Comment: I got an oil change, supposedly full synthetic but, they are only giving me 4,000 miles. In other words, they used water down oil. A full synthetic oil change at my dealer lasts 6k-7k miles but at Pep Boys only goes for 4k. This is a rip-off.

Comment: An overall disappointing experience getting new brakes. Ultimately a resolution amounted to 3 lost days and nearly 10 hours of my time.My SUV needed 2 new rotors and 4 new brake pads and the service took 3 hours to complete each visit. While there I found my vehicle was continuously left unattended with no work progressing and the issue was not resolved. They did not honor my appointment times and had poor customer service as the issue continued. My 2nd visit took 3 hours and all they did was claim they had to grease the brakes because it wasnt done the 1st visit and they couldnt duplicate the issue. Finally the 3rd day I requested a refund and provided video evidence and they decided to upgrade my brakes since their claim was the lesser expensive brakes werent doing the job. (At no point was I offered different levels of brake quality...)At the end of the day it took 3 visits to get my brakes to stop squealing and required I video the noise since the staff could not duplicate it themselves during ANY of my visits. It was unpleasant and although lesser in cost it ended up requiring far more time than if I had gone to a more quality option.At the point I would say not to trust that they are knowledgeable or capable of working on vehicles to a resolution.

Comment: I had a great experience at this Pep Boys the other day! I had blown a tire, far away from home, and it was already early evening and every other shop was about to close. Augustine was able to make it happen on a time crunch, they were able to patch up the tire and get me back on the road in 20 minutes I was so grateful. They stayed late just to help me out. I’ll definitely be recommending Augustine Pep Boys to all of my friends and family. They’re reliable and friendly and I couldn’t be happier with their service.

Comment: Pep boys, not many think they’re that great of a shop or it’s just tire work, I beg to differ. Long story concerning a rental car that was poorly maintained, guess who I took it to and got everything fixed and inspected by, that’s right Pep Boys. The mechanic, Robert, did an excellent job of repairing the vehicle… new brakes all around new tire and a full inspection just to make sure that I was not rolling around in a death trap cause when I brought it in that’s what it felt like(rental agency will be dealt with). The guys at this pep boys listen about your concerns and they do the job fast and right. So in closing do not be afraid to use pep boys, someone’s honesty to you may not be what you want to hear but if it’s a concern you better listen, in other words they’re not breaking stuff to fix it or some crazy thing, they’re being honest and can show you the issues at hand then it’s up to you to fix it.

Comment: 106 dollars for a synthetic oil change?! Rip off. I just remembered why I quit coming here. Wont be back. They charged 48$ for labor, what a joke!!! Update: He said if I wanted him to change the oil filter it might cost me an extra 150$ because the casing is stuck and he would have to force it so the casing might crack and have to be replaced. Ive been played before homey. Either way you win. I say no dont replace it, and you still charge me for the labor. Which you DID. BUT! Had I said yes, you wouldve broke it on purpose in order to charge me the extra 150$ PLUS MORE LABOR. I took the damn filter home to do it myself. Why is it so hard to find honest mechanics?! Yall take one look at me when I walk in the door and jack up all your prices and do everything in your power to squeeze whatever cash you can out of my wallet. I might be a girl, but Im not IGNORANT. P.S. I googled labor costs on an oil change and its only 30$.

Every service I have had done there had to be re-done, not long later, and they still charged me for everything, with at most a 10% discount on thousands of dollars worth of labor and parts that they shouldve fixed correctly the first time. You might also be lucky enough to collect your vehicle with new problems, that they will deny having caused. Dont bring your vehicle here.

As this location in Asian community they should give better service or out of business because when we come here we always pay more than others Asian mechanic shops and we need customers service but that boy and Pep boys seems don’t care I rather go to Asian shop to paid mùa less and don’t have to wait long. There are so many mechanics shops around. Comment: I had a battery installed to replace my old battery they didnt install it properly it wasnt fastened down properly the plastic cover wasnt placed on there it was just loose and they didnt tighten the negative terminal so when I was driving to work its stalled out in the fast lane it was very dangerous I called AAA and before there they arrived I moved the cable around and got it to start was able to get to Pep Boys they took their sweet time and it took them 3 1/2 hours to install a battery. I will never go back to Pep Boys!! Comment: SCAM!!I took my car in for a flat tire from a nail. The front desk worker took one look at it and tried claiming that they couldn’t patch it because the nail (that was in the tread) was “tilted” too much for them to drill a straight forward hole to patch. They then further tried to sell me a new tire instead.First of all, I specially asked for it to be patched which does not involve drilling a hole. So basically they where going to tell me that they where going to patch it, but really only plug it. And then tried telling me it wasn’t fixable.I instead took my tire to T AND J TIRES and they patched it with no questions asked. I highly recommend T and J tires which is right up the road from pep boys

Comment: Came in here after one of the rental’s tire went flatter overnight after picking it up the day before. Andrew took care of us right away. He showed us the issue with the tire and replaced it. His vibe and personality was super chill and cool. I’m pretty sure Andrew, my husband, and brother-in-law are besties now.All jokes aside - I had my toddler in the car and am astounded by the negligence of the rental company. Andrew went above and beyond and gave us the customer service I would have expected from the rental company.Thank you Andrew!

Comment: I was glad Pep Boys Auto was open on Sunday because I had a tire that was going flat. I didnt get my car there until about 3 pm but they were able to do it, so I was really glad not to have to take time off from work on Monday. Andrew helped me and even sent me a ride with Lyft when my car was ready - which I never expected, and I didnt have to pay for it. The cost for patching my tire was very reasonable, too.

I wanted the service done on Wednesday so I called and asked if they can squeeze me in but never received a call back. I had a flat tire in the rear and when the guy working on my car brought it back down off the lift. He took it around the block doing peel outs. With my rear tires being flat. Comment: Wasnia is the manger here and since having my Oil changed I’ve been very pleased with the service which is why I returned on the other occasions for things that were very pertinent to my Toyota forerunner to be done. Not only were they very friendly but they took the time to show me in my engine what needed to be done and why it needs to be done which I feel is crucial because it’s very hard nowadays to find a good mechanic one that won’t take advantage of you I being a female that seems to happen a lot in life when it comes to car repairs.They are extremely trustworthy and when given the estimated time they are always right within that timeframe which is another big deal because if you’re relying upon your car for your every day use and you have to give it up for a few hours that makes a big difference that they are actually saying the time that they’re going to finish completing the work. I couldnt believe what the guy was quoting me because I had done the same repair in February at Pepboys in Anaheim for $29.93 total. The guy adamantly told me that that there are no cheaper lightbulbs.So I googled how to replace headlight lamp and went into the SAME Pepboys store to buy Philips H11 lights for less than $20. It took me less than 15 minutes to open the headlight housing and replace the bulb.I am truly disappointed in what I experienced today.

Comment: I took my car in there for brakes, because they were grinding really bad. Saul was the man working the front. I was so impressed with the level of professionalism from the get go. The department was really busy and Saul was so calm and efficient it was amazing. He let me know how long it was going to take to get the brakes inspected and then took my keys and put things in motion. They got back to me in about an hour and let me know what I needed. I knew I was going to need new rotors (which can be expensive), and that was in fact the case. The cost was a little more then I could afford. Saul suggested getting the Pepboys credit card and I was able to find a 10% off coupon online. I was able to get the service done and not have to take off anymore work to handle it. The work was done in less then 2hr and I left totally satisfied! Thank you Pepboys and Saul you guys are awesome!

Comment: I’m a Lyft driver with the rental program so I have to use PepBoys for maintenance. First off if Anita (spelling) isn’t at work nobody will help you make an appointment. You will be told to call back another day. Now to what really pisses me off.You have to make an appointment for an oil change and that’s fine. Problem is even with an appointment it will still take hours to do a 15 minute job. One time they didn’t even pull my car in until 3 hours after my appointment time then took another hour to change the oil, 4 HOURS!!! So if your lucky enough that Anita is at work to even make an appointment you still have a long day ahead of you, bring a book.My friend went to have his breaks replaced and they insisted he needed new rotors, he refused and took the car elsewhere. He was told by the new mechanic that the rotors were fine and didn’t even need to be turned! I first hand saw them tell a old woman she needed new drums and blamed the rust layer that all drums get as the justification.Stay away from here, it’s one thing to be dishonest but slow also? Get it together PepBoys.EDIT - I’m not letting you know who I am so you can retaliate. You know what you guys do wrong. You are so bad that Hertz got an account with Firestone to give us more options. And FYI they are awesome! No appointment needed and 15-20 minutes for an oil change. Vehicle is fleet and this group of pathetically ran management and service department should be written up and fired!!! The first visit I asked him to inspect the Tesla, he couldn’t pull out tesla in the system and just kept telling me that again n again without any solution while the other guy who made appt for me said they do inspect for the Tesla but he wasnt there on that day. Had to see the store manager and she was really nice to help me out by calling and sending me to another pepboy location where she knows they do have inspection for tesla. I wouldn’t blame him and be mad because of they dont have tesla in the system but the attitude of not trying to help and ignore the customer issue. The 2nd visit was for my dad’s car, it wasn’t tesla so I thought it wouldn’t have any problem this time and decided to give this pepboy 2nd chance. Comment: Made an appointment a week ahead to have trans flush and filter change. Told them exactly what my truck was year, make and the transmission model. Get there and the counter person tells me they dont work on diesels. Then why in the hell did make the appointment. All my information was in the computer. I was giving these guys a second chance from the oil change fiasco. By the way you are not working on the engine you supposed to work on the transmission. Its the same one on a heavy duty GAS truck. Total waste of my day. Just went home and did it myself.

Comment: 2 hours for an oil change. Appointment at noon. car did not move until 1:30 after I complained twice. Shop floor is filthy. Hope that dirt doesnt end up in my vehicle. Very disappointed. Manager called to correct issue and apologized. Thank you. Still very dirty but Ill try again.

Comment: Just spent 2 1/2 hours at pepboys in Huntington Beach to do a transmission flush and my car never got touched or moved. I asked for my keys back and they said why and i told them that im going somewhere else to get it done. Another thirty minutes go by and they finally give me back my keys. I refuse to go back to any pepboys again. And thats after having an appointment. Plus they got people who showed up two hours after i did in and out of the shop faster.

Comment: Went to Kragen auto parts and O’Reilly‘s just to get some coolant and a radiator cap 2012 Jeep grand Cherokee neither one of them had radiator cap neither one of them even had a Chrysler approved coolant I wound up at Pep Boys they had everything

Comment: Extremely poor service. Dont bother making an appointment. Brought car in for oil change for 2 oclock appt. 3:45 and still nothing done for a 15 minute job. Not my first experience here but same slow service. Unbelievable waste of my time!!! Had to give 1 star just to leave a review

Comment: Copy/paste of my email to corporateI took my car to the store in Westminster California.I set an appointment for 11am and arrived at 9:45 in case an earlier time slot was available. My car was not into service until 11:45 only for the technician to then begin asking the assistant service manager (Edward) how to do the alignment. Edward then told me the only way they could set the alignment panels on my stock wheels would be an improper means that would cause damage. I said since I was also having a rotation done then why not break the outer beads to allow proper mounting. He said we are not going to do that for an alignment. I then asked him to get the store manager and he responded that he is the assistant service manager. I said then get the store manager. He just stood there so I said Ill go get the manager and that Ill be back in a minute. I then proceeded inside the store and asked the cashier for the store manager. She said that was her so she accompanied me to the service write up department where my car was already being taken out of the shop.She spoke with Edward and then left. Edward then told me I could try another pepboys and his technician handed me the keys. After that he just ignored me. So, after more than two hours of waiting I got zero service done and told to go somewhere else. I was a mechanic at Ford for five years and his excuse of they couldnt break the beads due to the tpms sensors in the wheel is a joke. If you cant do that then how do you change tires?I can tell you that I will never be taking my vehicle to any pepboys and will refer others not to take their vehicles either.On Easter Sunday that pepboys was the only option I had for my alignment and I really needed it done because I had replaced major suspension components the day before.

Comment: Okay, lets start with this. The guys in the mechanic shop lost my parts to be turned. The service manager took fast care of the situation and replaced them with new parts. Ive not had customs service like that any place.

Comment: Not up to the task. Wheel balance took 7 hours with having time scheduled in advance. Very poor service. My wheel balance was not done properly and I had to return for the second time to read balance the wheel. But second time wheel balance was not successful and I have to take my car for third time.Do not recommend this place to anyone who plans to change tires

Comment: Run down and unmaintained. Employees are great along with their services, but clearly need to be better support and by corporate, better pay and better everything. Get a larger dumpster too for F*sake so the trash isnt overflowing due to incompetent upper management and waste management company. My review will continue to decline each time I drive by and nothing has improved.

Comment: I have always come here for tires and oil changes and have had good service until today. I scheduled an appointment which I have never done before but being close to the holidays I thought I better this time. I specified what tires I wanted. My appointment was at 5pm I was early so I didnt expect to get in right then but it wasnt until an hour later they pulled my car in. After about 45 min after they pull it in they come and tell me they only have 2 of the tires I ordered now if they would have checked my order they would have seen what tires I wanted and could have gone to another store to get 2 tires. But the ones they did have were twice as much. After hour number 2 I had to use the restroom so I walk in the store and see a restroom sign at the back of the store that is behind a door that says authorized personel only. And at the 3rd hour they said my car was ready. The guy charging me says I have to go inside to pay even though they have 2 POS at the service counter after I pay we have to go back to the service counter to finish the transaction. Needless to say this will be the last time I use Pepboys for anything I will pay more and go to the dealer.

Comment: Came in without an appointment for a low tire pressure warning light that was “On”. Was told the wait would be two hours. Turned out it was 2 1/2 hours before they even got the vehicle into the service bay. Then they checked all four tire pressures and tires for leaks with nothing found. They returned my vehicle over an hour later with the warning light still on and without even mentioning the tire pressure sensors might be bad. Won’t be going back.

Comment: I have been to this shop for many times either for part services or for goods. Today I went there for just a patching due there is a nail on the rear tire, the guy suggest me to replace a new one which is fine, but the guy told me must replace ALL 4 tires at the same times because it is a SUV. I only want to replace 2 new tires at a time! So, nothing get to be done today, and tomorrow I have to go Elmore Toyata across from street because they are closed today....

Comment: Didnt even make it to the place, I called to see if they can help remove a stripped drain bolt for the oil and the woman who answered kept insisting I would need a new oil pan as well and said they would not remove the bolt unless I replaced the pan because the inside threading might also have a 50% chance to be stripped if that were true I dont think the bolt would stay in there and hold oil pressure my car has 0 oil leaking! Terrible upsell tactics shameless theres a 100% chance Im going somewhere who knows what theyre doing

Comment: Worst service ever!!!!! As far as I can tell there were only 2 employees in the store. People were lined up for parts and that was about a 30minute wait...then it was another 20 minutes to check out at the register. I could have gone to many other auto stores and got what I needed in the almost 1 hr I spent waiting to get 1 spark plug. Never going back! Service is horrible.

Comment: DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PEP BOYSMy Ford F-150 FX4 just turn a 190,000 miles on it, so I am think about putting new Spark Plugs in. I thought, hey let do a radiator flush on also, because I do go to the desert to go riding.Well, they did the Plugs & flush, but when I left the store my truck did not run right. The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT came on. The next day I took it back to have it looked at, and the solvent from the flush eat the gasket to the #1 cylinder. So Now I have a blow head gasket, and they wont fix it, because my truck has 190,000 miles on it. They told me that I need a new engine. Well, I told them to give me a call with some prices. I went in there 4 times, and talk to all the managers, and they will get back with me. NOT ONE PHONE CALL FROM ANYONE.
