Comment: We came April 19-21 for a Volleyball Tournament. Prior to the trip Selina Gonzales the Sales Director was incredible not only did we get a good rate but she made sure all the players, families, and coaches were taken care of upon and during our stay.The hotel is your typical beach hotel at first glance. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was wonderful! The facilities were clean and professional looking. The balconies were great. Everything was well stocked and organized. The location.....it is all about location location location. Walking distance to everything. The store, great restaurants, downtown and the beach! Would for sure go back!

Comment: Staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms have a mini fridge/ freezer and a microwave. No elevator, so if you have a stroller or disability ask for a first floor room. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything, your neighbors to the sides and above you, as well as street traffic and airplanes. There were hardly any towels, the water pressure was absolutely terrible, and the room was not very clean. Found lots of hair in the bed between sheets, womens hair, mens hair just disgusting. Asked for new sheets, which they happily provided. For the price I can see why people stay. But personally I would not be staying again.

Comment: There was ants, no hot water & hard pillows … I tried to get a good picture of the ants but it was hard for my phone to focus. When we first arrived I didn’t see any but the morning following when we got up we noticed lots of ants all over the floors. & just not pleasant to shower in semi warm water especially when it was cold & raining during our trip. Wish it was hotter.

Comment: This motel prides itself on excellent customer service and experience. The front desk host acted as more of a concierge and allowed me to check in early as well as saw me pull up to the motel later that day in my rental car and came out and filled out the parking form for me without me asking. The rooms are good quality as it looks like theyve been renovated fairly recently. They offer a Keurig brewer in the room and there is a nice little dinner within the same parking lot that has great service and delicious food. Overall a great stay at the Pacific Inn and would recommend anyone traveling in the area to stay there.

Comment: Plus points for me:- The room is clean and relatively complete (refrigerator, microwave, pod coffee machine)- The price is cheap- The location is close to Carmel, Pebble beach, and not too far from Big Sur- There are minimarket, restaurants, laundrymat, carwash, gas station nearbySo price to value is super good, hence 4 out 5 for meSome rooms for improvement (or something that I am okay to accept for the price)- No kettle for hot water (though they have a water cooler near the receptionist)- No regular housekeeping (you should ask them in the morning so that someone might clean your room)- The wall is not trying to hide a lot of sound from the outsideBut overall, an enjoyable experience that I can recommend to my friends and families

Comment: For the price, it’s hard to beat. The staff was friendly. The room was really clean and looked newly renovated. I’d like a firmer bed but seems like preference. The fridge was slightly larger than a mini fridge and came with a separate freezer. It was a convenient location given how short of a drive to Monterey and Carmel. The diner attached to it was pretty good. We always had a parking spot when we came back but there was only a couple to choose from.

Comment: The place is plain and boxy, but clean. However, the front desk staff was horrible. They demanded a deposit of $200 CASH because we live about 15 miles away. I asked why and she said it was a security deposit. I asked to speak to the manager, who later appeared, visibly reluctant to speak with me. I said that if we didnt trash the place when we stayed here last year, we were not likely to trash the place this year. (Hoping for a smile, which I didnt get.) Instead, the manager told me bluntly, I dont believe in favoritism. To which I responded, Im not asking for favoritism, Im asking for an exercise of discretion. Theres no justification to ask for a deposit from a couple in their sixties attending a jazz festival. Plus, I dont carry cash. The manager responded by pointing to a sign on the wall that said something like We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. I was stunned. Here I was trying to check-in as a repeat customer and instead of being welcomed, I was being threatened. Finally, after some length, we were checked-in, but told that next time we would be required to pay the cash deposit. Needn’t worry, I said. There won’t be a next time.

Comment: Renovated M(!)otel, wannabe hotel.Rooms are decent for a motel, rushed and cheaply renovated but since its done recently its clean and new.Rooms are large I must say.Not quite soundproof (can hear upstairs clearly) but thats a general problem in the US with wooden construction.This should be the (minimum) standard for all motels in the US, unfortunately there are much worse around. However, that does not justify all the 5-star ratings for this one.

Very close to a dinner which services great food with low prices and big portions. There’s also a kitchen right on the property incase walking 4 minutes isn’t for you. Also convenient access to multiple gas stations and grocery stores within walking distance.The service was incredible. The person who checked us in, Karun, was not only friendly and nice but extreme helpful through our two night stay. Karun made our experience great.

Comment: Stayed here for 5 nights. Location is very convenient IMO mainly due to the laundromat located right across the street with reasonable prices. CONS the parking is a little tight on a busy night. In my case, every night was busy. There was no toilet paper holder, but maybe that was just my room🤷‍♀️. And the on site washer was broken, hence the laundromat. Would stay again as the staff was very pleasant to deal with and the room/ linens were clean.

Comment: Large, clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot water, friendly staff, and updated furnishings. A motel setup with more of a hotel feel. The parking lot is a little small, but I didn’t have any issue finding a spot both nights I was there. Coin laundry and vending on site (accepts cards). It is a short and convenient drive to the touristy Monterey area. The only downside was some road noise, but that wasn’t a bother for me. Would stay here again!

Comment: Not sure you can call this a hotel as it has more of a motel ambience and amenities. Its far better in quality than a motel 6 in cleanliness and comfort, but not to the standards that Id expect from a Comfort Inn. First issue I encountered was the fish smell that greeted me upon entering the lobby and the second was the thin walls made it easy to hear the activities the occupants staying in the room above mine. Location of the Inn is decent and is approximately 3 miles away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Still a good budget stay when visiting the area for a weekend stay.

Our room did have a urine smell coming from one corner next to bathroom which was unpleasant and concerning. Pillow covers also had some stains. Around 4am the power turned off and back on which triggered the TV in the room below us to turn on at max volume. It was so loud that it prevented us from sleeping. Luckily the front desk fixed the problem immediately without any issues.

Comment: Absolutely horrible experience. Paid $200 for a night. Front desk staff was nice enough and the rooms are clean, but the place is far from most things, and it is loud as a stadium all night. Every step of the people upstairs is amplified to a loud thud, and the whole room vibrates whenever water gets turned on. That’s just the beginning. Cars are revving their engines all night long on a busy street and you can hear everything louder than if you are outside seemingly. Our family of 4 including young kids couldn’t sleep at all. That’s the most important purpose of a hotel. I can’t imagine how people rated this place highly. Would be better off sleeping in your car.

Comment: Starting with the beds, the linens were fresh and richly textured, with thick warm puffy comforters. The bathroom fixtures we new and modern, with great lighting. Elsewhere dimmable lights help set the right mood along with the effective window shutter treatments when you want to sleep in.Video channel selection was great and easy to connect our laptop with the free WiFi. Breakfast is not included, but “Grandma’s Kitchen” restaurant shares the parking lot with the hotel.Environment: Monterey North Fremont street is about one mile from HWY 1 and quite on both Friday & Saturday nights when we stayed. This is a family friendly hotel that has laundry and dryer machines on sight for guest use. The staff was friendly, from reception to house keeping and welcomed our comments.

Lightbulbs out.Visited this area to see a good friend and thought we’d be able to have dinner out at a nice place as planned. Our dog is well-behaved and rarely whines. But they have a policy that the dog can NEVER be left in the room alone so we had to change our plans for the whole visit which caused a bunch of stress. Disappointed in their lack of flexibility or warning system and won’t be staying again.The dog walking area is also tiny and right next to the parking lot new guests pull into which might be distracting when your pet is trying to get relief.While on parking - there clearly isn’t enough for everyone to end up by your room and you might have to park closer to a diner nearby.If you book through an agency - double check the pet fee because ours didn’t show the 40 dollars a night or the policy.Highlight of the place is the diner its next to - grandma’s kitchen banged.👎👎

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the air conditioning was phenomenal, and we enjoyed our stay very much. You can hear water running through the pipes, floors creaking and doors closing. If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, I do not recommend staying here. Also there is not enough parking. We returned after midnight and had to park on the street.

Comment: Bathroom is nice, room smells. Lady at front desk made a big deal about not having pets on the property even accused me of having a pet with me ( even tho I didn’t have one with me). Only had one medium towel and two small towels. Bed had only two pillows, when I asked for two more because I need them for my bad back, was told they didn’t have anymore and there’s nothing they can do about it. Will not be coming back nor recommend this place to anyone.

Comment: We stayed here just one night. Check in was fairly simple and price was pretty cheap for the area. We arrived super late so just needed the room for a quick shower and then to sleep. The room appeared clean with some minor cosmetic issues (paint chipping on walls). The room lacked enough towels, but we were able to go get more from the lobby. Cant say if the WiFi worked because we didnt attempt to use it at all. Main issues we ran into were noise and parking. We were on the lower level and we could hear noise above us and on both sides of us. We could hear stomping, talking, etc all night. We could also hear traffic and planes. Needless to say, we barely slept. There was also not enough parking and we had to walk a distance at 2am which was not ideal.

Comment: Pretty impress to be honest. The vibe of the place looks clean and welcoming just looking at the establishment. The room is clean and spacious. I think its location is quite nice too. The monteray aquarium is about 15 mins drive from it so not too far where most people go. Foodwise theres a bunch of restaurants around it. Theres the diner literally by the parking lot, chinese food accross the street then japanese food one block over. If i could think of a negative aspect MAYBE parking could get crazy at night when everyone is back from their trips? But even then theres a bunch of parking by the entrance.

I had to come to the Monterey area because of an emergency and I’m very glad I picked this hotel the price point for everything provided was great. Parking was a little cramped but we were lucky to have free parking in a parking lot with security cameras on the property so it made you feel safer. I plan on staying here again when I return to the area shortly. I was very happy overall with the pacific inn and I’m very picky over hotels and places I stay.

Comment: We booked this place for the holiday weekend. We were pleasantly surprised of how clean and quiet the suite was. Keep it up owner(s). The establishment was accommodating to our allergies and toddler. The place is conveniently close to a supermarket (Safeway), gas station, and restaurants. The Inn is close by to tourist attractions, but far enough from from busyness. Checking in (arrived late) and out was hassle free. The small issue was parking is limited if youre arriving later in the evening.

Comment: This was one of the worst hotels ive stayed at in Monterey. The room was fine from the looks, but get in the bed and its lumpy, bouncy, and hard but not supportive, a very odd mix. The pillows were similar, lumpy, hard, unsupportive. The bathroom was fine, fairly clean and the water got warm quickly. The main issue I have is that the walls and floors are so thin that, apparently, the rooms below you can hear you just making normal steps. The front desk was called on us and one time was at 8:30PM. By no means is that even quiet hours by anyones standards, and we were literally not doing anything. just normal walking. If simply walking is enough to disturb someone SO MUCH that they feel the need to call the front desk, the building is built too cheaply. Also, the front desk should inform guests who call at that time that 8:30 is not a quiet hours time. If youre SOOO concerned with not hearing your neighbors, stay somewhere else more expensive or shut up.

Quiet at night and good cable TV service. Room was cleaned daily, with new towels. Close to Monterey Jazz festival which I walked to daily. Great location.

Comment: Had a really great experience here. Our room was recently renovated and remodeled, was very spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and kind. The rooms were SO clean. My only complaint was that our WiFi connection wasn’t good but it is free WiFi so you can’t complain too much. Great location and breakfast at grandma’s next door was delicious! Oh and it was a quiet inn. No noisy neighbors which was nice! Definitely would stay there again.

Comment: The room looks nice on the surface, however there is more than meets the eye.After checking in, we started unpacking. To my surprise there were pubic hairs in the drawer. Not using that. Later i found trash behind the bed. And to top it off the bed made and aluminum *thud* sound every time we got on it from one side. The mirror was dirty in one corner. Overall the place isnt cleaned well.Shortly after checking in it would seem there was a buffalo stampede in the room above us. Thankfully that didnt past long. This is a family and pet focused hotel, which is fine but its not for me. The biggest problem was the cleanliness of the room itself.

Comment: This hotel had dirty walls and a smoking smell that did not go away even after we brought Febreze which we bought from 7-Eleven. The hostess was not able to move us to another room and told us no one was available to clean the rooms until an hour. We drove two hours already and we wanted to rest and go out to eat dinner. The TV looked cheap with a line in the middle of the display. The shower has a weak pressure and you can hear all the plumbing pipes all night when someone flushed. There is not enough parking spaces and it seems shady people come here to party which we noticed walking from 7-Eleven. The smoke smell was the worse and it gave the fear the room was not properly cleaned with a risk of COVID. Definitely never staying here ever again!

I have two big complaints of this place that would keep me from staying here again.My first and biggest complaint is the walls are so thin I can hear people in the next room talking. And it wasnt like they were yelling, it sounded like they were just talking normally and having a normal conversation. I just kept laying there trying to relax just wishing the people next to me would just finally go to bed so I didnt need to listen to them. It was a bit obnoxious. And then I was woken up at 6:00 from the guy next to me talking on the phone with someone, and I could hear the muffled sound on the other end. It was actually the worst hotel stay I have had when it comes to noise. It sounds like the only thing separating the rooms are two pieces of sheetrock.My second complaint would be the parking lot is so tight you better hope there isnt anyone leaving or going at the same time as you.The rooms are nice and look like theyve been upgraded recently.The price is nice - cheap but the rooms dont look cheap. To me it feels more like Im staying in a spear bedroom at someones house.So if you dont care about small and tight parking lots and if noise of hearing the people next to you talk all night doesnt bother you (and believe me, you WILL hear people next to you), then this is the place is fine for you.

Comment: I stayed in this hotel Pacific Inn 3 times and this is my fourth stay 9/5-8/2020. The room is always clean, bed comfortable and restroom clean and nice. The inn is not so inviting outside since it is very simple nothing grand at all. However, inside are all wipe out and floor so clean. Beddings and towels also properly wash and arrange good. Staff are friendly and good air conditioning . Surrounding around property so neat. Near grandma homemade restaurant. Near both Fishermans wharf and Monterey cannery.

The rooms have been redone recently (hardwood floors, gorgeous bathroom), and show a definite level of care for their facilities.Pros: Really cute room. I appreciated the desk/table space in the room, full-size dispensers in the bathroom for soaps and lotions, refrigerator and microwave, super-plush bed, abundance of plugs and outlets, and included premium TV channels!Cons: My biggest upset with this hotel was the 8:24 AM wake-up call in the form of the cleaning crew attempting to come into my room to clean up on the morning of my checkout! There is NO reason for cleaning a room on the morning of checkout before the 11 AM checkout time. Even if we’d been up and out to breakfast, why would you come into the room before you have to do a full clean in 2.5 hours?! Definitely not okay, and left a super bitter taste in my mouth for the whole establishment.Other Things:Parking is free, but very tight and sporadic. They own the parking lot for “Grandma’s Kitchen” next store, so there were spaces to park, but they’re set a little far away from some of the rooms.There is apparently a washer/dryer on the premises (my boyfriend saw those) near the ice and soda machines.Also, we had a less than stellar experience with the check-in employee (around 8:30 PM on Monday, July 22) who couldn’t take the time to tell me that my credit card number was incorrect from the online entry, and instead just told me it was declined. He also didn’t offer a printed receipt for the stay. The employee the following morning was much more helpful, took the time to clear out the incorrect card number and re-swipe my card, and gave me a printed receipt.Overall, I might stay here again if it came down to it, but if there was another hotel for the same price, I might also just reconsider.

It doesnt have a pool or spa and the parking is limited but the price is good and rooms are comfortable. The remodeled rooms have a laminate hard wood look floor (which I wish ALL hotels would ditch the carpet) queen size beds were comfortable, sheets were white. No nasty top comforter on top. Nice size mini fridge and freezer. Kuerig and microwave. Flat screen tv and free hbo. Simple desk and table. Vanity outside of bathroom. Bare bones shower and toilet but they were clean. We didnt have enough towels or a shower curtain but they brought those out when we called. Easy check in and out. Overall a pleasant place for a quick stay.

Comment: Decent area of Monterey. Room feels likes like a two star hotel, no frills, but clean and spacious. They also have a fenced pet area for your dog to relieve itself, which was a nice feature if youre traveling with your pet. For the price, its a good deal in Monterey. We would stay here again.

Comment: Stayed in two seperate rooms, both were nice, updated etc. The heater didnt work in second room. Pet friendly. Staff was pleasant but like any other hotel ran by foreigners, a little pushy especially when ypu werent a source of revenue for them.. like right before check out... was nice that the basic toiletries were there (large pump bottles of shampoo and condit. Soap, And lotion...)virtually no parking so be prepared for that.. good lighting in restroom, no breakfast (bummer) but reasonably priced. Microwave and fridge was awesome to have in such an affordable room. Id definitely recommend.

Comment: For the price, fantastic location and inn! The beds where king size for my 2 rooms. It wasnt as firm as I wanted it to be, but comfortable enough! Television has lots of great including many HBO channels etc. A.C. works great! Furniture looks pretty new, but nothing expensive or spectacular. Overall, clean hotel and the paint outside looked fairly new as well when I stayed 12/2017. Also, did not have an issue finding parking at the Pacific Inn lot. Delicious food options within 2 miles of Inn! For the price, location, and cleanliness, would definitely stay here again!

Comment: I have stayed at this place on several occasions..they used to serve free breakfast in a.m. not anymore and they jacked their rates up..after a runaround with front desk.. ended up at fireside Inn..they serve breakfast and the room was half the price..I know where I will Not be staying in the future..thanks..for nothing Pacific Inn...

Comment: Nice and comfy motel just 10 minutes (with car) from the coast. Beware that if you get a room upstairs, you have to be able to lift your luggage and bring it up the stairs. No breakfast here, but there is coffee at the front desk. Ask for a coupon before going to the Fishermans Wharf for dinner.

Comment: Great room. Comfortable, clean, and roomy. The rooms were kind of like little studio apartments. The walls were kind of thin so we could hear a lot of commotion when other guests were arriving or leaving. Parking is limited and no breakfast was served but otherwise it was a nice hotel that was close to Monterey bay. Would go again definitely.

Comment: Enjoyed my stay here very much. There were extra pillows, blankets, plenty of towels, hangers,iron and ironing board, and hairdryer. The room and bathroom were very clean. There is an ice machine, washer and dryer on site. The staff was welcoming. Would stay here again.

Comment: Awesome little hotel in Monterey. The rooms are big and super clean. Free parking on premises and its a short drive to the warf area. Ive been vacationing in California for the past week and this room at Pacific Inn was the nicest one for a cheaper than average price. I highly recommend it!

Comment: Advertised free breakfast is a lie. No free breakfast. False advertisement. Parking was difficult. I had to park in front of the restaurant next door. At check-in, no one was at office and doors were locked. No bell to press. After a few hellos, I had to look up their phone number to call. No pick up first time. A guy picked up with a sleepy voice second time I called, then he came out of the office rubbing his eyes. I dont recommend this inn.

Comment: The hotel is actually very nice and affordable. The rooms have been recently renovated. There is no carpet, which helps the room stay nice and tidy. There is a fridge/freezer and microwave. Definitely a good place to spend the night.

Comment: This motel came with great reviews, but frankly one had to wonder exactly why.The Air conditioning and heat were unplugged and thus off, the bath fan had a loose blade that rattled like thunder, and the toilet seat was so loose it was like sitting on a roller coaster. Parking was free, but scattered due to the design and layout of the building. No Continental Breakfast was available when we were there.Grandmas Kitchen on the property was not the best, and we ate at the Happy Dragon across the street. Location of this motel is ok, and getting to the downtown multi-story parking garage {$7 for the day} and the Free Trolley is an easy drive. {There are paid city bus service to the Aquarium area within walking distance}To be fair, there was a Keurig in the room, a European toilet, and a helpful person at the front desk.

We would have chosen another hotel.Lots of weird people walking around.Very Busy street traffic.The shower water pressure is horrible.Its 10:15 pm music still blasting. Ugh!Not happy!

We had 2 small dogs and when we explained the situation they would not work with us. We ended up arguing with them until they issued a refund.

Comment: So I usually try to give good reviews but this place had a couple dings that I couldnt ignore. Things like terrible WiFi (couldnt do my work at all), hairballs in the shower, and awful water pressure. The maid came to the room 3 times in a half hour even after being told we didnt need her service, before letting herself in while my wife was changing. No breakfast even though the website mentioned it... Plus a lack of other amenities/customer service made it eh. But it was a place to sleep.

Comment: The rooms seem newly refurbished, but our reservation was for a queen bed and were given a full, when we went to the front desk to see if it was just a mistake. Instead of trying to help us with the problem the man at the front desk insisted that I was wrong and refused to check to make sure, rolled his eyes and was very rude over a simple thing to check. Also it seemed like the person from the front freaked lived in the room right above us and played loud music until 2am when another guest pounded on their to tell them to keep it down, the music came back on 10 minutes later until the guest came back at close to 3 am and demanded the music get turned off. Overall put a pretty based taste in my mouth, wouldnt stay in here again.

Comment: The hotel was recently renovated and looks nice on the inside. Unfortunately, thats the kindest thing I can say about it. We booked a queen room but the bed was actually a full. Coffee cups/pods were never replaced after the first day and the front desk charged for them. Customer service was not good--the front desk guy was rude and patronizing. And the people in the room above us played loud music around the clock on what sounded like a full stereo system, even after hotel guests asked them to stop twice in the middle of the night. I used to work in the hospitality industry, so I tend to err on the side of being forgiving about this stuff, but it was one thing after another and the staff didnt seem to have any desire to meet the guests halfway.

Comment: Pretty clean inside, fridge doesnt work, room has keureg coffee maker but only 2 decaf capsules. Asked at reception additional with caffeine. Was pretty noisy in night time and I hear mans hard snoring and working TV. Bath is fully equipped (hairdryer works good). Good for its price.

Comment: Great value for the money. Rooms have been updated and are pleasing. They are nice and clean. The air conditioning works great. Windows have new wood shutters so dont expect your room to get dark. Rooms have a small fridge and microwave. They no longer offer the continental breakfast. Only negative is there is not enough parking on the premises. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Comment: It is located almost on the border between Monterey and Seaside. It is just up the street from Black Bear Dinner and several other little places. It was a nice room and the staff was friendly and professional. The room was clean and the rate was remarkably low which was lucky for us. Would recommend if you are looking for a decent place to stop at. Not a B&B just a nice inn.

Comment: We arrived late evening, and checking out the room was alright seemed clean until me and my girl friend checked out the bed. Found pubic hairs right next to pillows, and the sheets did not smell clean at all. Asked to have them ALL replaced, found out there was a sleeping pad under the mattress, and they dont replace the top comforter. While the two employees were changing sheets, were speaking in native language curios as to what they were saying -_-... asked for a full refund, had a little bit of attitude overall wouldnt recommend staying at all. Theres a comfort in by the sea right down the way 30$ more :) go there! friendlier staff, clean rooms for a dog friendly room.

Comment: Room was nice - they appeared to be renovating. When booking, we mentioned that we were traveling with our small, quiet dog and that we needed an appropriate room. We pre-paid, but upon arriving, the manager attempted to increase our price significantly. After some arguing, we settled on paying a small amount more each night to have our dog with us. The cold tap consistently ran hot. The breakfast consists of waffles, cereal, coffee, juice, etc.

Comment: Dont let the outside fool you. This was a very nice motel. Being in the back room it was peaceful and quiet. The rooms are spacious and above all else clean with lots of room. They do have a continental breakfast, which is okay, but since there is a small refrigerator and microwave the breakfast was really not a big deal. This is a place I would return to when I come to Monterey again.
