Comment: My interaction with NWAN has been a phenomenal experience and I cannot thoroughly express my satisfaction and thankfulness with the company for following through on their commitments. I purchased a Forever Warranty from the dealership on my 2014 Ford F-150 in 2016 on the day I purchased it. This year in April 2024 with over 234,000 miles on my truck I took it to Dahl Ford in Davenport, Iowa for major repairs.I ended up having both turbos, head-gasket manifolds, valve gaskets, engine cover, vaccuum pump, and actuator replaced. The total repair bill was $9332.46 and I was only responsible for paying $852.00. This charge resulted because I was the one who requested my actuator be fixed and it carried a diagnostic fee and I also had to pay for fluids and taxes.Ive had so many people tell me that I might have just as well burned up the $3435 that I paid for the warranty because the company always find a way to get out of paying for service and repairs and voids the warranty. Well, I probably called the company at least 15 times in one week making sure all my service forms were accounted for and I made sure every detail was finalized before taking my truck in for service.My service advisor told me that the service he received from the company was excellent and he had no problems at all getting my repairs approved as they encountered each one. He did have to get prior approval and submit pictures for each repair but he said that practice follows industry standards and they were always quick to get back with him. So, as a 100% Satisfied Customer of NWAN and their entire service department, I would like to thank them personally and I Totally Recommend their services.

Comment: As a Service Advisor I’ve had mixed experience filing claims with this company. Darletta, Tom, Mike, and Alex have been incredibly helpful with one particular mutual customer.The reason I was sent this survey however, is for the few OTHER claims I’ve called in to file and the awful service I was given. On 4/10 I attempted to file a claim (again) online, and was met with a “contract not available” upon searching, even though I had their contract in my hand. When I called in, I was asked why I wasn’t filing on line, then why I was having issues, and then I was hung up on.When I called back I got Vanessa. She, asked more in-depth questions and FIGURED out WHY I couldn’t access the online claims and FIXED the issue while we were still on the call! What an angel!!It’s genuinely a shame when people don’t take their toll serious enough to help other companies be efficient, I don’t even want to IMAGINE how the customers are treated.

Comment: I had a similar experience as another poster, I was misinformed about my contract by multiple service reps and was met with nothing but argumentative attitude. It was truly appalling. Like the previous negative review it was absolutely impossible to speak with anyone directly as they use a third party to deal with claims and if you need anything more they tell you to kick rocks, too bad for you. Of course they also found every loophole and technicality as to why my repair was not covered and it was a complete and utter nightmare for me and my family. Avoid at all costs!!

Their accessibility, professionalism, and most importantly their compassion. With the record heat this year a calamity occurred to my new 2022 R.V. in the form a malfunctioning 12 volt Residential refrigerator. Comment: I just had the worst experience with this company. Do not use unless you want to be set up for failure. I bought this warranty and the extended one from the dealership under the assumption this was through the dealership. I was told my vehicle will never have any issues ever again. I was NEVER provided that this is a third party company and I was NEVER given a copy of the service agreement OR communicated with that it needed to be taken to the dealer every time. I did not know that if I wanted to get an oil change I had to call for permission every oil change. I would not have even had the contact information to do this. I stopped taking my vehicle to the dealership after they scratched and dented my car during a regular service and it would take a more than a month to get a regular service. Since I did not want to neglect my car I took it elsewhere.The first time I had an issue with motor mounts. I was told “motor mounts” aren’t covered so I called. I was told by the warranty that motor mounts are not covered but engine mounts are and was sent a copy of my warranty. Coincidentally the same day that I was sent a copy of my valid contract the contract was invalidated because an oil change was not performed at the dealership. I was then told about 2-3 different stories before finally them agreeing that the warranty is now invalid for the rest of my life.I have never been so talked down to and invalidated based off of my concerns for the vehicle. This was the first time that the warranty was actually needed and then told I will now never be able to use it again. It took me months to even figure out the name and number of this third party to figure out they were the ones with the warranty. I asked if there is anything they can do help me and they proceeded to tell me it’s not their fault that we didn’t know they were a third party and it’s the dealers fault and they will not help me. I asked for the name of the company to validate and leave a review and I was given the wrong name to the company.

Comment: I was provided an extended power train warranty withheld through Portfolio by the selling dealership and also purchased a WRAP coverage. The power train warranty is absolutely useless, my transmission failed in June 2023 and had this verified by my local GMC Dealership. Vehicle had to be towed back to selling Dealership to have the work done. Portfolio wanted service records which is fine, until my records provided weren’t good enough. First denial was regarding lack of documentation, second denial was for records not verifiable. Third denial was for receipts not matched to my VIN. Forth denial is now for “Not following Manufacturer’s Recommendations of Service”. I pay for OnStar which regularly provides service recommendations for service due and also any issues that come up while driving. I just got my first normal service recommendation per mileage and not due till 97,500 miles. I have always had my oil/ filters changed regularly per the dash indicator and also VIA Onstar APP on my phone. Past 3 oil changes have been done by a New local GMC Dealership and Previous was done by a Local shop in my area. This policy was never intended to be honored and Portfolio will give you every excuse to not do so as you can see I stated in the beginning.

I needed to have some work completed a short time later but the transfer process had not been completed at the dealership. After contacting dealer with little assistance. I then contacted Portfolio and spoke with Alesha, she went out of her way to contact the dealership and get all transfer requirements completed so that my vehicle could be repaired. Alesha was excellent to work with and very helpful. Repairs were completed and repair shop had no problem getting the claim approved and paid. Excellent service!!

Amanda was understanding and calming in her directions and was extremely helpful. I truly appreciate Portfolio having such a professional employee available for immediate assistance. Comment: Its frustrating when corporations violate contracts they write. I finally got a chance to read the contract after the dealership pressured me into signing it. I decided to cancel because of all the exclusions. The contract says that the lien holder should have gotten the refund within 30 days. Its been 3 months now and still no refund. Ironic because when I was pressured to sign they wanted the money that day.Before I get a generic response from the owner, I dont want an apology, I want you to be better. Here are actions you could take. 1 Be more aware/exclusive of dealerships you partner with. When Ive called to try to figure out where the money is your agents blame the dealership. However, your name is still on the contract and so you share blame when they are violated. 2 Pay employees a decent wage so they are hopefully nicer to work with. Two of three employees Ive spoken with were understanding, but the last was a bit impolite. 3 Have an option for customers to email you. There is too much miscommunication that can happen over the old fashion phone. 4 Post generic contracts online so customers can research them ahead of time before going to dealerships.Edit: After 3 months and 8 days I received my refund, which was just shortly after I posted this review. Because the owners response was so great to my original Im upping from 1 to 2 stars. Providing me a specific name and number was a much better response than I had hoped for, though I didnt end up needing to call. So in reviews response category they are more like 5 stars. If they want to take credit for getting my refund pushed through Ill up to 3 stars overall, but it might have just been a timing coincidence.

Comment: On Friday, 3 March, the dealership that was repairing my car submitted a claim to cover the heating/air conditioning control repair cost. Portfolio told the dealership service manager that the repair would be covered, but 24 to 48 business hours would be necessary for the dealership to receive the official authorization to proceed with the repair. After 48 hours, the service manager called Portfolio to ascertain the authorization status. The service manager was told someone would call the dealership shortly. After no call back that day, both the dealership and I started calling Portfolio numerous times, reaching different phone numbers over the next few days. Multiple times, we were told someone would call us back in an hour or two. No callbacks were EVER received. Late on Thursday, 9 March, JoLynn McCullough (Dallas, TX facility) answered one of my calls. I explained the situation to her. She told me she would assist us in expediting the authorization and payment by contacting appropriate Portfolio personnel. She was a ray of sunshine as she was very concerned and sympathetic to my experiences and frustration and was eager to help. On the morning of Monday, 13 March, I contacted JoLynn. She told me she had reached out to coworkers, I would receive the authorization shortly, and payment would be received shortly after the dealership submitted the invoice. One hour later, the dealership received the required email. Repair was then started and one hour after the invoice was submitted, the dealership received payment. JoLynn stated her team consisted of Jessie Contreras, Shane Shea, Mercedes Hampton, and Britny. I am sure the process would have taken longer if this team had not intervened.I want to acknowledge the team’s professionalism, focus on customer satisfaction, customer service, and doing the right thing to complete the steps that other company members were amiss in doing. Their kind of positive attitude, combined with their responsible efforts, is what results in a good reputation and makes companies successful: my sincere appreciation and thanks to the entire team.

I phoned Hailey shortly after she received the requested documents, and while we were on the phone, she verified the paperwork, computed my refund amount (which was spot-on), canceled the contract and advised me the check would be mailed to me by the end of the week. I was obligated to purchase a keyfob replacement warranty through this firm through a used car dealership at the time of purchase and was told I could not opt out. Within 48 hours of purchasing the car, the keyfob broke beyond repair.I spent the next two weeks being told by Portfolio that I needed to return to the seller, go to the dealership, email a completely different company and fill out several redundant claim forms until I caught them in so many lies that they absolutely had to pay, which they still took two days to do.The warranty cost $495 and the keyfob only cost $126 so they still made out like thieves even after I forced them to pay for the warranty they sold me. This is the business they are in: selling insurance and warranty and doing everything possible to deny claims. Thats how they make money so keep this in mind before purchasing anything from them.

We only have one car and we’ve had to pay for a rental car so that we can get to work each day. Ford told us that portfolio had 48 hours to respond and yet here we are at two weeks. We called portfolio and they said that they would get back to us on July 5 but we did not hear from them. Every day our service guy at Ford calls and they tell them they have not made a decision yet. They did the inspection finally last Monday but they still have not approved Ford to do the work. We can’t afford to continue paying this rental! We will never go with this company again and BUYER BEWARE!

Other than that my experience was less than ideal. I had one lady answer the phone I asked her to help me understand a contract. She explained with anger I then said what should i do as my next steps and she responded by repeating exactly what she previously said (with attitude) and then hung the phone up. The only reason you receive 2 stars as a company and in this review is because of Leo and Soufi...I would get on some of the recordings, listen to the conversations people have with your service agents and start sending people home with a box of dest trinkets in hand if I where you. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was a total loss...i got a brand new even better car from that total loss...for free. I believe in giving credit where credit is due, so I will share my comments...in 2018, I purchased a new motorhome which held a 2 year manufacturer warranty. With this purchase, I chose the highest priced extended warranty, which ended up being with Portfolio. I had not used it but once, when another need arose. I was told that Portfolio denied the second claim. Comment: I would like to thank Kelly Williams for helping me complete a policy cancellation action that was made difficult by the dealer. What should have been a 1- or 2-week transaction, took over 3 months to complete. Portfolio needs a policy cancelation from the dealer to process the refund to the dealer. The dealer in this case simply would not send in the policy cancellation. For two months they said they gave it to the Warranty Administrator who is supposed to send it in. I asked to speak to the Warranty Admin, and they said she does not speak to the public. Finally, I asked Kelly Williams what other recourse I have. Kelly sent an email to someone that got the dealerships attention immediately. A day later, I got a phone call from Mary Lou, the Warranty Admin, who said she never received the cancellation paperwork, that this is the first she has heard of this situation and that she would process the cancellation and refund immediately. In about a week, I received the refund check. What is unbelievable is that I have been a customer of that dealership for over 30 years and have bought 3 new and 1 used vehicle beginning in 1988. Again, I would like to thank Kelly Williams of Portfolio for her professional demeanor, job knowledge, helpfulness, for taking action and following up until closure. Comment: A few days ago, I submitted a review regarding a phone conversation with Lauren and the unbelievably helpful information she gave me. This (very lengthy) review regards JoLynn McCullough and includes an awful lot of background I left off of Laurens review. If you dont have a lot of time and want to skip the background, skip down to the ***** near the bottom of this note. As I explained in Laurens review, Im having trouble with a dealership that has, literally, stolen my refund from the cancellation of an extended warranty I had with Portfolio. I cancelled due to the manufacturer warranty, not Portfolio. But thats not the point. The Legal Director for the entire Auto Group refuted my claim with the Arkansas Attorney General and included a copy of a Portfolio form (it had the Portfolio logo on it) as proof I wanted the funds from my cancellation used as a down payment. Criminals arent smart, these Arkansas criminals are really sloppy (I was going to say stupid but JoLynn probably wouldnt care for that). All the information was type-written except someone wrote to be used as down payment in cursive as the reason for cancellation. Believe it or dont. I was easily able to prove the other documents submitted were complete frauds but I had never seen this form before. I knew it wasnt a form used to verify application of funds from the cancellation but didnt have any idea where it came from or what purpose it served. Finally getting to the point. The only help understanding this form would have to come from the people who it belonged to: Portfolio. I was certain I told Lauren I wouldnt call again (she insisted it was no problem many times) but really, really didnt want to go back on my word. After all, I am not a Portfolio customer and no one at Portfolio owes me anything. After trying to get the answer on the internet I was stuck so I tried to call Lauren but she wasnt at her desk. ***** JoLynn answered and asked me how she could direct my call. To me, that means one of two things, operator or receptionist. After telling me Lauren was away from her desk and asking if I would like to leave a message (I said no), she asked if there was something she could help me with? She told me she was familiar with the form I was calling about and then I knew I had hit the jackpot again. I began asking questions and the extent of her knowledge on this form and everything having to do with the extended warranty process was remarkable to say the least. I asked question after question and she was so gracious and willing to take the time to explain her answers so someone unfamiliar with the extended warranty process (me) could understand them. Then she made sure I understood and answered many questions, that would certainly have come up later, before I even thought of them. She was so helpful and giving of her time with spot on assistance, I was afraid I had taken advantage of her. What a nice lady. It was like talking to family. Please thank her for me and tell her I appreciate her more than I can say, even in this lengthy message. Comment: I deal with Kevin at Portfolio Service contracts quite frequently due to my position at work. Besides being very knowledgeable and proficient at his job. He actually takes the time to listen and has genuine care when dealing with me, even though we deal on a business level. (He has remembered previous conversations and takes the time to ask questions about those conversations, which shows he actually listens.)I have emailed and called Kevin on several occasions and his response time is as close to immediate as you can get and if not within a few minutes it is a call with an apology for not getting back the same day, because he was off.I would definitely recommend Portfolio Service contracts to anyone looking for an extended “warranty”, because they are easy to deal with and work very hard at honoring their contracts for the dealerships.

Comment: Well I’m not much of a review writer but Im happy to let people know about Kelly Williams at Portfolio! She was an absolute pleasure to work with. So.... I had to call to get my extended warranty canceled because I sold my car. Who wants to do that? Well after some time navigating a unfamiliar task and waiting for return calls I was directed to Kelly. She was pleasant, professional and quick to email me to get the process on its way. This was on the tail end of a Friday and I felt this would probably take until next week to complete. Nope..Kelly emailed me less than an hour later letting me know the cancellation was complete and my money would be mailed. Definitely nice to know there is still a thing called customer service! Well done and Thank You Kelly Williams and Portfolio!

Comment: By far the worst gap insurance you could ever purchase! Extremely expensive and their staff is incredibly rude. They show no empathy whatsoever and have zero patience. I paid $1000 for their insurance and when I got into an accident that was not my fault, they denied my entire claim and I now have a repossession on my credit. There was only one person I spoke to there that was polite but even he became very rude when I didn’t understand the situation and was asking for a more in-depth explanation as to why they would not cover any costs. Not to mention they were missing documents and had me waiting for over a month, rather than contacting me to tell me they were missing documents they waited until I called them. They told me it would be 7 to 10 more days before they made a decision but within 5 minutes of receiving my documentation they denied my claim. They didn’t even have enough time to look over the paperwork before they denied me. Two different women there would not even let me explain the things I didn’t understand and cut me off mid sentence and transferred me to somebody else. I strongly suggest against using this company

Comment: Lauren was awesome..I needed assistance in canceling a contract that I had purchased from a dealer that as of late sold. I could no longer use the contract. When I called she was more than pleasant and walked me through the steps I needed to in order to cancel. She then emailed me confirming the process and checked on me every step of the way. Comment: I needed one less document to complete my claim. Spoke to customer service they said to call the dealership and get the information from them. I did, and they referred me to my paperwork. I explained that I needed some thing in writing and they refused. II email the paperwork and of course it wasn’t enough so I called again. Fortunately I spoke to Leeanne who was a super hero to me! She offered to call and she got them to take care of the paperwork needed to complete my claim. I enjoyed speaking to her over the phone. Comment: I was struggling with the claims process as the first person I spoke with sent me to a website to complete a bunch of detail that is apparently meant only for dealerships. I had to call the dealership to get the information and ultimately I couldn’t get the form to submit as I kept receiving an error message. When I called back, I spoke with Sofia and she was SUPER helpful and stayed on the phone with me to get the claim information filled out and submitted. I’m super grateful I’m these types of situations to find someone helpful and friendly and Sofia was great!! Overall the process was confusing because of the misinformation I received on the first call but Sofia got me sorted out!

Comment: We were having a difficult time with Orr Cadillac. We had traded a car we purchased from them and had requested a refund for the unused portion of the extended warranty and gap insurance. They were worse then simply being indifferent, they seemed to get pleasure out of passing us around from one person to another, and claiming that they did not have documentation we had already provided twice.Finally after nearly two months of this, my wife contacted Portfolio and spoke to Enrique. He was great, and had our check to us the very same day.

Comment: Beverly was amazing. Usually I get responses like “oh I will look into this and call you back” and never get a call back, which is what happened earlier this week. When I called back, Beverly was light speed fast in getting things done. She gave me more information than every other representative combined. She literally resolved my issue in less than 3 hours. Comment: The process took longer than I wanted but it really was more on the car insurance and the dealership on the warranty stuff. Once all that was taken care of, I was able to easily get all my documents to Portfolio. Once I had them all in, the review went pretty fast. They paid and notified me. I saw an issue, I responded and they got right on it. They reviewed and paid and explained all the questions and concerns I had. Even offered more assistance if I needed it. Megan was terrific and followed-up when she felt too much time had lapsed. Great customer service. Same goes for Jason. He was right on it. Sent me info, I asked a questions and he responded asap. Very quick and great customer service.

Comment: I called Maysoon regarding a gap claim and she went above and beyond in getting me the information I needed. She also followed up to make sure the information provided to me was helpful. Also, in the same day, I dealt with Javier Ruiz regarding a remittance, and he was very quick with researching the question I asked and providing a solution. Overall, I would rate the Portfolio HQ in Lake Forest 10 stars if I could, as EVERYONE I’ve dealt with so far has been top notch! If you’re thinking about doing business with this company, I would question why you would even think of anyone else!! Portfolio is #1 in my book!

I had a horrific experience with the dealership (Dublin Hyundai) that I purchased my car and the protection package and maintenance plan. It has taken over 7 months with the dealership to get any resolution to our problem. But, with one phone call to Portfolio Performance and speaking with Brenda for five minutes, not only did she process my claim with the utmost expediency, she apologized for the dealership and for the situation I had to encounter. Crystal is one of the most reliable and available people at Portfolio that I work with on a daily basis. She always gets the requested task handled quickly and goes above and beyond what is expected. Comment: I had better luck working with this company than I did with my own insurance or bank. They truly seemed to care about the importance of finalizing my GAP claim. Jason Huynh was very helpful and responded to my emails almost immediately. So I say a big THANKS to you all..👍Keep up the good work! The process they say can take up to 30 BUSINESS days. My claim only took about 4 weeks in total. Perhaps a little less, thanks.
