We visited Saturday of July 4th weekend. Inside was full, but our party of 5 + toddler were happy to sit outside and soak up a bit of the late afternoon sun. Our lunch/dinner started off nicely, our waitress Ashlee introduced herself and took our drink order. Drinks didn’t take too long to arrive and we were soon ordering food. It seemed either impressive or unwise that our waitress wasn’t writing down our orders, but we gave her the benefit of doubt.Strike 1 - it took a while for our order (understandable), but when it arrived it was inaccurate and missing several items, such as my mother-in-laws items, my Aunts salad, my wife’s soup. No silverware for anyone so we had to watch our food get cold while we waited on that too.Strike 2 - when we asked about our missing items, Ashlee blamed everything on others - hostess should have given us silverware, kitchen is having a bad day, etc etc. Listen - we are a forgiving group, but please own the mistakes, it doesn’t help to pass the buck.Strike 3 - delayed items finally arrive, so late that my wife’s missing soup needed to be boxed to-go, as she was now done eating and it was time to leave.Under investigation- I paid the bill for our party and despite the challenges above, left a minimal tip to acknowledge the waitress efforts, but make a point that we were not pleased, $10 on bill of $126. Note - Ashlee didn’t offer any discount to rectify for the late/missing/inaccurate items. To my surprise, I checked my credit card statement afterward which reflected a charge of $149, indicating a significantly higher tip than I provided. I am in the process of following up with the manager now to determined what happened, but if this was intentional it is fraudulent and immediate corrective actions need to be taken.Lessons Learned - always keep a copy of all receipts. I kept a copy of my original receipt, but not a copy of the one with my tip amount — do yourself a favor and snap a quick photo, I know I will going forward. And always check your credit card statement to reconcile. I obviously do not trust Mulligans and you should take caution too.+ 2 stars for good food and drinks- 2 stars for bad service- 1 star for potential fraud and management delay in calling me back to discuss my concern
Good place to eat.. Food was Great.. Cute waitresses but need to get yingling beer in this place.. The waitresses said her dad wants it in here too... Next time I come I will try to order a yingling and hope the have it.. ( Holding up my beer) Cheers to the waitress dad for me!!!
The food was amazing!!! Our sever Amanda aka Charby (I think thats how you spell it) was awesome. She recommended the Mediterranean pasta and omg it was so good. She made our night with her positive attitude and great personality. The restaurant was so beautiful inside. Thank you Amanda for the great service..
Are you looking for a small town restaurant with amazingly delicious, palate-pleasing food? Well my friends, this is the restaurant for you!! We stumbled into this restaurant quite by accident when the first downtown dive bar we entered was COMPLETELY out of food!! 🤷♀️ I was surprised to see such a variety of choices on the menu. They have anything from fish to pasta to Tex-Mex, PLUS a ton of choices for your kiddies on the little tot menu. I myself, am TERRIBLE at making choices and was stuck between the perch and a fried goat cheese salad. I decided to be adventurous and try the fried goat cheese salad with steak. I cannot even describe the beauty of the salad delivered to our table. Not only was the plate pretty, it was AH-MAZINGLY delicious. The fried goat cheese medallions were indescribable and the steak was cooked to perfection! As a matter of fact, the food everyone ordered was delicious. My friends husband ordered the bourbon street salmon salad. I was seconds from forgoing our friendship and snatching his plate for myself!!If you are in Cheboygan..look up Mulligans for an over the top dining experience, but bad shots.😂
Wonderful restaurant. We arrived into town a little late and Mulligans was recommended by the hotel staff - it was one of few places still open. Right out of the gate, Mulligans had me hooked with the wide selection of beer (including Schofferhofer Hefe Weizen Grapefruit Bier - a tasty late-summer treat). The food was good and the service was great.
The atmosphere I guess is what keeps this place open. The staff was/is VERY friendly. The food, at least the burgers we had, is NOTHING to write home about.Dont get me wrong, its not bad food, just nothing that Ill be telling anybody about. But thats why I only took 1 star, to me the food doesnt/didnt stand out.
Great local family friendly bar with awesome food and staff. Everybody was super friendly and our waitress Olivia was super busy as the place was packed, but she was quick and on top of things. One of the best waitress weve ever had. The food was also as good as youd expect. Cant go wrong here. Well be back.
I went to this restaurant yesterday for a to go order. I wanted mashed potatoes but they only make those after 4pm. My order came with home made chips, I wanted those and added onion rings. I got charged extra for the rings which was fine but when I got home I had no chips. Then on top of it all they charged 3% to swipe my card rather than use cash. The food was ok but not great. I wont be returning to this restaurant.
Bad bad bad. I havent have food or service that bad in a long time. The place was full but the waitresses were either moving slow , talking to eachother hanging out, or in the back on their cell phones (yes we could see it all). The beer was skunky and tasted like the lines werent clean. The soda was flat and overly sweet. The prices were sky high (which I can accept as long as the food was good). I had what tasted like cheap shrimp and cheaper pasta ($17). My wife had a dish that tasted like bad spaghetti and hot dogs($15). I understand good help is hard to find but this place isnt even trying. Do yourself a favor and skip it.
We’ve been to Mulligans many times and have had great food. When we were there this time the service was great but we were disappointed with the rib dinner which definitely needed to cook longer, the sirloin steak was just okay. Even the baked potato needed to cook longer and the vegetables were barely warm. Our waitress was very good and we mentioned it to her but she didn’t do anything to compensate for the poor quality. It will be awhile before we go again.
I recently visited while staying in Cheboygan and was disappointed. The steak I ordered was mediocre at best. The mashed potatoes were ice cold in the middle, and the baked potato I received as a replacement was not much better. The prices here are quite high for the portion size and quality of the food I received. As many others have mentioned, the additional 3.5% charge on top of that for using a credit card was certainly off putting.
Stopped in on a Monday night for dinner with the family. Good points: My wife enjoyed her nachos, beer was cold, the cheese curds appetizer was tasty, and we liked the chicken noodle soup. Bad points: The ribs were very tough and not so edible. I probably should of complained and sent them back, but just picked at my sides and wasted the whole slab. My children also gave thumbs down for the sirloin steak and grilled cheese. All in all a disappointing experience.
Food used to be much better. The bruschetta used to be delicious, now its hunks of bread with a gob of mozzarella, and a few tomatoes. My medium rare steak was medium well... at best. The veggies were good at least. My mothers medium rare steak was very well done. I guess the cook put our steaks on and went to smoke a cigarette (which he told our waitress and she relayed to us. She was VERY apologetic for the restaurant she works at and honestly, if it wasnt for our server (Nicole) the whole dinner wouldve been so horrific. She is honestly too good to work at such a poor establishment.
Disappointed. They charge 3.5% to use a credit card. That by itself is unacceptable and will never go back. Our food was ok at best. The worst thing is they use a LOT of MSG in their food. I am allergic to MSG an know when Ive been exposed. The server tried hard, was very new, but she tried. I dont go to anywhere that charges extra to use a credit card, period. The MSG is not acceptable either.
Excellent food first and foremost!! Best wait staff ever, the gal who took our orders never wrote down a single thing and everything came out exactly right, it was amazing!! The food came out timed perfectly. The drinks were well made and the drink order arrived promptly. The restaurant is clean, the temperature was nice and it wasnt overly loud. I would recommend this establishment highly. Definitely worth stopping for dinner and drinks!
It’s very rare to find vegan options at places up here. i got the veggie burger without cheese & the patty was soggy and mushy. i also got a gun & tonic, which was completely flat & overly sweetened. the waitress was not friendly, but she might’ve been having an off day, so it’s fine… just was too thrown off by her attitude to want to ask for a better drink.
When we walked in, we had made reservations the day before and then we were told that they didnt have the reservation. We both ordered the Bourbon salmon. The vegetables were cold and tasted like they were frozen. We ordered sweet potato fries and instead we received mashed potato. My girlfriend ordered her bourbon sauce on the side, but instead it was smothered with sauce. They brought out an order of burnt seasoned fries which were not palatable. They brought us another order and once again the fries were burnt. The waitress indicated that she would take the fries off our meal, but once again they failed to deliver.
Good food and service. Really nice people in this town. There was a sn adolescent that was walking around the restaurant talking to the two other tables with customers and he would walk up and ask them what they were gonna have more than once but everyone was very kind to him. He was even helping the waitresses. It was so nice to see the kindness they were sharing with the young manIt made the dining experience so much more. And the Lavendar fizz was the bomb.
Good friendly fast service, clean, good variety of items offered on the menu, big portions, served hot, reasonably priced. Current restrictions being followed. The full order of Nachos are BIG, better be hungry. The onion rings are a must! They offer full dinners after 4pm. We will stop her again . Thanks to the staff.
I am not going to lie. We were in the area about 3 years ago and stumbled upon Mulligans and loved it! It was and is very clean and has a great atmosphere. But this time around the food was just ok at best. Not sure if COVID has caused the kitchen staff to turn over or what. But it is not what we remembered.
Food was very bland. Bread was hard as a rock and my husbands mash potatoes were extremely old. He got perch as well. Only came with 4 pieces that were not much bigger then fish sticks and flavorless. The waitress was sweet and I stilled tipped 20% because the food being bad was not her fault. Wont b going there again.
Food was great but the manager, not our server, tried to cheat us. She tried to over charge us for sweet potato fries ($4 instead of the posted price of $2 on the menu) and tried to charge us for 4 beers instead of a split 3rd beer “Bc it looked like 4 beers”. Good food and atmosphere other than hearing servers arguing with the manager about masks being worn in the future. Watch your receipt. That said, they did correct the price before we left.
Been to Mulligans several times. It just keeps getting worse and worse. Last time there my mashed potatoes were cold sent them back and yet again cold. Today we were seated 5 minutes before another couple and yet their order was taken 1st. I ordered a fish sandwich with nothing on it low and behold it had lettuce, tomatoes. Actually took cash this time cause I refuse to pay credit card usage fee of 3.5%.....taking credit cards is the price of doing business. Best of luck to you if you go its hit or miss and mostly miss lately!!!!
I rated this a 4 because the food is good, but it was also, all over the floor. There were patrons in there with canes and walkers. This looked like an accident waiting to happen. I know that everyone is short staffed but how hard is to train your existing staff to bend and pick up a piece of food as they walk by it. If they dont want to touch it, they could just carry a napkin in their pocket.
We have frequented Mulligans many times over the years. The food is usually good and service is fine. We went recently and were disappointed at a few things. Our salads were fine but and asked for additional dressings. To our surprise the additional dressings cost us $6 (we hadnt been charged in the past) and we only found out when we got the bill. On top of that they want us to pay additional for using our credit card. When we complained, the manager said that dressing cost a lot. Really? Needless to say but their short term greed will cost them in the long run as we have no intention on going back there.
Not very good at all. If your kitchen cant produce a quality product, then just close the doors. Steak tips were not seared or seasoned with salt or pepper, very pale looking as if microwaved, horribly tough. Then you charge 3.5% to use a credit/debit card, I should have wrote a check for the bill.
We had a great lunch here today as we were doing an up north ride. The nacho was exceptional and a very big portion. The chips were fresh and the cheese was quality. The potato skins were very good. A restaurant that is managing Covid very well. Masks are required, directional arrows, limited numbers.Good food, good service and safe.
Came to Mulligans at 11am during the week and we were the only patrons. The service was terrible. Came back hoping for a better outcome Saturday at 3pm and it wasn’t any better. Neither waitress was attentive and had to ask for refills. The burgers are amazing (best we have ever had) and the Chicken fajitas salad was awesome as well! Also ordered the pork nachos kind of bland but added bbq sauce and it was much better.Very disappointed that the service was so bad.
The food was very good. The flavors were exceptional, and the atmosphere was nice. I really liked their mac & cheese, which seems lame, but Ive been all over the country looking for the best mac, and this one was pretty great. The only I complaint I have is that the portions were small for the prices.
Great experience with the family tonight.Mandy always goes above and beyond to be kind, attentive and makes sure that the customers are having the best experience! Also, Kerriann sat us to our table & has a wonderful personality that makes the customers feel welcome!Would highly recommend Mulligans.
Went for a nice meal while we were in Cheboygan on business. We ordered the prime rib special but they were out. We substituted the prime pib for sirloins with garlic mashed potatoes. Midway through the wait for our meal, they came and told us they were out of the mashed potatoes. When our food came out, the medium steak was almost burned along one side. The dog was okay with it later but we were a bit disappointed. They came highly recommended so maybe it was just an off night. The appetizer, soup, and salad were delivered promptly, the food was flavorful, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Just not 5 star for what we paid.
The service was great 4 Stars, yet the food was okay. The lava cake dessert was more like a brownie unfortunately. My niece loved the chicken wings, which were tasty. However, the rest was either too salty for my liking. If I were to visit again, Id try another dish and be open to change the review for better.
Im a tourist, so i relied a lot on the reviews of places. This place had pretty mixed reviews with the most recent not being very good. I decided just to give it a go. I am very glad i did. It wasnt crowded, and i was seated quickly. On this day i opted to sit at the bar. I was waited on by Tina. She was very friendly, made suggestions, and made amazing drinks! I was sad to see that the shrimp stuffed salmon that i saw online was no longer on the menu. I decided to get the shrimp & clam scampi. I was not a fan, but not because of the dish itself. It was just too sweet for my taste, but thats a personal preference. I enjoyed my experience so much i came back the next day. Again, i was seated right away. My server was Kionna (not sure of the correct spelling), and she was also very sweet and attentive even when larger parties filtered in. I ordered the Tequila Lime Shrimp this go round, and it was delicious! The rice was a little too soft for my taste, but again thats a personal preference. If I am ever in the town again Id definitely return!
While vacationing, my wife & I arrived Thursday 3:00 pm. Nice restaurant good atmosphere. Waitress was prompt and very nice!I ordered a Hamburger medium well done, FF & craft beer. Beer was good, FF terrific, but Hamburger was literally raw on the inside.Took 2 bites and couldnt eat it. The sweet waitress apologized and took my plate back.To my surprise I got the same Burger back (with the same 2 bites out of it, lol) and the same fries, only ice cold by this time, and the Burger had a 6 inch long string of some sort in it. My wife very nicely asked to talk to the manager, but no manager was on duty.My advice to you business owner, pay for a professional Manager, sooner the better!
Take out only. Ordered a main course, with horseradish sauce, salad with dressing, and wine. Pick up was efficient. Back at hotel, opened donner. Did not get salad, wine, or any sauces. In a hotel, but didnt tell them, so needed utensils. Called and went back for salad, sauces; wine and utensils. They were nice and extra generous with wine as a sorry. Back at hotel, still no utensils. Arghh. Now they are closed. Lesson: check your bag before driving home.
Food was good but staff seemed to be a tad to relax as they were always talking among other staff. We walked in and saw a sliced pickle in the floor and when we lefted over a hour later it still was there. Right in the middle of the dining hall. The same waitress walked around it countless times.
I was having a dinner after my wedding. Service was wonderful food was good steaks were a bit salty for our liking. The manager was very helpful setting up and working with us on prices HOWEVER when I arrived my wedding cake I had delivered the morning of was sloping and my cake topper was taped together as if it had been dropped. No one even came to talk to me about it. I was so sad since we planed to get photos of it at the dinner and it looked awful and tacky. 💔
Food was excellent and the servers outstanding! On a busy night just watching all the servers (yes, if youve ever been a server yourself you do tend to notice, lol) they worked together, helped each other deliver orders, offered to take away dirty dishes even though not their table, look at other tables while passing and not just scurrying by with their eyes down. TARYN was the best server weve had in a long time: organized, prompt, thoughtful, Very knowledgable about menu and beers on tap, personable but not over-friendly, she really made our visit great!
Went to eat at 5:30 PM. Order sirloin steak ... none available. Ordered prime rib ... none available. Ordered ribs ... none available. Settled for a chicken fajitas. My wife got the last order of ribs, which we shared. 3 hours later BOTH of us came down with stomach cramps and related malady. Not a good experience.
Very poor value for my money. Is a bar atmosphere. Ordered perch dinners for $23.99. Received 2 perch, cup of soup or salad, potato. Salad was mostly summer greens (couple cherry tomatoes, few croutons add two pieces of cucumber). Soup was chicken noodle. - mostly broth but the few noodles were home made type. I asked how they determined how many perch per plate and waitstaff stated it was “half a pound per plate”. She had also stated when taking our order that Russian dressing was the same as Thousand Island.
Worst experience ever at a restaurant. We arrived at 11:45am with only three tables occupied. Took forever to have someone take our order. We waited and waited had to ask the server several times if something was wrong. We had our 2 young children with us had to ask for some crackers for them. Finally almost 2 hours later our food comes out after I told the server to cancel our order and we would pay for our drinks and appetizer. Food was horrible, my sons hamburger was more like a meatball on a bun. The homemade mac and cheese with pulled pork was obviously boxed mac and cheese with less then an ounce of what was suppose to be pulled pork on top. They get one star because at least the water was cold. Other tables were also having the same issue asking how much longer. If you have time for a three hour lunch with overpriced and sub par food this is the place.
My buffalo chicken wrap was alright and the waitress was really good...but my wifes queso with her pretzel sticks tasted like heavy whipping cream. What really garnered the two star rating was my daughter ordering mac-n+cheese for roughly $6 and they came out with a half bowel of craft macaroni and cheese. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried it, and definitely the 99¢ box of macaroni and cheese. The only reason why they get two stars and not one was the staff was super friendly.
This place has gone downhill in my opinion. I have visited this restaurant many times over the last 3 years. The service has always been iffy but the food is usually good. I went there for lunch on 7/15 and ordered the Bourbon Street Salmon salad as I usually do at a cost of $14. In the past this salad came with a good size piece of salmon. That day it came out with two very small pieces of salmon that appeared to be trimmings off a larger piece. When I complained I was told that they needed to make a change to the serving size to save cost and was told that what I hadd was the new serving size which they said was 2 ounces which I really doubt it was that much. At $16 per pound that is $2 worth of salmon on a $14 salad. I find this ridiculous and will not be back again.
READ BEFORE YOU ORDER MEAT:Unfortunately, I must report negatively about my dining experience after many years of patronage to this restaurant.I ordered the prime rib cooked medium rare and received an overly cooked-through piece of meat. In my attempt to return it for a properly cooked one, I was informed that the chefs could only cook their entire supply to one temperature. I spoke with the manager who admitted that their prime rib is reheated from day to day and therefore gets over-cooked. Since that (new?) policy was not disclosed upon ordering, I requested the whitefish in its place. When my new meal arrived, the plastic sauce container was placed on top of the sizzling plate and melted onto the dish. The manager took my bill and stated he would take care of it, but still charged me for my meal. While I appreciate the attempt at a meal replacement, both dishes were prepared inappropriately and nothing was ultimately done on the managerial side to correct the issue. More concerning is the restaurants willingness to serve warmed-over meat from an earlier day, instead of cooking items fresh to order. My family and I will no longer be returning to this establishment.
I came here on August 29, 2019 for my grandpa‘s birthday. Four out of nine of us ordered prime rib medium rare (pink). when we received our prime ribs they were all cooked medium well(grey). Then the manager came and told us that our food was cooked properly and we didn’t know what we were talking about . She was being a complete bitch to us and gave us a huge attitude. I really wish there was someone higher up than her that we can complain to. Will never be back.
Well we came in for lunch.... Only a few tables with people. We ordered steak bites as a meal, burger/onion rings, kids meal cheese quesadilla/fries. 2 tables a total of 7 people ate before we got our food. Those 2 tables came in well after us. I paid like $3.50 for a side of hand dipped onion rings with my burger i got 6 onion rings! 6! Also the steak bites appetizer that was ordered as a meal came with burnt toast. It came with toasted bread that was black! Needless to say... Not pleased
Was looking for a nice steak last night. Unfortunately was not to be. They only have one, an 8 ounce sirloin. Which I only hangs two stars because it was cooked the way I asked and tender. But thats where it stops. Classic sirloin flavor with a hint of liver. Needed a1 sauce. Baked potato had that old warmer flavor, however I was there late, Ill give them that. They need to have better steaks. Great lakes grill aint three best steak Ive had but its the best in town. Was looking for something better. Think Ill go back to hoppies landing next time.
When ordering I specifically asked the waitress to please bring my soup with my meal, and of course it came out an hour before the meal and my husband ordered a meal that came with a salad and had to ask for it. The wait time for our meals was at least an hour! Also, my husband ordered, he ordered a baked potato and when she brought his meal she said we ran out of baked potato so I brought you garlic mashed. She should have let him know ahead of time so he could decide what he wanted! About the only good thing was they had a shuttle to and from our motel which was much appreciated!
A mostly American menu. On a Friday or Saturday night expect to wait at least 10 minutes for parties of 5 or more. The host was very accommodating for our group, our waitress was attentive and pleasant. I ordered the wet burrito and it was excellent, other in our party ordered other various items and were very happy with the food and the service. I would definitely recommend Mulligans. We went again Saturday night it was excellent. Service was great, I got the prime rib Alfredo it was unbelievable!!!!
The Buffalo Chicken Dip was almost good. Could have had a little more chicken and a lot more spice. When I order Buffalo I expect spice. The little pitas served with it were very tasty. Had the Blood Orange ale and Blueberry Cream ale, both were excellent. I had the Spinach Salad, husband had the Cobb Salad, both were very good. We will be back. Server was very sweet and timely.
Cassie was our waitress! She was awesome! We had our mothers 85th birthday dinner there, The food was great! The staff were so kind and helpful. Thanks Mulligan for such wonderful memories, we dont know how many more we will have!! But this was truly an awesome one and one of the best!
Went to dinner with my son and his friend form Chicago, my husband and my other sin. The service was terrible. The waitress did not understand our drunk order. She failed to bring our water. We ordered appetizers and the steak was overdone. The spinach dip was not creamy at all. Our main course the burgers were not cooked as ordered. The salmon was dry. The chicken salad was too spicy. I asked for little to no seasonings in the chicken. It was dry and burned my mouth off. I was very disappointed for how much it cost, and am hesitant to go back. There was also shrimp tails all over the floor under and around our table. Not sure what the issue is. This is not the first time this has happened to us. Not sure we will go Back.
The atmosphere here is great. We were actually disappointed in our food thou. I had a Chicken fatigue wrap and the sauce tasted so salty I only ate half the sandwich. My husband had a burger and said it was nothing special. There was a huge party being served in the back room while we were there delaying our meal. We would try it again and give it a 2nd change.
The food and atmosphere was ok. The server was great. The manager was not OK. He seated people before us that came in after we did. , I think they were his friends. After we were seated we asked to move to a different table so that we could view the television because the Michigan game was on. He finally said OK he could move us to a different table. They put us in a corner and we asked the waitress if we could move to one that was better for viewing the television. And she said OK.Then the manager came over and told us he was saving this table for someone else that wanted to watch the Michigan game. Obviously his friends. If we had not have already ordered, we would have left. We won’t be back. Thanks to the manager. It’s no wonder that one of the local we talked with recommended we go to Mackinaw city instead of coming here.
Generally, I would have rated Mulligans as being very good. USED TO BE the food was great and fair prices but I think theyve increased them too much (service normally good to very good). Ive eaten there since they opened and they were doing so good but lately Ive been very disappointed w/ some of their changes. The menu has changed so much and so often that it looks like theyre trying to be a pub (theyre not), theyve increased their prices enough that its no longer family friendly and the last time I was there - I had the WORST meal ever and it wasnt cheap! Had to send my meal back three times and still came out awful. Dont know why that happened as normally their food was good. Still, I know I will never order beef there again including steaks, prime rib, anything beef related. I also will not take family there anymore nor will I refer people to Mulligans (Ive taken lots of people there including groups of 20 to 25 because it USED to be a good restaurant w/ good food, good service and decent prices - not any more). Very, very disappointed in Mulligans. Why did you have to change?
Service was less than desirable; waitress came to the table to take order, drop food off, and to bring bill, never once asked how the food was or if I needed anything else but the food was very good. Had the spinach artichoke dip and the goat cheese salad. Felt as though the prices were fair.
All of my previous experiences here have been ok, but Ive always sat at the bar and had a drink and an appetizer with low expectations. This time I was with friends and their two kids. The service was not good, the food was worse. One kid got the wrong food, a grilled cheese that was burned on the outside and cold on the inside. After just not coming back forever, not refilling drinks, not bringing water, etc the waitress eventually got around to bringing the right food out. Not until after we were ready to leave, and then the chips were literally blackened. It didnt seem like anyone was interested in trying not to be terrible during this visit. Might give it another chance, but Im not sure I can lower my expectations further.
Went in about 3, no one in the restaurant but 2 other couples. Food took forever to come out, barely saw our waitress, my husband started drinking my drink because she never was at the table. When the food did come out it was pretty bad. My husband and sister both got nachos, and both felt awful the whole rest of the day. I got the chicken Alfredo and there was about half a cup of grease at the bottom of the plate and it tasted kind of sour???
We (my 11 yr old son and I) were in town for the weekend. We stopped in on Friday for dinner. Great food, great service. We enjoyed our time. The next day, we had to plan for dinner. My son wanted to go back. We got there and it was BUSY! Not a problem. We could wait. After waiting 20 minutes of the 30 we were told by the manager or owner that we could either sit at the bar or wait longer. he was very short with us, but not a big deal. Like I said, they were busy. However, once sitting at the bar with my son, we waited, and waited, and waited. There were two bartenders. Both continued to help walk up customers with cash drink orders and blatantly ignored us. No offer of a menu. No drink order. Nothing! A waitress on the other side of the bar noticed our displeasure and us trying to catch the attention of one of the bartenders and offered to start our drink order. I I was upset. My son was hungry after riding bikes earlier in the day. We’re really looking forward to being back since the food was so good. Owner/manager said it was busy so we’d have to wait. He said if we couldnt wait, we could go somewhere else. He really didnt want our business. He put his hand on my shoulder. I told him to remove his hand from me. He then told us to leave!! It was the most ridiculous exchange I have ever encountered. Very unprofessional!!!! I am Disgusted by how we were treated after having such a wonderful experience the night before! The manager/owner needs to take it down a notch! He was wound a bit too tight! Rather than apologizing for being ignored, and taking care of business, he chose to kick us out. My son was so upset by the way we were treated that he was embarrassed and crying!! We found another place to eat just fine and we will make sure that everyone we know that may be travelling up to Cheboygan will know how awful this place treats people travelling to the area. I am still beside myself wondering what the heck happened!
I am a man of many chicken tendies, and dare I say, this is the place to most enjoy the tendies. I have reviewed every other restaurant in the lame town of cheboygan and this is the source of crispy chicken tenders with smooth ranch and garlicky toast to dip in the ranch. When god created light he also created Mulligans chicken tenders and the ranch. I blame every single one of you...
Service was terrible. Stacked Nachos were stacked with iceberg lettuce. Hardly any cheese on top of soggy broken up chips. The chicken in the Alfredo and Cajun pasta were tough strips that tasted like they were cooked 3-4 times before they were thrown in the dish. Absolutely terrible. Would never return or recommend this place. Servers will literally ignore you - my husband sat for about 15 min before she finally asked if he wanted another beer. We went in for lunch, after the rush and took us 2 hours, there were only 3 of us!
We had a great whitefish dinner and discovered that on Wednesday they have 1/2 off bottles of wine!!! The kitchen was a little behind because everyone came at once but our server made up for the wait by continuing to check on us and bring us bread, salads, etc.. definitely will visit again next time we are in Cheboygan.
I travel for work. The restaurant was recommended by my hotel. I walked in to a full house! Sip & Shop - Ladies Night. I asked what was the “next best place to eat” and the manager came over and squeezed me into a spot at the bar. The locals were awesome and the perch was outstanding. I warned them “I would be back”!!!
Pretty good selection of food and beer in a neighborhood atmosphere. Food quality was pretty decent and on par with what Id expect for a downtown restaurant.Wait staff was good, and the place was clean. Food service was reasonably fast and prices were what Id expect for a bar&grill.
Excellent service, food was awesome, there was eight of us and the server never wrote anything down from the start to the finish, never missed a thing and everyone got what they where supposed to,all food came out at the same time and was hot, far cry from most restaurants in this area
A half dozen flies attacked us during our entire meal. I ordered a Sprite. When it was 1/2 full the server filled it with water. I asked for a new Sprite and it was brought in a FILTHY glass. The $3 side salad was smaller than a Wendys child sized fries. The fish tacos contained 3 fish sticks from Gordons. But the Mile High Chicken Nachos were pretty good.
We have dined at Mulligans on multiple occasions over the yeas and have found both the food and service to be excellent. We enjoy watching the Red Wings on multiple TVs throughout the uniquely decorated tavern. Our daughter was recently married at our Lake House. We hired Mulligans to do both the rehearsal dinner and the barbecue reception. The general manager, Jack Pappas was simply wonderful to work with in planning both meals and all the details. His staff was professional and courteous for both events. Jack found a refrigerated trailer that was just the ticket for keeping the food fresh, flowers crisp, and of course the beer and wine chilled. The food was absolutely scrumptious and we had lots of leftovers that Jacks team boxed up for us. If you are ever in need of hiring a caterer in the Cheboygan area, we wholeheartedly recommend Jack and his crew from Mulligans! Thanks so much for making our daughters day extra special. Sincerely Tricia and Ron Leng

2022-03-24I understand coming in an hour before closing isn’t always the best, although I think for the price of the food the cooks should at least try to cook a decent meal. The server didn’t want to be there anymore, the food came out super fast and was still cold. The burger was basically just grease. Although the bun the burger came on was super delicious. Oh and the soup was fantastic but was cold. The waffle fries were good too. My drink was good too. That’s all I have to say about that. Probably won’t go back, but maybe
