Comment: Trying to figure out why I just paid $265 per pound for 410a coolant from these people when a 25lb container costs between 250-450... For 25lbs... And where Forbes reports an average of $12-$25 per pound. At the moment Im inclined to say this company scalps and scams people INCREDIBLY hard with pricing. Id look around at other places if you can.I was quoted $75 to come inspect the issue, which should include travel time. Never been charged travel time by a service before. Were either in your area or not. Tech was here for 1 hour. So it sounds like theyre saying I was charged roughly 400+ in labor for the service call. Thats just robbery. And I wasnt quoted 105 per pound, I was quoted 265 per pound. On top of that, the tech REALLY liked spending a lot of time talking and waiting for deicing on a unit that hadnt run for even two hours that day, was morning, and the waiting barely changed the reading on his equipment.I dunno. Even if theyre quoting 105 per pound, thats still like a 400% markup. Doesnt seem right.

Comment: Mr. Hernandez and crew were outstanding. They completed the project professionally and neatly. Mr. Hernandez would take the time to explain what was going on during the installation. Any questions we had were answered and explained. Once the AC unit was in place Mr. Hernandez gave us an educational tour of the AC unit, heater, and explained what we should do to preserve our investment. We also got an excellent education on the thermostat and its functions. Our sincere thanks to Pennies Air Conditioning for the quick response and also to Mr. Hernandez and crew for the expertise and professionalism they displayed while performing their job.

Comment: If I could give more stars I would, I called explained what issue I was having with My A/C they were pretty straight forward on the issue and price. They sent Filmon within an hour. He was very polite and professional. He answered all my questions and gave me suggestions on my concerns. He showed me what he was doing throught the whole service. Within an hour our AC was up and running just in time for summer vacation. Excellent service I highly recommend them.

Communication via text and phone was easy; I never had to wait long to hear back. Jesus and his team were professional and took time to explain and show me all the work they did. Not only did Isaac fix the problem, he and his son cleaned the swamp cooler. His son scraped lots of scale off the cooler pads saving me the expense of replacing them for the upcoming Summer. Since I wasnt at home while they worked, Isaac sent a number of photos of what they had done. Excellent work and very friendly.

We had our hvac system replaced over 2 years ago, and recently began to hear a banging sound coming from the vents when the furnace fan stops. I called and spoke to Johnny. He had Philman and Ivy come out the next morning. They inspected the entire system and found no issues with it. I called Johnny back and he asked if I had any of my vents closed. I found the vents to 2 of my back bedrooms closed. I opened them and guess what? No more noise. Not only are Pennys prices reasonable, but their service couldnt be better. Comment: I had so many problems with the furnace in the home I purchased in June last year I ended up having to get a new one. They came out, looked over everything and gave me my options. I decided to purchase a brand new furnace and they came and installed it pretty quickly (3days later) and it only took a couple hrs. Comment: Our heating and air conditioning unit went out just after the recent holidays. We had a home warranty company that we thought had our back. Turned out they really didn’t. After a frustrating 2 week back and forth with them, they finally had a HVAC technician come out to diagnose what the problem might be. We bought our home in July of 2001. It had just been built. For over 20 years we never had a problem until now. Our heating and air conditioning unit was over 20 years old. The HVAC technician said it could be repaired with some new parts, but he said the parts were very expensive and there was no guarantee that down the line in the future they wouldn’t fail. His suggestion was to replace the unit with a new one. The cost would be between eight and twelve thousand dollars. Just what I didn’t want to hear. After the frustration with the home warranty company, I really didn’t trust them or him. We decided to get a second opinion. Our contractor who remolded our home called Johnnie from Pennies HVAC company and they sent a representative out that same day. He basically told us the same thing, but he quoted us a much better cost that was within our budget and that he could start replacing the old unit with the new unit the very next day, which I might add was a Sunday and it was raining.The guys showed up about 9:30 Sunday morning, worked all day until 5:30pm and got most of the heavy work done. Mind you, like I said, it was raining, rained all day. Didn’t stop them though.We knew that it was going to rain that Monday and possibly Tuesday, so they returned Wednesday morning at 9am and by 2:30pm we had a new very efficient heating and air conditioning unit with an outstanding warranty.We are very pleased and would recommend Pennies Heating and Air Conditioning Company to anyone that has a heating and air conditioning problem.You can’t and won’t go wrong in my humble opinion.Thanks PenniesJ. Comment: Had a wasp guy accidentally switch the furnace offer didn’t know we thought the hvac system was done for. Called another company, they told us the switch was just off BUT was pushing for an entire system replacement and scared us saying carbon monoxide was leaking. Got a second opinion . Ask for Filmon.. They said if your furnace went out (which it didn’t) why would a company push for an ENTIRE system replacement when you could just replace the furnace. He said our system is old but fine. Mind you my brother is an engineer for Carrier the inventors of AC and Furnace, my brother said the same thing it looks fine. No replacement for $15k is needed. If you want honesty go with these guys. I paid for a second opinion and I got an honest one that made sense. Comment: I requested a service end of August and the owner scheduled Mr Filmon to do the service. The tech checked the upstairs AC and he quoted me $560 to change the transformer. I agree with the amount although it looks expensive. He then checked downstairs AC and he said that I need to change the thermostat. He then quoted me $721 and this includes transformer, and a wireless thermostat Kit. I said yes, to the quote which I regret. He came back the next day with the Honeywell thermostat kit, but he didnt finish installing since according to him, he still need to change the contactor outside and quoted me another $528.16. At that point, he gave me no guarantee that the AC will work even if he change the contactor. I said no to the third quote as I already spent $1,281. I emailed the owner and he responded quickly to my concerns. He asked the tech to call me but unfortunately I missed his call. I called the tech back, texted him and no reply or response. So after spending money, AC downstairs is still not working. The tech is also rude.

After a week or so of suffering through the heat with the house being 90°+ inside we decided we needed help! I looked online and found Pennies had lots of positive reviews. He was very friendly and professional. I already knew our AC unit was looking rough and feared that it was on its way out. Comment: Called Pennies Air Conditioning, and Jason immediately pick up the phone, and was trying send a technician within the next two hours. As it was previously stated by other reviews. I was extremely shock, and I was totally unprepared. Therefore, we made an appointment for next day, to give me some time to arrive at the property (mother house I was coming from Los Angeles). Filmon technician arrived, and he was extremely polite with a positive attitude. In addition, Filmon have answered all of my questions including my mother questions. Including testing out the air vents, testing out the vents are actually blowing air with the toilet paper. My mother was extremely happy with Filmon service, and the Air Conditioning is now working on the house.With that being said, I will definitely will use Pennies Air Conditioning again, and I highly recommend to friends and family members. Comment: Just wanted to say Pennies Air Conditioning, Heating, & Solar’s Jesus & Johnnie were great to work with on quoting a price for the demo of our old 1983 split system in the attic & outside which was on its last leg. They answered all our questions and Jesus showed us the bad on the old AC system which was barely working in the attic (hands on in the attic when he visited to provide a quote), then provided different options which fell within our budget and were actually lower than the previous quotes from other subcontractors, Jesus also went over all the controls and simple maintenance to keep our system running efficient and cool in the beginning and a second time before they left. They were careful not to track any debris in or out of the house and cleaned up when they were finished, as this was a large 2 day project. They answered their phone immediately and we had a technician at our home within 3 hours. We needed a new HVAC system and their team was at our home the very next day. Comment: Jesus and his crew showed up bright and early and worked way more than a full days worth of work. They ripped out and installed a whole new system in 1 day. Even though they worked crazy hours, the quality and attention to detail can be seen in the work they did. My old system was messed up and broke down every year. Within minutes of arriving, Jesus diagnosed the inherent system issues with ducting and intake sizes and told me what was needed to be done to make sure the new system would run correctly and efficiently to make sure I got my moneys worth. The crew cleaned up after themselves that you wouldnt even notice they were there. After the job was complete, he walked me around the system and showed me everything, helped set up the nest, and told me the maintence requirements. Excellent customer service and will use them in the future.
