We are at Davison for the week of June 13. I pool is down, splash pad is down, 2 hot tubs down. This is ridiculous! No where in the park can we get quarters for the arcade.Motorcycles and cars ride around and around playing music so load the trailer vibrates. I ask myself why am I doing this! This happens alot, Im not happy.
Very nice, with alot to do and enjoy. But we only went to Davison, MI.Unfortunately, I am terminating my Membership. My Autistic Son, for whatever reason wont go back. Nothing on the Park, everyone was great.Unfortunately, a lady in Billing told me we were stuck in a Contract with no way out, after paying over a Grand a year for two years. Well see how this plays out. Selling my Camper unfortunately. My Son is done.😁Hopefully, they dont push this. We shall see.
What a rip off. Our tour guide Joe turned from the nicest guy( when trying to sell timeshare) to aggressively nasty when you decline the offer. Front desk staff are rude as well. Dang, at least try to keep up the fake news until the guest leaves. Youre not going to guilt trip me into buying anything I dont want. $20,000
Very unorganized! We had a 7 day stay and was harassed on our 3rd day to leave because their booking agent didn’t do the booking correctly. We checked in with no problem for the dates of June 10th-June 17th. We also had our reservation number but we were told that the site was booked for someone else even though we are booked to check out on the 17th. The customer service representative I talked to was unprofessional and the Davison location representatives were clueless to everything. NOT TO MENTION ALL OF THE AMENITIES ARE OUTDATED AND OUT OF ORDER!!! The membership is too expensive for this type of treatment so never get one here !!!! UPDATE: June 15, 22 well today my husband received a call while he was at work being questioned by a employee from the Davison location stating that they were told we have no activity going on at our site. I’m so confused on why does that matter as long as we are not breaking any rules!!! I wonder did it ever occur to them that everyone can enjoy their time away from home any way they please to do so whether that’s being outside their Rv or being inside their RV! It was a heat advisory today and meanwhile we are being harassed about not having activity at out site 🤔. I’m beyond livid with this campground! AGAIN THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD WANT A MEMBERSHIP! Between all of this harassment and confederate flags at the campground we wouldn’t go back or recommend anyone either.
Very disappointing! Not enough hot water for 2 showers. Furniture was a disgrace. Dishes had dried coffee and juice in the bottom. Roads and walkways were covered with ice. No salt nor sand had been used on ice at all. Formica on kitchen counter was loose. TV did not work. Two TVs were missing. There was no WiFi in our cabin. The cabin was nothing like the model we were shown. Light bulbs were burned out. In our conference to discuss the unacceptable condition of the cabin, we were told the annual maintenance fees are going to at least double in price. This organization is built on deception.
Been working on the campground, but needs more security, was a lot of noise late at night and golf cart racing at night with radios playing loud at night, spend a lot of money to try having family time, seems like a big party, bought ice cream from the park and it was freezer burnt
Ive had two different family members who had sites here, had, past tense. Between their stories and my treatment coming the the gate as a GUEST, Ill never invest in recreation here. Im an adult, not a child, and I was invited by a paying camper. You never know if the guest will become a paying member, so they should be treated with respect.
So we went to an outdoor adventure to to go and check out what kind of package deals they had to become a member. It was an awesome experience the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful with all the amenities you dont even have to leave the property everything for the kids to do everything for the grown up to do as well! It does not cost that much as I was surprised to see. The campground is immaculate and beautiful as most of their campgrounds are, I would suggest checking out getting a membership, Im not the big private campground membership goer but for this place I would!
This is a little slice of heaven on earth. There is so much to do and try. Our first experience was supposed to be only 2 nights, we stayed for 6 nights!! Kids loved it so much that we came back 3 weeks later. Theres fishing, paddleboards, rowboats, 3 different pools, a huge lake with a swimming area, and lounge chairs with big umbrellas. Mini golf and plenty of outdoor room for kids to mingle and drive the golf carts, which can also be rented ahead of time per availability.
Cabins and campground are okay. Most campsites offer shade, but many cabins do not.Amenities are nice; pools, lake, kayaks, miniature golf, weight room, hot tubs. Its fairly clean, too.Problem is, they have over-sold memberships. There seems to be a membership package to meet everyones needs. Management definitely wants your money. The place is utterly packed in the warm season. It is not uncommon to see multiple families sharing one site/cabin. Sometimes, traffic in/out is a steady line. Pools and beaches are packed with no lounge chairs available, kayaks/golf is packed with long wait times, pools are at capacity and no place (chairs) to sit or put your things. The large groups on sites at night, happy and partying, get loud with both voices and music and security often turns a blind eye to it.So how have owners/management handled this problem? Have they ceased selling memberships to this sold out community?Ha, no. The membership drive is still the same. You see salesmen driving fresh blood around in golf carts constantly. No, their solution wasnt to stop over selling. Their solution was to charge members an admission fee. This, in addition to the thousands spent on purchasing a membership, and annual dues. Now, if you are camping there, you still get 2 parking/admission passes, but every other guest through the gates must pay. 🤨There are now as many pros as cons to Lakeshore. This is why it rates only 3 stars, in my opinion. This review is from a local member that has bought and maintained a membership since 1999.
Had a great time with my sister-in-law and her husband, shower house was very clean and kept up. However there wasnt much to do that week and weekend because of the weather we decided to go swimming in the indoor pool and the moment we got in the water it was freezing too cold for anyone. So we spend most of the time in the hot tub. Other than that it was a great weekend went locally to Frankenmuth were all had a great time.
Went for a tour not knowing anything about outdoor adventures. Seems like an amazing place for families but was taken back by the price tag for a membership. I understand there is a lot included in the membership but I dont really think its $20,000 dollars worth of stuff included. Also, after hearing the selling points it sounds more like a timeshare and not a membership which is an issue for me.
Some sites have poor runoff and you get flooded easily. We had a stretch of bad weather so werent at the campsite all the time and got red flagged for it. They nickel and dime you to death and it is certainly not worth what they charge for membership. Have talked to a lot of people that have said they had bed bugs in the cabins. Have not stayed in a cabin and dont think I ever will.
Booking is very inconvenient. Long wait times just to book the campsite. Bathrooms were not very clean. Staff was pleasant. For the amount of membership and dues you pay, there were a lot of upkeep that wasn’t done. This is a large campground so lots of people using the amenities and very busy. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay but not sure if we will be back.
Outdoor Adventures offers a lot of amenities to entice you to buy their expensive membership. Ive visited multiple resorts and they all have the same major problems- theyre all run down. The swimming pools are very unsanitary. The bath house are cleaned once a day but thats not enough. The beach was full of broken chairs & picnic tables, the grills on the beach were full of trash. The wooden docks were very unsteady & warped. Literally half of the washer/dryers were broken. Theyre severely understaffed and the Staff they do have isnt very knowledgeable, I asked a staff member when the General Store closes and they had no idea. I overheard one family trying to check in- their cabin wasnt cleaned yet so management told the family the resort would call them when their cabin was ready, the Resort closed while the family still didnt have their cabin keys. The family asked security to call the Manager and the Security officer refused. Leaving the family without a place to stay for the night. Overall if youre willing to spend significant money to camp with your family then Outdoor Adventures does offer multiple resorts but they ALL need repairs.
We really liked it here! There is a lot of things to do. My only complaint is how they do activities. We went to two activities on Saturday. One in the morning and one at night. They werent prepared for the morning scavenger hunt and we went to a dance at night (which my 5 year old daughter was so excited about). There was nobody around. Apparently they decided not to have the dance but nothing was posted that it was canceled. Needless to say I had a very upset 5yo. I think that they should be more prepared and if something is canceled they should post it.The bathrooms were clean but they were cold. We were here in April. They could have used some maintenance. The drain covers were a bit sharp and rusted. The water was hot and the water pressure was great! We used the laundry room to wash some towels and the price per load was $1.50. The washers worked great but the dryers take 2 or 3 times to dry.Overall this is a great place. Staff is friendly and helpful! Giving 4 stars because there were a few inconveniences.
I love it. There are things that could change but all and all its a great place to go and relax or bring your kids/grand kids. They need to be more productive in the upkeep of the grass and keeping things fixed. I understand they are understaffed right now. There is many things to do there as a family or by yourself. The activities need to start on time and the staff doing them need to be prepared and more proactive. In the 9yrs I have been going I have had one issue. It was resolved within a few hours.
Kids can now drive their parents car. With teenagers sitting on roof. No noise rule any more. Don’t like nor appreciate the fact. Have too buy their internet too Stream. And nobody knows how it works? Over all We’ve been Happy with the place years ago. And would hope too think the new owner ( the son) will improve these Resorts since paying maintenance fee.
I have been coming to Lakeshore since 2016. There is lots to do here. Boating, swimming, arcade, food and Ice cream. They are finally giving out individual storage lots that become yours until you no longer want to store your camper there. This is a big deal to me. Most of the people that store their campers there do not know how to back up straight 😒.
They will sell memberships saying that you can store your camper and get it moved to site but what they forget to tell you is that storage is full. Storage at lake shore used to accomidate more but with new owners they leave much storage land empty while people camp. The storage system not only cuts down on there money from more storage fees but makes it so many members cant really store there camper like they say.Cabins cost over 1600 for 2 week rental. They sell you a membership based on lies and charge all kinds of fees once they have you. I can think of way better places to go besides a dirty camp ground where everything is broken. Plus the linens they now provide are gross
Was disappointed for my first visit! No map when you get there and its a very big park, went to try the paddle boats but all 12 were broke and all 12 of the kayaks were out of course. You have how many of hundreds of people there and thats how many you have of each. Very rude employees with one telling us come down whenever and another one saying sorry its a new person they dont have a clue. WOW. We had a few families with us and was thinking about it but not after all that. Plus this new management seems to be about the money not the Park members! Last you had a year to get everything in tip top shape for the pirce you charge and thats not the case at all! Disappointed and remember they can change your contact at any time.
My mom was member here for years, after the failed first (due to contractor) construction of the lazy river it has just gone down hill. Completely understaffed, and undertrained. The lawns still havent been mowed as of yesterday the grass was as tall as the fire rings. My father actually purchased a membership after a tour and still has not been given access, and now that he has asked for his money back and driven to the facility twice nobody has contacted him or assisted him in the matter to make it right (it has been 3 months since he paid). The last time this place was fun and enjoyable was 2010.
Everything is nice except for the price you pay out the furniture in the rentals could be much better I can say it looks to be having newer beds but as far as the chairs and couches and stuff for all ran down and beat up needs new or at least better than what it has. Its terrible that you have to buy internet service 😡
While the place was nice, the experience we had was uneven. Buddy, who was the salesperson, was nice and informative. My husband and I were both put on guard right from the beginning as we were ushered into a room that looked like a place where lots of people placed unwanted phonecalls with the promise that you have already won something or another if youll just provide a valid credit card to confirm your identity. That was made worse by the sight of a large gong which we assumed would be used to announce a sale. Tacky and a real sense of unease. The man sent in to do the final high pressure sales pitch pretty much cinched that we would not sign anything. Would you buy a car without driving it first? This was an either sign today or the special offer disappears situation. So WE disappeared. Oh yes, a $49 fee for bed sheets pretty much was an invitation to RUN not walk away. $49 to have them wash my sheets? Insane.
After entering the park you lose all phone and internet service, I tried to connect and had to pay $30, me & the park manager couldnt get it to work by the 6th day of our stay so I was given a refund, but on the 3rd or 4th day my mother had a seizure (btw 1st one in her whole life of 63 years) and I couldnt call 911 and I couldnt find anyone to help me. It took 20 minutes for the sheriff to arrive and @ 45 minutes for the ambulance. Besides them giving no choice on all networking service and it putting my familys life in danger the park was fun. There is no heated pool. Without the golf cart (which costed $200 for a week) there was no way of getting everywhere in the heat and how big the park was so that was a must. Really fun and clean
I’ve had a membership for two years now! To rent one of the big houses was $75 now it’s 120 I don’t understand how you can raise the prices when I signed a contract to be a member it was set!?! I really like this place but why are we paying extra, and how much extra am I gonna have the pay in the future??? This sucks because I really like to come and enjoy the amenities but the cash is a bit to high for me even with everything I’m already paying for! SMH 🤦♀️
Staff was very professional, no high pressure sales. Even though we didnt sign up with the campground. They still provided the Blackstone griddle and everything they promised for coming out to see them. Great campground I highly recommend going out to talk with them. See if what they have to offer meets your camping needs.
I am deeply disappointed with the way I was treatmented by the security at outdoor adventures. You pay a lot of money for a membership and maintence fees. He told me if I dont like that the gate closes at 3 pm that I should not stay there. What kind of customer service is this? I would not recommend getting a membership to this place. They do not do up keep and the staff is rude.
A bit of trouble getting our reserved spot as the people next to us took up more than their share. Office people were not very helpful in finding us a spot..said WE had to call corporate, they would not..and they were not busy. Corporate never called us back, meanwhile were just standing there! We drove around..with our rig..found several open spots..back to the office, then they finally, magically were able to book into a different site..using the computer they said they couldnt b4. Otherwise, lots to do here!
The park is excellent. But having to pay $5.00 for a visit & then having to go to the office & show the recite. Thats nuts. How much time spent in the line, to much. And, only one entrance? Whats that about? Its all about the mighty dollar for your company, isnt it???
Bad experience. Came on an invite to buy membership. Great tour from Sammie, when it came to business the head manager came to the table, a big guy with a loud voice, dont know name and we asked questions about pricing because he only offered 2 options and we heard the sales guy next to us offer other deals and our guy thought we werent interested because we asked about different options and he just left the table and never came back. We WERE going to buy a membership but not now since he was so rude and car sales man. Do not recommend this place only because of that and they offer prices according to each person, BAD BUSINESS plus better business bureau and attorney general is on them for fraud. Look it up on Google Detroit news posted
The cabins are all in major need if upgraded/re-upholstered furniture. Weve stayed in several over the last few years and each one desperately needed upgrades and re-upholstered cloth furniture 🛋. They also really need better quality mattresses on the beds 🛌.The price is GREAT for rentals but for the price of membership, the upgrades are necessary. They also need more golf carts. Its hard to get a golf cart rental because theyre usually all spoken for each day of the week. Minor inconvenience to not have one, yes. But if youre willing to pay the money 💰, its nice to have them available without calling multiple times every single day to see if one is available - not a good use of vacation time 🙃All in all, SO many other amenities included and we always have a great time ❤ we havent camped anywhere else in 15 years.
Received an offer for a free 7 day pass and a $25 gas card for checking out their facility. Our guide, Cameron, was very friendly, listened well, explained what they had to offer, and took us on a tour of the park. Upon our return to the office, we meet with a manager who gave us the $25 gift card, understood that the facility wasn’t exactly what we were looking for and thanked us for coming out. Cameron then signed our 7 day pass and invited us to give the facility a try. No high pressure sale and the presentation was great. They were offering a lifetime camping package for $16K with a $500 annual fee. They stated that the membership could be transferred to a family member down the road. Overall, we had a great experience and we are looking forward to giving the facility a try. Thanks for the great presentation Cameron and making our visit so enjoyable. Keep up the great work!
I have come here annually for as long as I can remember. This year we have come for Christmas and were staying in a cabin its small but very nice. Outdoor adventures will always be a part of my childhood memory :) (edit the rules are a little strick on adult swim if you are not 21 you cant enjoy a spot in their cozy hot tub to chill with your friends).
Buy a membership on Marketplace or Craigslist for about $3,000. Its a great place to camp. Several locations in Michigan, 2 in Ohio and 2 in upstate New York. They want you to buy a membership from them for between $8,000 and $20,000, depending on which type you purchase. Buy one online and save a bundle! Open all year round.
A lot of kids but what do you expect a lot of golf carts 5 mile an hour it was a great place once you got the ins and outs on what to do if your 77 years old you might want to try the beach rather than the swimming pools and the hot tubs but once you get it down its a great place
After Christmas we wanted to take our kids up to the cabins for a three night stay so that they can let loose and swim in the indoor pool, play in the arcade and see a movie in the new Dome. We checked in on 12/26 to cabin #28 at 3pm and we left at 4:30pm! After arriving and unpacking our clothes and putting sheets on the bed and wanting to unwind before heading to the pool my wife noticed something crawling on my pillow case. My son sat up and she noticed a bug walking across my pillow. She collected into a water bottle and brought it to my attention at the kitchen table. I told her that this was a beg bug and asked where she found it and she told me it was on my pillow case in our bed. I went over to see if there were others and there were several others along the headboard. I went upstairs to see if there were any on the kids bed and I didnt notice any. Unfortunately, we had to cut our vacation short due this unsanitary health situation with our cabin. We notified the registration desk that we were not going to stay and then asked for a refund as we were canceling our stay. They told us to go and to contact the reservation department to file a refund claim. My wife called and left a voicemail and sent an email explaining the situation that occurred and their reply was simply a sorry and a refund. If I was in a corporate position not only what I apologize, but I would offer some form of compensation for the gas you spent to get there and back and a call to ask What can we do to make this a better experience for you next time. A quick email response of sorry makes me lose faith and trust with this place. I dont know if Ill stay in the cabins again, but if youre reading this, look closely when checking in. Be cautious and dont settle! I hope customer service will improve its care and practice in making things better for customers in the future so that the remedy for a situation isnt an email reply of Sorry. You can do better than this Outdoor Adventures. Because sorry doesnt fill my gas tank for a vacation we never got to enjoy. Because sorry doesnt pay for the price of detergent to wash my sheets and clothes or the hours of time it took to make it right.
Incredibly disappointed with this place. We were very excited when we got our membership last year and could see our family spending a lot of time here. Now we are regretting our decision. The past few times camping here, service has not been great at all. This weekend tops it, we rented cabins for the first time and our parents drove in from out of state to spend time with us, especially since we havent seen each other in person since the end of May due to Covid. Last night (a few hours after arriving) the cabin they are in began to smell like gas. We called security, they were moved to another cabin. My husband ended up having to help them move, then go back to the cabin to open the windows since no one who worked there was able to do so as a safety measure. Then he had to drive back to the front to drop off the key. The new cabins smoke detector was unhooked, no battery. So he left and went to speedway to get a battery. Today we get a call at 3:30pm from the store on property asking us if our guests were going to move out of the new cabin to the gas filled one because they rented the cabin they put them in to someone else (today they rented it out to someone else). I asked why they would put them back into a cabin with a gas leak. I was told the leak was fixed, the pilot light went out and all is ok. I also asked why they would not inform them or us that when would have to move out of the cabin they were moved into. No response. Just again wanting to know if they were moving back into the gas filled cabin, which by the way they were not bringing us keys to, they expected us to drive to the store to get them. I even stated that they should have one of the employees drive them to us for the inconvenience we have already experienced. Nope. They dont care. While we were having the phone call, Housekeeping drove to the new cabin and knocked on the door asking our parents to leave and to leave the keys on the table. So we go through this whole thing, get them back over to the original cabin that is supposedly fixed from the gas issue, only to go inside to gas smell. No, the issue is not fixed. We go back to the store to resolve the issue and we cannot be helped. No one at the HQ is answering the staffs calls or our calls. And now here we are, our parents who came to see us and their grandchild from out of state, have no place to stay, yet we have paid for a cabin, ontop of our yearly fees and not to mention expensive membership to this place as well. They leave tomorrow, and this is how we got to spend our weekend together. Thanks outdoor adventures. Please do not bother getting a membership here.Update: the young lady at the store was finally able to get a hold of her manager, and was able to thankfully provide another cabin for our parents to stay in. Wish they could have stayed in the one they were moved to last night and removed from today, because there is yet to be anyone in that cabin and it is almost 11pm.
Sucks green jacuzzi no life guard at pool side. 20,000.00 membership. Wearing a mask at the pool side even know we are six feet apart .showed us new cabins. But alot of old cabins.for$ 48.00 to $100.00 dollars a night. All worms died all moldy for fishing .worms were a year old for 4.00 dollars a dozen. No lock for lockers in the dressing room.place not clean at all !!!!!!!
Mediocre amenities and old and worn down cabins. They want 20k for memberships and if you dont sign on the dotted line at that very moment they show you the door. Our salesmen was a former used car salesmen and it showed. Michelle made alot of promises of free this and free that but turns out nothing in life is free lol. If you like the park you can find better deals online from members that are selling their memberships for dirt cheap. Just not worth 20k.
Salesman was nice did a great job at davisonlocation.. When it came to talking to the manager it changed it all. Once we said we would like to try it out before we made a decision, he grab the paper off the table and just walked away. Didnt say thanks for coming.. hope you like it and decide to get a membership or even a have a nice night. For this reason alone I wouldnt pay ANY price to stay here!!!
Awesome, fun, friendly camp ground to take your family for the summer or anytime!!🌞🏖🏊♂️🏕🤗Everyone is so friendly . So much for kids to do, lazy river, toddler splash pad, pool, (3)One indoor for those rainy days that do happen, always game room, hot tub, adult only lounge!!!!!
The park itself seemed nice. Modern amenities and a very clean camp. However, I was not impressed by the high pressure sales pitch on the membership (which is essentially a timeshare but they wont call it by that name). When I asked to review the contract for membership, I was told it was all pretty much boilerplate and I needed to decide before the clock on the deal ran out. I pressed for a copy to review. While I was told there were copies right at the desk it actually took them about 40/minutes to bring one out. All I can say is READ THE FINE PRINT VERY CAREFULLY. It may be a good deal for some, especially those who are avid travelers or campers and go weekly or monthly in the summer months, but it has a lot of conditions. We walked out without buying, in spite of pressure and changing offers right until.we drove off the lot.
Ive only been a member here shortly, but so far all of my experiences have been good. We stopped here today so the kids could do done mid-winter swimming at the indoor pool. The pool was nice and warm, however the deck area was in need of some cleaning. It was apparent that some who had visited did not adhere to the no food policy as there were some wrappers and chips on the floor. The changing rooms have lockers which is nice for not having to haul all of your winter gear with you onto the pool deck. Getting in and it was quick and easy.
We are always happy to stay at outdoor adventure parks. We had a good spot across from the lake in the 700 section. Disappointed that pot holes have been let go and allowed to be come so large. Cabins are in need of a new stain job. Some roofs are in need of repair. Inside pool is being renovated, but see no one working on it. Enjoyed the use of a golf cart we rented. All in all we enjoyed our visit. Something for every member of the family including the fury ones. Summer time this place is very busy.
Our family loves this place, from the kids to the adults. There are so many things to do especially on weekends. Our toilet broke later at night when maintenance was gone and security came and fixed it. We have NEVER had bed bugs as some are saying and we use the cabins a lot. I also check thoroughly.. Mostly everyone there is friendly and helpful. We are all looking forward to 4th of July camping..
I have been coming to this campground for years as a guest and i finally purchased my own membership. The only disappointment i have is that there is no longer cable TV and i have made several calls to the manager and he has yet to return my call.. The campground itself is fabulous the employees are very nice and respectful, bathrooms are clean and its nice and peaceful!! ****/5 rating is only because i cant get a return phone call!!
Beautiful resort. I was a little surprised at how tight the camping sites were. Only appeared to be 15 feet or so between each camper. (This a guess as we didnt actually measure the distance). The amenities were nice but if you were across the lake there was a long drive and even longer walk to get to them. One entire section, the larger of the two in the resort, was mostly in direct sun with very little to no shade. I understand the need for the 5 mph speed limit and the need for the speed bumps but in an unloaded 3/4 ton HD pickup they were a bit much. The resort is probably one of the largest Ive visited and the speed bumps were like 150 - 200 feet apart but without the speed bumps the possibility of accidents due to speeding would be unacceptable. The resort was quiet and peaceful during the time we visited and all of the vehicles that were on the road were obeying the posted speed limit. Nice 18 hole mini golf course, shuffle board area. Overall, a nice resort but a little cramped. If you have a large RV they do have a decent amount of pull through sites available. Most of the sites appeared to be fairly level with 30 and 50 amp hookups.
Note: This review is based on going tent camping with my friends and none of us have kids. If none of this applies to you, you might want to read someone elses review. The people at the front gate are not super friendly when checking you in and gave many in our group a hard time. The first two rows of campsites have no sewage, which is nice because its mostly tents and smaller campers and a lot more trees for shade. However, the bathroom for these sites only have 3 stalls and 2 showers, so there is always a line to wait for either and a couple of times 1-2 toilets werent working for a time.Because most of the campground is RV friendly and there are people who stay a week or 2 at a time there are a ton of golf carts everywhere. This is fine, except when kids are driving them and after dark before quiet hours when we were sitting around the campfire trying to visit with each other, people on golf carts would be cruising up and down the roads either blaring their music or even just driving with very loud carts. It made it very difficult to hear my friends. There were many times we would stop talking and wait for the parade of loud golf carts to pass and then stop again when they passed on the road behind us. For a trip that we were trying to relax on, it was anything but. They had a lot of things to do around the site that was nice...mini golf, paddle boats, paddle boards, pools, and some small beaches (however there were signs all over the beaches saying the water hadnt been tested, so I didnt dare go in). They do enforce the quiet hours, so that was nice. And its family friendly, so the campers were all friendly around us.
I love this place! Weve had our membership for 4 years now, and absolutely love it! We go up there for the day all the time! We walk our dogs, use the lake, etc. Its nice that members dont have to camp there to enjoy it! My husband and I work 6 days a week, 12 hour days, and only get a week off for a vacation once a year. We stay here on that week, but it is really the member day passes that make it all worth it. I love a nice Sunday up here, year round!
Ive had bad experiences here. Particularly when I rented a trailer and the lot it was on flooded every day due to light rain. This time was OK as it was a day trip visiting family. The main pool area in nice and spacious. But the pool is way over chlorinated. The beach was nice. And my son enjoyed getting ice cream at the end of the day. They also have kayaks and paddle boats to rent. They also seem to be always making improvements which is nice.
Do not buy into this membership!! It is not user friendly. You will not be able to schedule a campsite unless you preplan 90 days in advance and even then its hit or miss. Every day they drive people around trying to sell more members but cannot provide for the one that have already bailed out tons of money with a yearly due. They will tell you your kids can use the facilitity for an extra $2,000 but this is only if their over 18. My 17 yr old cannot go without us camping and as I said thats impossible to book. The indoor pool has not been in service since we bought and their is a long list of things that need improvement still. We are avid campers and their are many nicer campgrounds to go to. I promise you will not be happy with this membership. Please save your money and frustrations.
We came here for some joke of a contest they claimed was not a time share. It very much was a time share! They want you to purchase their membership which was $15,000 for a life time of being able to camp in any of their campgrounds or other locations they are associated with. Sounds great right? Well the camp sites are extremely close to one another, you cant reserve any site you would want. So I guess if you are into being able to see in your neighbors camper then you would enjoy this place. I really wanted to like it but I just couldnt stand the fact of how close everything was together.
Sadly, it isnt as clean as it used to be and the staff could hate their jobs a little less. We have a membership which makes it a bummer that it isnt as nice as it used to be. Very crowded as well...everywhere. Trying to have faith though! One thing that would help tremendously - for folks to stop using the facilities as a babysitter for their kids. They are supposed to be with an adult but I truly doubt each adult has 30 kids....yikes!
This place has potential. Plenty of activities. Nice, chill atmosphere. The problem is with the staff. There is no direction when you check in. They dont give you a map or rules or anything. We rented a cabin and it was a pretty cool cabin, but we didnt know what to do with out trash or our dirty linens or anything. And they charge you $40 PER NIGHT for linens that didnt even cost $40 to purchase. They use those cheap, swanky hotel towels and washcloths. This is all on top of a pretty expensive membership.
My parents have been members here for 5 years. It was worth the price when they Joined. Cabins were like $60-$80 a night. Well, they decided to have the pool closed at the dome from some time in 2018-2020 remodeling it. We booked a cabin that was typically $80 a night, they jumped the price $100 so now its $180 a night! NO IMPROVEMENTS have been made to the cabins. Here are some photos if the cabin we stayed in last night. Oh, and we stayed in a cabin a month ago that was just as run down. So its not just this one. Ridiculous and gross. I would highly advise not getting a membership here.
We are lifetime members and have been coming here for many years. I have seen changes and improvements of all kinds. Some good, some bad! Employees are very polite and friendly. I find many people don’t read the rules you give them. You have people walking across the putt putt course that aren’t playing. People still saving campsites, kids riding bikes and skateboards on the pavilions. Also kids using foul language in the pools etc. Not as clean as it used to be! Still enjoy the people and the scenery.
I grew up spending my summers at this campground. It had been probably 20 years or more since I had been. This place has drastically changed. Very very crowded but a lot of new things to do like mini golf and outdoor pools. Campground lit markings are almost impossible to spot as the painted lit numbers on the road are all but gone. Overall I feel that its a nice facility but that it is way to overcrowded to be enjoyable. Granted we went on a weekend so it is expected to be busy however I feel like they have oversold the memberships for profits over enjoyment.
This place is amazing! I recently visited my grandparents and their neighbor has a membership and took us there for the day! It has 2 beach areas to swim at, paddle boats, mini golf, standing paddle boards, a splash pad/pool for kids, a lazy river, an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, and activities for children! They also have a grille with great food at a great cost! If I lived closer I would definitely be looking into getting a membership!!!!!
It was alright.. then outdoors desided to have a free week of camping for anyone so it brong in some rif raf in ..i no a couple of campers were up to no good vehicles in and out of there i counted over 30 vehicles in one day and all different each day i did mention it to the staff but no one even bothered to check it out
I really love the staff at this Resort. They are very friendly and very helpful. This place could use some upgrades to the sites. I been a member with this place for over four years and I dont see many upgrades going into this place. Although they have done some work with the go-kart track. I havent checked the Putt-Putt. I dunno that the pool does need some work to it the sites are maintain just to a level of occupancy. I do know that they are working I knew sites in the very back. And they do have other campgrounds that they purchased. But for this one being so close to the lake seems like they would have invested a lot more money into this one as they did the Mount Pleasant one. But again the staff is great very helpful. And I do enjoy coming to Outdoor Adventures.
This company gets one star from my family. Corporate customer service is EXTREMELY rude and their stiff policies make enjoying the membership difficult. It all sounds great on paper but using it is AWFUL and so inconvenient. While I wish we wouldnt have signed up at all (Ill say, the salesmen are very good, very convincing), Im glad we only got the 2 year sample membership. We will never use Outdoor Adventures again and definitely will spread the word to fellow campers. The final straw to that decision was an attempt at canceling a reservation. $50 to do so last minute. On a weekend they wont be remotely close to full, and due to an emergency with my husbands job (which I can provide them proof of), we will not physically be able to come up. Still charging us the fees. Weve already paid the membership off, so weve paid more than enough to cover the space, yet they have got to get their nickels and dimes in. And the attitude I was met with on the phone was unacceptable. The manager was worse than the customer service rep.We also have had poor experiences in finding appropriate lots for our camper due to their reservation system. You cant pick the lots until you arrive, so we literally had to squeeze in to a tiny lot because they were so full. They romanticize the idea of having so many lots to choose from, but the actual implementation is horrible. Its a shame because the Lake Shore resort is beautiful and the amenities are nice. My kids love it. I would love it, too, if it wasnt a SCAM.DONT FALL FOR THE SALES PITCH! ITS NOT WORTH IT. I know more people who regret their memberships than who actually enjoy them. It looks great on paper but thats it. Their salesmen are reeeeeeally good at sugar coating everything, but in reality, its just rotten. DONT BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU AT ALL.
We just got a call saying we didnt pay a yearly service fee we knew nothing about. When we asked about it was told then you didnt read section 12. The whole contract was read to us and nothing was said about a service fee. I will be heading up there tomorrow. The woman was very rude to my wife and that will never happen again. What the since of paying for a 5 year trial for 6000$ when they tac on another 3000$. Maybe a 25 or 50$ fee but not 3000$. If we dont get our money back I will go all out on the review.
This campground is NOT worth the hassle. They harassed my disabled mother and stepfather after they couldnt afford to pay the monthly fee anymore (they didnt continue going to the park either). Its pathetic that they sued poor people who live off social security welfare ... dont get yourself in this mess of an organization, even if you have the funds.
Very peaceful. People keep their 6 distance most of the time. Mask wearing by some campers were a problem. Seniors wore masks. Majority stayed on their sights and relaxed. No security at the pools therefore people brought their dogs to the pool to swim, however forced the parents to be there with their youth, which is a great things.
Membership has been oversold and Lake Shore allows so many weekend only reservations that those who would like to camp for the 2 week period to relax and enjoy the campground are out of luck unless they go somewhere else. Also, so many day passes are allowed that there is no room in the pool areas to get a chair and relax because unsupervised kids are splashing and running everywhere. When we bought our membership 3 years ago, we were told to just come in and pick a spot, go to the store and register. Not so! We called to make a reservation and were told we need to make a reservation almost 3 months ahead of time to stay for a week or two. Not at all happy since weve joined. With the amount we paid to join plus the annual fee because we cannot enjoy our local campground as promised. We were also told our membership was sellable but find out it is not unless we pay another $8000 +/- to upgrade first. We feel we have been misled, but yes, we have now read the contract. It doesnt say what the salesperson told us, so anyone seeking membership - read the contract thoroughly! And we are calling the main numbers (your comments when people are dissatisfied). are very unhappy campers with ODA!

Every Resort that I have visited has been well maintained and clean with a friendly staff. What I didnt appreciate was the rules not being followed by a few staff. If an culture is to be set, it should be set by those employed there, also while I was there, I tried to get reservations for the following weekend which still would have been in my allotted time for my membership, but was told by registration that it was full, I spoke to many at the pools as my children played most of which were on a free 21 day pass. I dont feel that those on the free 21 day pass should take precedence over my paid membership.
We rented a campsite for two nights and really enjoyed our experience! The playgrounds are great for kids (ours are all young), with shade, which is wonderful. The kids loved swimming in the lake and we enjoyed that it wasnt very deep (for their safety and our sanity). The paddle boat rental was fun and so was the row boat. We will definitely be returning to camp again!
Great place to spend time with the family winter, summer, spring or fall. Some summer activities are plenty of pools including small childrens water park, kayaking, paddle boats, playground on the beach (2 beaches), Putt putt, fishing, shuffleboards, walking trails, volley ball nets, playground off the beach near ice cream shop/a la carte(the grill). Decent priced 24/7 laundry facilities, 24/7 access to showers and restrooms. Very clean showers/restrooms even on the busiest summer day. Strict child friendly 5 mph speed limit. Some winter activities include warm child/pet friendly cabins with several different models to choose from. Ice fishing, arcade, (indoor pool is currently being remodeled), looks like I nice gym (not something I had time to use). Still plenty of trails for snow shoeing and collecting wood for a fire. They also have weekend activities in (the dome) like bingo, crafts, and cards which I was also not able to take advantage of. My family of 6 including 2 large pets enjoyed our week stay with 2 nights free after paying for 5 in a spacious log cabin. It was nice that a few local places delivered to the front of the resort too.
It would be nice if they informed people making reservations when major amenities are not available. We stayed with anticipation of making use of the pool and hot tub area. Unfortunately they neglected to inform us of the scheduled closing of those amenities for repair. Also there was one attendant in the entrance gate who was rude, impatient, and even more than a bit condesending when asked any question at all. When we complained about her the other employees gave the impression that we were not even the first that day to complain about her. Members pay well for this resort and deserve better treatment all around.
I purchased a teardrop camper from a dealer and with it i received 21 days free at outdoor adventures resorts with the stipulation I had to sit through their sales/timeshare pitch. no big deal so I went. I was greeted by very friendly staff and met my sales/tour guide of the park. I quickly explained this style of glamping was not for me as I generally dont use campgrounds with all of the luxury of real life and he was very understanding of that and stated he wouldnt waste anymore of my time but he had to let his manager talk to me to validate my 21 free days. So the manager tells me what a deal im missing out on and blah blah blah, I turn him down and he lowers the price dramatically and I still turned it down. He broke it down to the cost only being $80 a month which he said included allllllll this stuff and all locations throughout the united states and i still turned it down. I told him this type of GLAMPING is not for me. He then changed his pitch to it being an investment. He told me if i buy it at this super cheap price that I could then sell it a year or 2 down the road and make a profit, now my ears perked up because im all about investments making money. I told him that im interested but i want to reasearch first and thats when the high pressure sales tactic hit, he told me if I leave I lose this deal and id never get it again.I ended up agreeing to purchase, now sitting down with the actual finance person signing all these documents he gives me a paper saying thank you for your new purchase on this GOOD SAM credit card with a few months interest free then a 10% apr after that! A credit card with interest was never mentioned prior to them already opening the account!! I was told this deal at this price for a payment of $80. The fact this was never mentioned was a big no no in my book. I still proceeded though seeing how I was planning to sell for profit later on.Once home I looked up private sales of these packages and they were LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE they just sold me on saying I could resell for profit ( my mistake for trusting sales people)!!!!! I found a document I signed saying I had 3 days from date of signing to cancel for any reason but it could only be done through a written letter post marked through the usps. I tried contacting someone for those 3 days and not a single person answered nor called back so I just sent the post marked letter as was stated in the document to cancel on the 3rd day. I called every one of their locations including corporate office over the next 6 days without any answer nor call backs. finally about 8 days later they called me back and said sorry and they would cancel my purchase and send my 21 free days back to use if i chose. So now i decided to try and use some of those days since its free and I called the number on their site for reservations 3 days in a row leaving messages and no return calls. Once they finally called back the location I wanted was booked so I settled for a different location. Upon looking up what the other locations have to offer i decided another location would be a better option for me due to a shuttle to the rifle river with a kayaking trip leading back to the campground so I called back right away and behold..... again no answer! Now on the 3rd day in a row trying to contact these people and I cant get a hold of anyone! this place is ridiculous with customer service. I would highly suggest not dealing with them.
No indoor pool no workout room both have been closed for few years not much rebuild progress. We purchased membership to use both in Davison and have been unable. On top of membership fee is the $600 per year maintenance fee! We see very little maintenance at any park! Nothing is maintained lol they had a broken toilet in Davison for over 1 year really a 30 minute fix. Broken door to clubhouse over 1 year this place is a prime example of ownership that just dont care.........I have a free membership for who ever wants it...hey they dont even maintain the lawn .....I Would not recommenduntil under new management
We love coming here to camp. Multiple members of my family have memberships and we’re sure to share with all our friends how much we enjoy it. One my item of gripe that I have though is, there are groups of people that come into the campground and rent a single cabin but are obviously well over the allowed number of people to be in that cabin. It seems like every summer this becomes more and more prominent. last year while sitting at the pool I overheard a conversation between two ladies that they weren’t sure how they were going to arrange all the air mattresses for all 12 boys to sleep that night. This resort is already incredibly busy (which I’m not complaining about) but in situations like that, it just unfairly overpopulates it more. With all that being said, We do truely enjoy coming here and are ready for it to warm up so we can head up.
Went today for a tour of the facility. The tour guide was very friendly and informative. My family and I are considering a membership, but we have never even been camping or stayed in a cabin before. I wish there were a way to have a trial stay to make sure it is a good fit for our family before committing to the lifetime membership. Otherwise our experience on the grounds was good.
The facility itself was nice, although in need of some maintenance (which we were assured is already planned). The biggest downside (or upside, if youre already a member) is that its members-only, with a (currently) $16k price tag to gain that membership. They do offer financing and a few lower-priced options--though none below $1k+a few hundred per year in dues. If you have the money and you enjoy traveling and camping, this could be a great option.
I love it here. I grew up going here my entire life my grandpa bought a membership a while ago and I get to visit a lot. This place, there are so many things to do with an activity schedule for each day although I only go in the summer, the updates that they have been making make the camp even better. Although going there while theyre in construction isnt the best but its okay. I am now 16 and Im planning on buying my own membership when I get older due to, my name isnt on the contract and I wish that they could make an exception but I get it. Anyways its a great place to have memories at. hey I learned how to swim here when I was 4 and I still remember it.
Have had membership for 2 years now and couldnt be any less satisfied. Very difficult to get someone on the phone to make reservations the whole year and now they make an app u can schedule online but theyre charging you more money for a membership you had already bought. I do not recommend at all.
Decent park, but if you get a cabin take pictures to cover yourself of all the damage. None of our door locks worked, one door couldnt even close, another had a loose track, mirror was tapped together. The TV was loosely attached to some home made concoction. The house keeping staff informed us no maintenance gets done till someone complains.
The campground itself is nice but there are issues. If you are looking to be a member beware! My relative was mislead when joining. We gave it a try anyways and was told our reservation number and recieved several emails. We drove over two hours to get there and they couldnt find our reservation and wouldnt let us setup or past the entry way. We had 3 adults, two kids and a dog and we had to argue back and forth about how we talked to a Michelle on the phone plus we showed the emails. We werent on their list. We were basically told we were SOL, they gave us some attitude and asked us to leave. After allowing us to pull forward we scrambled to try to prove that we did everything correctly. They had to make several phone calls and finally found our reservation after about an hour.We were almost turned away because they wouldnt accept the confirmation we were given by their own company. We didnt join because of the misleading they do with our other family members and also because of them being dysfunctional. They did apologize and became extremely friendly once we proved them wrong.Moral of the story is if you feel you HAVE to join for whatever reason you need to save your confirmation number (which wont really matter to them if it isnt on the list), know the name of the person you confirmed with and their extension number, plus bring snacks for those waiting in your RV....this could take a while.
My wife made a reservation for a cabin and the reservation was confirmed for a campsite. The entire drive to the Davison location she tried to call their office and the phone was disconnected. When we arrived at registration, Olivia was more than helpful in sorting things out but was unable to book the cabin because of the inaccurate reservation for a campsite. She contacted the home office manager, Deanna, who forced us to pay a cancellation fee of $50 for a campsite we never reserved and that doesn’t have a day rate for members and that was made an hour before we arrived. They also could not provide our reservation request showing that we asked for a cabin in the first place. Olivia said that this was the third time this week reservations had been made for cabins and were switched to campsites forcing people to pay cancellation fees. It seems like some sort of scam or a way to nickel and dime members for more money. The cabins are marketed as $15 a night during their sales but actually range from $30-$75 a night. The staff at the store/registration office were very friendly but they have a store at a campground with no firewood and we were told we could not bring in firewood from outside the park. We became members to have a place close to home for our family but were not expecting to be ripped off by their management. Completely unsatisfied with our first camping trip. Buyer beware!!!
Membership is not worth it. In recent years they have tried to high pressure sell us upgrades. The Davison indoor pool and hot tub has been closed 2 winters now. Customer service is terrible. They keep raising fees for everything. If you have to cancel a reservation it has to be 5 to 7 days in advance or the fee is $100. Yes if I had it to do over I would not buy a membership.
It was a great Experience, for too many people in one large conference room. Kids running around crying, laughing and made hard to hear the presentation, even though it was very professional and informative. Our host answered everything, even though we had to ask him to repeat some things! What really amazed us, and why we bought a membership, was unlike other Clubs, they did NOT criticize the competition...
My family went here because of a drawing from the Great Lakes Crossing for a truck or $20,000 giveaway. I was not impressed with the staff as they were pressuring our family to sign up for Outdoor Adventures contract which by the way is very expensive. They literally were asking us to pay as much as $20,000. I was taken back!!! I looked around and there was alot of staff people there getting people to sign up as well. It was super loud and we couldnt even hear the guy that helped us as he was talking a hundred miles a minute. We felt like we were just being used for money. He also drove us around in a golf cart to show us the cabins and sites trying to lock us in the deal. As he drove, there was a huge spider inside the golf cart in front of my husband. It was a huge cobweb with the spider. Really obvious! So as the guy was driving the cart at the same time, he was shooing the spider and it so happened that he was swerving around and my daughter yelled out to please stop the cart. But he didnt listen. He kept driving and then finally got the spider and threw it outside but it so happened that the spider and web landed on me. CRAP!!! My daughter jumped out of the golf cart because she was frightened and skinned her knee and side of her hip. The guy laughed, but, I didnt think it was at all funny. He was not acting responsible and professional. When we got back we tried the contest key to see if it would fit inside the steering wheel. We thought we would actually go inside the winning truck, but, it was nothing but a steering wheel contraption inside their building. My key didnt work. So we lost the contest. They gave us gift cards that I tried out online. Every gift card I tried online were cheap ridiculous items like dolphin earrings. Or the items were so expensive that the gift card couldnt cover it. It isnt anything that was advertised. Totally a false advertisement to get people to sign up for a permanent contract at the Outdoor Adventures campground and in return we just get a bunch of crap!!!The truck has been sitting at the Great Lakes Crossing for a very long time. I dont think anybody is a winner by signing up for this bologna!!!
We camped there as guests last weekend. We promised that, if we attended the tour, we could get reimbursed for the cost, 21 free days of camping, and a chance to win a new truck. After enduring 2 hours of intensive sales, they said they couldn’t refund our costs because there credit card machine we down. The 21 day coupon we we handed was already expired, and there was no key to try in a truck. We were told that we had to buy a membership now or the deal would go away. Who spends 13,000 dollars without thinking about it? The whole sales thing stunk of some kind of scam.Update:After my review, I was contacted by the Administration of Outdoor Adventure. They want to make things right. They are refunding the promised camping fees and mailing a 21 day free pass for their parks.
Camping is GREAT fun! The sites are well maintained. Each have picnic tables and fire pits! We love it there! The pool is great and the HOT TUB IS AWESOME!!!! We love the Grill and the hand-dipped ice cream! My granddaughters love the beach. My youngest daughter loves the Dome and its game room! So MUCH FUN!
We go to outdoor adventures in flint Michigan and we love it. The just remodeled the indoor pool and jacuzzi. They did a wonderful job. The staff is always professional and courteous. The cabins may be a bit pricy but they are very nice. The camping areas are nice and shaded. My kids love the playgrounds, I cant ever get them off when its time to go. It is a great family oriented place to go. I would recommend this place to everyone.
I am a pretty gullible person so when I received a phone call saying that I won a key that could possibly start a truck I was really excited over the top . My wife warned me that this was probably a scam even after reading several reviews we still decided to go. The letter they sent me clearly says this is not a timeshare pitch but that’s exactly what it is they just call it a membership . We wasted a half a tank a gas and over an hour drive one way just to go check this out and then find out that they are trying to sell us a $15,000 membership. They tell you you win free gifts when you come and check out the location and hear their sales pitch but the gifts are worthless of no value they gave me $250 in coupons that they called gift cards and a trip you still have to pay for. This is a very nice place I wouldn’t mind camping here but the only people that can camp here are members and I’m not paying $15,000 or even less than that to become a mem. The sales person was very nice and friendly however after he got the manager and they still continue to try to get us to buy something from them and we refused for a third time it seemed that he got very upset and rudely told us to have a good day and stormed away.
This is my favorite place to go during the summer! What a blast, and there are always friendly people who camp there! I love that they take pride in mostly everything they do. I look forward to camping here and packing almost a week early! But it isnt perfect, there needs to be more night security, and they need to enforce the speed limit more. The bathrooms need to just get spruced up a little! Also, they need to pay more attention to the lake, I went around multiple times and cleaned up trash in the water. But all in all I highly recommend this resort!
We are new members! Enjoyed staying for both Halloween weekends at Lakshore. Love the fact its close to my home and work. However i received a email yesterday regarding my family camping with us. We pulled her camper in cause she doesnt have a vehicle to handle. No one at security informed us we could not pull in another camper for family member. Unfortunately they forgot to register the camper at camp store. Now they want to charge us $100 no show fee. We admitted our fault but no one is flexible Customer service claims security red tagged camper well that never hapoened either. New member not happy..willing to pay the $25 per night fee but outdoor wont accept that. After paying a large amount for a membership its sad that they are not flexible.
I always enjoy coming here. I came out for a weekend with just me and my mom and ran into some friends. My sister and her family came out for a day of swimming and putt putt. We are very happy with this place it has came a ling way since our last visit. The staff were very friendly. The only downside was they dont offer wood deliveries even if you are disabled.
Its a great concept. We went there after winning a chance at come cash or a truck. They didnt tell us, however, that we would be getting a tour of the place and try to sell us a membership. Therefore, we were unprepared. The staff were very enthusiastic, that is, until they realized we wouldnt be putting any money down THAT DAY. Then we were quickly whisked to the door and sent on our way. They called us 3 or 4 times beforehand to confirm everything and to see how we were doing, but since that day, weve heard nothing from them. Nothing. Had they treated us a little better in the end, we definitely would have came back the next week with $5k cash to put down. But I think we will keep our money and spend it where we are looked at as humans, not paychecks.
We were there 7/11/18 to visit a family member who is a member. There was a misunderstanding at the gate and we felt the man and woman working the station at the gate were kind of rude.Once we got in though, everyone was very friendly. We had a blast at the beach, with the paddle boats (though my legs didnt thank me for it) the mini golf, and the playgrounds. The ice cream cones were generous for the price and a huge selection of flavors
Absolutely love this campground. There are 9 in Michigan but so far this one is by far the best I have been to. Cant wait to check out the one in traverse city. If you get a chance to come out here or the opportunity to get a membership is in your grasp I highly recommend getting one. Stuff for everyone in the family to enjoy.
Terrible. This place is a nightmare. It’s like an RV parking lot. Customer service is trash too. I left home a little ahead of my husband so I could find us a campsite and direct him easily. A security guard comes over and asks why my van is parked in a campsite and asks how long I’ve been here. I tell him an hour, my husband is at security right now, he got stuck in traffic. He responds with “you’re not allowed to reserve campsites” and when my husband pulled up just a few moments later he gave him a dirty look. Drove 3 hours for this and just want to turn around and go back home. We will never stay at this resort again.
Outdoor shores ruined my credit. They opened a credit card in my name and charged it way more than the membership costs and you can’t get out of it. I’m currently paying for a membership I will never even use because of how disgusted I am. Do not become a member here.
The management is awful and I would highly advise anyone considering a membership to take your money elsewhere. The so called security guards at resorts chose certain sites to target and leave other sites alone. We happened to be camping at the rifle river resort this past weekend and I’m not sure if it is because we had an African American friend with us or what but the security wouldn’t stop harassing us and it caused us to end our camping trip short by 2 days and pack up and leave at 11pm on my wife’s birthday. When I y corporate this afternoon they did not care at all about our feeling of safety. This was from the director of member services as well. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
We always enjoy our stay here weve made many friends the staff is always really helpful, friendly. the only thing wrong with this place, I guess Id have to say would be some of the patrons. forget to take into consideration of their neighbor. ( leaving their campsite unclean when they leave) but still one of my favorite part
Its a very nice and fancy campground. Many activities from fishing to kayaking. They have cabins and trailers available if you dont own one. They are fully furnished. Everything is included, you must be a member to use the facilities there. They partner with RCI and coast to coast. Which gives you access to a nation wide network of campgrounds you can access at 10$/night. The cost of the membership on my visit was 12000$(one time) with 492$ annually after that, additional fees were 150$ annually if you want the guide books and access to the web site. I sat through their presentation.
I would steer clear of buying a membership from this company! We have had nothing but issues this year, and now we cant even get them to contact us. Our last cabin was covered in ants (they knew about it because there were tons of ant traps, even under the mattress). They have really taken advantage of MANY people. Please beware, and talk to current members before you purchase a membership to see what you are really getting into. They lied about many amenities, have raised their dues, and the place looks like it is falling apart. Not to mention the lack of security around there now, and the mold in the air conditioningunits. (If you are really set on buying a membership, go online and buy one from someone who is selling theirs, it will save you thousands of dollars!)
First year with my membership absolute worst experience ever terrible customer service every person thats a member is allowed to bring 10 people so every weekend its over crowded in the people that actually pay for the membership dont ever get to use any of the facilities because half of Burton and Flint are there. Absolutely do not recommend ever using this place.
We bought a new 5th wheel and received the 21 days free camping deal. In order to receive it we had to attend basically a time share sale presentation. Buy into the park for $14k and it give us almost unlimited use of any of their campground resorts. While it was a nice looking park, it was also completely packed. Called out to a couple of other places in their Network and found openings next month. Ultimately we passed on the timeshare deal because we would rather have the options to travel to New places and new parks. I dont like the idea of going to the same 5 or so places every time.
If you have a complaint about getting a key in the mail and not winning a truck then well you are probably not someone I would take advise from or consider smart enough to review anything. Marketing is marketing and they get a lot of it from RV dealers and shows. That is their target audience. We purchased our membership when we bought our RV in March and got the free 21 days there just to go listen to their spiel. We had no intentions of buying but honestly when we saw how much there was for our family to do there and it is all free whenever you go, not just if you camp, even if you go for the day, I honestly couldnt really see a point in paying $45 a night to stay at a campground that had only a lake, pond or even only 1 small pool. The activities director is great and they have activities EVERYDAY in the summer that is organized and targeted at appropriate age groups. They keep the facilities clean (unless someone just went in and for some unknown reason trashed it). We had a broken water spout on our site when we arrived last time and they came out and fixed it without hesitation. The staff and security is great. We look forward to many years camping not just at Lake Shore but all of the resorts you get for that one price. Great value and I never thought I would win anything when I went there because I am an educated adult.
This place is a scam!! DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!! Luckily we only did a 2 year membership. In those 2 years, weve only used it 3 or 4 times because its so inconvenient to get reservations. Most times we call for reservations to Lakeshore in Lapeer and they dont have any. They say they guarantee a site at one of their sites, but I dont want to go to another site thats 4 hours away. Even if you do get a reservation to the campground you want, you have no idea which site you get until you show up. I have a 35 ft. trailer and almost couldnt camp because there were only sites that wouldnt fit our camper. Luckily there was one left but the sewage was clogged. Also, you pay the fee to get a membership and if you need to cancel your reservation because you ended up having to work the weekend, they still charge you a $50 cancellation fee. The lady my wife talked to was very rude and actually told my wife to bring my kids and set up a tent to prevent getting the fee. They dont actually care about their customers. Just take a look at the bad reviews and the companys responses. Thank God the Attorney General is taking a look at this.
Absolutely love having the Davison location so close to home, where I can run away for even just the day. The equipped gym is a very big plus and saves me from buying an entire membership. I can go to the gym at o.d.a, shower and hit the indoor pool. The cabins are always clean, guest efficient and maintained very well. Only complaint I have is the overcrowding and the high chemical levels in the pools. I can barely swim for longer than 20-30 minutes because my eyes are on fire if longer. Im aware its for cleanliness purposes, but its very extreme, especially the indoor pool. All around great place and worth our membership fee as well as dues, but we utilize it often. I feel my children are safe to wander a little and theres always something to do.
The campground is beautiful but the planned activities are a great idea but unorganized, they dont start on time, supplies and instructions were lacking, customer service isnt the best most of the time. The ice cream shop wasnt open on the hottests days of our trip, no notice no sign just closed during posted hours. Reservation was a nightmare. Hoping for better results our next visit as the membership has been paid for so we will be sure to get our monies worth.
I would really like to give more than 3 stars... this location has 5 star potential... but unfortunately fell a little short for us. We rented a cabin on the north shore section. It was good... clean, very cold AC. The bed was a little rough... but it is camping. Our problems were because both the indoor pool and the lazy river were closed the entire week of our stay. We were told the lazy river would be 3 weeks. While I understand that things break... 3 weeks is excessive during a peak season for a repair. The indoor pool was actually scheduled to be taken down during this time and has been down all summer. Oh well... they have lots of other activities here. A full activity schedule every day.... only on our first day no staff showed up to host the craft activity. We waited awhile and finally started calling around. We were met with a number of people who could not answer the question and didnt seem to care. I asked for a manager to call... which he did a couple hours later. The following days the crafts were staffed... but I did not see an effort to hold any of the other game type activities. Several members of the activity staff seemed like they were not happy to be there and we were inconveniencing them. One seemed ok but honestly didnt even speak. Just sat at the table with the craft supplies on the table and pointed to an example. There are no posted hours for anything... like the store, grill, ice cream, putt putt. No details posted about the activities... like that we needed to bring $5 per shirt to tie dye or what ages the activities were intended for. Last year things seemed to run so much smoother and staff seemed to be enjoying their day. Not sure what has changed... if I hadnt had last years experience, I probably wouldnt return based on this weeks experience.
Bought a new camper and picked it up in December. Went on a tour about a month ago. We went on the tour to get our two weeks free. ( which mind you we were told we would never get to use it most likely because we did not end up buying into a piece of cement slab). Went as far as filling out the credit form. Should have left earlier. Of course they push and push. They are in sales I get that. What we were not expecting was to get a credit card through good Sam in the mail. Called to inquire where the heck this came from and only place we were on that day was Outdoor adventure... For my boyfriend and I to have our credit ran the same day and to get credit cards and “free memberships” yeah nothing is free. Once we finally decided to say a firm NO for the 10th time they quickly swiped any type of paperwork we had on the table. The credit form is short and simple said nothing about no credit card on there. Maybe if it said free membership with being a member? We are not members!! They also never said anything verbally about Good Sam or any other type of “free memberships” and a credit card!! We are glad we did not go through with buying into this!! It’s like when you go on vacation you get sucked into viewing timeshares. Of course once you say no they get an attitude. It is a big place but not worth that money we like to camp at all different campgrounds with a group we do not want to be stuck trying to get into a place we pay for and trying to get a group to follow us to only certain places. Mind you they do tell you you can have people bring their campers for a small fee which is cool but then told us it would be hard to get them in with us? Hm ok that’s reassuring. Just a bunch a junk don’t lock yourself into I believe it’s 8 camp grounds in Michigan. And if you get the ultimate packages in more states. Explore a bunch of campgrounds they act like theirs is the only one with indoor pools, or playgrounds etc. You also have your yearly dues on top of monthly payment. So tack that on to everything else that goes into being a camper..
Me and my wife sat in on a 1hr sales pitch that lasted 3hrs. Was told we had the option to cancel for up to a month. They made everything sound amazing. Turns out that everything was all lies. A week later we called to cancel and they said i cannot cancel even tho i was told I CAN. Weve Very disappointed in ourselves for believing everything they said. EITHER WAY I WAS TOLD A LIE! ****ANYONE**** joining will flushing Money Down the Toilet. And your generic response can be better than that
More people, louder crowd and less rule enforcement than the outdoor adventures resorts further north. Facilities are clean and in good condition and camping lots are large and flat. Would have been a good week if it werent for the unattended groups of pre-teen/teenage children and noise. Will try again in the fall for a more relaxed experience as the location and property are perfect.
This resort is a fun place, especially for families with children. However, the difference from previous years to this year is appalling. It appears its no longer being weeded; our cabin had a broken bed frame, a loose railing, sliding door frame is rotting, and we could find no emergency number when our CO2/smoke detector alarmed in the middle of the night. Only a couple windows have screens. The lazy River and dome are both shut down (in middle of summer) for remodeling. We enjoyed the tye-dyed class, pools, beach, kayaks, and putt-putt golf course (although bricks are missing around edge of holes and weeds are everywhere!). The attendants at front gate seem knowledgeable and friendly. Trash is picked up daily.
I had gone on this trip wish my girlfriend. We were invited by close friends of the family to stay for the weekend. It was amazing. The clubhouse was fun since we were able to play ping pong and go swimming. Which was pretty awesome with all of the lights and what not. Even the hot tub! Ill probably be returning with friends on our own personal trip.
Had a fantastic time here. Honestly the nicest camping facility my wife & I have been to. The cabin we rented (86) was clean and well kept. Cable tv was an added surprise. Park was very well run and clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful answering any inquiries I had. Was disappointed the indoor pool was closed for the duration of our stay but the two outdoor pools more than made up for it. We both loved the 18 hole putt putt course but wished they would of leaf blowed the course some. Debis made the course more challenging but that could be also viewed as a benefit by someone else. The snack bar offered a very large variety menu with very very reasonable prices. Chili cheese fries for 3 bucks as an example. Something lost on quite a few campgrounds that we didn’t experienced here was “unfriendly campers”. For such a large and diverse campground, everyone we came into contact with seemed happy and having a good time. My wife and I are already planning our next visit here as well as our fall visit to Saginaw Bay.
TO THE RESPONSE FROM OWNER, THATS A BIG LIE..DO NOT FRONT ON GOOGLE REVIEW BECAUSE YOUR POOR MANAGEMENT HAS BEEN REVEALED. I RECEIVED ONE CALL AND THAT WAS BEFORE YOU KNEW WHAT I WAS CALLING ABOUT. WHEN I CALLED BACK AND LEFT ANOTHER VOICEMAIL BECAUSE NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE AND I MENTIONED BED BUGS NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK. STOP YOUR LYING. I LEFT MESSAGES ON CUSTOMER SERVICE VOICEMAIL AND SEVERAL ON MANAGER RICKS VOICEMAIL...NOTHING..YOU KNOWINGLY KEEP RENTING THESE CABINS KNOWING THEY HAVE BED BUGS AND I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.... I rented a cabin for a weekend getaway with my husband for our anniversary and turned out to be worse in my life. I was bitten up by bed bugs! I have never been through this and never knew what it would be like and its been a nightmare ever since. This place has the worst customer service I have ever seen! For all the money we spent on this membership, we are treated horribly! They knew what happened because I told them at checkout and based on all that money for a membership you would think they would call you but to see how you are or even apologize but nope! You cant even get a live person on the phone through customer service...i called over and over and left messages..no answer no response. I regret paying so much for this membership and if you are thinking of getting one dont waste your money! These people are nice to you until you spend your money, then they dont care for you.
Overall the experience was average. The bathrooms were dirty and the place was overcrowded, but it was fun for the kids and thats the main reason we went out. The ice cream was only $1 and we felt safe during the entire trip. However, so much money goes into this place that you would thing adding lights to the basketball court at night or simply changing the molded curtains in the bathrooms would be a simple task to ask for.
If I could rate them a zero I would but Google wont let me! I was annoyed immediately upon arriving because I was promised that this was not a scam/timeshare/rental thing it was about the prize and spreading a good word about the park and from the moment we arrived you all attempted to sell us on purchasing a package with you all for camping/activities for vacations. The gentleman that spoke with us was very nice and could Im sure ultimately tell we were uninterested and so he pushed through his speech with us as fast as possible and genuinely tried with us. But still all we got from a promise of prizes between only 20 people! were gift cards that are absolutely worthless and wasted 2 hours if not longer of our time with a 2.5 year old in tow and Im heavily pregnant. It was downright a lie and false advertising. Not to mention it looks like their kids areas arent kept up at all and the cabins are literally ontop of each other there no room to enjoy.
We love coming here always a good time. We are members and just curious when the lazy river will be working again? When will indoor pool be up and running? We like to come in the winter months and will be bummed if no pool. Only complaint I had this stay was the pools where filthy. Very cloudy I literally had peoples hair stuck to me I was so grossed out.
My family had my nieces third birthday party at outdoor adventures. Everything went great. We where able to use the indoor pool area and arcade which the kids really enjoyed. My sister in law was able to bring her home cooked food without any issues and there was plenty of seating area for the family.
We were drawn in through a contest. Did not win of course & did not end up buying the package because you HAVE to buy that day is what we were told. A $12,000 purchase, financed or not, is usually not a decision you should make in a day... At least for us. So... Very disappointing because if wed had some time to go home & think about this & look at our finances closely first, we probably wouldve signed & done it. But we dont know until we can sit down & make an informed decision... Frustrating. But I will say that the package & resort truly looks wonderful & the employees are very friendly.

2022-01-21If youre looking for Michigan fun, take my 1 star and change it to a ?... If youre looking to travel the US and youre on a tour invite, youre most likely chatting with the salesman of the year and you should keep reading this.Long story short, they went through their spiel and said it was a one-time offer (which was a lie). I slowly declined due to skepticism, and as a result, was shown the door as if they were saying, cool, get out; A 90-minute tour that only lasted 20. The reason? Well, if you take the time to look into everything theyre offering you, a lot of it IS A LIE...They offer all of their Coast-to-Coast resorts at $10 a night. After I declined and took a closer look, I saw that many of the camping websites are down, many campground names were changed (probably to get out of this deal), the up-to-date sites will tell you that youll be paying $25-55 a night, and many others that you call will just laugh at you and say, NO, were not doing anywhere near $10 a night...Back to my short story: If youre looking to travel the US and think that this 20K/Lifetime (+ 750/each year for Coast2Coast & Maintenance), $8K/10 Years Trial (Actually ~15,500+ after Coast2Coast & Maintenance), or even 5K/5 Years Trial (Actually ~9,000+ after Coast2Coast & Maintenance) will allow you to do that cheaply, please, walk away now.Take the $50 gift card, hold your head up high as youre swiftly pushed through the exit door, and know that youve just saved yourself from the vicious scam artists that this place houses.Bottom Line: From what the salesmen offered, I couldve traveled the US with the price tag of 445 a month. In reality, the prices (outside of MI) with this membership will be well over 750... But theyll blatantly lie to your face and say otherwise. I hope this helps someone!

2022-04-25Nice large camp ground. The store is small but they do provide a lot. There is all kinds of outdoor activities plus an indoor pool. When planning a trip make sure it is not in their off season. Water is turned off and some of the out buying on the north side are closed. We had some bad weather along with high winds and snow but it is a really nice place. Well worth the visit. Check the website before booking. This is a good call. They are busy and you need to plan ahead.

2022-03-27We stayed in one of the A-Frame cabins. The weather was still cold so we didnt participate in amy outdoor activities. The cabin was warm, clean and nice. It was great! Cabin has a kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, pots and pans, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, silverware, toaster, and a coffee maker. Everything worked like it should. Would have been nice if there was some dish soap but the on-site store had everything else we needed. We tried out the indoor pool and hot tub. It was disappointing. Very crowded. Water looked dirty in both the pool and hot tub and didnt have a that fresh chlorine smell...more of a musty smell. Everything else was great! We look forward to coming back with our camper when the weather is warmer.

2022-03-25Clean and members only resort camping. Watch your speed, enjoy the heated indoor pool and open all year long resort. Water is not on until May! Great work out center and awesome place off season. Peak season would not be like camping.

2022-04-09Its difficult to rate, as the differences between the staff members were staggeringly huge. The first person we spoke with was Ron.. he was great, very friendly, knowledgeable about the site, as well as their other locations. Then the salesman comes in to close the deal. He was absolutely awful! Jerry, he was condescending, rude, sexist and beyond pushy. Then we dealt with Josh- who was fantastic. Kind to both us of, knowledgeable, as well and so nice and answered all of our questions. The property itself was very well maintained and nice. It was huge. Lol we took a look inside one of the cabins, too and it was just so nice. It would be perfect for a little getaway. They have lots of events for all ages. We wished some of the cabins and camp sites were a little more private, but a lot of campgrounds are similar. Ill review again after we go for the amenities and spend a night or two. The common rec area was nice, but couldve been a little cleaner. We almost walked out after Jerry, but we decided to go forward with a trial-type membership.Ill update my review after we do that. Honestly I would have given Jerry no stars and Josh and Ron five, if possible.

2022-06-06The hot tub was broken. The horse shoe area was full of roots and no way to play. The bathrooms needed cleaned. The play house area was gross. Carpet needed replaced. I will not buy a membership nor recommend to anyone.

2022-05-16Visited this location for a birthday weekend trip. The ppl at the front desk giving us parking passes were ok not the friendliest. We were assigned the cabin in the back of the campground not really near any amenities (we were supposed to bring our dog but we didn’t) From the outside it looked like a tiny house but on the inside it was spacious.Of course there are a lot of bugs but the top bunk bed of our cabin had a spider in the window that crawled onto the bed and scared us out of it.We visited the dome in between activities so it was empty besides the pool. Had to assist another AA guest who was rudely told about upcoming events. The kayak/paddle boarding/boat rentals were unavailable until Memorial Day 😢So overall the facility is nice but the staff are a bit rude and passive aggressive toward AA guest/families.
