Comment: If I could give them less I would. They screwed me because I needed a truck for a move from a storage to another and I scheduled it more than a week prior to the date of the move. They called me two days before the move date and stated that they had no truck for me with a lift which is the only reason I didnt use U-Haul in the first place. When I called the main number, they said they have no trucks with a lift in the bay area for me. So now Im going to have to find another company that can accommodate me within 2 days or Im out $500 for both of the units, the one I reserved and the one I already have. Horrible service. Cant count on them.

Comment: I rented a 26’ box truck and a car carrier (with insurance) from another location and I foolishly jackknifed the empty car carrier and bent the coupler latch. I didn’t notice I damaged it until I got on the highway and realized the rig was suddenly driving much more jerkily and squirrely-like than before. I drove the rig to this location first thing in the morning to solve the problem. They looked into swapping the car carrier but they didn’t have a viable one on their yard (they were all in worse shape than mine), so their service center replaced the part I bent on the spot and got me rolling smoothly again without a hassle or delay. Really nice people to work with and I’d go here again if I wasn’t moving away. Incidentally, my advice to everybody is ALWAYS BUY THE MAXIMUM INSURANCE ON EVERYTHING YOU RENT! NO MATTER WHAT! AND TRY TO FIND YOURSELF A SPOTTER FOR COMPLICATED REVERSE OPERATIONS

Comment: NEVER USE PESKE!!!! They will try to charge you 130$ for gas even if you fill up the truck and have proof. Then you have to spend weeks calling to get the invoice taken off and then when they confirmed I should have not have been charged you still have to call every other day asking for help and they never call back or help, I still get emails every other day telling me I have 48 hours to pay. I paid in full for the truck and they still keep trying to get me to pay this made up charge. Avoid at all costs!!! They will try to make you pay more then they quote!!! Really terrible organization and company

Comment: Terrible, they will try to bill you 130$ and say you didnt fill up the tank even though you did. Then they will hassle you every other day for payment with no way to contact anyone about it. Spending months getting this resolved after they told me I didnt have to pay. Terrible company. Please Avoid!

Comment: Simple, when you make a reservation for a moving truck, you get the day off, you get your friends to come over and help, then you get ready to go and pick up your truck that you call and reserved days in advance maybe weeks and you told me we dont have the truck for you,after multiple calls you guys find out that the truck never made it back to your fleet, perhaps fixing that little detail may help your business

Comment: I have to edit my review to 1 star. I waited over 20 minutes to be told “we have bad news!” Out of three girls, not one seem to care today. It was comical for the one to blame everyone with what she called a simple oversight, but when that one left the office the other one blamed her for screwing up and renting our reserved vehicle to another customer prior. So I waited another 15 minutes and was asked to wait over 2 hours while another vehicle was delivered/dropped off from San Francisco.

Comment: Rented a truck been here since 7 a.m to pick it up came the day before to do the paper workto have it ready and now the person who works at the office locked the truck with the keys inside. The main problem is that they dont have master or spare keys and ask me to pay out of my pockets to call a near lock smith to come by and unlock it for me. Seems like there service is garbage here never again. Its 8:40 a.m still outside waiting and they dont seem to care and help with there issue. Is this how there service is and want us to rent n buy from them? They dont carry there on equipment or lock smith and pay with there fee i mean it wasnt me who locked the keys and why do i have to pay if im renting the truck its not my falt. Bad experience here

Comment: Tried to rent a truck from their San Leandro location for the long weekend. A one way rental to Napa, needed the truck for 2 days. Spoke to Martin who quoted $100 per day and unlimited mileage. Total price was about the same as UHaul. But the U-Haul truck needed to be picked up in Pleasanton. So Penske closer.But when we went to pickup the Penske truck the actual price they wanted was $1,100. Apparently Martin is a new employee who didn’t realize that the $100 per day rate was for the extra day, not both days.So if Martin answers the phone when you call hang up and call back later. But Penske is really at fault for not training their employees and not honoring their employees quotes when they screw up !!!
