I thought I needed brakes. My van was there all day and they failed to even get it in to look at it. However, they did get it in before and of business and called and said brakes were in good shape. They advised on some things they did notice and had repairs complete next day.
Husband set an appointment for Friday at 8Am which he waited a week for to get our Vehicle expected. He was the first car to arrive and he was told they would get right on the vehicle. We called three times through out the day because it was getting late and we had to work. 4 pm we pick up the vehicle because a job that only takes a couple of hours had reached the 9 hr point. The vehicle was not fully diagnosed under the front end and they found no solution to the noise it was making on the right side of our Escalade. They charged my husband full price now we have to take the vehicle somewhere else to get it rediagnosed because they did not properly do their job. We were told it would be two weeks before they could fit us in again which is ridiculous considering they never finished the job.
Stopped in to get help with a flat tire. It was 9 am on a Friday. They turned me away didnt even come look at my tire. I was stuck in Kalamazoo on my rim. Thanks for a great experience. You guys suck! Glad I have roadside.
10 out of 10 service the guys at the front desk are very kind and help me so much with my car.
I use to really like going here but I dont think I will anymore. I had a recent issue with my car that the battery needed to be replaced and they charged me $90 for a diagnoses that there was a battery issue. When I questioned it to the representative, he said that was standard and part of the labor cost. I talked to 3 other mechanics who said that did not sound right. Also I had low air in my tire when I brought it there and the low air tire light signal was lit up on the dashboard and they didnt do anything about it or mention it, which shows how much they pay attention to the car. Maybe they had a bad day and usually they do a good job but im gonna look at other places next time.
I want to thank Greg and his employees for working on my car. They did a lot of work on it, and the price to fix my car was fair and reasonable. I would recommend anyone to get their car fix there, because they do great work. Now my car is ready for winter!
I had not needed to take any cars to them for years. It so happened that I needed quite a bit of work all of a sudden. They welcomed me back, took care of all of the issues. Advised me on next steps and put my mind at ease. I truly love them....they care about me and my family. I recommend them highly! !
Went in to have 4 tires mounted and balanced. Very professional guys at the front lobby. The whole building and front lobby are in great shape, clean, and well kept. This was my first time here but several regulars were in and out while I was waiting and they all seemed to be on a first name basis and very friendly with each other. My truck is relatively new (2012) and I thought it was in excellent shape, but they called me back to inform me that the read leaf spring was broken. Their shop-area is, like their lobby, clean and organized. They made me an estimate for the parts and labor. I called around and Otto Kihm has, by far, the best price . I am going to continue doing business with them. They even have a military discount for some parts. Over all I feel like it was a very pleasant experience and I would certainly recommend them to other people.
Best mechanics in town! They are honest and have fair prices. Friendly staff who always go above and beyond to make sure you understand what needs to be fixed on your car. Ive recommended several friends to take their cars there and they have all been happy with Otto Kihm. They also had the best price in town on new tires when I needed them.
They were rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and demonstrated racially prejudice behavior. This is the second time I experienced this poor customer service from this establishment. Not to mention I waited patiently while they held personal conversations with random people while I was there to conduct business. I would not recommend doing business with them.
They diagnosed my problem very well letting me know everything that was needed and fixed the issue I had for awhile. They were cost efficient a lot better than other places and they do great work in my opinion bunch of good people highly recommend

Just a great all around experience I got after taking in my vehicle. The prices were the lowest for the job they did. I had a bad bearing and they fixed it for half the cost other competitors were charging! The job was well done and completed in a timely manner. Thank you guys for a job well done!
I LOVE this place and have reccomended to anyone I know needing service. Months ago my car made a strange noise turns out the heat shield just needed tightening. Only cost me 25$. As a result I have spread the word my dad just brought my sisters car in which her brakes were HORRIBLE and they also did two new tires in one day. Super nice and helpful. When I brought mine in they were very nice and said it might be the heat shield or the brakes might need to be tuned a little but it doesn’t mean you need new brakes. That right there they earned my business for life. Super honest. My dad picked my sisters car up today and the estimate came in 50$ less which was awesome he then scheduled an appt for my moms car for Monday. I am super impressed they are very close to my work so even if I have to drop my car off I can walk to and from work.I would ignore the negative reviews on here...it doesn’t sound like them at all. Heck when my dad gave his name and mentioned mine they remembered me even though it was a tiny job. They’ve earned me and my familiys business for like (we have 5 cars total) cannot say enough good things about them. They’re also happy to offer advice...I have a beaten up bumper based on how honest they were with me I figured I’d ask who they would suggest for auto body. I called who they gave me and sure enough they were WAY cheaper than any estimate I’ve gotten. As soon as I can afford to fix it I will make sure they know where I got their name from
Not inviting nobody smiles. They broke a piece in my tire and made me pay for it or they said my truck wasnt drivable. Took up for their employee by saying hes been doing it for 50 yrs. He broke something else on my truck but I wouldnt go back there to get it fixed so they can break other things and make me pay for it. Maybe the guy should retire because he did a wheel alignment wrong. I took my truck to another shop the guy fixed the wheel alignment I had just payed otto kim for. So maybe the 50 yrs of doing the same job is just getting old or maybe he is getting old or his eyes because the calibration were off. So I guess 50 yrs doesnt mean anything. Theses guys are a scam do not go there they target women and whatever u go in for u will come out with more fixes then u went in for. Definitely a company to call news 3 crime stoppers on.
I took my car there to get new brakes and rotors they let me buy/bring my own parts, price was right. Although about 2-3 months later when you hit my brake the car shakes in the front on the drivers side if going fast. This is scary & will be taking it back and there yes as they will fix it as Im sure it was 6 months or a year on labor Ive taken my car there a lot . the only place in town that will let you bring your own parts (from elsewhere) and usually do great work. All the staff treated me very kind and they have no problem aknowledging their mistakes and fix them when/if they make them with no hassel. Ill be back,

A trustworthy, knowledgeable, and communicative shop that really brings you on board with what theyre repairing and why. Prices are very reasonable as well. Ive been working with them for the past few years and havent been steered wrong once.

I was introduced to Otto Kihm some years ago by a Good Samaritan when I had a flat on the side of the highway and he took stopped to help me and that’s where we went after discount tire charged a arm and a leg. I’ve been using them ever since. They have fixed a lot of different stuff me and timely as well.
My check engine and oil light came on. Otto Kihm service center took great care of me. They didn’t try and up sale me. They did an awesome job. I’m from out of town. My daughter who lives in Kalamazoo will use them.
Been here multiple times for two problems on the car Ive made very clear and have spent close to 1000$ and both problems are still not fixed. Beware of scammer mechanics everywhere. They even kept my car for two days and nothing got done, these guys are idiots. They will take your money for small pointless repairs. Im done dishing out a few hundred everytime I am there for nothing to get fixed on my car.

GF brought in her Subaru to have tires install that were purchased from TireRack. No hassle about tire from somewhere else. Also had an alignment done. Great to talk too as well. Prices are average, but thats business! Customer Service is top notch. Will be bringing my own car here in the future for jobs I cant or wont do myself.

Great auto service facility. My family has been doing business with them for over 25 years. They are always fair, professional and friendly. The technicians are very detail oriented. They get things right the first time.
Great service and great prices! The staff were friendly and explained to me what was wrong with my car. I was able to get an appointment quickly and they fixed for my car for $1,000 less than the dealer quoted me.
Good people. Had my front suspension done and a week later I started having horrid noise and poor handling, took it back in and they fixed their error and had it back to me the same day without any problems. The gentleman who stands at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, the other person who is usually sitting at the computer seemed a little disgruntled the few times I came in....maybe he isnt a morning person?
I took my car in because it was over heating. They kept it for 5 hours and told me they replaced my coolant and did an oil change and suggested I get new tires and sent me on my way (after charging me $100 - for an oil change and coolant....). The very same day my car was overheating again. I called and asked what they checked and didnt check and they said we didnt check anything after we found the coolant leak. So far I have not seen any fluid under my car. After they told me they didnt check anything related to the cooling system beyond the radiator, they offered to price a radiator and cooling fan for me - after my car was there for hours and paying for service. I will not be taking my car here again and I suggest to anyone taking their vehicle there to know EXACTLY what you need from them before you get there.
I called in trying to troubleshoot an issue with my ac to see if it was something I could handle myself. Rather than telling me to just bring it in they guy I talked to walked through the issue with me.If I cannot resolve the issue on my own the cost that he stated it would be to fix the issue was lower than anywhere else I called, so I will definitely be bringing my vehicle here based on the level of customer service alone.
These guys helped me out on multiple occasions. Very professional and worth every penny. Its good to know I have a reliable go-to for any car issues I have. Located in downtown Kalamazoo, ten minutes away from Kalamazoo College and WMU.
Honest place, straight forward communication, clear prices
They were able to quickly get my Mitsu Spyder Eclipse in. They communicated with me throughout the day and treated me as though I actually know my car - which as a woman was very refreshing. Ill definitely seek them out if I need additional work.

If I could give no stars I would! This place seemed nice at first but hell no! Never go here especially if you are a young woman they will get over on you. I would not have chose this place but AAA would only tow up to 5 miles. I paid 700 for a tune up and the car broke down on me in the middle of the street during the snow storm! The car was then towed to idk where...I am now carless and out of money. I will be working with Kalamazoo police to file a court order. Do not go here!
My best friend blew out my front 2 tires a few weeks ago. Otto Kihm Tire & Auto Service was the closest place to me- so I took my car there to be repaired. I read the reviews and it was rated a 4.4 so I thought my car will be in good hands... WELL I WAS WRONG. For the past few days my car has been making a weird noise and the steering wheel was vibrating as I was driving. I took my car to Belle Tire and they immediately asked who put my front 2 tires on. I told them Otto Kihm Tire & Auto Service and they laughed and said that my tires were not put back on correctly and that 1 of them was on the verge of falling off any given bump. Once my car was lifted up, I watched him take the nuts off BY HAND ONLY. This place is a joke. IF YOU DONT WANT TO SPEND THOUSANDS FIXING YOUR CAR BECAUSE THEY MESSED IT UP- DO NOT GO HERE.
We have taken our two older cars to O Kihm since first moving to Kzoo in 03. After probl., +25 times to see them during this 10 year span, i can honestly say that Brian always seems to have great humor. With Bob, the other Brian and all the techs, each rep. seems to be very thorough with and capable in getting our autos fixed properly and at very fair prices. Due to their integrity, i recommended O Kihm wholeheartedly.
Very competent mechanics were honest and did very good work. They also educated Us by telling us and teaching us about front end alignments.
Walked in at 1015am told them what i was hearing from my passenger side tire and that i think something like a rock was caught in my brakes. He gave me a what do you want me to do about it look.. Then proceeded to tell me the close in a hour n a half. Which is fine i get it iiifff ur busy... Then didnt even ask if i wanted to bring it in on monday or to make an appt. I had to ask him if there was anything available for monday... I went to a different shop they got me in and fixed the grinding(which it wasnt a rock but something was stuck against the rotor that was simply removed) before this shop even closed.
I took my car to Otto Kihm to see if there was any way to repair a ticking noise made by my engine. They thought it was the flywheel, while other mechanics were certain it was an engine cylinder problem. Otto Kihm was willing to put in writing that if the problem was not the flywheel, they would not charge me. A $600 job later they called to tell me it wasnt the flywheel after all, and that my car has a new flywheel in it and there would be no charge.Now, I was a bit sad that the flywheel wasnt the problem (a cheaper repair than an engine block), but they honored the agreement. Character is at a premium these days.
This place just charged my fiancee $500 and did not fix her stalling issue. They refused to let me talk to the owner and said there was nothing they could do about it until Monday.
Theyre good to me and great to my car. Can get me in the same day and have never talked me into getting work done.
Did not repair correctly the first time. Guess-work car shop. Not very willing to correct or guarantee their work. Very poor customer service. Do not care about their customers.

If your a female do not go here. They will charge you for services that you dont ask for or need. Like a $20 battery check.

2022-06-10I got stranded on the highway and towed here, they were so friendly and super communicative. When I went to pick up my car they were very easy to talk to and explained what happened and what they did. They also gave me a ton of good lunch recommendations which was a bonus! Overall 5/5 amazing service very friendly people

Nice guys working there, fair and straight forward how it should be. They show appreciation and loyalty to customers which makes it easy to be loyal in return.

2022-03-14It has been 6 days they have had my truck for a job that takes 4.5 hrs.... I dropped it off on my appointment day and time and was supposed to have it back the next day I still dont have it back... they continue to push customers who were there for an appointment to work on a vehicle that just drives in they dont care about their customers only $$$ speaking of which... the cost I was quoted increased while it has been in the shop

I have always driven older, high-mileage vehicles, and they have kept me on the road with timely repairs and fair prices.I see no reason to take my vehicles anywhere else for service.

2020-07-30I recommend Otto Kihm to everyone. They are the perfect example of great customer service and are always reasonably priced. I’m talking hundreds of dollars less than other places quotes.One example of their excellent customer service is when I got new tires put on my car there. I ended up hitting a pothole and getting a flat tire the week after getting my new ones out on. Otto Kihm replaced the tire for free.Another example of them being accommodating is they will allow you to bring your own part in and only pay for labor, which is rare to find these days.Also, they don’t play the run around game of trying to scam you to make more money. They simply tell you the truth so that you know what is going on with your vehicle. Again, so rare to find these days.Seriously, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
