The Party City on Orchard Lake Rd is awesome. They went above and beyond this morning to make my moms 90th birthday special. Since our whole family was in quarantine, we were unable to do anything for our mom. Angie helped to order and get a beautiful balloon arrangement delivered!!! The balloons were perfect!
I plased an order online this past Thursday. I had it delivered on Friday. I didnt get my mylar balloons but thats okay. I used the balloons that came with the helium tank. So it all worked out.The manager called and apologize regarding it.Besides that The service was great, will definitely be back
I call and confirm that they have items that neither of there other stores had. Driving over an hour to be refused service. This store is a joke their employees werent even wearing mask. Well Im not gonna allow my rights to be infringed upon, my freedom doesnt end where their fear begins...
I placed an online order for in store pick up at 8am and it wasn’t ready until 8pm. While inconvenient, this wasn’t a deal breaker. When I arrived the next day to pick it up, there was only one (very very kind) woman at the front. That was it! Props to this lady for handling every customer solo and keeping her smile on.
I love Party City! Party City is like party supplies heaven! They literally have every party item you can possibly think of...from the frequently used themes to the more unique. To make matters even better, the WB staff is absolutely AWESOMESAUCE! They were very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. Excellent customer service.
If there was a way to give this store 0 stars I would. I arrived today around 2:30 pm to pick up an item I needed for an upcoming party. Entering the store, I noticed about 3 people standing in line waiting to purchase items. Although there was a line, I wasnt bothered because I also noticed that no one had a lot of items so I anticipated being able to leave without a long wait. I ask a salesperson for location of what I came for , found it and made my way back to the register que. To my dismay the line had extended to 5 people with no sense of urgency apparent. A customer was returning some of her merchandise and didnt appear to be happy with how she was being served.The young woman at the register was apologetic and empathized with the customer which was good, but failed to call for help to assist the rest of us until a patron asked her to- not so good. The customer asked for a copy of her receipt since she had additional items on her receipt and didnt want to leave w/o a copy of her receipt. This request apparently was beyond her ability and she asked for the manager to return to the purchase area. The manager arrived carrying a register till and was asked by another patron if she could assist the young lady with the line. The manager said Ive got someone coming in who can assist you (as in theyve not arrived to work yet) and someone coming up front to assist you. She then began to address the customer she was summoned for and told her that there was nothing she could do for her because she ordered online and she needed to keep the receipt and beside she had a receipt mailed to her when she ordered online. The lady calmly said she she knew that but would still like one anyway. The manager looked at the customer said Cant do it and in the same breath proceeded to walk away from her and didnt wait for a response from the customer. Behind me was 2 other customers who were so offended by the managers tone of voice and attitude . They had a basket FULL of items , but decided they wouldnt give their business to someone so rude. I followed right behind them equally disgusted. Attitude is everything and I dont pay for demeaning and dismissive behavior.
Wow, they have everything under the sun! Such an exciting place. I was able to get everything I needed. Easy to find what you need and plenty of items to choose from. Some good prices. If you know what you need early enough, go and buy it piece by piece and that way it doesnt cost so much at one time. Enjoy and have fun while you are there!!!
The staff at this store is absolutely awful. We have never been to a Party City and received such horrible attitudes. Its almost like they are angry at you for needing balloons blown up. They proceeded to ring up our items and throw them across the counter, it was absolutely shocking. This is the second time we have had the same issues at this store. It is truly shocking, especially considering the online options for purchasing these types of products.
Since they have moved to their new location, they have really gone downhill as a place to shop. They don’t have enough staff to do checkout, balloons and taking care of the rest of the store. This is especially true of one of the managers who does not step up to work as cashier or blow up balloons. when there are long lines. This manager will only handle returns and then leave the checkout area. Also, they do not have the IT infrastructure at this new location to handle what their systems need to process credit cards. This along with the understaffing, causes an unnecessarily slow checkout process.
I wish i had an option to give -5 stars. And it is just because of the extremely rude manager Mary ann. I was shocked how rudely she replied me when i asked for assistance. I don’t know if she was having a bad day or she was racist as i was wearing hijaab! Either way that is totally unacceptable! I am glad i was able to put her back on the spot. I would personally call corporate too and file a complain for her rude and racist behavior. This is not ACCEPTABLE specially if you are in customer service. I am shocked how she is a manager with this kind of attitude. Definitely not going to buy from this store if Mary Ann is still a manager.
I was there today to get my whole family halloween costumes. It was crazy busy and the staff worked very well together. The gentleman working in the back on costume pulls from the stock room balanced all the requests very well. Marissa and jenna worked great together to get the line moving up front. The kept their patience, even when they were both dealing with two pretty annoying customers.
I visited the store to get balloons for a birthday party. When I spoke with one of the sales associates I was informed that they were short on helium and were only fulfilling pre-made orders. The associate then told me that I could purchase the balloons at the store and then go to either a Meijers or Kroger to have them fill the balloons. In my experience some stores will not fulfill this request if you have not purchased the balloons at their establishment so the associate should not have been making this suggestion. When I asked if I could get a discount on the balloons for the inconvenience and since the sign clearly states that helium is included in the price of the balloons she was rude and just handed me off to the manager. When the manager came to the front he also was not budging on the price of the balloons even though they could not give me full service because they did not have a contingency plan for the lack of helium. I was highly disappointed in their customer service and will never visit this location again.
I came in with a quick return, when I was in line, I noticed it was taking awhile for each person to leave, thats when the manager Brigitte notified us that she was training new people and everyones computers kept going down and had to be restarted which takes a few minutes, Larissa who helped me, was very kind and professional, she had to get Brigitte due to computer problems, so many things were happening at once, online customers coming in for orders, new staff in training, balloons having to be filled, system problems, throughout all of this every single customer got greeted with Welcome to the party (I believe thats what Brigitte was saying.) I wish corporate was there to see the team in action, it would have been used as a training tutorial. I was very impressed, I also have to add that if the system going down is a often occurence it needs to be fixed because it was hectic as a customer in a hurry, but when I saw everyone so professional in a situation that people had to wait much longer than expected, I just had to give a great review, hats off to the Farmington Hills store on Orchard Lake because they have an excellent team and leader, I would have included the other employees but did not have direct contact to see their names, they were fantastic as well! See u in a few months for another bday in our family 😁
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! especially when it comes to invites! I have had two awful experiences when it comes to this particular location and I will never go again. From the lady that was working in the invitation section to the person checking you out truly awful and rude customer service. I have known two others that have had the same type of experience.If anyone is interested in this location please save yourself the trouble and visit the Novi location they have great customer service who actually know what they are doing.
I have never been To a party city. Needless to say my mind was blown with how amazing this place is. I was having more fun running around the store seeing things i havent seen since my child hood than my son was. Lol. However at the register im assuming was a new worker, and the other cashier was being very rude and short on telling her how to blow up the big balloon for my son. She went through 3 before she finally figured it out. But she handled it well. I will be going back.
Very poor costumer service. I called for an item and the sales person put me on hold for 10 minutes and never came back. Another sales person came on the phone, and I explained to him that I had been on hold for 10 minutes, and he just threw me an ok, then I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor came on the phone, and I explained to her that the phone etiquette of her staff is not that great, and she told me that they are busy today, and when I said ok, she hung up. A really bad team.
Asked for help to get items up high and was told she would help in a minute, 25 mins later with eye contact and waiting as patient as could in area of item and then we even saw that worker in front behind counter doing nothing so we put our other items worth $75 down on the counter n left. Will not be going back.😡😡😡😡
Today I attempted to get balloons inflated by placing a order over the phone. I was told that the only way it could be done was online or in store. I attempted to have the rep help me make a online order, after alot of umms, and maybe, and try this. I gave up.What happened today is a inconvenience to me as a consumer. The representative probably didnt even do a online tutorial to truly know how to place a order herself. Instead of saying, I am not sure let me get help. I found myself frustrated with the call and disconnected.
Bad customer service. This black lady name Myla was extremely rude and was giving me an attitude at the counter. I was waiting for 5 mins while she was busy pumping bloons.... Those bloons wasnt even for a customer that was waiting. Talk about having the wrong priorities.
Not attentive, over priced alot of stuff, and needs better customer service. All in all okay but can go to dollar store for some of this stuff or online for half of it. Hope they work on budgeting their products in store with competitors their loosing because they wont look at gross value supply cost out weighs demand much people just cant afford.

2022-02-19Spent over 100.00 on balloons for my dads 80th birthday. Less than 40 balloons next day they were on the floor. I could have gone to the dollar store and got better

2020-08-12Bridgette is a marvelous woman!! She was so helpful that I thought she owned this branch!! Definitely a viral asset, as employees just dont care anymore!! Even with her mask on (thanks Covid-19) - I could see her big welcoming smile, (and yes, she had it on correctly lol). This store has a huge collection and if they dont have it in stock - will order it for u ASAP! Will be back for future parties!

2021-12-12Trying to get someone to help you at this store is futile. I ordered balloons for a baby shower, green,gold and white……they put black ribbon on them. I asked for white and they said they couldn’t get white. Shelves are just about empty, I will never be back!

2021-09-07False advertising. Website says that they fill balloons with helium. We bought special balloons not available from Party City. Took them to the store on Sunday AM and were told they had a 2 hour wait for filling balloons. Lack of staffing. But filled their own balloons immediately.

2020-06-26If I could give this store zero stars, I would. I called to check on the status of my order and was told that the confirmation number I was provided with from my online order was inaccurate. A representative gave me the information to contact Party Citys corporate department for further research/review. After speaking with the corporate department they provided me with a difference reference number. After calling back to the store, a rep answered the phone and asked me to call back due to a line instead of assisting me or even placing me on hold. After agreeing to call back, the store stated that they were still unable to locate my order with the order number corporate told me to reference. This customer service is beyond horrible and I strongly believe the representatives and corporate department will need to go through more professional development training in the customer service area.

2019-10-28I would have only gave a zero star if it wasnt for the amazing worker at the Party City location in Novi. The staff there was no help other than him. I was frustrated because I had ordered online for store pick up at the Brighton location and got a cancelled email afterwords and they stated they couldnt find what I had ordered but what got me was the money was still taken out when it wasnt suppose to until I picked it up. I called the Brighton location and they said they couldnt help me and to call Party City which I did and it was closed for the weekend. I checked my bank account today and the money was still not refunded. I called party city today and the women was nothing but dry and rude on the phone. Telling me I have to wait 5 days to have my money put back on my account and there was nothing they could do. The money should have never been taken out until I picked the product up. If youre going to take it out and not give me what I ordered saying you couldnt find the product but shows online you had 3 of them.. then you should make sure people get their money back quick. Thats a lot of money I spent to just not be given back in a timely manner. Especially when I had to buy a new one and on top of having to pay for 2 more for my children. The costumer services sucks just as bad as the staff besides the gentle that FINALLY helped me finding my second option.
