Havent been paid for work we did there in over a year. Company has given us the runaround and given multiple stories about changing employees. They agreed to pay after going to court, still never sent a check and wont respond to emails from the court. Ressco is absolutely the worst company to work for as a contractor. They never pay their bills!
I have been a tenant here for 3 years. I have seen an amazing change in management in the last year. The maintenance staff is very friendly and they work quickly to get things fixed as soon as possible. The girls in the office are awesome! They are all so nice. The hallways and buildings look so much better now that they have new carpet and paint. I love my apartment!
Terrible place to live in. Ive had a low water pressure for months now and have called maintenance countless time but they keep say they will come fix it but never show up. Pool has never been opened but each Sumner theyll tell you they worki g on it and it will be opened soon. Fir 3 years now its not been opened. Theres dog poop everywhere on the lawn and walk path. Reported several times to the office it took them several months to solve the issue. All they know to do is increase the rent.
Ive lived here for 5 months and I regret it more and more each month. The leasing agents were completely unprofessional when we were trying to find an apartment. Made us settle for something we didnt even want. The stove was leaking gas 2 months into moving in, maintenance took weeks to fix it, with me having an infant! Leaving the apartment one day, the door closure falls and hits my boyfriend in the back of the head!! Only held up with two bolts! What if that would of fallen on a child?! Air conditioning makes loud screeching noise, my apartment got up to 85 with it being 104 outside! Never able to fix air conditioning. I don’t recommend anyone live here!!
I applied for an apartment here and payed $200 down. I was never contacted. I called and They told me to sign the lease 3 days from when i called. I was told to sign a lease bond before I signed the lease. It was never sent to me despite me calling multiple times until 3 hrs before I had to sign the lease. Treasure the leasing agent was rude and lied to her managers about the reason why I was never contacted. I ended not signing because of how unresponsive and rude management is. They took $200 from me and never reached out.
The last several months in this apartment has been just horrible. We have had issues with the plumbing. Toilets, Kitchen sink and bathroom sink keep getting stopped up. The hallway areas are not clean. One apartment has flooded so much until the hallway carpeting is wet and when you walk in the building it smells like mildew. I am sure there are many violations. I have called for service and they only do quick fixes instead of taking care of the real issue. I was promised that work would be done but I do not feel I should call to remind them as they know what needs to be done. They sure as hell make sure they get their rent on time. I will be taking further actions contacting the proper authorities because this is bad for my health as well as my child. I would not recommend this property to my worse enemy if I had one.
Worst apartment complex! Moved in in March. And had nothing but issues! Reported a water leak in my shower in June. When I called after hours the guy on call took over an hour to call me and asked if it was still leaking I said no the people above me are not showering anymore and he tells me well it’s not an emergency someone will be in to check in the morning. No one came. Leaked again the next night and on call maintenance never called. It took me demanding the front office to get it fixed. They stopped the leak by never fixed my ceiling. Was told it would be fixed once it dried out. Submitted a few work orders and they just marked the work completed. I’ve been living with mold since June and I just moved out I couldn’t take it. Was not acceptable living conditions
I have lived in 5 apartments in last 5 years, and hands down, this is THE WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX ever. Now, I have never written a negative review about anything, but I think this!!, deserves one. Here are the reasons:1. The Maintenance staff is a joke. Do not expect your issue to be resolved during your stay. They are rude, they leave everything unorganized and full of filth. You are then responsible for not only fixing the issue as you are the one who is suffering, you also get the honor to clean the filth they leave behind. The heat in my apartment is mostly out, and guess who takes $40 out of my bank account very month for heat? Recently they came in, clogged my bathroom sink for no reason, leaving the filth behind. No need to attach a picture, the words would have painted the picture in your head already.2. The Leasing Office staff is not necessarily bad, but they are unapologetic about anything that is happening to you. They recently lost my check which resulted in an eviction notice issued to me. Usually, an apartment office is kind enough in letting you know if you missed a payment thru call/email, but instead, they chose a different path. In the end, I had to pay for their lawyers, that too for their sheer negligence.I chose this apartment complex because it was the cheapest around. But believe me, I regret every second of it.Note to Newburgh Square: Do not reply to review with your empty promises and superficial sympathy, just get the job done.
Ive been here for 20 years. The new management goes above and beyond here. The girls in the office are just peaches! Brittany always follows up with me after maintenance comes to my house. Ive seen a lot of companies in my time here and they have the best customer service. I feel very taken care of here and Ive just signed to stay for another year. Thank you for making my stay here so wonderful.
These are the most ghetto apartments for the price. They have locks on the outside doors that dont work. The pool has not been open for 2 years. Bathroom and kitchen need serious work. Laundry area often goes down. Emergency service is terrible. How many times do you need to call about no heat before they come out. I am now on my 7th call. I suggest you look somewhere else.
Can we just all sign a petition to get better maintenance? You wouldnt believe the stockpile of issues were having!!Both toilets dont flush properly... They were supposed to come fix them. Still waiting...Tub needs reglazing... Still waitingTub is broken... We can only take showers. We asked that the portable (yes, PORTABLE) dishwasher be removed... Still waiting. The hot water pressure is abysmal!! Sink in second bathroom still leaking after it was fixedWeve lived here almost 9 years and never once was the carpet cleaned (in the high traffic areas... Per agreement with renewing the lease), its never been repainted, and the rent constantly goes up! We havent even received an offer for upgrades! So, essentially were paying upgraded rent for a non upgraded apartment. And the kicker... The refrigerator went out Friday evening/Saturday morning and everything spoiled. This refrigerator already leaks and the magnetic strip is cheap, now the thermostat stopped working. Theres a gap in it where air can escape so, the refrigerator needs to be replaced altogether IMO. Its Tuesday... Still waiting.Update 1/19/18... Still waiting. My mother wont be renewing her lease. No one should have to live like this.
Do not move here! It doesnt even deserve one star. A couple days after moving, youll notice problems and issues within the apartment that they didnt fixed. They do a quick fix and never actually fix the issue. I transferred from one building to another because of the condition of my building and apartment. Its no better. My apartment wasnt cleaned when i moved in and neither was my last one. I asked and told the office and management REPEATEDLY since March about the hanging panels that constantly bang and scrap against the building by my bedroom window and even above my childrens window to be removed. All i been getting is were working on it. Still? Since March. Im fed up. This isnt Including the roof above me that is badly damaged. I expressed my concern about this as well but they dont care. All of my counter tops and bathtub werent glazed when I moved in. AND Im still waiting for in to be glazed! My tub is getting worse. I really want this taken care of at least. Its not safe for my children when they need to take a bath. Im tired of having to remind the office over and over again. I even have left notes for the manager about it. I also received the wrong fridge and stove and still waiting to hear back from the office. Its been a week now. At this rate, all of this will still be the same till my lease is up.The new carpet and flooring are either very loose or coming up in areas. A big section of flooring in my kitchen was peeling up and maintenance solution to fix it was to glue it down. Even to the paint job. Areas are not done and theres numerous drops of paint that were never cleaned up. It was like this in the last apartment i was at here. I too moved into an apartment with wet paint. I also couldnt closed or open my bedroom and bathroom doors. Some are still not the greatest to open and close. Maintenance came to sand most of the doors but left unpainted sides to all of the bedroom doors and bathroom doors, including black marks on some of the doors and counters.Ill deal with this not being done. But my family has never felt safe living here. The door to my building still hasnt had a door knob on it well over a year now. Maybe even longer. Theres NO intercoms here. The apartment intercom and door buzzer to the buildings havent worked for years now from what I heard from residents who been here a lot longer. People can come in as they please. And you cant buzz no one into the building if you wanted. The room where the washer and dryer are located is not the cleanest. And water leaks out constantly from the washer so you are always stepping into water when your loading or unloading the washer or dryer. The list goes on. From what Im paying for a gold level 2 bedroom apartment, there isnt NOTHING gold about it with all these problems and serious lack of care. Please save yourself the headache and do not move you or your family here.
First of all, the office employees dont seem too knowledgable about any of the rental questions my fiance had. He applied for an apartment, gave them the $35 app fee, they asked of he wanted to wait, he said no, they said they would call by 6 p.m. He received no call. The next day he called to inquire and was told he was denied, but they wouldnt give a reason over the phone. He had to take more time out of his schedule just to drive to the location and be told it was because he had too many open credit accounts and they decided that they didnt want to put stress on him figuring out who he was going to pay. I believe that you pay your living expenses first and is up to each individual, they had zero idea if he was in settlement agreements with any creditor, or in the middle of filing bankruptcy or what the deal was. He asked if he could have someone cosign on the lease and they told him that it would be another $35 application fee. They didnt work with potential renters in the slightest, they didnt try to offer solutions to the denial, they just took $35 bucks, denied him and then wasted his time and gas just trying to figure out why.Steer clear of this place please. I see in other reviews, this location took peoples deposits. He was also told their would be a deposit to hold the apartment. I havent ever heard of a complex wanting a deposit to hold an apartment. Especially when they had none available until mid January. If someones app is accepted, they should just be expected to pay whatever total to move in on the date offered. It seems to me they have no availability on spaces, but accept applications nonetheless and deny based on reasons that honestly, management should be encouraged to work around with the renter. Especially when the renter makes more than 3 times the rent. 👍
This is absolutely the worst apartments I’ve ever stepped into in my entire life. First it started with dirty water from the floors above us coming up through the kitchen sink so badly to the point we had to get moved into another unit. Then the same thing happens to our new unit except now it’s coming up through the bathroom sink and it’s flooding out of the bathroom onto the carpet in the kitchen. Don’t even bother calling the maintenance phone number or send a email because they don’t respond to either. The water issue was going on for weeks until they decided to quick fix it after the whole counter tops started to spit because of such water damage and was growing mold. Did they put us into a new unit ? No of course not they just got rid of the water and put a fan to dry the carpet. Didn’t do a single thing for all the mold which we currently still have. Not to mention the soft spot in the wall behind the bathroom door which means there’s a leak coming from somewhere that we are unaware of. Then also we had no A/C ALL SUMMER LONG when we were getting days hotter than 90 degrees. Then of course winter comes and guess what no heat either but we sure are still getting a heat bill as if it’s working. They finally fix that after sending multiple emails and getting sent to a voicemail that is full. Oh and we are still paying for a unit with a dishwasher but the unit they moved us into doesn’t have one. Now they are trying to charge us for car ports when we don’t even have a door knob on our building door so anybody can come in as they please. This entire place is a complete joke and we cannot wait to get the hell out of this place. We WILL be getting the city involved if the leaking problem for the second time doesn’t not get resolved in a timely manner. Places like this make us never want to live in another apartment ever again.
Very unprofessional and there’s no maintenance . Our bathroom tiles are broken from last 7 months , even after complaining several times , nobody came down to repair it. Kitchen sink is mostly clogged and it takes couple weeks for them to fix it. The staff is very rude , we call them every day to request to fix the kitchen sink but there’s no action taken by them on our request. There’s no use of moving to this place , its expensive , there’s no maintenance , it takes weeks for them to solve any issues, very unprofessional and rude.
DONT MOVE HERE! I moved to this property when It was Scottsdale Apartments 5 Year ago. My family needs community & kids need there friends to play hence we lived there almost 4.5 years. During stay, Had some small issues but was manageable. But after I moved out & even after all things clear. Management did not given me back my security deposit. They even dont have proper reason. Letter I received saying, They did not received deposit from me. I given all proofs. This is not happening only with me. My many friends also not getting deposit back and getting different reasons from management. To save our hard earned money, Please stay away from this property.
I have been living here in one bedroom for 4 years, recently transferred to two bedroom in the same community. Treasure from leasing office is very friendly and she helped me transfer to 2 bedroom. The maintainence team is good too, they quickly responded to our requests.
We live here from last 2/1-2 years there is no maintenance for any problems. My washroom tiles are broke from last 8 months many time we go to complaints for fix my bathroom tile But nobody hear about our problem and not fix till now. And our kichen sink is over flow back water in kichen from last week We complaint many time but no result and leasing centre staff is too rood.
Where do I begin? At first, the office staff seem eager to help you. I gave these theives a hypothetical move in date and was told that they would be creating an apartment for me since I wanted the Platinum one. First, I was bamboozled into thinking that the only NON REFUNDABLE fee was the 150 security deposit. So I went ahead, trusting them with my MONEY and livelihood and put down a holding fee for an apartment they DIDNT even have. I did that with an understanding that the only fee that I wouldnt get back was the 150. Then, my move out dates changed and I had to get something sooner. I called to let them know and they pretty much told me that I will not be getting my holding fee back because its a non refundable deposit. Thats 350 dollars that they keep for themselves, all before you even get a chance to see the place. LET ME REMIND YOU, THEY NEVER HELD A UNIT FOR ME. NEVER EVEN SHOWED ME ONE LIKE THE ONE I WANTED. These people are absolute crooks. They find ways to collect peoples hard earned money, with no regard to anyone. Ive tried contacting corporate for an entire week, with no response at all. My only option to get my money back is to wait until the last day of June for them to get an apartment ready, even though I stressed the importance of having something SOONER! I am so utterly disgusted and absolutely betrayed by their lack of humility. The place is a disaster, the apartments are ridiculously small and you pay an extra couple hundred dollars for LIGHT FIXTURES. Trusting them was an absolute mistake and I am so disappointed because I truly expected so much more from them. They lost NOTHING. they pretty much charged me 200 dollars to walk in and take a hard inquiry on my report. NOTHING to show for it. I am in the process of filing a claim with the better business bureau and also taking it a step further to small claims court to have their policy changed. There was no loss for the company by my needing a place sooner, which they couldnt provide. So why should I pay for a service I never received? I will be posting reviews often to continue the search for a better service and to hopefully prevent anyone else from experiencing this type of inhumane, selfish, money scam.
I really had a terrible experience with the office staff (Treasure). She sounded really sweet on the first day when i went to look at the apartments. I signed up on the same day even though she has not given me a definite move in date. They verbally promised me that i would get my apartment in 3-4 weeks.Forget about the apartment i have not even received a phone call on my move in date. I visited their office couple of times Treasure said the apartment was not ready yet and would get back to me on the next day. I waited for a week and never heard from them so i called them back, she asked me to come over on the same day with out a heads up. She told me that if i do not show up on the same day i would loose my $200 deposit and the apartment. Even though i was busy at my work i took some time and went to the office to do all the paper work. She didnt even show us minimum courtesy and was very rude with me and my friend who came to help me out. She said that she was doing a favor and when i asked her how is it a favor for me, when I was the one who waited for the apartment 4-5 weeks and was patient even though she never called me back or sent an email and when i signed up on the same day just believing her verbal promise. In addition, she asked me to pay $175 bond agreement (non-refundable) which she never told me when i was signing up for the apartment or should put a deposit of 2 and half month by their attitude i can easily tell that i will never get the deposit back (I have seen some reviews where they never got the refund). When i asked her these were not the terms which we discussed during my sign up she rudely said that i still have a choice not to take the lease.Am fine with the bond agreement i was ready to pay, i understand it might be some apartment policy rule. My issue was not with money, it was with the attitude shown to the tenants and this was before moving into the apartment. When i was at the office i saw one tenant complaining on the AC (Tenant was saying that her AC wasnt working in the apartment for a month and no one had shown up at her place to fix it even though she complained several times)After all this bitter experience i finally decided NOT TO MOVE IN to this apartment.I strongly recommend not to Move into this apartment. You will only hear a bunch of lies on the first day and they will definitely make sure that you regret your decision if you move in.After reading few posts Zheni Cherneva had the same experience. This people are thieves, i had a Hard inquiry and lost $200 and my time. Bunch of liars, even though they do not have an apartment they take you for a tour get $200 from you and will make you wait or behave rudely with you and force you not to choose the apartment so they dont have to give you $200 back. A very cheap strategy. I have not even heard a single apology from them.
These people got some nerve. My boyfriend and I applied on June 12th, paid our $70 application fee, and Treasure told us she was gonna give us a call back by 5pm. I ended up calling back and she said “if you dont hear from me by 6, you’ll definitely hear from me Monday”. Well, that Monday came and still nothing. Actually, to this day we still haven’t got a call back from them. But its all good, we found a really nice apartment with some great customer service who called us back the same day like they said they would. If Newburgh Square wanted $70, they could have just said that. Their bedrooms aren’t even big enough for them to act like that.
I was in process to apply at the apartment. I admit that I am new in Michigan but the paperwork to fill out was ridiculous. Just to be approved ...Twenty page of questionnaire. OMG ...it seems I am applying for a job as the president secret service. Later I have witnessed that an applicant has to sign 50 pages (!) to sign the lease.I was interested in a one bedroom apartment it was $675 now since the new management was introduced it increased the rent to $775. I checked it out is looks crappy and not maintained. I am shocked about the greedy behavior.I have a global view.I lived in many countries and rented many apartments but nowhere I felt that civil rights are so violated than with that company. They behave like rich aristocrats, they dictate their rules.Anyhow I refuse their offer. There are other apartment owners out there which have social dignity.
I moved in to an apartment with wet paint, and no working AC. The management seems to not care, and strongly denies the problem even exists. I have a few more days left this year to be hot, then the relief of winter will hit. Who knows what will happen in the spring when the temp rises again. They have maintenance that has left my door open after leaving while no one was home, and has shown zero knowledge of what they are talking about. Maintenance has shown up in sweatpants and a worn out hoodie on emergency hours and normal hour opperation. They dont answer their phones very often. They gave me the wrong keys upon move in, all the windows require the strength of Thor to open and close. The building Im in has an unresolved ant problem, my original move in was delayed due to poor scheduling, one particular office attendant is the rudest person Ive met in a long time, despite being quite nice to start with (until I began to bring up issues), long story short: I CANT WAIT TO MOVE OUT. Dont make the same mistake I did, read the reviews and make a decision accordingly. i never leave google reviews, I made an account just to leave this one. I also misspelled my name on the profile but I dont care enough to fix it.
I wish I could give this community a negative score. Really Old apartment, scheduled a pest control but no one comes, They said they will have a maintenance and guess what, I am home all day and no one showed up. Also leasing office employee are really rude and didnt even cares about their residents concern. No wonder why every one give 1 star, I am definitely will move out once lease end and hope people who read this review think carefully about whether they should move in and suffer these..
NO STARS ARE WARRANTED!! This property is managed by the far most unprofessional, unkempt, unresponsive, irresponsible staff I have ever had to conduct business with. I moved out last month, thank God my lease was term, but my kitchen sink had been backing up with sewage for weeks. The supposed snake of the drain that was done rendered no solution. Anytime anyone ran the washer machine which was across the hall from my old unit, the kitchen sink would back up with black, smelly sewage. My energy bill was quadruple the amount due to having to have the windows open from the smell. It sink eventually overflowed and flooded the kitchen and soaked the carpet and everything. Emergency maintenance was not dispatched out so over the weekend we had to endure this mess. The only solution they could offer us was to stay in a one bedroom apt, when wewere living in a two, until another 2 bedroom was available, which would be a downgrade from what we had, with older cabinets and such for $120 more a month AND we would have had to sign another lease in order to be moved without moving assistance, treating the one bedroom like a hotel. But since our lease was up at the end of the month, my family had to endure this mess until our new place was ready because RESSCO management of Scotsdale Apts was too cheap and inconsiderate to accommodate us properly as the good, on time paying tenants we were> Awful place. The pool has a crack in it. The wont hold packages at the office. The parking lot will have you replacing parts on your suspension system and tires very often. I could go on and on. Terrible place to even consider!
So unprofessional, no communication. Its been over a month now. I was never contacted by Treasure on wether or not I got approved; after she told me several times that she was waiting on her supervisor. Obviously I wasnt approved and thats fine but a phone call, email, letter, text message; something would have been nice, especially since Im looking for a place to live. This is not a game. All these bad reviews, everyone basically saying the same thing, about this same employee and no changes are being made. It makes you think....
Hey guys !! I love my apartment! I just renewed my lease for the 5th time and the new leasing staff are awesome !!! I have had maybe 3 maintenance request and they have all been resolved rather quickly. Oh I am also excited for the events they are planning to this coming year I was talking with the leasing staff they are planning events!!!! I was so excited to hear that and to be involved yay !!
Update: June-2019 - MOST AC DOES NOT WORK AND TAKE MONTHS AND MONTHS AND NO FIX DATE. As mentioned in other reviews, Do not move this place as most of the apartment AC does not work. Lot of people without AC for last SEVERAL months and management never bothers to fix the AC. When ever maintenance tickets are created for AC they say it is not emergency. Even for non emergency we are waiting for answers and no signs of fixing.SWIMMING POOL CLOSED FOR LAST 2 YEARSNO MAIN DOOR CALLING BELL / BUZZER SINCE LAST 3 YEARSVERY DIRTY BASEMENTSBROKEN SIDE RAIL SUPPORT FOR OLD PEOPLE CLIMBING, BROKEN IN MOST BUILDINGS.BIKE PARKING IN LAWN WHILE KIDS PLAY GET $25 FINE.Good note: New maintenance people are pretty good listening and fixing issues, Other friends have feedback that some small issues these new folks fix issues pretty fast,Not sure about the AC while it takes so long long time.
By far the worst apartment I have ever lived in. You pay way to much money for the apartment and service that you are receiving. The rent continuously increases. The apartment is outdated and repairs are never made. I have recently moved out and was counting down the days until my lease was up. Now I am waiting to receive my security deposit back which has been a complete hassle. I was never called to do a walk through like I was told and no one in the office is answering the phone. When I moved out I was told thirty days and it has exceeded that time. So now I am forced to go up there. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. The only positive thing I can say about the apartment is the community atmosphere.
Worst apartment complex to live in. First month of living there I had so many issues with the shower drain, the garbage disposal, bathroom lights had an electrical problem. Maintance takes forever to come and fix the issues. Sidewalks dont get salted till the next day and by that time it doesnt need to be salted. My car roof was salted as well and it was under the car ports so you know it was on purpose. Unprofessional and very expensive to live in a crappy place. one set of washer and dryer.... save your money and find somewhere better. Not worth the money. Save yourself and dont move in.
Looking for a new place can be a headache until finding that right place just makes life easier. I work in sales and professionalism is everything to me. My sister was looking for a nice place with a great environment and after working with Rodrick the greatest leasing agent!, finding the right apartment never felt better for her! He was very detailed and patient, if my sister doesnt rent there my girlfriend and I just might ourselves!!
I lived nearly 5 years in this place, earlier Management was good, the new management Ressco horrible in terms of maintaining, responding. I moved out on Jan 5th as of now my rental deposit check not yet sent. I got the letter but No one is answering for the phone calls/emails, I asked my friend to visit and inquire it No use. I am not sure whether they will give the rental deposit balance back or not?? Is this the way they run the business??
- July 2017: Ressco Mgt purchased this community from Beacon Mgt. At 1st I was a little sceptical about the change. BUT Ive had a change of heart. I see that they are making improvements to the community and fixing the problems that Beacon Mgt left behind. Not everyone on the staff is rude. Theres a young man in the office whos really nice (cant remember his name) and the Manager Erica is a God send. Shes one of the sweetest most thoughtful person Ive met.....- 7/16/18: (I only made this post to please the Manager Erica at the time, and no sooner than I made the above post she was no longer employed.)-7/16/18:Ive changed the post over and over again, but not this time. This is the worse place Ive ever lived. Trying to talk to the staff or get (maintenance) to help is like asking for a kidney! Glad to be moving out 7/31/18!!!Pool is not open!Workout rooms are just okay...better than the pool area! The grass has not been watered in 2 years. The tub drain stays backed up, but they want to charge a fee to come and unclog the drains of their property when Im sure that they know the plumbing sucks!About 2 years ago my bathroom sick got clogged up. Maintenance came to fix it, however, they made a mess of my clean bathroom. They had what looks like mold from the clog smeared all over my bathroom floor, in my sink and in my tub (AND NO THET DID NOT CLEAN IT UP). The Manager Erica at the time gave me a $30 gift card to Meijers, after I showed her the picture of the mess that they made. The lighting in the community and the buildings is little to none. So you do not feel safe walking around the complex at night because you cannot see anything. And they have roaches!!!!!!!!!!!!If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is not worth it! Take you money to another complex who will do something about your complaints.
The apartment model they showed to us was totally different than the one we got, and it supposed the new apartment should be ready to move in, but no it was not, we have to do a lot of clean work before we start moving in. When we arrived to the apartment I reported some issues that have to be fixed but it is 2nd week by now and nobody of maintenance guys has show up, I called the office and there is a girl who answer in a very rude mode than now I feel scare to call again, it sounds funny but it is true. I guess I gonna start fixing my apartment issues by myself. It is my first 2 weeks here and let see what else is coming up but to tell you the true Im ready to move out as soon as my lease contract ends. Think about it and double check before you decide to move in this place. Today is July 2015.
Unprofessional as ever, signed for a apartment may 16th put 200 dollars down for a one bedroom, supposed to get the one bedroom June 17th. Well here is June 17th and I know nothing received no welcome package email know nothing. I call 3 times a week for the last month trying to inquire details all I get is promises from a secretary. She called me the 7th and told me I’d be moving in on the 10th? I call back on 10th and it’s not ready, call today not ready am told this Friday it will be ready let’s hope so!!!!
Came to the open house that was advertised online. The 1 bedroom that they have to look at is furnished and gave me a good base to look at set up wise. The girl that showed me around was very friendly and even took me over to the back of the complex to show me the volley ball area. I didnt apply yet because my lease doesnt end until August. I will be back though!
Came across Newburgh on Facebook and decided to go take a look. The staff is EXTREMELY inviting and they make you feel welcome from the time to walk through the door. The office itself is stunning and the clubhouse looks great! On top of the typical pool and park I discovered they have a tennis court, volley ball nets and a little gym. Over all the girls in the office left a wonderful impression for me and my wife. We will be moving here at the end of April, I will surely do an update after we get settled!
Look, i was thinking the same thing you might be. Maybe these reviews are incorrect, maybe its just someone mad at the landlord or whatever, i can assure you this is not the case. This is my absolute first online review as i have never cared to take the time to make all these accounts just to say something but this place has driven me to do so. This has to be the worst place i have ever had the misfortune to call home. the service is unacceptable and utterly rude, the maintenance, or lack of, is terrible. my building has been missing its side panels for a few months now. the management has different employees every couple of weeks for no apparent reason, Ive been in for help and to discuss miscommunication issues and simple things that could be fixed easily and was just rushed to the next person over and over just to receive the response of i cannot help you or im sorry, i dont know for simple things that should be known, like the address of the company that owns this place. Every bad review on here that i once thought was overboard or incorrect could not have been more true. Do yourself a favor and skip looking over this place. They cannot get anything correct as its now the third month of them having my old roommate on the lease when it was switched. I have had to pursue legal actions to get anything done. The only good thing i have to say is that when my fridge went out they were quick enough to get me a new one the same day, other than that i have had nothing but a terrible experience with this place and urge you to look else where. I could go on and on about my experience here and i just hope you take the time to read this before you sign a contract here, as you will regret it in the future as i have. I am counting the months until i can leave this place.UPDATE: I have talked to management and they were pleasantly polite and courteous. Will continue to update constantly when I get more info. For now bumping up a star.UPDATE: things have not changed, but gotten worse. I have had no ac since Nov 2016 and it doesnt look like that will change as now two appointments to look at it were a no show as well as the roofing never being fixed. Bumping down a star.UPDATE: this is now the third time this month things have been stolen from me here, today my truck was broken into with my things scattered everywhere, 2 weeks ago my bikes were stolen. Its pathetic, this area is for rude and distrustful people. I am not the only one whos things are being stolen, obviously this place attracts scum and theives. Please do yourself a favor and do not move here, at least without a security system in everything.UPDATE: well now for a third time in a couple months there is a new property manager. As well as raising utilities the day they were due then backdating the paperwork posted on our doors to the day before, are you kidding me ? The siding is still ripped off from April and the roof is still uncompleted, after 2 months there has been loads of shingle just left on the roof. This place is pathetic and I cannot 2ait to leave this hole.UPDATE:still missing roofing/siding. How can they be so neglectful? Broken benches sence god knows how long, and I continually see people moving out. Theres a porta potty thats been there for months now. The list goes on and on. Also, they had the pool open for about 2 weeks, then drained it and left it to collect rain water. So much for a pool pass when most tenants still had no running a.c.. Theres been this weird liquid lotion like stuff smeared all over the windows and walls in the hallway, I reported it twice and now its been there for 3 months. Crusty and yellow. These things have to be illegal somewhere.UPDATE: you know whats cool? Getting charged rent, after you moved out, after the contract ended, then calling 3 times with no answer. Just please go elsewhere.
So far my stay here has been really great, I moved in January. I have had a few maintenance requests as the apartment was vacant for a while and every one has been solved within the week sometimes even the next day. The ladies at the office have been fantastic especially Melanie who has been nothing but quick and effective with everything while being a total sweetie. I can tell they are really trying to push community building here with valentine making events and donut and coffee drop ins. Compared to other apartments I was looking at (in the nearby Plymouth/Canton end of Westland) this was the best deal for the cost of rent. Other places in the area that appeared to be cheaper had a million extra fees while Newburgh was up front about everything from day one. Overall this is a place I can see myself living at for the next few years until another adventure strikes!
I have lived here for 26 years and the new owners are the worst. They keep turning off the water for hours and days, dont even knock on doors to let you know--do they know if your in the shower or need your water? I dont think they care. They also continue to stack furniture outside for months on end why? This is just two things they do among others which upset residents. Why cant they seem to get their act together?
I have lived here since before the new management took over. I can tell you this is the best team in the office. Brittany has went above and beyond to resolve any issues I have.Melanie and Treasure are so funny and friendly. It really is a great environment and i look forward to staying longer!
Like everyone else has said before me..DO NOT MOVE HERE. Save yourself the time and energy and look elsewhere. RESSCO is absolutely the WORST management company. They are so unprofessional, dont ask them a question about the contract you are signing because they wont know how to answer. Dont ask for any maintenance to be done because they will forget to put in a request for you. The grounds arent being taken care of, neither are the buildings. The garbage in the laundry rooms are overflowing, mind you there is only one washer and dryer per building, and the carpets in the hallways havent been vacuumed in months. Cannot wait to move out.
Dear inquring tenants run and never look back! Ive been living in Westland for the past 6 years. Out of the 6 years Ive been a Westland resident I lived at Newburgh Square/ Scottsdale for 1 of them. It was by far the worst apartment Ive ever lived in. The office staff was extremely rude and barely answered the phone. Maintenance sucked horribly and was very short staffed. Everything in my apartment was literally hanginger by a nail, old and out dated. Let me not forget to mention that you have to give a 3 months notice on wetter your going to renew the lease (which we werent aware of) so they made us pay for an extra month after we had moved because they said we waited to late to inform them. Its definitely not worth the price. I was so happy when my lease was finally up, even they changed the name its the same old run down place. I wish I could rate this place a 0 but its not an option.
Didnt fix the DOOR BUZZER for over TWO YEARS! and they started to charge carports now, the funnest thing is that they have more carports spots than cars that residents have.... so they just want our money but e we get nothing, i have monitored my apt and I didnt see maintenance guy come into my apart when they claimed they did the regular maintenance that week, please please dont move in here, we are desperate to move out once the contract ends. :
So I was supposed to move into my apartment on June 6 but that didn’t happen. At the time of signing the lease they still hadn’t finished the apartment. The carpet was being laid down so I wasn’t even allowed to go in the apartment and look at everything. I went back 2 days later and the apartment still wasn’t finished. The guys who laid the carpet down didn’t clean up their mess, there were pieces of carpet everywhere on the floor. I opened the one closet and there was garbage all over and there is gum stuck to the floor. I went into the 1st bathroom it looked ok until I opened the cabinet under the sink. There was a huge ass puddle of water (at least half an inch) on the cabinet floor. Went into the shower and turned it on and the faucet leaks and the tub was filling up with water and wouldn’t drain. The shower head is basically hanging off the wall. Went into the master bathroom and right away there was a huge puddle of water on the floor almost covering the entire floor. The sink in that bathroom leaks as well. When you go to open the window in the living room it rocks back and forth as you are trying to slide it. Same with the window in the kitchen. They promised me and my boyfriend that the apartment we were going to be living in was going to have brand new everything. Like the thermostat. They promised that we were going to have a new digital one but when I was looking at the thermostat it’s an old ass one not a digital one but one from like the early 80’s that you have to slide the thermostat to the temperature you wand it at and there is scotch tape wrapped all around it like the tape is holding it together. There is only 1 smoke detector in the whole apartment but when you look on the ceiling there are spots for 2 more smoke detectors but they have been painted over. There are pin holes all on the kitchen wall. There were pop bottle caps in the garbage disposal. All around I am not happy at all and to this day we still haven’t moved in and it’s already June 12th. And I’m paying for rent and haven’t even moved in yet! Extremely Disappointed!!!!
Scotsdale apartment are the worst management i have ever seen in my life.. they are unworthy ..they dont have fixed rules and regulations..they have a habit of loosing documents that you submit..they lost the vacation notice that i submitted and then they charged me for the an extra month money.. there apartments are filthy and the lower level stinks. All the appliance in there apartment are too old and not working properly. The blinds are rusty and carpet also stink a lot. Maintenance people are too lazy and never appear on time.. Guys if you have any other option go for it rather than coming to Scotsdale apartments. make sure when ever you submit any Document with them make sure they have updated it on your file or otherwise always ask for a copy of it or keep a copy of every form you submit.. so finally they are not a good management to deal with.. beware while signing a lease.
Derverves minus 0 stars!!! Horrible experiences with this new company!!! They raise rent but don’t use the money to maintain property... now they don’t even care about the safety of residents during the winter snow removal is very poor!! Very unsafe Icy paths left up to buildings entrances, you have to walk on the grass in order to come in the building ... the city requires snow removal and has safety ordinances and I’m sure they would be interested in the condition, continual poor conditions of this complex!!! Leaving this pace and never recommending because I care about people! Horrible apartment complex !!!!!
When I first moved in, it was fine: well-maintained, requests handled promptly, etc. It has declined substantially.Specific examples of lack of maintenance: shutters have fallen off the buildings, and not been re-hung, potholes of various sizes throughout the property, siding falling off or hanging off building, paint peeling off the building, not repainting after repairing drywall holes, concrete stairs coming apart and not being replaced. The staff is RUDE, inconsiderate and very unprofessional. They dont want to take responsibility for not following through on anything, and will pass the buck to anyone who is not in the office at the time the conversation is taking place. In my building alone, there are 4 vacant units out of 11 in the building. I do not recommend it at all. Find another place.
Moved here in 3/15/ 2015 barely. A partially acceptable place became available at the last minute. The current owner had nothing to do with some of the ills of our unit. But they certainly have much to do with the inability to address and correct any of them 2 years later. The apts first of all are designed very nicely. Two bedroom, 1.5 baths, a separate tub room...adorable. Master bedroom has a large walk-in closet, and .5 private bath with a full wall vanity counter. Love it! The units are very spacious 870sft. This has more to do with the design, because lets face it, 870sft is not very big actually, but the design makes the unit feel more like a small home than just an apartment. Now I must mention we lived here 17 years ago with our 2 boys (8 months, and 8 years old) for a year before we bought our home. So we have seen the glory days of Scotsdale (The name I prefer...classy) from what we have seen since moving in in 2015. Heres the situation: The doorbell hasnt worked since day one, the building entry doors are not secure, the common area is very seldom cleaned (Ive been tempted to do it myself just because Im persnickety about cleanliness and order) the laundry room is unattractive, dull, paint chipped basement floor, in need of fresh painting, THE LIGHTS IN THE BUILDING ARE SO DIM YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE ENTERED A DRUG DEN LIKE YOU SEE ON TV (VERY ANNOYING AND DANGEROUS), our tub room has a bulging wall BULGING WALL, (which I was told was not an emergency) I beg to differ because you can see signs of mold, Truly, if my bathroom were decent I would have no major issue with THE UNIT ITSELF, only with the other mentionables. Now for outside. Everyone knows that light deters criminal activity and promotes safety....well we have NO LIGHTS ON THE OUTSIDE OF OUR BUILDING; NONE! Pitch black, as is several of the spaces under the parking structure. Im so grieved with the lack of professionalism, security and cleanliness. One of my best friends remarked she could not believe I lived in a place like this (neither can I). I look forward to moving for these reasons. The only reason we are still here is too tired from working and taking care of our elders. So my 1 star rating has more to do with the lack of attention to some very basic, aesthetics, safety, and convenience issues (lighting, regularly vacuumed halls, unlocked doors, non-working door bells, and again I mention LIGHTING. I hope you have been enlightened. Renters beware!
Extra high fees there is a non-refundable general maintenance fee to hold the apartment of $200.00. This sounds like an administrative fee similar to what another apartment complex in Westland charges. But its only $150.00 at the other place. And what about the extra monthly fee for the water???Close to or more than $800.00+ for a 1 bedroom seems a bit high for the area (lower middle working class.) FY 2019 Fair Market Rent is $753.00 for 1 bed. in this area so maybe the higher rent keeps undesirables out, kwim?Buildings are old and rundown looking. Interior fixtures/appliances are low quality. Overall uninspiring and govt project-like feel. One star for the pleasant leasing agent.
I have a son, Grand daughter and a daughter in law living here at the Newburgh Square Apartments in Westland. I must say that this is the most awful place ever... Rent is ridiculously high and maintenance is terrible. Repairs takes forever to get addressed. Their central air hasnt worked in over a month. I hate to give one star because this place doesnt deserve it.... This is a horrible place to consider a place called home... Lord bless this owner and management team with more willingness to meet the need for our families
Bad place to live. management is really bed . place need more renovation . air condition is not working . so many time i went to office to fix my air condition but never take any action just every time make new story regarding your apartment issue . better pay little more stay at other community apartment . More other pace to stay and has better service . staff is really unprofessional .
AC stopped working from 2nd month of lease..Entire summer we stayed with out AC. Even during the lease renewal , they are not assuring me anything on the repair. Earlier they promised me to move to a different Apartment and Now, they are saying that there is no such deal we made. Worst experience
Very nice complex to live in now that it under new management called ressco. Newsburgh square is perfect for everyone if u want to deal with constant stress and anger management at how pathetic , lazy and dumb their maintenance is. Living here almost a year I manage to learn how to fix a light bulb, leak roof , switch faucet and clean the floor. Maintenance are very efficient and hard work. I called them to fix my AC in June................. now in November nothing fix. If u r planning to live here, also save 20 a month to buy Motrin and Tylenol to deal with the headache when u r dealing with these idiot and lazy staff at newsburgh square. Have a nice day and celebrate when u r able to move out like me in June.
This place is a joke. The pool hasn’t been opened in the entire year and half I have lived here. The clubhouse isn’t open either (my entire residence) the lights leading up to and to the entrance of my building have been out for about just as long. The lights on my floor have been out for over a month! I can’t see if who’s at my door at night nor see my key hole if I arrive after dark! All these I have called on repeatedly and they lie about tryin to fix them.! This place is poorly managed to say the least
This place is very unprofessional management don’t not handle business on time they lie just to get you in there then take advantage of you if your a person that likes piece and handling your business productivity this is not that place for youManagement don’t handle business effectively an correctlyThey want all that money but for what your going to be living in it’s not worth itOnly thing I did like was the neighbors in the complex they were quiet and respectful but the good people always leave after the lease is upThis company need to work on fixing up the apartments like the way they portray it online theyneed new management in the office that actually do there job and not procrastinate and lie to residentsIf I could give this place a 0 rating I would nobody want to live somewhere thats bug infested unprofessional and overpriced for so little.
Absolutely the worst management ever. My heat went out 8 times in one month and to get someone to come and fix it took an act of God. So all you people with kids that is something to think about. The staff is so ghetto its not even funny. The have a new Aunt Jemima assistant manager and she sounds so ignorant when she talks. I knew when they sent her out to do their bidding it was downhill from there. Do yourself a favor and move to Canton. Dealing with these people is not worth the hassle its like talking to a watermelon.
This is the worst apt complex I have ever lived in . The employees there are disrespectful and are liars. They are one of the worst run complexes around not too mention there are cars broken into, stolen , and just general riff raff, The leasing manager is Racist towards Blacks and Indians. They had new windows installed and the are worse than the old ones they had, The upstairs Hot water pressure lacks pressure . Please dont waste your money and rent from them
The Leasing Consultant Rodrick made the process of helping me find a place infinitely easier. He offers the highest level of professionalism and friendliness. I have to say, if the other members of the management team are anything like him, Im going to love staying here!
Overpriced and low quality. Maintenance is a joke. The apartment across the hall flooded, sewage came all the way up to our door. We complained for weeks and they never did anything it just got worse. It smelled. I don’t recommend this apartment complex, it’s run down and they just don’t care.
Conditions border un-livible. Conditions ranging from no heat, no A.C., and no lighting to emergency exits are common and takes weeks to be fixed if they get fixed at all. Management cuts corners everywhere and does not care about the well-being of tenants. Highly recommend not living here, terrible experience.
If i could give less then a 1 i would. Tried to move in back in december payed 1500 to move. 1st day there i found cockroaches every where. It was nasty as hell... Now we are almost to june and this place still has not gave me my money back... The corprate guy named omar wont even talk on the phone. Hes a lier and a thief. Good luck living here
Ive been lIving here since 2013 and I can agree that Beacon Management had some issues, but in all honesty Im willing to give Erica and the Ressco Management team a chance. The team has informed me of new and up an coming fixes to our community. Cant speak for everyone, but my experience with the new management is a good one.
Do not move here my biggest mistake was resigning my lease I wanted to move but due to covid I had no choice and let me tell you Newburgh apartment is really showing there true colors it all starts with in March I thought I had paid all my rent till I found out around July or July I didn’t get no notice or anything I had to walk in and that’s when I found out I had a late fee then I got sick and was out of work not due to covid communicate with staff that I was going to try my hardest to make my payment that was another late fee I talk with the manager he said he was going to talk to upper management about taking the one of from June every time I ask him what’s the status he says he’s working on it it’s October and still have that charge I have over 300 dollars in late fees so this month They sent a notice saying the are no longer taking partial payments i paid my rent for this month they sent it back saying they can’t take it and oh yeah slap me with another 75 late fee then they added new charges that starts in November but is not in our contract and everytime I gotta call maintenance for something it’s really to the point where I just wanna leave I don’t care about breaking my lease anymore and for them to even go up on rent is beyond me when the world is going through a crisis right now getting late fees or adding additional fees that’s the least thing they should be worried about read this reviews they are not lying and I would like to add that I’ve have been communicating with the manager and he told me as long as I can get it down to 300 I wouldn’t get a notice cause yes I did get a notice for my late fees after I paid my rent and now for this month they gave me my mom order back with the full rent that I owe for October
It is HELL not home. People in lease office are very rude not even smile at you when you go there. Common laundry stinks, they dont even know when it is going to be repaired, they dont answer if I ask the status. Common areas are VERY DIRTY. ZERO stars option not available, otherwise I would have given ZERO.
Kitchen sink and bathtub has to be painted I told the managers on November2029 that the hot water dribbles out and she saidwe know your hot water and your window screen, and your bathtub th as to be fix. Both I g done about it. they ate tryingtodo automatic leases renewal for. Rent they do not shovel snow until daylight and not on weekends, also they do not have lights around the buildings at nite
Apartments are ok I will not renew my lease the office always closes early when their supposed to stay open late our door to our building has been broken since I moved there and they keep saying we’re going to fix it and they never do it’s dangerous anyone can walk in
Okay I know the ratings have been really low the past years since Ressco was managing the complex and trust me it has been terrible. But lately they now are under a new management called LR management and the things the previous management neglected to do— you could see theres real action happening right now in an effort to fix the problems. The roads are being fixed which had potholes for years and finally the parking line markers are slowly being repainted. Trash bins are emptied always. The hallways are starting to be cleaned properly. The gas line was fixed underground just about a few weeks ago. Service requests are faster. Theyre finally gonna change our old flooring and old gas range which the previous management couldnt do with the many alibis they had. Those ones who have a difficult time calling the office before as they claim was from when the management was old and the phone number was not updated. its most likely because of that. Ive been a resident for 6 years now and I attest to seeing big changes that are undermining right now here and its rolling out slowly.... sure... but with concrete action you can really see. Of course they cant do it all in one sitting and it rests over the course of time but for sure other residents also notice that too. I just wanted to put a good review out and tell this from the perspective of someone who lives here and of course its not the case for everybody but so far so good :)
I moved in almost 10 years ago before Ressco took over. Until Ressco came in things were great, Then they were not. I am so excited to see the new management LR. Management come in and start to give our community what it needs. Its been 5 years since our pool was open and they came in and fixed it right away. They are doing everything they can to make this a wonderful property to live in again. Hello happy home, goodbye squaller, I mean Reeso

2021-09-30DO NOT MOVE TO NEWBURGH SQUARE APARTMENTS. Neighbors partying or fighting at 4 AM. Bug and rat infestation. Rude office staff. Maintenance barely gets anything done. I went 2 weeks without hot water. 13 days without heat. This place is a mess in every aspect.

2022-04-26So far so good. I moved in to a third floor unit on 10/1/2021, I did have some stuff that needed maintenance in the bathroom and kitchen and maintenance came. Also, Paul (from the maintenance staff) came and took care of the bathtub sink, he was professional and I am writing this review to commend him. Today, Paul also came and did a great job.

2022-06-22Maintenance is non-existent been 24 hours cant use the kitchen sink its stopped up and garbage disposal is not working. Call the office and they say all they can do is put in another work order. Rodeway is in horrible condition with a huge hole on the south side in the middle of Scottsdale all sewer covers are falling in. Electrical cords in the covered parking spots most are disconnected/hanging hanging trash everywhere in the parking lotNow L R Management took over. I was just told it would be 5 months for a cracked window to be replaced. SSD company.

2021-11-01CONS: If youre going to move here get a unit on the 3rd floor otherwise you can hear every step your upstairs neighbor makes. Also the water pressure is HORRIBLE. Also there is no Pool. Its at the top of their amenity list..but Ive been here since 2018 Pool hasnt worked once.PROS: maintenance comes pretty quickly to repair, love the paint job and new carpet in my apt. My AC works great. Love my neighbors too

2018-01-24Like every other comment on here the MAINTENANCE SUCKS! These are pictures of my kitchen! Ive had plumbing issues since i moved in but they seemed like they were resolved after the first work order but just a few days ago my garbage disposal was backing up/spitting up i physically went to the leasing office told them my problem the gentleman working said ill put a work oder in right now. Wake up the next day to my sink clogged and water just running out it flooded my whole kitchen floor, drawers cabinet and even went out my front door in to the hallway on to that carpet. Of course then they came right away but empty handed asking my husband and I if we had a shop vac and using our towels to soak up the water. Now in to day 3 of not being able to use my kitchen sink they replaced the garbage disposal but when i asked about replacing the counter and etc i was told they would clean it when i explained its wood and cant be cleaned they said yes it can after explaining again there is no way to clean it i asked for the owners number which supposedly no one in the office has it and was told to google it! I love my apartment but im getting really sick of the lack of maintenance! Im upholding our end of the lease but am feeling really let down by them. Hopefully Ill get some where with the main office!*UPDATE:* 6 MOTNHS LATER AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE! My neighbor across the hall also had a plumbing issue so bad they had to move to another unit but yet the unit is still flooding and the carpet is absolutely trashed! Only half the lights in the building work and im tired of wasting my breath asking for them to be fixed!***2 Months Later The Carpet Is Still SOAKING WET to the point it is now to my front door and will soon enter my apartment and when i went to the main office they were very rude the woman actually was arguing with me about the length of time it has been like that! It has been wet so long it stinks! Im sooooooo over this place their maintenance rude office staff and unresponsive owners oh yea i tried and called the actual owners 6 times and still havent gotten a call back! So if you love floods arguing and headaches this a great place to call home!

2021-07-15July 2021 the back of the building gets the worst treatment ! All 3 floors has been out of HOT water for 7 days ! The leasing office has yet to communicate or even acknowledge the issue . No call , email , or notices . Corporate isn’t answering or responding back to my emails . When I call the leasing office to speak to management regarding the issue there always in a meeting or unavailable. This matter isn’t being handle with a sense of urgency! Don’t move here !!!!

2017-06-15Warning, this review will be long, but I promise its worth the read. Future tenants need to be aware of the environment they are subjecting themselves to. I had the same idea as the last reviewer, that the previous reviews were just disgruntled tenants. Its true, they are disgruntled tenants, but because their landlord is a slumlord.I can’t list every issue we’ve had with the apartments because this review would be far too long. But if you should have any questions, please contact me and I would be more than willing to share my experience with the management/staff and apartments in general. Some of the more prominent issues we’ve had: our fridge did not work upon move in and took almost a week to get any sort of response. Our A/C has been out since the day we moved in (and also leaks water in between the walls), and the complex is the one who let us know about it, still not fixed (and now it’s 95 degrees outside). We live on the ground floor, our window has been broken out for going on a month now. We have a gas leak in our oven, they’ve known for about a month. The pipe under the kitchen sink busted out of the wall and flooded the kitchen, the answer when we called for help? “Fix it yourself.”The actual building flooded from the laundry room. Their fix? Pull up the carpet and place a blower under it and leave it for a week. Then, replace the carpet, but don’t fix the reason why the flood happened in the first place, so it flooded again on the new carpet. More mildew! The office will harass you as well. We have repeatedly received notices regarding a marijuana smell coming from our apartment. To the point that the police have showed up at our door more than once, and told us they did not smell any marijuana. Each time the office places a notice on our door, I call the office and gently remind them that neither my husband nor I smoke marijuana in the apartment. But, heaven forbid you call and complain about the kids that run wild in the apartment building, up and down the stairs, screaming, and bouncing basketballs down the stairs. Youll be promised a notice will go out to the building, but three weeks later the issue still hasn’t been addressed. I honestly feel that management may be targeting us, for a reason unbeknownst to me.The only way anything was addressed was when I finally sent a lengthy e-mail to Faye, the office manager, stating that I would be holding future rent in an Escrow account until the repairs were made, and also attached an insert of some of the law siting what a landlord is responsible for in Michigan. Her only response was that she had called and left messages for me. She called one time, I missed the call, but I returned her call exactly 5 minutes later but she was too busy, with a client to worry about my issues and I was told she would return my call the next day, which never happened. When Ive spoken to her on multiple occasions Ive been promised a phone call back the next day, but to no surprise, no phone call. The office has actually started not answering if I call from my own cell phone, I have to use others phones to even get them to pick up the phone. She also will lie and tell you that she spoke with your significant other, but hasn’t. She’s done this on multiple occasions to us.Just for the record, I have been more than patient and kind with Newburgh Square. I am always pleasant when dealing with the office, but when my husband works outside in 95 degree weather and comes home to an apartment without A/C, without a stove to cook dinner on, without a bedroom to sleep in as now bugs are crawling in through the window that has been broken for almost a month, mildew growing in the walls, carpet soaked with water from the broken A/C unit, you have to draw the line somewhere. We have had a horrible experience with these apartments and I HOPE you heavily consider this review when deciding whether to move in or not. Spend a little bit more and move somewhere that you’ll actually want to live at and not dread coming home to.

2022-04-25Garbage everywhere! Very unsanitary, rats running around. What happened? Used to be a nice place, they should be ashamed.

2021-04-02I came very close to signing a lease with Newburgh Square but decided not to. I was constantly given the run around as far as email and phone correspondence. After $200 deposit and a chance to see a model, which was actually pretty nice but just that apartment evidently. The buildings I personally entered were pretty run down. After a few lease signings getting rescheduled a date was finally set. They directed me to sign and pay for a $350 security bond as well as schedule utilities to be turned on. I insisted on seeing the apartment before I moved in and it was terrible. It was nothing like the model I was shown. The manager explained to me, for the first time that the model was a platinum apartment which cost more and the one they were moving me into was a silver. I rejected that apartment because of many issues that I won’t go into. The manager offered to move me into a “platinum “ apartment at a discounted rate. I was very reluctant but I was already out of $550 non-refundable. When I finally got to see the supposedly upgraded apartment it was not much better and I rejected that apartment as well via email the next day. I never got a response or follow up from anyone. For the most part the office staff made a effort to be nice but could be defensive at times.Even though I am out of $550 I still feel as though I dodge a bullet. I recommend that anyone considering moving here... DON’T! But, if you do insist on seeing the actual apartment they choose for you before giving them a deposit or pay the security bond.

2021-07-20Chose another housing complex!...we are on day 12 of no hot water. No return call on maintenance request...I have called the office, off hours maintenance, texted the complex manager and called corporate. No returned call.On the 8th day a note was placed on my door they said they knew about the issue & were working on it. Still no idea as to what is happening or when a resolution is expected. On the 11th day, without notice, a little after noon, they shut off all the water off to building, until further notice, without any instructions on where to go to the bathroom. It seems we were about 5 hrs without any water - I found out the water was back on by checking the tap!About 9ish pm, on the 11th day they sent us an email that outlined the problem .confirming that there is no actual timeline for resolution but failed to share a place for us to shower or use the toilet while the water is off.Their lack of communication and compassion for their residents is appalling!
