Once Upon A Child in other cities:
Loved it! Was super organized and we got really good deals! Found some really cute items for my daughter this Fall and Winter. They looked brand new! It was my first time selling here and I am happy to say that I will be doing so every time my daughter outgrows her clothes, toys, etc.! Only down side is we loved it so much it will be hard not to come back every day!😅
Love making money selling my childrens gently used clothes. Scooping up all the top brands at nearly half of what other stores charge. Everything in there looks so nice I wonder if it was even worn. The staff was super friendly and helped carry my Totes to and from my vehicle.
We havent been very impressed with this place. We brought clothes in once and my husband refused to go back because he said the employees were loud and obnoxious- we ended up donating the clothes to someone in need, he said he would never return based solely on the employees. I returned a few weeks ago and there was a very odd odor in the store, the employees still seemed crabby and more interested in discussing their personal lives than being at work.
I took 3 totes full of clothes the sizes they said they needed and told me it would be a couple hours before they could get to it I didnt have to big of a problem with that knowing places have been short staffed and people being ahead of me but a hour after dropping them off I get a call I answer it and they hung up so I called them back thinking they where done already and they tell me no they havent even gotten to them yet I said oh ok that it was fine and then they call me 10 minutes later saying they was done and with all 3 yet I could tell when I got the totes back they only went threw one and that was just barely like they just took a few things of the top and called it good so I wont be doing service with them ever again and plan on taking my business elsewhere from now on
I’ve been shopping at OUAC’s for 7 years, and this is a good one. They’re organized and friendly and the prices are good. I think some people have expectations that they’ll earn a lot of money selling used clothes, but this isn’t the case. If you’re looking to just get rid of clothes and trade for some new ones, it’s a good option.
If i am able to, i always try and make the 35 min drive to this specific location, even though Brightons is closer for me.. In my opinion and experience, Okemos store is the best location for selling clothes; also if you spend some time looking around, you can find a lot of great brands.
Brought in clothes perfectly folded in bags as was told I could do on the website. Drove 12 miles to sell the clothes and was told that the clothes had to be in plastic containers, which is specifically different from what the website said that very morning I drove there. Was the told I should have checked for the Facebook page for more information - after checking the website that very day.
This location usually has a good selection of clothes and shoes. The problem is that they arent consistent with the items they buy. Ive bought clothing or shoes from them that got worn once and when I took them back to sell they wouldnt accept them. They have turned away some items saying they were too worn then I go shop and find clothing more worn than what I took to them. It makes me wonder why its okay that they accept some very worn items but not others.
A waste of time nonetheless confusing because I had brought in totes are a few gallons bigger( not huge) and an older woman working there said they don’t take those totes they need be like the ones they have so that it’s convenient to put on shelves?,but the other store in west Lansing does?!? How does that make since? Does each store have different rules? No where on the site that I seen have tote rules, but I can go all the way to west Lansing and they’ll accept mine? Aren’t the policies all the same? Condescending woman, I will never give my business to this store again. Overpriced used clothes that I can buy brand new at target/Meijer/ Walmart. Pitiful business manners.
Dont waste your time trying to sell here, theres always some reason why they arent buying. I used to love coming here and shopping for my little one. Their staff was always nice and their items were as well. For the last few months, ive drove over an hour to get here and they always say sorry, we arent buying today for this or for that reason. There is never anything posted stating this before hand. Its become such a headache and inconvenience that im just going to donate all of my daughters stuff. They obviously dont care about their customers or their customers time.
Very disappointed. Stuff is over priced. I was looking for an exersaucer they had thiers priced for 50.00. I could get a brand new one for less than that amount. Its nearly impossible to get around the store with a child in a stroller the ailes are very small way to much stuff in the store to walk around and look at things comfortably without a stroller.
Works like a kids toys and stuff exchange. Who really needs new plastic, or the welcome wood line of things? We wont, and this goes nicely in a recycle, reuse and second/community-hand direction. Keep up the great work, we will for sure come back. Well sorted, well helped. Thank you guys!

2022-04-20This location is way better than the Lansing location on Saginaw. They are way nicer and the owner of the store (I think) was very nice and explained to me why she couldn’t take certain clothes or items and explained to me my denial. Unlike the other Lansing location. They barely even look through your whole bin!

2022-04-12Most of the staff is very rude. I understand people are stressed out and places are short staffed, but if you dont know how to be respectful and polite, then maybe retail aint your thing. Also i am sure it takes longer than 5 minutes to check 3 totes full of clothes. Will be taking my business elsewhere.**Before I wrote the above review, I gave this place several chances to see if things would change, but they didnt. I havent been in there since new owner so maybe its changed.

2021-08-26Amazing. They are so kind and helpful. There is always a great selection for both my kids. Selling outgrown clothes, shoes and toys was super easy too. As long as it was just washed and in a tote they will take a look. Last time they bought 51 items and it got me $54 that I just turned around and spent in the store again haha. Highly recommend.

2021-03-06The store has a nice layout for customers to move around and see all the items for sale. Clean, well kept, and decent prices for the quality. There is quite a selection to choose from at the store. All second hand, but they are not worse for wear. Good quality items. We will return again.
