move-in. Its like one way email. They didnt let me walk-in the apartment(not even model) I signed for which I was said once they worked on it they will let me walk in, but not until I get the keys. They didnt even cared about my checkin list which currently I am working with service maintenance team to address.
I would give a lower rating if I could, and you could not pay me to live here again. If you move in here you will regret it immediately. I wish I researched more and avoided this place, but time was not on my side. You have been warned. This place traps you into the leases. You will have to put a deposit down, but they will not provide you any details regarding the lease until you can no longer get the deposit back. And you will not get to see the unit you are renting beforehand. So you can either forfeit a ton of money or continue with the lease. Once you finally get to read the lease, if you have any questions, good luck getting any answers. The office staff is friendly, but not knowledgeable and will likely not be able to help. It seems only 1 person knows enough to, sort of, answer your questions. The condition you will receive the apartment in is an absolute joke and the rent is way too high for what they provide you with. I had typed up 3 pages in Word with a list of all the damages I found.I did not have hot water in my shower for about the first 1-1.5 weeks after moving in. The sliding door did not lock. the entire bottom half of my screen was broken. There were dog bites on my blinds (yes it is just cosmetic, but is trashy). Just seems like they should have actually inspected the place before renting to a new tenant, but what do I know. They should be embarrassed, but nobody cares. The maintenance is terrible and will just close out simple work orders without completing the work. I think I put in 3 work orders for the same issue. They pretty much discourage you from having a bike, unless you store it in your apartment, because it has to be stored on a bike rack, which by me, they only have 1 rack for about 20-25 buildings that is designed to holds 2 bikes (possibly 4 if arranged correctly). And you will have to walk 5 minutes just to get there. Then since there are like 25 bikes just laying on the ground near it, good luck actually using it.There are very odd rules that just seem ridiculous. I have provided just a few below, but there are a lot more besides these.*They generously allow you to have 2 flower pots...but only 2.*You cannot have any wind catchers or anything that hangs*You are not allowed to have a welcome mat outside your door.If you do not obey, they will come take them from you.The only good thing about this place is that it is located in Farmington Hills, which I feel is a very nice area, despite this community being located here.
I DO NOT EVEN WRITE REVIEWS but After one month of moving into Muirwood, I can honestly say that I have never in my life regretted anything more. The walls are so thin, I could hear my neighbors breathing. It doesn’t help that they allow 6 people to live in a two bedroom!! I moved into what was supposed to be a pet free apartment but I kept smelling a faint urine smell, and after talking to a couple people in the building, I found out that the pet free buildings are not so pet free! The worst part about this whole thing is that they have roaches!! I have never in my life had a big problem until now!! I have seen pest control out here EVERYDAY since I’ve moved here. I will admit, they are quick in response to the pest problem. HOWEVER, it has only been two weeks and THEY ARE BACK!!!!!! If all you care about are nice grounds and the area, move here. If you dont care to hear your neighbors every breath, live next to a family of 6 in a two bedroom, and constantly have pest issues, stay far away!!Please do NOT be fooled by the beautiful exterior of these apartments. They are really actually trash! I should have never moved from Green Hill!!
We raised a request for carpet cleaning and paid $50 as required. However the person did not clean the entire carpet and said that they only clean the walkable area. The person was rude and it looked like that he was doing an obligation by cleaning it. We told him that we are not getting free service but paid for cleaning however he did not listen at all and said that we need to talk to Maintenance office as they are not required to clean the entire carpet but the walkable area. Just wondering if they have they have to do the jobs as they like then what is the point of charging the customer. Not happy with such a rude attitude. Better get the service from outside to get the satisfaction. To your question that “he would not be able to move the furniture” we offered him that we gonna do that but he was so rigid like he is doing an obligation on us even after paying the requisite fee. Not happy to speak to you guys any further in person as you have not been helpful. So putting this on public portal so that others can take informed decisions.
We called the property one day before to make an appointment, they said we could come anytime before 6.There was no appointment set! We were there at 5:20 mind you at this time we already looked at the model apartments and we were ready to sign the lease! We wanted to take a look at the exact unit we were about to sign the lease for!!Kane was very unprofessional and was soooooooo rude! We drove 5:30 hours from Indiana to see the apartment and sign the lease! He said we were late to the appointment (first of all we never had an appointment) he couldn’t take us to the apartments that day with an attitude that was not pleasing at all!!!!!!! We still asked him if we could come on Sunday (next day)he said he was the only one who was working and he couldn’t take us to apartments and we were supposed to look at the apartments from the outside and decide to sign the lease!!! Really?!! If this is how you treat people who want to sign the lease,I wonder how you treat the one’s who already live in the apartments!! You can’t take your anger out on someone who doesn’t even know you ! Me and my friend both were ready to sign the lease for two apartments !! All because of that guy’s behavior we didn’t! Thanks for the true colors😬TLDR: we called before going to the property to see the units available to us. They said we could. So, we drove 5:30 hrs to get there and they said they will not be able to show us the apartments. On top of it ,the leasing person was very very very very rude. Good luck to those who are still ready to sign a lease here!
Worst service. No light switch functioning in both the bed rooms. Complained couple of days ago. No service provided. Patio screen fell down on my sons head. The same was also complained. Visited to the service or business office more than twice. Office staffs are yelling. But no action taken. Worst community I have ever stayed in my 5 years stay. Every 15 days there is at least one problem in the newly removed house
Lived in 5 Apartment Communities. Never left a negative review for any of apartment complexes. This has by far been the worst. I am glad that I am out of here. Never ever contemplate living in this apartment. Issues which I havea) The staff are generally rude and dont care about the issues going on with your apartment. They are so rude that they literally state that They dont care even if your apartment is on fire if you ask them to address an emergency.b) The same can be said of maintenance crew. They literally abuse the women when they are alone in the apartment. When complained to the business office absolutely nothing happened and they just brushed it away.c) Coming to service, we literally had to stay with a bucket in our living room because of the water leak from above. This went on for 2 months where I had to call them, talk to them on numerous occasions to get it resolved.d) Forget your security deposit when you are moving out. They would find ways to charge you the security deposit. I have never lost my security deposit in any of my previous apartment communities. They would take around 2 months to come up with a figure and give you a day to pay the amount. And ofcourse they will not discussions on the amount you owe.Do yourself a favor. Do not even think about staying in this apartment. There are enough good apartments around this area which are far better than this luxury apartment.
I edit my previous review of 5 to 1, after my move-in experience. Im informed on my move-in date that keys are ready for move-in by 10 AM. I packed all my stuff in packers and movers. Few of my friends helped me on moving my stuff. Thanks to them. But after reaching leasing office by 11:30 AM, they said that keys are not available and service department is still working on the apartment and would give me a callback when available. This completely messed up my schedule and where Im suppossed to wait after vacating my old apartment. Thank God I have a friend nearby and waited there. Waited till closing time foir callback and decided to walk-in and check. Just before closing they have given me the keys. My entire schedule is messed. ATT service transfer appointment I missed. Missing my entire day WFH because of this. No slots till Tuesday. After speaking to few of my neighbors got silimar complaint for his move-in experience from Ohio and waited 4 hours for move-in. And apartment service is also very bad, not on time.Previous Review:I signed lease for one partment, but later thats not availble and got some other few options from them. Finally able to get a confirmed date and apartment to move in by Aug 15th. So far good.Wahab, the leasing consultant is really helpful. Thanks for him.
We lived in Muirwood Apartments (2bed, 2 bath) for 3 years and we loved it. Although we had mostly a positive experience during our time there, it has its cons too. I will break down the good, bad, and ugly for you.Good:*** Muirwood apartments are located in the center of a lot of things. Its close to downtown farmington, major highways, mall, grocery stores (indian & american) and restaurants (Most of them within a 5min drive).*** rooms are spacious (eat in kitchen) lot of closets, newly renovated. Note that upstairs 2beds are way more spacious than downstairs ones.*** large gated community with plenty of space for kids to play, ride bikes etc. Safe too.*** there is a park for kids, sauna, swimming pool (both indoor & outdoor), and a small gym.Bad:*** rules: i understand that in order for any community to maintain its property, rules have to be set in place but some are just plain annoying and unfeasable.1. No bike parking outside ( there are no bike racks and its a pain to put it inside your apartment and back out again especially if you live upstairs).*** Maintanence: depending on who you get to fix your repairs, you could have good or bad experiences. In the years we have stayed here, it has been good but we had one guy ( pat ) who refused to fix anything whenever he came and instead gave us lectures on how to do things. It was very frustrating when he would come. I dont know why they dont fire him. Many people had a similar experience with him too. However they are prompt.*** Rent: rent is higher than other communities close by because its gated.*** Walls: walls are thin so you can hear people talking outside during their walks but you wont hear your neighbors unless they are loud.Ugly:*** snow cleaning: dont expect snow to be removed immediately and do a clean job either. Sometimes trucks do come the night before if its heavy snow (which is rare) but they dont clean it well.Snow plows come usually at 10am or so for full cleaning and by then most people are gone.*** management: as other reviewers have mentioned, management at muirwood is rude at times and doesnt even acknowledge the problems at times. However, there is one african american lady that joined recently who has been very helpful so we were dealing with her.Stay away from jacyln if you can. She is very rude.Overall our time at muirwood was pleasant with some downs here and there ( crazy maintenance guy and some people in management )but we found a way around it to avoid the headaches. People living in the community are very friendly and lot of kids to play with.I would definitely recommend them to everyone.
Three words ....Dont move here! Low quality service, constant maintenance issues with the apartment due the unit fixtures being old and of low quality. One of the worst places I have ever lived in. Muirwood brags about luxury but there is nothing luxurious about the apartment living standards they offer. Was so fed up with this place after a year and half of living here, moved and they slammed with over $600 in fake charges that included a double coat of paint for regular wear and tear, reglazing an old chipped bathtub, and claimed they had to change the carpet. I had constant maintenance requests and some of them were never resolved. Shower head popped out twice, dishwasher didnt work well and felt out of the hinges and was never fixed, washer barely worked and ended up ruining most of my clothes due to lack of reliable wash. The unit had large spaces and gaps around the door which allowed all the smells from other residents cooking to sip in to the apartment. Leasing office staff were unresponsive to request and said they had lost a manager and all other kind of excuses...The only thing this place has going for them is the great Farmington hills school district othewise not worth the premium they are charging for these apartments. In desperate need of new management and enhancements. Move here at your own risk!!!
Where to start, the apartments are beautiful, a little high priced but beautiful none the less, minus the lack of storage you get. The staff is very nice and caring, up until you move in then they start with their attitudes and lack of caring. The business manager is garbage and doesnt answer her phone nor return phone calls EVER! I have called her and left numerous messages and never received a call back. The fact that it is a gated community doesnt nothing, its just an excuse for them to charge you more money, seeing as it is a joke, if you live off of the drake entrance expect people to ride your ass and sneak through the gate constantly. Oh, and dont bother calling the office with plates numbers because they will not do a damn thing, Ive tried multiple times seeing as those were the instructions I was giving by the office, themselves.
This comment only applies to the application process. My family and I wanted to live here - this was #1 on our list. Our kiddo will be going to high school in Farmington and we needed to move in-district. We live in another district and commute her to school. Our current lease just expired and we needed to get out. I have been in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy for over a year - and it has been very successful. I have very little debt and only have a year-and-a-half left PLUS a letter of recommendation from my attorneys. My husband is not in the 13 with me. He was also the main applicant, I was co-applicant. After our application submission and $675 deposit and fees, we were given a unit and move-in date. A day later, I was called and told my application was denied by RentGrow so that eliminates us altogether. I called and left messages not only with the manager but their corporate office. NOT ONE CALL OR EMAIL BACK! We have EXCELLENT rental history and met all the requirements. They turned my application down because of a voluntary surrender of my vehicle 4 years ago, in another state, and which I owe no money on. Secondary, I saw it noted that we dont have enough income. $85,000 income a year seemed enough, and with no debt, what do I know! WAIT I do know - blessing in disguise - we will hold on to our money and buy ourselves a house! What a piece of work Muirwood is. Muir-wouldnt.
The Maintenance service is very poor. They water damaged my personal items while they are fixing the bath room. There is no explanation on this damage and just told me to claim insurance. So rude to say this and I have never met this worst staff like this. In the spring and summer this is not the humans habitat but bugs habitat. aunts, worms, and spiders everywhere. This is not the place to live relax but battle with bugs everyday.
TAKE VIDEOS AND PHOTOS OF YOUR UNIT ON MOVE IN DAY AND MOVE OUT DAY. The unit I moved in to was in poor shape and no repairs were done when I specifically asked to have them complete before I moved in. Maintenance ignored my 7 requests for repairs. To top it off, when I moved out Muirwood tried to extort me $1000 for the preexisting damages. The charges were removed after I provided video/photo proof and said this will be taken to court if not fixed. This is the first EVER Google review Ive made. I feel obligated to warn others of this place.
I WISH they would salt the complex ROADS in the morning. IT IS a sheet of ice!The apartment and grounds are beautiful but do NOT be fooled. The customer service from the bottom up STINKS. Please do not waste your time with this apartment complex. Even though we used a corporate relocation service I had to waste numerous hours in the leasing, business, and maintenance office trying to explain to the rude & incompetent staff the process. This is a high volume/low customer service complex. DO NOT RENT!
Worst service. I requested to fix waste disposal in the kitchen. They gave me a quick reply saying I would get an assistance ASAP. However I’ve got no service for over 1 week and during 1 week the situation got worse. The disposal is stuck and the water doesn’t flow. Then, I went to the office and requested again. They told me they would come to fix the disposal “tomorrow”. But tomorrow for them didn’t mean tomorrow. Very disappointed. Never recommend this apartment.
This is first time i am posting a comment in outside forum’s, Meuirwood the most worst community i have ever seen, we had many maintenance complaints, we raised a mutipl request and called multiple times, no one responded and if we go to the leasing Office the manger shout on us back, beware of this community, everthing is cheat cheat cheat!!!!And if you really want to come to this community, make sure you have to know plumbing, electric work etc to repair yorself your home.
Never stay in this apartment. The new manager at the office is really really bad,i requested for change in apartment, I paid $25 she came for initial inspection for approving the change, they didnt told me what is the expectation for checking. She just and told me all kind of nonsense and disapprove my change request. Now i need pay them for another inspection. MONEY IS ONLY FOCUS,NO QUALITY,NO HONEST. Dont come to this apartment or Dont stay in this apartment
This is a 50 year old construction and not worth lot of $$$$. Management will go crazy on you with rent increase after couple of years. They believe in getting rid of old residents to get new residents with more revenue. maintenance is slow in responding. they will call you saying someone is on their way and they wont show up for 3 days to fix the thing. Office staff keeps changing and communication is broken down. Have to call the office 4-5 times before getting an appropriate answer from them.Lot of things are promised during moving in and very few are fulfilled.
I lived at Muirwood for a year. Moved here to be closer to my work and the location was great. Very close to downtown and to Novi and Twelve Oaks mall. Have no complaints from office staff. Didnt have any problems with apartment building or unit including no bug problems; everything worked great. I looked at Many other apartments before choosing Muirwood, and I have been very happy. My unit was clean when I moved in, and staff was very helpful. I was very happy with the Muirwood complex. Amenities were nice. I would recommend Muirwood to rent at.
They charged me for missing building key when I move out, but I was only given one building key for a 2b1b at the start of the lease. They also charged me for torn vinyl in laundry room. The only thing I have touched and used in the laundry room for 2 years is the washer/dryer combo. I have kept the room in exactly the same condition as it was when I moved in.I suspect they will continue charging the next tenant renting the apt for the same excuses.
I have been living here for about 3 years now. I have not had any complaints so far. The rent is pricey but you get what you pay for and I feel safe. I recently had a situation with the staff in the Business office. I turned in my rent on 5.5.17 late Friday night went I got home from work. Normally I always check the Resident mobile site and make sure everything posted on time. To my surprise my payment had not posted and I had a late fee. I called the office and left a message asking for someone to call regarding this matter. I talked to Tony which was the rudest person in history. Her was very short with me and talked over me the whole time. I explained to him when I dropped my rent off and asked why did it not post? He proceeded to tell me that I did not drop my rent off on Friday I dropped it off on Monday!!!! He stated the rent box was checked on Saturday and sunday and all rent was ran. This is some BS because I worked for this company before and I know some managers will leave rent for the next day if they feeling lazy. I was told nothing he could do and told he didnt care if I called corporate on him and gave me his last name?? I emailed the account manager Sara King that same day with hope she could clear this up for me and get my rent posted and my surprise she said the same thing she knows I put my rent in the box on Monday? So they both called me a liar basically I asked them both to review the cameras and check what day I came by I have no reason to lie plus my rent checks were dated for 4.19.17 & 5.5.17 and why would I hold on to my checks to pay late just because? Sara advised me that I need to remit the remainder $42 within the next 48hrs or my payments will be returned to me. What joke!!! I have never asked them for a credit for late fees and please believe me I have been late on rent but Im honest and I pay what I owe but dont lie to get more money out of me. This hurt me to my core because I know I was telling them the truth and they know Im not lying especially the person that did not run the rent on Saturday. I gave this community a one star because I do like the apartments but the remainder stars are taken away because how they treated me unfair. I really hope they implement a new policy so no one else has to be taken for their hard earn money like I did. Very Angry Resident. I hope somebody sees this that cares probably not though.
I am living in muirwood since 2 and half years. They have recently renovated my apartment and i was so exited. I heard many negative comments from the people who were not muirwood residents on maintenance services, but with my experience I can tell that they fulfill the service on the same day you place the request. I am very much happy with the way staff treats the residents and with the way the maintenance services are been fulfilled. Based on my search with other apartments in this area , Muirwood is really the best.
I stepped out to pickup a package from Fedex and did not realize I left my apt keys to get me back in. Stopped by business office for assistance as it’s very close from my apt :D. Very friendly staff ( Brandy and Stephanie) and got immediate help from Brandy Coburn. She was nice and very friendly, verified my details and gave me a spare key. Thanks a lot guys!
The worst ever, it seems that all they really care about is the rent money. They have the worst Maintenance Ever. I live in a handicapped unit, they dont salt, or shovel the unit, the parking lot is a sheet of ice. In order to get my son whos in a wheelchair to the school bus safely I had to go out at 4:30 am break and shovel the ice. In the process of doing this I fell and busted my wrist open....I have a uneven crack in the cement of my patio that Ive complained about going on 2 years not fixed in the summer of 17 my granddaughter broke her toe I have not been able to enjoy my living arrangements in the summer, the window in the front bedroom leaks and still nothing even after informing the staff of the possibilities of mold with my children having CHRONIC LUNG DISEASE. THEY DO NOT CARE and when talking to someone in the office all you hear from them is WE UNDERSTAND when in reality you dont
Poor maintenance, Gave a worn out equipment and never came for replacing or repair. Charged us for already been damaged equipment as it was our poor maintenance. I would have given less than a zero if available. After a 15days of follow up with lease office staff we heard a reply “you don’t need a stove to prepare food, there are few other options “ as they don’t care at all.
Applied for an apartment, changed my mind (knowing that I would lose the application fee), they never responded to my calls, emails and messages asking about the security deposit refund and somehow I ended up in collections? Glad I decided against living here; if this sh*t show is the caliber of their administrative skills lord knows what kind of paperwork drama I could have been in for. Usually in a bad review I could put the caveat ...but such and such employee was nice; not this time. Bad experience throughout.
Our clothes dryer is not working when i gave a call to help desk to put in maintenance request she told sh e will put in request. After a week i went to office to check about my Maintenance request when they are going to fix the person at the front desk was there was no request placed. Its been 15days since it is not working and roads are not cleaned properly after snow. Maintenance is very poor.
I am living since an year. My lease is up next month and I wanted to move to a different apartment within the community. But they charging me $500 transfer fee even though we didnt do any damage to the property. They dont respect their tenants. They raise 50-100$ per year on your rent. There are many apartments in this area that are good with a decent price. They dont even deserve single star. Finally I decided to move out.
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Renter beware!! Unprofessional and extremely rude staff. I lived here for approximately 5 months and every month new charges for something appeared with minimal notice and if you call to speak with someone it almost IMPOSSIBLE to speak with someone because communication is ONLY THROUGH EMAIL. My water bill varied every month despite me being the only person in the apartment and at times not residing in the apartment for months my water bill would still be higher. This apartment complex is well kept on the outside but the inside should make you think twice! The rent is too high to experience poor service and rude staff that are paid by your rent!
Update: still a terrible place, can’t wait to moveA broken window (from mowers) took a month to replace, they left shards of glass all over our apartment when they finally replaced it.We have a hole in our ceiling from water damage that’s been there for a month. Still waiting on “the contractors”Our patio door leaks water every time it rains for about two months. Still waiting for a plan and the maintainence guys who have never come.By far the worst renting experience Ive ever had. I wish I could put 0 stars.I moved in three long months ago. In this time our washer has flooded our apartment, our apartment has flooded from a floor drain and our furnace has broken. With all of these experiences Muirwood management has made next to no effort to accommodate us other than to suggest we go to a homeless shelter. It took almost 72 hours to move us out of a completely flooded apartment that smelled like wet dog, got all our things wet and made all of our things smell like wet dog. Our furnace went out last Thursday. Its currently Sunday afternoon, our apartment is 51 degrees and no one has given us any solution other than to call the police and go to a homeless shelter. You cant make this up. The office people have been so kind but have no control but to pass us to upper management. Upper management hasnt done anything to help us besides be off on Friday and the entire weekend and sit in their warm houses and not answer their phone or email. Must be nice to not be on call or at work like the rest of the complex.By the way, they arent planning on replacing the carpet in our old apartment according to our inside source. Super ethical Muirwood.I have left multiple voicemails and we have sent numerous emails and have yet to be called back or emailed back.Oh and lets talk security. They pride themselves on security but the back gate has been left open for weeks. Our two building doors are broken or unlocked 100% of the time. Despite multiple calls nothing has been fixed. Its like a robbers dream up in here.I regret my decision immensely. We will be moving out the second we can afford to break our lease. I cant wait to see what goes wrong next.
The worst maintenance office team. If you submit maintenance request they will not even consider your current maintenance problem, if you call and check with them they do not care of your problem. they recklessly tell what they want to tell. Example: if you say that we have small kids and having issue with A/C , the do not care of it. They will send after 1 month for the fix. Main thing is maintenance office team response ( while in phone ) is very very rash. One of my friend has issue with Water tap at Kitchen Sink, when my friend reached the maintenance team they(maintenance office team) said for time being clean your bowls in bathroom tub and wash your hands in the bathroom . I think after 3 weeks they cam me fix it.
I would have given negative star if there was any..the wrost apartment v ever lived in. They charge so high and the apartments is not worth at all..the apartments are in bad shape it’s like old den u live in ..all the things inside is broken and they charge once u move out. We lived there for 6 months and they charged us for carpet change .the carpet was already coming out from corner and they told us that v have to pay for carpet change.wrost place to live. And many other things they charged.please don’t fall this trap. Stay away from this crappy apartment
Worst ever maintenance stuff. I have been complaining about the ac and they do nothing about it. They will wait till the temperatures drop down and them come and show you that the ac is maintaining its temperature. Dont ever lease any of these apartments if you dont want to be boiled to almost death in the summers and you dont want to foot a big electricity bill. They say they have they have 24*7 maintenance but they just have 1 technician for the whole apartment complex which has more than 40 buildings. I had called them on 06/30/2018 with my house boiling at 86F and they havent even come to fix it till evening on 07/01/2018 and I am still waiting. My electricity bill for last month was $140 for a 2 BHK apartment.
I’m a current resident. My AC is not working since July 18th, I just received an email today (after calls and emails) saying that is not repairable and has to be replaced per a revision that they did yesterday.... I mean 1 MONTH AFTER MY MAINTENANCE ORDER, of course there is not date for the AC replacement.Property manager is not taking calls or responding emails, Brandy Cooper is rude.In Muirwood AC is considered a LUXURY...... thats what assistant property manager said today.
I have vacated the apartment after 5 years and still they are charging for normal wear and tear. I have stayed in many places. Not seen apartment community like Muirwood who is such money minded. For damages caused due to their service department they still charge tenants. Definitely not a place to stay. You can rather donate money to charity. Not a place to stay if you are not ready to shell out 10-15% rent increase every year. I stayed in this apartment for 2 years and every year the rent increase is way to high ,without any benefit to the residents. Maintenance requests take time and also windows are much older and winter is always problem here. If you are looking for better and friendly place ,look elsewhere.
One of the worst Apartment communities ever, especially the MANAGEMENT - MEAN STAFF!! I wish I could have given a ZERO STAR RATING but Google does not offer me an option. Apartments are High-end and great but if you encounter any issue, FORGET about it!1. Stinking smell in the Hallway for the past 2 months in Muirwood Enclave - after 3 consecutive requests raised, issue is not solved but they spray perfume which hardly lasts 1 or 2 days and close it stating Work Completed.2. You raise a maintenance request, mark it EMERGENCY, they take around a week to solve - Forget about Non Emergency issues.3. I bought a bike and there is no place for me to park it. They have sent out an email notice asking me to remove the bike from my Patio and do not offer me a Bike stand as well.MANAGEMENT - PLEASE HEED and CATER to THE NEEDS and ISSUES of Residents. Please treat everyone Equally.
I recently moved in. My movers couldnt fit my couch into my apartment. In a panic I drove to the office and told them of my dilemma. The maintenance man Austin helped my movers. I am so very grateful. Today the same maintenance man helped me to take out large boxes. I have an ankle injury and really appreciate the help.
Just moved out and Im regretting my decision. I stayed with a friend and the apartment had just been renovated. I wanted my own space though, so I moved to a cheaper one bedroom in a different community. Not a good decision. The maintenance at Muirwood is great, office people are very nice and MaryAnn at the gate was always so friendly. I work a lot of overnights and having her so cheerful in the morning made any bad day good. I cant wait for this year lease to be over with, so I can move back. You get what you pay for... its worth the extra money, trust me.
Horrible place. The apartment looks beautiful from outside but inside its all must be 20 years old i guess.Service is WORST:The old guy from service department is VERY RUDE. He just kicked my plant pot with his boots when he came to fix the heater. He never care to even stop and hear you. The MOST MEAN guy i have ever seen.Gated community:The gated community is a complete joke. They are just racist. The white lady in the gate will pull your guest in trouble if she dont like the skin color. Many a times they dont even agree that you are living in the apartment, when the guest told your last name. I literally ran to the gate from my apartment to rescue my guests.Rent:Rent is just too high compared to the apartments near by. All those apartments have huge waiting list but Muirwood always has openings. So guess whats wrong here :P EVERYTHING!I am just counting my leasing days to move the HELL out of here.
Leasing office and Maintenance is horrible...i cant wait to my lease is up!! Beautiful grounds but cant judge this book by its cover. Everything old in apt hm but rent continues to go up. I am still waiting on maintenance to replace cabinets and kitchen drawers that were broke and on my check in list for almost 2 yrs now SERIOUSLY! !
The staff is extremely rude - both the executives at the front desk and the maintenance people. No one ever picks up the phone at the service desk and no one replies back if you leave a voicemail. Our heating breaks down regularly during winters and even after calling multiple times at the emergency number, no body cares to come and check or change the faulty part or whatever is causing the heater malfunction. We have been extremely patient but have had a bad experience over and over again. Will not recommend it to anyone.
The heater is broken for 15 days and no update. We had to stay 2 days in a hotel because of lack of attention of service crew. The equipment is from the 80s and breaks a lot.Service is horrible. Apart from the attached image at least a dozen calls have been placed to fix this but to no avail.
It is not only beautiful or safe! Apartments are spacious, kitchen especially is huge. Staff is friendly and they accommodate dates for residents. The community is friendly and one can explore the indoor/ outdoor pools and the signature train of the Muirwood community in Farmington Hills.
Terrible experience with this apartments i have been residing in farmington from past 5years and never had issue with other apartments but with muirwood maintence is unbelivable they will get you scheuled after 2weeks when you complain, snow cleaning will be 1day after snowing no reposne from muirwood team when you complain about an issue .
This review concerns the business office, specifically Lisa and Brandy. They are two wonderful and helpful people. I sincerely hope they are part of the Muirwood staff for a very long time. Its very difficult to find high caliber, conscientious, dedicated employees in the service industry. Thank you Lisa and Brandy!
I don’t have any option to give negative stars. If you are to live in USA on Visa and have uncertainty with extensions and denials. This is not a right place to live. Management is worse than any IVR and don’t have practical empathy or considerations. You get multiple responses when you call or see someone in the leasing office. Charges are unreasonable if you have to leave the apartment with a lease break. The services are worst and Beztak properties take it for granted if you are on VISA. If you go for them with heat or cold leak issue through windows, they will suggest to go to Home depot and get the stuff to fill the windows, if you complain on insects coming from gaps of the windows / doors, they will close the ticket without any treatment. I have complained for a broken closet door and never fixed and while leaving i am charged with $150 for it. Car parking comes with pits and during rainy seasons, me or my kids can get into the car without stepping into the water pits. The treatment to the residents is horrible. If you are living here and need to leave home. Please take pictures to every detail and keep it ready to defend the unreasonable charges. There is a feedback survey that comes with every work order and it has no impact. I got a letter from HR explaining my visa denial and requested to waive off lease break or help me with anything. The harsh response from office was like this Feel happy that we are giving option to pay only 2 months’ rent as lease break + two months’ rent for not giving notice period, and say thank you for not asking all the amount for lease term signed. There was a tap leak issue in the commode and water was flowing continuously for 4 days in spite of emergency request. Unreasonable increase in rent with no logic or no improvements and simply say as per market rate. Attaching some pics after this feedback with request history and car surrounded with water in covered parking with pits. so you know how you get the house. You write a negative review on Muirwood website, it won’t show up anymore as it gets deleted. In spite of couple of emails requesting waiver of carpet and vinyl and late fee there is no response or help. I told them I dont earn in $$ and vinyl stain was already there when i occupied. I gave notice period on 5th April with move out date 8th April. They took the opportunity to charge me late payment (6th April for regular rent payment) charge of $50, even though the rent payment no more applies as i am paying 2 months notice and 2 months lease break. Added what I got a bill in spite of rash responses.
This review is regarding the maintenance manager, Dawn. I would give the complex as a whole 3 stars as far as a broad review goes due to various issues with the noise levels let in and the draftiness of the buildings. Dawn has been wonderful at helping to advocate for proper repair maintenance in my unit. Typically I havent had a lot of luck with communication with the maintenance managers but I find Dawn to be much more proactive. She was wonderful in reassuring me after I had to wait some time to get my AC unit fixed/replaced.
Service is worst. Heater in my building is not working. Early morning i raised maintenance request. One of the office staff Brandy Cooper replied me with a number to call for service. We guys kept on calling but no one was picking it. When I call back to the office number, lady there was very rude. She told if I want heater I would have to keep on calling. When I told we guys are calling for last many hours and all the times no one is picking she rude answer was keep on calling. When I told why there is emergency option in online request then. She told she is doing favor to us that she is in office on weekend and she put the phone down.
He entire community looks nice from the outside, but the service is terrible. The maintenance service can be delayed for weeks and their 24 hours emergency maintenance is a lie since they said the emergency defines case by case, so long you wont have a life threat, it is not an emergency case. My heater never got fixed when the night temperature is below 55 and they said it is code but your case is not an emergency. If the auto-payment is not completed, they will send you notifications by mail through post office and charge you late fee within 5 days, usually you won’t be eventually be notified until you pass the final deadline.
We just moved in last week. We loved the community and chose our newly renovated apartment. Despite being able to find a very nice apartment, we are not entirely happy after moving in. During our tour I asked the leasing agents if they had any infestations in the buildings and they said no. The day I moved in, there were several bugs crawling on the walls. Turns out they were bedbugs. BEDBUGS. The exterminators came on the same day but they confirmed my doubts about bedbugs AFTER I had moved in all my furniture. It sucks. Seriously, they should inspect their property more carefully prior to renting it out. Love the apartment, love the location, and the community. So, I will change the rating once I am 100% sure that the bedbugs are gone.Edit: Lesser bugs showing up so yay!
My experience here at Muirwood has been pretty satisfying to say the least. What i love most is the 24 hour gated/guarded security. No other complex offers this added amenity Which makes all the difference in the world to me.I also love this community, because its quiet, friendly and respectful. The grounds are always clean for the most part. Sometimes, however, the geese can be a nuisance but i have learned to deal with them.I am still waiting for and forever requesting that my carport be replaced. They leak a white residue onto my new car in the mornings and they are rusted and very very old. PLEASE make this a priority.I hope asking for the residents’ experience here at Muirwood is not for nothing.Tamara Anderson
Recently moved to Michigan and I was looking for an apartment. When I visited Muirwood leasing office first experience its self was horrible. Leasing agent behaves as if she is doing me favour bytalking or answering my question. The worst, very rude and arrogant leasing office staff. I wish I would opted for another apartment.
If there is a zero star option, I would put it. The people who work in the office are more than bad and rude. They are just nice and helpful when you want to move in . As soon as you become a resident and want anything you will know them well and you will be surprised how much rude they are. They made the rent go up more than one hundred a month. All the other apartments make it high from 25 to 50 with carpet cleaning every year. But, Muirwood every three years the carpet cleaning or you have to pay. It is just beautiful from outside. From inside it is so old you could hear any footstep from the neighbour.
Muirwood has the worst policy Ive ever seen, the leasing agents showed only one floor plan for 2 bed 2 bath, when I asked to show a model apartment for the floor plan which Im interested, they refused saying that they will only show the floor plan which they got not what we ask for. They asked to pay the security deposit $600 before I can see any apartment. then if we dont like that floor plan after we pay the security deposit the money will not be refunded according to the leasing agent.
We have been here for two years. Our lease is due for renewal -- we are going to pay extra to live month to month until we find a place to move to this summer.Everything is old an they do not fix things or do not know how to fix things. Our A/C is out all the time and all they do is put a band aid on it so they can leave. Then a day or two later the A/C is out again. God help you if your A/C goes out on Friday....you have to wait until Monday or even Wednesday for a visit from maintenance. The service is very anti-resident. This comes from the management and trickles down to the employees. We hate living here and --- Cant wait to move out. Absolutely No Value.
****DO NOT MOVE HERE*****This place is absolutely awful. The staff at the leasing center/business office are extremely rude and not the least bit helpful, how they are doing anything other than flipping burgers is beside me. I have been counting down the days my lease is up. The most awful place you could live. Everything is old and out dated and in horrible condition. The pool has always been disgusting so I have never stepped foot in it. What a waste of money. The apartment itself is crap they paint over everything including the counters. SAVE YOURSELF THE HELL AND FRUSTRATION BY NOT MOVING HERE!!!!!!

2022-01-12I’m a new resident, I arrived about 3 months ago at this apartments and honestly, the thin walls and floors are already driving me crazy, Im staying on the ground floor and I hear EVERYTHING that my neighbor above me makes in their apartment and its soooo annoying. Just now I saw another comment complaining about the same but its real, I feel like they are going to come through my ceiling sometimes. The trash is an issue, usually, its overflowing. My door doesnt fully close and in my first week, all around the door frame was full of bugs, now its winter time so, I dont have any problem... Just wondering about summer time. And during my short time living here, I havent seen that the gym was cleaned, and its so disgusting and dirty, in particular because we are in pandemic and it should be clean as much as possible, everybody share the equipment, which isnt safe. When I arrived I rise a ticket to maintenance because my fridge was not working properly, they told us that was going to be exchanged for a new one (two months ago) and at that time I mentioned as well to the maintenance guy that I was concerned about the roof light seams to coming out, he told me that it was normal 🙄I don’t think so… oh and we haven’t got the new fridge btw.Now the good things, I do like the layout of the apartment and the location, there are a lot of restaurants, stores and freeways.

2021-12-02I stay in Enclave apartments and honestly, I like staying there for the most part. My biggest dislike with my apartment is the thin walls and floors. I stay on the ground floor and no lie I hear EVERY step that my neighbor above me makes in their apartment. Its very annoying and irritating. Not to mention they walk extremely hard and seems like they never sleep. I either struggle to sleep or Im waken up in the middle of the night with all the walking. I feel like they are going to come through my ceiling at times. Secondly, the trash is an issue! Two buildings sharing one dumpster is not enough, its always overflowing with trash and also on the ground. Its not a good look especially when you have visitors come see you and the trash is all over the place. To piggyback off the cosmetics of the building and grounds, there has been a back door that has been broken for months. This door doesnt lock anymore, and the ground panel has been removed which created a huge gap for cold air and bugs to be in the entrance. When it was warm weather, it seemed like an insect museum with all the bugs and insects that were in there. Most importantly, anyone can just come in the building, which isnt safe. I brought it to the attention of the office and nothing has been done. Again, for the most part I do like Enclave, but there are things that could be done to make it a better place to live. Its pretty quiet, location is ideal and around a lot of restaurants, stores and freeways, and the residents are friendly. If I could give a 2.5 rating thats what I would give. Thanks

2022-04-21DO NOT LIVE HERE!It’s been about 2 years since I lived in this place and it still haunts me to this day. I was originally supposed to move into a 1 bedroom apartment, however the office staff informed me 2 weeks prior to my move that the apartment was no longer available. The only option was a much larger 2 bed/2 bath. At that point I had no other options, so I went ahead and took it. Upon entering the unit, a strong odor of urine hit me. Looking at the carpet, I could tell the last tenants had dogs. Carpet was extremely dirty and smelled horrible. Obvious that it has no been replaced or thoroughly cleaned.Next, I had on going issues with the AC. It continued to break during the hottest days of summer. I submitted multiple requests to have the unit fixed however maintenance only does “quick fixes” on issues. At one point the AC unit CAUGHT ON FIRE right next to my bedroom window and only then did they replace it.The worst part of this place is the roaches and bugs. I did my own pest control since the office seemed to think this wasn’t important. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!

2022-03-04I came to Muirwood second time bcoz my first time experience was truly awesome but this time I would not say bad, its very bad experience from management. Money laundering for the damage not done by us. Almost 10-12 replies on the mail to account manager and property manager explaining it isn’t our fault. How I wish I could upload a picture here for you all to see it. They are least bothered to even understand the issue or concern explained and why. They are just bothered about the payment. Inspite of so much of explanation and proof we were charged for that along with rent and it’s done in a very smart way. You have no choice to pay rent unless you pay the extra charges also. Not a good management though. I doubt they are concerned about tenants when there are issues like this. You will live happily only until you have zero issues, the moment you face something you get to see more of how things work here.

2022-07-08If you want to be charged a $10.00 fee each day the trash room has trash in it then this is the place to stay. I don’t understand how you can charge everybody in the building a fee because the trash room is overflown and you expect the whole building to use one dumpster make that make sense. Then if you talk to management their line is well we don’t know who to go after so we will go after everybody.(I don’t even think they can do that because it’s not in my lease) Secondly, you will never get no rest in this place the walls are very thin you will hear every little thing. Thirdly, I had expectations that I would be living in a semi gated community I been here since January and the gate been broke since. This place is just a dump. !!!!!

2022-03-16It seems now we have to go to social media to report our issues because nobody answers it on the Muirwood portal and via emails. I have been facing tons of issues in the apartment I live in and all the time I place a maintenance request it takes months for someone to attend to the issue. And when they come they either give me a lecture or they have tons of excuses. They perform some temporary fix and leave. The issue is never fixed. My advise to anybody who is planning to live here is - dont you dare!If the property manager is reading this :Referencing to 983581 - The toilet flush in both the bathrooms is flushing the water continuously. Please replace the unit. No more temporary fixes please. This has been the problem from day1.2) Master Bathroom - The shower water is either too cold or too hot. Replace this unit. No more temporary fixes please.3) Car port floods when it rains or snow melts. We are parking our cars in a pool it seems. Fix this4) Maintenance staff splashed mud on the outside of kids bedroom window. This needs to be cleaned.5) The net on kids window is broken6) Referencing to 983581 - Windows in both the bedrooms leak when it rains or snow melts. Person named David Tozer mentioned that window company will fix the issue and nobody turned up and its been months.Maintenance Staff - Dont give me lectures and excuses on these issues. Fix it.

2022-06-16One of the best communities for rental apartments. All range of apartments from 1 bed to 3 bed are available. Good security at entrance. Playing area for kids are available. Indian communities are 80% of total occupancy. But it is costlier than almost all neighbourhoods.

2021-08-11Pls dont mistake leasing here (trust me) and there are excellent other alternatives in the area. This is by far the most worst in this area and a big ripoff for their worst services and old equipment and buildings. Rain water always come inside the house, as the wall and sealings were bad (See the video). There were similar concerns expressed by others and read all the reviews here before you decide to move in.The apartment and the equipment is very old and when you leave this place they will charge you for all the existing damages. I am sure all the damages they claimed for the equipment itself not worth the damage price. I wonder if any one stayed here ever got their security deposit back

2022-04-16One of the worst places to live.We logged few important service requests a year ago. Did 100s of follow-ups to get them resolved and unfortunately no one is bothered to address them. There is no lock to the balcony door and it doesnt get locked completely. During winter outside air used to come inside and that made us to have freezing temperatures. I explained the issues to leasing and service team multiple times but none of them were bothered to resolve the issues. Its been an year and we are still being in the same way.

2022-05-05Do NOT try to live here. We went in Sunday agreed on a price, which I understand can change daily. We were told no more changes were going to be done by the rep. Turns out more changes… tried to charge me another $150 onto rent for that property for vinyl hardwood floors. Of course this was after I applied and they get your $110, which I am fighting back. Such a lack of transparency. I understand rates change daily. My girlfriend called and got a quote for $1409 ($1438 for me) not even with the $150 added that they said they needed for the same property, which was less than I was originally quoted. Either management needs to train their employees better or there is a lack of leadership. The team needs better communication. Giving people hope and peace of mind the having it ripped out is horrible business practices. Knowing someone that has lived in same community for about 20 years was stunned to hear of the incompetency. In reply to Muirwood’s comment. I believe the increase makes sense for the flooring and other upgrades. My issue is leasing staff was not aware of changes. We would’ve never applied for this apartment at the pricing. As this was the only pet friendly apartment available at the moment we would have moved on to a different property. The Property Manager gave me a call on 5/4 and is getting me comparable options. I would like the thank her for reaching out.
