Ive been to Pias in the past for dinner or a drink and its usually a welcoming atmosphere with decent food. Recently, on a cold March morning, I went there for a Funeral luncheon and staff had not turned on the heat. The dining room was freezing and it didnt warm up while we were there. They also did not think about the radio station blaring rock and roll while 100 guests were grieving. Make sure you discuss housekeeping and details with staff before you have an event at Pias.
The food is ok, but the portions are tiny! My fiancée was still hungry and his ravioli didnt even come with sauce on the bottom. It was like it was covered in a bowl and then thrown on his plate. The lasagna was also ok and portions were on a small side as well. We ordered dessert and his pie was literally a sliver. We wont come back anymore. Things have changed The waitress was nice and very attentive.
I work in Taylor. I had a customer bring me a pizza for lunch. It was from Pias. I can say it was the best pizza I ever had. All it was I large pepperoni and cheese. OMG! It just taste real. The pepperoni was fresh. The cheese actually tastes like cheese and the sauce was excellent.. yummy 😋
Raved about Pia’s to my friends that have never been, so I decided to take them there for my birthday dinner. Pia’s once again did not disappoint. They were hooked as soon as that first basket of bread hit the table. Also, shout out to the waitress (I’m so mad I didn’t get her name) that heard it was my birthday and knew how much I loved the bread, so she brought me 2 rolls with a birthday candle stuck in them. The best birthday dinner experience ever. Can’t wait to go back!
This is the 4th or 5th time in a row that we have ordered Pias didnt get out rolls 3 different times another time ordered Chicken Alfredo got it home they didnt put the noodles in the order. Tonight we ordered my husband got it home after working 15 hour day once again no rolls or spaghetti side that is suppose to come with the Veal Parmesan. Called and talked to the manager told me the next time I order ask for him and he will make sure it is right. Told him all the different problems we have had and never had anything replaced even though we have called and brought it to there attention. He didnt offer to replace it. Obviously they feel they dont need to make there customers happy so they all continue to have jobs. I am a manager in the food industry and I would never allow one of my customers to walk away not happy. That is your job. Period..
Called to get information about having a 50 person baby shower.... big mistake... couldn’t even take 5 minutes to talk and everything that was said was with a nasty nasty sarcastic attitude. NEVER HAVE I EVER HAD SOMEONE TALK TO ME SO DISRESPECTFULLY ESPECIALLY WHEN IM TRYING TO BRING A 50 PERSON PARTY THEIR WAY. Whatever. Atleast that’s one less place to bring my business.
If you plan to get a carry out, please be prepared to have the most patience on the planet with this unorganized system that they seem to have. And be prepared for the rude woman answering the phone with her condescending attitude. Wants to ask us what spot we’re in (after we had checked in with a girl outside ten minutes before we called) so we state we’re in a spot next to 6 that isn’t tagged for her to say “that would be spot number 7.” Gee, thanks for the math lesson, I always did struggle with what number came after 6. Perhaps yall have a meeting to teach yourselves the hands on the clock when we have the decency to call 4.5 hours ahead for a 60th birthday party carry out for a pickup at 5:30 since we get staffing issues right now and thought we’d be considerate of that, only for us to sit there patiently for thirty minutes past our pick up time. Finally we’re told after I get someone they we’re waiting on bread, when we had asked multiple times within that thirty minutes and they couldn’t tell us anything. which leads me to believe the order got lost and they were making it. Communication is seriously lacking here. Enjoy, if and when you get your food that is.
We were there in a party of about 30. We had reservations and the tables were all set up for before we arrived.Weve ordered a simple buffet style dining of large sheet Pizza , bread, and salad with either Italian or ranch dressing. The food was self-serve but the beverages were brought to us by the hard-working. Our glasses are never empty and the adult beverages were poured appropriately! The restaurant was fairly busy and the people working all had smiles on their faces!
This is only the third poor review I have left, ever, and I am 52 years old. I have left many positive reviews for other establishments, and am fully aware we are all human and mistakes happen. However, my experience with Pias today was exceptionally poor, and merits being documented: My husband and I placed a to-go order tonight. We ordered a side of spaghetti, that came without the spaghetti pasta. Just greasy sauce, that was bland. Our Italian trios of lasagna, alfredo and chicken parmesan were inedible as the lasagna was hard, dry and had to be cut with a knife. The alfredo had a slimy, watery consistency to the sauce, and the chicken, in the chicken parmesan, was grayish in color. Additionally, everything was cold, the garlic rolls were stale and totally devoid of garlic, and the salad consisted of half a handful of lettuce with 2-3 small pieces of under ripe tomato on it. I have eaten at Pias twice previously, years ago, and both times had an enjoyable meal. But, based on our experience with them today, I will never patron Pias again. I must admit, when I called Pias to complain, and stated we were willing to return our inedible food, for a full refund, the manager agreed. Our money, and 25% tip were returned, in full, but we were still left without dinner, and the time/gas invested making two trips there and back.
My mother was sick with covid 19 and my sister and aunt went to pick her up some chicken noodle soup ( a larger container) total withthe pizzas the cost was 75 dollars (not an iisue) how ever the roach in the soup an salad were a problem we called the complain all we got back was SO WHAT DO YOUSSS WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT then he hung up we have been eating here for years sad to say never again
Been there since I can recall. Staff hosted our family members memorial. Caring & very kind. Helped us set-up video. Our buffet was simple & good. ( Im a veggie but it was o.k. wasnt about me .) Had more than ample space & they tidy-up quickly. Felt like we all had nothing to fuss about. Thats the best part. Thanks again for caring for my B.F. & Dominguez Family members. Very appreciated ♡ stay safe people!
The food is fantastic.Weve made the trip from Jackson 2 times. Its well worth the drive. The homemade Cannelloni is out of this world. So light and delicious. I should have ordered 2 of them.Even if you dont have room for dessert, try one anyway. Its a perfect end to a delicious meal.
I called and ordered 3 lasagna dinners. After hanging up the call, I realized the family lasagna was cheaper and immediately called back to change my order. I was put on hold for 15 minutes! When the girl answered, she rudely told me I shouldve called back sooner. I explained I was in hold for 15 minutes and she said there was nothing she could do. When I picked up my order, I asked to speak to a manager. The girl walked into the back room for a minute and came back and said there wasnt a manager working that day and to have a good night. I asked whos decision it was that I couldnt change my order after being on hold for 15 minutes. She looked confused and said the cooks. Ive been going to Pias all my life. There is always a manager!I got home with my 3 dinners. Our soups were COLD and the lasagna was barely warm.
Been here a few times. Ordered takeout and dined in. Quality and authentic food! The first meal I ordered was fettuccine alfredo, I didnt care it but its just not my style. Thats my favorite meal, so I am very specific about it. Second time, I ordered spaghetti with mozzarella baked on top. I loved it, the sauce was delicious!! Third time, I ordered cheese bread and pizza. Cheese bread is one of the BEST Ive ever tasted!!! Pizza is also very flavorful and authentic. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you want some good Italian food!!
We have been to Pias many times and have never left disappointed. They have a large menu, but you would be missing out if you did not order a pizza! They have an extensive menu otherwise, and something that will appeal to everyone. There is a large bar with a variety of drink optionsm
Just a 1st class place and not just for their food but the hard working individuals. A friend had passed away and we had plans for a wake at another restaurant in which the restaurant lost power. Well the last minute the wonderful folks at Pias took all of us there was 100 of us last minute and they really did a great job accommodating us. Thank you all very much!
Great food. It came in a timely manner and was hot.Bread is amazing. I ordered the trio and the lasagna and chicken parm looked homemade I felt the alfredo sauce was either a jar or store bought - but it was decent. Our waitress Leah was very attentive and anticipated drink refills without asking or placing the empty glass at the edge of the table.
Used to have the best Italian food around. But..... I dont know what happened. Terrible/awful food the last 4 times eating there. Im pretty much done giving them another chance thinking it may be better next time. Because it plain and simple went from great to god awful!!!! On top of that, the last time eating here I got the gnocchi and got really/very sick!!!!
My husband and I love PIA’S. Candace is usually our waitress and she is fantastic. But this evening she was not working and we had a waiter Aiden. The spaghetti sauce was not correct nor the receipt and he wanted to argue with us about both. We know the food and the sauces. It was not our first time in the restaurant. Arguing with the customer is not the way to make your pay check
Just wanted to give the Pias staff a huge thanks!!!Celebrated dads 90th birthday with 80 of his closest friends and family a couple weeks ago. As this is not the first event we have held at Pias it was certainly the biggest. As always everything went perfect. The kitchen staff did a marvelous job as always with Andy and Mary at the lead and the wait staff was awesome. It was so good I may even go back today for dinner. Thanks momma Pia!!!
2/10- Carryout Only experienced terrible customer service. YET tried again.5/18- Dined in and the food was amazing and just enjoyed every bite down to the side salads. Our server Candace really hit it out of the park for our visit. We will definitely be back to see her and enjoy a great dinner.
Overall I like the place. I like the food and the service. I do have a few complaints though as of my last visit. Currently during the pandemic they do charge a sanitation fee of $2. Which isnt a big deal but it does add to the bill for everyone, and is not mentioned until you open the menu. Which could cause some to want to leave after reading that. Resulting in needing to sanitize anyways. My other complaint is when buying the cheese bread the multiple times I have went, you are always charged for any sauce you get on the side. Which is something I never have done at other places unless youre ordering extra sauce. Most places serve it with the bread as that is the usual. Which we did order two sauces but they forgot one of them. So we didnt mention it. Which are glad we didnt since there is a charge for each sauce. My last complaint which seemed like a one time issue was the soda seemed very flat (6-26-2020). But that seemed like a one time thing that happened. So overall I recommend them as they have good food and service.
First time in this evening and I cant wait to come back, the service was excellent and the food was even better. Drinks kept coming and the food! I personally had the fish and chips, the meal was very tasty with a perfect serving size. COVID procautions are very well managed from wearing a mask to the distance between tables. Love the atmosphere, people laughing and enjoying the moment. Thanks again for a wonderful night out, even during these crazy times!
Probably wont go back. Food doesnt reflect pricing. Ordered spaghetti, the sauce was watered down like they didnt care to strain the noodle and there was no meat in the meat sauce .ordered chicken parm, the sauce was excellent but there was a tiny piece of dry chicken. I mean was genuinely excited for it and it let me down, especially for the price...
Man I drool over there supreme pizza. I usually have no problems with their food. Waitresses are always phenomenal there and theyre always there with a smile. They have a great selection of beverages for adults and kids. And the menu is set up for everybody and the pizza is just phenomenal. To be exact just order pizza from them theyre great or sit there and eat a pizza its good. In fact when I was in California I couldnt wait to come back for their Pizza.
The staff is shady the owner is rude they stole money from my card the owner acted as if she was going to refund me and now refuses to do so or even Acknowledge the proof. Then continues to go on about how “they are a family restaurant and I guess needed my 75$ to stay in business.Do your self a favor.. go some where eles.. the food isn’t really that good. & definitely don’t pay with a card or they might steal your money and delete the transaction like it never happened.
Almost Every single time I order take out it is wrong. I literally have to check all of my dishes before I leave the parking lot. When I dine in it’s never an issue, when I get delivery also never any issues with my food.I’m not sure if you have the same people handling the calls every time and packaging up the take out meals but this gets so old. I always order baked angel hair pasta with marinara sauce and cheese, (pretty simple) but as take out I’ve received the order as mostaccioli with mushroom, spaghetti with meat sauce, angel hair with Alfredo and now tonight just as regular pasta not baked. When I order I always ask for extra sauce and extra cheese baked, not sure how that would come out as angel hair with no cheese...I love the food at this restaurant but it is very disappointing to always have to check the food before I leave the parking lot to then send it back inside and have it made as what was ordered.I don’t understand why I only have an issue with the order when it is a take out?
Service was really friendly, but when I opened my takeout container of angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce, it smelled of chemicals. I figured it might be the container so I tried to shrug it off. I mixed it all together and there wasn’t enough sauce to cover all of the noodles. That being said, the noodles tasted of exactly what I was smelling. I’m not sure if something went wrong in the kitchen this evening, but makes me cautious ordering from there again as this was my first time going there.
We just had a huge family lunch here today (appx. 30 people). The food was wonderful, our server Maria was fantastic, and even though they were slammed with other large reservations, we did not wait long for anything today. I highly recommend Pias for a big family meal, or a quiet dinner for 2. You wont be disappointed! They made our family get-together great!
Eh. The proportions are off. Not enough food and drinks to go along with the prices. The tables were small and they didn’t seem to know where to place people, right on top of each other in an empty building was not ideal. The fries were good. That’s about all. The soda was not well carbonated. The employees are super friendly though. The pizza was pretty decent as well. Won’t be coming back. Wasn’t worth the almost $100 we spent.
I was denied service due to a political mask that I was wearing ( Donald Trump). I am absolutely shocked and disgusted by how I was treated by the bartender. I understand the times in this country are very difficult but no one should ever be denied service for expressing themselves.I’m saddened because I grew up eating at this restaurant, and we had my grandfather’s funeral memorial at this restaurant. To have this happen to me is truly devastating. No matter what we believe in or how we express our opinions it should not change how we treat each other.
Moved from area and have not eaten there for about two years. It did not disappoint.Service was great ( Maria was our waitress ) food was great, good price.Maria was the waitress you dream about having wait on you. Never had to ask for anything. She never bothered us but watched and when you wanted something she saw you and was there.Great dinner.
My fiance and ordered dinner because she is super sick. I went and grabbed our go to Italian restaurant and tipped well knowing covid has taken its toll on servers. Not only did they leave her main item out, when I drove back to get it, it had been cooked at the same time. Her pizza was colder than my Pepsi! I have identical receipts from the same Time! Both were made at 6:19 pm and she got her pizza at 7:59. Sincerely,Your Former Patrons
Great atmosphere and food. Totally covid compliant from my observations. They make the best Tira Misu anywhere. Great place for family gatherings during normal circumstances they can handle very large groups with a very large dining Hall. This also allows them to maintain social distancing in serving more customers. Support your local business and stop on in you wont be disappointed.
The food is decent. I wouldn’t say it’s amazing Italian but It will do. The problem is this place has gotten out of hand with gauging it’s customers. The menu says a 4oz ranch and 4oz marinara sauce is $.95 I ordered one of each for my cheese bread even tho it should come with at least one sauce. My total for my pick order according to the menu they have on their websites says it should have been $15. The order taker tells me my total is just under $-19 so when I arrived I asked to see the bill they charged me $1.25 for the small cup of ranch and three dollars for a small 4 ounce cup that was filled maybe 3 ounces of marinara sauce! When I asked the boy who delivered to my car he just shrugged his shoulders and said he doesn’t make the prices I will not be back because I don’t appreciate being nickeled and dimes It is also illegal to charge a Different price from what is stated on the menu
My first time here. I was expecting great things because I heard great things. The area we were sitting in was a bit run down and did not feel like a nice Italian restaurant feel more like a 24 hour diner feel. The service was ok but the food was microwaved to hell and not very flavorful. Pretty bland. The salad was watery with no flavor. We wont be back. I gave 2 stars because I feel like if we had sat in the area that looked like a white cloth restaurant, that may have been nice but I will never know and the bathrooms were clean. Just ask them not to leave your food in the microwave for too long.
Went there a few days ago and for the most part everything was good. They had vegan cheese this time. Would be a 4 star review if it wasnt for two problems one the pizza came out super hot and fresh but the pasta was cold. Second they charge just $3 extra to share food... weird on top of that they dont have vegan desserts but if you bring your own they charge you $9.95.
Hadnt been here in over 10 years and noticed it lit up when driving to sons hockey game. Stopped in afterwards because i recalled it being very good. Loved the pasta just like before, the lasagna was the perfect balance of flavors. Sister in law loved her fettuccini. Wife enjoyed her perch and son loved his spaghetti though he filled up on soup and bread prior to getting to eat much of it. Seems much nicer inside than it was when i used to go but then again i used to go for lunch. Service was great as well.
Dining area was not very clean at all, service left much to be desired. We had to flag down another waitress to get a refill after trying to get our own waitresses attention for about 10 minutes, and she gave us a nasty attitude. The salad was swimming in dressing, the gnocchi was very disappointing, and the pizza was just okay. I dont think ill be back as there are much better places around town.
Its not the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at but its the best in the city of Taylor in my opinion.I usually get the egg plant parm. its very good and it makes you forget its not made with chicken. I also love ordering pizzas from this establishment they do a fantastic job at a decent price. I always end up getting a canoli or two to take home before leaving they are to die for.Overall its not the best Italian restaurant but they offer a good product at a great value and is the best in Taylor. So if your looking to try a new place out or find something close to home they do a great job and you will leave satisfied.
First time visiting... There was a lot of confusion in seating our party. The food itself came across as standard Italian without much imagination or depth of flavor. The sauce was very greasy from the beef fat. The meals were average at best. Not sure we would come back.
I order delivery here probably at LEAST once a week, always around dinner time or later than. I usually rotate between the same couple meals, but everything my boyfriend and I have had is amazing. Our favorite is the deep fried ravioli you can get as a side, or the gnocchi. I have one complaint, well, 2.. They forget the rolls that should come with our dinners quite often. I dont get as full without the rolls because the portions are small, so I expect it when spending almost $14 on one dinner alone. My other complaint is the real issue, and sometimes makes me not even want to give them my business, is the customer service. Always very impatient, and seems to rush you while ordering. They also never ask the questions they should to ensure the customer will be happy. Like, if a meal comes with soup or salad, why dont you ask, rather than assume salad? Just wish service was more friendly and outgoing. Overall good food, little pricey for the portions but its worth it.
Im a longtime customer of pias. They are the best in the area. I moved about 25 minutes away. But anytime I am in the area I have to go. I manage a Italian restaurant now. And I can tell you that this is the best in the area. You will not be disappointed. Rhonda is a wonderful representative for your family restaurant. Fantastic service and as always fantastic food.
Carry-Out Experience: Very pleased! I havent had gnocchi in a long time and had a sudden craving for it. Ordering process was very pleasant, gentleman on the phone was very friendly, yet to the point. My order was ready on-time when I arrive to pick it up, packaged very nicely in a heavy-duty brown-paper bag. Fresh rolls were included, which are delicious! I added on meatballs to the meat sauce/mozzarella topped gnocchi and could not have been happier! Thanks, Pias!
Why have I not been here before now? This is an awesome Italian place for groups or individuals. We struggle sometimes to find a place that can accommodate our family for birthday dinners, this place has plenty of room. The pizza is very good along with the antipasto salad. Nice selection of other Italian dishes as well.
Good old fashioned Italian restaurant family owned. Loved it not a chain. Food was really good. We had a buffet luncheon after a funeral they did a wonderful job, plenty of hot food. The spaghetti sauce tasted homemade, pizza was good so was linguini and meatballs were so tender. Will go back!!!
I hate to have to put B&Ms on blast like this but what has to be said has to be said. Wife and I ordered delivery, paid extra and tipped the driver a full 20% what we got was cold food and missing items. I called immediately to explain the situation and was told there was no delivery driver to bring the missing item, the first girl treated me like I was trying to rob them of a 1 dollar sausage the second one told me the best they could do was try to refund the item but no garuantees. I live exactly 3 minutes from this resteraunt it would have taken 10 minutes total for Michelle to delegate someone or deliver the missing item with an apology and make it right for the customer. I would have never left a customer with this type of service.
I feel the food is of average quality, and is o ly rated high by others because many other places in the area are aweful. I had a baby shower there and they booked an over large party overlapping mine. FYI I booked mine 3 months in advance and the overlap was a funeral dinner. We were rushed out. Also it took way too long to get food and drinks to us. I wouldnt blame our waitress as we only had one to our group of 30, however this should be managed better. My guests were irritated with the hour and a half wait to get food, very awkward. Pizza was good, thats where the stars came from.My advice would be to book elsewhere for larger parties as it seems this place cares more about the numbers.
Went to a party of 20. Mixed Pizzas were ordered then set on table, set up for 7 people per large pizza, too small of salad to share for 7, too small of mostacholi again for 7. So what ever they put in front of you is what you got. They never said if we can get more of anything, yet they told us to get up reach over others sitting and get different flavors. They should of done buffet style for this group. I will never go back!
Just left the restaurant very dissapointed and feel ripped the F off. Order appetizer of calamari, very small portion and most of them the breading fell off. The worst part it was raw and watery inside. Did not complain just didnt eat it. When are food arrived it looked like it was sitting in a warmer for a while. The food was terrible!! My husband smoothed chicken was in a pool of who knows what, the ckicken was cut up in small pieces and dry as hell. My pasta was terrible also, spit out the first bit. We did not eat the food. She took off the calamari and made us pay 30.00 for food we did not eat. Wow! Never again
I have been to this place dozens of times, I always go for one specific dish that I love and on every visit thats exactly what I get. The service is never very good but the food is so occasionally we go back. Last night after a long day of work I was in the mood for some Italian so we stopped in, my food was wrong and the server wanted to argue with me about it until she realized that in was in fact not right. They bring out a basket of bread to everyone who comes in without asking but they charge you for it! I am not cheap and have no issue paying for a nice dinner but last time I checked, complimentary bread is not charged to your bill. My white wine was warm and we were never offered refills, had to get up once to get our own refill and over all just very disappointed with the experience. Definately wont be coming back again.
Not a fan of this joint. Below average Italian food if that. Possibly reheated food and there’s no flavor. I understand the joint is downriver so you have to dumb down your food and not a lot flavor but this extremely bland in my opinion. The staff is very nice I will say that. It’s a whatever local joint if you’re in a rush but I’d go with Magdalanos or Giovannis over this joint any day.
This restaurant is large enough to hold a wedding reception (only for dinner), yet the “manager” or whoever is in charge REFUSED our business because our wedding is in March and not February... All while giving my fiancé a nasty attitude. Our party size was no more than 30 people. We wanted to put down a deposit and everything but were denied and made felt like we were beneath her. Never will I ever recommend this place, the service is blatantly appalling and does not deserve anybody’s business. It’s a business that died when the original family passed it on. Disgusting.
First time I was ever there was April 2, 2017. OMG the moment I walked Im the whole restaurant smelt so delicious! Me and my mom split a small Caesar salad and a small cheese and pepperoni pizza and my fiance had the manicotti and the side he picked was fries. Everything was so delicious we all ended up sharing everything we got!! The portions were amazing, I wasnt expecting that. They dont skimp on anything, it was enough for my mom, my fiance and myself to share it and eat as much as we could and still had leftovers of everything! I was very pleased with this place! The food was delicious, our waitress was so sweet and thoughtful we didnt have to ask for refills or more napkins because she was on top of it and the whole restaurants atmosphere was very nice and also a great family restaurant! I would definitely recommend Pias Ristorante and Ill definitely be going back more often!! Definitely 5 stars!
Prior to today 9-23-20 this was my favorite restaurant. Today my side order of pasta came out wrong twice before finally getting it right on the third try. My main order was brought out wrong as well. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the correct order. When it finally came out correct the chicken was rubbery in texture. I asked for it to be baked a little longer. I waited an additional 10 minutes and it still came out rubbery. I ordered the same thing I always order so it wasnt that I dont typically like the food. I typically love the food here. When I decided I didnt want it i knew there policy was that i would have to pay for it anyways. However, my waitress insisted she would talk to her manager. They came back and offered $5 off of my bill, as I had eaten the sides. Which I understand to an extent but it was offensive that a manager did not even come to apologize for the many mistakes that were made. Then to offer $5 rather than standing by their policy was insulting. This is a restuarant that I go to about once a month. A manager eventually came out and instead of offering an apology she told me to leave and never come back. I paid full price for my meal which is fine except that I felt an apology for the mistakes of the cooks was due. Anywhere else when your food is incorrect an apology is offered, here they tell you to leave and never come back. Ill have to find a new favorite restaurant. Prior to today I would have given 4 stars but their no refund policy kept them from being 5 stars.
Been wanting to try this place for 20+ years . Finally did on a Friday night . I noticed mid aged people working in the kitchen, not punk kids (not that I have anything against them, they dont take pride in their work) like most of the other longtime restaurants that arent as good as they used to be . The pizza was very good (cheese & pepperoni) with a little thicker than normal crust . The pizza was cooked perfectly (with good size brown spots on the cheese, & the edges of the pepperoni a little crisp) unlike most other pizza joints, where the cheese is just melted either white or yellow. I like my food cooked properly, especially in this day & age . The garlic rolls are awesome!! If you put them in a zip lock, theyll be good for a couple days . Its nearly an 1/2 hour drive for me to Pias, but worth it(I have no problem driving for good food). Next to try is baked mostacolli parmesan & lasagna !! Cant wait !
I do not recommend eating here. I have been going here since I was a child and I have noticed an overall decline especially the last few years. I have had many gatherings including a baptism celebration, rehearsal dinner, and kids birthdays. My recent experience was a small gathering of about 11 people for my 13 years olds birthday and the waitress had an attitude and was passive aggressive. I had to get up and ask for menus, they forgot one of our entrees, the waitress seemed overwhelmed and when I asked for simple things like more bread and water at the table her response was like I had personally attacked her. She then referenced a recent bad review she had from someone on Facebook, which set the tone for the rest of the dinner as awkward. There has also been times lately when we have went for just a small dinner and my husband and I order the Italian Trio and the chicken breast is like rubber, to the point where it’s not edible and I have to send it back. I could get over the prices if the food and service were consistent but they’re not.Side note: they charge you for refills anything after the 2nd glass👎🏻, somewhere around $2.30 a glass for fountain items!
Pias is a great little family spot to have an delicious Italian meal. Their pastas are fantastic, try the home made meat sauce on them. Theyre also quite great at making pizzas, including a gluten free option as well. Overall Pias is a go to standard for tasty pasta.
Pias is a family owned Itailian restaurant with a bar, semi separated. They have a large seating area, plenty of room for big parties. Everytime I have been there the food has been fantastic. In house pizza can be taken to go or eaten there. Thin crust, crispy and cheesy. One time we had poor service from a rude waitress but I dont think she works there anymore
My family has been going here for over 40 years. Just for dinner sometimes but we have many birthday party’s here and have had funeral dinners, wedding showers and baby showers here. We love the food but for the past couple years ( and we do this at Least 6 times a year)whenever we call to make reservations the person answering the phone is sooooo rude! She refuses to give us the waitress we ask for saying very snottily that we can’t request a certain person nor can we split the bill! Well our immediate famiky is about 16 people and people don’t carry cash these days. Also if we go in for dinner and ask for our favorite waitress we get treated rudely...this is the only restarting that doesn’t want you to ask for a waitress?? It has become so bad that we are thinking of having our get together a somewhere else.
Great tradition italian food, great price, accommodated 19 of us for Mothers Day with easily made reservations and two add ons later before Mothers Day. This reviewer had veal, with mushrooms, artichokes, mild garlic sauce with capers on a bed of fettuccine noodles. Veal was extremely tender and the dish was excellently made. Others had excellent pizza, stuffed shells, a trio selection of entrees, lasagna, chicken parmesan, etcetera. Food came fresh, hot, and surprising fast, with one dynamite waitress who kept drinks refilled in a flash, who was pleasant and mega efficient, not missing a beat with where each order went to whom, replenishing bread baskets quickly, plus looking professional with a corsage for Mothers Day. She was on top of her game directing staff coming out of the kitchen with food trays. Could not have had a better experience. Kudos to Britt (I think, ugh), our waitress🎉. This restaurant accommodated at least five other tables of our proportion, plus other smaller tables and booths... amazing. This restaurant has been in existence for sixty years. A must go to if in Taylor Michigan Area! This reviewer has been there several times in a smaller groups and has never been disappointed in the meal and the service.
Portions are real small. First place Ive been to that you have to pay for rolls and butter! They charged us more on our tab than the menu prices because their prices went up!?! How can you charge more than what is listed on the menu??? False advertisement. Finally if you like to eat with gnats flying around you and your food then this is the place to go! The waitress thought it was funny about the gnats...smh. First time and last time there!!!
Bread was very hard first time around. After requesting a fresh batch it was MUCH better. Our waitress seemed a bit annoyed throughout the beginning of the meal but she was still on her game in terms of replentishment (drinks and whatnot). She was a bit better towards the end. Minestroni was a bit of a let down but the french fries were amazing, theyve become my new favorite. Lasagna was also excellent. Over all, not a bad dining experience.
Parking was very difficult. My wife order gnocchi and Alfredo source with sausage. They brought the sausage in a red source by itself. Who wants Alfredo sauce and red sauce; manager said thats how it comes. Not good. My daughter had the pizza and it was good, thus the one star.
Pias food and staff are VERY good and all done professionally. Always great service to compliment our delicious food! They even double checked and asked politely if a booth was ok for my pregnant girlfriend. If you want GREAT authentic Italian food as well as WONDERFUL service and a nice atmosphere, come to Pias!!!
To bad this place has good pizza but they refuse to deliver 3 miles to my home. But they will deliver clearly across taylor to eureka Rd. But i can have others drive almost 6 miles to serve there customer. Shame on pias ill never recommend them to nobody or order again. Thanks a lot because you suck.
Good food but the service is slow. Took a while to get the bill.Edit: I just dropped two stars. I did carry out. I specifically asked if I received marinara sauce with my mozerella sticks - it’s the main reason why I get them. I was told yes. Guess what I didn’t get?Update 11/30/18: STILL forgetting the marinara sauce even when I reminded them on the phone. I went back to get it. They asked if I called about it; which I didn’t because it’s just marinara and I was back within 15 minutes. I was given a small cup. I asked for more since it was small and I had to drive back to get it - even after reminding the worker on the phone when I made my order. I was given a second small cup because they would charge me for a bigger cup or more small cups. Not only could they not be curtious of the marinara, but I’m surprised they want to penny-pinch it. Not only is the 1 cup you get small, but the food is overpriced when considering the portions you get. I can get a half order of pasta at Red Lobster that’s the same size of a full order of pasta here.
On yesterday I attempted to make a first time order via a referral of this business. Upon being conferenced into the call, began speaking and making my requests. The woman taking the call was made aware that there was a third party on the line. Now heres where it gets messy. I speak to the wait staff and ask for onion and green pepper on my chicken caesar salad and am will to pay extra. We both(myyself and my friend who Referred me) agree to pay extra for these items. The phone went on a brief hold and the wait staff returned and said, we cant do that. I asked, do you not have the ingredients, this is a pizzeria and I am sure that these items are ordered on pizzas?. The call goes on another hold. The wait staff returns and says, we can put them on the side. I said, nevermind Im uncomfortable with this person handling my food. Proceeded to cancel the order. Now I am Jamaican/W. African and was referred by an Italian man. I feel that this woman didnt appreciate the fact of that. Because there should be no reason for this response.I called today at 4:49 PM where I spoke with a female manager who by her tone could really careless. She uttered an air filled, apology and said thank you for bringing it to her attention. I never heard we dont stand for that BEHAVIOR here, nothing but a fake why are bothering me with this apology. I asked if this was franchise or privately owned. I was told privately. No one offered any resolve or a real apology. I told the manager I would be writing a review and that their has to be an understanding of the breakdown of customer service relationships. I feel that this attitude will ruin any business. This is how people lose interest in patronizing family owned businesses because their is no one to hold them accountable.I am visiting from Las Vegas and this is Not how we greet tourists. I will never be encouraging anyone of African descent to patronize here, period. They are mean, unfriendly, unprofessional and entitled because of, white privilege!

2022-07-11These folks know what the hell their doing. If you’re thinking about going to a different restaurant for lunch/dinner, don’t. You’ve found 🙌🏻THE ONE 🙌🏻 … Their lasagna is perfectly cheesy and saucy and their Alfredo, oof, where do I even begin? Homemade pasta. Need i say more?

2022-07-13I went there for a celebration of life for a coworker. The antipasto salad, pepperoni pizza, mostacholi, sausage and meatballs were very good and the bread was excellent, it was served warm. The was a set meal so I didnt have to look at the menu or know the prices. So thats why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I didnt see the menu or prices. But what I did have was very good. The place seemed clean and the wait staff was attentive.

2022-05-07Usually a 5 star rating and the All the Food is always excellent, I had Daughter in law over tonight and She wanted Pizza from a 5 star restaurant instead of a regular place for Mothers day. So I ordered what She wanted and went and picked it up,got home and it had stuff on there that She cant eat and not all the stuff I ordered. I called and told the Young Lady that it was the wrong Pizza and She tells Me well thats what You ordered 😡 So tonight She didnt get Her Pizza and the Young Lady on the phone hung up.

2022-04-11Always delicious! Took the family here for my dads birthday. Weve been going here since I was a small kid, back in the 80s. My absolute favorite thing? Dip the garlic bread in the chicken pebble soup. Youll thank me later, promise. The fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken is my go-to dish, but you really cant go wrong with any pasta dish here.

2022-04-16This used to be my favorite Italian restaurant till one manager ruined everything. Andy was not professional at all, he rushed my order when calling, so we called back to make sure it was right, he rushed us again and was rude so we just canceled our order, he ended up hanging up before confirming it was canceled so yet again had to call, he did not cancel it so another employee had to cancel it for us, when trying to give the manager a complaint (it was about him) he told us hes not taking complaints today and hung up. I have never been treated so horribly over the phone before, my family has been coming here for years, I had my high school and college graduation dinners here, and to see how this is the management style now, is sad. Andy the manager of this restaurant made a loyal customer stop coming here.
