Comment: This review is for Manager Nicholas Clark. My company had an issue with our account being on hold. I went through several penske districts and higher ups nationwide and begged that they hear me out regarding a mistake that occurred within Penskes system, all of the other reps I spoke to gave me the quick heartless and carless we cant help you robot like treatment and passed me on to a corporate email, that never replied dating back moths. After speaking to over 20 different Penske reps Nicholas stood by me as a client and followed through despite higher ups maybe advising him not to talk to me and to not look deeper into the situation. As a client you want to be heard when mistakes happen and supported. Nicholas deserves a raise and a promotion for doing what he did and being patient enough to hear and understand my concern. I cant say Im fully happy with my status as a customer because of the hoops I had to jump through to find someone caring enough like Nicholas. Thank you Nicholas.

Comment: Alex Castellanos in the Santa Maria office was amazing in helping me secure my truck rental. I was worried about getting the truck I need on the date I needed it… we were flying in to get the truck and we only had 2.5 days to get to Texas. A super tight timeline. And since other companies weren’t reliable in the past, I was worried. But Alex assured me and triple checked that I would have what I need. The process was seamless. I will use Penske again!

Comment: The General Manager (Kyle) and team were OUTSTANDING in both our recent rentals from the Penske Santa Maria store. You always hope that youll get good customer service, but when you feel like your rental agent has your back in every detail, what a great feeling. My wife and I were very impressed and will recommend Penske to everyone.

Comment: Careful with these ones. I own a small moving company and had a client move to Santa Maria. We used a couple Penskes to bring them across the country. This location doesnt provide after hours check in(I was told on the phone they did) so I was forced to leave the keys hidden on the truck so that I could catch my flight. I filled them both up at the gas station close to their location. After check in I was told that one of the trucks was a quarter tank low. I should have taken pics of the dash before I left because that is false. There is also something wrong with the mileage they recorded, weird... The other one was 15/16ths, which I could begrudgingly accept. But the other was NOT a quarter tank low. Seems like someone is filling their tank and charging the customers. Or something. Just make sure that you get pics of everything if you must drop at this location.Other than that Penske is awesome. Just be careful with this location.

Comment: The truck I was given to rent had almost 200,000 miles,dirty in and out, cruise inop. Rollup door worked like it had a broken door spring.Not one panel was unmarked on it.Pulled to the right severely.In my 35 years of working in logistics Ive never seen such a poor quality vehicle rental.Penske has really gone downhill.

Comment: Penske is hands down the best company to work with regarding one-way residential and commercial moves. I worked directly with Virginia at the Santa Maria location. As a customer, her service and attention to my moving needs were hands down the most attentive. A+++ service, best value for moving trucks. Virginia made scheduling a truck very easy and was super informative of my options. Id highly recommend working with these folks.

Comment: I went today to inquire about renting a truck and a tow dolly. No one was at the front counter.I pushed the call for help button twice. After 15 minutes no one had come to the front to help me so I left.I will not be renting anything from that place.

Comment: Rather expensive to rent a pickup for two hours or a day. Ask if miltary discount was given, yes but still high to rent truck. Left there went to u-haul rented nice pickup did what i had to do chg was quite cheap 63. 00 dollars for a day rental. Only issue was the office closed at 3:00 pm. Finished with pickup after couple hours but chg would have been sama. Two hours or 24 hours chg was 63. 00
