Comment: #1) Restrooms: I arrived Friday evening at about 6 pm, and from Friday at 6 pm until Sunday morning, I did not see anyone cleaning the restroom (which were discusting) or placing either soap or refilling toilet paper. Luckily, we took our own.#2) Dog Leash: They require dogs to be on a leash but do not enforce this. Our camping neighbors had a white with a bit of brown Frenchie who was not neutered, he was loose with a collar but without a leash and peed (on all our stuff, tents, chairs, cooler, etc.) and pooped in our camp site. We (nicely) informed the (dog owners)/campsite neighbors (their dog pooped in our campsite), and they did not clean the poop. I cleaned it for us, NOT to step on it. Then, hours later, the campsite neighbors asked where the poop was. I informed they I had already picked it up and why.Nice place to walk, ducks, lake, beautiful place, but when the place doesnt enforce the RULES, there are ppl like (these ppl our campsite neighbors) that do NOT care about Rules, or anything; but themselves.

Comment: Great park. But again. Nobody to check on fishing licenses, how many fish anglers are taking, people paying to get in the park and pretending not to speak English to come fish and take home way more that legal amount. I hear them brag about it each other as they take a limit of fish to their trunk ice chest. Where are the rangers

Comment: One of the best kept secrets in the area. We camp there frequently. The park offers a lot of things: fishing, frisbee golf, playground, hiking trails, soccer and ball fields, even several covered shelters for gatherings and a complete meeting room you can rent. If you tent camp there are limited spaces for individual tent camping, and large area for group tent camping. All the RV spaces in the back are large and have 30 & 50 amp service with water and sewer. They also have a dump station available. Campers have access to washers and dryers. The County and COE are in the process of upgrading the park over the next couple of years. Only bad side is the potholes in the Camping Area. Rangers and staff area friendly and helpful. Lots of wildlife around. Great place for photography. Horseback riding is available at the equestrian center next door.

Comment: I give them 1 star… the only good thing about this place is the sight seeing, and the other wildlife, but I been here 3 weekends in a row paying $22 ($10 for parking, $12 for fishing) and never caught a fish and before anyone says it the bait… just know I had everything, I had power bait, salmon eggs, garlic scent, turbo/trout, etc…. I even have every lures from Thomas, to Panther Martins, and yo-Zuri and many more. Still nothing, not even a numble. So if you could go fishing anywhere I’ll recommend it, because even someone else who was there on last Thursday when they “refilled” even said they only caught 1 fish, and they didn’t release 600 lbs like they’re supposed to 😐 so either someone feeding these fish or they’re not stocking enough like they’re supposed to.

Comment: This park is beautiful. The landscaping is very nice. Theres a number of sites for RVs and tent camping. The staff are friendly and pleasant. The lake has fish and wonderful wildlife. Fishing is not included, and you pay by blocks of days. It could add up if you like to fish. The problem with this park is that there are ants. Lots of ants. So be prepared to combat them if you are going to camp here.

Comment: Visited for battle for the ring in jan 18. The park seema pretty nice, amd its easy to get to from I15. There is a lake, it is apparently stocked but its possible in dry times there will be an odor. There is a 24 hour shooting range within earshot. The facility on the side with the campgrounds is nice. The kitchen is not huge, so meal preps should be planned with more time/ fewer workers. Showers have great water heaters. There is a large open area for outdoor bonfires or whatever too.Update in 2023. Park is still gorgeous. Main fire has better benches. Bathrooms are still pretty great.

Comment: I give it 3 stars only based on my fishing success. I have gone a number of times during the trout stocking season that begins in November. They currently stock with fish from Jess Ranch as well as DFG. Ive never had any luck which is sad because it costs $8 for car entry and $12 for fishing on the weekend which they consider starting on Friday. I hope that I can give a higher rating in the future!

Comment: The camping areas are only adequate. Its like a clean trailer park with filthy restrooms. If youre expecting to go camping youll be very disappointed. Its more like camping in your drive way, At least in your driveway, youll have clean restrooms, and you wont have to deal with the parking not-zeeez petty complaints. The one-way roads are a mess. Its like they were designed by a disgrantal worker on an acid trip, trying to produce perpetual motion with RVs.As a park, I give it 4 stars. As a campground, I give it 1 stars. As an overpriced trailer park, I give it 3 stars.

Comment: Fishing point of view here. We just spent a few hours our there looking for catfish. They were jumping out all day chasing surface bugs. All just beyond reach of our little trout poles. So if you come, bring some medium to heavier gear to reach out there with 1 to 1 1/2 oz weights. Anchovies, garlic shrimp will work. All we got were squeakers, which were released to grow. Went there on a Wednesday, 8 bucks entrance fee, 10 per person to fish.

Comment: A really great spot that needs to invest in some recuperation of the facilities! Come here for the day, or stay overnight. There is a 60-acre lake for fishing, lots of campgrounds and large green areas with tree coverage!💰 Entry $8-10/ vehicle 🚗🐕 $1 per dog🎣 $10-12 with license🏕 $40-50 per day (up to 6 people)💰 $125+ Picnic AreasThe campgrounds are available with hookups for RVs or prepped for tent camping with amenities. The area is definitely spacious and has a fire pit to get the full camp-feel.🚫 Playground is mostly blocked off and needing refurbishment. The swingset had two special needs swing, two infant swings and a few large swings but were also blocked off. There are two large units with many slides and obstacles but what was not blocked off by gates was needing upgrades. We were very excited to see a Spashpad Waterpark however that too was mostly not working and had much calcification corroding the metal. There were many scattered benches with various sizes and types of covering that makes for great parks days, picnics and family time outdoors. I recommend you bring a kite!Definitely has potential and will look forward to seeing improvements!

Comment: Quite a LOT of visitors in the Park every weekend. This is our 3rd visit. The first two were to look for the resident BALD EAGLES. This 3rd visit is specifically to FISH. Sadly, fish got smarter than humans, haha. Some caught their prized fish (catfish, bass). We did not - zero 🤷🏻‍♀️.We also noticed a good number of RVs, parked at a distance. Occupants are outside, enjoying their barbequed food with their companies/friends.The Park has a lot of picnic tables scattered throughout. Just choose which area you want to hang out. I believe you can also hold a Picnic Party here. We found two or three big groups of people gathered together and enjoying their food, music, dances, and other social activities.

You will have folks pull up to your PAID area and set up their BBQ,blare music and leave trash all for you to deal with. When you go to resolve an issue or tell the rangers to obey their own posted rules, they will say that they cannot control everyone. Being real, dont ever come here. There is a radio (only broadcasts inside), but no TV. Make sure you take the an RV shower, turning off the water while soaping and shampooing. We met several family members in adjoining sites, and had a GREAT Easter weekend!Thank you Prado, for having that available, and making it so accommodating!

If your gonna let your children play here id accompany them because unfortunately not every child has been taught manners or how to act in public.

Comment: So, apparently, even if you are camping at Prado regional Park, you are not allowed to fish until 7:30 in the morning... after all the fish are done eating. We were unaware of this asinine rule so we dropped our poles in at 7:25 and a park ranger came over the loudspeaker and yelled at us to reel in our polls, 5 minutes before the park was open.Everything else about prado is great but because of this rule and the petty rangers we will not be coming back.Who wants to fish 7:30-5?! Ridiculous

Comment: Slightly disappointed at how run down this has become. The staff were friendly and broadly the park was clean. However, thats about as good as it gets.Firstly, why does the group campsite area not have restrooms, while the RV area does? Its a long walk from the group camping to the nearest restrooms. While I did see the toilets being cleaned every day, it appeared to be only once a day as the two toilets in the mens were blocked early afternoon and didnt get fixed until the following late morning. No idea who I could have contacted about that either. The shower (in the same building as above) was appalling. Only one out of the three was apparently working. You need four quarters for 5 minutes of tepid water. Definitely bring shower shoes. It was hard to find our group camping site as two of the signs were missing, and there was no demarcation between the two sites with missing signs. There was no enforcement of the quiet hours. Loud heavy metal music booming out from the RVs at midnight, followed by scouts chanting and hollering at 6am.I dont expect much for camping, but this was still below average.

Comment: This place is poorly managed. Booked this site weeks in advance. Never received email regarding after hours check in. Office closes early and there is no other contact. The gate is very far from the actual sites so cant even summons the camp host for help. The gate was locked. We were so tired from our long travel. Another camper came through and we got in. In the morning the staff at the gate gave us the wrong code for the gate and so we were locked out again. Spoke with other campers that voice the camp is poorly ran. Our site had cigarette butts everywhere, what appeared to be urine in a water bottle. It is ashame since the sites are spaced out nice and the views are beautiful.

Comment: Horrible experience! Bathrooms were dirty, showers were worse! Absolutely disgusting, dirty clothes, dirt in shower (forgot to take pictures of that). No light at night for the bathroom, and they just left the toilet paper on the floor when it ran out. For what they charge I expect more, and then on top of that they want to charge extra for fishing. We got the worse spot at the camp grounds, no shade, no trees. That shouldnt even be a available spot. Sorry, pictures are very gross.

Comment: Its a wonderful RV Park with extremely hard working and helpful Park employees. I see a lot of people catching fish and having a really great time. An amazing amount of wildlife theres a lot of ground squirrels and chipmunks which has brought in Hawks eagles falcons owls that are there feed on the squirrels. Between pelicans and ducks and Canadian geese its a bird lovers paradise. Its shameful the park has let it sprinklers get in such disrepair I remember the park used to be like a golf course now its more like a desert in the camping area. But theyre under new management and their promising to get the sprinklers fixed and do some grass seeding next spring. Back when RV Park was built it was built with Half of the RV sites sewer water and electricity hookups on the wrong side of where you park your RV very inconvenient hopefully someday theyll fix that. It would also be nice if they have a small fence in area with your small dogs.

Its horrendous - perfect place to sprain an ankle. Otherwise, its a chill place for everyone. Park area with toys available for kiddies. Shaded places are nice to set up under. Events are held here sometimes and they close the park to outsiders then.

Comment: We spent a week camped at Prado to be near to family in semi-close Arcadia (close is a flexible term when accounting for LA area traffic), and our FHU site was easy to get into and utilities were easily reached and worked fine. This campground feels a bit older with trees that could use some trimming, narrow one-way roads, and some of the site layouts could have used more foresight. Our pull through site faced the single lane road instead of the open green space on the driver’s side, so while we had some privacy, it could have been better and some sites are better than others. There is also an equestrian area (along with trails, lake, playground, etc), and most days the wind blew in a direction that carried some pretty awful smells (maybe it was more than the horses?). While I don’t normally complain about the wind, we experienced plenty while there, and while that alone isn’t a unique problem, the dry exposed ground is. It was hard to go outside without getting covered in dirt, and along with the smell… it was a little gross. On the plus side, this is a very pretty natural camping setting with spacious, level sites that are mostly big rig friendly.Town and all the needed amenities aren’t very far away, and while it’s pricey for a city/county/state park ($40 a night (non-holiday) plus a $7 fee), such is the case in the LA area in general. There is plenty of space to walk a dog, and our Verizon service worked well without the booster. I also see another reviewer complained about gun fire from the nearby range, we could hear it when we were outside, but it wasnt particularly loud. There was also some construction going on in the park during the day, but overall, the park was really pretty quiet even on a weekend. All the negatives accounted for, Prado still offers a quiet park style respite from the surrounding city stuff, and we would stay here again.

Its really sad to see such a beautiful park is polluted by so much trash. And the birds ducks are endangered by the problem people caused(found dead bird floating by the shore surrounding by trash and tangled fishing line next to water lying on the hill). Im loving this park but feeling awful for what I see in this place. Its impossible to walk without being stopped by the trash you stepped into. Comment: This is an excellent regional park with a rather large admission fee. It costs $10 per car to enter and use the park, however it is very well kept and beautiful around the lakes. You can also rent paddle boats for $12 per adult for each hour, which is very relaxing to be out on the water. The water is not natural and thus is very dirty and full of algae. There are fish in the water, and fishing is also allowed here but I am sure you may need a license to do it. All of the park staff are super friendly and willing to help. Prado is an excellent place for a picnic (large or small) and to enjoy an afternoon/evening with family!

Comment: We went on Wednesday, February 24-26 around 5pm. There was tons of traffic. I recommend coming from the 71 direction so you can make a right into the park. If you arrive after 4:30, you need to call ahead and get the gate code. Once in the gate, its a pretty far drive to get to camp grounds. We stayed at site #11. Its a pull through site. Hook-ups were on the same side as the picnic table. Also, the picnic table/hang out area was on the opposite side of our trailers door, so we ended up turning around and pulling through in the wrong direction. If you dont like that, be sure you ask about that when you book. Sites #1-50 are all dirt. You need outdoor rugs or mats. Higher numbered sites have a cement pad. Lots to do and lots to see. Dogs are allowed. No wifi. TV antenna got ch. 7, 11, 13, 56 and other random channels. I do recommend coming here to relax. Its peaceful and the scenery is green.

Comment: Decent if youre local. The stocking of fish is low in lbs compared to the size of Lake and heavy amount of birds who also fish there. The grounds are heavily damaged by pests and hardly maintained. Low staffing. From what Ive heard from other people who fish, it tends to get poached at night as there is easy access. With that said, it is nice to take the family for an outing, ride bikes, walk and BBQ.

Comment: If you want to get away from the city or just get out of your house and get a beautiful scenic view. You should come to Prado park. The lake is very nice and it’s very private, you think it’s small just from the street view but if you continue driving farther into the park it’s actually very private it’s a beautiful park. Enjoy your hobbies, like fishing, painting, napping there is plenty of room to have large picnics or I just have a family outing or if you’re solo. What I really like about this park is that you know you’re still in the city but it feels like you’re in the wilderness. Parking is $8 to $12 depending on the day of the week or Holiday.

Equestrian trails and barn, full hook up with dump in sites, tent camping areas, lots of picnic tables, and the staff is friendly and change trash cans every single day. Park staff is always driving around, police drive through the park regularly and they have gated coded entrance. Really nice family park with beautiful playground and well maintained. Comment: This is a deceptively nice little spot in an area that I would not have normally looked for a campground. Most all of the spots have plenty of shade and even on hot days the breeze picks up in the afternoon making it feel much cooler than the thermometer shows. There is tons of space to walk, bike or let the kids run and play. There is not much real hiking, but plenty of grass, paths and open areas. The campground and day use areas were clean when we were here. However, the lake was pretty gross. There was a good amount of trash and beer cans discarded along the waters edge. There is also a major algae and bacteria bloom in the lake. Not that I blame the park for this, but the water is green and slimy. The lake looked nice viewed sitting at our campsite, not so much close up.If youre looking for camping thats a quick getaway, then this is an awesome spot. If your highlight is sitting at the edge of the lake, I might look elsewhere.

Comment: We play disc golf at this park on a regular basis and love it. We have also camped on the other side of the lake and its a nice clean park with clean bathrooms and outhouses that are very clean in the middle of the disc golf course. Plus, its a regional park so you can drink beer while you play. We get the annual pass for $60 so we dont have to pay $10 everytime we visit. Great deal and nice atmosphere, views, etc.

Comment: We also have a good time at Prado. Rangers are very informative and helpful. Fishing is ok but for it being stocked lake it is not a had place for beginners or people who just want to get away. It is pricey to get in.

Comment: Wish they were open later in the summer. I’m a photographer and love bringing my clients for photos to this park, but it’s pretty impossible to visit the park during the time the sun sets since the park closes so early at 5pm which is way too early to catch the sunset in the summer. We’ve also RV camped here before and was very pleasant overall. Would be a 5 star if they extended their hours for the summer months.

Comment: Parents must be careful. This park is full of some kind of Urtica plant, which causes burning sensation and instant redness. Oh and its very dry without enough trees. I need a little more care. For the price charged 10 dollars should be much better arranged.

Comment: Great fishing spot, lovely playground and zero submersion water park (the geese around there are very aggressive however!) Campsites were nice enough, but the outlet at ours wasnt working. Not great if you dont have a car though, takes forever to walk everywhere in the not inconsiderable heat this time of year. Bathrooms were pretty filthy, but not worse than a beach bathroom (lots of mosquitos though, have to kill a lot of them before it was safe to sit down) but the showers were pretty nice and coin-fed, never ran out of hot water. Nowhere to buy firewood or coals so be sure to bring plenty!

Comment: I come here to fish with my son all the time. Its so much better since they drained and cleaned out the lake. The camping area is great since its local. Most camping and fishing places are an hour + drive away. The Peacocks are fun to see, but quickly get annoying with how loud they can be.

Comment: Came for a company picnic and was pleasantly surprised at how huge the park is compared to most parks. When I got to the gate, the attendant literally told me to follow the arrows for two miles...wow. Theres a huge lake where people were fishing but I couldnt tell if they caught anything since I was just driving through to get to my destination. Theres also a golf course next to the park and multi-use facility that is available for rent that fits 80 people I believe. I will definitely come back for a day at the park and to go fishing.

Comment: I have been going to Prado for both just fishing with my Father over 45 yes to camping with my husband over 10 years. Nice park to fish and camp. Fishing is good and for camping its clean, quiet and the spots are nice. The close up spots you can view the lake. They have a few larger areas to camp with larger cement areas. The grass spots are fine also. Up towards the front of lake they have a small boat dock. No store anymore sadly. They now have a nice water park section now as well. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Call early to get a great spot because those spots are book fast. The camp area is near the Womens prison and you can here their speakers if you camp in the first section. Its not that bad. E joy your next trip n let me know how your experience was.

Comment: This was the first time I ever went here. I ran a Spartan race on Saturday and Sunday. So it wasnt a standard visit. But while running the races, I got to see the entire park. The lakes and open areas were very nice. Seemed to have good camping and picnic areas throughout. Looks like it would be great for an outing.

Comment: Large beautiful park, although you do have to pay to get in. There is a disk golf course, I believe I saw 2 playgrounds and a water park (the kind that sprays water at you). There are also a few bodies of water which although are not suitable for swimming appeared to be popular fishing spots. There seemed to be a bit of work being done on the park while I was the there, there where areas that where dug up and coned off. A few dead trees, ample parking and nice enough staff.

Comment: We stay here with our fifth wheel and it is one of our favorite spots. Water, sewer, trash, and electricity are included in the nightly fee, and a laundry area (albeit small) is available for use at a reasonable rate. There are 75 sites available, in at times it fills up very quickly, so plan ahead. Stays are limited to 15 days per one month period. Very dog-friendly and family-friendly with numerous areas to walk, hike, ride bikes or scooters, etc, as well as horses. The playground is a great one, though a few minor areas could use some upgrades or repairs; a splash pad is available during the summer.Sunrises and sunsets can be gorgeous if you catch a good one. Rangers are always friendly and helpful, as is the office staff when. Fishing, boating, and disc golf are also available. Firewood and bait are often available at the main gate, and they sell out quickly, especially on weekends.RV sites are well-spaced, with lots of green space, frequent bathrooms and trash cans. We have never used the showers, but if I remember correctly they are a dollar for five minutes and use quarters. Bathrooms arent the best and could use some updating, but are plentiful throughout the park.A few things you may want to know ahead: this park is located in prime dairy farm areas; if the wind is right, you will absolutely smell that. There are a lot of mosquitos and ants at times, so bring bug spray for you AND the outside of your rig! It is also right next to a womens prison; if you camp in lower numbered sites you seem to be able to hear announcements more than in higher numbered sites.Group camp areas and day use sites seem to have a lot of use, with some really cool events held at the park on occasion. Sometimes that means traffic in and out of the gate is pretty crazy, but the RV sites are at the farthest end of the park from the gate and day use, so they are a bit more of a buffer from that. There is no camp store onsite, but there are tons of stores and lots of shopping within a 10 mile range. Despite signs to the contrary, there is no snack bar. Laundry area consists of two washers and two dryers, so be prepared to wait your turn if it is in use, or take a bit longer if you have a lot of laundry; bring quarters as there is no change machine. All things considered, this is a great place to stay and we have yet to deal with drunken, loud, obnoxious campers like many other RV sites seem to be plagued with. While the weekends can get busy, week days and nights are pretty quiet and peaceful. Great place to add to your RV camping list!
