Pings in other cities:
Easily the best Chinese food in Rochester, the family that owns the place is incredibly friendly and the quality of food is very good for Chinese takeout. This is certainly an Americanized menu but high quality ingredients, huge portions, and friendly service. If you like Chinese takeout I think you’ll like pings, give them a shot!
Yum! In my opinion it is one of the best Restraunts for Chinese food. I just love the won ton soup,I always get extra bok choy and egg rolls/spring rolls. What ever they make is the good to me. We do take out, but there are tables set up for dine in. They are really fast too.
I ordered general tso chicken asked for medium spice. Didn’t like the sauce it was exactly teriyaki sauce and not spicy just very very sweet. Also it’s heavily battered and fried I got many pieces that were all breading I couldn’t finish it. If u love teriyaki sauce maybe try it but not what I ordered. 3 stars for fast service and the fried rice was pretty good.
Quality is okay, taste is okay, and they are pretty speedy from when you order to when its ready. I had ordered two (2) meals and its disappointing how much protein you are given compared to vegetables considering the price. About 90% of my order was vegetables and only 10% protein. You get a better value going to Panda Express or Chengs down the road.
Had to stay at work late and called right before I left and placed my carry out order. Showed up about 15 - 20 minutes later and my food was ready. It was the first time I had it. It was by fare the best Chinese I have ever had. From the egg rolls to sweet and sour chicken, it was literally the best. Highly recommend and will be stopping again.
I’ve came to this Chinese restaurant since I was a teenager and it is still my favorite, hands down! Great food and the family that owns it is wonderful, they know my family and I by name and recognize our numbers when we call. Huge portions. If you order the family combo’s it’s ALOT of food! We love Pings!
I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had an issue with the food or service! Pings is my go to place for Chinese food in the area. I like that many of the dishes come with the option to add spice or take it off. The lunch specials are priced well. I recommend the sesame chicken. I tried their Szechuan chicken today after watching an episode of Rick & Morty and gotta say it lives up to the hype. Do yourself a favor and support local with a plate from Pings!
After our favorite place changed owner and couldnt even come close to their quality of food(20 min drive), then spent a few years at another location (they must have changed the quality of food they were ordering) Ive spent the last 2 years looking for a place to call home for our Chinese takeout. I must say I found it here. Its a 20 drive again but i have no problem with that. We pass at least 5 others to get here. Thanks to my coworkers for suggesting Pings. This was our first visit but it wont be our last
Awesome food! Everything tasted very good, and it was finished and boxed up for us quickly! I was absolutely starving and am glad we stopped here. We just looked up restaurants in the area, and it was super close. The staff member we interacted with was very polite. I even saw her helping and older gentleman bring a box to the car.The only reason its not 5 stars is because we wanted to dine in, but when we walked in it was so cold! And it wasnt just because of us coming in from outside. It didnt start to feel any warmer as we waited for our food. But, we usually get Chinese food as takeout/delivery anyways.Overall a pleasant experience!
Im a new customer. Iv been a loyal Wongs customer until they closed for the pandemic and was looking for another Chinese food take out place. I was referred here by my brother. Iv gone 2 times in the past 2 weeks.( today is 6/16/20) The food is fast, no order mistakes, average priced, with good portions. The food is cooked perfectly. The gravy is thinner and less gelatin like with the almond chicken than most places but I like that especially when it comes to reheating leftovers. Im definitely going to continue coming here and recommend trying it if you havent already.
We ordered Szechuan chicken combo & general tao combo. We requested the former to be very spicy and the latter to be pretty spicy. The Szechuan chicken was basically flavorless with huge pieces of broccoli and the general Tao was equally underwhelming and undercooked. Overall, we had high hopes for this place based upon reviews but were left highly disappointed (and hungry). The service was great, all things considered.
Places two orders, one for me and one for my coworker. Get there to pick them up and I tell the lady I had two orders, she brings me the wrong order, when I tell her it’s wrong she gets snappy and rude with me that I said I placed two orders, I told her I did but you said the wrong orders. Food was just ok, I asked for very hot/spicy General Tso’s and it wasn’t spicy at all. Rice was plain. If you like bland food, you might like it but I won’t be back!
I absolutely LOVE this place! I used to live in Romeo so I would always go to China Kingdom but since I moved its been a hassle trying to find a good Chinese restaurant. Look no more if youre on the hunt because this place is FABULOUS! I love everything that Ive gotten here so far and I plan to keep on trying more! Keep up the good work!
This place is a gem! The price is right and the servings are large! One of their dinners that comes with one entrée, a rice side (fried or white), and an egg roll can feed two people easily, and the cost is right around $9.00. For larger groups the price of a large entrée with white rice is around $8.00. The staff is friendly and service is fast! We have been eating here about two times a month and have had no problems with our orders, even with larger orders! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves American Chinese Food! One draw back, this place leans towards carryout, so their seating area is a bit cold during the winter time. Also, there is no table service, or delivery. But it will be worth your time and money to stop in.
Almond chicken was okay, some pieces cut to thick were tough and chewy, but thinner cut chicken was good. The almond gravy was to beef stock tasting and was thin as water. Fried rice was on the low end, same with egg roll.General Tsos chicken was unevenly seasoned at mild heat. If chicken pieces were medium-sized they were correctly cooked, while small cut was over cooked and dry. Those big pieces seemed to be under cooked in regard to batter. The broccoli was cut with to much stem and was hidden under the chicken? Once again, fried rice and egg roll were on the low end, just mostly no flavor. The cost per meal was average, and the portion was large sized, in fact enough to be split for children in the home to have dinner. Order ahead, or just walk up to order. Small dinning room used mostly for waiting rather than eating. The restaurant was IMHO, in need of deep cleaning and remodeling. This was the second try at this place, not sure if we will try it again. In closing, average priced sub par food, but a lot of it.
My husband and I have lived in the area for about 5 years and have tried multiple Chinese restaurants trying to find a place that we were truly satisfied with, I trusted the reviews and we gave it a try. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes for the price point is more than worth it. I highly recommend Ping’s if you’ve never tried them before. This is definitely going to be our go to place for Chinese food!
I get the General Tso lunch special and the chicken is good and crunchy with a decent amount of sauce. I am not a fan of the fried rice but they let me substitute white rice instead for no charge. It is the best chinese place I have found since I moved to Rochester. The fried dumplings are good too and you get 10 for $6.50 which is a deal.
Bangin! I walked from my Ophthalmologist heading towards Subway to get a bite to eat. I changed my mind and walked in Pings. The heat was on in the lobby. The food was so good!!! The lady that took my order was very nice. I live nowhere near this restaurant but if Im ever in the area again, Im eating here again💕💞💓
Can’t seem to find a better place for Chinese around here. four stars is all I can give it, give it a try, everything is pretty good. You will not be sorry, try their hung shoe guy, there egg rolls are fantastic and their vegetable fried rice is delicious, almost anything you get is above average, the place for Chinese in my area for sure. they are always busy.
I moved from Rochester Hills to Warren and after trying about 15 places in the area, I willingly drive 25 minutes to come get Pings. Their chicken stays so crunchy and perfect, even after driving all the way back home. Even the next day. Its a miracle. My boyfriend and I wont eat any other Chinese now.
Pings is ok. We usually get sweet and sour or something similar and it comes with rice and an egg roll for a good price. We tried to be adventurous and try something new and were very disappointed! I ordered the garlic chicken and it did not come with sides. It was a box full of soggy tasteless veggies(mostly green peppers) with hardly any chicken, seriously like 5 small pieces of chicken lost in a soupy mess of gross. My husband ordered the chicken chow mein which was literally all tasteless bean sprouts and some chicken. I dont know if thats normal for those meals, but it was awful to us. Just an FYI
When I called to make a small change on my order, the older lady that answered the phone was unbelievably rude and disrespectful. She wasn’t understanding what I was trying to say so instead of being kind and trying to work together to better understand each other, She instead turned very mean and rude and hung up the phone one me. This is my first time trying this restaurant and will be my last because the amount of disrespect is not worth my money there. Respect is earned.

2021-07-29Best Chinese I’ve ever had... nothing else compares. Every single bite is perfectly crispy, no giant soggy pieces. Literally my dream Chinese restaurant. Great portions, excellent quality, fair prices. Say goodbye to fighting over the smaller, crispier pieces and say hello to smaller & crispy pieces for all. This will be my #1 go-to spot. Thank you Ping’s!

2022-07-17One of the best places around. No matter what you get will be packed with flavor and overflowing with food to the point the box barely closes. One of the best places to go after a bad day at work

2020-10-28We been going there for some time now and its seemingly getting bad with the amount of food you get it is getting to were i dont want to go anymore I ordered Shashquan chicken and only got about 10 peices of chicken and the rest was broccoli and mushrooms . Time before ordered pepper stake and was the same little steak and a hole lot of peppers I guess will be looking for a new Chinese restaurant

2021-03-27I moved the area last year and this is my go to Chinese food place in the area. I love getting the sauce on the side they’re fast and it’s great typical American style Chinese food.

2022-01-23Theres a lot of hype around Pings and I kind of get it... but also have a really hard time giving it any more than 3 stars. I had friends raving about their experiences at Pings and especially how good the food was, adding the detail that the portion sizes are huge....Ill say the portion size comment is correct, but the rest is really quite subjective and seems to vary quite a bit from dish to dish.I got the Chicken Fried rice and the portion was gigantic; definitely enough for more than one meal! That aspect was great, but the food quality was just... meh. Fine for a very average Chinese takeout, but not deserving of all the accolades Id heard about Pings. In general, I think its definitely worthwhile if youre willing to roll the dice and/or if youre ready to order a lot of options with a group and potentially have a few dishes that are just ok.
