Comment: We Lived here for only one year and let me tell you this place has great things about it but theres more cons than pros at this place. All these 5 star reviews are fake! First off they charged us a $500 holding fee which was non refundable. They turned off our water without a simple email or phone call. When we first moved in everything worked except for our refrigerator. Our first fridge only the fridge worked not the freezer then the one we got only the freezer worked. We had a 6 month at the time and we had to throw away most of our groceries! Took them 6 weeks to get us a working refrigerator. Theres always a woman screaming across my apartment. idk why or who it is Honestly its hard to tell whats going on. Landscaping comes every Thursday morning before 8 am so if you work late like I was they will wake you up. Maintenances door is below my apartment and they are always slamming their door aggressively. We get 2 parking spots if you have a 2 bedroom so that was nice. Also were right next to 1 of the 2 pools so during summertime its SUPER noisy with children screaming non stop for hours! I kid you not the parents weren’t even at the pool watching their own kids. Not only that there was a handful of times where 15-20 teenagers would hop the fence and play loud music until 11:30 pm which is past 10pm close time for the pool. The ironic thing is one time i was in the spa until 10 minutes past 10pm and one of the security guards told me to the pool was closed. Where the hell was this same security guard when all these teenagers were hanging out past 11. The carpet and cabinets are all updated and new but the slider and windows are HORRIBLE and just leave a lot of the outside cold air trapped inside the apartment. It Honestly feels like your sleeping outside and all the windows get condensation everywhere really bad at night so using A/C & heat is out of the question. During the day the apartment is colder than outside temperature. There is no laundry unit inside. Their laundry room was NEVER clean and their washers are outdated and wont clean your clothes properly. Washing your laundry here is really expensive which costs $20 for 4 small loads! Maintenance team is okay but understaffed. There was a major leak in our sons room and they had to fix that which was a big repair & things happen I get it. It did take them almost two months to get us a working fridge though which is not okay! Now that our lease is ending soon they raised our rent 257 dollars a month not including utilities which is ten percent. We decided to move out because 2,833 a month is expensive For El Cajon along with all the out of control homelessness digging in all the dumpsters. Also theres ALWAYS a police helicopter circling directly above our apartment for 2 hours describing the suspects description at least two times a week. Your apartment # doesnt match your mailbox # so its super confusing. There is a gym available but is very small and limited to what you can do. dont clean or dust off the gym at all. The leasing office is closed on Sundays so there no way to reach anyone if you get locked out of your apartment. Dog park area is horrible with lots of poo everywhere even on the sidewalks! So Look I know it sounds like I may have high standards but I just want to warn others that are considering to rent here at Parkway Club. Missionaries every week were knocking on our door but we didnt answer. We cleaned the apartment & filled in all the holes we made in the walls. Moved out on the 23rd of February and was still charged the full month which was a $540.00 difference for rent through a 3rd party app to pay rent and after everything we still owed them over $200.

Comment: Our move in experience was easy and simple, the staff across the board are very accomodating and understanding. Kristina and Tina were especially helpful with out move in and lease signing, making everything easy and helping us through some technical difficulties, no fault to Parkway. The area is quiet and central to many resturaunts and shopping. The apartments are well maintained and equipped with main appliances, and are gorgeous living areas. Very much reccomend for new families and military personnel.

Kristina was very communicative and helpful with making the process as easy as possible. After moving in, the entire team including Chris, Ashley & Brandon have been great and helpful. There is somewhat of a homeless presence in the areas surrounding the property but my mind has been put to ease knowing that the property management team is on top of it by continuously communicating with the County of San Diego & the SDSO. There is courtesy patrol after hours and the overall vibe of the apartments is pretty chill. If you’re looking to move in, you’ll be in great hands.

I do not recommend this waste money too expensive for none quality, bad neighbors, too noisy even midnight still partying and too noisy, they start cleaning 0800 am for grass maintenance and no consideration to people work at night sleep in the morning! sometimes our clothes got locked up in the laundry room because they close it at 0920 pm even the rules says 1000 pm? cant even follow their own rules? It finally took phoning it in as an electrical emergency, and speaking directly to the maintenance staff. The maintenance man was great, very polite and understanding. The issue could’ve been fixed much sooner had the office staff given maintenance the correct information.

Calling around feeling scared and discouraged and then Dickerson answered the phone. I even hung up on him not out of anger or anything I was just crying. Long story short, I ended up calling him again not knowing it was him, thank the Lord for that. He got me into the Office and took me on a tour and I feel as though my stomach will stop hurting now. It had many property features such as pools, spas, dog parks, and multiple BBQ grills throughout as well as pet waste stations. The inside of the complex was amazing with an open concept and plenty of living space! Thank you Dickerson for the amazing tour!! He was very informative and answered every question we threw at him very thoroughly. My partner and I have been struggling to find comfortable housing in East County, San Diego. After an exhausting day apartment hunting, we pulled over and stopped by the leasing office to request a tour. Dickerson was so incredibly helpful and actually took the time to show us around. We knew he was very busy, but he answered every question and never rushed us out the door. At Parkway Club, there’s a sense of community and togetherness you don’t feel at other apartment complexes. We’ve been super happy with our experience/apartment so far.

Comment: I went to the LR in the k bldg at 830pm and it was locked. My new key worked but the top deadbolt was locked. I called they told me that I didnt have a new key 1st.. then I told em I had the new key and it worked but the deadbolt was locked. They said that the hrs of closing was at 10pm( it was only bout 850 at that time) and that I would have to pay them for their time to come out and unlock it! Thats crazy! Why do I have to pay someone to come out and unlock it if it wasnt even time to be locked!? So I had to wait until the next morning to get my clothes out and I had something important to do that morning! Yal gotta do better!! We pay for enough things to live here so its not my fault nor should I have to pay or have to have my things stuck in the washer all night because somebody wanted to hurry up and lock it so they didnt have to come back around and lock it later!!smh! So the rating Im giving is 0!

Comment: Community has been painted & new washers/dryers were installed; however, with the rent increase maybe ask what the tenants suggest! Would much rather a nighttime security officer AND A GATE of some sort to deter the homeless. I’ve had numerous packages stolen. There’s no emergency procedures if locked out after hours. Road noise is excessive. The maintenance men are great & the landscape team is great as well. As far as the front staff..I’ve left numerous call messages and emails and have yet to hear back. This apartment experience will be like roulette.

Comment: Had the best experience at this apartment complex. My fiancé and I had been struggling to find an apartment that was in our price range, clean, and good reviews with available units. We were about to give up when we came across the Parkways Club apartments. The grounds were clean, everyone was very friendly and helpful and they offered some desirable amenities. Everything from two swimming pools, renovated grill areas, as well as a brand new Gym! They are also pet friendly and have two very welcoming dog park areas, which was perfect for us and my fiancés fur baby. Luckily we were able to find a fully renovated available unit with all of the things we were looking for. Once we decided to move forward with the apartment Dickerson made the application process easy and enjoyable. He walked us through the process and made sure to always be available whenever we had any questions. We were thrilled when we got the news we were approved! We are both very excited to move in and hope our experience living here will be just as pleasant as the walkthrough and application process. Thank you Dickerson for all your help and hard work!

Meanwhile the leak got worse and a lot of water was wasted and spilling all over the counters when used. We called again on Wednesday and we’re given a timeframe for Thursday. The gentleman showed up as scheduled on Thursday (I forgot to get his name). He was very nice and professional, explained what he did and cleaned up afterward. Five star service, giving 4 because of the wait

Not very communicative, you would think they would be with potential new residents interested in renting. everything was more of a headache than enjoyable, felt like a bother more than anything. I was told a few times that I would get an email with some information after being rushed off the phone and never received it. The only email I received was the very first time I reached out and got personal videos of one of the apartments which was cool. But I’m glad we did not go through with this place. We got into a different complex, whose employees actually replied to you and showed interest in helping you find exactly what you were looking for in a new home! These apartments are beautiful, but with office staff they have I’m not sure if it would’ve been that enjoyable.. good luck getting a hold of the front desk & getting your questions answered without feeling like you’re crazy & bothering them.

This complex has security that has the autos of tenants towed, costing $300 to $400 a tow. Stating no sticker. That shouldnt matter. IM RENTING THE SPACE. Teants believe their getting a kick back. They dont monitor for the manu break-ns, only occupants or guest parking. They will tell you, sorry and state parking is separate from the complex but the deed to the property states they are one in the same.

Comment: This place is a straight scam-fest. From the constant weekly harassment for things on my porch such as furniture being labled as “storage” and unkempt to violations in my lease agreement that were never discussed about during the signing of our lease. On top of that you’d pay for your parking at the start of the year and are given a sticker to verfy your parking. Ive had my car towed despite having the permit displayed in my window just under the tint. The only way it wouldnt have been seen is if security was too lazy to actually get out of their car to flash a light or if someone called and reported your car. On top of the towing they do not pay for it even if there was an error on their part, I had to pay the 200 to get my car dropped which was dropped with the sticker CLEARLY in the window. There was clear miscommunication from management to the workers in the office that would tell them one thing and then us another. Such as the date in which rent becomes late in a rouse to slap you with late fees under your nose, on top of that the would refuse to disclose the number of the company responsible for the property forcing you to deal with awful office staff that will just lead you in circles and blatantly lie to your face. Theres always homeless people in the laundry rooms either sleeping or doing drugs which is unacceptable seeing how I lived directly above a laundry room. The harassment from the office did dimish sligjtly after I went and personally chewed them out for bothering me over nothing such as issues on my porch or smoking cigarettes which is clearly allowed in the lease agreement. They also would like to up your rent time to time without any notice of any kind despite always putting something new on your doors for something ridiculous. Overall youd be a lot better off finding somewhere else more worth your money and less of a headache

Comment: At the time of my residence, rates were going up across the complex as property management spent money providing superficial upgrades to the cosmetic and shared amenities to justify the rate increases. Mobility for handicapped individuals was compromised without notice during construction. Maintenance individuals working for Parkway Club could not unclog a sink having only brought a plunger as his one tool (wrench maybe?). Maintenance request were largely ignored that were made throughout the course of our lease. At time of our move, we were told what cleaning would cost under $100 (though we cleaned that place very well before we left) and we did our own, thorough, repainting, but was charged over $300 dollars for both off the deposit. Landlords also tried to get us to pay for sink repair costs for wear-and-tear issues, and argued with us over it, then took it off our deposit anyway disguised as something else once we moved away. Did noting about mail theft issues, and drug use in the laundry rooms despite reports provided to staff.We got less that 1/5 of our deposit back. Honestly Google users, this place is located in a slum, and you will be treated poorly or outright lied to by staff in order to appease you without providing a solution. Be prepared to pay more for rent each year as this complex prices out all the low income individuals who need housing most to make way for tenants who can pay their inflated rates for substandard living conditions.Beware.

Comment: We lived here two years and the best part about it is the location. The actual apartments themselves are mostly falling apart. AC didnt work during the first heatwave of 2016 and it took weeks to get it fixed. Anytime we had something that needed to be fixed it took days or weeks to fix. Just to unclog the tub in the bathroom took around 2 weeks because they kept coming when we specifically told them we werent home. I gave them my schedule and my boyfriend stayed home all day on his day off and they never showed. There is ALWAYS construction going on so they can make the outside of the apartments look nice and clean. They even remodeled the office so that the initial look of the place is clean and modern, but the actual inside of the apartments is old and outdated. Making the outside look nice at the expensive of peace and quiet almost every Saturday morning. Good luck sleeping in. I once came outside and the stairs were gone! No warning! Just no stairs all of a sudden!They also have a rule that isnt listed ANYWHERE that they dont allow pets under a year old. We didnt find out about it until we were in the final stages of adopting some kittens. They note that they allow dogs and cats, and when I asked during my lease-signing they didnt mention it.

Comment: Well, you get what you paid for.Windows in a car got broken twice. Doesnt matter you park in front of the apartments or on the street. Do not leave anything inside your car. Noisy and police was arresting thugs three times when I lived about year and a half so be careful and dont get shot ))). Now, after you move THEY WILL KEEP PART OF YOUR DEPOSIT as a touch up paint carpet cleaning and complete cleaning. According to the tenants right, landlord cannot remodel or clean carpet attenants cost. So thats what I am going right now with them. My situation is different because i am no longer resident of CA and i am seeking help in TX. Good luck to new tenants !!

One of the manager I believe, his name is Jason(?), when you talk to him he is not accommodating and looks down at you like youre some kind of uneducated person. He does not give you chance to talk, he goes to all blah blah blah and then finally answers your simple question. He sometimes even pit up his hand or finger and say hold on as a sign of hushand continue on the blah blah blah. And when you need something to get done such as legal a paperwork with them, they dont have consideration even if the circumstance was that either one of the tenants or offices fault, no compromising on their end. Tired of this bullshit, love everyone else at the office, but really that guy is something. Dont want to have any more trouble, so we are getting out of here.

Comment: 1- When the owner came to inspect the upstairs flooring which is our ceiling we would then have to move to another apartment which was suggested but we would then have to put a $500 deposit plus a prorated amount plus pay the rent on the existing unit which at that time we were also told that this flooring and ceiling issues was not the apartment buildings problem and nothing could be done. 2- neighbor park close to us and when an unfamiliar car parks in other peoples assigne parking spaces we call to let the office know and we are told to call the towing company ourselves. Hence making us do what the front office and management should do. 3 - Werent telling us the rules about a gas grill vs charcoal grill then they tell the neighbors to call the Police to come and tell us to stop grilling. Then we go to front office and we get laughed at and it not funny. 4 - the pool is always with people in it, kids screaming and splashing at all times especially after the 9pm deadline, leaving trash and or leaving the pool dirty along with jacuzzi. in pool area says no food or drinks in area but yet tenants are bringing food and alcoholic drinks and sometimes leaving their cans there. 5 - neighbors smokes illegal substances yet your the one calling the police and again from the office they tell you to do all this and still maintain that the office and premises are watched by cameras and a patrolman/ security company. 6 - the washers and dryers have dogs and cats hair all over in sides the washers see through window and all over the screen vents in dryers and yet no one cleans them and or seems to care.

Comment: We moved in here because the rent was the cheapest we could find for the size while including central air. Thats the only reason that Im giving it two stars. Everything else was horrible.The staff was very nice when we were doing the move in procedures and what not, but as soon as we moved in, they completely changed into these awful women that wanted nothing to do with your apartment. We couldnt get them to put nearly anything on the walk-through list and had to argue about anything we asked them to put on it, so were positive were not getting our deposit back at this point. Its nearly impossible to get anything from the office as the office is almost always closed as all the employees here seem to be on permanent break or always away from the office, nor do they return your phone calls. Theyre very aggressive with their mannerisms and how they speak to you, as if youre lower than they are.Its also completely useless to put in a complaint as theyll just treat you more-so than before as if you were garbage. Expect to get the run-around on nearly anything you ask of them and dont expect them to ever be in their office. You cant complain to the corporate office about anything they do as well, so good luck with anyone in their office and hopefully you wont need to talk to them for much.

Comment: This place was alright when I and my roommate moved in but then we realized there were bugs everywhere... We decided to move and break our lease. We paid for the one month in advance and agreed to the promo free month back. Loren from front desk area seemed real nice but the reality was that she submitted our paper work to some collection agency stating we still owed the remaining months of our lease plus the promo even though we didnt live there the remaining months (3mo). I understand that thats how they may do business but when we went to the front desk to ask about the lease she said we just had to pay the extra month and the promo because we didnt fulfill ourLease. Be careful about this place and for Loren and all its bugs.
