My husband and I have switched to Mid-MI. last year. My husband recently had 2 cataract out patient surgeries.. What a great surgical staff. Very professional and friendly. We feel confident using this health system.My husband returned for an eye surgery in 2021. Same service. Very nice staff and great care. Another successful surgery. If you need an eye Dr., Dr. Claringbold is your guy.I also have a Neurologist, Endocrinologist & Orthopedic Doctor within this health system. I feel very confident under their care.
I was rushed to the Hospital because my blood pressure wasn’t registering I should have been gone but these nurses and doctors got everything hooked up and got medicine going through me and I was fine after a while I was coming to and feeling better I owe them all a million thank you I’ll go to that hospital again December 8 2021 I love the newer doctor she is the sweetest kindest person Dr Nataial Tetyeh not sure if it’s spelled right
Full disclosure, Ive had 2 negative experiences with a different dept within this hospital. However, the E.R. staff was fantastic on 3/18/2020. We are in the Corona Crisis, I am a newly diagnosed cancer patient, one week out from my first chemo treatment and my port started showing signs of infection. Every staff memeber I interacted with was amazing last night and I felt confident they did everything in their power to protect me while treating something that is honestly a bit outside their normal range of services. I was utterly terrified to be in a hospital while so compromised and they did an amazing job of making it easier.
Oct. 2016 - I had an all around great experience at MidMichigan - Clare when I had surgery there to repair and pin a broken finger. Check in was super easy and I was taken back to the pre-op room very quickly, which was nice. I was 5 weeks pregnant when I had to have the surgery, so I was a nervous wreck about making sure the baby was safe. Every nurse I had was extremely understanding of that and they were all kind, patient, and helpful. They didnt mind answering all my questions (and I had a lot) and took a great deal of time to explain everything to me. The anesthesiologist, Rick, was wonderful! Due to my baby, I couldnt go under and instead had to do a nerve block. He thoroughly explained everything to me and then stayed by my side the whole surgery, talking to me, keeping me calm, and making sure I was okay both physically and mentally. Him being there made a world of difference to me. Dr. Middleton did the surgery and was great! He was quick and made it as painless as it could be. Since I was awake, him and the others helping him explained everything to me to help put me at ease as they could all easily tell I was terrified. Recovery went smooth, the nurses were again all attentive and kind. Every person, whether medical professional or person on staff, that I encountered went above and beyond and it was easy to see that they were all there because they are genuinely caring people who want to help others. I am extremely pleased with my experience at MidMichigan - Clare and would recommend them to anyone!
Incompetent... E.R doctor had me admitted because my labs was way out of wack they said.... Until I get upstairs and the ladies tell me my labs are perfect they dont know why I was told that downstairs. I asked what the plan was with me for the day since no one has told me anything.... They dont know.... So here I sit in a room with no idea what is going on the nurses dont even know whats going on. Save your time money and energy and dont come here this place is a joke..
I actually give no stars. This hospital is a poor excuse. Their doors should be closed!! People come in and are diagnosed with covid they send home instead of setting them up for ivermectin or hydroxychloriquin or the antibody treatment. ITS A CURE!! I wonder how many people you let suffer and die?
I would give no stars if that was an option. My mentally and physically handicapped sister was brought in on Friday with seizures, she has a history of seizures and has been taken to that hospital for 23 years. The nurse would not allow my mother back with my sister and when she was allowed back was told my sister was faking it and she shouldnt even be there. When my sister got home she told my mom the nurse hit her in the chest. Where she now has a huge bruise. My mom called the hospital and was told my sister was unresponsive and the nurse had to do a sternum rub. And they would back their nurse, at this time my mom asked why she was told my sister was faking and shouldnt be there if she was unresponsive. They only said that is not the story they were told by the nurse!
All the doctors in Clare are bad only want money for us and don’t give you the medication you need bad decision really want me do chiropractor and after that MRI so my back is bad like 3 year and I try all the medication for pain and nothing all the doctors in Clare and Harrison are bad
My insurance covers flu shots I had to pay $25 for a flu shot.
Got a transvaginal ultra sound, found a fibroid cyst on my uterus had to have surgery to remove said fibroid cyst. Just to find out it magically disappeared, so bottom line. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. Obviously they do not know what they are doing. This is my second time having them mess up on important and serious Health issues. And the last time because I will take that extra time to go anywhere else but Clare Hospital. Please be careful using this hospital because I wouldnt want what I just went through to happen to anyone else. Id recommend going anywhere else but Clare. My personal opinion.
Time after time Ive had problems with this hospital. I dont know how the heck it is still open!? 3 people in the waiting room and we have waited for almost 3 hours now. How does it take this long to look at someone? Never have I waited so long just to be seen, for something very simple. Last time I came here I brought my 1 year old daughter for an ear infection. They sat us in a room with a man that was obviously in a lot of pain, and just forgot about us! We sat there and waited for 3 hours in the damn room just to be looked at.... 3 hours and no doctor so I took my child and walked out. Horrible hospital. Someone in charge should take some control and actually make these people do their jobs.
Im from Ohio and I had to go to this hospital for some pain I was having. They got me directly back to a room and I saw the doctor within minutes I was in and out in less than 4 hours. In ohio it would be more like 8.
I came here for the 3rd time bec my child has strep and he getting dehydrated. We waited for 2hrs before they did anything! I told the dr. We was going to go to another hospital and he said It doesnt work that way, its in my control now, it doesnt work that way and if you try to leave I will call child services on you WOW!!! They couldnt even get the ivy in my sons hand so I went through all of this for NOTHING! DO NOT COME HERE!!!
In 1988 and 1991 I had 2 babies born by C section and the experience was wonderful. In this last year I have been there three times, with the last time being a week ago with a grand mal seizure. They did a great job stabilizing me and then sending me to their Midland Hospital. I would chose Clare ER over MT. Pleasant ER anytime.
I would suggest to this hospital if you cant handle grouchy people that are in severe pain then please close down! How can a ER REFUSE treatment because someone is grouchy???? I understand the staff isnt a punching bag but when people are in pain they are mean sometimes, especially when the patient has been in pain for years! How does a Dr not know that your blood pressure rises when your in pain??? It seems to be this Dr that we always have issues with. Incompetent!!!!!
Went in for simple blood work, next day my arm is killing me and I have a black spot the size of a half dollar. It’s super puffy, I have never had that happen at any other facility. I wish I would of went to Mt Pleasant :( This hospital tends to have poor staff with a few good apples.

Its the ER staff! When you know a patient comes into the ER with Pneumonia, ( per a CT scan done 2 days prior in your facility) you dont leave the suffering patient sitting in a room for 2 hrs. You are suppose to administer a Nebulizer treatment, listen to the lungs, OR actually hospitalize that patient per their family physicians request. NONE were done, yet the insurance carrier will be billed. Please FIX your ER staff Mid Mich Med Center at EACH location.
My experience was just horrible from the get go. I took my son in to see if they could assist in just stopping his vomiting. He is a military vet and does ongoing outpatient treatment here in Clare Michigan. I was with him through the entire ordeal. They gave him a shot of adavan (sp) within minutes of his arrival, because the nurse had waited on him months previous, she was afraid of him. The doctor treated him inhumane in my opinion. He even said that I was upsetting him and the doctor, I have never ever upset my son, He only asked for help. After puking for a day and all night long, he looked at the nurse and said please help me. When she went to give him a shot, and an iv, instead of letting him know, he went for his vein... he said, no no what are you doing, she told him, I told him, he was good with that, I sat with him through the time they gave him the shot and all he did was sleep, so I took pictures of him sort of as a family joke so I could pick on him.. Within minutes of his arrival the er doc told both Pete and I he was being transferred out. What he did not say, was that he was making arrangements to have him sent to Battle Creek in the phsych (sp) ward. He actually lied and said Pete was disallusional, having horrible flashbacks, and very violent.He also kicked me out of the room and told he he was not going to put up with me. Because I tried to say, look, Pete has a virus, he just wants something to assist with the vomiting so I can take him home... It took the nurse 3 hours to bring a blanket in the room for him as he was cold. I put my winter jacket over him to help him warm up. He was sweating profusely, as my entire family does sweat profusely when we are ill.. I will never ever go to Clare Medical Center in my life again for anything. I am not the only one that feels that they mistreated him inhumanely. When they finally took him out, they actually took him handcuffed, and shackled him and threw him in the back of the car and they indeed treated him as a criminal.My request to all of you veterans who suffer from Ptsd, or TBI, to never ever go to Clare MidMichigan Center for medical attention any time at all. They do not know anything of how to handle both of these conditions.. I have called over to the hospital to talk to both the Director and the risk manager yesterday, and am still waiting on someone to call me back..I am not sorry to say, but I have to hit one of those stars up there... I hope all of you read this and head my warning... Thank you kindly
I can honestly say I would prefer bleeding out to coming here. For the most part the staff is decent, some are a bit rude. Went there for a work related injury a few months ago, they never asked for insurance or payment info only asked who my employer was. They have been harrassing me for months now demanding I pay for that hospital visit. I informed them several times they needed to bill the companys insurer, which each subsequent caller denies having any record of them contacting me successfully, and then most recently I threatened to file harrassment charges. Now today, I got a notice in the mail for a summons to court from them. Absolutely rediculous.
Awful, awful people awful doctors! They are all ignorant and dont care at all about there patients here in the E.R we have been here 5 times in the matter of 10 months for the same thing, They are with out a doubt the worst hospital still standing! dont know how half these people still have a job. The nurce Deanna was cocky and very disrespectful and If recording them was not agiants the law i would have done just that to prove how ignorant she was to us. People do not go to clare hospital especially if you think your life in danger you will either end up dyeing or pretty close to it! Some one comes to this hospital dying and they will probably send them home with some rash creme here put a little this on those bursted appendix hope to see you soon. I received very poor care. I went into the ER in Clare due to a back injury. The nurse (Pete) came and got me, took my vitals and left. About 45 minutes later the Dr came in (Travis Taylor). He touched my shins bilaterally and asked if I felt them the same on both sides. Did this again with my feet. Than asked me to wiggle my toes. He then said he was giving me Valium and Tramadol and discharged me. There was no tests done, he refused to do a x-ray when I asked and never even checked or looked at my back. In Clare County we have a huge Drug problem. This is a case of the Dr not doing his job. He was simply being a supplier of drugs. I did not go into the ER for drugs, I went in to get a diagnosis and a way to make it better. I am completely disgusted in my treatment that I received.
Out patient surgery this morning with Dr. Sternberg, for my foot. Great experience with the staff today. Nice to know that I could joke with the staff taking care of me. Helped me relax about having my surgery. Thanks, to the maximum amount!
I came to pick up my father waited over a hour talked to the nurse they tried saying they didnt know anyone was there to pick him up when they did tried explaing it and the nurse got rude with me and gave me a very bad disrespectful attitude...
We have had our ups and downs here people do make mistakes no place is perfect but tonight we are super pleased with how they treated my daughter even though they were busy they took the time to honestly answer our questions they treated our daughter there and sent us home with prescriptions to continue my daughter getting in better health her fever is already going down. thank you so much
I hate this hospital and the wicked ER nurse who I blame for my mothers current condition. That might be all Im willing to post at the moment but if your family member us ever sent here please get to them and get then out of that place as soon as possible! I wish I wouldve trusted my instinct to so just that...
Slowest hospital I ever been to and they dont truly care about their patients,this is far out the worst hospital Ive ever been to.
Was a great place to go for aqua therapy on degenerative disc L5 veterans disability program. A gem in the ruff as far as Im concerned among all bad reviews . Everything from ER to therapy to aqua negative traction people have been above great.
This hospital is top notch. Every encounter with staff, Dr.Dan, X-ray tech, Nurse Practioner, Stephanie, was exceptional!! Thank you all in making my hospital experience a positive one.
The secretary was having a bad day. Head down window closed when I got there. I could not get her attention so that I could let her know I arrived so i just left. Looking for a new family dr. at the moment
Clare hospital is an absolute joke. Its no longer even a bandaid shop. Nursing staff would rather sit on their rears and gossip instead of taking care of patients
Was admitted overnight due to dehydration and kidneys. Excellent care! I felt very comfortable with the care I received. Staff was AMAZING! Thanks

Excellent care in a very clean environment May 10, 2016 ( er ) - present July 2016 ( Infusion center ) very caring, considerate, thoughtful , knowledgeable staff of nurses .
I took my 4 year old son in for an ear ache, we sat there for an hour and a half AFTER being seen by triage. The triage nurse was so rude to me. DO NOT GO THERE EVER!!!!!
I had my achillies tendon surgery there and they did a great job! The employees were all so nice and helpful and it was a very clean place.
The worse hospital ever. I well never go back again in my life. I was in more pain when I left the hospital and the stuff treat you terrible. If hospitals could get sued for being the worse hospital this hospital would be at the top of the list. I dont know how this place is even open...😤😤😤😤😤😤
This is the worst hospital, and should be shut down, staff is extremely rude, they all stand around talking, giggling, and eating while sick people are in the rooms waiting to be seen.... everything is so behind and unorganized, health inspections needed asap

The worst experience I ever had at an er, they got me in without a long wait but when they put me in the room there was blood on the floor and used needles with blood on the floor as well, once they got me in the room they pretty much forgot I was there and they werent busy at all, when I was there there was 2 other people as patients in the whole er and they werent doing anything with them either, they would come talk to you about every hour and half and that was it, when I got out my regular doctor looked in at the job they say they did and she was horrified, they did a terrible job according to her, ohhhh and the beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever used

2022-06-22My husband broke his nose and this was the closest ER. We needed the CT scans sent to our primary care doctor back home so his nose could be set properly by an ENT and we couldnt get through to the main records line at the midland location. We called the Clare records department and explained the time sensitive situation to Julie and she did an amazing job speeding up the process. Without Julies help my husband would not have been able to have his nose set in time without paying for another CT scan.

2021-12-15People what works here at this hospital are nothing but clowns what dont do anything at all. I believe that they take there brains out and play with it like Play-Doh. Dont come here to this hospital at all. Go to another hospital if you want anything done cause this hospital wont do anything at all, but give you the round around on stuff. This hospital hasnt even change at all since the 1990s.

2021-12-17I have to give a star but they dont deserve it. I arrived by ambulance for my 11 year old who had a seizure for the first time and I was shocked at how and what went on during the whole 7 and half hours we were there. Around one in the morning there was a lady who made it clear she had covid a couple of times and was in hand cuffs with no mask on😡 Now after announcing that she had covid and had to use the bathroom cause she had diarrhea they allowed it wth? Then didnt even clean the bathroom... its really upsetting to have to watch ppl in pain get up and leave cause it had been 5 plus hours of them waiting to be seen. They dont seem to be concerned about anyone who walks through those doors to be seen smh. Hopefully things change or get better but that place is ridiculous right now. They need to make some changes and get their act together.

2021-11-27I went to the emergency room On the 26th of November i politley told the lady behind the counter . I was there to get a endoscopy of my throat . And she was actling like i was being a inconvience to her . She told me i needed to pull my mask all the way over my face i then explain to her my anxiety issue and she gets a attitude. Not the way to deal with someone that for one . Cant swallow anything with out choking . And 2 Has anxiety issues . And to act like you dont care about either one is very discouraging. For my well-being I will not be returning to this facility !!! I already have enough issues with my trust in Doctors !! And to be treated like im a desiease is not tolerable ... You people are supposed to be there to help.If you dont want to help you need to find a different Job !!!!

2021-05-23Its supposed to be for emergencies but they could care less. The check in lady is busy talking about a of her job. The security guard shouldnt even have a job as he stands at the nurses station doing nothing. I waited two and a half hours to be seen and walked out cuz everyone was standing around and didnt once even come check on me even tho i came in in severe pain. Wont waste my time again place is a joke

2020-09-27Thank you to Mid Michigan hospital in Clare. We came in Saturday (26th) because my husband was experiencing chest pains. The staff took such good care of John. Kept us informed of test results. Arranged transfer to our hospital closer to home. We have been seen for my mom’s broken hip, my tooth ache, my husbands heart attack and also for stitches. Each time we were treated so kindly. Thank you to the staff. You are the best.

2020-08-10Went to the hospital ER twice this week, staff was slow moving and unprofessional. I was hooked up for an EKG when my wife noticed someone elses blood on the machine and connectors. The nurses cleaned that and apologized. I told the doctor when he came in and expressed that I wasnt feeling safe or comfortable and would like to be discharged to go somewhere else and he responded with no problem man Ill get your papers and you can bounce. WOW way to treat a patient also a combat veteran. Never going here again.
