Party City in other cities:
Nice selection, but to me it seemed a little too crowded with costumes & candy. Guess a one stop shop is convenient for some, but didnt see any deals for candy that would give customers reason to buy it at a small shop rather than going to food stores. People who worked there were very helpful.
This store is a pure joke. Bought frozen themed balloons, was told I could come back and they would fill for free with receipt. Ya my mistake never again brought them back after I paid 30 dollars for 6 Mylar and 6 latex i then had to pay an additional they called packaging fee 1.19 per balloon. So my receipt or whether they were bought there apparently did not matter. I would’ve took my balloons elsewhere to be filled but hands our tired and I’m out of time. Customer service horrible as well ! Will not be back.
Have placed two online orders for balloons recently during curbside-only, and had very fast and efficient experiences. Email notifications seem a little wonky (was informed at 9 a.m. that part of my order was picked up) but the order was correct on pickup. Team is very kind. This is my go-to PC!
I placed an order for my daughters first birthday party. Not a huge order but some balloons and decorations. I receive a confirmation email with a total of $34.21. Stated in that email is Bring a method of payment. We havent charged you yet!*. I receive another email 1 hr 39m later that shows a total of $33.28. One minute later I receive an email telling me my order is ready, again the total showing is $33.28. This time I check my bank account to see how much I was really charged. I find that I was charged twice-- once for $34.21 and the other for $17.98? I was baffled, especially considering the email said to bring a method of payment, I received 3 emails with different totals and now Im being charged $52.19. I contact the store and speak to a woman by the name of Brenda who is trying to be helpful but also talking to me like I dont understand how finances work. After I explain everything to her several times she offered to get my order sheet, in which at that time she hung up on me. I called back and after going over everything with her again for 9 minutes and going back and forth about the several prices that didnt match she hung up on me again. I ended up coming in Saturday morning 11/10 to pick up my order. I spoke with Brenda and instantly she put the blame on me as if i was hanging up and calling back. I told her that every time she tried to place me on hold she hung up and i didn’t have time to continuously call back. However, she was not helpful and she blamed the problem on a “new system”. She said if there was a problem then I’d have to call corporate because there is nothing they can do in the store. Then I asked for a copy of my receipt to show exactly what I was being charged for and another representative said “it’s already crumbled up and in the trash”. I was amazed at the lack of customer service. I ended up having to be stern with the rep just to get her to give me my receipt and I even accepted it out of the garbage. I get home and start to set up my daughters Minnie Mouse themed party to find out I was missing the banner (710514 1st Birthday Minnie Mouse Banner). Do you think I was told that it wasn’t in there? No. My final amount I was charged was $33.28, which came in two payments ($17.98 & $15.30) and it took me 5 days to find out how much I was actually being charged all while Party City managed to secure $52.19 in my personal bank account. This was just such a terrible experience and I will order everything from Amazon from now on. I was willing to pay a higher premium for convenience but the customer service is just terrible.
Items were a little pricey and not as much of a selection as the Chesterfield location. Ironically the items I bought were all available at Dollar Tree for 50 percent less. I was purchasing for a party of 15- Circus theme. There was one male Associate working whom was so nice and helpful. He always smiled and gave salutations to everyone I observed. He actually approached to see if assistance needed. The other Associates standoffish never smiled or acknowledge anyone in store.I was surprised that the majority of the holiday items were still regular price as other stores are running 90 percent off for holiday and New Years. There was one small table in front of store with candy 50 percent off.
Anna at the registers was sooo incredibly nice and helpful!!! I changed my balloon selection 3x and she was so kind, patient, and understanding!! She even showed me the selection for Eid & Ramadan!! I have never seen that before and it’s super exciting :) You don’t get customer service as amazing as that anymore! I absolutely love party planning and because of the pleasant experience here I will definitely return!
Staff is terrible, unfriendly, and not accommodating. Did not acknowledge me after standing in line and waiting for my order that I had placed online. I was standing two feet in front of them with no one else in line, so they clearly saw me. When I finally approached staff and asked where to pick my order up, they looked annoyed and walked away. I wasnt even sure if I was being helped because there was no communication. When I received my order, I politely said, Thanks, have a good day. No response.
Was in the store for 20 minutes longer than needed to be today. Hot as heck in there, can hardly breathe in my mask while lady in front of me has clerk blow up samples of every color balloon. Manager finally came up front to help when the 10 other people in line have been waiting for at least 15 mintues with earpiece hanging out and has the audacity to scold the clerk in front of everyone for not calling for help. Put your damn earpiece in and pay attention!
Dont buy anything here unless you know FOR SURE its what you want. I dont usually write reviews, but I am so annoyed I just have to warn people (I know, thats how these things usually go). As a typical party store, theyre fine. Typical party supplies, typically way over-priced. If youre not looking for something highly specialized, I suggest the dollar store.Anyway, I decided to try to get a jump on Halloween this year because I usually wait until the last minute and find myself scrambling. My forethought brought me no rewards, however. The plan was that our family (all adults - siblings and spouses of siblings) would attend a Halloween party as a group of gangsters from the roaring 20s. We started out costume search in September, right when the Halloween items started to be available in stores. We found that Party city offered the same Roaring 20s costumes as the pop-up Halloween stores - some items were more expensive, some less, but it averaged out the the same price. We decide to start with gangster hats and boas, Both items costing $10/pop. For a group of 8 the cost came to just over $80.BEFORE buying we inquired into the return policies of all of the stores under consideration. We were buying for our family, knowing we would see them over the weekend to show and test what was purchased. Party City claimed that if the items did not work for us and/or did not fit that we could return them on 3 conditions:1. we had the original receipt2. if there was packaging it was unopened3. it was before Oct 24We purchased on Thursday (by the way we had to look at many many hats to find 4 undamaged items with tags on them), and saw our family on Saturday. The hats didnt fit 3 of the 4 men in the family...not even enough to squish them on. The boas shed non-stop as well, and we all concluded that we should perhaps rethink our theme...I didnt think the boas would have any feathers left by Halloween! On Sunday, I attempted to return the items to Party City. I had the original reciept, the card I made the purchase with, there was no packaging to have been opened, and it was wall over a month before the Oct 24 deadline. The boas were accepted. The hats were rejected. The manager said to me how can we know you didnt wear the hats and then try to return them?Well, I didnt know how to reply to this (civilly), so I took my crappy hats and walked out. First of all, the hats were being returned in better condition that most of the other hats on their rack. Secondly, I was TOLD I would be able to return them and the supposedly reasonable return policy was the reason I chose party city over the competitors. Finally, most stores return policy is based on the premise of good faith. Clearly, Party City doesnt believe in good faith, thus it shall no longer be received from me.
This is the slowest place ever. All of the workers were on their phones. The girl doing balloons didnt know how to tie the balloons, they had 5 people up front and 1 person doing balloons with 2 people waiting for balloons. The manager just barked orders and was no assistance to anyone. I will not be returning
Warning: Do NOT try to use this locations kiosk to place an order!! I spent over an hour trying to place an order through the in-store kiosk so I could get free shipping. I was first told by one girl that the kiosk is down but if I connect to their Wi-Fi, the shipping would be free. I tried this several times and it did not work so she told me to stand in line and wait to talk to the manager. Then, the manager told me the kiosk IS working and to use it in order to get the free shipping. He and I both tried to get the order to process and there was literally no response from the site due to the extremely SLOW connection. I wasted a bunch of time trying and was then told by the manager, Its not working and there is nothing he can do about the shipping. I should have just stayed home and placed the order and saved myself the inconvenience and frustration. Not accommodating at all. Never going to this location again!
Gets a little crowded at times, but staff keeps the line moving fast...I dont visit here often but staff always seem to remember me from my last visit and always gives me complete customer satisfaction each and everytime. Great service and large array/assortment of specialty items-always a surprise on what you can find here!
Terrible customer service!! The store is full of young adults that are walking around like zombies whose every response to even the most simple question is mam I dont know. The store isnt even the size of the smallest dollar 🌳, sooooo....how do you not know anything! I will never patronize this Party City ever again!! No matter how many times Ive patronized this Party City, the service always sucks!! Oh...and p.s.-check your receipts, I was overcharged and had to come back to the store to get an adjustment!👎
If youre looking for cheap junk for parties Party City has got your back. I was a little sad at their lack of Mardi Gras stuff but it wasnt surprising given how far Michigan is from New Orleans. Sometimes you can find Halloween decorations here that, despite being cheaply made, are quite effective. Ill be hitting them up soon for St. Pattys Day.
I was just at this party city and they wouldn’t even let me get two balloons for my birthday because they were so packed with orders they didn’t have any helium. That is unacceptable and absolutely not the customers fault that a store cannot keep up with its own demand. This location was in Sterling Heights Michigan on Hall road. Unacceptable. I went to another location much farther away from me and called ahead and they had everything that I needed. I spoke with Meghan at the Chesterfield location and she checked ahead of time to see that they had the balloons I wanted before I drove over there. That is how you run a store!! Never coming back to this location again!
Party City should be worded differently theres nothing party about this city this place sucks theyre overpriced they carry Dollar Store items and they always have something damaged about their product is a remember properly the store itself is pretty damaged and so are their employees are rude as heck God forbid they blow me up a balloon
I love Party City you could literally go in there for party supplies for any occasion whether its Halloween,a birthday party, graduation, baby or bridal shower, bachelor/bachelorette party or just a fun festive party like Cinco de Mayo or a costume party. They have everything you could possibly think of to cover any occasion for a party whether its plates, table covers, napkins, costumes, balloons, favors, candy the list goes on and on. Whatever youre looking for 99% of the time they will have it. They also have hats and t-shirts and little knick knacks and stuff that are cute, things that can be used on a day-to-day basis not just for a party.
Ordered balloons online and paid to have them inflated. Received an email that my order was ready for pickup. Went to pick up the order and it wasnt ready at all. I was told by the staff that they didnt fill the order because they just assumed I would be coming in the next day to pick up.

2022-04-18Ordered some party supplies one day and was able to go and pick them up the next. The only problem I ran into was waiting in line for 20min while the ONLY two gals running the store waited on other customers. Understaffing seems to be endemic these days.

2022-07-11I wanted to buy a tooth shaped baloon. They did not have it. But what I came to know is that I can buy it from Amazon and inflate it at party city. Thats great. I called other stores such as dollar tree, kroger etc if they can inflate balooms bought at other stores. They do not.Overall great experience. They were enough people to help you about your questions.

2022-06-24Spent time shopping and picking up all the items for my son’s birthday party and come to find out they will be out of helium for at least two days. Wasted my time and they should’ve posted something at the door. Ridiculous

2021-10-24Party city is always my go to when it come to party needs or just random things. Its fairly cheap when it comes to having balloons blown up. I had a couple balloons that my friend bought on line and had blown up in the store they didnt have a wait time and they did a great job. Party supplies are great to either get in store or online and they come quick as well. If u need any thing Party related go to party city u wont be disappointed.

2021-07-29First off this store is short staffed, I walked in there for a few balloons and had to wait in a huge line because they had some manger guy barking orders but not helping them out. The audacity of this guy to tell the cashiers who are waiting on us to answer the phone when he literally was standing there, was just baffling to me. The girls running the front are real nice, overwhelmed, but doing their best. I asked the girl waiting on me with the guys name was, I think she said he was the store manager. I told her good luck with the craziness there. Last time I checked managers need to pull up their sleeves and work not make us customers suffer.

2021-10-29Purchased Halloween candy ($15 multipack) and 2 strobe lights ($11 each). 1 of the strobes stopped working after less than an hour today. We opened the candy as soon as we got home and the hard candy was melted all over the other candy. Their return policy was 24 hours. Garbage. Will never buy from here again.
