For being a newly renovated hotel it seems like they could have replaced the toilets with ones made for adults. It was a very uncomfortable height. Toilet & tissue paper were of the lowest grade. Towels were very scratchy. Room was clean, it was nice to have a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. Front desk check in was quick and the woman was very pleasant although one of our keycards was not activated. Missed my Select Comfort bed but if xtrafirm beds are your thing this place is for you. I did not sleep good the entire stay. There was no channel guide so it was difficult to find personal preferences. Food from the bar was very good. The continental breakfast was extremely limited.
If I could put a negative, it would definitely be a negative number!!! We had to move to a new room at 1:30 because we found BED BUGS in our beds Room 430. They tried saying that it wasnt a bed bug and werent sympathetic at all. we even looked it up and took pictures. They only gave us half off. The 2nd room 425 had a clogged sink, the slider door to the balcony wouldnt close all the way and there were flying bugs everywhere. The pool was super salty and made us feel nauseous, we only swam about a half hour because it was so gross.
Very nice place to lay your head after a long day of fun! One thing I really noticed was how quiet it is when in your room! The lake is so close you can dip your feet right next to the hotel and the view is outstanding. Traverse city is an ideal place to visit and a very lovely town all around
The let us check in early. Without a early check in fee. The rooms where clean n updated. The bar area was ok. The staff was amazing but the bar area it self is darker in color. You have the water right there. I get the water thing but it to over done in smaller hotel restaurants. A look like ...a blue green like the waterWhite like the snow with the green n darker blue evenWith a tan flooring.Easy reven. That would make a world of difference.N omg on the weed post. It legal in Michigan. I get u dont want us to use it on the property but a lil over board....You want to a mint.Tc has a cigar bar. Make a pot friendly hotel on the balcony only. Waiver signed. Not liability. But your still responsible for any and damages.
Very friendly. Room was immaculate. The restaurant/ lounge here had the best oysters and salmon. The prices and food here are better than most of the places in downtown traverse city. Crystal was excellent, she provided the best customer service Iβve had in a long time. Highly recommend this place. Itβs right on the beach, quiet, and peaceful. Indoor pool and hot tub are very nice amenities too!
It was a little run down and parking was rough as patrons of the restaurant took spaces for those paying to stay here. The free breakfast was a bagel with coffee and juice so we paid to eat out for better options. The view of the bay however was wonderful and the rooms were clean.
Couldnt be happier! Our 2 night stay turned into 4 because we loved it so much!! The staff is amazing, so helpful, and fun to talk to! The Lounge was great too, great food, happy hour specials, and I was especially happy with Sunday $5 Martinis! Our room overlooked the bay and we loved playing in the sand with the kids! The pool and hot tub were a blast--- open until 10pm, and 10pm-11pm was adult swim!! The Barnums will be back for sure!! Thank you Parkshore for a memorable time!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our meal was great and our server Diane was fantastic! Got off to a rocky start when we were told first that we couldnt be seated and if we didnt like it to see a manager. Went back in and spoke to Diane who was able to seat us right away. Note to first man we spoke to....never turn away business.
Great view, nice beach, bed and pillow comfy, Desk staff nice, appreciated the attached restaurant with option for room service. Continental breakfast was terrible, the cheapest off brand yogurt and muffins, no fruit, bagels cereal. I know it is covid times but if you can serve things make sure they are edible! Esp for $320 a night! Had to ask for sheets to be changed and room serviced and only made the sandy bed and left towels and took trash, The pool looked the clean but the hot tub needed service.
Stopped by for dinner at the suggestion of a friend and was pleasantly surprised. Great menu options and my server, Johnathan, was fantastic! He suggested the Ahi Tuna dinner, the pineapple margarita, and the peanut butter pie. Service was on point and the food was all great. Ill be going here for dinner again! As an added bonus, you can sit and watch the lake while you dine.
A nice place to stay! Me and my fiancΓ© got a patio room out to the beach. It was great! So nice to be able to walk out and be right there by the lake. The room needs a little bit of an upgrade and definitely one of the smaller TVβs in a hotel room Iβve ever seen but we donβt watch TV on vacation so it was fine. The front desk employees were sooo friendly and full of great knowledge! The lounge attached is an added bonus! On the weekend they have a DJ that comes in. The bartender, Will, is the BEST!! Food is good there to maybe a little pricey. Overall, a nice place to stay! Clean and great service!
Our room had a smokey smell and overall was very dingy. The carpet was very worn and had some weird bumps, the cover sheet on one of the beds had a rip in it and the bathtub floor was dirty/discolored. I was also disappointed because we paid for a partial view room which had an obstructed view because of the roof and some stuff on the roof of the building next door. My kids were especially disappointed. I would not stay here again.
10/10! Fast and prompt service when you need something. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Great deals at the restaurant/bar on site within the hotel. Asked to be in a room close to family staying that week and not only did they get me on their floor, they put us right next door!
Under renovation which is fine but our room had a huge machine parked right in front of our doorwall. I did complain about that and I did not care for our room at all it was very outdated and just not appealing.Front desk was very helpful and gave us an upgrade. I did appreciate that very much! View was gorgeous! Thats about the only thing I liked about this hotel. Went to onsite restaurant and didnt care for the food
We have stayed here for years, always great people, always friendly service. This year it has changed, totally different clientele, the pop smoking in the parking lot is horrendous. Cant sit on the balcony because of the smell. I dont want the kids on the beach, they dont need to be around that. So very sad, we will have to find a different place to stay.
Clean and beautiful view, you right there front of the water and if wanted to rent a boat is just 5 minutes walking distance to rental place. Hotel have indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. Family swim time till 8:00am to 10:00pm but still can swim between times but the last hour adults only from 10:00pm to 11:00pm
This hotel was awesome! The hot tub and pool area were super nice. The hot tub had super strong jets, and the atmosphere was very nice. The rooms were nice, beds were super comfortable and no cheap hotel comforters. Everything was very clean and nice. Excellent customer service and the longer area was elegant looking.
My husband, son and myself stayed 6/5-6/8/2020 in room 407. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean with the exception of so many bugs on the balcony, which I know is not their fault. The carpet leading to the bathroom had staples sticking out and is the reason I gave 4 stars. We ate at the lounge, one of the nights we stayed, and the food and drinks were very good. It was reasonably priced as well.If we go back to Traverse city we will definitely stay there again.
I stayed for my honeymoon and we got the deluxe king room with the whirlpool tub. We were on the lake and had a patio & fireplace as well. Service at the desk was good and the martini special on Sunday was great. We had an issue with our tub and they were quick to find a resolution for us without delay
The condition of this resort is awful. It is a shame because I am sure it was wonderful at one time. It is dirty and run down the wall paper in Our room was ready to peel off and the couch was filthy . I would not walk barefoot on the rug. Spider webs were in the corners . We had a storm last night and there were many buckets in the lobby collecting water dripping through the ceiling .The restaurant was excellent and the service in the dining and bar was wonderful. A great place to eat while staying somewhere else. The view is beautiful but for the expensive price you would expect much more
I accidentally booked for the wrong date. The receptionist was nice and understood and told me I would get a refund as I would not be in the area that day. A week later I received a email saying they were backing out of the deal and not refunding my money. This is a very dishonest hotel. I would not take them at there word.
This resort was okay. If it wasnt for the view it would not be worth staying here. The view was everything. The tile and grout was filthy. I even found a fork on top of my entertainment center, With a few crumbs of food. the Jacuzzi bathtub has scratches all over it. Its a shame because the bathtub could look brand new for $100, just re glaze it, there are plenty of holes in the walls that need to be patched and painted (45 min repair) it is my opinion this room should be the cleanest of all times do to the pandemic. I dont even think a vacuum has ran through when we walked in. My fiance and I paid almost $700 for two nights. You complained about it but we never heard back. Pay the extra $80 a night and stay at Sugar Beach.
We stayed with my 2 teenage boys and our baby. We got a suite which had the jacuzzi, which was nice and big, couch, 2 TVs, fridge, microwave and extra sink..and they brought us beds for the boys. It was nice having room service, being we had a baby it was nice to order room service ALCOHOL!! We could enjoy a couple drinks in the privacy of our room. We did not expect this as an option and loved it. Very nice view from the balcony. Very nice pool and hot tub
This is our second visit to the Parkshore. I just love this place! The place is clean. The staff is friendly. The rooms are very comfortable. The restaurant is great! My only complaint is that the beach is maybe a quarter of the beach it was two years ago, thanks to Mother Nature. However, the beach is awesome, especially for little ones. Itβs shallow and clean. We just loved both of our visits π
Bed was comfortable!Room had an odor. Several cigarette butts outside on patio area. Lawn chair broke.. Hole in the screen door so we couldnt have it open to hear the water, because May flies were terrible. We were charged $135.00 for 1 night stay. Later saw it on Booking.com for $80.00. Would not price match the next morning on questioning them at check out.. So, be sure to check other sites before just checking in with the hotel itself. We will definately check out someplace different next time!
We stayed for 2 nights the next morning from the first night we woke up to bites and then found a BED bug crawling in plain sight of course the roads were horrible so we couldnβt go home, we asked to switch rooms (Also the manager came and got the bug from my room herself along with a house keeper and tried to say itβs a beetle, itβs clearly not) well this morning once again we woke up with bites and found another bug, I informed the manager before leaving and got a nasty attitude so Iβm assuming nothing is going to be done. Not to mention when we switched rooms I was told the bed would be inspected properly but they didnβt even change the very bottom bed sheet, it still had juice on it from the previous person that stayed. Thank god I caught it before we went home and had it all over our house.
Hotel is in poor condition & is in need of major updating. The employees are nice but I would never stay here again. Attracts a big party crowd & we were woken up multiple times by yelling and screaming. Also, the place had a strong weed smell throughout the hallways. Itβs like the Put In Bay hotel of traverse city.
The room was disgusting. Upon our arrival, there was a dead bug on our bed. There were bugs flying throughout the room, on the walls and on the sliding glass door. When we got into bed, there were two more living bugs in our bed.The staff offered to move us to a different room. Other than that, they did not offer any other options. They were not apologetic and made little effort to help. I was told to call hotels.com (where we booked the room). Hotels.com responded immediately, we were granted a refund through their website and were able to leave. The place was a dump and the customer service was terrible.
Ked to switch rooms (Also the manager came and got the bug from my room herself along with a house keeper and tried to say itβs a beetle, itβs clearly not) well this morning once again we woke up with bites and found another bug, I informed the manager before leaving and got a nasty attitude so Iβm assuming nothing is going to be done. Not to mention when we switched rooms I was told the bed would be inspected properly but they didnβt even change the very bottom bed sheet, it still had juice on it from the previous person that stayed. Thank god I caught it before we went home and had it all over our house. Dont come here if you care about your health.
The hotel smelled like weed in the hallways but our room was ok. We went to the lounge restaurant for and it was NOT ok. Our waiter did a good job keeping our iced teas full but that was it. They forgot our appetizer completely and my husband took one bite of his perch and couldnβt eat anymore. I watched two servers stand outside and smoke then come RIGHT back inside to help guests. No hand washing or anything. My Cesar salad tasted like Kraft dressing and our fries and soup seemed like they were just reheated from Gordonβs food service. We were SO disappointed. We will never ever return.
Disappointed that we were unable to come into the restaurant/bar at 10:30pm and watch playoff basketball and Hockey while having some food and drink. The employee said they are closing even though the place was packed and it was only 10:30. Covid restrictions are over and this type of establishment doesnβt want our money. It doesnβt make sense to me. Iβm sure there are $1000s of dollars that are being lost due to this type of philosophy. Open up! Itβs the middle of summer and tourists are here to spend money!!! Come on man!!!
Nice hotel! We had the suite with the whirlpool in the room and it was fantastic! Nothing like watching some shows with a jacuzzi in your room. Ordered room service from the lounge late at night and the food arrived quickly and warm! Will definitely be back! Did not see breakfast in the morning however, but we already had breakfast plans in Traverse City so it didnt matter to us.
The hotel is conveniently located just off the beach, but is difficult to grab a spot thats close to the hotel. Theres only a single elevator for the four floor building and its exceptionally slow. The hotel room mattress was overly stiff and gave me a tight back during my stay. The wireless internet disconnects every other minute making it annoying to watch/stream or do any work. The hotel floor smelled like marijuana and all management did was slide a piece of paper with a warning of a cleaning fee under all the doors. Overall, its not worth the cost to stay at this hotel. I recommend anyone thats considering Traverse City for a vacation destination to choose a different hotel there less expensive. The city of Traverse City and area around it has an exceptional amount of activities that you can enjoy without the price tag of an expensive hotel stay.
Loved it! Husband and I were here during the Christmas holidays and we got the Romantic Package which included a beachfront room (with a very nice view!) with whirlpool hot tub, credits for their lounge restaurant, nice champagne, 2 customized glasses and gourmet chocolates. It was very worth it. While it was in Traverse City, it was about 5-10 minute drive to downtown. We tried walking from there back to the hotel but it started to rain so we grabbed a cab. Place was clean and they have the basic toiletries so it was fine. They also have friendly staff. Room comes with breakfast but we decided to just eat outside. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
The breakfast buffet was good, but the eggs were decent (I would recommend honestly the biscuits and gravy). The beds were very comfortable, and I slept very good. In my opinion, the chlorine was not very high in the pool or the spa honestly but it was very relaxing after a hard day. I went with my 4-H Service Club, and we first off visited the beach before we could do anything mainly. The view is amazing, and it is way better than any place I have ever visited. I would highly recommend the Parkshore Resort, as it is a very well experience.
The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and some have beautiful views of the water. The staff are extremely helpful and sweet. You can buy a hit continental type breakfast in the pub for next to nothing...I believe it was like $6 per person. We stayed in the off peak time so it was really quiet. We came for a weekend getaway with friends for a wine tour but there are several other things to do.
Room and food was nice how ever we went to pick up our take out order one of the patrons in the lounge was very drunk and was very rude to my wife which I did not appreciate. I think they should escort people out the door if they get too drunk and belligerent. Not very well experience. Will not be back to this particular Hotel. Everything was great right up until that moment.
My husband and I booked this hotel since it was the only one we could find with a partial beach view during the cherry festival. This hotel wasnβt worth the $225 we spent per night. It looked almost run down. There was holes in the curtains and the shower curtain, stains on the sheets and someoneβs pad liner behind the nightstand. One of the lights didnβt work, the partial view should of been called a partial partial view since you had to be hanging out the side in order to see it. The lounge bar was average at best. House keeping never gave us any new coffee cups or coffee, they only gave new towels. The staff was super nice and all seemed helpful. Wouldnβt stay here again.
We had room #207 the view of the bay was amazing.. It is 5 years past due for an update, for the price of the room at $250 pr. night the mattress was not that comfy and the carpets need to be cleaned/replaced. The restaurant had great service & food. The ladies at the front desk were professional and polite.
Well, they charged me for two nights. But they caught there are before I checked out. The room we had was very nice. It had a gorgeous view! The water for our showers was always plentiful and hot. We didnt use the pool or any of the other amenities, but we did go down to the beach in the evening just to look at the bay. Very relaxing.Because its in Traverse City during the summer, the room was not very cheap.
This hotel needs major upgrades. I stayed in a king deluxe room and it was anything but! The elevator was directly in front of our door and it is beyond loud at night. The walls are paper thin and we heard the people next door playing their music as well as their conversations. The patio that we upgraded to seriously needed to be hosed off because there were flies everywhere, we ended up barely using it due to that and the outdoor furniture being tore up with a ton of holes and sagging chairs. It smells like cigarette smoke and we went out of our way to go and buy Lysol to spray everything.
Showed up with no reservation. Was a non issue. Room was great, had a view of the bay. Rates very good, actually better then expected for the area. Experience was very positive. Restaurant connected to hotel was very good and staff was pleasant and very good prices both on the meal and on the drinks. Would recommend. Only complaint about whole experience was little fruit flies or similar in the restaurant. We sat against the window looking to the street, not sure if the flies were just in that area or all over. Very little and very annoying.
This hotel is in desperate need of a make over. Our room had mold around the tub spout, carpet ripped up, wallpaper peeling, and the back of the toilet was all chipped up. The sheets were wrinkled and stained. The bed has sparse bedding and is horribly uncomfortable. The vending machine literally gave us HOT drinks and the complimentary breakfast was horrid. And this was all in a deluxe suite. Do yourself a favor and pay extra for a nicer place. The view and employees were the only good things.
Kinda bummed, small bar only open til 11. Nothing to do close by gotta drive to do anything πͺ I do love my room beach front is a plus, cost me 48.00 more πͺ When I was already quoted a price for beach front. Kids in pool πͺ I think 7 oclock is good for kids so adults have time to enjoy
My wife and I couldnβt sleep from the smelly room. I had to use air freshener for 4 days, because I didnβt feel like arguing over refund. The curtain had cigarette holes on it. The pillow was dirty. I can go on and on. For 260$ a night you at least expect a clean room. The motel down the street was probably cleaner. So disappointed.
Enjoyed our stay here. The room was overpriced at 311/night. Majority of the hotels on the beachfront are a little outdated so I knew what to expect. The hospitality, view and experience makes up for everything the rooms might lack. We try a different hotel each time we visit. They are all pretty much the same.
Room was beautiful, nice views of the bay. But, at 4 am, when its time to wake up and go to work you expect, at a minimum a clean bathroom and hot water. There was lots of long brunette hair in the tub and no hot water whatsoever for the shower. They offered a move to another Room but at 4:42 in the morning, after fighting the hot water for 40 minutes, I wasnt prepared to pack up and add additional time to my packed morning. Wont stay here again. A beautiful room is useless if it doesnt have clean, working amenities.
The had terrible service. They booked us for 2 nights when we only scheduled for one. They finally only gave us one night, but only after raising the price originally quoted us. They also gave us a room with one king instead of the two queens we requested. The breakfast was not included. We did buy it, but it was bland and definitely not worth it. It wasnt any better than a continental breakfast at a chain hotel. Overall, I wouldnt stay there again. And I wouldnt recommend it to others.
Friendly staff, clean hotel. We had the two room jacuzzi suite on the 2nd floor. It was a great balcony suite. Needed some repairs (air conditioning didnt work in the bedroom, patio door didnt lock, fireplace didnt work) bed was not very comfortable but all in all it was a great hotel. Clean and reasonably priced. Clean beach right outside the hotel. Restaurant pub is nice and the breakfast is very tasty. Definitely a good choice.
Horrible hotel. Old and filthy. We only stayed because we planned on checking out of our other hotel to head to picture rocks but the weather up there was to bad and we didnt want to cut our honeymoon short. The hotel we were at (grand traverse) didnt have any vacancy and neither did other hotels in the area. So, we stayed here. Paid almost as much as we did at Grand Traverse. (Totally worth every penny for that hotel). The fireplace wont stay on with the door wall open so forget about wanting to hear the waves while enjoying a fire. The carpet hadnt been cleaned in who knows how long and despite asking for our room to be cleaned, it was only cleaned 2x in the 5 days. One day when I called to ask why it wasnt bc I had thrown our sheets down to be cleaned, they said that all the housekeeping had gone for the night and there was nothing they could do about it. I demanding someone come and change the sheets and clean the bathroom (which also hadnt been done) and they said they would get housekeeping up there for us. π€. Thought they had gone for the night. You cant check out early if you dont like it either. We tried. I noticed in the reviews that every time someone leaves a negative comment, management replies and apologizes then offers some lame excuse for the reason things played out the way they did and then says they hope you will give them another chance to make it right. No thanks. I wouldnt stay there if someone paid me. The one positive thing I will say is the restaurant has really good food and drinks. The bartender was exceptional there too. I would stay somewhere else but eat there one night if you have a chance. But, trust me....... You will regret your decision if you choose to book a room.
The rooms are nice enough. The staff was friendly. But the bed was just awful. The coffee pot didnt work. The continental breakfast was cold hard boiled eggs, mixed fruit and stale bread products. The many many hallways were confusing to navigate. Not a bad experience but Ive had better at a $40 super8.
The hotel itself was decent. The room was adequate. The pool is small. No free breakfast, only a breakfast buffet for $5.95 for adults. No food poisoning, so that was a plus. The best part of the hotel is obviously the beach. There is also a small area with two bonfire pits off to the side.
The room was very comfortable, nice and clean. However, my husband and I received notification that our son was in the hospital and had to leave only a few houes after checking in. When I informed the front desk they quickly refunded us for the room to help us get home. We are so very grateful for their cooperation.
Very nice room. We had an upper floor room with a balcony overlooking the water. The view was beautiful. The room was very clean and comfortable. And because we booked during the week with our AAA discount, we got a nice price on the room. The breakfast buffet was ok, although it was not included with the room; it was an extra $6 per person. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and were very please with Parkshore Resort.
The view is spectacular from a beach view room but the property is in need of some TLC. I thought the nightly price was a little steep for the condition of the property but it is more than passable and I guess in line with the area. Beds were comfortable and the room had a mini fridge. Housekeeping was meh at best. When we arrived there were beard clippings all over our bathroom vanity that couldnβt be seen because they blended with the granite top. But when I wiped it with a towel into the sink it covered the entire sink and towel with hair...GROSS! That was the only area that looked unclean though but it instilled doubt. The restaurant/lounge food was pretty good with decent choices and it was open late. All in all...itβll do.
We came here to celebrate our 17th year wedding Anniversary and the room that we wanted was $230.00 which included a jacuzzi tub.. this room was so old and so dirty. So I asked to be moved to a regular room. The room we was moved to was also dirty and had bed bugs.. we will never stay in this hotel again our experience was awful..
Loved the place great views of bay... Only couple things keeping it from getting 5 stars..One being that pool doesnt open till 8 am most pools Open at 6 and then theres breakfast that not served till 8 am and then going to cost you 8 dollars but it was alittle better then the free breakfasts you get at other hotels. The dinners they serve here are top notch . I had the lobster and steak combo and it was very good and the escargot was a great bonus to the meal. All in all great place will stop here again....
Stayed here for two days in early October while we were having a warm spell. Got a great bay-view room for cheap! The balcony overlooking the beach and water was breathtaking, especially in the morning at sunrise with some coffee... It was still a bit too cold to go play in the water, but we lay out in the sun and really enjoyed the indoor pool/hot tub. Great time, staff were friendly and even went above and beyond getting the wifi to work for us. Would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I booked a romantic package and got the room with the whirlpool tub. This was after Christmas and before New Year so it was snowing but the whole ambiance made it really nice. Our room was right on the shore so we had a good view of the beach and we could go to the parking via sliding window doors. Fragrant soaps and shampoo. Breakfast though was not much to look forward to but its ok. Room also came with good sparkling wine and dark chocolate trufles. I liked it but my husband didnt like it.
First the pros: friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed.Cons: this NOT a resort. It is a hotel with beach access. Thats all the resort you will get.The a/c unit in our room did not work. The entire unit had to be removed and replaced. This is an older hotel that needs a pretty extensive remodel. We will not return to this property.
This is a hotels / bar they had you some food. It took a while to get the food, I ordered a turkey melt that came with chips and it took about 45 minutes for my food to come out. People in my party ordered the nachos and they appear to be microwaved with very little meat on them. When it came time for the bill the waiter had the entire process mixed up. Everyone in my party had items on their ticket that were not theirs and one person who had requested their ticket got no ticket at all. they do have great views on their Beach of the bay
Had a good stay. My girlfriend and I went to happy hour in the hotel, which was nicely priced. The one negative thing we saw was when we booked the room online, we assumes beach view meant a good view of the beach. Instead we were on the second floor overlooking the parking lot with the beach barely visible behind a wall.
Do not go here. First, we were given the wrong beer but more importantly, they were not following any restrictions, very crowded. Wait staff wearing mask over their mouth but not nose, but really this is an indoor bar and they are PACKING the bar. Tables 1 ft apart not 6ft indoors. Just want people to know what to expect if you choose to go here.
Staff is always friendly...food Ive had from lounge has always been good as well...couple minor minor issues..no microwave in room...real soft pillows..could use few more pillows on beds..good location...beach front..just outside of downtown..can use side roads to get to other side of town.. avoiding downtown traffic..all in all a good place to stay..π
Awesome place to stay. We have stayed many times and its always wonderful. Dee H the manager is so wonderful. She has one great team working there. No matter if our stay is shorter or longer than planned its always a great time. The rooms are really nice and the view is always beautiful! The lounge has some wonderful food and amazing staff. The bartenders really know what they are doing and are on top of making sure you have drinks all the time. Dee H has done an amazong job, you always see her there with a smile on her face and always working. Keep up the great work and we look forward to staying with you guys even more.Michelle Tedder
Customer service is good, bar on the first floor is good. Nice location. Price was ok. Beds are terrible. Like sleeping on sheet of wood. Pillows are terrible. Literally sleeping on wood with a cinder block as a pillow. Disappointed they dont have breakfast unless you want to pay for it on the weekends. Kind of annoying and greedy.
Very nice resort. The price was perfect for the room with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Right on the beach, large room, comfy bed, and stunning room view. Continental breakfast was small, as is the room towels (also very scratchy). Would definitely be back for the summer.
Great front desk service. Views are great the lake view. The Resort provides free beach chairs which are great. Hotel rooms are clean and spacious. We were looking for a Lakeview hotel with a beach right off the back of it and this hotel has all that plus a nice staff.
My office set up a stay at the Parkshore Resort for me. I had never been in Traverse City before and was sure it would be some cheap hotel. I was surprised when I got there. The view of the lake was amazing, and the beach was so pristine. There was a relaxing mood of the place. The front desk staff was helpful in giving me directions and making suggestions at places to go. The room was clean and neat. They even provided room service, which was great since I was real busy on that trip. Overall a very great hotel.
The room was nice, outstanding view of the water. Also the guy working the front desk was very helpful and also let us use the pool for an extra 20 minutes after it was supposed to be closed. The one bad thing was the service at the restaurant. We were there for 2 hours, had 2 drinks, and everything in the process was very slow with the wait staff.
Just stayed here this week and was very pleased at the way the staff handled a situation that could have completely ruined our trip. We had just arrived back home to Chicago and received a call from the staff asking us if we had possibly left something valuable in our room. We realized that we had left our Canon DSLR camera and case. We had to provide a description and they confirmed it. They let me know that they would ship it to me. I am very grateful to the housekeeping staff and the front desk the way they handled this situation, and I admire their honesty, and their help in getting this back to me. Not only is the camera very valuable to me, but the pictures of our family vacation are much more valuable. Thanks again to the staff for going out of their way. Much appreciated!!!
Thank you Parkshore resort for making our vacation a rememberable one as always! The front desk staff were great super helpful. The hotel did a great job keeping everything sanitized. Btw dee the manager, youβre amazing!!! The front desk staff were extremely friendly and kind. Again great hotel! Great staff! See you guys next summer.
Such a beautiful view We love nature we love the Ducks We love the beach we love the scenery there is so much to do there greatest staff ever an extremely comfortable place to vacation at Internet I would consider this place a 5 star hotel It a 5 star hotel if it was up to me
Outdated Ac would not get cold even when on all day, lowest setting only 66. Pay for breakfast as a guest. No HD channels. Breakfast was bland and some breads were moldy. Pool was badly lit at night and a shaded color of green. Not enough tables surrounding pool area, too many beach chairs for an indoor pool. Excellent beach view for those rooms. That made the price worth it to me for the one time, but not again at the price I paid
Food was delicious, unfortunately our plates were not timed very well. My mom received her soup and salad at the same time. I also received my entree and salad at the same time. Not to mention we waited about 20-25 minutes. Personally I expected my salad and her soup as a starter, and was sadly disappointed as I was extremely hungry. Our server was kind though and Id definitely be willing to give the place another shot, perhaps on a quieter night. My only other complaint besides the timing on our food would be the mac and cheese bites I ordered to go. I would not recommend those to anyone. I was expecting panko crusted ones similar to Bubbas; however they were incredibly greasy, beer battered, and terribly bland.
If you dont drink dont bother the bed was very uncomfortable for a 4 star hotel thats not good my food was ok it was very pricey and got it cold and on top of all that went to get breakfast and the lady at the desk was snappy and very rude didnt even get a good morning deffiently not what I was expecting from a 4 star hotel
Not worth the pain! They charged us $206.00 for the absolute worst night Ive ever spent in a hotel. The bed was basically a brick with a blanket on top of it. The toilet doesnt stop running. The wall paper is pealing. The TV has programs from the 80s. Needless to say my back is all jacked up. And we are currently loozing to book another room so we can enjoy the rest of our time in Traverse City. Do yourself a favor and never choose this place. Worst hotel ever!
When I arrived to the Room, it had pubic hair on the toilet seat. And the room was vacuumed very poorly. I was expecting an building to be outdated and that would have been fine. However, how unkept and filthy it was became alarming. Due to a Soccer Tournament all places are sold out or I would have switched. If my kids were not with me,I would be sleeping in my car.
Great location right next to the lake. There is also a place to rent kayaks, boats and do parasailing very nearby. The place is a little bit older than some of the other hotels in the area. We were told that we would be able to get an early check in at 3, but when we arrived, they said that wasnt possible. So we ended up waiting about an hour. Other than that, everything was good.
Stayed here for a relaxing weekend getaway and it was the worst experience. I will not be back and would not reccomend to anyone.Original reservation was for a waterfront room for 3 nights booked 3 months in advance. My boyfriend ended up getting scheduled to leave on a work trip on Sunday and we had to cancel one night. Instead of refunding the money paid for Sunday they said the rates went up on the room and we would be paying the same price for 2 nights as we originally did 3. Eventually after talking with multiple managers they did end up refunding us for the price of the one night. We called and asked if there was any transportion to downtown available from the hotel since often times a hotel will have a shuttle. On the phone the receptionist said they did not offer this service but there is a public bus stop right out front of the hotel. When we arrived to check in they said they knew nothing of any bus routes and advised us to uber. Then when we checked into our room there was no view of the beach that we paid extra for. When I called the front desk to ask for a different room they said there were 3 rooms available but to move we would be charged an additional $100. The receptionist was extremely rude and condescending. I am sure we could have stayed somewhere off the beach for much cheaper which I will do next time I am in Traverse City.
I thought the layout of the halls, elevator, and lobby were kind of weird. It felt like walking through a storage hallway to get into the resturant. The room was nice, but nothing to write home about. My biggest complaint was that the room could have had more/brighter lighting. Will come again soon. Rates were within reason.
Winter Getaway (Beachside King Hot Tub Suite with Sofa Sleeper)...Wide selection of room styles. Hot tub suites, kids bunk rooms, beach front walkouts. Beautiful East Bay beach. A++ staff members aim to please and retain business. Clean rooms. Large pool/hot tub. Amazing food, prices, staff in lounge. Beer and Burger Wednesday special was worth coming back for! 3 minute walk to State Park and bike trails. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, but certainly got the job done for our family with children who just want to swim anyway.
This is a very nice resort. We were there off-season, so many things werent available. Our biggest problem was the price. While the website had posted $79, we were charged $85 before taxes. And this was with the AAA discount. Sign out front advertised a rate of $49.......Would have fought harder, but staff seemed disinclined to help. Breakfast buffet was pretty good, but could use some fresh fruit to balance all the hot food.
Even though there were plenty of rooms open they put us across from a room they were working on. Furniture, sawdust plug up the hall way. Food was terrible, waited an hour to receive our meal and the restaurant was not crowded. We walked out and didnt even touch the food. We still had a good time in Traverse City and surrounding area. We will go up again but next time we will stay somewhere else.
Booked the resort for our honeymoon and was pleasantly surprised with the room. Very clean and staff was friendly. My only two problems with the room was the bed (it was terrible) and the fireplace was broken. But I would still stay again. The real complaint and I wish I could review them separate was the restaurant in the hotel! I was absolutely appalled by the service and food. We both ordered a steak because the menu was very limited, the waitress informs us that there is a 45 min wait on the food. We said not a big deal it was already 8pm and we didnt have anything planned. And hour and 15 later the food came. A bunt ( no exaggeration) 21$ steak and fake mashed potatoes. I sent it back and got chicken Alfredo. Pre cooked teriyaki chicken over some noodles. I was beyond pissed. Needless to say do not waste your time or money on the parkshore lounge!
My husband and I decided to stop into the bar/restaurant attached to the hotel and invited some friends to have drinks with us our last night in town, we were there for a while ordering drinks minding our own business, our friends asked for their bill to check out and our waitress brought both theirs and ours, though we didnt ask for it. The waitress then began rudely and repeatedly asking my husband why he wasnt paying it, a few minutes later he put his coat on to go have a cigarette and she ran over asking are you going to pay your bill? Why are you putting your coat on? She proceeded to ask her bar customer to watch him and look for him outside, approached me (still sitting at our table with all of our things, my husbands phone included) and said to me I dont think hes coming back, he left and I dont see him outside, I would feel more comfortable if you would just pay your billThat night, there were DOZENS of other people there dancing, drinking and patronizing just as we were and not a single one of them was spoken to or discriminated against the way we were. Coincidentally, my husband was the only Mexican man in the bar on this night. I payed he bill after having words with the waitress who tossed the payment book at me at the table and began to argue with me and then as we were leaving, her bar regular she had watching him followed us into the lobby in attempt to fight my husband. We called the hotel this morning to speak to the manager regarding this situation and despite being the victims of this horrible unnecessary incident, were met with more rude tones and told my husband tried to fist fight the bar customer who followed him..... Im disgusted at the actions of the staff in this establishment, insulted would be an understatement. This type of discrimination doesnt belong anywhere, we came in dressed well and minded our own business the entire night, there was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for anyone to make the assumption that we had any intention of walking out on our bill and for anyone to speak to their customers that way. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason.
My wife and I took a road trip on Saturday morning. We ended up in Traverse City by nightfall. We were looking for lodging with a jacuzzi, resturant and bar with dancing all in one place. Parkshore had it all. The place was well kept and clean, the food was really great and the bar was comfortable and cozy with plenty of nice people having fun on the dance floor! We will be back!!!
My friend and I (both women in our 30s) spent time in the hotel lounge/bar. We happened to hit it off with some hotel staff and danced with them there. One staff member bought us a drink even. However, after 40 minutes of being back in our room (approaching 3 in the morning) that same staff member used his hotel access card to enter our room without our permission. Obviously, he felt entitled to more than dancing after buying us one drink. The hotel management did nothing to make this right... No comping our nights stay or giving vouchers for future stays. Said they fired the employee and another who was aware of what he was doing, but we have no guarantee of that. WOMEN TRAVELING ALONE DO NOT STAY AT THE PARKSHORE!!!!
Got a great deal on a 3 night stay. Hotel is right on the water and has a bar/restaurant attached. Hotel is close to several other restaurants and a short drive to downtown TC. Room was very clean. Had a fridge but no microwave. Also pool and hot tub on site. This was our second time here and will likely be back!
I booked the hotel thru priceline, the hotel description said every room has a balcony or lake view. Thats not true, but they were quick to fix the problem. They moved my room to a room with a balcony with a view and calling to fix the description on the website. Great customer service. A little outdated but honestly a nice clean hotel.
Started with check-in and they front desk was rude about getting there at 1:30, Told us that check-in was at 4 pm. I asked them if the room could be ready any earlier and againthey said 4 pm. I left my number and asked nicely if they could call when ready. I have 4 year old twins and would of made it easier if I could of checked in. No Help. They did have our room done at 3:50. Beware. They should not use the word RESORT.Diiner- Sunday with 10 of us it took over 1:30 to get dinner. It was busy but it was good when we got served.Dinner Monday- No one in Dinning room. I thought with my wife and 4 year olds I would give them another shot. Same service- took and hour and this time it came out well done-prime rib sandwich . Mac and Cheese Kraft- good and the small pizza not done. After waiting and hour plus had to go back to room to order Pizza. They should not use the word Resort. It is a motel with a nice beach. Come park at the motel and use the beach. Dont waste your money staying here.
Let me start by saying that the best thing about this resort (if thats what you want to call it) was the view! Other than that it was not worth the money! Rude customer service and housekeeping is a joke. Our room was never cleaned and when complained they just said sorry. We had to clean our own trash and bathroom and ask for fresh towels while the dirty ones cluttered the floor in the bathroom. They were also resealing the parking lot and gave no notice of this. Instead they woke us up early in the morning to move our car and it wasnt even our car that needed to be moved. It was someone else...they called the wrong room. Again all we got was a sorry. Breakfast is ridiculous. The front desk attendant acted as if it were this buffet with a variety of food. Nope...bagels, cereal and hard boiled eggs. Otherwise you had to pay for breakfast. Pool and hot tub looked cloudy and it seemed as though it was never cleaned or kept filled. I would move on to another hotel or resort!
To Parkshore Resort,I write to thank all the staff and personnel at the Parkshore Resort for your superb hospitality and service during my stay in Traverse City last week.Names of staff particularly Joyce and Dee, who went the extra mile with sending back my jewelry. I left it on the bathroom sink in the room and once I knew I left it I was already 4 hours away. They both helped me by dropping off the jewelry in UPS so I could have it back within days. I never felt so mad at myself and relieved at the same time. But everyone at the Resort really was outstandingly helpful and I cant praise everyone enough. Please tell everyone you have a number-one fan over here in Macomb, MI. Ive been bragging to everyone about the Parkshore Resort in Traverse City! That very special atmosphere you all promote so gently, and so naturally, was much appreciated and makes all the difference.Thank you. Thank everyone.
Sucked, expensive and a cheap ass hotel. Beach is ok at best. Small tv phones never work (only for room service) there was no extra anything whatsoever i.e blankets or pillows. Room had brown wall and was patched with only wallpaper. Bathroom was puny with no space. The whole hotel is got except the rooms which were an astonishing -273* Celsius. My key card didnt work for my room just after we had to come in from the lounge filed with drunks dancing and kissing everywhere with my child, because the door was not working. They told me its been broken for 3 years. So theyre not fixing it anytime soon. To actually have fun at the beach we had to go to another beach. So 1/10

2022-04-11The newly remodeled spacious room included a king bed comfy! And the bath had a standup clear glass shower and huge shower head! All very new! Our room with a view of the bay was perfect! The indoor pool and hot tub were clean and both a very comfortable size...the restaurant had a good selection of entrees and cocktails. The staff were so courteous and helpful. I really appreciated our time there. Right across from the state park, it feels less crowded.ππ

2022-06-18All staff members were amazing. The room was very nice. The mattress was a little too firm for my husband and I. The view from the balcony was breath talking. The breakfast was good and there were plenty of choices. We dined in one night and the food was just ok. The location of the resort was perfect for our stay. We will definitely book again.

2022-05-01The manager Dee totally impressed me. She was so helpful prior to my arrival, when I asked questions. While there, it was evident that she is a dedicated and hard worker. Her staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms have been updated and very nice. Definitely a great place to stay!!

2022-05-06I stayed there in May of 2022. I canβt deny that my room views were astonishing. The room was clean and it had all basic amenities needed including a small refrigerator, microwave, TV, iron, and hangers. It also has a balcony with lake views. Restroom was clean and renovated. However, they are clearly understaffed. I had an incident during my stay when someone came and started knocking hard on my door around 1 am. He kept coming back and knocking. I tried to call front desk several times, no one was picking up. I was about to call police. Next day I asked the front desk why did no one picked up? He said there is no front desk available after midnight. So basically youβre on your own after midnight there is no one available for emergencies. What a joke!Another issue is the AC. Itβs too loud and old, I had to turn it off many times after I couldnβt take it no more being too loud.I think they have an excellent location and great facility. They definitely need more staff and a new management.

2022-03-28The hotel itself was ok with cleanly rooms and pool area. The shampoo and conditioner smelled horrible and I wished I hadnt forgotten mine. The first floor had a room that smelled terribly of cigarettes at first and then weed when you walked by.Their breakfast is a simple continental setup and not helpful for any special diets. The room next to us played rap music loudly until 11pm when we called the front desk and the front desk acted annoyed at having to deal with it.On the plus, the bed was comfortable and the shower was nice.

2022-05-23Decent place to stay on the water. Room was a bit musty and their paper products are as cheap as you can get. Decent bar/lounge on site. They could use another elevator. During the busy morning hours there are staff and guests all trying to use one elevator. It becomes a bit of a wait.
