Lisa is outstanding in helping you with your decision, and her and her team in helping train you to get the fullest out of your machine. Paradise has classes to further hone your sewing skills while enjoying the company of others.Paradise Sewing is a one-stop shop for all your supplies, and sewing needs, as well as servicing of your machine by Eddie to keep it running in top condition.Peter helped me with my recent move, giving me packing material to pack up my machine safely. Comment: I heard about Paradise Sewing from a Reddit thread years back and Im so glad I did. My wife had been sewing on the same machine for over 20 years and we finally upgraded. We purchased a Baby Lock Serger form Paradise Sewing 3 years ago and knew without a doubt we were going back when we were ready for our second machine from Peter.I first need to say: Peter and his team CANNOT be beat. My wife and I live in Los Angeles and will forever drive to Poway to buy machines from Peter. If we ever move out of state and need another machine, well fly into San Diego to buy from Peter. His customer service is second to none, and once you buy a machine from him, the customer service doesnt stop.No other sewing retailer gives the care Paradise does. I truly believe Peter loses sleep over making sure his customers are happy and will go above and beyond. Whenever we are in the store, every customer seems to treat him like family, and he does the same to them. Hes the absolute best & we are customers for life!

From that very first day I have continually been impressed with his integrity and passion to not only run a great store for all those who love sewing, but to care about making a difference in the community as well. He works hard to ensure you get the best machine for your needs, at the best price, without pressure. He is honest about the strengths of each machine and is extremely knowledgeable. I even took one of my very old favorite machines in and he actually knew all about that old model and exactly what it would take to fix it. His staff are always helpful and enthusiastic as they answer questions and share ideas for great sewing projects.When you purchase a new machine, Lisa Stewart, the store manager gives free lessons to model all the machines functions and ensure you learn how to use them well. She is patient and extremely knowledgeable. She also has great project ideas and fabric choices.Ive been sewing for over 60 years now and have to say this is the first time Ive felt I could confidently recommend a sewing machine establishment and its staff for having such tremendous integrity and service. I have already referred many of my friends and family to this store and each one loved the machine they bought and were thrilled when the price was less than they had found anywhere! I havent been able to take a class yet, but have had the privilege of being in the store when a class finished and saw that every participant had created beautifully unique projects. Comment: I’ve been a customer of Paradise Sewing for many years, buying fabric and taking classes. But it wasn’t until Peter became the new owner that I purchased a new sewing machine. I know it’s easy to say that Peter has the best deals on every machine but I actually patiently shopped around and couldn’t find any store to come close to Peter’s prices. When I was ready to trade up from Pfaff Performance Icon to a Creative Icon 1, I was afraid I was going to take a huge hit on my “ not so old” machine, but Peter offered me a generous trade in value and great price on the new machine. After a year or so, I wanted to trade up again to a Creative Icon 2. I called other dealers to see what I could get for my machine as a trade in thinking that since my machine was relatively new I could get a fair price to purchase the icon 2. I couldn’t believe the difference between Peter’s prices and other dealers. I’m talking thousands of dollars difference. Peter’s belief is that when a customer feels they got a good value for not only a trade in but on any machine, those customers are customers for life. I also bought a Baby Lock Coronet mini long arm, again at a fantastic price and after some lessons from Lisa, I can enjoy making quilts from beginning to end. Any concerns I’ve had with any machine, Peter has assured me that it will get resolved. He takes care of his customers every step of the way, from recommending a machine to meet your needs, to maintenance of the machine, to trading up, and more importantly helping with any issues you may have with anything you purchase from him. He doesn’t end his customer service when you leave the store after your purchase. I can count on him to make right and stand by his products.

Comment: I don’t have enough kind words to say about Peter and Lisa. I went in just to see about trading in my regular sewing machine and came out with 3 baby lock machines. They thoroughly and patiently showed me different machines, never rushed me, had me try them out and let me ask as many questions as I had. And I had many. So after everything was said and done, I walked out with Soprano, Triumph and Aurora. I also got a lesson from Lisa on how to use my embroidery machine since it was my first one. It definitely has a family atmosphere and I appreciate that they care more about educating you than trying to sell a product. Peter made it so simple and easy to trade in my machines and get these 3. It feels good to know that they care about you and making sure you’re comfortable with what you’re buying, how you’re using it and getting familiar with every little detail. Comment: Paradise Sewing has been my PFAFF sewing machine dealer for many years. I recently purchased a new PFAFF machine after my 20+ year-old Creative 7570 finally gave up the ghost. My new machine is the Creative ICON2 sewing and embroidery machine. Peter Chan, the owner, gave me an incredible deal on my new machine, and sells several other brands of sewing machines as well. Paradise Sewing offers various classes, which are listed on the website. I took a free-motion quilting class, taught by Lisa Stewart today. Free-motion quilting takes a lot of practice, and Lisa gave a good overview of the basics today. I learned enough today that I can practice on sample quilt sandwiches, which will help me to complete the quilting on some placemats that I have pieced and basted. I am very happy that I have a relationship with Paradise Sewing, and that I can always get answers to any questions that I may have.

The class was great, really fun and informative. I tried to teach myself fmq and it was too much. Lisa made it fun and had a very relaxed approach. I would highly recommend the Beginners Free Motion Quilt class to anyone who wants to learn!

Comment: I would like to thank Mr. Peter and the staff of Paradise Sewing for helping me with repair on my Kenmore sewing machine. I had the machine in for repair at another store for skipping and bunching of stitching and the machine was repaired and returned to me but had the same problem. Mr. Peter looked at the machine and stated he had worked on these machines with his father and knew exactly what was wrong. He said he could fix it and he did. The repair took a couple of days. Mr Peter and the staff were friendly and very kind. Though my machine was 50 years old, Mr. Peter talked of its quality and said it would last another 20 years bringing a big and grateful smile to my face. Thank you Mr. Peter and staff of Paradise sewing! I also want to thank the sweet staff member who carried the machine out to my car. It was very heavy and she jumped in and said, Ive got it! If you live in San Diego you are lucky - people fly from all over the country to shop here because Peter has the best deals anywhere. I have called 3 different times and asked if they have something in stock and the man who answered assures me they do. I get there and they dont have it. Comment: Paradise Sewing is the best! I have gotten to know Peter and Lisa over the past 6 months. My husband purchased an early Christmas gift sewing machine from another store. I have had some issues with the bobbin case and returned to the store it was purchased from 3 times in the first two weeks. I continued to have issues but dealt with the problem and worked around the problem for the last 6 months. On a recent visit to Paradise Sewing I expressed my frustration with the machine and Peter said even though I hadnt bought my machine from him he would like to help me. He and Lisa reviewed the problem I was having and had A.J. take a look at my machine. What the other store couldnt find, A.J. found! No more dealing with the problem and no more work arounds!!Peters generous heart to the sewing community is genuine and he went above and beyond to assist me with a problem he had no reason to help me with. I was so frustrated with the other store, I didnt want to deal with them and Peter offered to see if he could help me. Comment: Ive been sewing N95 style masks until my Singer started giving me problems when winding the bobbin. After reading the entire Singer manual and comment threads pertaining to the Fashionista model, specifically the error code E2, I found out that the reason my bobbin shaft spun and immediately stopped to give that error code was because of the clutch, but it had to be taken apart to get to it, so I took it in to get serviced at this place (Paradise Sewing in Poway).After a lady looked at it, she then gave it to the Asian man there in the photo you see on the far right with all the Asian Ladies. He said the problem is that it needs a new part (winding bobbin shaft) and that its hard to find because at the time that model was made, Singer was under different Management so its going to cost about $60 if he cant find one in his stock. He also said its going to cost $90 in labor. Thats $150 to replace a part that it does not need. He then said, with the amount I was going to spend, I might as well buy another one, and he proceeded to offer the industrial size sewing machines from his store that are quadruple the price of my Singer Fashionista! I didnt come there to buy a new machine. I said I was going to take it somewhere else, took my machine, and left.I found a smaller store with a red sign next to a gas station, it was on the way to the Paradise sewing called Vaccum and sewing. The man at this place didnt take long to recognize what the error was when he noticed that the needle should not be moving at the same time the shaft is spinning. Without me telling him anything, he said it was the clutch and he only charged me $79. He was even going to lubricate it too. I left my sewing machine with him because he has a lot of orders ahead of mine and I live quite far from Poway. It should be ready by tomorrow.I still think about how wronged I felt and how the man from Paradise Sewing operates with such dishonesty. Had I not known what the problem was, I would have thought my machine could never be repaired and would have wasted a lot of money buying a new one. That is why I decided to write this review.

Comment: First visit to Paradise Sewing ever and was greeted by owner Peter. I was only looking to possibly replace my 30+ year old Pfaff 1471 machine. Showed me a few machines that were equal to what my old machine was, but much improved over the years. To make a long story short I walked out after purchasing a Pfaff Quilt Expression 720. Peter gave me such a deal that it was hard to walk away. I not only got the machine, he added into the deal the following. So I also got the table top extension, cone thread holder attachment and is having the insert made so that I can still use my original cabinet.We had planned a day to take drive and I looked up a few sewing machine stores to stop at. Paradise was on the list to stop at among with a few others. I had done my research online and had a good idea as to what I wanted and what they sold for. So when Peter gave me the price I was well aware of how good a deal it was, especially with the additional items.If you are in the market to buy a sewing machine I would check out Paradise Sewing in Poway. Well I looked up on line for a place that could possibly fix the problem I was having with the machine. Living in Vista I was skeptic about driving all the way to Poway. But let me tell you it was so worth it. The young lady that works there came out to my car and carried the sewing machine in for me. She looked at the machine and right away she knew what wasWrong, I was threading the bobbin wrong and the needle needed to be changed it. She didn’t charge me anything. I thought that was so nice and so unexpected. Great place for taking classes. I purchased two Husqvarna viking sewing machines from Paradise and waiting on my third machine. I couldnt be happier with their service. Wonderful staff.

Comment: Im in love with this shop. To begin with the staff are extremely kind, caring, knowledgeable, professional, helpful and fun.The shop carries machines for all levels. They also repair all makes and models.Their fabric selection is great with many different styles, colors and some of the best designers.The shop offers classes of all kinds to people of all skill levels.I spend almost every Friday there at their Sit and Sew and have met the most incredible women, and men.I recommend stopping by if you havent already done so.

Comment: Another dealer in the area from which I recently moved repaired my nearly new serger, but the repair did not resolve the issue, so I thought it couldnt be fixed. Fearing that I would have a major expense, but really needing my serger to work, I took it to Paradise Sewing. What a relief! My serger is back to its nearly new condition and working perfectly. And the cost was only a fraction of what I expected. I am so glad that I found Paradise Sewing!

Comment: The entire staff is wonderful. Not only are they instructors as well as helping with your purchases but they have become friends. Always there to help with fabric color choices, patterns and equipment. Taking classes has helped me make new friends as well as completing beautiful quilts.

Comment: I drove from Encinitas to Poway for help with my sewing machine because Paradise was so highly recommended to me. I was not disappointed. The problem ended up being a minor error on my part. They checked over the machine while I was there, found the problem and sent me back home with my machine during a time I really needed it for a big project. There was no charge for their help. They have a new faithful customer!!!

Jinnie, the owner was so nice and explained what I needed to know about the cabinets...Here I am, 2 years later and I knew that when I could afford the cabinets I would buy them from Paradise. Comment: Good place to shop for notions, fabrics and sewing machines. They seem to have good quality fabrics and threads at Paradise. Some of the staff is friendly and helpful. UPDATE: I recently needed to make a return from the notions department. When I approached the cashier she pointed out to me that there are no returns and that it is noted on the receipt. She begrudgingly gave me a one time refund on my small purchase. So, in the future I will keep this in mind. All sales are final. Be careful what you buy.

Comment: Jinnie, the current owner, is a certified tech, so when she is talking to you about a sewing machine, any sewing machine, she really knows her stuff. Lisa, the tech is equally amazing. I own eight machines that I use on a regular basis, and I collect machines from thrift stores and have them all serviced here. I also bring my sisters sewing machines down from LA so Lisa can service them. Modern and vintage machines are all safe and well cared for. They wont sell you something you dont need, and will be honest with you about your machines. All the people there have a love of sewing and fabric. There are classes and events and sew-ins.

Comment: I feel when you have your machine serviced they fix the problem and check the machine for updates! If you do embroidery that is important. I like to attend Pfaff Club because it motivates me to see and try new things. Not everything is a large project, sometimes you just want to have fun and try quick, cute things.Thats what you experience when you stop by the store.
